A thought, if I may. Ruby and Opal are partners in crime, they get up to harmless mischief and enjoy playing pranks, one of their favourites being changing into each other and tricking people. They especially love doing this to Ark; he always has the best reactions.

But it doesn't occur to them, Ark can see auras, he knows exactly what's going on and plays it up because it makes them happy.

They very much enjoy twin-swapping with each other via their illusions and transformations, Ark very much is a strong candidate for receiving the legendary “World’s Best Dad” mug this Father’s Day, and this ask is very much one of the most adorable things I’ve ever imagined.

Shadow core Danny? Shadow core Danny with Hazmat AU? Indeed, with a hint of a twist.

See that hazmat helmet beneath the hood? Yeah that’s erm, that might be his actual face now. It might be able to split open into a proper maw, as he found out during one of the early fights. He thinks it might be a shadow-core thing though, because Fright Knight has something similar, along with the Keeper. Who's apparently a ghost that keeps track of other shadow-ghosts, which, cool. Cool library covered in flesh, nothing spooky there.

He mentions this? Because apparently even if all ghosts partially feed on emotions, shadow cores need Fear the most. Which, thankfully shadow cores are apparently more rare than he’d expect, so he’s not going to go into a territorial frenzy or something on a bad day, yay!

But uh, he might… count as a ghostling since he’s only a year dead- in fact he’ll continue to be as such until he’s at least 100 years dead, since he didn’t die as an adult. Which in turn… means he needs even more fear, at least until he’s old enough to generate it on his own.

So what’s a ghostling to do? Take a trip to one of the most fear-soaked cities in the world, y’know, just a little weekend trip every month. Gotham isn’t that bad, and he can stay invisible- mostly! What’s going to happen, he run into a vigilante? Ha… oh no.

Love the dadow headcannon but let me take it one step further, Metal Sonic and Omega are Silver's uncles.

Shadow, Omega and Metal are the only character's I can see living long enough to see Silvers time.

Metal lost his purpose after Eggman and Sonic died. He focused on the one objective in his program that he could do, surpass Sonic.

He tried to become a better hero then Sonic and mimicked him in everyway. However, as time has gone on, his memory has corrupted and faded, causing him to somewhat form his own personality (but still with bits of Sonic in there)

He, Shadow and Omega have crossed paths with each other enough to be somewhat friendly with each other. Shadow is also just happy to see Metal become his own person.

One day, Shadow finds baby Silver in a bin and is like 'this is mine now'. He enlists the help of the two war machines to raise Silver into the time traveller they would meet in the past.

Metal would love Silver. Sonic raised Tail (as brothers but still) so he's gotta have some sort of kindness/nurturing instinct. Also Metal spends a lot of his time fighting off bad guys and never has the opportunity to make meaningful connections with people. The closest person he had was Shadow. So he's very happy to have the little physic pot head baby in his life.

No one knows what they're doing and none of them should be raising a child.

Go on vacation, they said. We can watch Gotham, they said. Just go hang with and adjust to caring for kids, they said. Yeah, well no one said anything about getting cursed while at the vacation lake house, which okay, fine. But did it have to affect the kids too?

Bruce pressed his head in his hands, groaning in dismay as the children practically zoomed around the surrounding water with enthusiastic trills and squeals he could somehow understand. And through the air, to their increasing delight. Okay. Okay this is fine.

It wasn’t like he also somehow now had an extra child who looked like one at most that he had no clue as to where they came from. Said child wasn’t squirming in his arms, black scales and tiny fins akin to the setting of a sun twisting as they chirped. Definitely not.

Okay. Alright. He could figure this out. Probably…. hopefully…
