Four fighters have been named as fighting at the event at the same press conference: the RISE Super Lightweight Champion Kosei Yamada, the former RISE Lightweight Champion Kento Haraguchi, the three-weight Shootboxing Champion Hiroki Kasahara, all of whom are ranked by Beyond Kickboxing, as well as the Shootboxing S-Cup winner Kaito Ono. Their opponents will be revealed on October 15, during the ‘RISE World Series 2022' event.

Well... Emu is pretty overpowered when he's transformed, what with Hyper Muteki being a thing and all. So they nerf him by having him get beaten up while untransformed lol

Also, in almost every instance where he gets beaten up badly, it's usually because he has to be taken out of commission for some reason (usually it's in a V-Cinema focusing on other characters)... or it's kinda self-inflicted in a sense, like him cutting himself on a mirror to leave himself a message in the GoRider special (which has some... rather worrying implications tbh).

As for the case with Ikki... he's actually one of the rare instances where a main Rider actor is actually trained in martial arts, as Kentaro Maeda does have a real black belt in karate. Muramasa being a swordsman in the V-Cinema is just them deciding to show off Junya Komatsu's kendo skills at long last (he was good enough to compete on the national level). Atsuhiro Inukai did shootboxing, so they incorporated that into Sento's fighting style (and henshin pose).

Whenever actors have any sort of special skill like this, they milk it for all it's worth, and this whole sequence with Ikki and Azuma is just them taking advantage of Kentaro and Kane Kosugi's exceptional skills lol

スポーツビジネスはとても難しい。格闘技もその限りで、ONEも累計500億の赤字を積み上げているし、ベラトールも長らく赤字で親会社の支えなくして成立する体制はないし、PFLも同様で100億単位の資金調達してなんとか運営してるけど、収支を見るとビジネスとしてはだいぶ苦しい。国内の団体もRIZINは榊原さんが尋常ならざるリスクを個人で負い続けて、今、ようやくビジネスとしては花実が咲く状態になってる。（上記にあげた名だたる団体の中で、実は最もRIZINが資本効率が良い。プロモーターとしてももちろん、経営者としても実は榊原さんはすごい） 本物志向なら国内にもRIZINをはじめ、修斗、DEEP、パンクラス、GRACHAN、Fighting Nexus、K-1、RISE、KNOCK OUT、Krush、新日本キック、SHOOTBOXING、HEATなど、素晴らしい団体がたくさんあるのも事実。 私も今日まで約180億ほど資金を調達してあらゆる会社の経営を担い、またたくさんの失敗を重ねてきたけど、道徳なき経済は罪悪であり、経済なき道徳は寝言である、という二宮尊徳の言葉の重さを痛感してる。 論語と算盤、理念と戦略、信念と数字の両方を重ねていく作業は簡単ではない。 国内外の私もよく観戦させてもらってるそれぞれの格闘技団体も、本当に見るたびに感動するし、理念も信念も素晴らしいところばかり。ただ、残念ながら、実際に算盤と数字が伴っているところは極めて少ないのが実情かなと。それにより、関係者も選手も、経済的には二足の草鞋を履かなければいけない人も少なくない。 BreakingDownのCEOの朝倉未来、海くん、陸斗くんをはじめ、関わってくれてる格闘技関係者の方々もBreakingDownを本物の格闘技と言う人は誰一人いないし、今現在のあり方すべてに満足してるわけでも、納得してるわけでも決してない。 彼らは、批判されることはわかっているけど、戦いの世界を知ってもらう、格闘技に興味を持ってもらうきっかけになればという想いから、力を尽くしてくれてる。 私たちのところには、実際に、「格闘技ジムの入会者はたくさん増えた」、格闘技関連商品を扱い経営者からは「BreakingDownきっかけで売上が伸びた」と感謝の言葉をもらう機会は少なくない。また今回のようにBreakingDownがきっかけで新しい団体が立ち上がり、より正しい方向に向かうのであれば、BreakingDownの意味にもつながるのかなと。 「BreakingDownは格闘技でない」という批判も多いですが、格闘技に関心のない一般の方々からすると、それらはあまり重要ではない意見のように思ってる。私は元々格闘技業界にいなかったこともあり、尚更そのように思うのもあるかもしれない。 野球やサッカーのようなメジャースポーツにしていきたいのであれば、小さな分母を取り合うのではなく、母集団そのものを大きくする役割を誰かが担う必要がある。 その意味では、今や格闘家の多くの人にとってのスタンダードになりつつあるYoutubeやSNS発信も、少し時間を遡れば、朝倉未来や朝倉海の二人が当時あらゆる格闘技関係者に批判されたり、揶揄されたりしていたけど、それらを通じた彼らの活動が格闘技人口の母集団を大きくしたきっかけになったのは否定しようのない事実。 もちろん、BreakingDownがすべてにおいてプラスの影響を業界に与えているとは思っていないし、課題も大きいのは自覚してます。それはみんな認識しています。そして、必要な点に関しては、ひとつずつ改善していきたいと思っています。人がいろいろ感じるのは全て理由があるのも理解してます。私の目から見ても、問題は山積みです。だからこそ批判をされたくないと思ってるわけではないです。それらが糧になっているのも事実です。だからこそ、これからも甘んじて受ける覚悟はあります。 ただ、理想として、同じ業界で同じ目標に向かって切磋琢磨すべき間柄の人たちに関しては、自分以外の誰かを落としたり否定することで、自分たちの存在意義を示そうとする方法はとってほしくないと思っています。互いにとっても業界にとってもプラスはないと思っています。少なくとも我々はどこ��を批判するつもりはありません。 それぞれの団体が、それぞれの個性を出して、自分の信じる道を突き進めばいいと思っています。個性や信念によって生じる光と陰、良い面悪い面を見て、ファンや選手が選べばいいと思います。 感情のままに書き綴りましたが、やはり私が一番伝えたいことは、CEOの朝倉未来くんも海くんも、荒んでいた、何者でもなかった自分たちを救い上げてくれた格闘技への感謝の気持ちを誰よりも抱いていること、そして、時間やお金、影響力を自分たちがたまたま持つに至ったからこそ、何かしらの事情で持たざる人たちに対して、人生のきっかけを与えたいと彼らが心から思ってるということですかね。 それがこの先、少しでも多くの人に伝わればいいなと思っています。

Yup. He has a black belt in karate as well, and he apparently taught Ayaka Imoto (Sakura) most of what she does on the show himself.

Quite a lot of the recent Rider actors are into various types of sports and martial arts, it seems. Shuichiro Naito did gymnastics, Atsuhiro Inukai was into shootboxing (which is why Sento's henshin pose was a boxing stance), Sou Okuno did ballet.

They probably did it as hobbies before becoming actors, and continued doing it since their job requires them staying fit to look attractive... but I suppose it also helps with the physicality their role requires.
