Jujutsu Kaisen and Assassin's Creed crossover! What would be each assassin's curse technique? What's their domain expansion? What grade are they?
I was half-tempted to make them Cursed Spirit just for the heck of it but let’s go for them being sorcerers in general. For this one, I’ll try to make their cursed techniques and domain expansion kinda like a reference to their games… Imma try anyway XD
So let’s talk about a brief description of each for those unfamiliar with Jujutsu Kaizen:
Cursed Technique: In a nutshell, sorcerers uses cursed energy to activate their techniques and that’s why it’s called Cursed Technique.
Domain Expansion: I am probably going to screw up the explanation but the main point is a Domain Expansion is a closed ‘space’ created from the mind of the user (usually a reflection of their mind) that guarantees to amplify their curse techniques (or evolve it or mutate it) and give it a 100% hit rate. Not every sorcerer can use a Domain Expansion and it’s noted as a sign that a sorcerer has reached the top of their capability (allegedly).
Grade: Each sorcerer has a Grade that shows their ‘capabilities’ and experience with 4 being the lowest (weak or inexperienced or your family is a pile of trash dicks who is keeping you from promoting), 3 is average, 2 is above average, 1 is the highest status… unless you count Special Grade which is reserved for those who are super dangerous, mostly those with immeasurable destructive power
(Since some curse techniques are hereditary, a bit of backstory would be necessary)
Note: All Cursed Techniques/Domain Expansion names are subject to change because I am bad at naming stuff and they were all translated by Cambridge Dictionary so if it’s wrong, blame them. Also, their Grades is not their final grade but their grade when the ‘story’ starts. In this situation, I kinda like the idea of Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton being the upperclassmen to Arno, Jacob and Evie. XD
Altaïr: semi-Grade 2, barred from promotion by the Sinan Family’s Elders
The adopted child of the Sinan Family who is rumored to have killed his adoptive father, Rashid, and is said to be under investigation, barring him from promotion until further notice.
Cursed Technique: Hollow Illusions
Altaïr is able to create illusions that cannot be distinguished from reality. It cannot physically harm his opponents but real objects may be hidden in the illusions (ex: hiding a time bomb in an illusion of a person his opponent loves). He can create illusions of anything he knows and have seen and his illusions can even copy living beings down to their quirks and habits using the knowledge his opponent has about them (it’s unsure how but Altaïr believes that his cursed technique doesn’t really create illusions but infects anyone with the ‘thought’ of that illusion and invades their mind for more information). He mostly uses this to confuse or debilitate enemies while using his sword to finish them. Hollow Illusions cost a lot of energy and Altaïr can only use up to 5 average human male size illusions per day… unless he pushes himself but this comes at the cost of harming his internal organs.
Domain Expansion: مكتبة الإبداع [Library of Creation] (“Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted”)
A pure white dome with bookcases filled with books and parchments as walls. Each book and parchments correspond to the ‘laws of reality’. In this dome, Altaïr has complete control over every law that governs the universe and the living beings inside and anything that is created in this domain can be stated as ‘real’ and any ‘real’ thing in this domain can be stated as ‘illusion’ at his whim. (if Altaïr’s theory that his technique invades the mind directly then this domain’s real danger lies in Altaïr’s ability to invade anyone’s mind and change it to his will… of course, that theory has not yet been proven).
Ezio: semi-Grade 2, Auditore Family
The second oldest son of the Auditore Family, an old sorcerer family that has been one of the most influential families in their world.
Cursed Technique: Auditore Family’s Light Absorption
Ezio can use his cursed technique to absorb any source of light, amplifying his cursed energy. He uses his amplified cursed energy to coat his weapons and deal massive damage. (He can even absorb the light of a phone’s screen, it does not need to be natural light)
Domain Expansion: Teatro della Tenebre [Theatre of Darkness] (“We work in the dark to serve the light”)
His domain absorbs all sources of light inside the domain, engulfing everything into darkness. Being hit by a spotlight means being engulfed in a pillar of pure cursed energy meant to deal severe damage (ala Moonbeam) if it hits anything other than Ezio. Being hit by the spotlight amplifies all of Ezio’s attacks and acts as a shield that negates all incoming damage. The domain is also able to absorb the light outside of it, ensuring that Ezio will have unlimited energy in the domain.
Ratonhnhaké:ton: semi-Grade 2
The illegitimate son of the missing Haytham Kenway, part of the Kenway family, a branch family of the Auditore family. He strives to become a sorcerer to find the Cursed Spirit who burned his village to the ground and killed his mother.
Cursed Technique: Auditore Family’s Light Absorption
Inherited from his ‘missing’ father, Haytham Kenway, Ratonhnhaké:ton absorbs light to amplify his own body, making him faster, stronger and more durable.
Domain Expansion: I can’t find any English to the Kanien'kehá:ka language translator but just assume his Domain Expansion’s name is from his native language and it translate to “The Night Hunt” (“We work in the dark to serve the light”)
His domain is engulfed in darkness and Ratonhnhaké:ton stalks his preys in the darkness, the amplification of his body shrouding him in cursed energy that seemed to take the form of different animals. Like Ezio (and anyone with a domain expansion from the Auditore family), he can absorb more light to amplify his cursed energy from outside the domain.
Desmond: Ungraded → Grade 4 (debatably: Special Grade)
Of course, we’re going to shower Desmond with affection by making his life ‘complicated’. Desmond is born of the Miles family, a branch family of the Auditore family with William Miles, his father, as the current head of the family. He’s the cousin of both Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton (of differing degrees) and his birth is shrouded in mystery for one specific reason: no one knows who his mother is. His mother disappeared (or died???) when he was 3 in an incident that everyone is forbidden to talk about (all they know is that Desmond is the sole survivor) and investigations concluded that his mother’s identity never existed. He doesn’t want to be a sorcerer and he actually ran away from the Miles family… until he got into another incident where every being in a closed room with him is left dead in varying degree of gore while he slept in the middle of the room, exactly as it happened back when he lost his mother. Because of this, he’s been given to Edward Kenway to survey and, if necessary, put down.
Cursed Technique: Auditore Family’s Light Absorption – Incomplete(???)
He can absorb light, sure… but it doesn’t amplify his cursed energy at all. No one knows why. Desmond cannot even use cursed energy at all even though he can see cursed spirit. For some reason, Desmond can also absorb cursed energy itself. Edward theorizes that this is the ‘final’ form of the Auditore’s Light Absorption, to absorb cursed energy from others. But they still can’t understand why Desmond can’t use cursed energy when it’s clear that he can absorb it. Some believes this is because Desmond hasn’t mastered it while others believe it’s a drawback of being able to absorb cursed energy.
Domain Expansion: “None”
As far as everyone can see, Desmond does not have a Domain Expansion.
Edward: Grade 1, leader/teacher of Altaïr, Ezio, Ratonhnhaké:ton and Desmond’s team
The ex-head of the Kenway Family (the current head is his daughter, Jenny) who has turned to instructing students and is the current instructor of Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton. He was given Desmond because of his mastery of the Auditore Family’s Light Absorption as well as a personal favor from William Miles who was unwilling to take Desmond back (“He wouldn’t want to see me. It might just make him more uncooperative if I was to try and take him back to our family. He is safer with you than he would ever be with me.”)
Cursed Technique: Auditore Family’s Light Absorption
He absorbs light and can coat the cursed energy taken from that light in any object. His primary weapon is pistols (4 of them, in fact) and his bullets are all coated in cursed energy. He cannot create bullets made of cursed energy but his mastery over the Auditore Family’s cursed technique means he can coat anything (object, living person) with his cursed energy and can absorb light immediately. Desmond’s pistol and bullets coated with cursed energy is from him so Desmond could protect himself.
Domain Expansion: Raise the Black Flag (“We work in the dark to serve the light”)
The domain is filled with cursed energy showing as black water that Edward can use at any time but acts like acid to those inside his domain. Rotting planks acts as ‘safe ground’ to them and the domain’s walls turn into cannons made of darkness, firing blasts after blasts to all enemies in the domain.
Arno: Grade 3
The son of a veteran sorcerer who died from a cursed spirit (probably?) while on his way to get his son from the park where he was playing with a mysterious red-haired girl. He finds his father’s body and is taken in by the sorcerers soon after.
Cursed Technique: Des Sens Partagés (Shared Senses)
Arno can share senses to any target and it doesn’t have to be human. Those with cursed energy are easier to share senses with and Arno can choose to make it one-way or two-way. He uses it more for surveillance and reconnaissance, acting as a commanding officer in the field.
Domain Expansion: Sens en Bouteille (Bottled Senses) – still incomplete
He’s still working on it but his domain is meant for him and his opponents to share everything with Arno being able to choose how ‘deep’ their bond is. Arno can also take his opponents senses, debilitating them. As a last result, Arno can harm himself to harm his opponent.
Evie: Grade 3
Evie will be our Maki Zen’in, unable to see curses but still wishing to be a sorcerer. She’s considered a prodigy in her own regards and has both an inferior complex and an academic rivalry with Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad because people like to say “If she could just use cursed energy, she would have been as good as Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad”. The Frye family supports her and is even pushing for her to be named the heir, making them a ‘joke’ in the eyes of many other sorcerer families.
Cursed Technique and Domain Expansion: None
She uses cursed tools and is granted a more durable and faster body than even high leveled sorcerers by Heavenly Restriction. Arno usually shares his senses with her so she can see cursed spirits but she has tools to help her if Arno can’t share his senses. If she pushed herself, she can be as fast as Ratonhnhaké:ton in his domain. However, the prejudice and mocking she received as a child makes her have a hard time with mental-heavy cursed techniques like illusions.
Jacob: Grade 3
Evie Frye’s twin and a sorcerer who joined because it was ‘tradition’. He’s friendly and doesn’t seem to take anything seriously. Underneath, he believes it would have been better if he was the one that can’t see cursed energy instead of his twin. He also can’t help but think the Frye family’s support of Evie is a show of how much of a disappointment he is.
Cursed Technique: The Frye Family’s Emotional Manipulation
A cursed technique of the Frye family that can manipulate emotions of the targets, make them calm to the point of not wishing to fight or stop someone from killing them. Jacob can only target 1 target at once but the common target is usually 3. He’s still ‘learning’ the ropes as he calls it but many believes his lack of progress is either deliberate to make Evie a worthy successor or he is being hindered by his own hidden inferiority complex.
Domain Expansion: The Fall of Terror – incomplete
A domain in which Jacob can freely control the emotions of everything in it. The final form of this domain would have every being fall into complete terror, paralyzing them and, in some cases, making them harm themselves.
Bayek: Grade 1
The headmaster of the ‘school’ Desmond is sent to. He lost his son to a group of organized cursed spirits that they are still hunting down. His wife has gone missing, presumably turning rogue to hunt the same cursed spirits without waiting for the approval of the council.
Cursed Technique: Soul Fire
Bayek is able to use his cursed energy to create flames that have the same mythical properties people believe Greek Fire to have. His main weapon is a sword that is covered in his Soul Fire. This fire cannot be snuffed out for as long as Bayek has cursed energy and can melt through the toughest of metal and even the strongest barriers recorded by the sorcerers.
Domain Expansion: آكل القلوب (Eater of Hearts)
His domain is shown to be ruins with the ground submerged in water. His Soul Fire turns into a large glowing snake that attacks anything in the domain and Bayek trades his sword for a bow made of the same flames. His arrows are purely made of Soul Fire as well and he coordinates his attack with the flaming snake that hunts the domain.
Basim: Grade 2
A thief who accidentally got mixed up in all these because the one he was stealing from had an object that contained a cursed spirit. This cursed spirit killed its ‘owner’ and was about to kill Basim. It unfortunately ate his partner in crime and childhood friend Nehal. Preliminary report stated that there is no evidence of any other person at all and many believed that this Nehal has been completely devoured by the cursed spirit before Basim’s current instructor, Roshan, got to the scene and saved Basim from the same fate.
Cursed Technique: Focused Strikes
Basim marks his targets in a specific radius and teleports to each of their location to attack in rapid succession. Almost always lethal but takes a lot of cursed energy. He can only mark up to 3 targets right now but, with enough training, he will be able to mark up to 5 targets.
Domain Expansion: سجن الجن (Djinn Prison) - incomplete
A domain haunted by a djinn that attacks anything in the domain. The entire domain is surrounded by shadowy figures that stand still while the djinn stalks and attacks everyone. The djinn cannot be attacked or killed. Because of the incompleteness of the domain, the Djinn will also attack Basim if it sees him.
.
.
‘Unknown’ Domain Expansion that killed everyone in Desmond Miles’ 3rd birthday party (his father was away on business) and Desmond Miles’ old workplace Bad Weather
Sole survivor: Desmond Miles
“A Reader’s Dream”
A domain expansion that creates hooded figures that kills everything in sight with a blade on their left arm. They can be killed with one shot but more will be summoned as time passes. Each figure wears a hood, keeping their faces obscured. The domain appears like a gray area shrouded in light mist and lines will start to form all over. The more glowing lines there is, the harder for anyone or anything in the domain to move. Each time this domain is activated, it seems to be larger, as if it had been receiving cursed energy from somewhere and had been storing it. The domain itself does not show its user.

3. Okay so I was right aziz knows that Ekim is Ekim and is playing her bc of the mask and yo annoy Kanat
4. Is Kanat in the same year as the rest of them? This man in never in class
5. Ekim better watch how she acts with Bekir 🔪🔪 wtf do you blame him for everything. She’s pissing me off
6. What if Mel clique are the ones behind the mask???
7. That laugh??? Mel is scary. I can’t believe they made her a stand by your man 😭
8. Mel does not like this man. Can she stop forcing it. All she wants is to win
9. YESSSSSSS LEYLA! Let Ayse go to school
10. 35 min in and I’m yet to see ozi
11. I’m so confused by aziz is2g. Does he like Ekim or what?
12. I LOVE BEKIR SO MUCH. HIS SINGING HAS ME LOOOOOL
13. Pls aziz looks like he wants to hurt Bekir over a damn chocolate.
14. OZIIIIII ❤️❤️
15. Aziz is in love with Ekim. Him looking at her when speaking about love ?? Yeah
16. ‘’My destiny seems a bit off’ OZAN 🥲☹️
17. Not Mel being the only one laughing at Ozans stupid jokes 🥺🥺
18. Selim defo got triggered. I wonder if he has a background in bullying? He is either a victim or repenting. I think repenting
19. Yup he is defo repenting
20. Dahgan and Ayse are so adorable! HELPING HER STUDYING OMFG ISIK SINAN VIBES I LOVE THEM
21. I don’t trust Bahar. I think she’s behind the mask. She gives me lowkey mean girl vibes

26. WAIT WAIT WAIT ??? Did ozan and Mel hook up at some point??? What does “you should have learnt by now that no one can come between me and kanat” mean??? 👀 it seemed like a direct jab to ozi rather than a general statement
27. Not Mel saying she smells ew but ozan loving the moment 😭😭😭🤣 also, love how she was okay with him helping her over her so called friends. Actually it seems like he is the only one she accepts serious help from 👀 she even called ozi before Kanat
28. Kanat and Mel are both manipulative towards each other. Idk why people wanna make it seem like only Mel is a bad person when he clearly playing with her feelings
29. I love the sound of the whistles during the romantic scenes
30. The friendships are so badly written and so is the chemistry between that group. The mean group has better chemistry and Ayse + Bekir also have better chemistry with the mean group
31. What did the father do??? So mels mum is alive or what? I think the reason she’s so obsessed with Kanat is bc she doesn’t want a repeat of her parents marriage. She is mad at her dad for not fighting for her mum, so she’s fighting for Kanat despite not being into him. She doesn’t want to fail at this
32. Kanat is most likely going to get Ekim a house
33. Whenever I see leylas shrine of Kanat I lose it laughing 😭🤣
34. Riza is effing scary
35. So Riza was an aziz growing up … I also wonder if his marriage to the mum was arranged.
36. BEKIR I LUV YOU BESTIE 😭🤣 hkm and ceyda? Lmaooo
37. No seriously? What does Kanat do at this school beside drive aziz and play sport??? What year is he in??
38. I really enjoyed the ep. My only criticism is how badly the good side friendships are written + that we don’t really see Ekim or Kanats personality
Also, the actor who plays Bekir is too good. You could sense his fear towards Ozan and his need to protect asye and ekim.

ISLAM 101: AN INTRODUCTION TO HADITH: Part 13
Amr Bi-Ma’ruf wa An-Nahy An Al-Munkar (Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil)
Abu Said al-Khudri, may Allah be well pleased with him, said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: ‘Whoever of you sees something wrong should change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart, and that is the weakest form of belief.’” (Sahih Muslim, Iman, 78. See also: Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Fitan, 11; Sunan an-Nasa’i, Iman, 17).
NARRATOR
Abu Said al-Khudri
Sa’d ibn Malik ibn Sinan ibn Ubayd’s father had become Muslim in Medina when the message of Islam was first conveyed in the city; Abu Said was born into a Muslim family.
Abu Said al-Khudri is among the mukthirun Companions of the Prophet, who narrated over a thousand hadith.
Abu Said participated in the construction of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. He was too young to participate in the Battle of Badr, but took part in the Battle of Uhud alongside his father.
He passed away in the seventy-fourth year after the Emigration, at eighty-one years of age.
EXPLANATION
Ma’ruf denotes a thing accepted as good in Islam and encompasses everything in the sphere of obedience to Allah. On the contrary, Munkar is those things not approved of in Islam and deemed to be a transgression against Allah. The responsibility of enjoining the ma’ruf and forbidding the munkar is religiously incumbent upon Muslims. The obligatory nature of this has been established with the Book and the Sunnah. In addition, this religious obligation is one of the greatest of all religious obligations and constitutes the backbone of the religion. The formation of a group that would realize this mission is a collective duty (fard al-kifaya). The Muslim community is obligated to raise a community to fulfill this duty. If this is not accomplished, the entire community will be held accountable and cannot be absolved from responsibility.
Allah declares:
“The hypocrites, both men, and women are all of a kind: enjoining and promoting what is evil and forbidding and trying to prevent what is right and good…” (at-Tawbah 9:67).
However, the qualities of the believers in this regard are described thus:
“The believers, both men and women, they are guardians, confidants, and helpers of one another. They enjoin and promote what is right and good and forbid and try to prevent the evil…” (at-Tawbah 9:71).
Is the duty of enjoining the good and preventing evil merely the duty of a community established solely for this task? Don’t human beings hold individual responsibilities in this regard? The obligation of promoting good and trying to prevent evil is common to all believers. Such verses as,
“Do you enjoin upon people holiness and virtue but forget your own selves,” (al-Baqarah 2:44)
and
“Most odious it is in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not (and will not) do,” (as-Saff 61:3)
demonstrate that all individuals in society are charged with the duty of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. No one can absolve themselves in this regard. Advocating the good and striving to prevent the evil to the best of their ability is a command that is absolutely binding on every individual Muslim (fard al-ayn).
Muslim scholars have asserted that, in the general sense, changing something that is wrong with one’s hand is the duty of administrators, changing it with one’s tongue is the duty of scholars, and changing it with the heart falls upon the people, and those unable to actualize the others. If changing an evil is going to give rise to even greater disorder and evil, such as killing, than one must suffice with changing it verbally, or by means of advice and counsel. If speaking is similarly going to endanger or threaten, then trying to change that wrong with one’s heart must be preferred. Implied in changing something with one’s heart is to view that thing as repugnant and to abhor it inwardly.
Amr bi-ma’ruf wa an-nahy an al-munkar is a path leading to the purpose of one’s creation. Allah revealed to display the palace of the universe for precisely this reason and again charged the human being therein with this mission.
“There must be among you a community calling to good, and enjoining and actively promoting what is right, and forbidding and trying to prevent evil (in appropriate ways). They are those who are the prosperous” (Al Imran 3:104).
Indeed, there must be in society, a community carrying out Amr bi-ma’ruf wa an-nahy an al-munkar, inviting to good and prevent wickedness, showing human beings what is true and right, and who are themselves upon the path of righteousness.
If there, is in a particular place, a community enjoining the good and striving to prevent evil, Allah the Almighty promises to protect the people of that place from all afflictions and disasters. It is not possible for another to provide such a guarantee. He declares:
And it has never been the way of your Lord to destroy the townships unjustly while their people were righteous, dedicated to continuous self-reform and setting things right in the society. (Hud 11:117)
Allah does not impose punishment upon a place wherein the duty of calling people to what is right and working to prevent the wrong is realized. Thus, the Prophet states,
“Anyone who creates a good Sunnah in Islam has its reward.”
It is not possible to consider the enterprise of promoting good and preventing evil without reflecting upon Mus’ab ibn Umayr, his self-sacrifice, his endeavors, as well as his method:
The First Teacher
The Medinan natives who had embraced Islam at the first Aqaba Allegiance wrote to the Messenger of Allah, saying:
“O Messenger of Allah, Islam has been declared among us and has begun to spread. Send to us a person who will invite the people to the Book of Allah, to recite the Qur’an to us, teach us the religion of Islam, demonstrate and establish its practices and commandments, and lead us in the Prayer.”
Upon this, Allah’s Messenger appointed Mus’ab ibn Umayr to Medina, instructing him to teach the natives of Medina how to read the Qur’an, to teach them Islam, to help them understand its commandments and prohibitions, and to lead them in Prayer.
Mus’ab ibn Umayr reached Medina in a short time and was greeted with great jubilation. He was hosted at the residence of As’ad ibn Zurara, one of the first Medinan Muslims. There, he began to teach the people their religion and, by virtue of his great efforts and service, Islam spread rapidly throughout the city until it reached every house.
LESSONS FROM THE HADITH
The establishment of an administration that would promote the good and work to prevent evil, raising scholars to realize this task, and forming a community to undertake this endeavor is a collective obligation upon the Muslims.
Advocating what is right and trying to prevent what is wrong is a duty that is absolutely binding upon every Muslim, to their own ability and capacity.
Preventing evil in society with the hand is, broadly speaking, the duty of administrators, prevention with the tongue, or through verbal communication, teaching, counsel and advice, is the duty of scholars and the learned, and reacting to evil with the heart, expressing abhorrence and aversion, is the duty of the community.
Promoting the good and trying to prevent the evil is the common responsibility of the Muslim community.

Hi there buddy, my name is Athena. I'm coming to say hi, see how you're doing and this is a chance to ramble about your wips. How many ocs do you have, how many have been through a lot and do you keep everything tracked and organised with tables and stuff?
Hi Athena!!
I've finally finished the first draft of 1 billion years of a plate tectonic simulation for my world, so I'm doing great!
How many OCs: depending on which ones count, I think somewhere in the general vicinity of 40, though plenty of them aren't really developed (and some are unnamed though I have a decent mental idea of them). Actually, y'know what, just for fun I'm gonna see if I can name them all without checking my notes:
Elvan of Aileron (main character), Hakan/Emir (Elvan's little brother), Asenath (Elvan's lover, initially a slave in the palace), Tyros (Elvan's son with Theos), Theos of Orontes (Elvan's husband and next in line for the throne of Korsan), Calyx/Esir (Elvan's slave), Xayanat (Calyx's friend), Khadagan (Elvan's servant), Nazorat (master of the slaves in the Orontes palace), Khiana (pirate captain of The Promise), Amenset (Khiana's best friend and second in command), Amarsin (also on the crew), Leovin (crew), İpek (crew), Enitan (crew), Leyla (Khiana's protege and Amarsin's best friend), Lucian (Leyla's first master), Aletheia (Lucian's wife), Tanis (cook in Lucian and Aletheia's household), Hadrian (Leyla's second master), Vojan (Hadrian's foreman), Demir (healer in the palace), Daxe (Theos' body slave), Petros (Theos' father), Valide (Theos' mother), Pallas/Voris (Asenath's child), Sinan (gladiator and Elvan's childhood friend/frenemy), Ahmet (Emir's childhood bully), Hekate (courtesan and Calyx's mother), Hekate's madam, Kuvvet (captain of the guard), Calvio (one of Elvan's Shadows), Hafiye (Shadow), Casus (Shadow and Hafiye's twin), Katil (Shadow), Namir (gladiator), Taymiir (khagan of Saldırgan), Ruxşet (distant cousin of Theos and potential successor to the throne of Ganimet), Quintus (captain of The Promise before he was overthrown by Khiana and co.), Elvan's mother (the khagan of Atalar), father, and aunt (who essentially raised Elvan and Emir). Just checked my notes and I only forgot Melis (Theos' cousin) and İsyan (another member of Khiana's crew). So I think that's 44, not counting all the other unnamed side characters. 45 if we count Jupiter, who is Amarsin's cat.
How many have been through a lot: all the ones I like lmao. Basically any character that I develop a backstory for has been through a lot, save for those who are purely there to put other characters through a lot (looking at you, Theos and Ruxşet). There are plenty who haven't been through a lot solely because I haven't gotten to them yet. Khiana's whole crew falls into this category; Leyla's the only exception because the rest of them actually started out as side characters in her story (which is almost entirely Leyla Going Through A Lot).
Organization: boy do I! I use Notion for most of my writing stuff (I modified an existing template). I'm gonna explain using screenshots, so you get to see my notes for free :P
The bulk of the actual writing happens in this kanban board:
Tumblr media
Idea dump, as the name would imply, is where I put ideas that I intend to turn into a full scene, chapter, etc. When I don't feel like working on any existing WIPs I usually go to the idea dump column and pick one to start elaborating. Once I've got more than a few sentences, it goes into the in progress column, and that's where it stays the longest. To be honest I rarely actually edit before posting, because otherwise I get caught up in perfectionism, so the editing column is more for pieces that I don't quite love yet and that I know I could improve, but it's not a prerequisite to pass through editing before going to the completed column. Sometimes I'll edit a piece after posting, and sometimes I don't want to post a piece at all, so rather than having a separate column for that I've got it as a checkbox property.
As for individual pieces/cards, this is how I've got it set up:
Tumblr media
Status just indicates which column of the kanban board this piece is in.
The story property currently has five different options, but three main ones: Child of Korsan, Tribes of Atalar, and A Promise of Change. CoK is my main story with Elvan, starting when she goes to Korsan as an adolescent. (Fun fact, when I first came up with the name, the child in question was Tyros, but it has since evolved to metaphorically refer to how Elvan essentially became a new person because of that place.) ToA is everything before that; it covers Elvan and Emir's childhoods (currently the earliest event I've written anything for in ToA is Elvan's birth), but anything set in Atalar before that would go here. APoC is the (currently somewhat secondary) storyline that covers Leyla's life and everything with the pirates; this overlaps with ToA once Emir meets Khiana, and later on overlaps with CoK when Hakan gets arrested. These all fall under Legends of Kainat, my overarching WIP, but separating the storylines makes it much easier to handle parallel plots.
Next up is the year; in universe I'm probably going to have a more localized calendar system (leaning towards a "year x of y's reign" type of system), but I just wanted a way to keep track of timelines for myself so I picked a random event (Elvan and Theos' wedding) and assigned that to year 500 and based everything around that.
Setting and characters are pretty self-explanatory. I actually only have Korsan, Ganimet, and at sea as settings currently since all the ToA scenes I've written are via flashbacks.
These properties in combination are super useful for keeping everything organized. The story property I mostly use just for filtering views, so I can look at just Child of Korsan pieces, for example. Having year (or time period/date/whatever), setting, and characters together is fantastic for avoiding plot holes, especially with multiple storylines that overlap characters, because I can keep track of where each character is at a certain time, so I don't accidentally have a person from one scene showing up in another scene hundreds of miles away without giving them enough time (and narrative cause) for travelling there.
Tumblr media
I have a sticky notes board/page that is just for jotting down individual ideas that may not be formed enough to warrant putting in the idea dump column on the kanban board. This is also where I put a lot of more general worldbuilding ideas/notes that wouldn't have an actual scene associated with them.
Tumblr media
Here I have a timeline page, although I don't use this as much as I probably should. It's a more centralized place to keep the who/what/when/where information. This is also nice because I can filter to a variety of different views, such as only looking at one or two of the stories, only seeing what events a certain character is involved in, or only seeing stuff that happens in a specific location. It's off-screen in the image, but this is also where I've noted down each character's birth as an event. This was actually one of the main reasons I started keeping a timeline; these stories are set over the course of characters' entire lifetimes, and I never had a good sense of how old they were relative to one another. With this I can quickly check the birth year of a given character and compare it to the year a certain event took place to get an idea of their age without needing to root through my character notes.
And on the topic of character notes, I've got some of those too. I use a pretty standard character sheet type of setup here; this is mostly for keeping track of details that I won't necessarily remember but might want to refer back to, as well as keeping track of side characters who I don't spend as much time thinking about. Here's Elvan's character sheet:
Tumblr media
And that's about it! I also have another page for notes about the conlang I'm making for this world, but I'm not going to open that can of worms right now lmao, I have put conlanging into a box on a shelf for now and need to not open it until I finish geographical worldbuilding.

Question for Selahattin: What was the relationship between you all like in the beginning?
Selahattin Paşalı (Osman): They were much better in the beginning. Alina Boz (Eda): Selahattin misses the time when he had an audition. Mert Yazıcıoğlu (Sinan): He was more decent. SP: Absolutely. I was more decent. You all were more decent.  İpek Filiz Yazıcı (Işık): Everything was so pure.
Tumblr media
Question for Selahattin: Do you find yourself handsome? (Lol, look at Mert's face, he loved this question)
Tumblr media
Selahattin: As a compliment, generally people don't say to me handsome, they usually say "you're sweet". (Lol, again Mert's face, he's like waaaat??)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alina: You're charismatic. Selahattin: Thank you. Maybe there are more things you guys want to say...? (lol) Mert: Probably I am the first person saying this, but you're really handsome, brother. Selahattin: Thank you very much. I can say I am at peace with the guy looking back at me in the mirror.
(Omg, such a cute bromance going on here!)

Question for Kubilay (Kerem): Do you talk to each other about the money you earn? Also, did netflix pay you with American dollars?
Selahattin: They paid me with hazelnuts.

3. top 5 books this year?
If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson*, By Light We Knew Our Names by Anne Valente, and Bound by Evelyn DaSilva! And this is cheating but I read way less than usual this year and it’s hard to compile a top 5 because of it, so: I read the short story collections The Refugees by Viet Thanh Nguyen and How Long ‘til Black Future Month? by N.K. Jemisin and my faves from each respectively were I’d Love You To Want Me and The Elevator Dancer.
I’m gonna cheat again and list one manga (Spy x Family, unbelievablyyy satisfying and fun) and some of my favorite works by mutuals also. This year Eve @pinkafropuffs published plenty of fanfics in addition to Bound, but if I had to choose one recent favorite I’d say: May Flowers Bloom Wherever You Wander. Such a spectacular, magical end to a delightful series, everything fell together so so wonderfully 💞🌸 highly recommended reading her fanworks even if you’re not familiar with the fandoms!! Ari @haldimilks published Burnish, Burn, a Heathcliff centric Wuthering Heights story that I think about and revisit often<33 You also don’t necessarily have to read Wuthering Heights before reading it and the website it’s on classifies it as a 10 min read so! you have nothing to lose 👀🔥 Ilika @sheherazade wrote and it went unsaid. a Queen’s Thief one shot that blew me away! Her love for this series is contagious and she perfectly nailed the complicated feelings and sincerity between Gen and Irene imo 👑📚
*It came out this year but I only read the preview chapters, so like barely a fraction of this brick of a book, but like.... it’s the fourth book in the series and I know in my bones I’ll love it and I deliberately didn’t screen myself from 60% of spoilers because I’m so impatient and I’m so so EXCITED to finish it next year uff 🤒🤒 and hopefully do the same with the same author’s new novella, Dawnshard, also.
4. Any new authors you love?
Grady Hendrix (my kind of horror/supernatural thriller! love his ideas and he executes them very well too), Toni Morrison (I could read her prose forever. was legit sad for a bit when I reached the end of TBE)
6. anything you meant to read but never got to?
GQISJWJ so many books.... SO many it’s not even funny! I have this thing about reading a landmark number of books every year because anything else makes my brain itch uncomfortably so I was gonna read 5-10 more books than I did last year (125) and had to bite the bullet and chop it down to 75 books last month...the universe’s way of gently knocking me down a peg and reminding me the one thing I can never be is consistent 😌 (I’m kidding) anyway I complied a list of books I DEFINITELY plan to tackle come 2021 and a lot of it is compromised of books I had planned to read and/or started this year! Like The Count Of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, The House at Baker Street by Michelle Birkby, Bending the Willow: Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes by David Stuart Davies, The Book of Collateral Damage by Sinan Antoon, Thorn by Intisar Khanani, The Professor and Vilette by Charlotte Brontë, and The Bear and The Nightingale by Katherine Arden. (So mostly a bunch of Sherlock Holmes adjacent stuff and fairytale retellings.... mecore as hell 🤭)
11. favorite not newly published book?
If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin hands down but also most of Sherlock Holmes in general. Some of my top favorites of what I’ve read so far are: A Study in Scarlet, A Scandal in Bohemia, The Beryl Coronet, The Speckled Band, The Norwood Builder, A Case of Identity, The Adventure of the Copper Beeches, and The Adventure of the Gloria Scott.
13. least favorite books of the year?
Mexican Gothic by Silvia-Moreno Garcia (I was SO excited for this one! it just felt unpolished in terms of plot direction and I questioned a lot of the writing choices... it’s title is basically just a concept and that’s what the book felt like and it unfortunately wasn’t satisfying), The Door in the Hedge by Robin McKinley (short story collection and McKinley’s works in general are hit or miss for me and this was a collection of misses 🤕 too much description and not enough plot or substance in these particular retellings that were played too straight, like no twists or changes leapt out at or hooked me), And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (I went into it knowing the original title and more about Christie in general than I wished to, but even without that... I just did not feel for any of the characters and was relieved every time one of them finally bit the dust), A Woman is no Man by Etaf Rum (don’t get me started.... I’ll just say I’m unfortunately aware of why non-Muslims ate this one up and I don’t like it. Tragedy p*rn and not even of the author’s own experiences. Reinforces too many stereotypes and is not a story about Muslims I think American/Western/whatever readers need to be exposed to rn.)
17. surprised by how good they were:
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante (that end!! Very excited to see how the main characters’ lines progress in the next few books), The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix (this was SUPPOSED to be a popcorn read but I got SO invested it was magical), Pachinko by Min Jin Lee (one of those meandering books that follows generation after generation, dull at times but ultimately I liked the level of detail every other character got like? The author clearly knew what she was talking about and I enjoyed the overall picture she painted of the time periods the book takes place in. The duller parts were necessary and worth it), When The Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka (I just loved the prose of this one and how quick a read it was. None of the main characters had names either which intrigued me a ton and worked in the story’s favor)
23. fastest time it took to read a book?
Mm. The audiobook to The Yellow Wallpaper was like 45(?) min long GWHSHWH I also read Dostoyevsky’s short story A Novel in Nine Letters, which was short and snappy, and I’m also in the middle of reading An Honest Thief and Other Stories, also by him, which I probs won’t finish till next year but the first story was also easy breezy. I’ve mostly read short stories in 1-2 sittings this year, to keep me sane in between homework and freaking out, so I could go on but those stick out to me!

Are you a truthful one?
A lot of us has lost the value of honesty and truthfulness in this generation. Nowadays, it is sad that the word of almost every Muslim cannot be trusted unless there is proof or evidence or someone else to vouch for justifying it - may it be in a transaction or business dealing or even just with telling or advising someone in the family.
No one takes the word of a child. No one takes the word of a person from a different background than theirs as they always think there is something behind everyone else's ethnic race - forgetting that we all share one connection which is Islam - a bond stronger than blood.
Today, I address this issue with a story that will fascinate you in a way that will change your perspective not only with others but on yourself as well, that is, if you let this story speak through your heart. _______
If we study the Qur'an, we will know that there are specific surah or verses that were revealed because of someone, a situation or other known reasons such as a ruling or reminder for everyone who believes in Allah.
The one I am sharing today is that of the surah Al Munafiqun. A lot of you might have read and even memorized this short surah, but not everyone must have known why it was revealed.
Surah Al Munafiqun is a Madani surah, which scholars of the Qur'an say that it is a surah revealed after the hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam).
Before the revelation of this surah, an incident took place within the army of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) as they are heading back to Madinah.
A man from the Muhajirun, Jarjah/Jehjah Ibn Mas’ud Ghifari RA, (the ones who migrated from Makkah) had a dispute with a man from the Ansar, Sinan Ibn Wabar Al Juhani RA, (the people from Madinah) - and this dispute rapidly escalated that it gathered and split the Muslims into two factions (the Muhajirun and the Ansar).
Hence, Abdullah Ibn Ubayy (the one they call the father of the Munafiqun and the chief of the Khazraj tribe) gathered the Ansar while the Prophet Muhammad (Salallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) gathered the Muhajirun.
The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) spoke to the Muhajirun telling them to let go of this little dispute and that they are all brothers in Islam so they should not fight amongst each other.
Meanwhile, at the other corner - Abdullah Ibn Ubayy started to poison the minds of the Ansar by giving a very vicious speech regarding how the Muhajirun disrespect them despite them giving them help and sharing their livelihood and wealth with them. He was trying to turn the hearts of the Ansar away from their brothers. Amidst this hostile ambiance, there was an 11-year-old boy named Zaid Ibn Arqam RA.
Zaid Ibn Arqam then went to his uncle who was with the Muhajirun and told his uncle about this speech of Abdullah Ibn Ubayy. So his uncle informed the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam), and after speaking with his companions, he called out for Abdullah Ibn Ubayy to ask him regarding this.
Abdullah Ibn Ubayy came with some of his people, and when the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) asked him of his speech, he started to defend himself at the top of his lungs. He was arguing as to whom said such lies about him and that why would the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) take a word of a young boy against his word. He blabbered and blabbered while swearing and making oaths that he didn't say such things.
In the end, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) didn't argue back to Abdullah and just asked him to go.
Now, to make it clear for you, when all of these happened - Zaid was outside the tent - so he did not witness what was happening nor did he hear anything. So when Abdullah went out of the tent without being reprimanded or such, Zaid felt very bad thinking that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) did not believe him for he was just a mere child. Hence, he silently went back to his tent and curled up crying.
After this, Surah Al Munafiqun was revealed. So the first thing that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) did was to call for Zaid Ibn Arqam.
When Zaid came, He (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) sat in front of him, laid his hands on his laps (just how a father would comfort his child), and started reciting Surah Al Munafiqun to Zaid. So yes, it was Zaid Ibn Arqam who first heard this surah before anyone else.
After that, the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam) said to Zaid that Allah revealed a surah to prove that you are telling the truth. Subhan'Allah! Imagine, Allah being your witness! It is said that one of the reasons this surah was revealed was to comfort the sentiments of a young slave of Allah who was Zaid Ibn Arqam!
My brothers and sisters in Islam, doesn't this tell you how Allah hears and knows everything and how he is there for all of us! Allah even quoted the same words of Zaid Ibn Arqam in this surah. Look at how Allah honors His truthful slaves and look at how he humiliates those who turn people away from Islam!
Imagine this honor that was given to Zaid! Imagine every Muslim who reads the Qur'an also testifies to the truthfulness that this young boy embodied. What an honor it is to be amongst the truthful ones!
Subhan'Allah. _____
My dear brothers and sisters, we should learn significantly from this beautiful story of Zaid Ibn Arqam. Honor comes from Allah, so be sure to honor Allah with being truthful as well!
Be careful of your words; be keen on using them. Work on your character so much that when you speak, people will believe you in an instant because of your personality and because you are a Muslim!
This story is a reminder for all of us that Muslims should take care of their words and that we should always stay truthful in everything that we do, not because of people but because Allah always hears and knows everything! So Fear Allah, and be constant in your remembrance of Him! ______
May Allah keep us all steadfast in the deen and continue to guide and bless us and make us amongst the truthful ones! Amin
Zohayma ______

P.S. If you want to learn more about this great surah, discuss it with your Qur'an teacher and learn its tafseer as well. in sha Allah.

FURKAN ANDIÇ BEMAN MAGAZINE (OCTOBER 2017) INTERVIEW TRANSLATION
You are on our screens with a very different role in Kanal D’s TV series “Meryem”. How is it going?
We’re very busy, to be honest. Just like every work in this sector, we film the episodes within a very limited time, which requires working at quite a busy pace. But I can say that, for us actors, the most important criteria of satisfaction is the quality of the final product. Because the feeling of satisfaction we get as a result of the effort we put in is indescribable. Then you think that it is worth the effort. What we do in Meryem really satisfies me, which in turn motivates me to keep up with this busy schedule.
Do you understand the situation Savaş is in? Do you communicate with the characters you play?
Before building a relationship with the characters I play, I create them. In this way, I know everything about the characters I play in the light of all the knowledge I have gained through my acting experiences so far. We form an opinion (about the character) with the help of the information in the script and character analysis. After that, you ask whatever questions you wish about that character into the space and help that character have a physical form, be something living. It may be a traumatic reflex from his past, or the reactions he gives to different emotions. Then, with our directors, we try to create the character by making all the connections  between the total of these and his past given in the script.
Savaş’s situation is really interesing. Life has wounded him from somewhere other than daily problems such as money, love or work. He is a man who lost his mother at an early age and had to grow up separate from his house because of the conflicts he had with his father. And this has always made him emotionally incomplete. After he loses his fiancée who was filling this void and helping him hold onto life in an accident, everything becomes even more difficult for Savaş. The void created in his life after Sevinç’s death pushes him to avenge his emotional breakdown and to start a search of the criminal.
Can you control your anger? What makes you angry the most?
Anger is a very interesting emotion. A very natural, humane reaction when someone is assaulted or deprived of something. To be honest, I used to have a quick temper and show my anger to the other person. But as I got more mature, I have come to realize how tired the other person becomes as a result of such reactions. So in recent years, I can control my anger pretty well. I don’t make an extra effort for this either. What makes me angry the most is when someone takes me for a fool. We people are social beings; we have a tendency to live together in a community. And communication is the most valuable social tool we use to understand each other. We can resolve everything through communication, but the fact that people try to fool others is, in my opinion, like fraud. Because I think like this, I can say that I dislike when people take me for a fool.
You’ve had your first movie experience with “Damat Takımı”. It is going to be in theaters soon, are you excited?
Damat Takımı is very valuable to me. First of all, the script was good and I felt that the friendship of the characters was very similar to the friendship I have with my friends. This is very valuable. Secondly, both my Volkswagen Beetle car and my best friend and manager have minor roles in it, which I believe will bring good luck. And most importantly, Damat Takımı is my first movie.
I had always filmed TV series before this and was very picky about movies, and this had both advantages and disadvantages. Its bright side is that my first movie is like how I imagined. Such a movie that I will keep a copy throughout my life and watch it proudly whenever I wish. The downside is that I met the magical world of cinema late. Cinema is a very different field from TV. Since we don’t have time problem, every scene can be structured more finely, both by the actor and the director. The beginning and the end (of the script) is there, so you can build the character in more detail. And this made me feel as free as I had never felt before, which in turn was reflected directly in my acting. I am going to watch it for the first time on October 16th in the premiere, to be honest. So I can say that I’m very excited. I hope people who take time and watch it enjoy themselves too.
Is there a specific movie genre or character that you want to play in the future?
I want to work in projects that have good scripts and well-written characters that I believe I can portray well. And of course, I want to do all of these with an innovative team. In other words, like everything else, cinema changes rapidly so I want to work in projects that I think will catch up with this speed.
Frankly speaking, rather than being an actor limited to one genre, I want to play characters with diverse emotions and motivations, so I want to be not only in romantic comedies but also in different categories of movies such as drama, horror and action. I think, as an actor, my job is to wear the shoes of the character I will play and present the paths he walks and the choices he makes to the viewers.
Have you learnt anything from the characters you play?
The script’s uniqueness, the actor’s imagination and curiousity altogether can make the actor feel intense and real feelings that he’s never experienced before. The actor can even collect memories, so to speak, while experiencing those feelings. I learnt  a lot of things from each of the characters I created. And I believe that made me a more mature person in life. Having different experiences and adding something to yourself while playing different characters are great opportunities for actors.
Among the countries you traveled to, where did you feel like you belonged?
Bali, Indonesia. The attractive disorderliness of the location... A lot of people travel from Europe to Bali. And many people who come bring along their cultures. But, on the other hand, the local people preserve their own religious beliefs and cultural values and this kind of creates a very orderly disorderliness in the island. The island’s unique and attractive natural beauties also made me feel like I belonged there. Beside this fascination, I can say that Bali is an ideal place for me considering my personality. I’m a person of warm climates. I like water and water sports. I like to observe different cultures and talk to people from those cultures. I can communicate with them easily and learn something from them. The local people in Bali also have the same sentiments and motivation toward the foreigners. This is why I love that place.
Have you ever had to break up with someone? If it’s not very personal, why?
Breaking up with someone is something dramatic for me, and I may have never told someone to break up in my life. But I may have played a significant part in the ending of some of my relationships, because at the end of the day, breaking up is a destruction. At work or in friendships, it is the end of a relationship in its general sense. We can say that it is destruction for both sides. That’s why I prefer keeping this destruction at minimum. Even if I’m the one destroying it, I try not to hurt the other person. That’s why I don’t want to say that I’ve broken up with someone. I probably managed to explain myself and my reasons, so I can’t give you any examples since I haven’t broken up with anyone.
When did you suffer because of love for the first time; are you in love right now?
I was 11 in 5th grade, and it was because I couldn’t confess to her. It was a very painful feeling. Loving someone romantically isn’t something we experience every day. That’s why we definitely have to protect our love. We may often be afraid to confess it to the other person, but I believe that nothing that may happen when we share our feelings can be worse than not sharing them at all. Nowadays, I’m not in love with anyone. You never know what future will bring but I can say that there’s no time for it in this tempo of my life.
Do you get help when you shop?
Yes. I make sure to ask the opinion of the person with me.
Is there anything that makes you say “I don’t want to die before I do it”?
I don’t want to die before filming a full-length movie that I’ve written. I hope I will have the chance to do it.
What is the book that had the biggest impact on you?
“Aşkın Gözyaşları” (Tears of Love) by Sinan Yağmur. Shams Tabrizi and Mevlana are two figures whose wisdom was admired not only during their days but even today. In the book, we see both their divine love and eternal values like loyalty, dedication, belief and reality. I also think that the book doesn’t take any sides and everyone can find sincere values about life in it.
Have you ever had a moment when you thought you grew mature?
Toward the end of 2000s, after high school, I went to Kiev, Ukraine. Going there made a big difference in my maturity level. Life was too difficult there. It wasn’t like a normal university life. I can say that it was more like a “fight for survival”. There was a huge difference between the living standards I had before I went to Kiev and after I went to Kiev. It taught me to live with less and to create something out of nothing. What made me mature was that I normalized the process and moved on with my life. I learnt a lot. It may also be because I was at an age when my personality was being set. So, in short, the time when I believe I grew mature was when I returned from Kiev.
Is there an attire that you wear all the time? What kind of style do you have?
My black and white t-shirts. As a style, I like getting dressed casually. Wearing simple and plain clothes is an aesthetic appearance, in my opinion. That’s why I don’t prefer very complicated pieces of clothing. Comfortable pants and a plain t-shirt can make me feel good. That’s when I think what I wear looks good on me. Also, I think what we call a style is the choices that make one feel good.
Who do you look up to the most in life?
I actually look up to a lot of people. Artists, athletes, scientists... I look up to every person who makes efforts to add value to the world rather than to achieve something when they are alive. I can say Keanu Reeves, for example. His humility, helpfulness and spiritual world is really admirable. He’s someone who weighs his work only in terms of the value it adds to the world. I believe that he has a focus like “How can the world become a better place with my performance or the money I earn?”. I think that his tragic background didn’t stop him from achieving his goal but even helped him have this vision. This is a level of patience and calmness that I can look up to greatly.
Why did you choose martial arts?
I did sports throughout my life. I was interested in many sports, particularly basketball. But they were all team sports. I learned different kinds of disciplines and skills, of course. But in this tempo of my life now, it’s really hard to form a team and dedicate myself to the team. So I started doing individual performance sports. The reason why I’ve chosen martial arts is the adrenaline and philosophy. You have different kinds of experiences due to adrenaline hormone. It teaches you to think reactively, know the opponent within a short time, foresee what’s coming, weigh the defense and attack at the same time and most importantly, to focus on that moment independently from everything else. They also have humble philosophies like respecting the opponent, preserving the body’s agility, not hurting the opponent, using intelligence more than excitement and achieving a mental tranquility. This is why I’m interested in martial arts.
Do you have a weakness for anything?
I can actually say that I have a weakness for fun. I noticed this through the observations of the people close to me. Like everyone else, I try to be with the people I love and spend fun time with them while enjoying life. And I can sometimes lose the track of time while doing it. Making the most of now is, in my opinion, life itself. So I may be trying to keep that fun time longer.
What does acting mean to you?
An achieved goal. But after achieving this goal, I’ve realized that it is a very deep and long journey. I know I still have a very long road ahead; it makes me very excited. In some scenes, actors can get too immersed in the depth of a moment. We may experience very exciting feelings in such moments. It is like you are given the chance to live a moment of someone else’s life in your own life. If an actor has really tasted this, he will probably want to collect such moments during the rest of his life as much as he can.
Are you happy with where you are?
Yes. I’m at a point where I feel I’m very open to learning. It had never been so fun to learn something. I’m satisfied with the point I have arrived by improving myself in my work life too.
Our motto is “BeStyle”. What’s yours?
“Know yourself.”

best movies about 2019
The Wild Pear Tree
Chief: Nuri Bilge Ceylan
A fundamental information of present day Turkey does not block an interest in the winding, once in a while mysterious The Wild Pear Tree—indeed, an absence of setting may help the film's occasionally heavy pace. When we meet school graduate Sinan (Aydin Dogu Demirkol), he's returned home with minimal expenditure, with the original copy for his first book and with even to a lesser extent an arrangement for a mind-blowing remainder, but to put off his required military administration for whatever length of time that he can to consider his to be not kidding fill in as an author distributed. Difficult and angry of the place where he grew up, Sinan still puts stock in his thin gathering of words (which bears a similar title as Ceylan's film) regardless of whether it works as a kind of powerful diary of his time growing up and, as indicated by a nearby legislator, bears no organic product, no reasonable use as a travel industry help or bit of political purposeful publicity to legitimize government endowments.
GoMovies Land Website
He could independently publish, yet what sort of essayist needs to stoop to such insult; like Albert Camus' hero in The Stranger—the writer's image hanging in Sinan's youth room—our hero holds an absurd inconvenience for the exigencies of post-university Turkish life, a grouch frame of mind toward his general surroundings that shows in philosophical contentions continually appearing on the incline of savagery. At that point there's Sinan's dad, Idris (Murat Cemcir), a previous educator and disfavored betting fiend who demands renewing his family's homestead by burrowing a well that everybody except Idris accepts to be a strangely vain task. Sinan despises his dad a large portion of all, and in that well observes his dad's regard and instruction and aspiration squandered, sunk underneath the man's powerlessness to beat his present circumstance. But then, as Sinan meanders around town, having drinks with Imams and creators and old companions, discussing everything from religion, to governmental issues, to sentiment, his discussions push him inflexibly back to that ranch, his family's disgrace, to that waterless well and his dad's unending arrangement of disappointments. Piercing and discreetly transportive, The Wild Pear Tree envisions a world wherein everybody must come to clashing terms with the existence they lead not satisfying the existence they needed. Were you not told else, you could confuse it with your own.
Under the Silver Lake
Chief: David Robert Mitchell
There are red herrings, unkempt structures and plot strings that go no place in David Robert Mitchell's semi loafer noir Under the Silver Lake—its "inadequacies," as far as traditional taste, don't generally make a difference. Or maybe, similar to the best thick "secrets," Under the Silver Lake comprehends the main thing most: pushing its crowd into according to the hero. For this situation, that is old-film and vintage-game-baffled Sam (Andrew Garfield), who lurches into a mission to both locate the hot neighbor (Riley Keough) with whom he's beguiled and uncover a connivance that hides underneath the aggregate of LA. Mitchell pulls us by the hand down a hare opening of Sam's creation.
Most odd about the followup to the chief's basic hit It Follows is that it pushes the limits between being significantly idiotic and amazingly intense. It is substance to pursue the rationale of somebody exceptionally stoned (maybe considerably more distant than something like Inherent Vice), where ways in the labyrinth end suddenly, tantalizingly prodding, yet Mitchell likewise appears to know the most peculiar pieces of Hollywood and its spell-like inheritance, making each progression in Sam's odyssey clear and (inside) consistent. As we're dove further into the weed-bound personality of its at any point broke lead and his juvenile frame of mind towards ladies and social articles (and ladies as social items), Under the Silver Lake uncovers itself to be a film about the manners by which wistfulness debases the present and spoils viewpoint

Interview with yamisi(Yasemin Karabulut)
Yasemin Karabulut ( yamisi )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Artist should earn more, should see more, should drink more, should taste more, so that she/he can make you see everything differently."
It was very interesting for us to communicate with Yasemin, because she is a representative of another mentality and a different educational system, a different approach to creativity. We hope that this interview will be useful to you and show a different attitude to creativity and learning. Enjoy reading!
-What is you name? where do you live and do you have an art education? Are you satisfied with the knowledge you gained during your studies?
-My full name is Yasemin Karabulut, i live in Istanbul, Turkey. I have studied architecture in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (msgsü) in Istanbul , i have studied master in Bauhaus University - Germany, about advanced architectural design. I didnt have an education about art but my school is known about its artistic approach. My art does cover my expenses, but on average.
I was satisfied of my education in Istanbul, before i saw education in Germany.
-Why did the collage serve you as the most appropriate means to express ideas?
- Choosing collage was not a decision for me, it developed itself naturally. Sonwe can say collage or mixed media art has choosen me, rather than i choose.Collage is a very interesting discipline which gives you so many free space and inspiration. Its a desire actually. You can create so many different compositions & feelings with different materials.
-Do you have a hobby besides creative activity?
-Photography is my most dominant hobby i can say. I am using my own photos to create my collages sometimes. Travelling is also a passion for me. And i am reflecting my dreams on my own photos in my collages.
-Do you agree with the fact that the artist should not sleep at night and create and as they say in Russia, “the artist must be hungry”?
-I dont agree with the understanding that artists should suffer.
Artist is someone, who is already suffering, but doesnt need any additional bad conditions. Like being poor, not earning money.
This pain is something you’ ll have forever, and if also bad conditions add to this, this kills the artists. Im thinking the opposite way. Artist should earn more, should see more, should drink more, should taste more, so that she/he can make you see everything differently.
-The most difficult thing in your profession, in your opinion?
-The most difficult thing i had in my art adventure is being have to work in some jobs that you dont feel yourself belonging there. But sometimes all artists have to do this to survive. And you have a passion to keep on doing. Its like your child, you should earn and take care of it.
-What do you think about academic drawing school?
In the countries of the former Soviet Union, mainly artists and students inherit traditional techniques of painting and drawing, there are a lot of universities and colleges that teach this.
In these countries, there is modern art, but basically only the traditional school. Modern art is not worth the advantage, but the new generation of young people is trying to bring it to the masses.
-I think traditional art education should always be there as the way it is. If you prefer to be a modern artist, you are free to choose a different way. But traditional education is like a structural coloumn, and if it collapses all the construction falls down. I like watching perfect, traditional artists paintings - sculptures. Russia has of course a perfect culture in painting as in every art discipline.
-Tell me, you participated in competitions, what do you think about it, and what would you recommend to other artists?
-I dont believe in competitions, i have a belief that in such organisations, the winner wins mostly before competition 😊 art can not be competed. Art is something like a dust, flowing in the air. Its a very breakable and naiv thing. But i agree that it gives you more chances for more opportunities but not always the best opportunities. -Just can not ask about the money side. Does your creativity cover your expenses?
-My art does cover my expenses, but on average.

All the Turkish shows I may watch this Fall
Since the new season for Turkish shows started, here is the list of all the shows I will watch/may watch (* means currently will watch but may change if I don’t like what I see.)
WILL WATCH
Bir Deli Rüzgar* - I love Berk Cancat and the whole singer’s rise to fame in 1970s is catnip. Plus, loved the lading lady in Vatanim Sensin.
Bir Zamanla Cucurova* - loose remake of Days of Heaven apparently with some truly gorgeous people and set in the 1970s. What’s not to love?
Cukur - MY BABY!!!!! Or as Cumali would say, “bebe!” I normally do not go for testosterone-heavy mob stories, yet I am breathlessly hanging on for a second season. Tight writing, great acting, characters I love, a ton of manpain and also a delicious angsty ship or two. This is as close to perfect as it gets.
Erkenci Kus - I am on ep 5 and this has almost no plot and is totally turn your brain off territory, but it’s so charming and Can Yaman is so hot, I am too weak to resist.
Sen Anlat Karadeniz - it was neck and neck with Cukur last year as my favorite show (it changed depending on the ep) and I cannot wait to watch more of Nefes healing, Tahir protecting her from her abuser and just general awesomeness.
Yasak Elma - I need something fluffy and fun in my drama-filled world. This is also a good choice since I only care for one storyline and skip through the rest which means very little time investment.
The new one with Kivanc Tatlitug - I don’t know what it’s about, or who else is in it, and I don’t care. Like with Beren Saat, Aras Bulut Iynemli and Engin Akyurek, everything with Kivanc is an auto watch for me.
MAY WATCH
Bizim Hikaye - I liked the first season but a lot of it is taken by the annoying father and other “comic” bits. Plus, Filiz can’t catch a break, poor heroine. I guess it I had more time...as for now it’s a maybe.
Elimi Birakma - remake of Brilliant Legacy and I am curious to see Sinan from Fazilet as a lead but i’ve heard mixed things about it at best.
Gulperi - I like Nurgul Yesilcay and the writing team is solid but struggles of middle-aged mom of adult children is not truly my bag and leading man does nothing for me. We shall see...
Istanbullu Gelin - this one will never die and the little bits I’ve seen look fun, but where is the time!
Nefes Nefese - I liked the first few eps but there are only so many hours in the day and this one may get cancelled/story is not necessarily going in direction I want.
Soz - I promised I was out after they fridged hero’s second girlfriend in a row (!!!!) but find myself tempted, especially since my fave OTP, commando x lady spy, is still there.
Ufak Tefek Cinayetler - lots of people whose taste I trust like it but I know zip about it.
Yasamayanlar - Kerem Bursin as a vampire mmmmmmm! OTOH I’ve heard it’s awful.

AN INTRODUCTION TO HADITH : Amr Bi-Ma’ruf wa An-Nahy An Al-Munkar (Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil)
He passed away in the seventy- fourth year after the Emigration, at eighty-one years of age.
EXPLANATION
Ma’ruf denotes a thing accepted as good in Islam and encompasses everything in the sphere of obedience to Allah. On the contrary, Munkar are those things not approved of in Islam and deemed to be transgression against Allah.
“The hypocrites, both men and women, are all of a kind: enjoining and promoting what is evil and forbidding and trying to prevent what is right and good…” (at-Tawbah 9:67).
However, the qualities of the believers in this regard are described thus:
“The believers, both men and women, they are guardians, confidants, and helpers of one another. They enjoin and promote what is right and good and forbid and try to prevent the evil…” (at-Tawbah 9:71).
Is the duty of enjoining the good and preventing the evil merely the duty of a community established solely for this task? Don’t human beings hold individual responsibilities in this regard? The obligation of promoting the good and trying to prevent the evil is common to all believers.
Allah revealed for display the palace of the universe for precisely this reason and again charged the human being therein with this mission.

† Biography
tw: gun violence, sibling death, criminal activity, acts of dubious dominance
They had the same gold-flaked hazel eyes and crown of unruly black curls. Their voices carried the same warm timbre, and when they laughed, the dimples that appeared in the center of their cheeks were mirror images of one another’s. They were identical, the two Demirci boys, in all ways but one: Sinan was born Dominant, just as every boy before him with Demirci blood in their veins had been. Ihsan, however, from the moment his lungs drew in his first wailing breath, was destined to disappoint: he was the very first son in countless generations to be submissive.
In most families, that fact would mean little, and the contrast between the brothers would be a small thing; as arbitrary as one boy preferring salty over sweet. But to the Demircis, who clung white-knuckled to archaic traditionalism, this miniscule difference between them was damning. Because of it, Sinan was preferred in all things, and no effort was made to hide this from Ihsan, who watched from the sidelines wondering what it was he’d done wrong. Sinan was kept close at their father’s side, the beloved heir apparent; wanting for nothing and learning everything he would need to know to one day take the helm of their family’s business. Ihsan was an afterthought; an unacknowledged fixture at the dinner table who knew better than to ask for anything more than what was given to him, for fear of the heavy handed repercussions.
Time toiled on this way, the chasm between brothers growing wider and wider apart with every turn around the sun, until they were hardly more than strangers wearing the same face. While Sinan continued to thrive as the crown prince to the Demirci’s international empire of illicit business, Ihsan’s father did eventually manage to find a use for him. Like a box of pastries sitting in the center of a conference table, Ihsan became a commodity, something frivolous and sweet to be offered to those who joined them. For scenes or service, all chosen for him by his father, whom Ihsan found himself too paralyzed to deny.
The routine of playing the role of his father’s party favor went on for years, and somehow Ihsan managed to find some tether of peace within it. It came to him naturally, as if he were divinely made to move beneath the domination of another, and he found that when he allowed himself to freely submit himself to them, he was rewarded with an electric trickle of euphoria down his spine, a warm coiling in the center of his stomach telling him that everything was going to be okay. More than that, though, it came with it the flickering hope that maybe a claim would one day come for him of it all, and this could all be put behind him.
That hope was dashed, however, the day that Sinan was killed.
He learned what had happened from his father, in the only instance he could recall being summoned to his office alone: a deal had gone wrong, and ended in a fatal shooting that took his brother’s life in an instant. Without being given a moment to even properly process what he was being told, to take his first breath knowing that his twin no longer could, his father got straight to the point — time was of the essence. He had been kept so distant from the inner workings of the family business for all of this life, that hearing for the first time the complexities of the house of cards that was the realm of underground politics was dizzying. Though, despite being overwhelmed and utterly torn open with grief from the loss of his brother, the bottom line of what his father explained was clear: Sinan had died, but it was Ihsan who had always been the expendable one.
The only problem was his father wasn’t about to hand over the family’s legacy to his submissive son. Industry rivals would see it as a weakness and would go for their throats. The only way for this to work, for the illusion of Sinan to live for the sake of the family’s future, was for Ihsan to take his twin’s upcoming place at the Lowell Academy on one of it’s exclusive scholarships. By graduating from their Dominant program as Sinan had intended, he would ensure everything stayed on course as if his brother were still living. And maybe, just maybe, he could prove that he was worth something to his father after all.
» Synopsis. The Demirci family is from Ankara, Turkey. When the boys were sixteen the family all moved to Chicago to manage the expansion of their business. Ihsan fluently speaks Turkish, Arabic, and English with a heavy accent. Ihsan regularly performed better than Sinan in school and excelled in math and science. Had he not taken his twin’s place at Lowell University, he would have continued his studies in Astronomy. Ihsan has always had a touch of insomnia, and actually prefers the darkest hours of the night. Stay up late enough and it’s likely you’ll catch him wandering from the Hargrave House with his telescope and a blanket, stargazing until sunrise.
Secrets and Motives:
secret one: Ihsan has assumed his deceased brother’s identity and taken his place in the Dominant program at Lowell Academy.
secret two: Ihsan relies very heavily on suppressants to get through the day & is beginning to develop symptoms of submission sickness.
motive one: Ihsan needs to complete the Dominant curriculum without his secret getting out to (hopefully) secure his place within his family and avoid the likely dire repercussions of his father should he fail.
motive two: Ultimately what Ihsan truly wants is quite simple, though he has no idea how it would still be possible. All he wishes for is to be claimed by someone who really sees him, who makes him feel valued and good enough just as he is, and to have nothing to do with his family’s business, to live an honest life away forged only by himself and his partner.
