Welcome to the 'Best Character with [X] surname' polls!

This is where I take several characters from different Chinese media (mostly cnovels and cdrama) and run a poll on which one is the 'best'. What does best mean? It's up to you! Whether you love them, are intrigued by their characters, love to hate them, or they're your '2 second blorbos whose personality you made up wholesale', these are all reasons for you to vote for your favs!

NB: the surnames are not exactly the same in all the cases, as often they will be a different character. I am, however, grouping them all together otherwise things got more complicated.

These are the references that we sent to Stes before we commissioned her. We just thought it was neat to share <3

For the general silhouette and cut of the clothes, we had references of paintings & sculptures from the Southern-Northern Dynasty and early Sui Dynasty. The clothing patterns are inspired by the characters’ names (waves from Gu Hengbo’s “bo” and clouds from Yuan Zixiao’s “xiao”).

Gu Hengbo’s hairstyle is taken directly from the novel, described as a high bun held up with strings of jade beads; Yuan Zixao’s hairstyle is a simple period-appropriate topknot that allows for easy maintenance during travels.

Gu Hengbo’s sword, Tian Wei Shei Chun, is based on a replica of a sword forged in the 6th century; the charm on the sword hilt is a traditional Chinese bow that we decided is made by Yuan Ying for his shimei.

Yuan Zixiao’s fingertips are stained with ink due to her role as an archivist; the water and cloud motifs in the background are inspired by illustrations from the Shan Hai Jing, emphasizing the distance and yearning between the two characters

Đặc sản chè Tà Xùa được đóng gói cẩn thận

Rượu đinh lăng

Theo Đông Y, rượu đinh lăng, lá đinh lăng, rễ đinh lăng có tác dụng nhiều để giảm căng thẳng, mệt mỏi, tăng cường sinh lực, tăng cường hệ thần kinh, cải thiện trí nhớ và bồi bổ thêm nhiều dung tích khí huyết, lưu thông máu chống nhồi máu cơ tim cho người cao tuổi. Thế nên đây là sản phẩm cực kỳ an toàn và đáng mua làm quà cho người tiêu dùng.

Rễ đinh lăng, củ đinh lăng thường được phơi khô, rửa sạch và dùng tươi hoặc phơi khô trong các bài thuốc thang, thuốc hãm và bài thuốc ngâm rượu là bài thuốc thường được sử dụng.

Cách sử dụng rượu đinh lăng: Rượu đinh lăng qua thời gian ngâm trong khoảng 3 đến 6 tháng là có thể đem đến sử dụng. Rượu đinh lăng có tác dụng chăm sóc sức khỏe

Dù là thảo dược tốt cho sức khỏe nhưng không thể sử dụng lạm dụng được. Nếu như lạm dụng quá mức quy định thảo dược đinh lăng này có thể được gây ra nhiều rủi ro nguy hiểm và tác dụng ảnh hưởng không mong muốn. Theo những lý thuyết ban đầu thì chỉ sử dụng rượu đinh lăng nhẹ (dao động là 30 độ), sử dụng được 1 – 2 ly nhỏ/ ngày hoặc nếu thêm một chút thì chỉ dùng 3 ly nhỏ/ ngày đối với người bị suy nhược, mệt mỏi quá nhiều do lao động nặng nhọc. Với người lớn tuổi thì chỉ nên uống 1 ly/ 1 ngày, tùy thuộc các bệnh nền.

Archaeological findings showed that delicacies resembling the shape of dumpling had appeared in China since the Spring and Autumn period, called the "laowan." The custom of eating dumplings during the Spring Festival in the northern region is said to commemorate Zhang Zhongjing, the Medical Saint of the Eastern Han dynasty, and has existed for over 1,800 years. On the first day of the lunar year, a type of boiled delicacy called "bian shi" enjoyed by emperors of the Ming dynasty and the "zhu bo bo" in the palace of the Qing dynasty are all dumplings.

Unlike the Ming dynasty, it is said that Emperor Taizu of Qing established a family rule that the emperor must eat vegetarian dumplings on the first day of the Lunar New Year to honour the innocent lives lost in wars. In the book "Celebrate the Spring Festival in the Forbidden City" it's said that vegetarian dumplings in the Qing palace were mainly filled with dried vegetables, including little hogweed, citron daylily, jelly ears, mushrooms, sliced bamboo shoots, and seitan. According to other research materials, dried tofu and eggs were also included. They had to be wrapped before midnight on New Year's Eve and boiled after midnight so they may be ready for the New Year.

An ancient traditional folk custom in China, legend has it that Zhang Daoling of the Eastern Han dynasty held a lamp-lighting ceremony in Sichuan 1,800 years ago from now, and it is the archetype of China's original lantern carnival. Of all lantern carnivals in China, the most grandiose is the one held at the Lantern Festival. In the records about the Sui dynasty in the "Comprehensive Mirror in Aid of Governance", Emperor Yang of Sui set a place for around a hundred kinds of performance at Duanmen Street in a 5,000-step radius of the place, almost 18,000 musicians were playing instruments. The sound of music could be heard from dozens of Li away. The event lasted from dusk until dawn, with large amounts of candles and lights illuminating the night sky. The festival lasted for an entire month and cost a significant amount of money.

It can be said that the Lantern Festival has been a national celebration in China since ancient times. Originated in the Qin and Han dynasties., it was a form of Han Chinese puppetry. Most of the string puppets in Quanzhou, Fujian are about 2.2 Chi in length. They are beautifully crafted and vividly made. They are pulled by 30 or more suspended strings or wires and require a high level of skill in handling. It is one of China's most difficult traditional puppet shows.

Paper cutting

One of the oldest folk arts of the Han Chinese. The art of paper-cutting was included on the first national list of intangible cultural heritage by the State Council in May 2006. In September 2009, it was listed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Shadow play

Chinese shadow play began in Han and flourished in Tang. Plain paper was used in the early Song dynasty, and later on, lustrous sheepskin was adopted. In the Yuan dynasty, shadow puppetry spread overseas. Later generations used animal skins and cardboard to make shadow puppets, which were manipulated behind a curtain with percussion and string instruments to perform a variety of shows based on legends and folklore.

Suzhou-style Wonton

Suzhou-style Pan Fried Buns are known for its thin skin that wouldn't break or burnt. Baked after lightly leavened, full of fresh and juicy filling and soup, soft on the top and crispy on the bottom.

Hôm nay đi hái Cherry zui ghê.

Nay mình có mối mới rồi. Tính ra cũng có nhiều người thích mình. Để kể nghe nè.

Gần nhà chị Nặng thì có Shan thích mình, ổng còn đòi cưới mình. Mình thấy ổng rất hoàn hảo, thông mình, ít nói, đàn ông chính hiệu, tự xây dựng mọi thứ trong nhà. Điều duy nhất bother tui chính là ổng hơn 40 tuổi. Ổng già rùi, với rào cản ngông ngữ nên hông nói chuyện được nhiều. Và ổng cũng có vẻ chỉ là hông gặp gái nhiều nên khi có người chịu nói chuyện với ổng như mình nên là ổng thích luôn. Mà mình thì không thích mấy người có ít sự lựa chọn, bởi vì họ gặp ít người nên không còn cách nào khác họ phải chọn trong số ít ỏi đó.

Thứ 2 là anh Trung. Ảnh thích mình, mình không biết đến cỡ nào nhưng ảnh thích mình. Nếu biết mình có người yêu thì chắc ảnh sẽ là người buồn nhất. Nhưng ảnh quá ít nói, không thú vị lắm. Mình nói gì ảnh cũng đồng ý, nói chuyện với ảnh thì mình phải suy nghĩ nhiều. Mặc dù hai đứa có nhiều điểm chung, như là chí cầu tiến, làm IT, thích đọc sách, trầm lắng, thích đi bảo tàng,... nhưng thôi mình sẽ không bao giờ thích ảnh đâu.

Khánh, thanh niên mình gặp ở nhà hắn. Mới vô mình đã thấy người đẹp trai dã man, lại siêu giàu. Hắn cũng có vẻ thích mình, toàn thả thính mình không à. Nhưng mình bị ngại, huhu, biết là không nên thế, nhưng mình ngại. Có điều hắn dễ thương, nói nhiều, là tâm điểm sự chú ý, nhưng tính mình trầm lắng hơn, nên mình sợ không hợp nhau. Mình thích một cái gì đó cân bằng.

Khoa, thanh niên xàm lờ nhất năm. Nhưng thích đọc sách, học y, thích netflix and chill, thanh niên này đúng chóc gu của mình. Không quá nhạt, thanh niên này xàm dã man, và tính mình cũng xàm y chang, và nếu so sánh với crush Bảo lạnh lùng xàm nhất công ty và nyc Khang của mình thì nghĩ lại đúng là mình toàn thích mấy đứa xàm. Mà lạ là mình cũng siêu xàm. Mà mấy đứa xàm lại hướng nội. Thanh niên này thông minh, học giỏi. Mình nghĩ là mình thích thanh niên này ghê, còn hắn thích mình không thì mình lại không biết. Hắn xàm để xàm chung với mình, nhưng có những lúc say sưa trầm lắng để hai đứa deep deep với nhau hoặc đôi khi chỉ cần ngồi bên cạnh nhau im lặng là đủ. Mình thích hắn, giờ sao ta. Làm sao để trở thành bạn gái hắn đây. Mình còn nghĩ nhiều thứ, tới cảnh mình làm nũng hắn, ôm, cầm tay, hun đồ. Chưa có gì đã nghĩ như vậy nhưng mình thích lắm. Còn đối với những người khác thì mình không nghĩ được như vậy. Và đôi khi còn thấy hơi sai sai, kì kì ở đâu.

Mà công nhận mình thấy mình xinh dã man. Nay mình đã lấy lại được phong độ khi xưa rồi. Mà nét đẹp của mình, đúng chất hồi giờ luôn. Chỉ có con trai thích, chứ con gái ít thích nét đẹp mình, và thường là mấy bạn gái cá tính mới thích nét đẹp của mình. Và mấy chú lớn tuổi cũng thích mình lắm, nhưng mấy bà mấy cô thì chê. Hông biết mô tả sao. Nhưng mà mình bị cái nữa là, gặp mình vài lần đầu thì ai cũng ấn tượng nhưng càng về sau hông ai khen mình đẹp nữa.
