The cat is almost out of the bag! January 2nd l'll begin posting my @mlbigbang 2023 story A Bump In The Road

Summary: Four years. Four years they'd been together when their relationship hit a fork in the road - Luka wanted a baby, Adrien did not. After going their separate ways Adrien spends a fantastic night with a down-on-her-luck stranger named Marinette and realises he does want forever. He's ready to commit to Luka.
Slight problem, the one night stand left Marinette pregnant...
PREVIEW
The escalator unceremoniously threw them into a riot of beauty shops and stalls. Hair care stores and nail booths cluttered their vision, and the giant sensory nightmare that was the perfume department all had to be traipsed through to reach precious sustenance. That was, of course, a cleverly designed retail trap. If the queue for the burger place was too long it was easy to become distracted by shiny lipgloss or sparkly bottles. Adrien would have been a perfect target for impulse purchases if not for the slight surreality of his own face staring back at him from multiple billboards.
Luka snickered as several people walking past recognised him from the large ADRIEN: THE FRAGRANCE adverts.
“Oh, shut up.” Adrien murmured, his cheeks heating as he tried not to laugh too. It was funny… sort of. They weaved their way through the shop goers, with Adrien occasionally waving at a raised cell phone.
When the crowd thinned closer by the perfume counter, Adrien stopped dead in his tracks and it took Luka (who had been walking a respectful distance away to avoid winding up on the gossip blogs) about thirty seconds to catch on.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, confused as to why Adrien had paled.
“The uh… the girl behind the counter.” Adrien said carefully, nodding his head to where a young woman was largely obscured by a bountiful display of glass bottles.
“What about her?” Luka wondered, confused.
“That’s Marinette.” Adrien whispered.
Marinette.
The woman Adrien had slept with when they were broken up. Luka took a moment to look her over. She looked a little tired, frazzled from working customer service, presumably, but other than that…
“She’s pretty.” Luka said eventually. He’d known that, Adrien had told him the whole story, but seeing her in person was altogether something else. He wasn’t jealous - in a weird way he owed her everything, and he and Adrien had been over so it wasn’t as though he could be angry about it. Adrien hummed softly beside him, wavering in place.
“I… still feel kind of guilty about…” he murmured. She hadn’t noticed them, and was busy testing a bottle on the wrist of an older woman.
“Do you want to go say sorry?” Luka asked knowingly, the look of guilt on Adrien’s face very telling.
“Sort of… and I mean I kind of want to thank her. Is that weird?” Not that weird, as Luka had just had the same thought.
“Would it make you feel better about running out and leaving her asleep?” Questioned Luka.
“Yes.”
“Then go.” Luka encouraged. Adrien still hovered and Luka sighed softly. “Need me to go with you for moral support?”
“God, yes. Please.” Adrien begged, ignoring the amused laugh.
Together they made their way over just as the elderly woman was leaving, beaming, apparently pleased with her purchase. Marinette visibly paled at the sight of them, her eyes flickering briefly to Luka but mostly staying locked on Adrien.
“Hello.” Adrien said weakly. “I… don’t know if you remember me…” he began. Without a word, Marinette waved her hand at the large poster beside her where a picture of Adrien smirked seductively in mockery.
“You’re kind of hard to forget.” Luka pointed out.
