ATTN: Just popping by to say that if you are purchasing the new kits today - particularly the Urban Homage kit - be sure to use the creator code "EBONIX" at checkout!

Collab creators do not make any percentage of the revenue after release, they're just paid a flat rate up front, so if you want a little of the proceeds to go to the creator, use code "EBONIX" at checkout (it costs you nothing!!!). Also worth noting that because they had some issues with codes in the app today, creators will apparently receive 10% commission instead of 5% commission the next 48 hrs. Basically my guys, every mod that touches your user interface (UI) will break your game after an update/pack release. There are exceptions (both ui mods that wont break and other mods that WILL break) but EVERY TIME YOUR GAME BREAKS AFTER AN UPDATE, TAKE YOUR SCRIPT MODS OUT AND CHECK IT AGAIN. 90% that it will be it

Unfortunately, I have not been able to recover my Sims 4 save files.

I did however, figure out that this is actually a bug that has been happening to quite a few people as well after one of the more recent Sims 4 updates.

And I so conveniently had to download an update when I was going in to take pictures of my Pleasant family build.

I wonder why all of my saves got deleted.

I am very angry with this, I had a lot of hard work put into my saves over the past 8 years and I had only ever heard of corrupted save files.

I guess I got the short end of the stick and was affected by this glitch instead of the corruption.

Thank you all for being patient with me, and please spread this message to everyone you know that plays The Sims 4 and has had something similar happen to them.

I wish you all the best with your save files, and please remember...

Do not update your game and risk your save files being deleted.

Welp... remember when they "fixed" the jewelry genetics bug?

New bug just dropped, unfortunately. Same exact problem, but now it happens when your sims use the "Keep style" feature on the styling chair from Get Famous. 🤦‍♀️

Here's the comparison photos from both tweets: before shots on the left and after shots on the right.

Just a PSA, you might want to avoid using the "keep style" function on the styling chairs for a little while. If you have the same issue, be sure to upvote/interact with the thread on EA Answers HQ.

Game bugs and broken sims

Please, for the love of the watcher (i.e. you), back up your saves and be very careful playing right now.

There are game bugs that WILL break your sims and/or your saves. For example, the one that removes certain buffs when you exit the game. That doesn't sound too bad, does it?

Until you realize that a buff being removed in the wrong way breaks what is supposed to happen when it is removed. A LOT of buffs, both visible and invisible, have a thing that happens when they're removed properly by the game. When they just disappear, that doesn't happen.

Ignoring mod issues, this affects buffs from the game itself. There are over 500 of these in the game. Lumpinou does a good job of listing a few of them here https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-Moodlets-disappear-from-sims-upon-loading-a-save/m-p/13535376/highlight/true#M272788

That's also ignoring the storytelling aspects. One person in that thread had grandpa die, and when they reopened their game, no one cared. They had forgotten that they were supposed to be mourning anyone.

I'm playing, but I'm also prepared to clone my sims in CAS at any point if they break, and I'm not touching my historical save, which is even more family and gameplay oriented. Not that being non-family or gameplay oriented will save my sims, but if someone dies, I expect them to mourn. And this is probably why Jupiter didn't mourn his mother when she died.
