Seasons of Love Challenge

If you want a mini-challenge that centers on romance, story, and gameplay, then this might be the perfect challenge for you! I introduce to you, the Seasons of Love Challenge! Pair up or create four pairs and be the matchmaker and the writer of their destiny. Get indulged with their story and help them find love by the end of the season!

For each season, we have different couple that may or may not fall in love before the season ends. I recommend that you edit the in-game season length, it can be up to 7, 12, 21 or 25 days per season, depending to you. This challenge can either be rotational or generational, it’s completely up to you.

Feel free to remove and add some more activities to the following. These are not really rules, but more like guides or checklist that you can do so that you won’t run out of ideas to do for each round, and hopefully, help progress the relationship of the each pair.

For those who prefer slow-burn romance (like me!) there’s a Slowburn Romance Edition by the end with some set of rules, be sure to check that out! This is supposedly a personal challenge for my game, but I thought it would be nice to share it with the community. Note: You may play this in any order.

SUMMER

trope: enemies to lovers

backstory:

- sim A is demoted from her work because of her hotheaded nature, and was assigned in this town where her grandparents/(or) sister live. She absolutely hates that, she wants to go up the ladder and build her name, but how can she do that now that she's demoted and stuck in this town?

- sim B is carefree and enigmatic, living his life to the fullest. He used to get sick a lot when he was a child and now that he's a teen and rarely gets sick anymore, he wants to break free from those restrictions and do the things he hasn't done in his childhood.

how things started:

~ Just few days before his birthday, sim B is feeling rebellious and wants to spend the best of his teenage days, even if that means breaking the curfew. So, he stayed out late with his friends to party and even went to the beach and lit some fireworks just before he go home. But, on his way home, the police patrol saw him! He knew he's so screwed, but what can he do? He plead with the cop, which happens to be Sim A, but she don't take any of his bullshit. Which eventually leads to some misunderstanding, fight and disliking each other. Guess the last of his teenage day is remarkable afterall, especially if you're being escorted back to your house in police car.

~ If things aren't already worst as they are, he, unfortunately, bumped with the same cop again when she joined the surfing/scuba diving club. Oh well, guess they have to see each other a lot now. Will this be the perfect summer as he imagined, or will it be totally ruined because of that one hot-headed cop?

trope: distant childhood friends to lovers

backstory:

~ Sim A and Sim B where inseparable when they're kids. They spent afternoons playing video games, playing with their toys and painting together. But things changed when they entered High School. Sim B moved to a different part of town and became more distant as she found new circle of friends, and eventually, had a boyfriend. She thought it was forever! Only to find out that she's pregnant with someone who totally, totally dislikes children. So, she runaway from home and found herself back to the small apartment where she was raised, back to where sim A lives just next door.

~ Sim A was surprise to see Sim B again. He always wanted to make up and be friends with her again, but he always felt shy and small when he sees her with her new set of friend and popular boyfriend. Now that she's back, will he finally have the courage to talk to her again?

~ Moreover, can Sim B raised this child alone? And will she find comfort again with the boy next door?

trope: Second chance romance

backstory:

~ Sim A and Sim B are highschool sweethearts. They dreamed of living together and building their family when they were teens. They thought it was forever. But things took a drastic change when Sim B suddenly disappeared when his father died, leaving him to live with his mother in France, leaving sim B behind. Sim B never expected this, she never expected to bear a child with Sim A as well. She can't seem to find him anymore, but still, she decided that she will raise this child.

~ Years later, Sim B discovered that their child was sick and only had a few months left. Pile with grief, the kid is constantly looking for his/her father as well. Sim B doesn't want to let her child rest without seeing his/her father. So, again, she tried to look for him. And she found him! Turns out that he's now a rockstar in France, with a name and career. After knowing all of this, he quickly booked the ticket back to their town.

~ Will him coming back after years of disappearance mend their broken hearts and finally build the family they've dreamed? Or will they stay together just for the sake of their dying child?

He’s a successful author, but he’s very shy and introverted and all the socialization and parties of the big city aren’t for him. He find this new town peaceful and gives him more inspiration to write. Perhaps, he can spend the winter holiday here, or will he decide to settle down in this quiet little town?

~ The death of her mother brings Sim B so much grief. Now that she’s just living on her own, she decides to open again their old bakery and let travelers rent her place. She’s a loner, more now that her mother, her only bestfriend died. Now she just spends her time baking and selling and knitting to ease her mind, will this new traveler who stays with her bring some color in her dull life?

i know that setting up a home business can be a bit complicated, so you can have 2 alternative options, 1) you can just purchase another community lot near your house and have the bakery there; or, 2) just drop the bakery all at once and you may find a different job for sim B.

Of course, this challenge wouldn't be as fun if you didn't share your gameplay and screenshots with the community! So, here are additional things that you can do for all rounds:

Take a screenshot of every activity that you did.

Pick your favorite memories and you may edit them as Polaroid pictures.

Make them do couple poses and take amazing photos of them together!

For each round/season that you finish, edit the photos that you had like a scrapbook, photo album or whatever creative idea you can think of.

SLOWBURN ROMANCE EDITION

Now, if you’re like me who likes to take things slow, this rules are for you! You may or may not apply them, just an extra challenge for those who wants slower romance to this challenge.

You must only force up to only 10 romance interactions, the rest will be up to the sims autonomy and wishes

You can not force them to kiss and woohoo, it will only depend on the sims wish and/or autonomy

You can only force atleast 3 dates, the rest will be up to the sims autonomy/wish

A Sims 4 Players Guide To The Sims 3 By Simmearly

I am putting this together based on my own gameplay experiences and expectations, so some of this is purely my opinion.

I recently decided that with my new PC I would re-install The Sims 3, and All EPs, to see how it ran and play around with the features I miss in TS4,

I followed this guide on steam to set the game up to run smoothly.

To paraphrase just a little, this includes a TON of information, but basically, it shows you how to replace the launcher, and run the game on modern machines without issues.

Gameplay would not be possible for longer than an in-game week or so without the fantastic NRAAS & Lazy Duchess Mods.

I Use, Nraas Overwatch, Master Controller, Register, Error Trap & Traveller, which is my personal favorite, as it allows you to travel to more worlds for vacations, and own vacation homes in them etc. It also allows for you to move to a new town and retain relationships from the other town(s) you've lived in.

I recommend good default skin and eye replacements, as well as default replacements for Eyebrows and Beards, I Recommend Checking out @brntwaffles on Tumblr, as they have these as well as lighting mods to brighten up the in-game lighting and water!

Gameplay Mods,

I really enjoy TS3 Vanilla gameplay, so this list is short (For Now) however I do want to expand upon it, the Growing Pains Mod - adds a lot to the child stage and I feel like it integrates so well with Vanilla that it could have been in the game from the start.

Smaller Quality of Life mods,

Nectar Glass Replacements

Sim Drinks - Adds Buffs For Bar Drinks

Shop For Clothes at Clothing Rack, TS2 Style

That's it For Now, I will probably update this post as my Legacy continues, I am currently on Gen 4, and am having a BLAST!

Also - I do own quite a bit of the Store content and I have found myself using it more than expected, I bought a lot of it years ago, and I failed to realize then just how much gameplay is involved,

The Steam it up sauna is currently my favorite object due to its regenerative properties, but the Business-as-Usual industrial Oven, placed on your home lot allows for you to basically have a private chef! (Don't pay full price for any store content, wait for a sale or find it on other avenues) ;)

Edit - TIP! Reset your town using Nraas every few sim weeks to keep things running smoothly

Welcome to the Big Mummy Challenge!

(logo not final, it's just for this post xD)

It's time to reveal what new Sims 3 series I'm planning, which I hope you will participate in!

Since I was a child I always liked reality shows, especially Big Brother (the UK edition to be exact) and I liked the idea of the SimBrother challenge. I created my own take on this challenge, which I already did on Discord channels but now it's time to try my luck on Tumblr (and maybe Twitter 😉).

Welcome to the Big Mummy challenge which is basically a SimBrother challenge... but with mummies!

Eight contestants enter the Big Mummy House, where luxuries, magic, and secrets await those who enter. These housemates will have to live together, complete tasks and challenges, forge alliances, maybe cause some drama, while the weakest will face eviction from the hands of our lovely mummies - the servants of Big Mummy.

Who will be the last Sim standing and win the big prize?

Every Big Mummy has a theme, and this season's theme is... will be a surprise 🫢, the screenshots from my previous post might give you a little clue 😉

The casting is now OPEN and your Sim can become one of the contestants!

You can submit your Sims either by creating a post and using #BigMummyCasting on Tumblr or Twitter; or by sending me a DM with all the necessary info and pictures.

At the end of the casting, 8 Sims will be chosen and I will ask their creators for the files (either in .Sims3pack or .package format)

You can send your submissions until February 11th, 2024

Only one submission per player

Submit a human Sim within Young Adult - Elder life stage (no Occults this time, sorry 😔)

Do not use any CC, but you can use all EPs, SPs, and Store items

The only defaults I use in-game are Ultra-Plain Eyes and Faces by tamo, which can be seen on the hosts above

You can set multiple outfits for your Sims but it's not needed, I will dress them up for the tasks

Include a brief introduction of the contestant:

- Name: (e.g Bella Goth) - Life stage: (YA - E) - City: (from existing cities in The Sims franchise) - Traits: (at least 5) - Introduction: (a little backstory of the Sim, why they decided the enter the contest) - Skills: (1-2 in-game skills they are really good at)

Please, include also a photo of the Sim from CAS and some screenshots in-game that show the contestant's personality - you choose 😃

About the Challenge

This challenge will let you start a fresh canvas - a new society - where everything is created by you and your active sims. You start a new life in a completely empty world. Create your own story! The catch is that the challenge is played similarly to a city builder sim, whereas all public buildings and lots must be funded by a tax system. Buildings also have skill requirements and other restrictions. There is a chart for this, no worries!

Similar challenges exist and I do not take credit for the idea of building a new world with restrictions and a tax system.

Starting the Challenge

Recommended Mods

Cazarupt's Custom Rabbit Holes

Will make it possible to build your own rabbit hole buildings that fit the aesthetic your town is going for.

Nrass MasterController

Has a setting to retain dreams and opportunities when switching between active households, and switching households can be done in live mode by clicking on a house’s icon (less lag).

Nrass Story Progression

If you want to keep story progression on while still being in control of your unactive sims this mod is perfect as you can choose whether or not your sims can move out, get pregnant, etc, while being unactive.

Recommended Settings

Turn off automatic vampires, werewolves, witches, etc. (NOT pets)

If it is not turned off it will turn your households that are not currently active into occults to fill a quota.

Turn “Retain dreams and opportunities” under “All” settings in Nrass MasterController.

Accessible by using a computer since a city hall will not be present in the beginning of the challenge.

If you don’t want your sims to get pregnant, move or do too much without you playing with them, turning off story progression completely is recommended. (I prefer this setting). OR use Nrass story progression for custom settings.

Warnings

Do not switch households while a pregnant sim is giving birth.

The pregnant sim will never leave the hospital.

You will need

An empty world.

Do not remove lots unless you know what you are doing. They can be hard to place back. (Tip: Removing buildings takes forever! There are downloads of emptied world versions out there.)

A founder household.

An empty lot.

A park (or more of them).

Do as you please with the parks, but they should only have a naturally occurring landscape with trees and lakes, for example. No park benches or lights, for example. Plants that carry harvest are also allowed in the parks and can be added with BuyDebug.

Harvestable plants should only be plants that are available from gardening skill 1.

The reason for starting with parks is so that there is a place for your sims to hang out, collect items and potentially harvest from plants.

5000 simoleons as your starting funds.

How to: first use the "testingcheatsenabled true" cheat, then use "familyfunds yourfamilyname 5000"

Rules and guidelines

BuyDebug is generally not allowed.

Can be allowed to add cosmetic items such as a "hidden room marker" for your custom rabbit holes. Use your discretion when it comes to what is helping you progress or not.

The free future portal is not allowed.

It must be bought to be used. Also remove the simoleons you gain from selling the future portal for the first time.

All public lots and buildings must be funded by tax money and cannot be built freely.

Everything must be created by you; both sims, lots and buildings.

All rabbit hole buildings are allowed.

Each public lot allows for two households to live in the world.

If you have built two public lots, you are allowed to have four households.

The existing parks do not count, and the first public lot built will allow for one new household. The next after that will allow for two more, for example.

5 public lots = 10 households, including your founder household.

You don't have to add new households, though, add them when you want to.

A sim moving away from their family counts as a new household. If you do not have enough public lots for them to become their own household the sim cannot move out.

New households' starter money

Households added before the City Hall is built will start with 5000 simoleons

Households added after the City Hall is built will start with the standard starter simoleons amount.

Do not play the same household for too long

All your households in the town should be in rotation but there are no strict rules. Play the household you want just as long as you remember to switch every couple of weeks or so.

Tax system and "Town's Funds"

Town's Funds

It is the money that will be spent on public lots.

It will be filled by collected taxes and bills.

Households can "donate" to the Town's Funds if they wish.

How I recommend to keep track of the Town's Funds

Use a calculator and a percentage calculator website (or google).

Keep a physical notebook, excel sheet or a different digital documenting method in front of you.

Do your taxes calculation every Sunday.

Note all bills as soon as they get paid so you have them ready until the end of the week.

Tax rules

Taxes will go into to the Town's funds.

10% of an active households's simoleons will be taxed every week.

15% of an active household’s simoleons with a house value of 50,000 or more will be taxed every week.

Bills also go to the Town's funds.

The 10-15% tax amount should be removed from the household's funds with the familyfunds cheat.

Taxes should be calculated every Sunday.

1 public lot = 2 households allowed

This also applies to lots that do not have restrictions like a library or a bar.

If a rabbit hole building includes two instances or more the requirements for them are merged and will cost 10,000§ less for two instances or 20,000§ less for three instances.

And I didn´t even use any other CC beside the items I downloaded for this challenge, because at the moment I have nothing installed in my game - like I said I am sorting all the mods I have, thousands of them... they are in such chaos, I don´t find anything any more, ooh my youdontwannaknow.

Actually, I wanted to discipline myself, and *not* download *any* new stuff, before the old stuff is sorted!

But... while going through all this files, I got this urge to just PUT THEM ALL IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW!, just everything!, and play with them, all-this-so-wonderfull-things! I guess this might be familiar to you - feel free to let me know :-D !

So instead of finishing the sorting, what will take a while, like the next 5 days, or 9, or 30, ... I will just download some new stuff, piling it on top of the mountain :-D !

Of course this is something else now, right?, it doesn´t count, it´s just because of this challange, that´s different. Of course.

Briarclaw was born on the outskirts of McGreggor Farms and was a barn cat for most of her early life, protecting crops from rodents and her barn from intruders. Now, she protects her clan. As sharp as her namesake, Briarclaw can be a bit rough around the edges- but, at heart, she just wants to protect the things (and cats) she cares about. If that makes her a jerk, then so be it.

While I can get some progress done, Nick has been able to get some riding time in and is even jumping now!

Cole and Jasmine also took a day to relax and have some fun training together.

Finally, to try and help optimize I decided to purchase a separate piece of property nearby the farm for the retired horses to reside.

Sims Challenge: Mother May I?

I created this challenge 5 years ago and it never really got much attention. It is a super fun challenge for people who are a lil twisted.

Original Post Warning: This challenge is MEAN to Sims. If you enjoy doing mean things to your Sims, keep reading. If not, click here. I designed this challenge to work for Sims 3 or Sims 4, as I play both. Works verhy well in 3.

Mother: Your Main Sim  Must be a Young Adult Female alone to begin.  Name is up to you.  Traits must include Erratic/Insane  No cheats or game mods to turn off jealousy.  She must always make the big family decisions. (Moving, Vacations, Paying Bills, Kid Activities, Discipline, etc.)  Her job can be anything but law enforcement, politics, or detective/secret agent.

The Rules After building the house, money should be set to no more than $20,000.  YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE MALES UNLESS THEY ARE CLOSE TO DEATH! You may assign males to garden by choosing tend garden. You may assign a male to cook a group meal.  If he has the kleptomaniac trait, you may send him out stealing for mother with a female escort. Escorts can be any age, Toddler to Elder, as long as they are female. Escort does not have to be related or household member, but Mother must know them well.  Your main female is to have a large beautiful bedroom with all of the modern amenities. Television, stereo, computer, video game, etc. Only she is allowed in the bedroom. All others will share the male or female quarters and be locked out of Mother’s quarters. While she is romancing a new man , they are allowed in Mother’s bedroom. Once she is pregnant, he gets sent to the male quarters immediately.  Remember, the main female is the leader. All other Sims in the home must defer to her.  Males in the home are not allowed to work outside of the home. No computer, television or tablet for males unless being rewarded. They may do anything for fun that is not electronic.  Female children may use Mother's computer to improve skills or complete work assignments only!  Males must do all the housework. (Dishes, laundry, cooking, caring for children.) You cannot make them do it though. If it sits too long, the closest male is punished.  No maids, nannies, or butlers. We don’t want the outside to know how we live.  Males are not allowed to leave the home lot without a female escort unless it is school. If they leave on their own, they must be punished when they return.  Male children must be kicked out when they reach young adult.  Female children may stay and work freely (as you wish).  The male children are to be left on their own. They must pass or fail in school as they will. Do only what you must to keep them alive. Do not direct them to do homework or eat. If they are taken away or die, so be it. Our focus is the girl children. LOL

 If a male dies, their sisters and mother are the only ones allowed to plead for his life when the Grim Reaper arrives. (Your choice to plead for life)

Objectives  No relationship cheats. No mods to choose traits.  Start making friends right away!  You will need to convince someone to move in with your Sim as soon as possible.  Try to get pregnant quickly after first person moves in.  While pregnant, convince 2nd person to move in.  Be discreet in the beginning.  Mother must have at least 4 children by 4 different people but you may have as many as you like to make it interesting.  All fathers must live in the home before she gets pregnant by them.  Build 3 large bedrooms. One for males. One for females. One huge room for Mother.  Activities room is optional, but suggested.

Punishments Room Build a small 4x4 room. No decoration. No wall coverings and bare floor. This room can be put in the backyard and will look like a small shed. You may paint the outside as you wish, but no windows. You may need 2 cots in the room if more than one male needs to be punished.  If a male breaks a rule, he is to go to the punishment room for 2 days.  Toddlers are not punished as they cannot do chores.  He is allowed only one meal and 2 pes of fruit or veggies a day. One skill book. One uncomfortable single bed. One toilet. One small sink. Nothing else!  Door is to be locked or removed until punishment is over. He is allowed no social interaction with family.  If he breaks a rule while in isolation, he gets another day. He must keep his cell clean!  Trash can is optional.

Things to Be Punished For  Using electronics  Being mean to a female (yelling, scolding, arguing, hitting, pranks)  Not cleaning.  Garden plant dying.  Poorly made meal or drinks.  Burning a meal.  Setting a fire.  Breaking an object.  Not making it to the bathroom in time.  Romantic interaction when Mother is not “dating” them  Being smelly near Mother.  Dropping a grade in school.  Inviting Sims over that Mother does not know.  Be creative. Rewards Room/Mother's Room  Once a week, she may choose a man to “date”. She can take him out; he can sleep in her bed for the day.  Male children who do well in school may go to a community lot once a week, but only with a female escort.  Male children who do well in school may enjoy electronics time in Mother's room once a week.

“Winning”  Your goal is to have at least one daughter with the insane/erratic trait. She and Mother must be enemies before she reaches young adult.  The insane/erratic daughter must fight Mother at her young adult birthday party. She is the only child allowed to have a party.  If she loses, her father will be executed. If he is not alive, then her closest sibling or friend.  She must fight mother until she wins, unless she has a younger sister close to young adult with the insane/erratic trait.  If more than one daughter has the trait, the order is oldest to youngest.  If she wins the fight, Mother must move out and the new “Mother” can free her fathers and brothers from the cult or start a new generation of her own.
