🌸- What's this OC's favorite and least favorite color?
Hunter’s favorite color is red, especially a deep dark red like burgundy. They also have a fondness for the colors black and navy blue. Hunter’s least favorite color is white. It’s too sterile a color and reminds Hunter of their death.
🌼- What's your favorite thing about this OC?
I really like that Hunter is straight-up feral! Blue and Rooney both play by the rules to some extent and always do the right thing. They never really let loose. Meanwhile, Hunter is like fuck the rules! Fuck doing the right thing! I’m out for vengeance! It’s a really nice difference, and it makes Hunter a lot of fun to write. Unfortunately, Hunter’s feral nature can be a double-edged sword as Hunter struggles to connect with others on a deeper level.
💐- Where is this OC's favorite place to relax?
Generally, Hunter likes to be alone when they relax. Sometimes, they need to get away from people to fully decompress. Pre-death, Hunter would relax in their apartment alone. Post-death, it’s wherever they can find some alone time. That can be their apartment, wherever they are staying for a mission, or the local gym.
Hunter also finds Wesker’s lab to be relaxing when he is there. However, Hunter only finds his lab relaxing after they grow close to Wesker and start to trust him.
🌴- Who is this OC's favorite person? (Can be another OC, a fictional character, a celebrity, anyone.)
Sharky 100%.
Blue absolutely adores Sharky! Sometimes, they kinda wonder where Sharky has been their whole life. Blue loves Sharky’s sense of humor and his willingness to go along with their wild schemes. They also love that trouble seems to follow Sharky in the same way it follows them. Blue isn’t obsessed with fire the same way Sharky is, but they have no problem playing with fire as long as it is done responsibly.
🍁- What's this OC's favorite genre of movies/tv-shows/books/etc?
Blue loves a good comedy, but it has to be a smart comedy. They’re not really interested in a comedy that makes fun of other people in a mean-spirited way. Blue also has a soft spot for nature documentaries and books on nature. Considering they don’t watch a lot of movies/tv or read, they find it easier to focus on things that are related to their passions.
🍂- What music does this OC like?
John Denver.
Blue is a HUGE John Denver fan. One of the things that sucks most about the radio in Hope County is that there is no John Denver. They have been looking all over the county for John Denver Vinyls for Wheaty to play on the radio.
Besides John Denver, Blue is into older country and indie music. (They absolutely hate Bro-Country.) When originally creating Blue, I imagined Woody Guthrie as one of their favorite artists, and I still think Blue would like Woody Guthrie. They’re also really into Brandi Carlile.
🌲- What is this OC's greatest strength and weakness?
Rooney’s greatest strength is their determination. Sheer determination is what got Rooney through most of the events in the Mass Effect Trilogy. No matter how bleak things look, Rooney just powers on, determined to see the fight with the Reapers to the end. They’re determined to see the galaxy free of their reapers. They’re determined to see their loved ones safe and a bright future for the galaxy.
Rooney’s greatest weakness is how critical they tend to be of themself. Rooney holds themself to a high standard, much higher than they hold anyone else. They know they have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders, especially by the time of ME3. In their mind, they have to be the best; they don’t have the luxury of making mistakes. Rooney puts a lot of pressure on themself to succeed and can be harsh on themself when they don’t meet expectations.
🌾- How does this OC get along with people they just met?
Rooney tends to scare people on first impression. Their intense demeanor and perpetual frown give off an aura of unfriendliness, and Rooney seems cold. However, that usually changes within a few minutes. After a few minutes, most citizens of the galaxy find Rooney to be rather thoughtful and polite, if not quiet. Most people usually get along with Rooney.
If you are one of Rooney’s enemies, usually someone trying to hurt others, especially those considered innocent, Rooney is downright terrifying.
🌟- Is this OC good at expressing themself through words or do they have to use other means?
Yes, Rooney is very good with their words. They have no problem, explaining to others how they feel or what they might be thinking. Rooney is someone who is often careful with their words and tends to think through the things they are going to say. They do not say words carelessly, except under certain circumstances. Rooney is also able to talk down people in stressful or combat situations. During one of their visits to the Citadel, Rooney was able to talk down another survivor of the Mindoir attack from hurting herself or someone else. In their final moments, Rooney was also able to talk down the Illusive Man and Saren from hurting anyone else.

Yuliana Shepard
- religion was kinda weird growing up bc her moms side of the family is extremely catholic and her dads side, well her dad ‘converted’ to catholicism but her aunt and grandma on that side are pagan, Yuli’s not really religious but she leans more towards following after her paternal grandmothers faith
- even though it’s been 13 years Yuli still gets migraines from a head injury she got when Mindoir was attacked
Jaliyah Ryder
- Jaliyah got her tattoo when she was 18 on a dare from Scott,but she also knew Alec would absolutely hate it and that was 90% of the reason she did
- the twins got a puppy for their 10th birthday, a yellow lab they named Snicker who they had to give to Ellen’s sister before they left on the Hyperion, Jaliyah still misses him sometimes
Bonus 1 Scottford fact
- Jaliyah teases Scott about being 2 minutes older than him but he constantly teases her for being smaller than him, if he feels she’s getting too bossy he picks her up and carries her around for a while just doing normal stuff just with his sister thrown over his shoulder, the longest he’s been able to carry her around before getting kneed in the face is 13 minutes
Vireo Ryder
- Vee was never close to Alec, he was distant and not super interested in his own kids, but after he fucked up the Ryder name and basically ruined her career she hates him and resents SAM for being the reason her father was discharged, even after learning why her dad was so desperate to perfect SAM she never lets go of those angry feelings
- she tells everyone she didn’t bring anything from the milky way, but she did a prothean artifact that her team gave her as a good luck present when she had to leave, it was the first artifact they found when she joined them, Jaal is the only person she ever shows it to

By far the best part of Unit Bravo’s warehouse base being so close to Wayhaven is its gym.
2. Her Scarlet Touch (Avita/Cullen, Dragon Age)
Cullen can’t remember the last time he was this nervous.
3. the coldest winter, the brightest spring (Emma/Joel, The Last of Us)
Emma’s first memory is of her mama explaining why a new scar had shown up on her knee overnight, how it meant her soulmate had gotten hurt but was okay, that it’s a sign from God that they’re going to find each other one day.

Heatwaves are one thing when Alice gets to sit at home, but they’re another thing altogether when she has to run patrols.

Sharky knows the cult’s been up to some real nasty shit lately, and he’s kinda been expecting it to happen, because as cool as it is that their leader gets to walk around without a shirt all the time, it’s still pretty fuckin’ weird to have a group of people move more than 2,000 miles cross-country to live on a compound together, and if Charlemagne Victor Boshaw could pick up on that right away, he doesn’t know what took everyone else so fuckin’ long.

Avery’s halfway through her third reading of an article her doctor gave her about why the new synthetic DNA that had been found mixed with most humans after the end of the Reaper War had made the most popular contraceptive implants less effective when her omnitool chimes with James’ special chime.

Hazel Shepard can’t focus on anything Hackett is saying to her, his voice a constant rumble in her ear.

Mattie’s shaking almost too hard to hold the rifle Burke thrust into her hands.

When he thinks about how touchy-feely she usually is, with the massages and the cuddles and the shoulders bumping by their campfires, Sharky knows he shouldn’t be as surprised as he feels when Mattie pushes right up against him in the bed in the cabin they’re staying in for the night, squirming until the blankets aren’t between them and she can tuck her body as tight against his as she can manage.
11. Jealousy Looks Good On You (Alice/Staci, Far Cry 5, gift fic)
There’s a girl flirting with Staci at the bar.
12. A Vancouver Halloween (Allie/Kaidan, Mass Effect, gift fic)
Kaidan knows, logically, that he hasn’t been away from earth for all that long.

The Joker comic I talked about is finally here!
I can't lie, I was pretty disappointed with how the reunion with Joker went in ME2. Out of all the characters, his should have been the most emotionally impactful (he saw Shepard die!!) yet all we got was "Sup?" as though Joker wouldn't have spent the 2 years dealing with insane survivor's guilt. Well to that I say pthhbt. My Shepard would have been beside herself seeing him again for the first time, so he's getting hugged whether he likes it or not.
Also while this is technically part of my ongoing Shakarian comic, please feel free to interpret this as romantic as well as platonic.

OC Name Meanings
Hey Everyone, I was tagged by @sstewyhosseini, @natesofrellis, @thomrainer, @socially-awkward-skeleton, @marivenah, and @nuclearstorms to share the meaning of my OC names and the reason I chose their names! Thank you all for tagging me!

Note: I did this for Blue and Rooney previously, but I included them after Hunter and Sawyer with an explanation for both.
Hunter (First Name): "Someone who hunts". From an occupational English surname for a hunter, derived from Old English hunta.
Delaney (Last Name): Anglicized form of Irish Ó Dubhshláine meaning "descendant of Dubhshláine". Derived from Old Irish dub "dark, black" and either slán "challenge, defiance" or Sláine, the Irish name of the River Slaney
Reason: I wanted a name for Hunter that would symbolize their main motivation, which is to hunt down everyone involved in their death. While it is on the nose, I think the name "Hunter" suits them well. It's no nonsense and to the point, like Hunter is. They're blunt to a fault at times. Their last name works as well, considering their black hair, and that Hunter technically defied death by coming back to life because of their virus.
Sawyer Beaumont (Sorry, no banner yet!)
Sawyer (First Name): From an English surname meaning "sawer of wood".
Beaumont (Last Name): From French place names derived from beau "beautiful" and mont "mountain".
Reason: I knew I wanted a name that started with 'S' for Sawyer, but I didn't have a specific one in mind. When I saw the name "Sawyer", I knew it was the name for them. Also, I think the last name "Beaumont" just sounds cool as hell with "Sawyer". Sorry everybody. Sometimes, I have deep reasons, and other times, I just genuinely like a name. (It's also possible that as I flesh Sawyer out that I might have more of an explanation.)
Blue (Nickname): A shortening of their childhood nickname, Blue Jay. Most people call them Blue.
Blue Jay (Nickname): A nickname given to them by their mother after the bird. Only their grandpa, mother, stepfather, Eric, Nadia, and their goddaughter, Christina are allowed to call them Blue Jay. This nickname is reserved for people Blue considers family. Grace, Sharky, Joseph, and the Ryes are also allowed to call them Blue Jay later on in Blue's canon.
Jay (First Name): In English, the name Jay is derived from Latin, meaning "To rejoice". It is a short form of names beginning with the letter J, such as James or Jason.
Murphy (Last Name): Murphy is an anglicized form of Irish Ó Murchadha meaning "descendant of Murchadh". Murchadh means "sea battle", derived from Old Irish muir "sea" and cath "battle".
Reason: I came up with the name "Blue" first. I knew Blue was the kind of character to have a rather unusual name. However, considering Blue was born in rural West Virginia in the 1980s, it was unlikely for them to be named "Blue". Instead, I started looking at names, and when I came upon the name "Jay", I knew I had a way to make it work. As for "Murphy", I just wanted a common last name, and it works well with their first name.
Rooney (First Name): Rooney is a reduced Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Ruanaidh ‘descendant of Ruanadh’, a byname meaning ‘champion’. (Pretty fitting for them, especially after what Rooney goes through.)
Shepard (Last Name): Shepard is an Occupational name meaning "shepherd, sheep herder", from Old English sceaphyrde.
Reason: As you know, Shepard is canonically the player character's last name in the Mass Effect games. Bioware gave them the last name Shepard as an homage to Alan Shepard, a famous astronaut. As for "Rooney", I have a sentimental attachment to that name. After finding out what "Rooney" meant, I thought it fit Shepard perfectly.

More for the WIP Guessing Game
Look: (Nyx and Kaidan, once more, because I’m predictable--this is a conversation that happens after ME1 before they head back out for the new tour)
"We'll work it out," Kaidan said confidently. "Admittedly it will be difficult. The idea of not being able touch you just because the mood strikes me, of even having to change the way I look at you. But--" He moved and sat opposite her on the edge of the table and set his hands on either side of her neck, his thumbs stroking her jaw. "I'd do anything for you. I love you, Nyx."
(I had to add an extra one for this word ... Sharky and Tayen--while I think I’ve posted pieces of this one, it is still in my edit box.)
Sharky shook his head at her. “Nah.” Then he ran his tongue along the length of her neck, capturing a few water droplets and sparking a new marathon of goosebumps that ran down one side of her body. “I got this,” he announced, spinning his cap around backwards. The serious look on his face was too adorable not to indulge.
Stars: (A WIP for Amaryn, my Jedi Knight, and Doc)
Doc leaned in the door way, watching. He still found it fascinating—she sat cross legged, hovering a few inches above the ground. Her robes still rested upon the floor of her cabin. Amaryn always faced the window, looking out upon the stars. A soft glow emanated from her person as she communed with the Force. It was still one of the strangest single abilities he’d seen. Her ebony red hair curled down her back, blotting out the light that consumed her.
