These two brought the exact same energy to their respective series.

Both of them were way over the top and a little ridiculous and when the plan went wrong, they folded like lawn chairs.

And I'm not gonna lie, imagining Mr. Compress and other LoV members doing this bit for no apparent reason is a thought that occasionally has free tenancy in my head.

Earlier this month I performed in an anime music concert where cosplay was encouraged for both musicians and audience - and in my infinite wisdom and sense, I decided that it would be a fantastic idea to go as Shingen Kishitani from Durarara!! No, I didn't take it off the entire time, because Shingen Kishitani wouldn't have removed his mask just to play a horn either. [Okay, so maybe I had far more enthusiasm than sense, especially since (1) I do not craft, and (2) I've never even cosplayed, what was I even thinking. I may have also glued my fingers together more than once while making the mask. Layers of skin were lost.] [Said mask was made with a filter that was magnetically attached and so could be removed for playing. Originally the filter consisted of a second - opaque white mask filter - layer, but I came down with a nasty case of bronchitis just days before the concert, and decided to take it out so that I could breathe more easily when I wasn't playing. No, playing when you're periodically expelling bits of lung through your mouth isn't exactly fun either.] [No, I didn't wear gloves. I did wear them during dress rehearsal.... for all of five minutes before I realised I couldn't play in them, and frantically ripped them off the next time I had enough bars of rest. In my addled state, I forgot to put them back on for photos. Sigh.] The very artistic 'action' photo at the bottom taken by iamo_ody (whose photos of the concert are fantastic) and used with their kind permission, because I love how it makes me look like a cryptid sighting. My friends in the top right photo are missing their faces to protect their privacy.

Man, Shingen may be fun, but he really is a massive dick. He's totally dissonant about Izaya's attempts to cause widespread pain and chaos, and he talks about Celty like she's a lab experiment rather than his presumptive to-be daughter-in-law. Or hell, just someone who he knows has feelings and lived with for over a decade.

I've seen some people wonder why Celty doesn't like Shingen despite how similar he is to Shinra. I think it's pretty obvious why, honestly.

I feel like whenever Emilia gets excited and starts bouncing up and down Shingen joins her xDD

Kuzuhara Kinnosuke (the traffic cop) was moved to a station in Ikebukurou just so somebody could keep up with Celty. Pretty sure this is just an excuse for him not being around earlier but hey! He's here now.

Celty likes reading horror manga but it's also terribly scared of their contents, but this shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone. More importantly, Shinra compares her to a pet; because there's no such thing as a pure and sweet relationship in Durarara.

Shingen lives right next to Shinra. Literally. Not in the same apartment, but right next to them.

Oh and Celty actually retains some memories of Ireland and other fairies; at least 120 years worth, though she has older memories they're very vague. Also Canon confirmation that night visions (what are those?) Pixies and leanan sídhe exist.

Stayed up way too late looking at seiyuu filmography (Daisuke Ono and Hiroshi Kamiya to be exact), then switched to Akio Otsuka because I wasn't familiar with his work but actually I was.

It's Nebula from Narita Ryohgo's work. The two characters specifically mentioned are an aloof woman who is Yagiri Namie and the guy in a gas mask is Kishitani Shingen

They are both in Durarara, and neither of them is morally fucked up at all

6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

Everything about Sinéad in silent treasures. She grew up in New York, and her family is quite... convoluted. She considers herself Korean-Irish-American mostly, but it's a bit more complicated. Her boyfriend is a thai crime lord she met while traveling the world, and they live together, and it'll take them forever to actually get married. Sinéad absolutely has no fear (dealing with assholes like the Great Leader at least) and is terrifying, something she inherited from her biological father.

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

I'll always be proud of the work I put into The Case Files Of The Desire Agency. I was doing the most about how to adapt the Vamp! worldbuilding, and everyone's roles in it. I could probably work more on it, and maybe have them actually interact with Vamp!ires next time.

Also Tales from the Cyberse Court. ONE DAY. ONE DAY I'LL GET BACK TO IT AND SORT IT OUT but Spectre is next and he is. Difficult. To Me.

Shingen's just talking to himself on his private/non-public Twitter, which Shinra convinced him to make, and Tsukumoya pops in as if it's public and they just start riffing off of each other and it's just priceless.

He's just a jerk to Shinra because Shinra wants him to pay what he owes, Celty defends Shinra, Shingen is like "why are you defending him, are you riding his baloney pony?"

Man. As far as Narita parents go, Shingen may be one of the better ones, but he's still a massive douchebag
