What is with all the fighting?
BuckTommy vs Buddie is going to be a pay per view octagon situation if this continues.
How is everyone fighting about things that have not happened? Why is there a budding ship war?
This is why fandom can't have nice things.
Can anyone provide a reasonable and rational explanation for this madness? Can both sides not see the writers have set this up to go one of a million different ways and no one except the people working on the show know where it is going?
I could argue how both sides could be probable and even support the most farfetched "tinhat theories" with actual canonical scenes, lines, and hints.
How the hell are fans arguing over which "endgame" is the right one? We don't get a say. Minear and his crew are firmly in control and unless you are going to argue with him, what is the point? (BTW, don't do that! For the love everything, if you are one of those who goes after the producers, writers, and actors, can I just say you give fandom as a whole a bad name and ask you to stop! Geez!)
A part of me thinks ABC and the showrunners are doing all this to fuel debates and dissent which will increase interest and send the already sky-high ratings through the roof this season and ensure at least several more seasons to come. Guess what? It's working.
Can we all agree that Buck, who didn't just turn bi one day but has been bi all his life and didn't know it, has definitely looked at and flirted with Eddie, Eddie and women have a weird dynamic, Eddie has definitely eyef****d his best friend more than once, Buck and Tommy are definitely having naked fun times (since Tommy is a beast, I think we know who is getting their back blown out), and no one has a clue about the direction the writers will take Tommy in?
Imho, in some more than platonic way, which we can spend hours debating, Tommy was/is into Eddie, Tommy is into Buck, Buck was/is into Eddie, Buck is into Tommy, and Eddie was/is into Buck. Eddie has canonically stated he is not into Tommy, so I am going to go with it because in six seasons, Tommy is the only person Eddie has stated he is not interested in.
If I were in that writer's room, I would be suggesting so much mess it would make Jerry Springer look like Sunday school. (Sue me. I love drama in my shows and movies. Not in my life, though. Definitely not.)
Now, can we all chill the hell out and see where this FICTIONAL story about FICTIONAL characters goes?

I saw that you are now all caught up with Dead Friend Forever, as an horror fan do you have any hints or ideas for how the show is going to end? I am just loving all the theories in this fandom, and wanted to know if you have some.
LOL I'm actually writing up a big post about the film influences of DFF, like what horror genres and works I think the show is pulling from.
I'll be honest, I'm not much of a theorist when it comes to guessing the trajectory of a story. Or maybe I'm just not good at solving mysteries lol I'd def be the Shaggy of a group rather than the Velma.
Right now some of my current theories, if I were to call them such, are:
The show ending will be similar to Girl From Nowhere's s1 finale where everything was actually a drug induced violent mass hallucination and the story will end more open ended and unsettling than definitive. Which I would be totally down for, but I get the feeling most in fandom wouldn't be.
I think, just based on what I've observed, folks in fandom want a more clear-cut slasher based ending with a "final girl" and such which, DFF isn't much of a slasher to me (I'll argue my point regarding this in my film post about the series I promise) it has the bare bones of a slasher but not the soul of one.
So my other theory is that's the ending DFF will have, a more by-the-numbers slasher based ending with maybe one final plot twist - like idk White being involved or something - and one char surviving - personally if this is the ending the show has I think it'll be Jin who is the "final girl" as it would match the short film footage we saw of their movie.
Which I would be fine with, but less impressed by overall. Not because I don't like Jin, I actually do as a char - ppl are really harsh on the char tho damn also the TaCopper vs TaBarcode ship wars are PEAK weirdo tinhat behavior to me anyways - but it is the most predictable ending. Even if it's not Jin and it's some other char a "final girl" style ending feels, hm, fine. Not bad but just fine.
I think another possible ending is that no one survives, as per Non's rewritten script. Which would be a bummer but could be interesting depending on how it's done.
My totally 100% out of the hot pocket theory is this has all been an elaborate movie set up ala Urban Legends 2 which I think would make everyone mad but the chaos of it all would crack me the fuck up and I'd love it for that alone.
So yeah, nothing to in detail just some general possible thoughts on the ending. Like could Non be alive? Yeah I could buy that, I could buy he's dead-dead too. I think whether he is or isn't will be a final act plot twist though, and not "the ending". So even if he is alive, whether he survives after would still be up in the air.
Most slashers end with the slasher dying at the hands of the final girl as a cathartic way to "murder the monster for survival". Again I don't think DFF is much of a slasher, but if fandom thinks it is then we gotta acknowledge that as a major part of the sub genre as well.

genuinely funny 2p0 is pretending anyone is moving the goalposts when literally all of my posts are "I told you so, I even told you this part distinctly for the last 2 years, and 2p0 won't post the M&G info for a reason."
bro the goalposts aren't moving, you're just running away from them. Cope. You couldn't pull your propaganda dialogue manipulation this time because you knew there would be different parties in the room than normal that would call you out on your horse shit, which is why you been sitting on your ass.
You've all but abandoned your blog since NYCC and your 2 hour long grieving period that let you dodge covering any of it. You blew your own foot off with your sad episode 2 attempt being exactly what you screamed against me, tweeting that shit out unironically. You're just sitting here sadly shuffling through your posts figuring out how to manipulate this into your own relevance as the walls close in.
The show is exactly what the show is, when I first told you there would be a show and what it was about, before you guys ever heard there would be a show since the Deadline leak, and now 2p0 is trying to cobble together straws for a place they somehow still belong in this show or fandom and pretend they didn't argue against that shit, and can't figure this shit out, and can't see the continuity in my leaks about this for a year and a half while they lied and denied their way down.
2p0 has been actively FLEEING what's really happening since the Deadline leak and is going "THEY'RE MOVING THE GOALPOSTS" while slamming his foot on the gas to fucking run away from the goal Jensen is blasting his shot through.
i still can't believe that man is so incomprehensibly stupid that after a year of screaming "this isn't about dean learning from his parents" until blue in the face he unrionically posted "spoiler, Teach Your Children Well is about learning from your parents" no shit sherlock. Catch up. AND blew him and wiki and wigglebox up by showing my script was right all along. Like, darwin award level dumbfuckery. but they sure got me, by them getting confused by a french rugaru written in french and mixing up a few filming dates within range of a few days in a mountain of intel. real zinger there.
youtube
Now the motherfucker can't figure out that jensen only explained his Then, not the second Now he clarified exists, same as about the finale ending Then vs Now. In the exact moment and frame I've told you for 2 years Jensen Ackles fell into hellerdom in. The exact moment. He tweeted it out and 2p0 is crying plugging his ears.
Wow. it's almost like jensen talks to people in real life in capacities you can never pay pass your way to. robbie, also, tweeted it out guys. this is revenge. Sorry you're on the wrong side of karma.
dumb bastard can't figure out nobody falls for his "i ship destiel" shit a week later unengaged and the few that did believe him unfollowed him because his actual audience is wincels and antis, and his game is burned up and now the clock is ticking on hellers that sold out to work with j2 tinhats like wigglebox, all huddling together and pretending their regressive moderate shit is gonna sustain the transition they've all been lying to themselves about.
2p0 has convinced himself if he outright projects Grifter or Conspiracy or Goalpost Moving at everyone else, reality is gonna bend for him but it hasn't yet and it won't. no man, everyone else had eyes and figured it out, you're just head in the sand in denial while Jensen fixes it. Have you accepted this is about learning from his parents yet, you empty skulled life reject?

new anon but this convo reminds me how many diff takes there are on dnf and their dynamic in general, like i've been in various fandoms and rarely is a ship as polarizing as dnf where people can draw completely opposite conclusions from one another! imho it comes down to mental gymnastics most of the time to avoid "tinhatting" or "truthing", when the simplest conclusion seems to be that there is indeed something going on we just don't know the extent of it but the SOMETHING is undeniable
yeah people can get rlly rlly weird about them but i think theres a very stark difference between like. truthing (weird and invasive and digging into stuff that isnt presented to us) vs looking at dnf and everything they do and say to each other and being like Ok this is not normal

Extreme Shipping and Other Celebrity Conspiracy Theories Aren’t Appreciated by the Stars in Many Fandoms
Certain SamCait extreme shippers (ES), former ES, and their allies keep complaining that Outlander cast (like Sam, Cait, Rik, Stephen Walters and Graham) and those associated with the show (like Diana, some of the drivers, Àdhamh Ó Broin, and in the past Terry) don’t understand that shipping is “normal” in fandoms. Furthermore, they claim that the celebrities and people associated with other productions don’t criticize or make fun of their fans the way Outlander cast/ production folks do.
Well, part of the problem is extreme shippers in our fandom aren’t “regular shippers” they’re what other fandoms refer to as tinhatters--the kind of extreme fans who insist that their One True Pairings (OTPs) are real (despite a lot of evidence to the contrary) and come up with conspiracy theories to explain away why their fave celebrities pretend to be in relationships (even marriages) with “fake” significant others (SOs).
Contrary to the claims of certain ES and some of their allies, extreme fans who come up with conspiracy theories and who hate on the SOs of their fave celebrities (and sometimes the celebrities themselves) have been decried by a number of stars. Here are a few.
JOSH HUTCHERSON. Let’s start with Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
source
LOUIS TOMLINSON. Then let’s consider Louis Tomlinson from the band One Direction.
Back in January 2017 when Laura Marano from Radio Disney asked  Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki which words they wanted to keep and which to leave behind in 2016, she discovered that Louis was happy to leave the word “ship” behind:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yup. Louis found the word “ship” to be “a bit cringe.”
And here are a few tweets from a meltdown Louis had about the Larry tinhats in 2012:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this was from a July 2017 article in Metro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same interview was discussed in this article in Seventeen:
Tumblr media
Furthermore, we now have some “Larry” tinhats who think that Louis Tomlinson’s baby is fake. Needless to say, Louis was not thrilled by the rumor, as was made clear in an April  2016 Refinery29 article by Morgan Baila and Tanya Edwards:
Tumblr media
JAMIE DORNAN. Then there’s the Fifty Shades star Jamie Dornan. This February 2017 article in the Independent makes it clear that Jamie is not thrilled with some of the Damie shippers:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. Then there is Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch. The extreme fans in his fandom don’t believe he is really married and has a child. (Update 05.08.20: This post was originally written in 2017; Benedict now has 3 children.)
The following is an excerpt from a November 2016 article in Vanity Fair:
Tumblr media
ROBERT PATTINSON. Finally, there is Robert Pattinson from the Twilight fandom. Here are his comments from a 09.25.15 article in The Hollywood Reporter about the racism hurled at his finacee FKA Twigs by certain extreme “fans”:
Tumblr media
There was also this VIDEO of an 07.25.17 interview with Robert Pattinson on The Howard Stern Show where Pattinson talks about how hard it is to just ignore the nasty comments:
“And even if you think oh you can turn it off or whatever. it’s still like just to know it’s there. It’s like if you know that there’s one room in your house where like if you like listen up against the wall, you hear everyone talking sh*t about you in the next room. Even if you don’t go to that room, if whenever you feel bad about yourself, you’re gonna go down there and like start listening to the whispers.” [emphasis added]
youtube
SAM HEUGHAN AND CAITRIONA BALFE. So maybe its time that certain fans stop being so outraged that Sam, Cait and others associated with Outlander have had public negative reactions to SamCait conspiracy theories and the bashing of Sam’s and Cait’s SOs.
Maybe Sam, Cait and other celebrities are only human, and just like the rest of us humans can be upset when conspiracy theories are spread about their lives and the people they care about are attacked.

Fans need to try and keep in mind that fandom drama doesn't reflect reality. Fandom is basically a soap opera. Every drama, every comment, every look is overanalyzed by fans in every corner and everyone arguing about who is right. For everyone who is trying to stay away from this try to keep that in mind. Especially with all this Jared vs Jensen fans or shipping was etc. If you are upset about the prequel still you are allowed to be. But people are also allowed to move on without being dramatic about it. Like for me, my view of Jensen has forever changed since the show ended. It's his own doing. BUT I am trying to step away from the people that continue to overanalyzing every single thing he or any of the actors does really. Sometimes words comes out wrong. Sometimes fandom twists their words into something else. Just take a goddamn breather people. And I mean everyone. Hellers, J2 tinhats, jensen girls, jared girls, misha fanatics, shippers, wife haters etc. Jfc get some air!

lmao at the little gaslighting anon asking why all of a sudden there's a jared vs jensen thing going on as if aa's haven't been doing this since 2005. very clear to me that aa's and j2 tinhats just aren't used to jared's fans being aggressive for once.
You hit the nail on the head.  Jared fans have always been chill in comparison to AAs and minions, but it’s not the same as being chill-chill, that was the AAs’ first mistakes.  The word “fans” is derived from fanatics who support their [insert] with uncritical devotion.  AAs and JP fans are not equally fanatics, but are fans nonetheless.  During SPN’s run, JP fans had little reason to be aggressive because Sam is the protagonist and Jared was best known out of the cast so they were winning, and then won with “Carry On”.  Sure, Jared’s fans were keeping the peace rather than be aggressive, but let’s be honest, it’s easier to  “keep the peace” when they were winning anyways.  Once the show was over Jared fans no longer need to keep the peace.
When Destiel hellers were at their worst and accused Jensen of homophobia for not supporting their ship, JP fans defended him because hellers were nuts and delusional and entitled.  AAs thought they can have their cake and eat it too: they created the hellers to attack Jared and then Jared’s fans fought hellers to defend Jensen’s name from homophobic slander.  But defending Jensen is not the same as supporting him, that was AAs’ second mistake in conflating the two.   Once the show was over and J2 are doing their own projects, JP fans have no reason to defend Jensen in the messy prequel announcement, much to the shock, shock of AAs.
The third mistake by AAs is their continual insistence of rewriting history.  As you said the Jared vs Jensen thing has been going on since 2005 and before SPN even aired when AAs found out Jensen didn’t have first billing.

The friend of the owner of that account saw Jensen and Misha having a heated talk
". So I asked my friend about it. She agreed to do a Jensen and Misha op with a friend who bought one and was extremely nervous. She said Jensen and Misha got into a bit of a heated talk before ops and afterwards Misha was very annoyed. He refused to smile for their op and acted like he wanted to be elsewhere.  So I glanced through the con tag."
And
"A creation volunteer she’s friendly with said Misha wanted to combine his panel with Jensen’s and Jensen said no way,"
I know, I read that in a wincel blog. My question is: how do you know all that is real and not made up by the OP or the person OP heard of? Do you have any links or reliable sources? Not to mention the fact that this "comes to light" almost 2 weeks after the con. A bit suspicious.
I also heard J2 were the ones who had the fight. Someone post in twitter they had an argument, but still I didn't even believe it because some people (many of them hellers ironically) pointed out the twitter account never posted anything about spn and that person wasn't even in the con, so it was sort of debunked. My point is, at least some hellers are willing to be impartial and acknowledge when something is bullshit, while literally every wincel/J2 tinhat believes everything with zero critical thinking as long as it suit their narratives.
Listen. We don't know what the current situation between Jensen and Misha is right now. They could hate each other or just be nice friends or they could be hopelessly in love with each other. There's just not enough information released publicly (and that makes sense because they don't owe us anything and celebrities don't need to post everything about their personal lifes). Personally, I think they still get on very well.
But we all know the situation between Jensen and Jared. Since Jared 's rant in twitter about the prequel, everybody have realized things weren't doing well between them. I remember that day and the following days, and J2 tinhats were devastated. Their reconciliation posts didn't convince many in the fandom because they clearly contradicted each other (Jared's "we talk often" vs Jensen's "I miss the talks we used to have").
In the denver con, no matter what J2 tinhats say (the "uh Jensen hates Misha because he was so grumpy when Misha huged him", not realizing Jensen always plays grumpy...), you can't ignore the fact that Jensen, in that very same panel, waited for Misha and they left the stage with Jensen's arm on Misha's shoulder. Meanwhile, Jensen literally stormed off from the J2 panel and ignored Jared's tap on his back. No matter what you say, I know you all saw that.
Imagine the same situation reversed: Jensen and Jared's arms on each other's shoulders; Jensen walking off from Misha and ignoring him... I'm sure J2 tinhats would be uncorcking champagne bottles... but... that wasn't what happened, sorry.
Jensen was recently in Austin. I'm sure J2 tinhats were craving for some J2 content: just a pic or a selfie of the 2 together in social media, just hanging out like good friends. Like in the good old times. And it would make sense to post something like that; after the prequelgate, many people doubt their friendship, so it would be the opportunity to tell the world that they are still friends, that they hang out with each other when they have the opportunity.
And yet, nothing. No pictures, no selfies, no instagram stories, not even a mention in their SM or even in Gen or Dee's SM. Nothing.
I know J2 tinhats are very worried. Their ship has crumbled since the prequelgate and there are no sincere and doubtless hints that things have really getting better. But you have to understand that hating Misha and making lies up are not going to change that. Stop focusing your frustration in lies and hate. It would be better for all you to recognise you were wrong, give up your ship, and move on.

A year ago you answered an ask about people hating you for liking Bradley that popped up on a search of mine and you said there that "some Colin fans think you can't like Colin if you don't hate Bradley" and I was wondering why? Like did Bradley do something to Colin? Aren't they friends or at least friendly? There also seems to be some hate for Bradley around the same time period and I was wondering what happened.
Hello!
No, there was no enmity between Bradley and Colin. As far as we know, they were always good friends. Relatively recently, Bradley said that he and Colin don't see each other that often anymore but when they do meet up, they go right back to their old ways, so there is no bad blood between them, just normal life setting them on diverging paths.
As for that whole gigantic mess, what happened is that there was this group of Bradley antis (mostly on Twitter but some spilled on to Tumblr too) who were engaging in mass hysteria, taking harmless things he'd said out of context, giving them the worst possible spin and literally making up things to make him seem like the devil. They made Katie McGrath and Colin Morgan into their mascots and devolved into pure tinhatting and personal RPS fanfiction of how Katie and Colin hate Bradley, how they are disgusted with him and how his attempts to keep in contact with them are annoying to them. Mind you, there is zero evidence of this whatsoever, it was all malicious fantasies on their part. This is where the Colin vs. Bradley nonsense originated from, there was never any actual beef between the two of them that the public knows of. The reason I said what I said was because this particular group of Colin's 'fans' (note the quotation marks) was sending me anti-Bradley anons and when I pointed out the holes in their reasoning, they called me anti-Colin, which is just ????????
According to them, because Bradley was unimpressed with the writing for Arthur's romance with Gwen and vaguely expressed it during filming, of course he was a racist. During the early years of the fandom, rabid Brolin shippers (as in shipping Colin and Bradley, not their characters) who don't know how to behave and have no boundaries stalked and harassed them, their real or rumoured girlfriends, friends and family members. This led to Colin and Bradley avoiding appearing in public together and discussing Merthur as freely as they used to. Of course, this meant that Bradley was a homophobe. This, in turn, meant that all fans of Bradley and Arthur were also racists and homophobes, so these toxic assholes descended in droves to harass fic writers and other content makers into changing their usernames or leaving the platform all together. One beloved content creator was openly dealing with mental health issues and particularly vulnerable and they came to her inbox with the worst kind of bullying, including telling her to kill herself, and eventually driving her out of the fandom. They were awful and it was disgusting.
As a side episode to this dumpster fire, Alexander Vlahos was also a mascot for this particular group for a while there. It does seem that there is at least some bad blood between him and Bradley because at the time, when the Merthur/Brolin shippers were harassing real people, he would not stop fueling it and bringing it up, even after he was asked not to by Bradley and Colin, so Bradley unfollowed him on social media. This, of course, caused the antis to latch on to him as some saint, especially since he indulged their nonsense and got himself involved in the fan war, saying some really mean-spirited things about Bradley and Arthur as a 'joke'. This lasted until he stopped cooperating with their agenda and refuted their pet lesbian!Morgana fan theory, at which point he also became the devil.
During the BLM protests, they went on Bradley's Twitter, Instagram, YT and FB to hurl abuse at him directly because he was a white man and (according to them) not doing enough to be a spokesperson for the movement. Mind you, Bradley had expressed his support for the movement on social media and liked and reblogged posts to this effect, he just never took on an active and visible spokesperson role. He (or his team) also deleted the toxic deluge the antis left in his comments section and blocked the most vocal harassers, which just set them off even more and it was full-on delusional thinking from these people on all social media platforms.
Anyway, I have not encountered any of this bunch in a while now, so I am assuming they grew up, moved on, or got the psychiatric help they so desperately needed. Either that, or I finally managed to block the right people.

Everyone who’s into shipping actors confuses me because I was into Bandom and like That was pretending to be gay on stage for attention. Like boys from early 2000s banda would kiss on stage and wink when asked about their relationship and rake in the clout. Jensen and Misha what? Sat next to each other? Liked each other more than they like Jared?
no i knowwww. my guess is that it's ppl's first stage gays? stage gays being used veryyyyy lightly. it's more like. stage gay (misha) and jensen. "But what about--" i've seen it. dust in comparison to pretty much any set of guys who got on stage and were fake gay to get a response. its so funny there are these INTENSE manifestos to explain like. nothing. a nothing moment. it's mass produced stage gay. nothin on the pioneers of stage gay.
VERY specific experience to have but i watched rtah youtubers for years so obv rpf was big but it was like... a weird ratio of big rpf fandom to fairly small channel so they were aware and just thought it was funny and played it up. and there was an understanding in fan spaces that it was all for goofs. i ran across literally... 3 tinhatters in about 8 years.
vs everyone who cockle tinhats whos like ok im not USUALLY an rpf person but in THIS case it's SO blatant that--just say this is the first time you've bothered to poke ur head into rpf. bc that's what u actually mean! bc there are multiple things that are MUCH more "blatant" tht r just dudes racking up attention.

Hello! I found your blog via you amazingly summarizing all that's going on with the spn drama. Due to my schedules, rl stuff, some of the arcs that didn't vibe with me, my availability to find a place to watch...the rollercoaster I was used to with this fandom was more me binging it in a weekend to going months to over a year without watching it. I still haven't watched the last season(but with a fandom this big it's pretty impossible not be spoiled so I more or less know what happened) BUT oh great one I ask of thee for more information if you have it...other than being busy and whatnot, I'm not really one to keep up with the actors as well. So could you also maybe do a summary of all the stans? I'im seeing terms I haven't seen before. Who is Kelios(sp?)? Hellions?? probably messed it up but like...I guess what are the name of each legion? Who do they have alliance towards? What was their desires? Que paso?!?!?!?
Hi there! 'Some of the arcs that didn't vibe with me' me emotionally quitting Supernatural in Season 7 after they killed Castiel 😂 Anyway I totally get it, I went through the same culture shock mid-last year when I got back into SPN and tried to find where fandom was at! There's really a LOT of lore and content after 15 years though so I'll just do the broad brushstrokes based on my impressions and personal stereotypes PLEASE remember this is oversimplifying groups and individuals to tendencies and I'm very biased! Also important that there are sub-factions within sub-factions - again, I'm simplifying here!
I've also linked to the 'Super-wiki' in terms of some definitions because the Super-wiki has pages for them where the Fandom-wiki does not. Great introduction actually - only in the Supernatural fandom. There are two Supernatural wikis. One, through curation and twitter activity, supports BiBro/Wincest factions and does not support Destiel users. One is more neutral or Destiel-friendly (I don't know that the Fandom wiki has a personality/social media presence per se). You cannot make this up. There is a factional war... within use of fandom wikis.
Destiel faction
People who primarily ship Dean/Cas, love Castiel and (often, although not always) Jack, and the 'found family' of Supernatural as well as the brothers, and like the post s3 seasons too. Hated 15.19 and 15.20 for killing Dean and ignoring the other characters/narrative arc of the show. Nicknamed 'Destihellers' by the Wincest faction as a derogatory term, 'reclaimed' and shortened as 'Hellers', a nickname they use affectionately to describe each other. See more info on nicknames here.
Sometimes also ship ‘Cockles’ (the ship between Misha Collins and Jensen Ackles) although generally speaking they're more respectful of the wives of the actors than J2 shippers, who are notoriously responsible for... a vast series of insane-fan misdemeanours. Historically most were also good at keeping RPF to themselves and not harassing celebrities with it directly, although recently, particularly with younger twitter fans, that has not been the case.
Sub-factions:
The ‘Desticule’ or ‘Destiel tumblr’ - general grouping of Destiel-shipping tumblr users around 20-30 years old, usually LGBT+, most who came back to the show post-15.18 after leaving it for various reasons including getting sick of the queerbaiting. Funniest bitches alive etc. and responsible for the best text posts you’ve ever seen. Can also start stupid discourse and in-group drama when they’re bored.
'POLOL' - People of Lots of Letters, a discord group (of tumblr and twitter users) that ran on the assumption Andrew Dabb was playing a hugely intricate game of 3D chess to do with gnostic symbolism among other things, and would make Destiel canon. Have since had their own factional sub-wars and fallen apart a bit. Some of their meta was and is good and interesting! Some of it was wildly off the mark. Now generally insist that Dabb/the writers were all pushing for Destiel canon and the network is entirely to blame.
Twitter fans (TikTok edition) - younger fans around 18 and younger who (FOR REASONS BEYOND ME) started watching the show around 2018-2020. Definition of 'stans'. Tend to be very loud and aggressive on twitter when Events Happen, which like. I do get, because they've grown up in a completely different media environment and this kind of Dinosaur Politicking around LGBT+ issues is beyond them. Fancam central. Anyway stream #CASTIEL for clear skin!
Twitter fans (AO3 edition) - older fans around 30+ who kept going with the show but either don't have a large tumblr presence or just prefer twitter. A lot of fic writers, GISH-ers, and BNFs in this group. Some of them are very cool and reasonable in their opinions, some of them act like the younger stans. Some of them too accepting of what happened wrt 15.19-20 in my opinion, because, in contrast to the younger twitter stans, they grew up expecting Destiel to NEVER be canon or respected. 'Can't believe we got this far' etc.
Multiship faction
Multishippers or shippers of things not as large as the two main behemoths . Sub-factions based on shipping, e.g. Megstiel and Sastiel. I don't think these groups are very large though, and seem to have very little influence in the Discourse.
Wincest faction
LARGE overlap with the 'BiBro' faction and their opinions, which I'll get to. Ship Sam and Dean romantically. Often pretend to be BiBros on places like twitter and reddit in order for outside groups to take their opinions more seriously. 'Wincesties' etc. are derogatory nicknames given by the Destiel faction.
Sub-factions:
Multiship fans - ship Sam and Dean but respect Castiel/the 'found family'. Politically overlap with the faction of multishippers, I think. I don't have a lot of insight on this group of people honestly, but I know they exist.
Bronlies - the typical BiBro and 'Wincest' shippers most people think of, twitter user 'Kelios' is one of the would-be ringleaders of this faction - typically tend to be older white midwestern women. Historically have been pretty nasty on twitter (leading to Robert Berens, writer who made Destiel canon, occasionally subtweeting Kelios). Also tend to ship 'J2' - and take it very seriously as a legitimate thing that is really real. This is called 'tinhatting'.
BiBro faction
People who think the show should JUST be about the brothers, love Supernatural s1-3 and everything after it should have been just like Supernatural s1-3. Hate Castiel, Jack, and the 'found family'. Largely loved 15.20. Go to literally any comments section on any Supernatural article and You Will Find Them complaining about how the show should just be about the Brothers. Tend to be older, straighter, and more conservative/Republican (and male) fans. (I am aware that the definition of 'BiBro' used to refer to people who just liked the brothers but there's no definitional difference now in the discourse.) The Wincest and BiBro faction are generally much more wealthy than the Destiel faction (they being younger and more diverse/queer/left-leaning in general) and would be the biggest revenue generators at conventions etc.
Sub-factions:
Reddit bros - literally anyone who visits r/supernatural. Well, that's not fair - there are people who post reasonable opinions on there, but it's pretty rare and they get downvoted a lot. Like to talk about 'toxic Destiel fans' 'ruining the show' and how Dean is a straight man who is straight and could never possibly be gay. Might even think the confession was platonic despite all evidence to the contrary. I'm Not Homophobic I Have Gay Friends, But No Gays on MY Show!
Old Guard - group of older fans who overlap strongly with the Wincest faction, but might not necessarily ship Wincest.
GA faction
'General Audience' - These are the group of audience members that aren't 'online' so to speak; most watch the show on TV as a Casual Viewing Experience (are therefore also sometimes referred to as 'casuals'. Mostly their opinions tend towards BiBros, but they have a vast range of baffling views thanks to being Not Online and usually Not caring about Supernatural that much or thinking that deeply about it.
Sub-factions:
People who simply watch Supernatural on TV and then don't think about it very much after that.
I said they weren't 'online' but that's not entirely true; I'd probably classify people on Supernatural Facebook Groups as GA, along with friends of friends who post statuses about how 15.20 was a neat finale that wrapped up the series.
Conclusion
Supernatural is famously the show that appeals to both Republicans and Democrats, literally All Orientations, so there's a WIDE range of factions. However, most warring online boils down to Destiel vs. Wincest/BiBro - the war that started in Season 4 and has simply never ended. In terms of the 'actors' and their stans, in general, Wincest/BiBro fans love Jared, like Jensen, and dislike Misha. Destiel fans love Misha, like Jensen, and dislike Jared. Of course as with everything, there are variations and this is just a generalisation. But that's the summary of it, from my perspective!
This didn't even get into Sam girls, Dean girls and Cas girls. God. Anyway.
Hope that answered your question, anon!

livelifecheshire replied to your post “Why do larries even care if Louis and Harry are gay or not. It's not...”
So essentially your saying antis problem isn't with the idea of Larry but with the actions and the opinions of some of the more hardcore and outspoken Larry believers ?
While I would disagree that it is "some of the more hardcore and outspoken" because I can't think of a larry believer (as opposed to shipper) that doesn't hold harmful opinions about how Louis is conducting and presenting his life and how much control he has over it: yes? I thought it was clear that the problem for antis was larrie behavior, and that we have stated that many times. But larrie behavior is simply larrie belief made manifest.
If one hold these beliefs - that Louis is not in control of his life, that he is forced to lie about every aspect of it as he promotes his career - but has no inclination to do anything but observe without comment, I suppose that person wouldn't fall into that category, but who does? The closest I've seen are people who ignore and refuse to share what Louis does of his girlfriend or son, but are quick to point out what secret messaging they think he's sharing with larries to be understood.

Love Fast Los Angeles Readthrough: Chapters 13-18
Hooookay so. I feel like most of this book is just Al running around LA and trying to get in Stella's pants and just being generally clueless which I guess is A Thing for Davey's characters. But I have a lot of questions about real-life people in this book and who does and does not get to keep their real name. We'll get to that.
After leaving the Pink Corvette gig, Al and Sky end up in a CVS parking lot where she immediately calls in a prescription because she's freaking out and the Mythicals have her meds. When Al goes inside to pick them up he finds out they're actually prescribed under the name Emily Golden. Al has a towel in his car that he stole from the Ark that is monogrammed 'JG.' NO REASON THESE TWO FACTS ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER I'M SURE, CARRY ON.
There's some awkward almost-sex and a weird hand job but to Al's credit, when he realizes Sky is not into it at all he loses his interest as well and takes her home (throwback to Pop Kids when Stella was high well past the point of being able to consent and had several guys going at her at once!!! That was fucked!!!).
Unrelated to anything, Davey proves to be way more up to date with what the kids like because he mentions Al using VSCO and this book came out in 2017 and I still don't really know what VSCO is, so. Yeah. I'm too old for all these newfangled apps.
I think it's time to talk about the use of real celebrity names vs making up pseudonyms. Stella is apparently banging James Franco, and he's just... that's his Whole Ass Name. He's just in this book (being very on brand for James Franco AS IT TURNS OUT). Al has talked about the pop superfame he's hooked up with and featured on his site, Marlena Lopez before, ands she's obviously meant to be Selena Gomez. I say 'obviously' because it is pretty clear before this but ALSO there is definitely a slip-up on page 106, the beginning of chapter 14:
"As I dug my hand into a drift, Marlena started telling Taylor while we should have a threesome. Fully agreeing with her points, I packed a snowball and pegged Terry Richardson in the center of his chest. He retaliated. Taylor pulled Selena from the war and after getting pegged twice in the head, I called a truce." (106)
So I guess somebody missed one in the Find-And-Replace passover this book got.
So, anyway, Marlena/Selena gets a pseudonym, but James Franco is just there. And Alexa Chung hangs around the Effs too like she's just another character in this book and not an Actual Person? Every time Al posts her picture he gets attacked in the comments by someone named @snowsimian which is so funny because she dated Alex Turner of... The Arctic Monkeys.
And then there's Taylor Swift. Of all the people to use a real name, it's the notoriously litigious Taylor Swift? (Full disclosure I support everything T. Swift has done in the name of protecting her work and the rights of artists. Except when she tried to trademark the phrase 'shake it off.' But her battles with Apple Music and with Scooter Braun? I am HERE FOR. But like. My girl likes to sue). The object of obsession of one of THE most rabid fanbases I've ever seen online? And whom Davey also decides to write as closeted?? Davey really said 'fuck it' and chose violence here. There is so much to unpack here!!! I want to alert the Swifties to the whole chunk of chapter 16 where Al instigates a car chase with Taylor Swift and an unnamed short-haired (butch??) lady because he sees them kissing. The tinhats would definitely take it as confirmation that Taylor is in fact gay (and that whatever ship name they had for her and Cara Delivgne or however you spell it was real) and the rest would ABSOLUTEY flood Davey's mentions with nonsense and/or alert Taylor herself and all hell would break loose and I live for that chaos. I just want to know who decided Selena can't be Selena in this book but Taylor can just straight up be Taylor.
Anyway, Sky doesn't get the role in Terror Cake. A model got it, because the directors wanted a more "all American" look so they cast... a blonde Australian. Davey really hates Hollywood lmao.
So Al and Sky make loose plans to go to Disneyland, they talk about Club 33 which makes me wonder... is Davey a member? I have questions. Then as Al is leaving, he spots Score arriving. Sky had mentioned a "meeting" she forgot about and seemed surprised that whoever this meeting was with got there so fast, and Al makes 0 connections here, even after The Barbie says '"You know Sky talks to him right?" she says while passing the chick her empty glass. "Seems like they're fucking"' (134). He assumes she means Jamie Shannon. I DO NOT!!!!! Also they're shopping for an engagement ring for Al to give Sky in this scene because Al has no chill at all.
Will Al ever figure out what's up with Sky? Will he learn to pick up on a single hint, ever, about anything? Why is Taylor Swift just IN THIS BOOK?
We may or may not find the answer to one or two of those by the end of this book.
