I present to you... Silver Lining! My #superhero #persona I created at my @indiecreativessandiego meetup... finally finished from starting it, like, months ago haha. Like, back when #avengersendgame came out... whoops 😬. We did a #random #superpower #prompt #generator night and one choice I got out of three was #hope #empowerment 🤔 a strange one for sure, but also very intriguing. I immediately just thought of #sky and #cloud and #light imagery as symbols of hope, and then my #pun brain thought of #SilverLining as a name and theme... and of course in my head canon, citizens mistakingly call him Silver #Lightning because that is oh-so-much-more-superhero-y, but that doesn’t get this hero down! In fact, he just leans into it... check out that logo! (I spent so much time on that damn silly and simple logo...). Anyway! This was really fun and I spent too much time on it, but like it a lot. I planned to do a negative version of it where, when the hero feels despair, he becomes black and red or something and the clouds and sky get stormy... as opposed to being powered by hope, he gets drained by misery. Yep, dark duality! #relatable but also I might just be done with this idea for a whiiiiile. Out this week: Hellcop 3D (Image Comics, $7.99)

This series by Brian Haberlin and Geirrod Van Dyke is about a security force that keeps the denizens of a Hell dimension from finding their way to Earth. But here’s the real selling point — it’s in 3D! I believe there’s a regular edition of it as well, but why would you want it, when you could have the 3D version (which comes with a pair of glasses, of course)? I haven’t seen a 3D comic in forever, but they were quite the rage back in the day and every so often you see a wave of them come out. So hopefully this is the first of many.
