When did you start writing?

Technically speaking, as early as the first or second grade, but that was mostly limited to stories I wrote for school projects. The first fanfic I ever wrote, I started in grade three. I've always been drawn to creative writing, and would write stories in junior high (though I never finished any of them).

But for Lukanette fanfic specifically, I returned to creative writing in the spring of 2021 after a long break from it due to high school, university, and then a very busy work life.

5. What is your favourite trope to write for?

I have to admit, I'm a huge sucker for idiots in love 😂 That's why you'll see it in so many of my stories. There are lots of tropes I love to play with in my writing (too many to list), but that's definitely one of my favourites because of how many ways it can be twisted and adjusted to fit different characters.

18. Show us a piece of dialogue you really like.

This was a hard one because there are lots of pieces of dialogue that I love 😂 But I think I'll share little bit from chapter 17 of Juleka vs. the Forces of the Universe (does this count as six sentence sunday too? 😂)

“You’re such a sap, you’re going to make me ruin my makeup,” she mumbled, waving a hand in front of her eyes to keep them from tearing up. Once she was sure she wasn’t going to cry, she stood and hugged Luka tightly. He returned it just as fiercely.

Once they broke apart, she smacked his arm. Lightly. Ish. “Why aren’t you ready yet, dummy?”

He chuckled, shaking his head as he rolled his eyes. “I need to iron my shirt but I can’t find the iron anywhere.”

“Check the greenhouse, last time I saw it Ma was using it as a door stop up there”

Say It Again When It’s All Over (for the made up title)

Hmmm I would write a Ladrien fic for this, set during Desperada, but probably diverging from canon. On one of his (very many) loops, Adrien has to take a break; he keeps witnessing the akuma hitting Ladybug and it's gotten to be too much for him. He's starting to doubt himself, but Ladybug is able to comfort him and give him the confidence he needs. Adrien is almost ready to go back and start another loop, but while he still has the time to do so, he takes a chance and tells Ladybug that he loves her. He reaches for the Miraculous to reset it, but Ladybug grabs his wrist and stops him before he can, and asks him to tell her again after the battle, when they've won. And then because I love happy endings and I'm a very sappy person, I'd have Ladrien meet up again afterwards and get together <3

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

There's a Reverse Robins AU slowly percolating in my head until I finish Gotham Academy because Maps is the first Robin in it. (Duke occupies a Batgirl-like outsider who Is Not Beholden To Batman role, but isn't Batgirl because he doesn't have the genderweird for it to me)

📚 Do you read your own fic?

I do! Especially the stuff I wrote for me and me alone.

💖 What do you like most about your own writing?

I like my ability to depict character emotions.

13. how long do you usually take on a piece

Ohh gosh, depends on the complexity? A genuinely thought out piece can take a few hours, but the majority of my sketchy stuff is like, 20-40m

15. if digital, what program do you use

Paint Tool Sai 2 and/or Blender. I use GIMP for more hardcore editing tools.

20. a piece from this year that you're really proud of

Oh my Kwami Cafe piece for sure.

I worked hard on all of it and I genuinely think I could make all of these irl too, if I so desired! I was so excited about it and I genuinely am dissapointed that it didn't get as many comments as some of my other stuff LOL

I've been thinking about doing a sequel with precanon characters

1. of the fic you've written, which are you most proud of?

I haven't finished it yet, but I have to say True Blue! There are so many challenging elements I have to interpret and control to make that story work, and I think I'm doing it pretty well :)

8. is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?

I love writing for Adrien and Marinette (and, strangely, Gabriel)! They have such interesting personalities and I think putting them into situations is perhaps a little too addicting lol

Meanwhile, I don't necessarily dislike writing for anyone, but anytime I know the writers haven't revealed a crucial bit of information about a character yet, I become very afraid to write them the wrong way. For example, I used to think Felix was more traditionally villain-coded, but I knew the show wasn't giving away his motivations yet, so if I had written a fic involving him back before the last season came out, I would've been very careful and basically walked on eggshells as I wrote him to leave room for the show to flesh out his character more (which would have been a good move, looking back!). Idk, it seems like most fanfic writers don't have that hangup, but it's one that pops up a lot with me. I never let it stop me, though!

Made up title: Melodies at Midnight

post-s5. the "nightmares" from monarch's last akuma don't actually go away completely. unable to explain them to their significant other due to secret identities, ladybug and chat noir develop a habit of calling each other to talk when they have a bad night. eventually they share what songs their parents used to sing to them when they were little and needed comfort and they start singing those for each other. (possible reveal potential if adrien or marinette hears the other one humming one of the songs one day)
