A week later...
It had been a little over a week since you left your home country to move to England. Feeling a bit more comfortable than you did on your first day and really trying to push yourself to be more open per se. Even if a certain blonde was secretly helping that just purely by being her clumsy self.
Yeah, you'll admit, the England striker was really growing on you, and you felt this certain emptiness in your heart when you were apart from her. A feeling you've never really experienced before, certainly not back home and it kind of terrified you.
But you pushed your feelings aside, deciding that it would be best to focus on football first and not lose focus because you were head over heels for a girl you've known barely a week. To be fair, that was what you were here for, for football. You weren't exactly expecting to fall in love, certainly not this early in your move.
Another week meant another round of training and it was definitely something you could get used to. You were starting to get comfortable around the other girls, making small talk with them during your breaks and conversing during partner or gym work. But it wasn't the same as back at home. Being about to talk with your teammates a million words a minute in your mother tongue was something you deeply missed. You missed the feeling of already having established relationships with your teammates. You never really gave it a second thought that a new beginning meant starting off being alone. It didn't phase you at first with your first few training sessions, but it then quickly became lonesome. You soon realised that you didn't mind being on your own, what you did mind was no one really understanding you.
Sure you spoke both Italian and English, to a near fluent level, but being able to connect with people in a manner that you felt comfortable in didn't really exist.
And that's when it clicked. That's why you were so enthusiastic to teach the striker when she had asked you at that coffee shop. That's why you were willing to put yourself in a position you wouldn't otherwise put yourself in and be more open. That's why you felt that emptiness.
The girl had seen right through to your heart and saw your pain before it even became clear to you. She didn't just want to learn the language because of her culture. She saw that you were lonely, extending out an olive branch to you to get to know you. She was the only one out of the entire squad who actually made an effort to get to know you and it was only now as you lay in your bed staring at the ceiling that you realised that.
Truth is, Alessia had been through a similar experience herself. Having been sent off to UNC at the ripe age of 18, she knew what it was like to be in an unfamiliar country before, she knew what it was like to be away from home.
Tumblr media
On your way to training, you got a text from Alessia, pulling your phone out once you had parked your car outside the building.
alessia ⭐️ [6:58]: hey [y/n]
alessia ⭐️ [6:58]: im not gonna be able to make it to training today :((
[y/n] 🦋 [7:03]: hey alessia
[y/n] 🦋 [7:03]: everything okay?
alessia ⭐️ [7:03]: yea
alessia ⭐️ [7:03]: just feeling a bit nauseous this morning 🥺
alessia ⭐️ [7:04]: im sorry
alessia ⭐️ [7:04]: could you tell jonas and the girls
[y/n] 🦋 [7:04]: yea sure :))
[y/n] 🦋 [7:04]: are we still on for tonight?
alessia ⭐️ [7:04]: umm maybe depends how i feel sorry 🥺
[y/n] 🦋 [7:04]: okay stella
[y/n] 🦋 [7:04]: feel better alright?
[y/n] 🦋 [7:05]: ill text you after training to check on you
alessia ⭐️ [7:05]: thanks xx
You slid your phone into your pocket and walked into the building, finally taking the right turns and making your way to where the rest of the team was. It was weird being there without the blonde, she lit up the entire room when she was there, and because of it, it was eerily quiet. The weather didn't really help that, with it being cold and rainy, but still, it was oddly uncomfortable.
You searched for Jonas, finding him in his office, knocking on his door you entered.
"Hey [y/n]. How are things?" The Swede asked with a big smile.
"Uh.. good yeah. I came to tell you that Alessia won't be coming to training, she's not feeling too well." You admitted quietly, your coach taking note of your dampened mood by this.
"Is everything alright?" He questioned, hoping that whatever it is, isn't too serious.
"Yeah.. she said she has really bad nausea. I plan on checking in on her later today."
"That's good.. I'll see you on the pitch then?"
You gave him and nod and waved goodbye before closing his door shut.
Tumblr media
Exiting the building pretty much miliseconds after training had ended, you retrieved your phone from your kitbag, opening up WhatsApp.
[y/n] 🦋 [14:00]: hey stella
[y/n] 🦋 [14:00]: how are you feeling?
No response, not even a read.
[y/n] 🦋 [14:05]: alessia?
[y/n] 🦋 [14:05]: everything okay?
Still nothing. You sat in your car confused, trying to rack your brain for any reason why she might not be answering. Appointments? No. Plans with friends? Possibly. But she felt sick this morning, she wouldn't want to go out, right? You decided it would be best to visit her flat, to make sure everything was alright.
Tumblr media
You drove to the blonde's flat after training, in a bit more of a rush than you probably should've, hoping that she was feeling better considering she didn't reply to your texts. You walked up to the door, trying to peak through her glazed windows for any signs of life, next trying her letter slot, peaking through and seeing that all of the lights were off. Her Mercedes was still in the driveway so she couldn't be far.
You began searching around her front door for any sign of a spare key, checking in bushes, under her door mat, and finally finding it in one of her flower pots. You shook your head, unimpressed at how easy it was for you to find it, making a note to tell her to find a better hiding place for it. You quietly unlocked the front door, taking your shoes off and closing it shut behind you.
"Alessia? Sei a casa?" [Are you home?]
You quietly padded through her flat, trying to locate where her bedroom was, finally finding it once you reached upstairs. You carefully cracked the door open to see the blonde curled up in a ball on her queen-sized bed, a pillow in her arms, and a grey jumper consuming her torso. She looked absolutely adorable. Your hand came to delicately brush the hairs our of the girl's face, seeing a bit of drool coming out of her mouth.
"Stella.. hey.." You gave her a light shake, watching as she stirred a bit before fluttering her eyes open.
"[y/n]?" The striker asked, recognising the warmth of your accent.
"You alright?" You asked lightly, stroking her cheek with your fingers.
"Y-Yeah.." She mumbled, her face leaning into your touch.
"Sorry for barging in.. I just wanted to make sure you were alive.. especially since I didn't get a text back.." You admitted, seeing as the young girl below you began to pout.
"I'm sorry.. I must've slept through them.." She apologised, grabbing the hand near her face and hiding behind it.
"No no.. it's okay Alessia.. I just got worried, that was all.." You reassured, feeling her cheek heat up.
"I-I can leave if you want. We can reschedule your lessons for another time if you still feel sick." You continued, not wanting to overstay your visit.
"No, it's fine!" She gripped around your hand tighter, removing her face from behind it. "I think that nap really helped.. it's what I usually do when I feel like this anyway.."
You smiled at her, seeing her become a bit flustered now that she was fully awake. "I'll go wait downstairs for you. Take your time, stella." You gave her one last squeeze, before making your exit. Walking downstairs to her living room, you allowed yourself time to admire her decor, glancing at the plants scattered around her house and occasional football memorabilia displayed either on the walls or on tables.
You couldn't help but get distracted by her dirtied Euros jersey that was hung up in a frame, with her golden medal dangling in front of it. 'Wow' you thought, she really is a big deal, huh?
"Euros final that.." A voice came from behind, turning to face the source.
"..first time in England history." The blonde smiled proudly as she walked over to you, standing beside you to admire it.
"I would've stayed to watch it but we were already back home at that point. I'm sure it was amazing."
"It was." She happily hummed.
Both of you made your way to her kitchen, the younger girl grabbing your wrist, which in many cases you would've resisted instantly rather than turn to putty in her grasp, allowing her to guide you over to one of the stools by the kitchen island.
"Posso portarti qualcosa da bere? Caffè?" [Can I get you anything to drink? Coffee?] The blonde bit her lip as she held onto the cupboard, waiting for your response.
You lifted your head up from looking at your hands, blushing a bit as you weren't expecting her to speak in your native tongue when offering.
"Uh- sì! Sarrebbe fantastico, grazie." [Yes! That would be great, thanks.]
"E un poco di latte troppo! Grazie Stella!" [And a little milk too! Thanks star!]
Alessia prepared your drinks, turning around and handing you yours when she was done.
"Questo è perfetto!" [This is perfect!] You announced, swallowing more of the drink satisfied. The striker all but blushing and hiding behind her mug as she watched you take more sips.
Tumblr media
"Right, so I was thinking.. that maybe in the next few weeks we could try watching some films in Italian. We can start off simple with like Pixar films or something with Italian dubs.. if you'd like.."
"Like Luca..?" The younger girl's eyes lit up, her hand absentmindedly reaching for your own as she sat across from you at the kitchen island.
"Yeah.." You sighed, enjoying seeing a spark of joy shoot through her.
".. actually that might be one of the best ones to choose from." You sent her back a smile, not even noticing the soft pads of her fingers trailing across the backs of your hands.
The two of you continued to chat back and forth, mostly in English but partly in Italian which made your heart happy. The effort that the blonde went through to master the words that she had been learning, pronunciation-wise and meaning-wise, was really paying off, now being able to hold small conversations even if she had to stop and ask what certain words were in Italian.
"Come si dice.. stadium?" [How do you say..] She asked mid-conversation.
"Ah.. stadio.."
"Oh.. durante l'Euros abbiamo vinto contro Germania a stadio di Wembley, è stato incredibile." [During the Euros we wont against Germany at Wembley Stadium, it was amazing.] She blushed, reminising on the memories had on that day.
"Sembra incredibile. Vorrei essere lì con te." [It sounds amazing. I wish I was there.] You sighed, your fingers now intertwining with her own across the cold marble of the kitchen island.
The conversation continued, flicking between different desired subjects that the blonde was interested in. Your hands staying laced together, never looking away from one another and smiling all the way. It felt so natural, it felt right.
Your heart fluttered the more her Italian accent formed, it almost sounding natural when she spoke at a normal speed without slip ups. It was infectious to hear and it never dawned on you until now on how sexy an Italian accent can actually be.
"-tutto bene?" [-everything okay?] She paused from her original thought, noticing that your eyes were glazing over.
"Sì! Stai andando alla grande, Continua." [Yeah! You're doing great. Keep going.] You praised, seeing the strike blush and give your hand a little squeeze.
I need to stop staring off at her like that. I'm supposed to be teaching her not getting distracted by her.
Tumblr media
The striker guided you over to the front door, her hand delicately rubbing up and down your arm.
"You coming to training tomorrow?" You asked with a smile.
"Yeah.. definitely." She nodded, blushing when she noticed how much you cared about her absence.
"Good." You hummed.
"Oh- uh.. by the way.. you need to hide your spare key better." You removed the extra set from your pocket, placing it in her palm. "..somebody might just walk in uninvited.." You raised your brows suggestively, witnessing the blonde blush more.
"Cheers.." The younger girl giggled, watching as you slowly exited her flat.
"Ci vediamo domani, Stella." [See you tomorrow, star.] You began walking down her pavement before you felt a hand grab at your wrist.
Alessia pulled you back towards herself, pulling you into a hug. At first, you weren't sure what was happening but you quickly accepted the hug and hugged the blonde back.
"Thank you.." She sighed, inhaling the scent of your hoodie as she hugged you tighter.
"..thank you for checking in on me.. it means a lot." She continued, her face nuzzling into the material.
"Of course, it's the least I can do." You chuckled, rubbing your hand up and down her back before pulling back slightly to place two kisses on her cheeks, freezing in your tracks when you realised that you'd done it again.
"Sorry.. I should really stop that.." You admitted embarrassed as your hands rested on her waist, giving her an apologetic squeeze.
"No, it's fine.." Her hand came to tilt your face back towards hers, copying the same gesture that you did to her, pressing a feather-light kiss on each of your cheeks.
"..there.. even." She murmured, blushing harder when she noticed you swallowing hard.
There was an awkward silence that crept in after your flirty exchange, both of your eyes flicking between each other's lips and pupils, never able to settle on one of them for more than a few seconds.
Alessia was the first to break the silence, gaining your attention as she rubbed her thumbs in circles on your shoulders. "Lessons tomorrow yeah?"
"Mhm." You pursed your lips together, nodding in response.
"Mine or yours?"
"Whatever's easiest for you." You hummed, noticing that the striker wasn't going to remove her hands from your shoulders anytime soon. Not that you minded, to be fair your hands weren't exactly planning on leaving her waist anytime soon either and it was clear she didn't mind.
Her hands began to fidget with the collar of your hoodie, licking her lips as her eyes lingered around your neck. "I can come round yours, follow you home after training." She mumbled back, focused on your choice of clothing and the softness of the material.
You let out a shaky sigh, trying to not make it obvious that her actions were clearly affecting you. "Y-Yeah that works.." Giving her a squeeze on her hips, you brought her eyes back up to yours, her crystal blue eyes looking deep into your soul.
"Good." She bit her lip, giving you a light pat on your chest before pulling away, your fingers lingering on her sides until she was too far away to reach. Already missing the feeling of the blonde in your grip and the soft weight of her hands on your shoulders.
"Tomorrow at yours then." She restated the obvious, her mind clearly not able to form new thoughts as she was a bit flustered.
"Mhm. I look forward to it." You let slip out, seeing how the blonde's pupils dilated at your words.
"Me too." She replied boldly, not having missed your boldness either.
"Ciao Stella." [Bye, star.] You smiled, not really sure what else to say as anxiety crept up your throat.
"Ciao, [y/n]." [Bye.] Alessia waved, closing the door as you stepped into your car.

✩ ˛˚ . NAGI SEISHIRO ; — your new step brother didn’t mean to be mean, he just didn’t know how to handle his feelings for his new step sister.
warnings: f!reader, stepcest, mast*rbation, all characters written 22+, nagi’s a lil awkward ofc, use ‘nii’ for sei-nii. note: i have been v unmotivated but i hav so much stepcest coming up my apologies it’s my fave <3 also new layout !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sei-nii wasn’t actually mean, atleast he didn’t meant to be. nagi was quiet, sure, but wasn’t that to be expected when he’s went from being an only child, alone in his own apartment most of his life to living with someone near his own age, especially a girl at that— how’s he supposed to act?
he remembers when he first met you, you seemed a little smaller than him but most people were given his broad physique— bright eyed and polite as you reached out to shake his hand with a gentle “nice to meet you, sei-nii” rolling off your tongue in a dreamy, breathier tone as he looked at you over the screen of his phone like you were a pain.
he couldn’t help the drowsy, sleepy look on his face when he shuddered at the feeling of your skin against his, only nodding in reply and earning himself an awkward glance away when he pulled his hand back hesitantly, leaving you to assume you’d offended him in some way when all he truly wants it to feel it again.
you tried, truly, and nagi knew this— he’d overheard you talking to both your parents before they left to go overseas for work again, slipping in a comment about how you don’t think sei-nii likes you much when you realise that it’s just going to be you both at home. you suck your pouty lips between your teeth nervously with the confession, and he can’t deny the sudden drop in his chest before he returns to his room silently as reassurances fall from his father, because it’s not that. not at all.
you just made him feel weird, he thinks as he lies in his bed now— fingers tapping away at the screen of the game on his phone as the sound bounces around his darkened room. it’s been maybe an hour or two since he heard his parents call out a “goodbye” leaving you both to fend for yourselves.
nagi didn’t dislike you, maybe he did avoid you a little or always seemed to leave the room when you entered, but it’s because he couldn’t help the way his drowsy gaze lingered on you whenever you were around him. it was easier that way to hide how his eyes would trail along your figure, trying to cover it up with mumbles as he tried to pretend he hadn’t just died in his game because he was gawking at his stepsister whenever you caught him — this is so bothersome.
he hated the way his heart would race whenever you sat next to him on the couch, and you always did. bouncing down next to him with a breathless sigh as you tried to watch him play, and it took everything in him not to reach out to pull you closer when your thigh grazed along his own, because older brothers shouldn’t do this, right?
maybe he should apologise to you, nagi thinks as he presses his snowy bangs between his fingers— cursing under his breath with the next game over across his screen before pulling himself up from his bed with a sigh as he stands. i mean what would a slacker like him even say? sorry your older brother thinks you’re hot? “what a pain.” he groans at the realisation.
after food though, the striker groans — scratching at his stomach under his oversized shirt before he’s lazily pulling open his bedroom door, shoving his hand messily down the waistband of his sweats as he makes his way to the kitchen. but he stops silently in the door way when he finds you there already, leaning over the counter and facing away from him as you tap away absentmindedly on your phone.
you haven’t noticed him yet and maybe that’s a good thing nagi realises when he finds his eyes trailing along your figure once more as he swallows heavily. the bright lights of the kitchen illuminate the curve of your hips and ass, and is that his shirt? falling along the skin delicately— almost teasing him, stopping just short of your thighs and he’s pretty sure if he bent down a little he’d be able to see—
“sei-nii? i thought you were gaming?” you breathe, turning to him slowly and he’s hoping you don’t notice the sharp inhale he takes in surprise before his face falls back to his usual sleepy expression. he clears his throat, breaking the silence as he tries to calm down his heart rate like he’s not flushed from his cheeks to his ears.
“eh, yeah. i died and jus’ got hungry i guess.” nagi grumbles, his voice coming out lower than he thought it would as he crosses the island of the kitchen until he’s standing across from you— trying to ignore the way your gaze on him is making his face burn even hotter.
but just when he’s sure he’s really blushing you turn away, shrugging your shoulders and opening the cabinet above you as he moves closer to take a look at what he can have.
you smell nice, kind of sweet, nagi realises when he steps closer— expecting you to move aside but when you only turn your attention back to your phone, he’s no other choice but to close the distance between you both. he furrows his brows as he reaches into the cabinet above you, steadying himself with his other hand on the counter but careful enough to keep some distance between your back and his chest.
but you’re so close, from this angle he can make out the curves of your figure even clearer now, his eyes narrowed and half lidded as he steals glances at your skin beneath him, careful to not get caught while he rummages around the cabinet. he’s trying not to focus on the way his skin feels warm at the close proximity, suddenly aware of how close his other hand is to your skin, his breathing becoming increasingly shallow when you sigh beneath him and he can’t help but inch closer.
“did you find some?” you hum, rising to stand straight again and your voice snaps nagi suddenly from his day dream before he can realise how close he is. the swell of your ass brushes against his crotch as he jumps slightly and he can’t help the sudden, involuntary buck of his hips to feel you closer as he bites back a groan so intensely it almost sounds like a snarl. he earns a gasp from you when his hand that was previously wrapped around the counter suddenly grabs your hips to keep you both steady.
he feels you tense when his fingers tighten into the flesh of your hips before you relax, and he’s unsure if it’s the dizzy spin of his mind that’s convinced him you’re pushing yourself closer to him, or if you feel exactly what he does too as the sudden atmosphere in the room becomes heavier.
nagi doesn’t think about it too much, he doesn’t let himself— he’s not a sister fucker, right? but another breathy— almost whimpered “sei-nii, i’m sorry.” falling from your lips earns you another needy twitch from his hips and cock as he’s pulled from another lewd daydream, tearing himself away from you with a “eh, ‘ts fine.” before he grabs the first bag of melon bread within reach and almost barrels down the hallway.
he slams his bedroom door behind him before his back hits the cool wood afterwards, a shakey exhale falling from his lips as he grumbles, letting his gaze fall to the now obvious bulge in his grey sweats, “ah.. what a bother.”
he shouldn’t, nagi thinks— throwing his snack onto his bed before he straightens up slightly, letting his head fall back against the door as his fingers smooth under the waistband of his sweats. this is so fucked up, the snowy haired striker thinks before he sighs and pushes down his sweats and boxers, allowing them to pool around his ankles as his heavy cock springs free.
he’s already sensitive as precum gathers at the blunt tip and he wraps his hand around the base— giving it a few shallow pumps before he hisses through his teeth.
nagi steadiest himself against the door as his thighs tremble, swiping his thumb along the beads of precum before smearing them along his thick shaft with a few lazy, languid pumps. his skin feels sticky as he continues his ministrations, thumping his head back against the door behind him as his eyes gloss over and flutter closed. not being able to control the way his mind goes over his last encounter with you as his hips buck, the fat head of his cock glistening and disappearing into his fist.
“fuck— such a pretty thing, ‘ts no fair.“ he grumbles, clenching his jaw as he recalls the way you said his name, your tone dreamy and honeyed everytime “sei-nii” falls from your lips, like it’s just for him and he can’t help but think about how much prettier it would sound through a moan.
nagi sloppily pumps his thick cock as he remembers just how the curve of his sisters ass felt against him, panting shamelessly at the way you relaxed into his embrace— like you trusted him, but would you still trust him knowing he was doing this right now?
“ah— feels good..” he huffs, pushing that thought from his hazed mind as he twists his hand around his cock just how he likes, imagining it was your hand instead as he forms a tight circle around the sensitive pink glands and squeezes. suddenly accidentally letting a shakey, languid moan of your name fall from his lips as his fingers graze over the sensitive head of his cock.
the squelching noises only grow louder, echoing through nagi’s dimly lit room as he loses himself in more thoughts of you— how you’d look underneath him, how warm your mouth would probably feel around him as you babble out “harder, sei-nii—“ from your pouty lips as his hands tighten on your hips again. he wants to feel more of you, see more of you.
his technique grows messier with each involuntary buck of his hips, more hushed groans falling from him as his tongue flicks out to drag along his lips. this is so fucked up— he’s so fucked up, but the thought of you beneath him as he sinks into your needy, glistening folds has him losing his mind as he grunts, clenching his teeth before his orgasm suddenly rips through him as he chokes on another needy moan of your name.
the familiar rush of heat ignites nagi’s nerves as he trembles, digging his heels into the plush carpet below him to steady himself as he spills over his hand and abdomen. thick ropes of cum drip down his fingers as he tries to swallow a deep but satisfied groan before he’s sliding down to sit against the door, burying his face into his one clean palm when what he’s done finally settles into the room.
“sei-nii? did you call me?” the snowy-haired striker jumps, slamming himself against the door as his heavy, drowsy eyes widen slightly— realising the position he’s in now, covered in cum after rubbing one out over his little sister. “fuck—eh, wasn’t me.. must’ve been a ghost i guess.”
but he can’t deny the way his cock still twitches at the sound of his name from your lips.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Tumblr media
warnings: none - !sfw
summary: y/n is a volleyball star who's teammate happens to be obsessed with a certain team's striker. For her friends birthday, she decides to get her a signed jersey but ends up trending because of a specific "encounter".
note: fem!reader x nagi seishiro / (f/v) = favorite vehicle / not proofread
Tumblr media
'I can't believe I'm fucking doing this...'
Yet here I was, driving myself in my (F/V) to a football stadium which I swore I would never step foot in since the age of 12.
Despite my better judgement, I didn't really have a choice since I already had a #11 football jersey that need to be signed and a bought ticket which is probably worth my rent right now. I wish I was joking.
"Holy crap- there's barely any parking."
I step out of my vehicle with my (F/C) sweatshirt, sunglasses and black biker shorts as well as my (F/C) sneakers to match. My hood and sunglasses where on to hide as much of my identity as possible, the last thing I need was my face trending all over twitter about me going to a football stadium despite my open dislike for the sport.
I walk in, submit my ticket, enter the actual stadium and finally take my seat in the best row possible. The jersey was in my leather, black backpack which had a volley ball charm and random cartoon character keychains and stickers all over it from carnival prizes. I sit with my arms crossed as I wait for the players to make their entrance. A large cup of (F/D) and a bucket of popcorn by my side to numb my misery for the next 90 mins, it's not like I hate the sport with every fibre of my being, It's actually the fans. If you ask me basketball is definitely superior, second to volleyball, but that's not a conversation people will ever be ready to talk about.
The football players start to walk into he field as the stadium gets noisier by the second. People cheering and chanting as I simply sit down and munch on my buttered popcorn.
'Thank goodness that these people aren't in my line of vision.'
Amongst the teams fileing in, I notice a tall (like really tall) white haired man make their way onto the pitch. I lift my sunglass up slightly and narrow my eyes just to make sure I'm seeing things clearly. He has large gray eyes that you would expect to be full of expression but hold literally not a hint of interest in them. I look down at his uniform and notice the #11 written in large on the back of his jersey, my mouth drops as I realize that my friend might actually be on to something.
"He's actually beautiful, wtf."
I mumble low enough so no one else could here. I quickly snap out of my trance as the voices of the crowd screaming snap me back to reality. A sudden pit of nervousness could be felt in my stomach as my eyes continue to follow his every move. For a split second, I notice him looking towards my direction as I pull the drawstrings of my hoodie to hide myself from embarrassment.
'Ok.. so maybe this might be A LOT harder to do than I thought. Should of just bought a signed jersey on Amazon.'
Tumblr media
The match finally ends with the screaming of fans from my side of the stadium as the counter finally hits 90:00. My mouth dropped, TO. THE. GROUND. As I try to process wtf just happened. A specific athlete managed to score the winning goal within the last 3 min, made 4 goals beforehand and manages to look as if what he did was normal. Anyone could tell that I was visibly shaking from all the adrenaline coursing through my veins simply by watching.
'THAT WAS SO- THAT WAS SO-'
I didn't know if it was my speechlessness or the running of a bunch of fans, trying to get a closer look at the winning team, that caused me to stutter so much. I blink a few times before I grab all my things and run just as quickly as them towards the same direction. The set up was like the one you would see in concerts, silver railing that reached just above my torso and many others to prevent fans from getting any closer.
I quickly grab the jersey from the safety of my backpack as I noticed a specific player about to enter my line of sight.
'I will get this signature, EVEN IF ITS KILLS ME!!'
But as if my motivation was some sort of sin, one of the many fans begins to constantly nudge me in the shoulder with her elbow as another does the same on the other side of where I stood. I lightly curse to myself as I begin to nudge them back. The nudging escalated until I was shoved forward harshly, causing the cheap railing to break, my hood and glasses falling off in the process as well. I close my eyes shut as I await to be greeted by the cold, hard floor. But to my surprise, (probably not yours lol) I don't. And it scares the shit out of me more.
I quickly cling to the piece of fabric shielding my face from a very toned chest as I feel a gentle set of arms wrap around my shoulders. I internally shudder at the sudden context as I mentally curse myself out, the grip on the jersey long gone as I finally find the courage to look up at the person who saved me from becoming the next meme of the month.
I'm met with a pair of gorgeous grey eyes, opened wide probably because of the sudden reveal of my identity or the quality of the railing.
'Kill me now.'
I give him a nervous close-eyed smile as his eyes casts over to the now wrinkled #11 jersey on the floor, his brows furrowed in the process.
"Haha, you wouldn't mind signing that right? It for a friend yk..."

Since my previous posts talked about elementals. I want to write an essay about them from my perspective and possible theories and headcanon I gathered so far. It might not be accurate so fill me in if you want to add or correct some of it. I love open discussion ^^
I've seen some people thought that in the early season, all elementals had not have characteristics but changed after Halilintar's incident.
Boboiboy's emotions under circumstances not only triggered the true self of available elementals, but it also awakened the other elemental powers as well(hence how the rest 4 were born) like what anon said here.
This is gonna be looooong ted talk so I have to spilt this in two parts!
What I want to talk about is how interesting their character development throughout the series. Starting with the original trio!
Tumblr media
(That 3rd picture lasted for a few minutes... I didn't even notice their communication at first. :'()
Their development was that drastic in the youth era. The unstoppable "the fun, the serious and the tough one"(edit: more like, "The Striker, Tacklerer, and The Goal Keeper in soccer terms. Don't ask why I thought about this a lot) which sparks Boboiboy as the hero of Pulau Rintis. But, it's starting to decrease during Galaxy onwards.
I know I know they need to blend with the others as well. (They got most of the screen time in every series after all). I already talked about it here.
(People say this year indirectly the reunion of this trio I guess? Windara and Gentaraju animated arc? ...
but... aaah well... my head's spinning right now >_<)
Halilintar/Thunderstorm.
What more to say about this person? haha, I've already talked about it from anon in the first link I put on before and this one.
But still, from the very first moment he arrived till today, I am almost certain my hypothesis then and now is coming true. Being just created as "the cool, serious" side of Boboiboy, This 'talk less, do slash more' guy unknowingly becomes the tsundere eldest due to his tragic incident.
He is such a supportive person behind that murder mask. Seeing rare moments that he actually cares for others whenever he can is an absolute miracle. God, the season 2 comic and Sori continuingly showed his soft side from youth era. wtf my 12-year-old me is screaming right now! aaarghh! :3
(But that face in ep 5 when he's strangled lmaooooo X'D)
Taufan/Cyclone
One of my favorite things that I know about him is he enjoys whenever he's out. He truly loves all the thrilling fights, if not get the vibe, he instantly goes into a bad mood. Every poster I saw about him, always with his smile and never faded. That's why I was shocked when I saw his decision in Windara's arc. Finally, the man he always wanted to be, bravely giving it all in one v one fight. I'm so proud of him! T^T
His easygoing attitude reminds me of a certain hedgehog I knew hehe...both resemble the wind itself right? :] (I need to draw them in June)
Leading the Troublemaker trio is always fun to watch. And the fact that he looks at Hali as his role model is really cute! Despite him and Hali being the first two elements who had civil fights before, a bit sad these two are independent on their own from Galaxy onwards :'(
Gempa/Quake
Gempa got me confirmation that he is the leader of the elementals from the very first fight till now. I can see why he has the closest resemblance to Boboiboy himself (hence the hat position :] ).
To be fair, Gempa is the only elemental that I see no difference with Boboiboy. And with being one of the strongest elementals(with embedded two giant stone hands), he sure is a low-profile person and easily blends with other elementals. Now I know why he gets the title "Mama Gempa". He is unknowingly taking too much care of every elementals like a family ^^)' .
Even tho he's the last power to be introduced(in this trio) and sometimes people see him as a lone wolf in the group, he's natural at giving orders. The others actually listen to him and get scolded if they messed up! Like how parents do! X'D
How about the Temper Duo?
Tumblr media
(Why monsta didn't put this dialog to Sori? :''(( )
How fitting the theme song of movie 2 titled Fire and water as well? Hehe.
Being the first two powers to be fused(the coolest name, "Frostfire" :} ), these two are what most people like to call "The polar opposites". The ones that used two hoodies in the youth era(except now only Ice wears it), the ones that had back-to-back introductions (exactly after Fire arrived, water showed up in the next episode, Galaxy season 1 also showcased the exact same pattern), the only two powers survived in movie 2, and even their own original masters lived in the same planet.
I'd say if these elementals do be brothers, these two were most likely born twins. (I know I may be late to this headcanon but hey why not? :/)
Blaze
The gremlin boi who got more screentime in sori than his partner. I absolutely adore this boy in Galaxy onwards. His wild and reckless traits are always the main attraction whenever I watch his combat style. I still think since season 3 and movie 1 He should've gotten a brass knuckle type as a weapon than the fire disc. He's a close combat brawler, right?
Anyway, he might be the one who hasn't changed much since his youth until now. In fact, I'd say he is a pretty consistent character from the start. Only gets wilder and cheekier to his fellow elementals tehee~. But that's the beauty of having a friend like Blaze. If done right, Blaze could shock you with his kindness and care deeply for others. Just like how he did with Duri once he accidentally broke Duri's plant in one of Boboiboy's official posts. (Sori ep 3 and comic made my day lmao)
Tumblr media
Ais/Ice
If I can relate to one elemental, I choose Ice. He likes to eat yet is frightened to get fat like he did in his youth era; a very sleepy person; also an introverted person but he is confident when surrounded by his closest circle. And most of my friends are usually the Blaze type. So I can understand how to handle that person ^^)'
Ehem. Ice's first tier, Air/Water, got me confused at first. Mainly how he summons his power. Somehow Ice fixed that issue. Making his right arm purely made of ice is genius. My headcanon is every weapon or power he uses comes from his right arm. His cannon comes from his right arm, the same as the bow & arrow one. Even so, many scenes contradict that(Boboiboy is an ambidextrous guy).
Can I say I'm glad from Galaxy onwards he's a bit more open than in his youth era or just me? This doesn't count during the transition mode. All I see now is that he showed more emotions than Hali. (Also whoever decided Ice's tears become snowflakes, I salute you sir)
Last but not least! The Photosynthesis duo!
Tumblr media
(I talk about this scene before but holy shit this scene is always mesmerizing to watch)
Duri and Solar were also made me adore them if not because of season 2 & Sori. Okay, I have to confess first to avoid misconception:
I was disappointed when Duri and Solar showed up in movie 1.
My selfish youth still took some time to get used to with Fire and Water in season 3. And all I think was negative reactions when Duri and Solar showed up. That's... also the reason why I went on hiatus.
Luckily, hence the word "was" I put it there.
I'm very grateful that they reset his watch back to start, so then they can at least make a proper debut with both Duri and Solar in Galaxy series. I much prefer that method. (That last episode was truly huge, I'm shocked they went that grand)
Therefore, Sori could continue to make the audience know better about these two! Pretty creative I'd say! I can see why the last three episodes are fan favorites. Me personally love eps 5 & 6.
Duri/Thorn
The most unique symbol to draw to, Duri truly shines in galaxy 2 comic and Sori. His debut in galaxy 1--oh wait, in Eid Fitri's short video after movie 1 made me confused with Taufan at first. Even though he's got more screen time than Solar, Duri still surprised people with the recent series. Who knew his childish and clumsy features could do unverbal damage to enemies by his words? Count me in! He might not do that to his friends and families, but he will delightedly do so with Solar :D
And thanks to Sori, I can now differentiate between Taufan and Duri more clearly. His design in Sori especially the last three is my fav. I love what Monsta did the effects on his arms. Since he doesn't has a signature weapon, they create a 2D flash-winded green leaf around his arm like a coil. That is a very cute detail for Duri.
A bit surprised when every elemental went to serious mode in Windara's arc, only Duri still managed to find fun in the battle. Heck even Taufan dropped his smile during that.
Solar
Being the trump card of the group, I can see why he is the last elemental to be introduced, both in movie 1 and galaxy series. The hardest one to obtain his 2nd tier that requires proper research and pure luck, Solar's traits are also what makes him interesting. To be honest I didn't expect his characteristic to be like this, at all. And somehow very matched with his design and attack as well. Every aspect is strangely in synch I'm astonished. (Adding a visor to his 2nd tier is uhh *chef's kiss B=) )
Also, I love that his attacks use his finger that's also kinda easter egg of the famous "Ray Gun!" shot attack from Yu Yu Hakusho(look it up, there's a live-action ver if you want to know the short ver of the series. The anime itself is legendary to all weebs out there).
Tumblr media
Regardless of his limited screentime in every series. I'm very much grateful Monsta treats him equally. His timing in Sori is exceptional and his popularization bursting successfully. My only hope he didn't get cut in Windara and let all elementals showed up. When was the last time Boboiboy did that without splitting to 7?....
... Well if you count heptasplit part, the last time he did that was in Movie 1. That's 9 years ago.
Now we're done here? Nice! Onto the theory part in reblog!

Score A Goalie - Clàudia Pina x Reader
The first time you saw Clàudia Pina was during your first year with Atlético Madrid. She was on loan from Barcelona to Sevilla, and ended up getting a yellow card, Sevilla losing 3-0 to Atlético Madrid. Sevilla turned the tables though when meeting Atlético Madrid again months later, winning 3-2. She had intrigued you since the first match, but now she was back at Barcelona, and you were heading with the rest of Atlético Madrid to play against them for an away game. Lola was playing this match, but she’d told you what she told you every time she played, to watch her in goal.
You knew you would fail to do what Lola said before the match even started. Because you’d spotted Clàudia Pina in Barcelona’s line-up in the tunnel and walked straight into Carmen when you made eye contact with the Barcelona striker.
The match started, but your eyes strayed from Lola in goal to a certain striker on the opposing team, watching her throughout the game.
Barcelona were in the lead by half-time, having watched Oshoala score at the 35th minute. You were still watching Clàudia carefully as Carmen was subbed off and sat next to you on the bench. She was about to speak when she spotted how you weren’t even looking at where the ball was, about to nudge you out of your daydreams but you frowned as Clàudia was subbed off at the 62nd minute for Lieke Martens.
Carmen watched as Clàudia turned her head, looking directly at you with a smile that had you softly smiling at the ground instead, messing with the laces of your boots to try to hide it. Trying to hide how something as small as a smile could leave your hands shaking.
The match ended at 3-0 for a Barcelona win, Carmen heading over to Lola as you followed, lingering in the goal, wrapped up in your thoughts. They probably expected you to follow them over to where they were talking to some Barcelona players they knew from the national team, but you leaned your back against the goal post, tugging on the velcro of your goalie glove to remove it.
“Hola.”
Glancing up from your gloves, you froze as Clàudia stood in front of you, smiling as you managed to say “hola” back to her. The two of you gazing into each other’s eyes a little too much for people who were just introducing themselves to each other, but Clàudia smiled more, amused by you forgetting Spanish more and more as the two of you spoke.
“You come here often?”
Clàudia broke out into a grin as you cringed, realising what you had just said.
“To the Estadi? Si, I do, do you?”
“I play for Madrid… this is my second time in this stadium, never seen much outside of it.” You managed to say, watching as Clàudia leaned in slightly, resting her hand above your head on the goal post, it was a little awkward but you were unfazed, too distracted by what Clàudia said next.
“Maybe I could show you Barcelona one day?”
“I’d like that… um… ouch!” You managed to reply before turning your head, spotting Lola, Carmen and V watching with some of Clàudia’s teammates as your foot slipped, your back sliding down the goal post as you landed on your butt. Looking up at Clàudia who looked just as flustered as you felt, you scrambled up and over to your smirking teammates, leaving Clàudia to watch you walk away. Her hand still lingered in the air for a moment, you hadn’t spotted it due to your hurry over to your teammates.
Lola was about to pull you into her, as she was ready to introduce you, her mini-me goalie, to her friends at Barcelona, but instead you ducked your head, gently hiding your face in V’s shoulder.
“Now you’ve gone shy?”
“I forgot how to speak Spanish.” You murmured only loud enough for V to hear, but apparently still too loud as Carmen and Lola both laughed slightly, trying to hide it but you peeked out from V’s shoulder to glare at them.
“Our child is gay panicking.” Carmen pointed out to an amused Lola, nudging the goalie slightly with a smirk as she realised Pina was walking over.
“You’re all the worst.” You declared, raising an eyebrow as V handed you over to a waiting Lola, wrapping her arm around you as she introduced you to her Barcelona friends, introducing you as the baby goalie she had adopted in everything but legally after returning from Lyon.
“Baby goalie… missing a glove?” Alexia pointed out, gesturing to your one gloved hand, the other gloveless.
“Um…”
“You had them both when we were on the bench.” Carmen smirked, gesturing to Lola with her eyes as Pina tapped you on the shoulder, holding out your goalie glove to you.
“Dank je wel.”
Everyone did a double take as Dutch left your mouth, leaving you to grimace, covering your face with your gloves. Lola turned her head to ask Carmen how long you had been hanging out with Merel outside of practice, making your face burn even more.
“You need to shower. You smell.” You pointed out as Lola held you closer to her, raising an eyebrow at your statement as you grinned, “you do though, you’re all sweaty- eee!” A squeal left your lips as Lola smirked, about to retaliate but you wiggled out of her hold, almost running directly into Pina as you booked it for the tunnel.
“You adopted a gay disaster.” Jenni smirked, but Lola and Carmen immediately turned to defend you.
“Your child put the moves on them.” Referring to Pina, Alexia and Jenni glanced around the field, wondering where Clàudia had gone. The young striker-midfielder was nowhere to be seen, the conclusion being she’d hurried off away from your protective teammates, and her protective teammates too.
///
It didn’t take long for you to notice the specific account now following you on Instagram, or, following you back, since you’d followed Clàudia’s instagram account back when you saw her with Sevilla.
Refreshing your notifications, you paused as you saw her username pop up twice more, one notification from her liking a post from a photoshoot you’d reposted from Atlético Madrid of you standing between Carmen and Lola, grinning into the camera. If you swiped sideways on the post, there were more photos of the three of you, one including Lola ruffling your hair, another with a group hug with V as well. The other notification was from a photo dump you’d posted of your holiday during the offseason, travelling to a few places in Croatia, although the rest of your pictures were in your highlights.
Tapping her profile, you’d already liked her post from a few days ago, but you tapped the notifications on, something you only did for a few people, including Lola, Carmen and Virginia. You had no idea that Clàudia had done the same thing once she had a glance at your profile, or longer than a glance, there was a full body mirror selfie from your trip to Croatia over the summer that distracted her for a minute.
It took a few days for you back in Madrid to post on your socials, selecting a photo that had been taken during training of you catching an incoming ball and posting it.
Clàudia stood on the pitch, observing Alexia practising her free kicks after training was over, when her phone beeped, gaining her attention and the attention of Aitana, Patri and Jenni too.
“Anyone interesting?” Patri enquired, glancing over at Clàudia, but Jenni looked over the young striker’s shoulder, spotting the notification immediately.
“Notifications on for Lola Jr? Already?” Jenni smirked, glancing at a confused Patri and Aitana as Clàudia’s face burned.
“Who?”
“Lola’s mini version, goalie for Atlético Madrid.” Jenni elaborated, getting her own phone out to load your profile on instagram.
“You think they are cute, yes?” Aitana asked, smiling at Clàudia, who gave a noncommittal hum, typing something on her phone before quickly locking the screen.
Alexia looked over at the sound of Jenni laughing and/or choking, it was unclear but she went from watching her shot go into the net to spotting Jenni dying over something and pointing at Clàudia.
“What is happening?”
“Flame emoji! Flame emoji!” Jenni pointed at Clàudia, who refused to look any of them in the eye, her face burning as her phone beeped with another notification.
Hiding the screen from her teammates, Clàudia’s eyes widened as she saw you had replied to her comment with a heart emoji, before responding to several comments to your teammates who had spotted Clàudia’s comment, their responses being the eyes emoji, whilst your response to them was an eyeroll.
Alexia raised an eyebrow, looking between Clàudia’s flustered expression, a grinning Jenni and two confused midfielders in the form of Aitana and Patri, until Jenni passed Alexia her phone to show your post.
“Stalking Lola’s baby goalie?” Alexia looked at the post in confusion, until Jenni pointed out the comments section, and Alexia’s confusion turned into a soft smile.
“You like them?” Alexia enquired, scrolling to spot your reply to Clàudia’s comment, and the replies from your teammates teasing you both already.
“Notifications on already.” Jenni added, waving as Patri and Aitana headed over to where one of the staff members was calling them, leaving Alexia and Jenni with the blushing young striker.
“Already?” Alexia chuckled, passing Jenni her phone back by putting her arm around Clàudia’s shoulder, the three walking around the pitch for a while.
///
You rolled your eyes at your teammates’ replies to Clàudia’s comment, about to close the app when your notifications began to increase again. Tapping back onto your profile, it refreshed to show your new post, and an increase in followers. Swiping back onto your notifications, you almost dropped your phone as you recognised the Barcelona players’ instagram accounts that were now following you, or technically, following you back…
Moving on from your notifications of your follower count, you refreshed the page to spot there was another comment on your post, from Jenni, who had tagged Lola in her comment, teasing Lola and you about something. Glancing over the comment, it took you a moment to realise Jenni was teasing Lola about you being a mini version of her. Liking Jenni’s comment that translated to ‘they’re a mini you!’ about Lola, you closed the app and went to get ready to meet Carmen, Lola and V for dinner.
///
That dinner was filled with teasing comments from your teammates, with V even asking if you remember how to speak Spanish again, whilst Lola talked about Jenni’s comment, and Carmen smirked and brought up Pina, her flame emoji and your heart emoji response, leaving you to slide down in your seat, wishing the food would arrive quickly.
The teasing didn’t stop as the food arrived though, hiding your face with your hands as you ate was messy when cutlery was involved, but you could pretend like it was shielding you from their teasing, not realising that Lola had taken a group photo with you covering your face until you were tagged in her stories after dinner.
Sharing Lola’s photo on your stories, you added an eye roll emoji and a heart before your phone lit up that it needed charging. Heading over to grab your charger, your notifications lit up with comments on your story, Lola teasing you for being shy, whilst Clàudia commented on it herself, sliding into your direct messages with a ‘camera shy?’
“Assholes.” You grumbled after plugging in your phone to charge as you found that some of your other teammates were now teasing you through your instagram messages, whilst Lola, Carmen and V took to the group chat you were in, pausing as you spotted Clàudia’s response to your story.
Sucking in a breath, your fingers hovered over the keys, quickly replying before your phone had any ideas about dying, you hit send on that message, opening the group chat immediately to type.
‘She thinks I'm camera shy!’
Letting out a groan, you glared at Carmen’s reply of ‘but you are’ with V adding ‘just a little’, leaving all three of them on read after Lola realised you and Clàudia were now DM-ing too.
///
The DM-ing turned into sharing numbers and getting to know each other better, but the distance between Madrid and Barcelona was still there, so neither of you could easily meet in person, free days didn’t line up and Clàudia had international duty with Lola. Whilst Lola and Clàudia had international duty, you were in Madrid with Carmen and V, venturing out of Madrid to Toledo during one of the many international breaks.
Currently Lola was away on one of those many international breaks, leaving you to hang out with Carmen and V, the three of you taking the time off to rest, and watch any international friendlies you could find. This time you were on your own, sipping on a blue slushie and messing with the paper straw as it began to turn to mush a bit.
Clàudia sat on her phone, tapping through her instagram stories lost in thought when her notifications popped up, revealing you had added to your close friends stories. Opening your story, Clàudia smiled to herself as she was met with a selfie of you sticking your tongue, revealing the blueness from your slushie whilst you winked at the camera.
Typing out a response asking about that meme with blue and red slushies making purple, Clàudia tensed as a person loomed over her, turning her head to reveal Lola raising an eyebrow at the message Clàudia had just sent.
“You have gotten close to my mini-me.” Lola folded her arms, watching the young striker carefully for any microexpressions she could miss. Lola didn’t see how Alexia and Jenni were watching carefully in the doorway though.
“We are friends.”
“Friends? You’re asking about red and blue slushies and turning their tongue purple with your tongue.” Lola deadpanned, frowning as Clàudia looked confused for a moment, before realising what she had said, quickly checking her phone to see if you had replied already, and you had.
‘Wow, take me on a date first before making out with me;)’
Lola was ready to call you at that moment. V and Carmen had told her you were still failing at flirting, despite their attempts, but that winking face said otherwise.
“Lola, what’s going on?” Alexia and Jenni walked over, Alexia raising an eyebrow to Clàudia, her hand going to Clàudia’s in comfort, whilst Jenni looked to Lola, who let out a sigh.
“Our children are flirting now.”
Jenni’s eyes lit up with intrigue, whilst Alexia focussed on Clàudia and how flustered the young striker was getting.
“Finally? What did you say?” Jenni turned to Clàudia, who immediately locked her phone, not seeing your second message apologising for your boldness.
“Just know, if you two keep me up by talking on the phone at night again, I won’t be happy. Next match against Barcelona will be fun, mini-me is tough to score goals against…”
“She wants to score the goalie!” Jenni added with a grin, hearing Alexia hold in her laugh in favour of comforting the blushing striker, who had been unaware up until now that Lola knew about the late night phone calls to each other.
“Teach your child to flirt better.” Lola sassed back to Jenni and Alexia before heading away to call Carmen and tell her what had happened.
///
“She left me on read… this is why I don’t like learning how to flirt from you all! Now I’ve ruined everything and it’s awkward- wait, she replied! Hey!” You ended up meeting with V after having your slushie in the park, with V figuring out quickly who you were messaging by the grin on your face, but the flirting advice from Lola, Carmen and V (in your opinion) sucked, especially after Clàudia had left you on read, making you panic.
“What are you typing?” You watched carefully as V typed something on your phone, pressing send and smiling at you.
“What did you just do?” You looked confusedly at your phone as Clàudia was typing something, but V just smirked, messaging Carmen and Lola instead of giving you an answer.
‘Just wait until you are in Barcelona again’
‘You did promise me a tour’
“I need to stop telling you things.” You deadpanned, remembering how you had told V about Clàudia offering to give you a tour of Barcelona next time you were in the city.
“You’re welcome.” V replied, reaching over to tickle your sides as you rolled your eyes at her, your phone forgotten as you burst out into laughter.
///
The next time you saw Clàudia and the rest of her Barcelona teammates was for the final of the Supercopa de España Femenina. Carmen was starting, whilst you sat on the bench with Lola and V. Clàudia was also sat on her team’s bench, having smiled at you as you leaned past Lola to smile back, until Lola spotted you leaning forwards, saw you smiling at Pina and proceeded to start tickling you.
At the 59th minute, Carmen came to join the three of you on the bench, subbing off for Bárbara. Deyna came to join the four of you after subbing off at the 72nd minute, but you were almost vibrating with energy, a knowing look in your eye as you looked at V, who didn’t understand at the time.
“Did you have sugar before the match or something?” V raised an eyebrow, looking to Carmen and Lola for an explanation but Deyna chuckled, shaking her head at the scene.
Everything changed at the 85th minute, V returning to the pitch after returning to training back in March last year, receiving a standing ovation from the public, the entire bench of Atlético Madrid players cheering, you jumping up and down until Carmen joined in, wrapping her arm around your shoulders. It didn’t matter that your team was losing 6-0, watching V return to the field to play meant more.
Your cheering caught Clàudia’s attention as she watched her captain hug Virginia, everyone welcoming her back onto the pitch to play the last remaining minutes as Lieke Martens scored another goal, taking it to 7-0. The match ended and players gathered to celebrate, throwing V into the air.
Turning around to see whoever had just tapped you in the shoulder, you smiled softly as Clàudia stood in front of you, smiling softly back.
“Hola.”
“Hola.”
Opening your mouth to speak, it promptly closed as Jenni wrapped her arm around Clàudia, standing behind her like a parent behind their child, but the amused sparkle in Jenni’s eye had you more nervous than any disapproving glare could.
Someone hugging you from behind had you turning your head slightly, recognising the sleeves of the jersey as a goalie one, you knew it was Lola holding you in her arms, staring down Jenni as Clàudia kept her gaze on you, an apologetic look on her face but you shook your head.
“Taught your child to flirt better yet?” Lola began, raising an eyebrow at Jenni, who almost laughed back. You glanced slightly to the side, spotting Carmen, V and Alexia watching the ongoing scene. Waving to the three, you laughed as Lola held you a little tighter.
“You’re lucky, you don’t stink today.”
Lola gasped at your comment, feeling you wiggle out of her hug and hurry away before Jenni could even finish her sentence asking whether you still remembered how to speak Spanish around Clàudia or not.
It didn’t take long for Clàudia to hurry after you, having taken a leaf out of your book and telling Jenni, who had played the 90+4 minutes and gotten a yellow card during it, that she should probably shower, then hurrying away before Jenni could realise what had been said.
Clàudia found you leaning over the advertising boards trying to grab something, her hands gently hovering over your hips as you almost fell forwards.
“Got it!” You grinned, eyes widening as you realised Clàudia still had her hands on your hips as you stood back up, presenting her with your find. A leftover football.
“Wanna play?” You proposed, raising an eyebrow as you held the ball in your hands, head tilting to the side slightly as you awaited Clàudia’s answer. The young striker’s face lit up with a grin, taking your hand and leading you over to the goal.
“What are they-” Alexia murmured, spotting you and Clàudia over by the advertising boards, too close to each other as Clàudia’s hands were on your hips, but the ball in your hands separated the two of you, heading over to the goal.
“They aren’t warmed up…” Jenni added but Lola, Carmen and V knew better.
“Mini-me’s favourite game, sometimes we go to the park on an off-day, but they just want to be in goal.” Lola explained, snorting as you stopped Clàudia’s first few shots at goal easily.
“She wants that one?” Jenni teasingly whispered to an amused Alexia, watching as you and Clàudia playfully goaded each other on, with you blocking Clàudia’s shots at goal.
“Clàudia!”
Clàudia turned her head to look at whoever called her name, not meaning to trip as she kicked the ball towards the goal during her run-up, falling forwards until gloved hands caught her face gently. The ball went into the net, but that didn’t matter as you were on the ground, Clàudia on top of you with her face in your hands.
You could hear Jenni laughing even from across the pitch, but you didn’t glance over to the group, instead staring up at Clàudia, who was currently looking like she was about to do push-ups with you under her.
Whilst Jenni had broken out into laughter loudly, V and Carmen had the decency to hold back theirs, whilst Alexia’s eyes widened in shock at the scene, and Lola’s jaw dropped in surprise.
“You alright?” you whispered as Clàudia opened her eyes, staring down at you in shock.
“Well, shit. You scored.”
Clàudia smirked as she stared down at you, hurriedly getting up as she felt eyes on you both, no doubt some fans had recorded the entire interaction too.
“Dos.”
“Two? What do you mean two? You frowned, looking confused as Clàudia watched you pick up the ball with a look in her eye you weren’t quite sure how to analyse.
“A goal, and a goalie.” Clàudia replied, kissing your cheek before walking away. Not looking back, she didn’t see you drop the football in your hands, or how you were frozen to that spot on the pitch, Lola watching Clàudia with a raised eyebrow, as Alexia laughed, going over to ask Clàudia what had happened, whilst Jenni cheered and went for the high-five.
Carmen and V were the ones to walk over to you, both amused as you stopped staring into space, realising that Clàudia was gone and your teammates were in front of you.
“Not as hopeless…” Carmen whispered, pulling you into a side-hug as V did the same, about to tease you but you murmured something that had them looking at Clàudia.
“She scored a goalie.”
///
You didn’t want to wait until May to see Clàudia again, with the match against Barcelona being Atlético Madrid’s final of the season, so you did something impulsive. You took a train from Madrid to Barcelona, texting Clàudia updates throughout the nearly 3 hour journey as you grew more and more excited to see the Barcelona forward/midfielder.
It was only after you uploaded a clip of the surroundings out the train window that Carmen called you, asking why you were on a train and where you were going, who you were with or who you were meeting, she also asked how long the train journey was.
“About three hours-”
“You’re going to Barcelona. To see Pina. Wow…” Carmen trailed off before you heard her call Lola from another room, the two conversing as Lola then took the phone, saying she’d call Jenni and Alexia to make sure you were picked up from the train station safely.
“You two are not dating, but you will take a 3 hour train journey for her-” Carmen was cut off as you hung up on her, staring out the train window in thought. Would Clàudia even want to see you?
///
Clàudia didn’t expect you to text that you were on a train to Barcelona, but you gave her an out. If she was busy, you’d spend some time in the city on your own, then Alexia called and told her that Lola had called her, asking her and Jenni to pick you up from the train station. Clàudia let out a breath, admitting she was still panicking over where she wanted to take you for your tour of Barcelona.
Telling Alexia that was probably a bad idea in hindsight, because now the Barcelona captain and Jenni were chaperoning you and her around the streets of Barcelona.
“Ay, Lola said no slushies!” Jenni called out as she spotted you eyeing the slushie machine in the window of a shop, calling out again when she saw you roll your eyes, keeping on walking with Clàudia instead.
“How well do you know these streets?” you enquired gently, making sure that Jenni and Alexia could neither hear you, or lipread you as you came up with a plan in your head. One that you had used against your teammates in the past in Madrid, but you didn’t know Barcelona as well.
Clàudia raised an eyebrow slightly, flashing you a smile as you gave her a playful smirk.
“Well enough that,” you licked your lips, “we could lose your team mums chaperoning us?” you tilted your head to the sight, watching as Clàudia glanced around before nodding slightly.
“Vamos?” you murmured, pretending to look over a book stand as Clàudia took your hand gently, watching how Alexia spotted the hand holding first, smiling softly whilst Jenni got more excited, forgetting Lola’s request to be given updates on you in Barcelona at that point.
The two chaperones had been walking a little further back, so seeing you and Clàudia stop to look at a book stand had Alexia nudging Jenni to stop walking.
She didn’t expect to glance over again and realise you and Clàudia were gone, hitting Jenni in the arm, she scanned the area trying to spot the two of you, but Clàudia was speedy, and you were fast for a goalie.
“Where did they go?” Alexia murmured, glancing around more but the two of you had disappeared, with Jenni chuckling to herself, her laughter growing as the minutes went on.
“Did you see?”
“They ran away, holding hands!” Jenni laughed before her face fell into panic.
“Lola is going to kill me.”
///
“I think we lost them…” you whispered, still holding Clàudia’s hand as you both arrived at wherever Clàudia had led you, turning to face Clàudia.
“Can I kiss you?” Clàudia quietly asked, not expecting your free hand to gently cup her cheek, or you to give her a playful smile.
“I thought you would never ask.” you teased before leaning in, allowing Clàudia a moment before she closed the gap between the two of you.
///
The trips to Barcelona when you had off days increased slightly, although some were still impulsive as you’d hide away waiting for Clàudia to be done with training some times, or you’d get a train straight after training.
Getting a train straight after training was probably a bad idea looking back at it. Because now you were back in Madrid, staring at your kit bag which you’d hurriedly put together after Clàudia put your kit into the wash.
Your shorts? Present and accounted for. Boots? Check. Socks. Yet.  Your jersey however? Well, last time you checked, you didn’t play for Barcelona or have Pina on the back of your jersey… also it wasn’t a goalie jersey.
Letting out a sigh, you grabbed a long sleeved undershirt, looking for your spare goalie jersey but getting nowhere.
“Mini-me, vamos! What is taking so- ay dios… where is your spare?” Lola asked but you shrugged, letting out a squeak as Lola took Clàudia’s jersey from you, putting it over your head for you before she gestured for you to follow her out onto the field.
///
The teasing didn’t stop, even after you ended up wearing one of Lola’s spare goalie jerseys, only locating your own spare after realising that it had been hidden from you. One key moment stuck in your mind though, as photos of you in Clàudia’s jersey made their way onto social media. Your teammates joking that you better not be transferring to Barcelona, whilst the Barcelona girls tagged Clàudia, thinking they could embarrass the young forward.
Instead, you received a message from Clàudia.
‘Pina suits you’
Typing your reply after 10 minutes of staring at the screen in shock, you let out a staggered breath.
‘We will see.’
Another thing to note was that Lola had posted a photo of you wearing her jersey as you stood in goal, adding ‘mini-me’ to the post, but also sparking some teasing for Lola, as you joked that you were coming for her number 1, getting tickled a lot the next time Lola saw you.
///
It finally got to the last game of the season. Atlético Madrid against Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. Barcelona were expecting Lola in goal, she was perfectly healthy and Atlético Madrid’s first choice of goalie, the number 1. So when they saw Lola giving you a pep talk, her hands on your shoulders before pulling you into a hug as everyone gathered in the tunnel, they were thrown slightly. You were going to be in goal for your team. It shouldn’t have mattered, but Clàudia looked at Jenni and Alexia with a knowing look. You loved being a goalkeeper, Lola had known this when she took you under her wing, and Clàudia knew this every time you stepped into that goal, official game or just playing in the park. You loved the challenge, and thrived under them.
Your gaze lingered on Lola and V sat on the bench as you rolled your shoulders, nodding to yourself as Lola gave you a thumbs up, both of them cheering for you. Laia and Carmen both glanced back to smile at you too, before everyone’s eyes were drawn forwards for the game to start.
Clàudia knew from the mischievous smirk on your face that you were excited, even as she sat on Barcelona’s bench, she knew you would love every second of this match, not caring that it was the last one of the season, because you had learnt to wreak havoc on goal, even when Lola was the primary goalkeeper of Atlético’s official matches. Barcelona were in for a challenge to keep their winning streak.
The media had quoted Merel, talking about how Atlético worked to find solutions for whatever was thrown at them. One of the solutions for this match? Put Lola’s mini-me goalie in. A lot of your teammates were leaving after this season, so you wanted to make this one count, your captain putting her hand on your shoulder so you’d stop almost vibrating in place during the line-ups.
You watched carefully from your penalty area, the ball reaching you as it hit the third minute, passing it towards your teammate after a quick glance at where Barcelona were positioning themselves. You could almost hear Lola in your head as you observed the game, passing the ball whenever it was passed back to you, re-organising your defensive line when Barcelona looked like they were getting close too. Five minutes in, you were sending a free kick forward, reminding many of the players of Lola as you positioned yourself similar to your mentor, but there was a flare to it that was all your own.
Eight minutes in, you were catching a ball heading into the box before Graham Hansen could get to it, sending it back out quickly. Less than two minutes later you’d scoop up another ball heading for goal, taking a moment to glance around before kicking it flying across the pitch to your teammates. Ten minutes in and you’re setting up for a corner, Mapi León taking the kick, you spotted Paredes about to send it in, Barcelona thinking they had their first goal of the match, but you moved quickly, catching the ball before it fell or was kicked across the goal line, throwing everyone off slightly.
Lola smiled as she watched you hold the ball in your arms, knowing things may have gone differently had she herself been in goal compared to you.
The game resumed, still at 0-0 as Barcelona began to attempt for a goal again, but all that came from it was another corner. Mapi León took the kick again, but in the end Mariona sent it over the bar. Another goal kick for you by the thirteenth minute.
Maitane got a yellow card for a late challenge on Mariona, giving Barcelona a free kick, but all it ended up with was you taking another goal kick just shy of the seventeenth minute. Deflecting Aitana’s shot, Barcelona received another corner that your teammates cleared away, but Paños made the save in the end, Atlético earning a corner that your captain took.
Graham Hansen tried to send the ball in, but you deflected it back into the pile of bodies in the box, eventually leading to another corner for Barcelona, Graham Hansen taking it this time, you punching the ball away, readjusting yourself as Aitana sent the ball in again, stepping further forwards to almost hit your head on the post as you stopped the ball from crossing the goal line.
Twenty three minutes in and the game resumed. Carmen sent a ball away from goal before it would reach you, but Barcelona kept their shots coming until you caught the ball in your hands. Nearly twenty seven minutes in, and Barcelona had another corner that ended up heading up the other end of the field.
The booing was noticeable by Barcelona fans as Merel’s challenge was late, sending Barcelona’s captain into the ground, curled up for a moment before getting up again, the ref getting out a yellow card for your defender. The free kick ended up with Alexia offside, the whistle blown before any advancements on goal could be made. You sent the ball in far again, watching in anticipation for what would happen next. Running forwards, you twisted your body to block the ball from going out of play, catching it but glancing at the officials who ruled the ball still in play, although you’d thought you hadn’t kept it in for a moment.
The drinks break gave you the opportunity to grab some water, your eyes drifting to where Clàudia was looking at you, hiding her smile as Carmen caught your attention, her arm around your shoulders as you closed the water bottle and gave it back.
Sending the ball back up the pitch as play resumed, you watched carefully as Barcelona charged back up the pitch with it, courtesy of Jenni who tried to send it in from a distance, ending up sending the ball directly into your arms to throw back in.
Patri tried to send the ball in next from afar, but you caught that one too, Clàudia chewing her lip as she carefully watched, enjoying the feistiness and passion that was obvious from you in goal. 38 minutes in she was enjoying how you slid in and grabbed the ball before Barcelona could have another opportunity to try to get their first goal of the game. Kgatlana went for goal but Paños pushed it over the crossbar for Atlético to take a corner.
Laia cleaned up Barcelona recovering the ball from going out of play from a free kick, sending it back towards you to send flying to the other end of the pitch.
The ball came back to you before the 43rd minute but you got rid of it quickly, spotting a purple Barcelona kit sprinting at you on the ball’s trail. A risky pass back to you again, you sent the ball directly into range of Sandra Paños, grimacing slightly as you realised you’d sent the ball with a bit too much power in it. Barely before the 44th minute, Alexia tried to send the ball into the goal, but you jumped up and caught it, drowning out how the crowd cheered for Alexia as you focussed instead on where to send the ball next.
Half-time hit and the scoreline was still 0-0, even after the one minute of stoppage time that had Laia headbutting a ball back to you. Carmen wrapped her arm around you as you both headed towards the tunnel, spotting Lola and V waiting for you both before all heading into the dressing room together, Lola immediately going into a review on how the first half had gone from her perspective, V and Carmen exchanging looks as you took in everything she said very carefully.
///
Your team immediately made a change for the second half, Barcelona not even on the pitch yet but Kgatlana was being subbed off for Ajibade. Your eyes lingered on Barcelona’s bench for a moment before readjusting your gloves, licking your lips and waiting for the second half to begin.
Forty seven minutes in, and Mapi was taking another corner for Barcelona, which turned into Marta Torrejón doing a throw in. You watched carefully as Laia passed to Merel, the ball trying to make its way up midfield but not getting past Barcelona easily. Merel was playing on a yellow, so had to play more carefully unless the defensive line wanted to be reduced to three defenders.
Rolfö’s shot went straight into your gloves as you threw the ball to your teammate’s feet. Barcelona’s possession heavy style of play kept you on your toes as you watched the ball and your defensive line like a hawk.
You watched as the ball went out of play for Jenni to receive help, having taken a foot, maybe even some studs, to the lower back.
Another one of Rolfö’s shots fell into your range, clamping down over the ball before anyone else could try to get a foot in on it.
Fifty five minutes in, you took a goal kick which annoyingly landed directly into a Barcelona player’s header. Two minutes later, you’re taking another goal kick.
A grumble left your lips as Merel took down Jenni, causing a penalty and Merel’s second yellow card, immediately calling out to Laia, Carmen and Sheila to reshuffle into a three defender line as Alexia was set up to take the penalty, meeting your gaze as you subconsciously licked your lips, focussing on the Barcelona captain. So wrapped up in the penalty, you didn’t see Barcelona preparing to sub in your girlfriend.
Watching Alexia’s run up carefully, you lunged and caught the ball in your arms, Laia and Carmen running over to you, Carmen reaching out to high-five you as you murmured defensive strategies to the two before kicking the ball across into the midfield.
Your team may have been down to ten players, but you were anticipating everything you could, quickly catching another long range shot at goal at the sixtieth minute, before denying Barcelona their first goal again nearly a minute later. Jenni patted your head after she got up,  you had nudged her to make sure she wasn’t going to keep laying in your penalty box, but were gentle since she was one of your girlfriend’s team mums, and Lola’s friend.
The whistle being blown caught your attention as you spotted the subs coming on, Clàudia and Oshoala on the side of the pitch being announced, with Jenni and Mariona being subbed off. It took only a minute after that for your captain to volley the ball into the back of the net, Sampedro taking the score up to 1-0 to Atlético.
Your eyes widened as you hurried over to join your teammates in line to clap for Melanie Serrano’s final game in the Primera Iberdrola, getting to high-five her before you scrambled back to your goal. Melanie being subbed on meant that Rolfö was being subbed off.
Barcelona’s 100% win season was at risk, even with a three defender backline, you were still holding the defence well, a proud Lola watching intently on the bench, as Atlético made some substitutions of their own, with Deyna and Frisbie coming on for Santos and Banini.
Oshoala was struggling to breach your defensive line, but you didn’t smirk or celebrate, keeping your focus on the ball and your team, as they tried to drive it back up the pitch to secure another goal.
Clàudia made the decision to send the ball to Aitana, but the ball went wide, missing the goal at the 70th minute as you went to go retrieve it, feeling Clàudia’s eyes follow you as you prepared for the goal kick, the offside flag also having been raised for the goal attempt. Oshoala’s next attempt went over, the ball being crossed to her by Melanie.
Jumping into the air, you caught the ball heading into the box, almost falling slightly as you pushed yourself off the ground by your elbows, holding the ball tightly as you motioned to your teammates to move.
Nearly at the seventy-fifth minute, you watched as Hansen tried to cross the ball to Aitana, but it went into the outside of the net, Aitana herself landing on the advertising soft boards they had either side of the goal.
Heading into the final fifteen minutes, another water break was called, Clàudia watching as you poured some of the water over your forehead, giggling to herself as Carmen took the bottle away from your head, reminding you to drink some of it as well.
Jogging back over to your goal, you knew Barcelona were going to push for a win, anything other than that would be very unrealistic for the club, and you knew that it would have been 2-1 had you not stopped the two goal attempts in the first half, plus the fact that you had stopped Alexia’s penalty.
Carmen spared a glance at you before she headed off the pitch, Simon coming on in her place at the seventy eighth minute of the match. Barcelona got a corner less than a minute later as they prepared more substitutions, with Lieke Martens and Leila Ouahabi coming onto the pitch soon.
The corner was sent away quickly before the ball arrived back into your arms, quickly sending the ball back into play as a Barcelona player ran at you.
Barcelona made their substitutions as Alexia and Graham Hansen headed off the pitch, while Atlético made a substitution too, with your captain Sampedro going off for Ludmila.
You weren’t entirely sure what the hell happened, even looking back on it, you weren’t entirely sure, but Clàudia took a shot at the goal, trying to nutmeg you. Your legs clamped around the ball instead, making you fall onto your side as you looked at what had happened, feeling your face burn as you removed the ball from between your thighs. Seeing Clàudia’s shocked and flustered expression, it threw you off as you realised how many fans had just seen what had happened, rolling the ball to Laia’s feet as you scrambled to get up. You weren’t quick enough as you saw the ball rebounding back towards goal, your fingertips brushing it but that didn’t stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Barcelona had scored, and from what you could see as Laia helped you up, it had been Clàudia who kicked it in a panic.
Paredes had a yellow card given at the eighty-fifth minute for some reason, your focus shattered by the gay panic running through your system, something that was affecting Clàudia as well as she kept glancing back at you. You both watched as time went on and Aitana Bonmatí went running after Ajibade, who was alone on the attack, taking her down and being sent off the pitch with a red card. Both teams were now down to ten players.
Barcelona had four additional minutes to try to turn the tie into a win, and maintain their winning streak, as Deyna’s free kick went wide.
Martens tried to score on you again, but you were quick to deal with it and so was your teammate, but Lieke wasn’t getting up, her hands over her face as you walked over holding the ball, looking at the ref standing over Martens. The ball had flown up during your challenge, smacking her in the face.
Sending the ball back into play, Oshoala attempted to make it 2-1, but you reached the ball first, almost taking it to the face as you caught it in your arms.
Less than two minutes left and Barcelona were struggling to keep the ball in their possession as they advanced on to try to score again. Clàudia’s attempts falling short as each time she was nearly 1v1-ing with you, you shut her down.
Carmen and V were watching intently between you in goal and Lola’s reactions, your mentor almost dying on the spot when she watched you almost take the ball to the face trying to catch it, and the thigh clamp save from earlier left her with more questions than answers as one of your teammates made a joking comparison to a watermelon, making her and Carmen glare.
Thirty seconds left and your defence clamped down, determined to keep the score at a draw if you could help it, even if it meant taking away Barcelona’s 100% winning streak. The whistle blew and you immediately sat down in your goal, letting out a breath and listening to the music play and the fans cheering, then watching as Barcelone threw Melanie up in the air in celebration of her final match before retirement.
A shadow fell over you as Clàudia stepped into your goal, pointing at your lap for a moment before giving up, nudging your legs apart so she could sit in the gap, her back leaning against your front. Your face buried into her shoulder as you began to laugh, thinking about how Barcelona had gotten their goal. Clàudia giggling too as you whispered what you were laughing about to her.
Lola, Carmen and V all paused their walking over as they spotted you and Clàudia sat spooning in your goal, instead heading over to Alexia and Jenni who were with Melanie, talking to their teammate.
“Those two?” V glanced between Jenni and Alexia, who both avoided looking at Lola for some reason.
“What am I missing?”
“We lost them in Barcelona-”
“They ran off!”
“You lost my child and your child in the streets of Barcelona?!”
///
Every off-season, you took some time to yourself, travelling somewhere you’d never been and exploring a bit. It had turned from road trips to taking planes to other countries, as you’d explored a little bit of Croatia last year before meeting up with your teammates after. This year, you were heading to explore a little bit of France before meeting your teammates in Ibiza. However, there was an added twist to your ‘solo’ travels, since you were not travelling solo to Paris, as you and Clàudia sat on the plane together.
You didn’t post massively on your social media during the trip, saving up a lot of your posts for photo dumps on instagram and smaller, more funny photos and videos on your instagram stories. But your posts from Paris gained fans’ and your teammates’ attention, the photo of you trying and failing to look like you were holding the Eiffel Tower before standing in front of it and grinning gaining comments, people wondering who had taken the photo.
Your excuse was a passerby who you had asked, but you were grinning at whoever was behind the camera like you knew them, and then suddenly Clàudia posting on her stories, revealing herself to also be in Paris threw your excuse down the drain.
It was Lola who texted you first, asking if Clàudia had been the passerby, but you shrugged it off, saying that it was coincidental and just happened. Jenni didn’t have the same idea, as she messaged Clàudia asking if you were sharing a hotel room, then sending another message about whether you two were sharing a bed, with a smirking emoji. Jenni was left on read, and you were being short and blunt with your answers to Lola, Carmen and V, although V got a photo that clearly Clàudia had taken, which then ended up on Clàudia’s social media and in turn, yours too.
The photo being a close up of you grinning at the camera, biting your lip at whoever was behind it, and in turn, driving everyone crazy as they realised you and Clàudia were in Paris, the city of love together.
Your team mums and V, (who was essentially your team auntie if you were honest) had all tried calling and video calling you, but you sat at the cafe table with Clàudia, watching it ring off as you enjoyed your lunch together.
//
Texting Lola as soon as you and Clàudia had retrieved the luggage from the conveyor belt at the airport, you both headed out to try to find a taxi that would take you both to where you were staying.
It didn’t take long for the questions to land, you brushing them off with a deadpan that you’d told them all before you were going to Paris for alone time before meeting up with everyone in Ibiza, Clàudia dealing with Alexia and Jenni and their questions, Alexia more concerned than Jenni, who just wanted to know any details she could get about the two of you.
The alone time between you and Clàudia was decreased dramatically as you were both kept with the groups of Spanish players, Lola not really taking her eyes off of you unless you were with V. You were pretty sure that this was entertainment for everyone else, as Alexia and Jenni kept Clàudia with them or with another one of their teammates, neither of you really alone.
It took reaching the final morning in Ibiza for you to sneak out of the villa, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge and stuffing a piece of leftover food into your mouth as you shut the door, hurrying out the front door to eventually meet Clàudia and try find the place you wanted to go with her. You’d had to plan it carefully due to all the swimming and sunbathing everyone wanted to do, but you were determined to sneak out and get a tattoo to commemorate the trip, ending up with a small Eiffel Tower tattoo hidden by your clothes.
You probably should have realised that your teammates would realise you were gone when they emerged from their rooms, texting the others on the trip to see if Clàudia was missing too. Indeed she was.
Lola watched her phone, her arms folded, everyone having gathered to hang out, some in the pool, some waiting for you and Clàudia to turn up. Hearing the front door open, Lola got up first, waiting as Carmen, Alexia and Jenni all watched, Jenni and Carmen softening as the four realised how happy you and Clàudia looked as you both walked into the villa.
“¿Dónde has estado?”
“Around.” You headed towards the kitchen to rummage for a snack or something, whilst Alexia and Jenni talked to Clàudia.
“Your child is a bad influence.”
“My child? Your child followed mine to Paris!”
You met Clàudia’s gaze as you brought the snack to your lips, wiggling your eyebrows as Clàudia smiled, gaining Jenni’s attention as she tried to get the more interesting details out of the young player.
///
“Stop following me, I don’t need you to follow me to the bathroom, I’m not five, bathroom buddies are for crowded public places!” You exclaimed as you realised Lola was about to follow you into the bathroom, “I’m not going to climb out the bathroom window! I need to pee!”
Lola backed off, allowing you to do your business in the bathroom, pulling up your clothes to look at your new tattoo in the mirror with a soft smile.
“Is that a tattoo?!” Jenni shouted as she walked in on you standing in front of the bathroom mirror, her shout getting everyone’s attention, even the players outside enjoying the pool.
“Who books a villa that doesn’t have locks in the bathrooms!” You exclaimed, hurriedly tugging your clothes back over the tattoo as you heard Lola yell from the living room.
“You snuck out to get a damn tattoo?”
Alexia immediately looked at Clàudia, but she shook her head, almost smiling in amusement at Alexia’s assumption but Lola was making her way to you with Carmen and V in tow.
///
The 2022 Women’s Euros were being held in England, but you were there to watch Spain, or more specifically Clàudia and Lola, who had both been called up. Jenni was injured before, so you wouldn’t see her, and then Alexia had torn her ACL a day before the competition began, leaving you on edge for the health of the rest of the Spanish players.
You watched the Spain game against Finland intently from the stands, not realising you’d been spotted by Alexia during half-time, or that you’d been a great source of entertainment for the injured player when Clàudia was subbed on at the 86th minute. Spain won the game 4-1 after a full ninety minutes and five minutes of stoppage time.
Alexia approached by an influx of her teammates, giving Clàudia time to approach you with a soft smile, quietly conversing as Lola watched from the corner of her eye, meeting Alexia’s gaze as Clàudia ended up removing her jersey and giving it to you.
Clàudia hurried away as the Spanish players were recalled to the dressing room post-game, meaning Lola did not get the chance to raise an eyebrow at you, or question Clàudia about her intentions, whilst you were glancing at the exits, ready to run from Alexia, even though she would not be able to follow you. Meeting Alexia’s raised eyebrow, you held the jersey close to you with a soft smile, heading away before the Barcelona captain could question you about your intentions with Clàudia.
Later that night, you shook social media up by posting two photos, one of you wearing a Spanish jersey, before a mirror shot was taken, revealing Clàudia’s name and number on the back of it. Your caption was a generic smiley face, stoking the flames of confusion and excitement as Clàudia liked the post, commenting a flame emoji as your teammates flooded your comments wondering what it all meant, but they gained no response from you, or your girlfriend, whose jersey you were wearing in the photos.

On Bachira’s Rankings
Tumblr media
Warning: This post will contain a lot of manga spoilers!
Season 1 of the anime just finished. I reread a few chapters of the manga starting from where it ended, and I noticed something strange…
How on earth did Bachira rank #7 after the Third Selection?
Like, I know he’s amazing, but considering how the ranking was determined…
Tumblr media
... Bachira's rank may be less of an indication of how amazing he is and more of a deliberate narrative choice by the author.
The panel above is of Ego answering Yukki’s question about the difference between him and #1. Essentially, the standard used to determine the Top 6. Let’s extend that standard to the lower ranks.
The ranks are determined by:
Goals scored since First Selection
World Five's personal judgment
Ego's judgment
Just on that first factor, you really have to wonder how Bachira ranks higher than Barou, one of the top scorers in their First Selection wing. Throughout the entire First Selection, Bachira scored only one goal, and that was in the match against Team V.
In the Second Selection, Bachira only participated in two matches: the 3v3 with Isagi and Nagi against the Top 3, and the 4v4 when Isagi came to steal him back.
In the Second Selection, Bachira also only scored one goal, and that was even with Rin manipulating him:
Tumblr media
Bachira had an awesome awakening arc, but he didn't score a goal then because of Isagi blocking it, so it doesn't count.
In the Third Selection, only Rin scored in their team
So, the First, Second, and Third Selections combined, Bachira only scored two goals.
Not really indicative of a striker, don't you think?
Bachira’s #7 rank could only be largely because of those second and third factors. Considering the importance Ego places on scoring your own goals, I’m inclined to think that it’s more of the former: the World Five’s assessment of him.
Specifically, Pablo Cavasoz’s assessment of Bachira.
Pablo’s first words to Bachira were of praise:
Tumblr media
Bachira even got past him on his first try. Granted, Pablo was still underestimating them here; he just got caught off guard.
Then, his second words were of criticism:
Tumblr media
The scene above was not included in the anime, by the way.
This seems to be the only time in the match where a World Five player criticizes a bluelocker without being condescending about it.
It may be that Pablo is just nice, but compare it to the criticism that Isagi and Rin received:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not so obvious with Loki, but I personally find being asked if my move is okay to be mildly insulting.
And unlike Loki’s criticism of Isagi and Luna’s criticism of Rin, Pablo’s criticism of Bachira is actually constructive. He first points out what Bachira is doing right (“Your rhythm is dynamic”) before pointing out what he’s doing wrong (“but you don’t have enough patterns”).
Overall, Pablo seems to have a good impression of Bachira, and he must’ve said a lot of good things about him to Ego.
As for Ego’s judgment of Bachira… I’m not really sure what he thinks. As I said, Bachira had scored only two goals. Most of the time, he played more like a midfielder than a striker. If there’s one thing that could make Ego think highly of Bachira, then it’s probably Bachira’s ability to go through the enemy’s entire defense all by himself. He exhibited this in the Team V match as well as in the 4v4 match.
Now, with the post-Third-Selection ranking out of the way, let’s talk about how Bachira is ranked in other times…
Bachira’s rank has always been “high, but not too high”
Tumblr media
At the beginning, Bachira is ranked #290, the highest in Team Z, second only to Kira, who was then eliminated.
At chapter 24 of the manga, Bachira’s rank was #270.
Tumblr media
This was before the match against Team V, and Bachira hasn’t scored a goal yet, so of course he is ranked lower than those who have scored more goals. Rankings then were determined solely on number of goals. At this point in the story, Bachira was also still just playing with the monster and hasn’t awakened his own ego yet.
After the Second Selection’s First Stage, Bachira was ranked #16, placed right after Isagi.
Tumblr media
Now, this is sus. How could Bachira finish faster than Chigiri?
If you remember, after Isagi entered the First Stage, the rest of Team Z decided the order through rock, paper, scissors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chigiri went in first, followed by Bachira. And you’re telling me that Chigiri, known for his speed and who was definitely more egoistic than Bachira at this time, actually finished later than Bachira despite having the early-start advantage?
It could only be because the author is deliberately choosing their ranks for the narrative and not basing it on their actual skills.
I mean, at chapter 58, Chigiri is shown to be ranked #44.
Tumblr media
And in the Neo Egoist League arc, we are shown the significance of this number 44 to Chigiri.
Now, in the NEL arc, we have two ranks for Bachira so far. In chapter 170, he was ranked second, placed right after Rin. Not everyone has played in a match yet, but I still think this rank is quite impressive. He ranked higher than Shidou, the former #2.
Tumblr media
Then in Chapter 204, he was ranked #3. If I remember correctly, Rin’s team hadn’t played a second match yet, so the rankings aren’t that accurate, but I still think it’s impressive. Bachira scored a goal in Ubers, a team known for their defense. If it weren’t for Nagi’s “miracle” goal, he could’ve maintained second place.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Apart from the rank #270 in the First Selection and the #16 in the Second Selection, Bachira has always ranked higher than Isagi. In both aforementioned cases, Bachira’s state was still that of being satisfied in just getting to play with Isagi. His ego hadn’t awakened yet, so it’s only natural that his performance suffers.
However, after his awakening, he has consistently ranked higher than Isagi. Somehow, I don’t see anyone talking about this. Bachira is often overlooked by the readers and also by the characters in-universe.
Even Isagi, the person who believes in Bachira the most, doesn’t really think of him as a threat:
Tumblr media
He honestly thought that he and Bachira were about the same level.
And he was so surprised of Bachira’s level-up in Chapter 160:
Tumblr media
“You just keep going past my expectations.” So to say, Isagi’s expectations of Bachira were actually lower. (I know Isagi doesn’t actually look down on Bachira, but just looking at it objectively, he really does not think of Bachira as a threat.)
And it’s not just Isagi who’s like this, but other characters as well.
Raichi couldn’t believe it:
Tumblr media
And so did Igaguri:
Tumblr media
Both Raichi and Igaguri are a terrible judge of skill, though. Raichi thinks Kaiser’s success was just because of Bastard Munchen’s system. And Igaguri didn’t even know Shidou was so amazing despite being on the same team with him during the Second Selection. So, whether their opinions count or not is up to you.
There’s also this line by Chigiri in the 4v4 match:
Tumblr media
Chigiri thinks everyone else is slow, though, so again, not much weight in those words.
But it’s interesting to note that Isagi, Chigiri, Raichi, and Igaguri were in the same team as Bachira during the First Selection, yet they all don’t take Bachira that seriously.
It probably won’t be that long before they, especially Isagi, actually start seeing him as a threat.
Tumblr media
Above is a panel of Isagi’s reaction to Bachira’s offer in the NEL arc in c204.
And remember what I said about their rankings being a deliberate narrative choice instead of an actual indication of their skill? What do you think the author is trying to say with Bachira’s rankings?
Before, I thought it was to set up Bachira as Isagi’s final boss, the last player Isagi has to devour before he can truly be the #1 striker. But now I think it could also be to set up Bachira as Isagi’s right-hand man. Not as a servant like how Ness is to Kaiser and how Reo is to Nagi, but as a partner who can fight side-by-side with Isagi.
Thoughts?

kind of want to talk about absences a bit. in blue lock the absence of a chara matters just as much as their presence and currently (ch.241) the manga is dominated by absences not just noa and egojin but kunigami-kiyora (who don’t participate in isagi’s practice) while from team france so far we haven’t seen karasu or loki or the guy who impregnated a net
—karasu is sus especially because we see in ch.240 that players can recognize each other from across fields. chigiri and kunigami can react to each other, so why can’t hiori react to karasu’s bid? even if he doesn’t appear in person, having hiori acknowledge his existence wouldn’t have been strange; as it stands, the hiori—>karasu non-reaction is what cements karasu’s absence. imo this is blue lock trying to erase karasu from the reader’s view and thus from their mind which is terrifying if you think about it
—loki is fucking scary. in the visuals of the five masters grouped together only loki faces away; he’s thematically a godling too which makes him very, very relevant to blue lock as a work. i feel like blue lock is Planning Something Big with loki like he’s going to be really, really important somehow but since the opposing master strikers are what give each game their distinct identity anyway loki should appear when pxg becomes pxg
—apparently the guy who impregnated a set is important to kunigami so it makes sense for him not to appear. he’ll probably come out when kunigami becomes a major player in the story
—kiyora’s absence from isagi’s practice casts further doubt on isagi’s assumption that kiyora is a kurona replacement; i also think kiyora is narratively incompatible with an isagi-hiori system— remember how isagi-hiori was only made possible through denying kiyora. since i think kiyora is meant for kunigami this makes sense to me. it also explains kunigami’s absence from isagi’s friend group and in my mind strengthens the impression that kunigami can’t win within an isagi-centric system
these absences all Matter because they create dread they funnel the set-up for pxg conflict into rin v. isagi-hiori. ubers set a precedent where the initial conflict (isagi’s left foot theory killing kaiser) is resolved within the first few chapters and with pxg too the starting point is clear, but the absences suggest there’s a whole dimension to the game outside of isagi’s immediate perspective. this match is going to spiral out of control sooner or later
the other thing is i’m still on fukakuwatch. mark my words he will come back (actually one very good explanation for why fukaku's identity was straight-up Erased that is thematically consistent and brings isagi into a broader thematic conversation he was mostly uninvolved with but it’s so, so mean-spirited i’d feel unclean if i said it)

Ok so at first I wasn't gonna put this on tumblr and just twitter but since an interaction with an old post of @charkyzombicorn I decided to put it here to.
Explanation, I'm doing a challenge were I redraw most of the One Piece ships has humans and the first that I got was Merry.
So here she is with some headcanons:
Tumblr media
- Her full name is Going Merry (duh) but almost everyone just call her Merry
- She is at least 20 years old and was born in Syrup Village.
- She has 6 little siblings and they are Sunny, Shiro (Shiro Mokuba I), Mary (Mini Merry II), Sharky (Shark Submerge III), Kurosai (Kurosai FR-U IV) and Brachio (Brachio Tank V). All adopted.
- She loves adventures, she can chicken out a bit at the start but she can fight and/or lie her way out if shit it the fan.
- Don't be fooled she can and will bench press you, she quite grood at hand in hand combat, using sword and staff to fight but she will demolish you in a gun fight.
- She carry a bag full of very different, like a healing kit, books, maps, snacks, dials, money and many more. She also carry her gun and a bag of mikans.
- She has a giant garden full of mikans tree at home. If you take one without asking or destroy one of the tree you're dead, you can't run, she is already pointing her gun at your head.
- Dress has a chicken ones for Halloween for her siblings, she is not embarrassed at all.
- She is friends with Red (Red Force), Baratie, Striker and Swanda (Swanda Express). Her and Foxy (Sexy Foxy) have a bit of a frenemie relationship (she humiliate him in a boxing match and let Sunny draw Foxy new blackjack). She absolutely hate Miss Love Duck, Bezan Black and Shark Superb.
- She can scream like a baby goat (one of the cutest things ever to Red).
And here is her post Enies Lobby:
Tumblr media
- Sadly during her adventures she accumulated quite the injuries and it end when she got into an accident with some Marine ships at Enies Lobby, forcing her into an hospital bed for two month and after she need to use a wheelchair.
- Even she is stuck in a wheelchair she still like to go on adventurous or to just visit so when she go out she is usually accompanied by someone to wheel her around mostly Sunny.
- In the hospital she was mostly visit by Sunny, she give the blackjack and the strawhat to him so he can continue for her.
- Now she spend more time with her younger siblings (except Sunny) and taking care of her garden.
- She can be a bit nostalgic when she sees a old photo of her and her siblings when Sunny was shorter then her (his growth spurt was has much of a surprise to him then to her).
- She snicker everytime Sunny hit his head on the doorframes, or when he still try to hide behind her like he used to do when he was younger.
- She is undergoing walking therapy to be able to walk again, it's hard sometimes and She takes breaks but she will not give up.
- She also meet with the other "retired" ships like Oro, Moby and Rocket Man.
- She meet Polar, one of Sunny's (reluctant) friends, there and they get together sometime to gossip (they will talk shit about anyone especially Sunny).
- Even in a wheelchair she is still a goddess at using her gun.
---
Done, it was a bit long but i'm quite happy on how it turn out. I still have some work to do in wolrd and story building for this.
But that all, if you have more headcanons for her feel free to tell me, I will be happy to had them :).

After watching a playthrough of p5r and finally playing through the game myself a year later (I've reached the last palace in royal ;-;) I think I have my final thoughts about each of the characters established at this point and I thought I'd share them here instead of twitter because of the character limit. Obvious spoilers for royal and I also mention a p3 and p4 character personality trait but that's about it! TLDR at the bottom
Morgana: akira loves him so I love him :)
Ann: ann is my favorite female pt member and I've only grown to love her more after playing the game myself and seeing how powerful she is, allowing me to keep her in my party the whole game. The writing does her so dirty as a character and her confidant isn't my favorite. Although I did like her rank 9 with shiho, I thought that was v cute (if we skip the fact that you can say you like her while she's emotionally vulnerable). But yeah ann is so great and she really feels like the glue of the group to me!
Ryuji: best boy. Heart of gold, dumb of ass. I really don't mind the whole liking girls thing because he's a teenager, but the writing takes it too far sometimes which I don't contribute to his character at all. But I think I realized how much I loved him as a character when all the pt members are stuck in the velvet room jails and he starts his monologue by talking about his memories of the first palace, and I started tearing up? His was the only one to make me do that because that's when I realized he's been with me since the beginning 🥺
Yusuke: due to atlus' writing once again, I didn't really like yusuke at all in the beginning. I grew to like him more after the palace was over because I really did like his whole story arc. However, the incident that made me really love him though was when I was watching a playthrough and the streamer hadn't romanced anyone yet so they automatically got the beach trip with the bros. This scene is of course a slog to go through because I guess we're supposed to think harassing women is funny idk??? But then fucking yusuke shows up with his stupid lobsters and made me laugh SO hard during a scene where I wasn't having fun. And that's when I was like, okay I love him and his weirdness. His confidant was also excellent and I love him and akira together platonically/romantically.
Makoto: this is where my opinion on a character seems to be... unpopular. When I first got to know makoto I wasn't really feeling her as a character and hoped she would grab me after she awakened. And when she did I was SO excited because her outfit and her persona (johanna my beloved) were so cool and badass. But then after her palace finished I just. Never thought about her again. And I think most of this does attribute to the writing, because her palace and confidant are so Bad, I just couldn't connect with her at all through them. Also her becoming a cop was also one of the worst decisions I've ever seen and makes absolutely no sense. So she's definitely my least favorite member sadly.
Futaba: SHE!!! Oh my god I love her to bits, her palace and confidant are some of the best ones in the game. I'm also such a sucker for found family tropes and so of course I immediately adopted her as ren's sister (shipping her with the protag makes me very uncomfortable fyi). There's not much to say other than she's the best gremlin and I relate to her a lot with her nerd energy. Her palace is up there as the more interesting one in the game.
Haru: I know haru's character can be pretty hit or miss because of how late she comes into the game. I will say that I was pretty neutral on haru's character because of this, until I experienced strikers and went back to royal. I loved her a lot more a second time around, her sweet personality contrasted with her heavy weapon and twisted thoughts when talking about killing shadows makes her such an interesting character for me. I think her weakest point would be the writing surrounding her father's death, I really wished we had seen more of her emotions surrounding it (I also wanted there to be more conflict between her and akechi because that would have made some great group conflict, definitely better than when morgana leaves). But other than that, I think she's excellent and wonderful.
Sumire: My first experience with the game, I felt neutral with her in vanilla because she was just There. Then royal came along and seeing her arc mixed with maruki's really made me love her character a lot more. And while I really loved how she went from depending on akira's opinion for her own self-worth to trying to grow on her own, I don't think it's executed well in the game. I see her saying she wants to be more independent, but then you can also romance her which actually makes it worse for her imo (her constantly looking for the protag's approval after having us learn about her extreme self hatred is not cute to me). I do think her issues make her a more compelling character, the romance thing just bugs me personally (I could have written a much better romance for them tbh but anyways). Her persona is *chefs kiss* and her outfit is one of my favorites. She's also very fun to play as.
Akechi: saved this one for last because I could write a whole essay on this character, but I will try to refrain lmao. I immediately liked his character because you can just Tell he's being two-faced. And you start to see a glimpse of that when he tells akira that he hates him. I knew he was the traitor of the group obviously, but the game surprised me by having him go as far as to shoot the protagonist. I will never forget experiencing that moment for the first time, because that's when I was like oh he's really fucked up. Which of course made me much more interested in his character. I was devastated after the engine room and then elated at the start of royal when I thought he was "alive." Speaking of, akechi's character was already my favorite in vanilla but royal pushed his character to be one of my favorites ever in fiction. 2/2 was one of the most emotionally devastating things I've ever experienced, and it just made his character even more interesting which I thought wasn't possible. I can never stop thinking about how he tells akira to go back to their own reality and how much of an affect akechi's life has on akira's decision. He has so much conviction in his beliefs that he would rather choose to go back to a reality where he is dead than live in a false reality where he is being controlled by someone again. I just want to study him in a lab. I do have a hang-up on his character though. I really dislike that atlus doesn't give him a proper ending to his arc and toys the audience on whether or not he's alive because something something fanservice. The writer in me really wishes they would have left him off as being dead because it would have made his story hit a lot more. Finally, I personally feel like shuake are soulmates on both a platonic and romantic sense, but I think my unpopular opinion is that I don't wish they had a romance route in the game. Tbh I'd rather they confirm he was gay rather than have a romance arc because I'm afraid atlus would obliterate his character knowing their track record on romances and lgbt topic in general. But that'll never happen so!
TLDR tier list:
Akechi
Akira (yes he's his own character)
Yusuke
Ann
Futaba
Ryuji
Haru
Sumire
Morgana
Makoto

Name: Ferdiad mac Daman Age range: 21 - early 30s Occupation: Professional football player Family: Cú Chulainn (partner), Connla (son), Finnscoth (daughter)
Ferdiad had a natural talent for sports since a very young age, but rarely got invested in any of them despite how many times his younger twin (Ferdet) tried to make join a team. That changed once he was invited to play football with his classmates and met a cheeky and spirited striker that was over a head shorter than him. That afternoon was the first time Ferdiad ever lost to anyone and it also was the afternoon that marked the beginning of his long-lasting relationship with football.
He’s no good in front of the camera and talks little so he has never shared the full story of that afternoon with the press, but that day also was the day in which he fell in love for the first time. It took him a while to confess and, afterwards, everything just passed fast. By the time Ferdiad made a name for himself on the field, he and his partner already had two kids of their own, but has never given any information about them. Still, Connla seems to be as passionate about football as his parents.
As a professional football player, Ferdiad has signed contracts with different teams over the years. His position was that of the attacking midfielder until his late 20s, and then changed to be the central midfielder of the team he signed with. And, even to this day and much to the media’s dismay, the player doesn’t have any official social media.

V. YOU AGAIN?
𝐒𝐀𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐘/𝐍, two young boys, were spending their evening at some random park they had stumbled into on their walk. y/n was still complaining about his tea, even though he got over it a while ago, his voice echoing throughout the park. sae, on the other hand, was half-heartedly listening to the boy. well, I mean, could you blame him for not listening? he just met the guy!
"you know, it would be a lot easier if you would speak up!" his tone was leaking with fake irritation
"I don't need to talk with someone like you"
the latter huffed and bickered with the other. they kept fighting for a few minutes until they realized it was getting quite dark, but..whatever. the h/c male couldn't care else, however, the teal-eyed striker thought the opposite. (he had to go home to rin)
*• ᖭི༏ᖫྀ•*.~
when the boy woke, it was slightly raining. he felt a little discouraged since he had planned to play soccer right, and now he had to deal with the mud and rain between his shoes. he didn't want to clean his shoes.
it was a weekend so he didn't have school, which he was glad for. he wanted to see if he could catch the maroon-haired boy once more in his given time. but first, maybe a walk through the park would be a refresher.
he obviously brought his ball with him. who do you take him for if he didn't?
y/n trotted up to the park, surrounding the parents who came along with their children. it wasn't that he didn't like them but.. they annoy him. not all that much though.
he tried to stay away from them as much as possible. with going as far as to hide in the thorny bush when one of them was coming his way. the curiousity evident in the young one's soft mumbles; he instantly knew what'd happen if it took interest in the ball he was holding and reacted on impulse.
y/n held his breath when he bored his eyes into the other's side. internally begging them to leave.
when their mom pulled them by the side, he let go of the breath he didn't even know he was holding.
y/n jumped out of his hiding place. stared at the wall and deemed it worthy enough to practice whatever tricks with it.
the sky was dropping from the bright blue to the orange sunset he was more familiar with. the serenity that came along with it always put him in the right state of mind for some reason.
*• ᖭི༏ᖫྀ•*.~
he was trying out some new tricks with his ball somewhere near the grocery store he and sae met the day before.
he was trying his dribbling. he always liked the feel of the ball in-between his feet while playing. his movements were skillfully played out while performing with the ball.
"wow." a monotone voice could be heard around the corner. he snapped his head towards the sound.
"sae?" y/n was a bit surprised. he didn't ACTUALLY believe he would get to meet sae for the third time but anyways.
he blinked twice just incase he wasn't hallucinating.
"..you again?"
EXTRA / ADDITIONAL TIME:
when the h/c male was still walking around a certain blue-haired kid stared into the back of his head while he carried the soccer ball around. he wanted to play too.. sadly he was a bit too shy to say anything.
masterlist.

He is the himbo oni I was talking about. And yeah, he’s the leader of a local gang in his village, but is actually a himbo and a really nice guy.
These are his voice lines in the game if you want to listen to them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rkx_KJj4wg
Also, I feel like gushing over my less talked about f/o’s. Wolfgang Akire, Tamaki Amajiki, Keigo Takami (aka Hawks), The Narrator (Stanley Parable), Levi from Obey Me, and Striker. (And kinda Taka too since I don’t really talk about him as much, but he still holds a special place in my heart as my first f/o).
I see I see!
And yeah, I get it. I don't gush much, but It's always fun to do. I'll be here to listen, don't worry.

Hunger Strikes Grow More Dire at Red Onion Prison
Several Virginia prisoners began a hunger strike on Tuesday, December 26 at Red Onion State Prison, protesting the continued use of long-term solitary confinement at the institution.
Despite critical concern, outcry from the public and prisoner populations in the state, incarcerated people are still subjected to this brutal practice which has been renamed “restorative housing” since July 1, 2023 when measures were passed to limit its use in the state.
Leading these prisoners in this effort is longtime prison activist, revolutionary writer and artist, Kevin “Rashid” Johnson. Rashid has stated that no one will take any food at all until demands are met. Some of the strike participants have underlying health concerns that make the undertaking of such a demonstration particularly risky.
Rashid, himself, is recovering from multiple rounds of radiation to treat prostate cancer as well as suffering from untreated heart disease/congestive heart failure. This is why the public’s support is especially needed.
We are asking that calls, emails, and letters be sent to the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) officials as well as Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin’s office voicing support for the strikers and condemnation for the inhumane use of long-term solitary confinement/restorative housing.
PLEASE EVERY DAY THIS WEEK: call and email the following people demanding that the hunger strikers demands be met (end long term solitary confinement) and Rashid receive the medical care he has been denied for months, and that he be transferred immediately. If the latter is not an option, then demand an interstate compact transfer take place immediately.
804-674-3081
804-786-2211
** Demand that the Governor intervene on Rashid’s behalf and that an internal investigation be conducted immediately that would reveal why there were documents removed from his medical jacket and why his referrals to outside medical care were canceled.
Joka Jeupe Mkali, AKA Komrade Shine White, who put out this call to action, said "Death is inevitable, but it mustn't be at the hands of some racist dogs. Rashid walks in shoes that cannot be filled, thus we must keep him walking in them as long as possible."
Thank you for all you do to help prison rebels keep walking!

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Labyrinth Dungeons Clears Part 3
In the Final Fantasy Record Keeper (FFRK) mobile game, there are still a lot of fights in the Labyrinth Dungeons that I have yet to clear.
Tumblr media
After hearing the news that Final Fantasy Record Keeper was gonna end its service on September 29, 2022 (I talk more about that in another post), I wanted to finish as much of FFRK’s content as I can.
Tumblr media
I know it doesn’t really matter, but still. For now, I don’t want to say goodbye to Final Fantasy Record Keeper yet. Heck, I wish this game didn’t have to end, at least not anytime soon.
Anyway, so I started going through the Labyrinth Dungeons, checking each quest and looking to see which ones I’ve already cleared. Will try to do the ones that I haven’t cleared yet. Also trying to see if I can sub-30 these fights.
Labyrinth Dungeons Info
The Labyrinth Nexus fights in the Labyrinth Dungeons come in 2 quest levels - 580 and 650.
Tumblr media
There are fights that require you to bring a Final Fantasy realm team and fights that require either physical or magical elemental teams.
Labyrinth Nexus S1, Part 1 Info
The boss of this fight is called Kalavinka Striker (Labyrinth). He is weak to the earth element.
Tumblr media
There are 2 versions of him, one that’s weak to physical earth and another that’s weak to magical earth. Well, there are 4 versions of him if you’re also counting the 2 quest levels.
Physical-Weak Quest Level 580 Kalavinka Striker Fight
Decided to take on the physical-weak, quest level 580 version of Kalavinka Striker (Labyrinth) with the following team:
Galuf Halm Baldesion from Final Fantasy V
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII (#ad)
Gladiolus Amicitia from Final Fantasy XV
Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII
Tumblr media
Tifa and Gladio served as my main DPS since I have multiple BDL relics for them. They did really well on this fight.
Have the following relics for Tifa Lockhart:
Dual Awakening Soul Break (DASB), Awoken Meteor Arts
Synchro Arcane Soul Break 1 (SASB1), Zangan’s Infinitude
SASB2, Limit Combo
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 1 (AASB1), Meteor Arts
AASB2, Chain Somersault
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break (AOSB), Platinum Strike
Ultra Soul Break 1 (USB1), Meteodrive
Overstrike Soul Break (OSB), Meteor Strike
Glint+ Soul Break 2 (G+2), Rockcrusher Grasp
Burst Soul Break 1 (BSB1), Meteor Crusher
Default Soul Break, Beat Rush
Legend Materia 1, Heroic Devotion
Legend Materia 2, Fighter’s Instinct
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Brawling Barkeep
LMR3, First-Class Fighter
Tumblr media
And I might or might not have Tifa’s LMR2, Friendly Fighter, but can’t remember for sure anymore. I talk more about this in another post.
Anyway, although I have both of Tifa’s Syncs, I could only bring 1 to this fight since each char can only equip 1 SASB at a time. Tifa’s Sync 2 is way better than her Sync 1 so the former was what I brought to this quest.
For Gladiolus, I have his Dual, Awakening, Sync and a few of his other relics. I also have his physical earth Chain Soul Break althought IIRC, didn’t have him use this since Galuf served as my Chain holder for this fight.
I have Galuf’s Chain, 2 of his Awakenings, and his Sync. As aforementioned, he served as my Chain holder. Galuf deals decent enough damage but he doesn’t hit as hard as Gladio or Tifa. Still, he did very well as my secondary DPS and Chain holder.
Aerith and Tyro served as my buffers and supports. Aerith was also my healer.
Have the following relics for Aerith Gainsborough:
Dual Awakening Soul Break (DASB), Awoken White Materia
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 1 (AASB1), Star Pulse
AASB2, Planetary Pulse
Ultra Soul Break 1 (USB1), Hidden Bloom
USB2, Innocent Cure
Glint+ Soul Break 1 (G+1), Refreshing Breeze
G+2, Star Whisper
Burst Soul Break 1 (BSB1), White Materia
BSB2, Prayer of Salvation
Super Soul Break (SSB), Pulse of Life
Unique Soul Break, Planet Protector
Unique Soul Break, Fury Brand
Unique Soul Break, Dragon Force
Unique Soul Break, Healing Wind (VII)
Default Soul Break, Seal Evil
Legend Materia Relic (LMR), Flower of the Slums
Legend Materia 1, Daughter of the Ancients
Legend Materia 2, Motherly Protector
Tumblr media
I’ve even max honed one of Aerith’s Awakenings so it can be used twice per fight instead of just once. I talk more about that in this post.
Tumblr media
Aside from keeping everyone alive and providing Last Stand, Aerith can also speed up the physical attacks of her allies.
Tyro can increase the party’s critical hit chance. He can also Entrust his gauges to his allies.
Have a few of Tyro’s Soul Breaks, including his Awakening and Ultra Soul Breaks.
I have 1 copy of a Level 99 Neo Bahamut (Ultra Attack) Magicite and 1 copy of a Level 99 Neo Bahamut (Ultra Magic) Magicite thanks to being able to clear the Neo Bahamut quest level 600 fight. I talk more about this in another post.
Tumblr media
So for this Labyrinth quest, I brought Neo Bahamut (Ultra Attack) as my main Magicite. Having him really helped to increase the damage output of my chars.
This fight was only quest level 580 so it really wasn’t that hard, especially since my physical earth elemental team was pretty stacked and I even have a Neo Bahamut Magicite already.
So I was able to get the win in 25.45 seconds. Yay for being able to sub-30 this fight.

Labyrinth Nexus S3, Part 1 Info
The boss of this fight is called Alexander (Labyrinth). He is weak to the dark element.
Tumblr media
There are 2 versions of him, one that’s weak to physical dark and another that’s weak to magical dark. Well, there are 4 versions of him if you’re also counting the 2 quest levels.
Physical-Weak Quest Level 580 Alexander Fight
Decided to take on the physical-weak, quest level 580 version of Alexander with the following team:
Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII
Shadow from Final Fantasy VI
Ravus Nox Fleuret from Final Fantasy XV
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII
Have the following relics for Sephiroth:
Tumblr media
Limit Break Chain (LBC), Woven Bond: Sephiroth - Dark
Limit Break Overstrike (LBO) or Limit Break Over Flow (LBOF), Dark Illumination
True Arcane Soul Break 1 (TASB1) or Arcane Dyad Soul Break 1 (ADSB1), Super Nova or Sunburst
TASB2, Jenova
Synchro Arcane Soul Break 1 (SASB1), Demonic Lord
SASB2, Crimson Octaslash
SASB3, Dark Carmine Blade
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 1 (AASB1), Stigma
AASB2, Underworld Guardian
AASB3, Flames of Nibelheim
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 1 (AOSB1), Setting Sun

USB2, Zanshin
USB3, Crimson Lotus
Overstrike Soul Break (OSB), Heaven’s Light
Glint+ Soul Break 1 (G+1), Shimmer Flash
G+2, Fervent Shadow
Glint Soul Break (G), Jenova’s Might
Burst Soul Break 1 (BSB1), Reunion
BSB2, Octaslash
Super Soul Break 1 (SSB1), Black Materia
SSB2, Transience
Unique Soul Break, Nibelheim Nightmare
Unique Soul Break, Hell’s Gate
Unique Soul Break, Shadow Flare
Default Soul Break, Oblivion
Legend Materia 1, Fallen Hero
Legend Materia 2, Jenova’s Echo
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Fateful Secret
LMR2, Apocalyptic Hero
LMR3, Cruelest Cut
LMR+, Refinement (Sephiroth)
Yeah, I have basically all of Sephi’s relics. The only one I’m missing for him is his Dual Awakening Soul Break 1 (DASB1), Awoken Octaslash. I really hate that I wasn’t able to get this.
Tumblr media
And it’s definitely not for lack of trying. When Sephiroth’s Dual first showed up in Final Fantasy Record Keeper, I tried pulling for it.
I talk more about that in this post, but the main point is that, sadly, no matter how many times I pulled on the banner said Dual was featured in, was never able to get it.
Went 10 pulls deep on that banner, spending hundreds of mythril, until I was all out, and yet I couldn’t even manage to get all the relics featured there.
Was really frustrated and annoyed about that. Still am, really. Eff the crappy, trashy rates on this game. And now that FFRK is ending, I’ll never be able to get Sephiroth’s Dual. Sigh.
Anyway, Sephiroth served as one of my DPS for this fight. He’s a really good physical dark elemental attacker although he also dabbles in the fire element.
Shadow served as my physical dark Chain holder. IIRC, also have his Awakening and Sync plus a few of his other relics.
Can’t remember for sure anymore and unfortunately, the game is over by now, so can’t check the relics list of my chars anymore.
Tyro and Aerith served as my supports again. And, as usual, they both did very well in buffing and supporting the party.
Ravus served as my main DPS since I have most of his relics, including his Dual, Awakening, Sync, and TASB.
Tumblr media
My physical dark elemental team is pretty stacked and this was only quest level 580 so found this fight pretty easy.
Was able to get the win but was really, really annoyed that my clear time was 30.30 seconds. Argh! Was so close to being able to sub-30 this quest. It really sucks that I wasn’t able to.
Tumblr media
I know I can just try again and see if I can lower my clear time somehow but decided to just move on to a different quest for now. FFRK is ending really soon, so I’m running out of time.
Would like to clear as many Labyrinth Dungeons quests as I can before the end. If I get more time, I’ll try this fight again.
Physical-Weak Quest Level 650 Alexander Fight
Took on the physical-weak quest level 650 Alexander fight with Sephiroth, Aerith, Shadow, Ravus, and Tyro. This fight turned out to be much, much harder when compared to the quest level 580 version.
It took 42.35 seconds before I was able to get Alexander down to 9.8% HP. By then things were looking kinda dire because the effects of my Chain just ran out and I had yet to get it back up.
Tumblr media
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Aerith somehow ended up getting afflicted with the stone debuff so she couldn’t move or do anything anymore.
But since the rest of my chars were all still alive and well and the fight seemed to be nearly over already, decided to keep going.
Well, the good news was that my DPS were able to get Alexander’s HP down to 4.9%. The bad news was that they were all nearly dead now.
As can be seen in the screenshot below, the Last Stand for Sephiroth, Ravus, and Tyro just got triggered. With Aerith out of commission, it was gonna be near impossible to get my chars back to full health.
Tumblr media
Tyro does have Soul Breaks that can restore the party’s HP but he can’t provide Last Stand and he’s not really a healer like Aerith.
At least it looked like my chars still had Aerith’s HP Regen buff active on them but I still needed to get them back to full health ASAP before Alexander attacks again.
Was able to get Shadow to cast his Chain again. Ravus and Sephiroth managed to get Alexander’s HP down to 2.3%.
Unfortunately, my chars were still at low HP. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, Shadow and Ravus also got paralyzed.
Tumblr media
Tyro has a Soul Break that can remove debuffs but before I could cast that, Alexander managed to kill the rest of my party.
Tumblr media
Argh! Was so close already. Alexander was already at 2.3%. My chars had been able to deal 97.7% damag to him already. Just a little bit more, and I would have been able to win. Ugh. Eff this fight. So frustrating.
Tumblr media
Since I was so close to winning this fight already, decided to try it again. Thankfully, this time, was able to get the win. Hell, yes! My team managed to beat Alexander in 42.10 seconds.
Tumblr media
Missed out on the sub-30 but it’s fine. I’ll just see about trying this fight again later on.
Anyway, clearing or mastering this fight for the first time also gave me a bunch of rewards, including a Realm/Elemental x11 ticket and unlocking more tiles from the Record Boards of select chars.
Tumblr media
Labyrinth Nexus S3, Part 4 Info
The boss of this fight is called Earth Guardian (Labyrinth). He is weak to the wind element.
Tumblr media
There are 2 versions of him, one that’s weak to physical wind and another that’s weak to magical wind. Well, there are 4 versions of him if you’re also counting the 2 quest levels.
Physical-Weak Quest Level 580 Earth Guardian Fight
Decided to take on the physical-weak, quest level 580 version of Earth Guardian with the following team:
Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII
Aeris or Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII
Bartz Klauser from Final Fantasy V
Vaan from Final Fantasy XII
Tyro from Final Fantasy Record Keeper
Have the following relics for Cloud Strife:
Limit Break Chain (LBC), Woven Bond: Cloud
Limit Break Guardian Soul Break (LBGS), Guardian Choco-Mog
Dual Awakening Soul Break 1 (DASB1), Awoken Finishing Touch
DASB2, Awoken Darkpetal Bloom
Chain Soul Break+ (CSB+), Bond (Cloud)
True Arcane Soul Break 1 (TASB1) or Arcane Dyad Soul Break 1 (ADSB1), Omnislash
TASB2, Apex Hazardous Darkness
Synchro Arcane Soul Break 1 (SASB1), Apex Slash
SASB3, Mako Strike
Awakened Arcane Soul Break 1 (AASB1), Angelic Synergy
AASB3, Dark Side Braver
Arcane Overstrike Soul Break 2 (AOSB2), Eye of Darkness
AOSB1, Sonic Braver
Ultra Soul Break 1 (USB1), Ultra Cross Slash
USB2, Climirage
USB3, Darkpetal Bloom
Overstrike Soul Break 1 (OSB1), Finishing Touch
OSB2, Cherry Blossom (FFT)
Burst Soul Break 2 (BSB2), Cloud Cycle
BSB1, Fenrir Overdrive
Super Soul Break (SSB), Blade Beam
Unique Soul Break, Climhazzard
Unique Soul Break, Cross Slash
Unique Soul Break, Braver
Glint+ Soul Break 1 (G+1), Aerial Fang
G+2, Jenova Cell Power
G+3, Truth and Illusion
G+4, Triple Slash
Glint Soul Break 1 (G1), Mako Power
G2, Mako Abyss
Default Soul Break, Sonic Break
Legend Materia Relic 1 (LMR1), Sprinting Wolf
LMR2, Truth Surmounted
LMR4, Broken Illusions
LMR5, Borrowed Blade
LMR6, Self Forgiveness
Legend Materia 1, Lone Wolf
Legend Materia 2, Mantle Bearer
Tumblr media
Have most of Cloud’s relics. The only relics I’m missing for Cloud are his LBO, Sync 2, AASB2, BSB3, and LMR3. Too bad I was never able to get any of these before. And now I’ll never be able to because the game is ending already. Sigh.
Anyway, Cloud is a really good physical DPS. He has Soul Breaks that deal either wind or dark elemental damage. He’s better as a wind DPS though. In fact, he’s one of the best wind DPS in this game.
Cloud’s Ultra Cross Slash USB gives him BDL9. IIRC, he and Sephiroth are the only ones in FFRK who can get up to BDL9. For Sephi, his Zanshin USB is the one that gives him BDL9.
So for this fight, Cloud served as my DPS alongside Bartz. Like with Cloud, also have a lot of Bartz’s relics. Unlike with Cloud though, I’m missing a lot of Bartz’s Soul Breaks.
Bartz dabbles in multiple elements. IIRC, I have 2 of his Awakenings and a few of his Syncs, including his wind one. Also have his wind DASB.
Vaan served as my physical wind Chain holder. Aside from his CSB, also have 2 of his Awakenings. So he was also able to help deal damage to the enemy.
As usual, I brought Tyro and Aerith to support the rest of my chars. And as usual, the 2 of them did a really good job. Everyone else did really well too.
This fight was pretty easy. Was able to get the win in exactly 33.00 seconds. It sucks that I missed out on the sub-30 by 3 seconds though.
Tumblr media
Ah, well. Will just have to see about trying this again later on. Anyway, as part of the mastery rewards for clearing this quest, I got another Realm/Elemental x11 ticket and was able to unlock more tiles from the Record Boards of some chars.
Tumblr media
End of Final Fantasy Record Keeper Mobile Game
And that’s it. It’s all over now. At the time I’m writing this part of this post, it’s way past September 29, 2022 so FFRK has just ended its service. Ahh, I still wish that this didn’t have to happen now or anytime soon.
I tried but sadly, wasn’t able to finish all the content in Final Fantasy Record Keeper before the end. I talk more about that in another post.
Couldn’t even finish clearing all of the Labyrinth Dungeons quests. Yeah, there are lots of things that I’m just never gonna be able to do now that FFRK is over. Sigh.
Another thing that’s really upsetting is the way Final Fantasy Record Keeper ended. Its end feels so anticlimactic. Truly a letdown of epic proportions. The game could have tried to do more before everything ended.
Tumblr media
But instead, even before the end, FFRK felt dead already. We stopped getting any new events long before the end.
We got a special banner and some tickets that we could use to pull on said banner. I talk more about that in another post, but we’d get like 1 ticket per day as part of some login bonus campaign or something.
That only lasted for like 30 days or so though. But why couldn’t they have made it last until the end? Why couldn’t they have given us more free pulls?
Why couldn’t they have adjusted the rates or something? Why couldn’t they have made it so that these daily free 10-draws would give us at least 1 6-star or 7-star Soul Break or something?
They didn’t even refresh the Realm and Elemental banners or given us more mythril and Realm/Elemental x11 tickets.
The game could have gone out with a bang but it feels like it all just ended in disappointment.
Conclusion
So what about you? Have you done any of the quests in the Labyrinth Dungeons? What do you think about these fights? What do you think about the fact that Final Fantasy Record Keeper is all over now? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment below or by reblogging or replying to this post.

FOM BLOG: HOLLANDS & BLAIR 0-2 GILLINGHAM XI - PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY PRIOR TO 2023 / 2024 SEASON
My Thoughts On Hollands & Blair V Gillingham XI - First Match Of The 2023 / 2024 Season.
I arrived at Hollands & Blair’s Stadium at 6.30PM, and the stadium car park was already full, which suggested that this friendly could have a high turnout, I paid £5 on the turnstiles for admission, but unfortunately there was no match-day programme, and despite asking on several occasions, and I did keep asking and asking, there was unfortunately no team sheet, and without the team sheet, it makes writing this match report that much more difficult and challenging.
But one of the reasons why the car park was so full is because the younger age groups at Hollands & Blair were training on the pitch prior to Hollands & Blair V Gillingham XI, And this would not have been possible without the installation of a multi-use pitch, Because The Soccer Elite FA And Hollands & Blair ground-share The Star Meadow Sport Complex.
And not only do Hollands & Blair And The Soccer Elite FA ground-share the same stadium, But Gillingham’s U18’s will train every-day here, And Gillingham’s newly created B Team will also play competitive matches here as well, so the newly installed 3G Pitch will have four teams constantly using the pitch, and under-age groups can play and train on here prior to first team matches being played as well.
Hollands & Blair’s stadium has changed a lot since I was last here, the small seated stand has gone and a newly installed small seated stand was installed behind the goal, but that was unavailable to be used on Tuesday Night, the dugouts have switched to the opposite side, and new fences are set up behind both goals, and a new permitter fence goes all the way around the pitch, Unfortunately, there was no covered standing or seating area and given that it was absolutely chucked it down with rain (typical, first pre-season friendly in July and it rains) and that meant that we had no-where to take cover from the rain other then the bar.
I queued up to buy a small portion of chips and a can of coke for £3.50 from the refreshments stand, And I got speaking with a few regular Gillingham Supporters that I know, and we were talking about The Alfie May transfer rumours which have gone into over-drive over the last week or so, Charlton Athletic, Derby County, Gillingham and now Bristol Rovers have all expressed an interest in signing Alfie May, and the questions that need to be asked is how far away are Gillingham from Cheltenham Town’s valuation, because if we are not far off, then maybe a deal can be done, if there is night and day between the two valuations, then Gillingham perhaps need to look elsewhere, Does Alfie May want to drop down into League Two ??? - And how much money in-terms of wages do Gillingham need to offer to get this deal done, Because I have always been of the impression that for Gillingham to sign Alfie May, Gillingham would have to offer Cheltenham Town £400,000, and Alfie May will need to be offered a four year deal on £7,000 a week.
Now that is a lot of money and a long term contract for a player who is thirty years old, now Alfie May is a very good striker and he is scoring goals for fun for Cheltenham Town in League One, But are Gillingham looking at signing alternative transfer targets ??? Dipo Akinyemi has strongly been linked to Gillingham, other strikers include re-signing Aiden O’Brien on loan from Shrewsbury Town, Matty Taylor, Andrew Dallas and Joe Pigott has been released by Ipswich Town are various attacking options, And Gillingham can still sign good players who are unattached and it all depends on if Alfie May is willing to sign for Gillingham in League Two, and what will be the transfer fee and wages required to get the deal over the line ???
Neil Harris and Andy Hessenthaler both turned up to watch Hollands & Blair V Gillingham XI, And I never got to ask the questions regarding how will this B Team Structure work, do we need someone to manage this B Team and do Gillingham need to appoint a coaching staff to run this team, because the first team and youth teams will have there own coaching set up’s, but nothing has been mentioned regarding The B Team Coaching Set Up.
Someone I know mentioned that B Teams have no restrictions on the number of over-aged players who can play in B Team Matches, so it ties into playing players who need minutes from the first team, we can organise friendlies against teams like Brentford B, Other U21 Sides, Kent Non League Sides, and playing against local sides means that it costs less to run A B Team then A U21 Team, who have to play in a structured league system, There might be less restrictions on the number of substitutions for B Team Matches compared to U21 Teams playing in a league, But Gillingham have needed this second team in-between The youth team and first team for a long time now, This was one of the topics Neil Harris spoke about when he was first appointed as Gillingham Manager, and we have now implemented A B Team in-between the first team and youth team.
This Is How Gillingham Lined Up Against Hollands & Blair…… Smith, Orji, Giles, Woodliffe, Trialist, Bayliss, Waldock, De Wilde, Macarthur, Sithole, Heasman - The players who’s names I recognise in this squad are Ike Orgi, Alex Giles, Matt Macarthur and Ronald Sithole, we really could have done with a team sheet for this pre-season friendly, I have seen Bayliss’s name mentioned a few times for the youth team, but cannot remember his first name.
And just as the teams lined up on to the pitch ready for kick off, I took my position standing down the side of the pitch opposite the dugouts as both teams get the first pre-season friendly for The 2023 / 2024 Season underway - COME ON THE GILLS!!!!!!!
FIRST HALF:
And within the first minute of the match, Gillingham had a free kick on the edge of Hollands & Blair’s Penalty Area, And Matt Macarthur’s effort on goal from the resulting free kick deflects out of play for A Gillingham Corner.
Hollands & Blair get through down the right flank, and a low cross across the face of goal required last ditch defending from Gillingham to prevent the hosts from opening the scoring, and after that passage of play, Gills are penalised for handball by our number three on the edge of our penalty area, And Hollands & Blair have been awarded a free kick in a very good position on the pitch, And from the resulting free kick, Gillingham just about survived and managed to clear our defensive lines when we thought Hollands & Blair were going to score - set plays is how I can see Hollands & Blair getting themselves on the score-sheet given the inexperience throughout Gillingham’s match-day squad in this pre-season friendly.
Matt Macarthur’s effort on goal was saved by Dan Ellis in goal for Hollands & Blair, And down the other end of the pitch, Hollands & Blair again attack down the right flank, and again whip in a low dangerous cross which really should have been capitalised on and Gillingham thankfully preserve the score-line at 0-0, But this is how Hollands & Blair are creating there best goal-scoring opportunities, by attacking down there right flank.
Gillingham had a half chance to open the scoring when Matt Macarthur looked to get on to the end of a long ball over the top, but there was just a bit too much pace on the ball and Dan Ellis was able to gather the ball inside his penalty area.
I Think Alex Giles was wearing number six for Gillingham, because it was his defensive header which cleared a dangerous in-swinging cross from the hosts, Gillingham were then awarded a free kick in a decent position on the pitch when Matt Macarthur was fouled, and from the resulting free kick, Matt Macarthur’s effort on goal was blocked by Hollands & Blair’s defensive wall.
Gillingham then had three great opportunities in quick succession to open the scoring, ONE: Ronald Sithole’s fiercely driven effort rises over the crossbar with Dan Ellis beaten in goal for Hollands & Blair TWO AND THREE: Jimmy Heasman’s effort on goal is saved by Dan Ellis, and the follow up effort from Ronald Sithole was also saved by Dan Ellis, when we thought that Gillingham had opened the scoring.
But despite this recent passage of play where Gillingham are in the ascendency, Hollands & Blair were awarded a free kick in a very good position on the pitch, and from the resulting free kick, Smith in goal for Gillingham makes an excellent save to prevent Hollands & Blair from taking the lead.
But Gillingham are continuing to put Hollands & Blair under pressure as Ronald Sithole’s cross is cleared out of play for a corner, Matt Macarthur’s cross from the resulting corner kick is cleared and Jimmy Heasman is on to the loose ball, And Jimmy Heasman whips in a dangerous high and hanging cross towards the far post which is too high for anyone to get on to the end of, and Ike Orgi times his challenge to perfection to prevent Hollands & Blair from hitting Gillingham on the counter attack.
Gillingham open the scoring after twenty seven minutes with a fantastic goal, Matt Macarthur charges down a defensive clearance and the loose ball breaks to Harry Waldock, And Harry Waldock works his way into a shooting position before curling the ball into the top right corner, and there is nothing that Dan Ellis in goal for Hollands & Blair can do about that - HOLLANDS & BLAIR 0-1 GILLINGHAM XI
That goal from Harry Waldock has capped off an impressive performance from the young central midfielder, and the player playing alongside Harry Waldock in central midfield has also been noticeable with his own performance, certainly a player who likes to get stuck into the tackle, win the ball and drive Gillingham forwards, also, that goal has given Gillingham a deserved lead given the chances created by Gillingham in the first half so far.
Hollands & Blair had the chance to level the scoring when a driven effort on goal narrowly clears the crossbar with Smith well and truly in-between the sticks, And after that effort on goal from Hollands & Blair, Gillingham were awarded a free kick when Matt Macarthur was fouled outside the penalty area, and from the resulting free kick, Matt Macarthur’s cross was cleared, and in a separate passage of play, an over-hit pass from Gillingham saw the ball go out of play for A Hollands & Blair Goal-Kick.
Hollands & Blair create two great goal-scoring opportunities, and again, the hosts look strong down the right side, this time getting through to the byline, and the low cross is blocked, then blocked again and Hollands & Blair try to create a decent opportunity from the second phase of the same attack before Ike Orgi times his challenge to perfection and just boots the ball clear, better decision making in the final third, and Hollands & Blair would have equalised for 1-1.
And down the opposite end of the pitch, And Jimmy Heasman’s low cross almost picks out Ronald Sithole and last ditch defending from Hollands & Blair kept the score-line to 1-0, and in a separate goal-scoring opportunity, Gillingham almost doubled there lead to 2-0 when Ronald Sithole’s low effort towards goal was turned around the near post by Dan Ellis, who has made a fantastic save to keep Hollands & Blair in this match.
But In The Forty Third Minute Of The Match, Gillingham did double there lead, Ike Orgi and Ronald Sithole try to link up down the right, but Hollands & Blair manage to get the ball partially clear and number four passes the ball to number six for Gillingham, who passes the ball down the line towards Ike Orgi, who takes a touch to set himself, And Ike Orgi whips in a fantastic cross and Jimmy Heasman headers the ball into the back of the net from close range to double Gillingham’s lead to 2-0 - HOLLANDS & BLAIR 0-2 GILLINGHAM XI.
And 2-0 perhaps reflects on the chances that Gillingham have created throughout the first half, but 2-0 should have been 3-0 moments later, a deflected effort on goal from Gillingham hits the top of the crossbar, and Ronald Sithole should have scored the re-bound for 3-0, and how Ronald Sithole has not scored I have no idea, and the final noteworthy moment of the first half was a free kick awarded to Hollands & Blair which didn’t lead to a goal-scoring opportunity for the hosts.VVVV
HALF TIME: HOLLANDS & BLAIR 0-2 GILLINGHAM XI
Gillingham deserve to be leading 2-0 at half time, and Ronald Sithole and Jimmy Heasman have both had opportunities to extend the lead further in Gillingham’s Favour, Ike Orgi has been high and wide on the right flank, providing Gillingham with plenty of width in Hollands & Blair’s final third, Matt Macarthur is a player with a lot of quality, low centre of gravity, can take a free kick and it was great to hear from Matt Macarthur himself that he has signed a new contract.
We found out from one of the coaches that Taite Holtam is training with the first team, and maybe Taite Holtam will play against Dover Athletic if Neil Harris decides not to play one of Jake Turner or Glenn Morris in goal on Saturday, In My Five Potential Goalkeeper Signings Blog LINK IS HERE - https://fan-of-mulligan.tumblr.com/post/718862873519144960/fom-blog-five-potential-goalkeeper-signings-for - I recommended five goalkeepers who Gillingham could sign to be our third choice goalkeeper, because goalkeepers do not count towards The 22 over 21 rule which is a rule that is in place for this season, And Gillingham have got the finances and resources available to have three senior first team goalkeepers on the books this season.
And with pre-season friendlies arranged against Deal Town, Sheppey United, Sittingbourne and Lordswood, Gillingham can take goalkeepers on trial and really take our time looking to sign another goalkeeper, But maybe, Taite Holtam will be promoted into the senior set up as our third choice goalkeeper and Neil Harris will have Glenn Morris, Jake Turner and Taite Holtam as our three senior goalkeepers this season, Because I would have thought we would have seen Taite Holtam in goal for Gillingham against Hollands & Blair.
I was speaking to Gary and Ben at half time, and one thing to take into consideration is the fact that one of our substitutes for the first team in league games, must be “ A Club Development Player” That means Sam Gale, Alex Giles, Ronald Sithole, Taite Holtam, Josh Chambers and Joe Gbode can be named on the bench, and because you have to have “A Club Development Player” on the bench, this makes The B Team Set Up that much more important, and Gillingham have to produce players for the first team, because one of your seven subs has to be a player that comes through the youth system.
And speaking of Joe Gbode, I imagine that Joe Gbode, Josh Chambers and maybe Lewis Walker will drop down to get minutes for Gillingham XI Sides, once we start to make additional signings over the coming weeks, And Joe Gbode is probably the type of player missing in this Gillingham XI Side, someone with physical presence who can play alongside Ronald Sithole and Matt Macarthur.
This is how Gillingham were going to line up for the second half against Hollands & Blair,,,,,,, Sullivan, Webster, Taiwo-Pratt, Trialist, Dobbs, Clark, Khumba, White, Murray, Garrett, Trialist - No idea on squad numbers for any of the players now, and we will be playing a complete guessing game on who is who, just like Bearsted Away on both occasions I have been there where Gillingham have sent XI Sides to Bearsted for pre-season friendlies - now that is one football stadium which is truly in the middle of no-where.
SECOND HALF:
The start of the second half was not as action packed compared to the first half, and the first noteworthy moment of the second half was Hollands & Blair winning a corner kick, which didn’t result in a meaningful opportunity for the hosts, but if Hollands & Blair are going to get themselves on the score-sheet, it is going to come from a set piece.
Gillingham had the chance to extend the score-line even further in our favour to 3-0, And Number 18 for Gillingham saw his fiercely driven effort on goal saved by Dan Ellis and parried wide and out of play for A Gillingham Corner, Gillingham created a half chance from the resulting corner kick, But Hollands & Blair managed to clear there defensive lines.
A Succession of throw on’s broke up the pattern of play combined with the terrible weather, even The Linesman in-front of us mentioned that it always rains when he has officiated at Hollands & Blair, But back to matters happening on the pitch, number 18 for Gillingham should have been booked for a very reckless challenge, and The Referee showed a lot of leniency not to book number 18 for a poor challenge and Hollands & Blair were awarded a free kick on the halfway line, and from the resulting free kick, a long diagonal cross-field cross was flicked on by A Hollands & Blair Player and Sullivan reacts to the knock-down quickly by getting to the ball first, good anticipation from the young Gillingham Goalkeeper.
Down the opposite end of the pitch, Hollands & Blair are penalised for a foul on Gillingham’s Number 19, And Gillingham are awarded a free kick in a decent position on the pitch, and from the resulting free kick, Number 12 clips in a dangerous cross which is headed clear and out of play for A Gillingham Corner Kick, and although the corner didn’t result in a meaningful goal-scoring opportunity, we are seeing Gillingham continue to create chances despite making wholesale changes at half time.
The next passage of play see’s Gillingham on the front-foot, Gillingham’s Number Nine, gets on to the end of a decent pass out-wide, takes on the left back, but runs out of room by the byline, And Number Nine’s low cross goes out of play for a goal-kick at the near post, In a separate attack, Number 18 was almost on on goal for Gillingham, Before A Hollands & Blair player makes a crucial interception.
And down the opposite end of the pitch, Hollands & Blair had the chance to score for 1-2 down, and a dangerous cross towards the far post was just too high for any player to get on the end of, and the ball goes out of play for A Gillingham Goal-Kick, Gillingham had another opportunity to add to the score-line, When Number 15 For Gills see’s his effort on goal from inside the penalty area go narrowly wide of the far post with a curling effort which had Dan Ellis well and truly beaten - had that effort been on target, Gillingham would have scored for 3-0.
Hollands & Blair were looking to create a decent attacking opportunity, until Number 14 made a crucial interception in Gillingham’s final third, But after that challenge from Number 14, Hollands & Blair had a spell in the game where they were on top, winning a corner kick which didn’t lead to a goal-scoring opportunity, and a free kick in a very promising position on the pitch, which Hollands & Blair wasted by getting flagged for offside from there own free kick, Number 12 for Gillingham had to make a crucial challenge to knock the ball out of play for a throw on, And Number 14 for Gillingham was penalised for a foul.
A last ditch challenge from A Hollands & Blair Player diverted the ball out of play A Gillingham Corner Kick, and from the resulting corner, Number 14 whips in a dangerous cross which is flicked on and Dan Ellis makes an important save in goal for Hollands & Blair, But Gillingham continue to put Hollands & Blair under pressure by winning several corner kicks in quick succession, A Dangerous Gills cross from a corner kick is palmed away from danger by Dan Ellis for another corner kick, Number 12 for Gills whips in a dangerous cross which is headed clear and out of play for another corner.
And the onslaught continued, as another Gillingham cross was headed partially clear and away from goal, and Gillingham’s Number 7 works his way into a shooting position, before seeing his effort on goal brilliantly saved by Dan Ellis, who parried the ball wide and away from goal, And Gillingham are awarded another corner kick, which eventually lead to another corner kick, and finally Hollands & Blair were able to clear there defensive lines.
At the other end of the pitch, Hollands & Blair were awarded a free kick within shooting territory as Gillingham were penalised for a foul, and the effort on goal from the resulting free kick was brilliantly saved by Sullivan, who parried the ball wide and away from goal and out for a corner, and from the resulting corner kick, Hollands & Blair whip in a dangerous cross and Sullivan was well positioned off his line to gather the high and hanging cross.
And in a separate attack, Gills have to resort to desperate defending to clear the ball out of play for A Hollands & Blair Corner Kick, and from the resulting corner, and just like the previous corner kick, Sullivan was well positioned to gather the high and hanging cross, perhaps with Hollands & Blair having more experience and know how, Sullivan was told to claim any high ball inside our penalty area, And Hollands & Blair are pushing for a consolation goal as the hosts were awarded a free kick in a very promising position on the pitch, and from the resulting free kick, Hollands & Blair whip in another dangerous cross and Sullivan was well positioned to claim the high ball aimed towards the far post.
And the final noteworthy moment of the match was a well timed challenge on A Gillingham Player as Gillingham looked to counter right at the end of the match.
FULL TIME: HOLLANDS & BLAIR 0-2 GILLINGHAM XI
So Gillingham win our first pre-season friendly in preparation for The 2023 / 2024 Season, 2-0 could have been 4-0 with the chances created, But Hollands & Blair perhaps thought they could have got themselves on the score-sheet, especially in the first half when Hollands & Blair looked strong down there right side - Gillingham’s Left - I just wished the weather conditions were better then chucking it down with rain, especially as Hollands & Blair do not have any covered standing or seating stands at The Star Meadow Sports Complex.
And maybe with this joint partnership between Hollands & Blair, The Soccer Elite FA, and Gillingham Football Club, maybe all three sides can help fund some improvements to the stadium, Down the dugout side of the pitch, perhaps where the old seated stand used to be situated, perhaps a bigger seated stand which is raised above pitch level could be installed at the ground, and maybe down the opposite side where myself and a few other Gillingham Supporters were standing, a covered terrace could be put down that side of the football pitch, even if it ran halfway down and the goalposts do not have to be moved, obviously, ground maintenance and improvements cost money, but you do need some covered seats or standing to play in The SCEFL, and perhaps Hollands & Blair are working on the necessary ground improvements, as well as having additional capacity covered for when the club get larger league attendances.
And speaking of attendances, 325 is impressive, especially given the poor weather conditions combined with the fact that this match wasn’t really advertised much, Gillingham did tweet about this game happening prior to the match being played on Tuesday Night, But I don’t know how many people knew the game was going ahead, or, perhaps some people knew the game was going ahead, but are going to Dover Athletic away instead.
I should have asked one of Mark Moss, Andy Hessenthaler or Neil Harris how will this B Team get implemented, ask questions about specific staff appointments needed and required to run The B Team and more details regarding how this B Team will work between the first team and youth team, when I go to other XI Friendlies, hopefully I can find out more about this, Because Gillingham are playing against Lordswood, Sheppey United, Chatham Town, and Sittingbourne, and I am going to go to all four friendlies, there of course is the possibility that now that Gillingham have played Hollands & Blair in pre-season, Gillingham will announce key specific details of the partnership between both football clubs.
But if your a first or second year scholar, a player in the different age groups at the football club, or even first year pro’s like Alex Giles, Sam Gale, Ronald Sithole and Joe Gbode, then this is a good time to be at Gillingham Football Club as a young player, because with the implementation of A B Team in-between the first team and youth team, there is now a pathway into the first team, and your stepping up a level from The Youth Merit League to play for this newly created B Team, who can go from playing pre-season friendlies against other B Teams, to playing matches against Kent Non League Sides, to playing against other academy teams, or even a inter-squad friendly against Gillingham’s First Team.
And for young players who need to go out on loan, maybe there is the opportunity to go to Hollands & Blair, Chatham Town, Sheppey United and other Kent Non League Teams on loan to experience playing competitive first team football, And looking at the players playing for Gillingham last night against Hollands & Blair, there is a good crop of young players coming through, and now we can include the young players either in the youth team, go out on loan to gain first team football, play for the newly created B Team, or if they do really well, play for the first team, there is just more options for our young players now.
And there is also an opportunity for our young players to force there way into the first team for The Football League Trophy Matches, Gillingham will obviously be prioritising League Two, The FA Cup and The League Cup for the first team, But Gillingham should name the minimum amount of first team players required for Football League Trophy Games, and obviously, The Kent Senior Cup is used for youth development for Gillingham, But Neil Harris can give players game-time who are on the fringe of the first team in The Football League Trophy, and protect our key first team players for important league games.
In-terms of players who performed well, Ike Orgi, Ronald Sithole, Matt Macarthur, all stood out with there respective performances, But Harry Waldock capped off his own individual performance with a truly magnificent strike to open the scoring for Gillingham, and the midfielder who played alongside him in central midfield also impressed, And Sullivan in goal in the second half put in a commendable performance in-between the sticks, But Harry Waldock would probably be the player who would get Gillingham’s Man Of The Match for me, not just for the goal, which was excellent, but his performance in midfield just impressed us on the day.
