New Scholarships by Twinsimming 🎓

"Need some extra simoleons for university? Sims University now offers a variety of scholarships for prospective students!"

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

Applying for Scholarships

Teen sims and older have a new “Apply for Scholarships” interaction available at the school rabbithole or on the computer under “Sims University Online”. Though they’re less likely to win a scholarship if they apply online rather than in person.

If your sim wins a scholarship, they will not be able to reapply for that scholarship again. If they do not win, they will be given a Disappointed moodlet and have to wait a day before applying again.

Types of Scholarships

There are four (4) types of scholarships your sims can apply for: General, Legacy, Skill Based, and Occult. In total, there are 18 scholarships, each with their own custom moodlet.

Sims have a 45% chance of winning a scholarship in the General, Legacy, and Occult categories when applying in-person and a 40% chance when applying online.

Sims have a 6% chance of winning a Skill Based scholarship at Level 1 of the required skill. This chance multiplies with each skill level, with a maximum of a 60% chance at Level 10.

Certain traits can either increase or decrease your chance of winning a scholarship by 5% (note: this value stacks the more traits your sim has):

Increased Chance Traits - Lucky and Ambitious

Decreased Chance Traits - Unlucky and Loser

Some of the scholarship names are originally from The Sims 2 and the others I made up myself. They are listed below by category:

General

Young Entrepreneurs Award (§750) - Requires Level 3 part-time job, Teen only

Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund (§750) - Requires deceased or non-existing parents, Teen only

Golden Year Scholars Grant (§1000) - Elders only

Gemini Hidden Masters Prize (§1500) - Requires Level 10 in one hidden skill

Legacy

Student Service Workers Fund (§1000) - For sims with a service worker hidden trait (Makes No Messes, Pyromaniac, Can Apprehend Burglar, Can Salute, Immune To Fire, or Pizza Appreciator)

Cultural Exchange Program (§1000) - For sims with one of the hidden culture traits from The Sims 3: World Adventures

Students of Tomorrow Scholarship (§1000) - For sims with the hidden Future Sim trait from The Sims 3: Into the Future

Skill Based

Dreamer Family Artisan Award (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Artisan Skill

Tsang Footwork Award (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Dance (Store) Skill

Violin Society of SimNation Scholarship (§750) - Requires at least Level 1 Violin Skill

Occult

Undead Education Scholarship (§1500) - For Vampires, Zombies, and Ghosts

Extraterrestrial Reparation Grant (§1500) - For Aliens and sims recently abducted by Aliens

Spellcasting Scholars Grant (§1500) - For Witches, Fairies, and Genies

Lycanthropy Philanthropy Fund (§1500) - For Werewolves

Bots Opportunity To Specialize (B.O.T.S.) (§1500) - For Simbosts and Plumbots

Forbidden Fruit Fellowship (§1500) - For PlantSims

Real World Acclimation Fund (§1500) - For Real Imaginary Friends

Aquatic Allies Award (§1500) - For Mermaids

Maintaining Scholarships

After winning a scholarship, your sim will get the new custom Won Scholarship moodlet. They have a week to either enroll in online university with my Attend University Online mod, or in-person university to remain eligible for their scholarship.

If they fail to enroll in time, their scholarship will be rescinded and they will have to pay back the money they were awarded. If they can’t afford to pay back the scholarship amount in full, it will be added to their next household bill. (No free money here!)

Once a sim has a scholarship rescinded, they will get the new custom Lost Scholarship moodlet and be barred from applying for scholarships for 3 days.

New Moodlets

Won Scholarship: Given when a sim wins a scholarship, lasts 1 day, +20 mood, each scholarship has its own custom moodlet icon

Lost Scholarship: Given when a sim has a scholarship rescinded, lasts 3 days, -20 mood, makes sims stressed

Online Aptitude Test

Teen sims and older can now take the university aptitude test on the computer under “Sims University Online”. It works the same as the default interaction.

Tuning

All of the tunable values can be found on the mod download page under the header “Tuning”.

New Cheat

If you want to clear all scholarship winners in your world (on a per save basis), enter the cheat menu and type “ClearScholarshipWinnerData” without the quotation marks.

Conflicts & Known Issues

This is a new script mod so there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

Instrument Lessons Activity

This mod is a simple mod that allows your sims to sign up for instrument lessons (paid lessons) and it acts as an activity so they will slowly build their instrument skill as they go to the activity.

You can choose between guitar, piano or violin lessons. Sometimes I do want to give my sims activities but I did want it to be paid for the realism aspect.

How does this work?

Go on your computer and you will find the "Instrument Lessons Sign Up" pie menu. You can choose between either of the instruments. Parents can sign their children up for lessons.

But after the sim has signed up for the lessons they will need to pay a weekly fee. If you want to pay the fee click on the sim who is taking the lesson and go to "Instrument Lessons Sign Up" and you will find the option to pay. If you don't pay your sim will be kicked out and they will need to wait for a little before they can sign up again.

Every week you will also be reminded to pay for the lessons, you will have 24 hours to pay. If you do not pay you will also be kicked out.

When your sim reaches a higher level in this activity you will be able to attend recitals. Recitals happen every weekend, (Fridays) included and they begin at 5 pm. (This is only available for level 3 players and up.)

What else do I need for the mod?

In all seriousness, I love this so much, this is my makeover for Cassandra in my current save, with two spellcasters, and the younger one is dating Cassandra, and she plays the violin, writes books, and plans to become a paranormal investigator, she's also a crystal girlie.

Magical Mythical Creatures Legacy Challenge

Play through all the sims 4 occult life states and develop your legacy across seven generations.

Feel free to change anything to fit your own gameplay/storytelling style and above all have fun!

Parts of this challenge were inspired by the Simblr Halloween Challenge created by @spacenez and @daddy-winter

Generation 1 - VAMPIRE

Aspiration: Master Vampire

Traits: Music Lover, Erratic, Gloomy

Career: Freelance Artist

Move into a Micro Home with a very large garden. Lot sizes must be 30x30 or bigger (your choice of world)

Collect all 7 Magic beans.

Enter the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree and obtain the Forbidden Fruit.

Regularly eat forbidden fruit to turn into a plantsim.

Grow at least one Forbidden Fruit Tree, Cowplant and Money Tree.

Earn the Super Green Thumb trait from the reward store.

Have no romantic or sexual relationships with any sims.

Have no legitimate children. Once they reach adulthood, either adopt or use the Whispering Wishing Well to wish for a child (this child will be the heir).

Collections: optional - complete them all or pick n’ choose.

Complete the gardening collection

Create all 13 nectar varieties

Create all 15 scented flower arrangements

**How do I turn my Sim into a PlantSim?

Have your Sim reach level 10 of the gardening skill. With level 10 unlocked, you can buy rare seed packets using the computer, or in Build Mode.

Each rare seed packet contains one magic bean. To plant this, buy the Magic PlantSim Stump in Build Mode.

When you have six magic beans, your Sim can plant them in the Magic PlantSim Stump.

After watering, the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree will grow from the Stump and your Sim can travel through the portal.

When your Sim returns with the Forbidden Fruit of the PlantSim (they don’t always return with this, it may take multiple tries) they can eat it and turn into a PlantSim.

Generation 6 - ALIEN

Aspiration: Nerd Brain (*Optional - StrangerVille Mystery)

Traits: Socially Awkward, Genius, Recycle disciple

Career: Engineer

Skills: reach maximum skill level for each.

Handiness

Robotics

Logic

Knitting

Objectives:

Live in Oasis Springs (*Optional - Live in StrangerVille and complete the StrangerVille Mystery).

Build all Utili-Bots and a Servo.

Build a rocket ship and travel to Sixam.

You grew up with the perfect life, literally. Born to two wealthy, beautiful and successful entrepreneurs, you lived a life where your only worries consisted of which party you had to attend to next and whose bed you would be residing in that night. You’ve been surrounded by success, entertained by only the highest social circles. But all good dreams must come to an end. Your parents have given you an ultimatum: either graduate from college as a doctor or lose your inheritance. What’s a sim to do? Being an adult is hard, however, and hardly ever goes as planned. Your partying lifestyle eventually catches up to you, and after a drunken night out with your best friends you end up having a stranger’s child. Now alone with an unwanted baby, your desperation becomes inspiration. You’ll show your parents you never needed to become a doctor.

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy

Career: None/Odd Jobs

Traits: Noncommittal, High Maintenance, Romantic

Extra:

Master the violin skill, painting skill, and knitting skill (you can choose a different skill of your own choosing if you don’t have the pack)

Make at least 2 good friends with at least one “negative” personality trait, party with them at least once every weekend as a young adult.

Throw at least one party where your sim has 3 first kisses within the event (for funsies lole)

Complete at least one week of university (or work) before having a one night stand that results in a daughter (you can cheat for this, and if you’re playing as a sim that can’t get pregnant, you can impregnate another sim and raise the child alone.)

Drop out of college after having your child

Live in an apartment for your entire YA life

Have at least 2 children as a young adult that you are not close with, but your third and all others you have as an adult will have high friendship as they are considered a “planned” pregnancy (high friendship, high romance with partner/spouse). this child is your favorite. and it’s blatant.

Marry the parent of the third child and move out of your apartment and into a home. no specifications on the build but think of it as your “white picket fence” moment.

HIGHSCHOOL NPC's: THE CHEER TEAM.

Hello my dear simmers! Aren't you tired of your highschool having the same weird npc's and characters? Well, if you are I have the solution for you. In this little project I have recreated the Copperdale Highschool teams from scratch, this is part 1 of 4. They are all assigned to their specific after-school activities and each have their own likes, dislikes and skills.

+ INFORMATIONS, INSTRUCTIONS AND DOWNLOAD BELOW THE CUT:

These sims were made mainly with base game + high school years and NO CC whatsoever, any other packs are optional for the pre-chosen milestones, lifestyles, reputation, etc. If any pack other than base game and highschool years show up in the gallery it's a bug.

If you don't want them to move into houses as they're not (in theory) a family, place them into an empty lot, evict them and move them into the "other households" while in the manage households pannel, also if you want them to keep their specific roles/jobs don't forget to turn neighborhood stories off (can be done individually if you don't want it to affect other households).

Into the Forest: A Legacy Challenge

Think about the forest: how each tree stands tall and proud, a singular force amidst the rough and unforgiving terrain. However, what we don’t see is how each tree is connected. Underneath the ground, invisible to our eyes, lies a complex network of roots all interconnected and sharing their same story of life—and death—as the forest grows. This legacy challenge is much like this, where each individual stands tall on their own. However, we will have their roots exposed, and we get to see firsthand how some roots nourish and others infect. This is the “Into the Forest,” challenge.

Rules of the challenge: complete all challenge rules, ALL aspirations must be completed (careers usually as well, but some are generation-specific), genders are never specific unless actually specified, and remember to have fun! tag #forestlegacy if you play this challenge and show me your sims!

When it comes to sim design, I know a lot of people like to have a color scheme (as do I) so I kind of tried to associate the generational color to the appropriate leaf and tree colors. I included the main color I used for each sim in the description but you are free to do whatever you wish with these sims, as this is your challenge and your opportunity to have some fun!

GENERATION ONE: ELM

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy Career: None/Odd Jobs Traits: Noncommittal, High Maintenance, Romantic Color Association: White

Being an adult is hard, however, and hardly ever goes as planned. Your partying lifestyle eventually catches up to you, and after a drunken night out with your best friends you end up having a stranger’s child. Now alone with an unwanted baby, your desperation becomes inspiration. You’ll show your parents you never needed to become a doctor.

master the violin skill, painting skill, and knitting skill (you can choose a different skill of your own choosing if you don’t have the pack)

make at least 2 good friends with at least one “negative” personality trait, party with them at least once every weekend as a young adult.

GENERATION TWO: MAPLE

Aspiration: Soulmate Career: Education Traits: Gloomy, Neat, Unflirty Color Association: Orange

Born to a parent whose social life was more important than the lives they made at home and another whom you never knew, stability was a nonexistent luxury you have always craved. You are unfortunately also the eldest daughter to a single parent, meaning you were the free babysitter. You smother your siblings in love and affection but can’t help but resent your parent for forcing you to give up your childhood years to play mommy. You barely had time to have your first kiss! You would dream of finding a love worth working for, secure and patient and warm, and you would recant these stories to your enraptured audience of baby brothers and sisters.

Your parent settling down finally gives you the opportunity for a new beginning. But maintaining relationships outside of the home is now a foreign concept, and the world can be a cold and cruel place. With the few relationships you were able to salvage as a youth, you slowly etch out an existence for yourself that is uniquely yours. Growing up in a loving home to parents who were able to provide for your every need made you a little more than spoiled, to say the least. You’re grateful, though, from the bottom of your little heart, and want nothing more than to prove to your parents that they raised a champion. You dive head-first into every project that sparks an interest to you but find that your focus dwindles and you can only absorb so much. It’s not that you’re unfocused, it’s just that there is SO much else to learn! People just can’t understand the life of a professional hobbyist.

Born to chaos, you couldn’t even take your first breath without being outshone by the other sibling in the room. It didn’t take long for them to realize they could steal your spotlight easily, and because they were rotten to the core, they delighted in your misery with every opportunity they took to do so. It didn’t help that your parents were busy with their latest fads and flights of fancy, even with the ample love and education they provided you. There really wasn’t any other choice BUT to enjoy being alone.

Your perceived invisibility breeds a lot of resentment, and you vow from a young age to break out of your shell the moment you can. So you plot, and plan, and create in your own little world, waiting for the day you can stake your claim to fame. The life of a wallflower is just not for you!

However, not once has anyone in this house asked if you shared that dream of the spotlight. Because if they had, they would know that all you want is to spend your time in the dirt, hunting for frogs and finding treasure. You long for the simplicity of a hands-on existence, building your own calluses as your pave out your way.

Much like a dragon, you have spent your years amassing piles of priceless artifacts that you lovingly refer to as treasure. From gemstones to friendships, you have meticulously curated your entire existence out of the spotlight. And if you rub a couple people the wrong way in your pursuit of perfection, then that is just the unfortunate consequence of success. Strangely enough, you took shooting for the stars (ridiculously) literally and decided that your childhood dreams needed to be a reality. However, remember that second bit about things that are ridiculously brilliant? There is nothing more ridiculously brilliant than discovering the unadulterated bliss that can be achieved with only two slices of bread and some cheese. That’s right, everyone.

Death becomes an obsession, and you find yourself enamored with the world that lies beyond the veil.

Befriending the dead is a lonely venture, unfortunately, and you eventually find yourself longing for the company of those whose bodies are a little more warm. While on your quest to figure out how to appreciate life, you take to meditation as a form of therapy. In a cold world inhabited by murderers, philanderers, and all kinds of unsavory folk you find yourself afraid, and that fear breeds a hatred for your fellow man. There has to be someone who can stand up to all the injustice in the world, and if that someone has to be you, then screw the consequences. The path to justice makes few friends along the way, but that never bothered you much. You’ve always had your furry friends to keep you company on the days where the world feels foreign and hostile, and you dote on them with all the care of a loving parent.

And that was the length of your parental instinct, as there was no way in hell you could possibly bring another life into a world so cold. In your mind there would be no crueler fate, and those who bore those children were committing a selfish act. So it gives you great pause when, suddenly, you find yourself in love (with a married sim, no less. with kids, no less). Cue the drama.

Cosmic Legacy Challenge for TS3

Oh wow, its my third challenge. Anyway, I was looking for new challenges and wondered why no one has made a planet themed challenge for TS3 (there's a lot for TS4). So I decided to make one.

Cosmic Legacy Challenge is a 11 gen challenge that includes the sun, planets, the moon,and Pluto because I wanted Pluto so therefore, its spaced theme. Each generation is based off a mix of astronomy, astrology,and greek/roman mythology. Some of the goals in certain generations require your sim crying/drama and if that’s your playstyle that’s cool but heads up if it isn’t. So if you enjoy space, space themed adventures, or a bit of drama from time to time in your legacies, this might be for you.

That’s why you have taken upon yourself to expand your inner world and focus on becoming the best version of yourself. But while you’ve always believed you are a good person, don’t forget that you are also flawed and susceptible to making mistakes just like the rest of us.

Samir: Fear of loss. His parents were killed, he still doesn't know why, so he is afraid of loss Reece: He has off the chart confidence in most things. I think if he had to have a fear it would be that Samir will get killed by whoever killed his parents

A long post about Castaway stories

I wanted to play Sims the other day, but I'm already tired of the usual Sims, like the Sims Medieval. And I remembered the existence of Sims Stories.

This game turned out to be so pleasant and bright for a cold and cloudy winter! It's so warm!

But in order to play it fully, like in Sims 2, you need to set it up first. And it's not that everything is difficult, but I suffered.

1.To begin with, as in the case of Sims 2 - Graphic Rules Maker

In the drop-down menu, select Castaway or find it manually.

In general, the setup is similar to Sims 2 and there are many guides on this topic, but I want to clarify that if you are going to use the reshade, then you need to check the box next to the "Disable Dirty Rectangle".

2.Then, as in the case of Sims 2, you need to patch the game to avoid crashes.

3.I haven't checked if the RPC launcher works for this part. But if you don't have it, then here are the instructions for installing the ReShade.

4.Next, install mods and cc.

Just like in Sims 2, create a "Downloads" folder in the documents.

And don't be like me - don't forget to enable this option. I've broken my whole head why only floors and CAS items work, but buy mode and hacks don't…

On the MTS website, it is recommended not to install mods until you complete the main plot, otherwise it may break. I haven't experimented with this, but cc for CAS and for buy mode don't break the game.

5. My must have list of mods:

1)Garden Crop and Ultimate Fruit Collection - An absolute musthave, because in any survival there should be gardening as a constant source of food. I moved all the plants to the "general" section in the simpe, which corresponds to the "Nature" section. Otherwise, they will simply have nowhere to appear.

2) Woodworking bench - That was the first thing I thought about when I started playing this game. It works great, but! Do not try to make a guitar, a violin and a shelf, otherwise the table will freeze. I cut out all these functions from my desk and put it in the "Survival" section (corresponds to the "Sitting-rest" section), which I advise you, otherwise it will appear in the mirrors by default.

3)A workaround for the broken MoveObjects cheat - Required for the previous mod.

FFS debbuger - Needs no introduction. It is located in the "Nature" section. Be careful to use different functions, it cleans gossip well, stuck effects, garbage memory, you can cause snow with it. But you don't need to use functions like "Upgrade to University"

This list was made more for myself, but maybe it will help others get answers to some questions or find something new for themselves without experimenting.

I am still actively playing this game and sometimes I correct/add to the list. Everything in it is used in my game together, there are no conflicts.

Be careful with the mods for autonomy! Many of them disable the entire autonomy of the game
