I know it probably seems really fucking stupid because I'm 23, I'm a full grown adult, but cartoons are my special interest and I hate when studios act like cartoons especially are nothing and keep stupid live action shows that make no sense(Riverdale). I'm still mad about warner brothers purge of cartoons from hbo max last year and I will never get over Disney canceling the owl house just to see how popular it is now and be like "oh maybe that wasn't a good idea" and now Netflix canceling inside job. Also, maybe coincidentally, maybe not, but all of the shows being canceled/ purged are shows LOVED by neurodivergent people who can relate to the main characters because the main characters are also coded as ND

Not just any good show. A show that, for all it's silly dirty jokes, gore, swears, and satire, is at it's core about connection, love, and healing. And The Deep State (I had to). A show that ended, not in a blaze of glory or with a peaceful, satisfying conclusion, but with a cliffhanger which had the lead making the biggest, most heartbreaking decision of her life, the results and consequences of which we will likely never get to see. Inside Job was something else. It could have easily fallen back on the crutch of over the top bloody violence and shock humor like so many adult animated series before it, but, while it did use those elements, its strength was always in the story it told and the characters it gave life to. A story of trying and failing and trying and succeeding to making bonds with people, a story of finding love in the darkest of places, a story of healing from the wrongs done to you in the past that shaped who you are now. A story that was way deeper and more emotionally damaging than it had ANY right to be. Then again, that's what you get when the the showrunner and executive producers came from shows like Gravity Falls and Bojack Horseman. Thank you Shion, Alex, and Mike, for the story you created and gave to us. Thank you Lizzy, Clark, Christian, Adam, Tisha, Brett, John, Bobby, Andy, Chris, and everyone else who brought the characters to life through their brilliant voices. Thank you to the writers, and the animators, and everyone else behind the scenes who made us laugh and love and cry with these characters and these stories. Thank you, Inside Job. Thank you.

Rewatching Inside Job again and just thinking about how great the ending is in a sense of what it set up and ended. It tied up so many things but also made up so much room for different and new opportunities.

Like Rand and JR are in Shadow Prison, allowing Reagan to be the head of cognito. They aren’t super crucial to the plot but they still can contribute to the story in different ways (ex Reagan going to them (mainly Rand) for advice or the robes using them as bait/threats).

It introduced obviously the whole Robes as antagonists and a mystery to be solved, while also introducing a new dynamic between the main Gang and the different secret societies. It also introduced a really interesting place for Reagan as a character, having to be an actual leader on her own, limited influence from her parents, and, ofc, how she would deal with Appleton. Also Brett! Brett in Appleton showed a completely different side of him- a leader with a lot more confidence in himself but still needing the support of a team or others around him. It would have been great too to see how he could grow as a leader and a person. Like you can tell how much Shion wanted to grow these two characters and help them find happiness.

(The scene where Reagan tells Brett she’s running away is so good AHHH. The silence and how he just says “I got this” after looking at her injury, her deadlines, and her medication and how this job will kill her if she keeps going like this. This issue was never tied up or addressed and it would have been so amazing to see Reagan working in a place where she has everything she wants but so much to prove and so much work + the grief from Ron and Rand, how would she handle it??)

I also feel like, had the show gotten the chance to exist in its finality, I’m sure there would be so many callbacks from the earlier episodes. Nostalgia Brett would be powered up for the series finale, The Flat Earther guy would return as king of the mole men, and I’m sure even Ron would find a way to come back whether it be as just a reminder rod what could have been or as something more.

It was such a good ending to set up for so much. I can’t stand that it’s cancelled and I need some more fandom content. How many fanfictions can one gal read. Ugh, everyday I’m begging someone to bring this show back.

The animation industry has been so fucked over these past couple years (the cancellation of The Owl House, Infinity Train, the HBOmax animation purge, just to name a few)

This seems to be the last straw for a lot of people, and it certainly is for me. Inside Job was one of Netflix’s top shows (not just top out of the animated stuff on Netflix, one of the top shows overall). It was renewed for a second season due to this popularity, so there should have been no reason to unrenew the show now.

Petitions haven’t worked in the past, I get it. I was one of those people who petitioned for months to get Infinity Train back up and running, to no avail. I get it, this sucks, and there’s very little we can do about it.

That said, please try and spread the news about this petition, or any other petitions you see. While there is very little hope for the show right now, there will be no hope at all unless we try to do something about it now. We need to make our voices heard.

So I say again one more time, please take a few seconds out of your day to sign the petition, and if you are able to, please share and reblog it as well. Spread awareness. Maybe we’ll be able to accomplish something. We’ll never know if we don’t try.
