Kelly Severide or Mouch - I love Mouch, he's truly a treasure to me, but Kelly is just so deeply embedded into my mind and heart.

Stella Kidd or Sylvie - Stella is my queen. If it wasn't for Kim, she probably would be my all time favourite of all the oc women. So this was truly no contest.

Kim Burgess or Makayla (this is mean, I know 😂) - this is super mean of you, but ultimately, a big part of my love of Makayla comes from my love of Kim, so Kim it is!

Violet or Hawkins - I love Violet so dearly, she seriously gives Stella a run for her money when it comes to my favourite oc girlie and also, as much as I love Hawkins, I love him a lot because of Hawkami.

Ritter or Gallo - It was mean of you to put my two boys together, but Ritter is just my favourite without a doubt.

Connor or Boden - This was SO SO CRUEL of you. These two are two of my favourites and it was so bloody hard to chose between them. Because Boden is so special to me, my daddy issues riddled ass eats him all up. But Connor is one of my main reasons for getting into OC so I just had to chose him.

Adam or Trudy - Adam without a doubt. My brainrot for him goes deep.

Erin or Jay - Erin. There's problematic stuff about her, but I love her so dearly.

Gabby or Hailey - This choice surprised me, because when I first started watching, I definitely would've made a different choice, but I have really enjoyed Hailey in season 10, and then what we've had so far in 11 and doing my rewatch of fire recently, I was left more annoyed with Gabby then I did enjoy her.

Ethan or Sarah - Sarah is my girl !! If Stella is my most favourite of CF, and Kim of PD, Sarah is my med favourite!

Robert Chase or Matt Casey - This was super super mean, but ultimately, I consistently agree with and like Matt all the time basically, whereas I sometimes in some episodes don't jive with Chase.

Hope You See Me Instead (Eddie Diaz x female reader)

Content Warnings:Halstead siblings,adult themes,ptsd,violence,cussing,graphic content,guns

Summery:When a work case ends up leading the Halstead’s Baby sister to yet another family,the groups circle expands and love engulfs everyone,all while working their dangerous jobs.

Your day didn’t start at work,you had that day off having told Voight, your boss that your brother needed help.Which wasn’t technically false,he was at work but he did need help fixing his house and his horribly decorated walls,though that shouldn’t of been a excuse.You just knew you really just needed at least today off,it marked a year sense you got back after you were honorably discharged from the Rangers.

You had just got to the store to buy paint,you knew Will was never gonna willingly change his house.He would just tell you he’s busy to try to get you off his back.

Right as you were about to go into the store you saw a man with a younger kid,who had cerebral palsy but the odd part was they didn’t seem like the kinda people who have a grudge on them by anyone so it made no sense to as why someone would be pointing a gun at them.

“Put the gun down,now!” You hollered at the guy taking your gun out and pointing it at the guy with the gun,who started to take off running.

the two seemed okay so you ran after the suspect and but by the time you brought him in,for questioning you realized you hadn’t asked for their name or anything to make sure they were okay.

Everyone was getting ready for their day while you got upstairs,sipping on your coffee which was still boiling hot as you sat down at your desk listening to voight,while Jay threw a piece of paper at Lindsey.

“You like working in this unit,you keep it in your pants” voight stated to Jay before making his way to his office.

“I didn’t know it was out” Jay said sarcastically but also laced with confusion as he looked over at his baby sister who was already on her third cup of coffee.

“Look I know you keep saying your fine,but I know what today is.You look like yourself,but your somebody else only it ain’t in the surface.” Jay asked you worried about your mental health with what today was suppose to be.

“Look I’m fine really,if something with that changes you will be the first one to know” you tell him serious as you get up.

“Jay just give her sometime,it’s not like your any better on your day” Lindsey said sincerely as she patted his shoulder nudging him.”come one we have to head out” Lindsey faintly smiled at you before leaving with Jay.

The case ended up causing a apartment building to catch on fire,leaving you coming out of the apartment coughing while fire trucks pulled up and people going in but you froze seeing the guy from earlier.

“Hey I’m glad to see your alright,sorry I didn’t even think to get your name or number to check back in.How’s your kid?” You ask the guy as he was putting his coat on.

“My names Buck,but he’s actually Eddie’s kid” Buck pointed to Eddie who got out of the truck and headed in right away but Buck almost laughed seeing your cheeks get faintly red seeing Diaz.

“Well I’m at least glad you both are okay” you shake his hand while he asked for your name you only smiled. “That’s not important” you teased you knew how things would change if he had found out your a Halstead and that would just lead to him finding out more things about you,that doesn’t need to be known.

But right as you had thought that Voight yelled your name.

“Halstead!” Voight’s rough voice startled you as you turnt around not even thinking about it and what they just outed,it wasn’t a big deal but you knew your brothers were both really well known,in Chicago.

The second your name was said you heard bucks smirk.”well Halstead,how about you come out tonight for some drinks and maybe meet Christopher’s dad”.

“Yeah sounds lovely but I don’t do things like that,I’m quite focused on work,but thanks” you slightly sassed as you walked over to Voight you asked you that was and you had told him just some guy from the store,which technically wasn’t a lie.

Even for that whole day you could just feel the constant judgement and pressured to talk and get your feelings out but that wasn’t you,an that wasn’t how you were raised.You hadn’t even thought about bucks comment earlier as you made your way to Mollys.

“Hermann strongest thing you got-“ you were cut off mid sentence as two guys approached you and the one was Buck…of course.

“Hey thought you weren’t showing up” Buck teased but you couldn’t help but glare at him.

“Didn’t show up for you or him,I just needed a drink and you just happen to drink at my brothers favorite bar,so as kindly as I can say this let’s not chat” you stated downing the drink Hermann gave you before you had even sat down all the way.

“Look I just wanna say thank you on my behalf as a father,for keeping my son and idiot friend out of harms way” Eddie smiled Apoligetic as soon as he saw dog tags around your neck.”how long did you serve?” He asked curious.

“Look it’s my job,you don’t have people coming around thanking you when you just wanna drink for a job you get paid for,do you?” You glared at them “an it doesn’t matter,it’s none of your business” you sassed as you downed yet another and motioned Hermann a well known signal while the two men looked at each other.

While not even few minutes had passed the door to Mollys swung open and in rushed Two others over to you.

“Look what did I tell you about drinking,at least today of all days” Will told you while Jay drank your drink.

“Take her home” Jay looked at Will while you stood up.

“I’m not a dam child,you two out my brothers not my baby sisters,my life is mine while you two wanna try to control it you did to your dam medicine and your girlfriend and you Jay,stick to your dam wife I can handle myself I have been doing it for the past 25 years of my life” you raised your voice while walking out having not got to far before you held a hand come on your lower back.

You felt like you were gonna get sick,having passed out and no clue at all what happened till morning and found yourself on a couch in a apartment which freaked you out,darting up realizing you gun was gone until you saw Eddie.

“How are you feeling?” Eddie’s voice was sincere and laced with gentle concern which was something you haven’t experienced in a long time.

“Fine really,thank you for letting me uh-sleep on your couch” you hesitate with your words nervous and he picked up on that.

“Hey your family,I served just like you so men or women we both experienced that,an I don’t know what you were seeing last night but I know it was bad enough to lead you to drinking”. Eddie came over sitting beside you.

“I’m fine really,it was just a bad night nothing else” you tell Him while he raises his hands defensively jokingly.

You and Eddie looked at each other both with respect and a new found friendship as his door opened and in came Buck and Christopher who hugged you right away which seemed to surprise Eddie especially as you hugged Christopher back an the two of you had already seemed to love each other though you didn’t know each other barely.

“You are the strongest guy I know,you know that” you tell Christopher without even hesiating you took of your dog tags that you hadn’t ever took off and threatened to hurt anyone who ever tried to take them off you and put them around Christopher.”I have to go to work,but you stay like that alright kid” you smile getting thanking Eddie again before heading out.

You hadn’t expected when you came to the firehouse to be told to act as Eddie fiancés seeing his partners harassing him.

“Hey babe,I got Christopher to school but I wanted to check in and let you know I brought you something,I put it in the fri-“ you were cut off right away by his dad telling you to go and that they were trying to have a conversation.

Before Eddie could even defend you,it surprised them to see you stand up for yourself,an Eddie.

“Your exhausting,everyone in the world has problems not just you,but you don’t hear anyone else whining about it somehow everyone just manages to suck it up which is something you should learn how to do.An don’t even get me started on the way you treat your son,he is a fucking amazing father to Christopher and even after everything you try to control him and get Christopher to yourself’s.” You stated glaring at them while Eddie grabbed your hand keeping you behind him and couldn’t help but smile when you changed it all to joking.

“You wanna go for the title there big boy” you smirked which made him smirk as well that made his parents uncomfortable.

“What if you don’t have protection” Eddie’s mom asked

“Prayer” you jokingly said while Eddie held your hand over his heart

“I would be lucky to ever be able to get the chance to have a kid and raise one with her,she has already became such a amazing and beautiful mom to Christopher”. He smiled looking down at you which made you feel nervous,something about this now didn’t feel as a -play along for the moment kinda thing-.

*all units be advised we have a hostage situation with active bombs on west 2573 timber street all units be advised ambulances are needed,district 21 needed at the scene*

“Looks like I have to go,see you and Chris tonight?” You kiss his cheek before rushing out in a hurry and speeding off to the scene.

Daniel Charles - physically and/or emotionally abandoned at least two children but still expected unconditional love, forcefully admitted Robin to psych when he was not her doctor and without consulting her psychiatry team, which was totally messed up and illegal, seriously that man should have lost his license for that

Hank Voight - never held Justin accountable for his actions or let him face any consequences, lied to Erin a lot and usually just supported her in ways that were beneficial to him, has a secret history with Bunny outside of old CI stuff that the show mentioned/alluded to but never elaborated on

Robert Haywood - abandoned Reese, emotionally abusive, serial killer

Patrick Halstead - emotionally abusive, manipulative

Mr. Upton - physically abusive, alcoholic

Mr. Casey - they alluded to him being physically abusive sometimes on the show, had anger issues

Cornelius Rhodes - narcissistic rich scumbag, treats his daughter like dirt, tries to control Connor's life and goes out of his way to do so, uses his wife's death to hurt and manipulate Connor, they alluded that Cornelius had something to do with her death in season 1 of med but never did anything with it

Benny Severide - abandoned Kelly, manipulative, demonstrated lots of toxic masculinity, tried to undermine Kelly's stand in dad (Boden) because of DNA, womanizer, serial cheater

It’s 11:00pm on a Thursday night, and I’m fully sobbing because I just watched the episode of Chicago Fire when Matt proposes to Gabby and Kelly thinks Sylvie is Leslie. It’s a whirlwind of emotions, and I AM NOT OKAY.

I’ve had to take the last episodes of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 SO SLOW because losing Shay is such a blow to that show. It takes you out at the knees with Gabby and Kelly. And, oof, Taylor Kinney’s performance in Molly’s when Kelly is drunk and fully believes he’s seeing Shay is heartbreaking.

And it just gets more intense from there. Erin drawing very healthy and necessary boundaries with Kelly is SO GOOD, and the way she lifts him up when he breaks down because he lost his best friend is SO GOOD. One Chicago seriously doesn’t realize the superstar it lost in Sophia Bush.

But it’s also emotional whiplash to celebrate Dawsey’s engagement because Shay should be there. She should be there, right next to Gabby, examining the ring she helped Matt get ready for during Season 2. She should be there. And that’s why it works so well that Kelly sees Sylvie as Leslie in this episode.

It’s a beautiful and painful continuation of the exploration of his grief, and it answers the audience’s call that Leslie Shay should be a part of this. She should be in the ambo with Gabby, she should be the first one Gabby tells about her engagement, and she should be on that barstool next to Kelly.

It’s so tough, and it’s so good that the show doesn’t lean away from that. It leans into it and wades through it with you — or at least it does where I’m at in the show. Apologies for how long this got; I’m in my Chicago Fire feels.
