Wendy met Eunhee when she went to her radio show to promote VOIST's —a girlgroup under KQ Entertainment— comeback. Maybe because they had the same MBTI or they were both Pisces, something clicked, instantly.
There was nothing else for Seungwan to talk about in these weeks since she met her. She seemed happy to have found someone who understands her, who makes her laugh, and that made me happy.
A few days ago she proposed to go out for dinner with all the members. The smile on her face and the excitement with which she asked us made it impossible for any of us to say no to her.
We came to a grill. When Eunhee and the members of her group arrived, my eyes were drawn to one specific person. I had seen her before, VOIST has been promoting for years at the same time as us. I've seen her presentations, her interviews, but why is it only now that I'm noticing her?
We share greetings with each other, saying our names, doing small talk, deciding what we are going to order. As they share opinions and tastes, I watch y/n out of the corner of my eye. She's been reading the menu since she sat down and hasn't joined the conversation. I take a swig of my beer.
Now that I have her in front of me, the memory of when we were on Weekly Idol on a special episode at the same time came to my mind. y/n was beaming, whenever she appeared in my field of vision she was talking to her members and laughing, she was very eloquent, anything she said was funny and spot on, to see her that day was to see someone made for entertainment.
And now here she was sitting at a table full of people, but she hadn't even lifted her head from the cardboard with the dishes on it.
I take another sip of my drink as I think. Maybe she's just had a bad day.
The other members are otherworldly, like a comedy troupe, not singers.
The moment they appeared the words began to fall from their lips one after another, non-stop. Each phrase more comical than the previous one.
Eunhee is similar to Wendy, now I understand why they got along so well, they both don't know when to draw the line on what they say. They are so carefree about their images, so open with what's on their minds, they are the funniest people.
Hayoon is smart, sarcastic, she's calm and a bit serious, but everything that comes out of her mouth hits the target exactly, as if she calculates her words so that there's no range of error.
And for her part, Jihye was a ball of joy and happiness, everything excited her, everything surprised her. She was adorable.
As we recounted situations in which we've met before, the food arrived and we started grilling the meat.
Between the time we chatted, the food arrived and we prepared it, I made three glasses of beer disappear. While we ate, the girls ordered soju, of which I drank, of course. And now I'm drunk.
And y/n is still not talking. Excellent.
Yeri and Joy noticed that she doesn't talk much, so they tried to ask her some questions to include her, but her answers were too short, not helpful.
However, Seulgi did manage to grab her attention; they've been talking about movies for a while.
If Seulgi is talking to her, then she does talk, that means she can talk to me. Cool!
"What are you two talking about?" I shift a little in my chair, moving closer to them.
"Oh, Irene unnie watched Memento Mori too, in fact, she watched it with me" my member explains, integrating me into the conversation.
I swear I saw y/n's eyes sparkle for a second. Excited, she starts talking to me about the feature film and asking me questions. From one topic we move on to another, and another, and another. I don't know at what point Seulgi left the conversation and joined the one the others were having, but now it was just me and her.
A couple more glasses of alcohol and we all said our goodbyes. As we go back home I can't stop smiling.
"Hey, why is unnie so happy?" Yeri teasingly questions.
"Because she found out she likes someone" Joy quickly replies.
What a human I started liking.
A few days later, Jihye's birthday arrived. We all received a message from her inviting us. It was a small thing, with her friends, at her apartment.
Of course we attended. I wore something cute, casual, but it clearly said "I'm looking for a girlfriend". I don't tend to be very obvious in my emotions, so I could at least try to deliver my message through my clothes. But there's no point now, because y/n doesn't care.
We exchanged a few words, she asked me if I had seen the movie she recommended me, offered me a drink and then told me not to get drunk. Then she sat down next to her mates, and there she stayed.
If I would have liked a vase I would have had more action.
Then, we were invited to a movie night. I thought it would be the best possible situation, since it was what we bonded over in the first place, but again, she waved, offered me popcorn, said I would like this movie, and nothing else
For Joy's birthday everyone was invited, y/n even cooked, but that day she didn't even speak to me except to say hello.
That's how it was every time we saw each other, she would say "hello" and "goodbye", and that was it. She was like that with everyone, but I didn't understand how it could be that once we had such a nice conversation and after that I haven't been able to share a sentence of more than five words with her.
I guess she is extremely introverted. I am too, in the end. I try and try to talk to her, but it's merely because I like her, if it was any other human being I wouldn't try. And to her I'm just another human being, she doesn't have to try. So I understand her.
Recently both groups had a comeback, it's great because it's the first time we work at the same time since we became close. After we finished getting ready, we decided to come to VOIST's dressing room to hang out while waiting for our turn to record our performance.
As we have snacks and start a game of I Am Ground, I can't help but notice that y/n is quieter than other times. She's not even playing with us or eating anything, she's sitting apart, staring blankly at space.
Since everyone is engrossed in what we were doing, no one notices when y/n gets up and almost sprints out of the room. I stand up and quickly follow her into the bathroom.
y/n is resting on the marble where the sinks are, crying frantically, trying to inhale and exhale, but failing each time.
"y/n?" I slowly approach her, she turns to look at me, startled. "It's okay, it's me."
She takes a few steps back, getting away from me, and covers her face with her hands, keeping me from seeing her. She keeps trying to calm down, I notice how her breathing is getting louder and louder, almost forcing herself to be okay.
I stand in front of her, take her hands and move them away, I wipe her tears with my thumbs. As I look into her eyes, I begin to inhale and exhale myself. After a few seconds, when she feels secure, she begins to copy my actions. Slowly, she calms down. Once her breathing is steady, she throws herself at me and catches me in a hug. It's not romantic; it's a quest for protection.
"It's too much," she murmurs into my arms "I thought I could get on stage without worrying, but it's too much."
"I get you, this sucks, things sucks sometimes."
When she was encouraged to open up to me, I could understand a lot of things.
Since VOIST debuted everything has been difficult for her. The pressure of being the leader of the group, the fame, the exposure. She has been dealing for years with the insecurity that she will never be enough for her fans and her group, with the hate from those who are not so fans. Being a celebrity has caused an immense depression that she's been battling for years, and it's not that she's introverted or dislikes me, it's that she's unable to believe that people would ever want to be friends with her.
The human mind is the most complex thing there is.
I have spent almost four months trying to bond with her while she believed she wasn't enough to bond with anyone.
After the panic attack in the bathroom at that music program, I've been busy helping her. She doesn't open up or let her guard down with anyone, but I had already seen her vulnerable side.
I encouraged her to start therapy, who referred her to a psychiatrist who gave her medication to combat her depression. I say it so easily, but it has been a tedious and lengthy process, in which I have stuck by her side as her support. I don't do it because I feel the responsibility, I do it because I want to see her well.
It has been a while since I felt so much pride as the moment I saw her go on stage without crying before. The presentation was great, it's the return of a y/n with confidence, with energy. She's not in her best shape, she's not the best version of herself, there's still some way to go, but she's better than before, a little healthier and happier.
The members come down from the stage and upon seeing me, y/n comes almost running towards me. She has a smile on her face, which seems like an anomaly of life. I feel an intense urge to cry with happiness, but I don't get to that point,
because first I feel her lips on mine.
We try to keep the balance we lost thanks to the impact of her body against mine, with our lips pressed together and bodies surely holding on to each other.
"What was that?" I blurt the moment she pulls away from me.
"Something I've wanted to do for months now," she confesses "but in order not to hurt you I first had to stop hurting myself" she adds, tears peeking out of her eyes "thank you for helping me stop hurting myself."
—O—O—
Soo.. this was hard, i don't know if this will be satisfying for who requested ir or if they wanted something more.. intense (? i'm pretty proud of this one, must say, so i hope everyone likes it.
and, beautiful people, get help if you are going through a hard moment, talk about it, you're all important <3

Seomin was too afraid to tell Sana what happened. Sana wouldn't believe her. Seomin knew should would side with her boyfriend. All Seomin could do was keep her head down when she noticed Jungkook was in the room.
It had happened two weeks ago and since then Seomin hadn't seen Jungkook much, and she definitely didn't open the door for him again the next time he came around. She kept what happened to herself. She couldn't tell Jeongan because she'd only be disappointed in her for falling into the same rabbit hole she always did. Be strong, Jeongan would tell her. Constantly allowing others to disrespect you is you disrespecting yourself. She didn't want to tell Sooyoung because she'd been cheated on before and personally hated cheaters and all willing participants.
She wished she could talk to someone about it. She even wanted to tell Sana about it. Not only so Sana would get rid of Jungkook and he be removed from Seomin's life for good. But to also protect Sana. Sana didn't like Seomin, and Seomin had spent the first month trying to change that and eventually gave up. But Seomin never disliked Sana.
Seomin was sitting at Starbucks, waiting for her classmate to arrive so arrive to school so they could work on their group project together, when Jungkook sat across from her. She nearly spilled her drink, jumping in shock. Her eyes darted around for Sana, but she was no where in sight.
"Why are you being so weird?" He asked and Seomin didn't meet his eyes as she answered.
"Where's Sana?"
"Not here. Hey, look up." Seomin did begrudgedly and Jungkook's eyes trailed her face. "Are you feeling bad about it? For Sana?"
"Yes, I told you we shouldn't."
"Well, we did, and she's not going to find out so you should chill." He leaned back in his seat, as if getting comfortable, his legs spreading open a bit. Seomin looked away, as the thought that Jungkook was attractive crossed her mind.
"Have you been thinking about it?" Seomin was hesitant to answer. "Me fucking you again?" He continued. Seomin flinched at the words. Just then, her phone rang and Seungwan's name showed on the screen.
She quickly answered, looking away from Jungkook. Seungwan burst into a rant about someone cutting her off in traffic, but she'd finally made it. Seomin didn't let her hang up. She left the table, appearing fully immersed in the conversation with Seungwan, not daring to glance back at Jungkook.
She caught eyes with Chaeyoung while she was leaving. The short girl was giving her an odd look, considering they hardly ever interacted. Seomin briefly wondered if she'd unknowningly done something to the girl, but was quickly pulled back into conversation with Seungwan.
Seomin is walking to her apartment from the study area of the lounge when she hears a shout. She turns and sees Chaeyoung gesturing for her to come over to the study room she’s in. Shes alone and it reeks of weed. It looks like two other people were with her but they’d left with their stuff spread about.
"Yes?" Seomin questions. Chaeyoung takes a long sip of whatever's in her tumblr before she speaks. She has an obviously fake smile on her lips as she motions to the empty seat across from her.
"Sit for this." Seomin walks and sits down and waits for Chaeyoung to go on.
"To cut to the chase, I heard about you and Jungkook." Seomin's eyes widened and she held her breath momentarily. Jungkook was telling people. "Don't freak out. Mingyu and I are the only two that know. Well, were, now Sana knows. I just wanted to give you a heads up before you went in there."
"You told her?!" Seomin stands. Sana knows?! Seomin can't face her, she doesn't want to.
"Yeah, she was being a bitch, sorry."
"She's going to hate me."
"Don't you think she should? You fucked her boufriend."
"I didn't want to!" Seomin sat back in the chair expasperatedly. She'd foolish thought there was a chance Sana would never find out about her and Jungkook.
"Woah, what do you mean by that?" Chaeyoung pushed her drink aside and leaned forward. "He made you?"
"No. He didn't-" Her voice cracked. "I didn't want to. That's not the type of person I am."
Chaeyoung still looked concerned, but she didn't say anything else for a few moments. "Why did you do it if you didn't want to?"
"He kept asking." Seomin buried her face in her hands, embarrassed. This is why she could never go to Jeongan to talk about what happened with Jungkook. "He was so persistent, that I just... It just happened and I really wish it didn't."
"Girl, that sounds like rape."
"It wasn't. I said yes."
"Because you were scared and he kept pushing you to. That's rape."
Seomin didn't deny that she did feal fear of what Jungkook would resort to if she kept denying his advances.
"Now I feel really fucking bad, oh my God. Do you want me to go with you when you talk to Sana? I can help you explain what happened."
"No. I'll just let her think whatever, she's never liked me ayway."
"No. Let's go right now. I got your back, dude, I promise. She needs to know the type of guy she's dating, who she's been bringing around here for months."

. you know who i am? .
k, so i didn’t mean for this to get so out of hand. also, my first time writing in present tense? idk how to feel about it, but i guess it’s different. it felt so different writing for like actual humans lol. my first ‘normal’ fic, this is!
please for the sake of this making sense can we all pretend jennie, joy and irene are around the same age? also look who had fun with brand names. moi.
anyways this is [badgirl/bully!joohyun ‘persuading’ clumsy freshman!seungwan to be her assignment buddy]
...
University culture is grating.
It’s overwhelming and it suffocates her. She has no time to prepare herself for the apparent runway the halls have become, what with the stupid-rich kids treating every day like it’s a fashion show; Seungwan can barely blink from one person to the next without being smacked across the face with fur coats from Chanel, Louis Vuitton sunglasses hidden under Prada nylon bucket hats and Off-White tracksuits tucked into Balenciaga socks. She hadn’t considered a future in law enforcement, but had she done so, anyone who tucked their trousers into their socks mid-calf would find themselves behind bars with the rest of the criminal scum. End of.
Just as she dusts her hands of that smug little sentiment, Seungwan finds herself with a face full of hair, and an even bigger nose full of what smells like laundry detergent. She lets out an embarrassing squeal, and the girl turns round to face her. A ghost of a scowl brushes across her face before she fixes her with an indiscernible gaze.
That scowl is an awful colour on a face as pretty as yours, she impulsively thinks.
Seungwan knows no more about the history of art and the intricacies of sculpture than the average Joe, but she’s sure Michelangelo missed the mark with David. She inwardly laughs at the thought of the man dedicating his entire being to crafting his flimsy idea of ‘perfection’ when she’d just bumped into it; the real thing. Of course, if that was defined by forming new constellations from faded freckles on flawless skin, or vantablack tresses framing sharp features like a painting, then yes; she was, by very definition, ‘the perfect (wo)man’. Easily outdoing anyone within a 50-metre radius.
Heck, make that 500.
The girl glares intimidation and Seungwan manages to save herself the humiliation of drooling in front of the white-hot beauty and her friends with a quick gulp, already feeling crimson seeping into her cheeks.
Perfect; now that she’s watched whatever new potential friendship this was blow up in her face, all she has to do is avoid her at all costs from here on out.
She mouths a haphazard apology and zooms past before anything can come of it, keeping her head down even after she’s well out of sight. Seulgi, Seulgi, Seulgi, save me, she brisk walks and begs all the way to class.
~~~~~~~~~~
A small commotion rings through the lecture hall of keyboard clicks and lethargic shuffles, calling to attention the girl who’s just spilt her drink down her front, now frantically digging around in her backpack for anything she can use to soak it up. A few jeering giggles are stifled, meanwhile students close by donate tissues and sympathetic looks. They are gratefully accepted with rapid-fire bows and machine-gun stuttered apologies.
“That freshman’s just ruined her rep, huh?” Jennie chuckles, “blindly walking into people… can’t even keep liquid in the cup. Give her a dog collar and a sign and she’s good to go.”
“Eh, I thought it was cute.”
Jennie’s retort comes quick.
“Sooyoung, you think anything in a skirt is cute.”
“What,” the girl says, ignoring the implication, “Haetnimie doesn’t wear skirts. And she’s not even wearing one right now. Plus, I didn’t say ‘she’s cute’, I said ‘it’s cute’. Learn the difference, idiot… it’s not like I wanna have at her or anything…”
Jennie shoots her an incredulous look and Sooyoung relents the banter. They both turn their attention to the girl sitting next to them, completely un-present in the moment. Sooyoung notices who she’s looking at and leans in to nudge her.
“Joohyun,” she whispers, poking her in the ribs when it’s obvious their friend is well on her way to signing a contract with NASA with how apparently well accustomed to space she is, “what do you think of her? Or are you still mad she walked into you?”
“Nah, forget it,” Jennie waves her off before she’s even had a chance to respond, “she’s not interested. I had to literally pay her money to go on a stupid double date with me in high school. I washed five cars for her to not even hold his hand once during the movie.”
Instead of participating, Joohyun sighs, casting the girl in question a seemingly uninterested stare. Unbothered eyes take in the sight she’s presented with: frustrated brows knitted together under a wispy caramel fringe and a blot of taro milk tea the size of Canada staining her baby blue jumper.
“I want her.”
The words are so simple her friends almost miss them entirely.
Sooyoung and Jennie battle for first place in an impromptu competition of ‘who’s-the-most-shocked’.
“You’re joking! Yah, you’re so annoying seriously, now?! You couldn’t have ‘wanted’ Min-seok in year nine?! I paid good, hard cash for that stupid boy!”
Joohyun looks at her, smug as a cat.
“I did it for you, Jennie. I didn’t even remember his name was Min-ho.”
“Min-seok.”
“Yeah, right.”
Sooyoung, wide-eyed and on the verge of passing out, grabs Joohyun by the shoulders, ignoring the glare she receives for it. “Joohyun, seriously? You’re serious. You want her like want her? Or want her like you wanted that cookbook after that trial week of Food Tech during summer break?”
Joohyun regards her, absolutely blasé. “I don’t follow recipes.”
“Exactly. Are you play-”
Sooyoung’s statement dies down with the rest of the class as the lecturer walks in. Furious clicking, hurricane scribbles and flipping pages are all that remain as the lesson kicks off, Jennie and Sooyoung casually scrolling through Instagram while the professor speaks. Joohyun leans forward, elbows on desk and chin resting on interlocked fingers. Her full attention is on the poor girl on the other side of the hall, intermittently peeling the cold, damp fabric away from her body, face flushed and avoiding all eye contact. Joohyun snickers at how uncomfortable it must be to have to sit through class in a wet jumper, how awkward and squeamish she looks.
Strawberry-tinted lips curl into the faintest smirk.
Hello cutie.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Yah! Kang Seul-Gi!” Seungwan calls out to chocolate-swirly space buns and baggy gym clothes hurtling towards her from across campus grounds, “where the heck were you?!”
“Sorry sorry! Overslept!”
“What!? Your class starts at noon! … and this is like… day 1!”
The girl looks like she’s barely had the chance to screw her head on the right way as she joins Seungwan on the steps of the university entrance.
Seungwan’s sweating buckets; physically and metaphorically, both from the waves of humidity and her all-exclusive one-idiot circus show this morning in class. That little muck up makes it to the tippy top of the endless list of embarrassing things Seungwan has stored in her long-term memory.
“You okay?”
Seungwan palms rosy cheeks as she takes another mouthful of her rainbow sherbet cone.
“You wouldn’t believe what happened to me.”
Seulgi chortles as her best friend recounts her ordeal, trying to subdue the sea of smart alec remarks bubbling under her skin.
“So that was great, too. And now I’m a laughing stock. A meme. They’re probably editing my stupid face as I speak…”
Seulgi reverts back to the first incident. Of course she would.
“Sooo… not like in the dramas then?”
Seungwan hangs her head, “not at all… she looked like she wanted to kill me.”
Seulgi lets out a snort before prodding her with more curious questions. The cogs in Seungwan’s brain churn and stutter as she tries to filter as many redundant adjectives as possible, only using ones she deems absolutely necessary to describe the most beautifully terrifying girl she’s ever seen.
Just then, as if Seungwan had meant to conjure hell itself, the three girls make an appearance from round the corner, chatting amongst themselves and taking Seungwan and Seulgi by surprise. The latter glances down where steely fingers are squeezing her wrist, as if that’d activate some magical cloak of invisibility. Seungwan’s as good as swallowed her tongue, shakily motioning to the girl in the middle of the black velvet storm with her eyes and a few nose twitches.
“H-her…” she stutters, finally getting her brain into gear after they leave, “… her.”
Innocent eyes double in size at the realisation.
“Wha-wait no, her?! You bumped into… her?! Her, Bae Joohyun leader of killer senior pack Bae Joohyun?”
Seungwan’s heart only thumps faster at the panic in Seulgi’s voice, but her words still mean nothing. The other girl swipes the dangling question marks off the top of her friend’s clueless head.
“Yo Wan-ah, you have to lay low. I mean why would you even – oh geez wow you really messed up. Can’t you look where you’re – I can’t even begin to – why would you – oh my gosh!”
Seulgi’s disjointed sentences allow enlightenment to trickle in and Seungwan slaps a hand over her forehead, mortified.
Oh god no. That’s the Bae Joohyun?
She’d heard the rumours. Many, rumours. Bae Joohyun who makes her juniors cry. Bae Joohyun; precious daughter of the most elusive mafia gang leader in all of Korea. Bae Joohyun; ice queen senior, sole roost-ruler of Hanyang University and the biggest bully you’ll ever meet.
Positively preposterous, empty claims with no evidence whatsoever to back them up… she hopes.
“Pft yeah okay she’s… mean, but she’s not like… jesus or anything she can’t… like… part the Red Sea or, turn water into vodka I don’t know,” Seungwan tries and fails at consoling herself, receiving nothing but an apologetic pat on the back from the girl beside her.
“Yeah well… she’s not the messiah but everyone treats her like it. And for the sake of your own neck, you’d better start too. Watch out, Wan-ah.”
Seungwan hadn’t paid any mind to those wet-eared freshmen whom she’d overheard during orientation gossiping about Joohyun and her charming little posse; but perhaps she should have.
She gulps, too afraid to think of anything else.
~~~~~~~~~~
Seungwan often fantasizes at work. There has to be some way to pass the time, after all.
Deep down she’s a sucker for romance, she knows it far too well; she envisions herself ten years down the line, letting whoever she has on the other end of the phone know that she’ll be home soon, that work has just been extra grueling today, and that she cannot wait to give them a cuddle. She’ll stir the dinner pot while she tells them stories, pausing in between to remind her lover how beautiful they are. Perhaps one day, the honour will be hers, to see her soulmate walking down the aisle.
But as the tinkling of the doorbell rings through her café, Seungwan files those cloudy fantasies for later and greets her first customers with a smile.
She hasn’t been sleeping very well, worrying her mind with ridiculous thoughts and impossible scenarios. All involving Joohyun as a tick-tocky alligator and herself as none other than Captain ‘I’m-actually-innocent-why-are-you-still-trying-to-eat-me’ Hook.
~~~~~~~~~~
It’s five minutes to closing time. Seungwan suppresses the yawn in her chest and blinks away the moisture in her eyes. Just zero to sixty, five times in your head. You got this, Seungwan. Gosh, there’s no one in the café and hardly anyone outside. She briefly contemplates closing early.
“Small iced Americano.”
“Coming r – aii!! Ai…!”
Seungwan’s adrenaline spikes so high she could serve it ice cold in a coffee cup right now. Caught completely off guard, she begins stammering nonsense behind the till, crinkling the leather of her dark brown work apron and then using the hem of her polo shirt to wring clammy palms none the drier. All the while her customer stands there, brow quirked and card held out between slender fingers. Her expression, although slightly amused, threatens her to take her money, or else.
Before she can open her mouth, a buttery voice snaps her out of her trance.
“Hello, Seung – wan… hey, don’t we have Korean Literature together?”
Seungwan tries not to spontaneously combust on the job as she instinctively slaps a hand over her name tag. It’s useless though, it is now known. Known to her, of all people. The notorious Bae Joohyun; dressed in Acne jeans and an over-sized midnight Balenciaga cardigan, she looks like any other young, caffeine-dependent university student. But Seungwan knows a lot better.
Oh god save me… what the hell is she doing here!? This has to be a set up. She’s here for me. I’m going to die tonight. Mummy, daddy I love you.
“J-J-Juh…”
She can’t say it. All the years of schooling; learning the alphabet and how to enunciate your words drain out through the holes in her ears. She gawks dumbly, moving her head in what could be considered to be a nod.
“Ah, I thought I recognised you,” she doesn’t even bother trying to sound surprised, “I’m Joohyun.”
Don’t I know.
All Seungwan can do is nod again, hating herself for even breathing right now.
Joohyun clicks her tongue and fiddles with the card in her hand, impatient, “soooo… is this Americano free, or…?”
Yes, yes it’s free, please just take it and go! I’ll upgrade it to an extra-large if you want, on me! If it means I’m spared for the rest of my student life, take it all! Jesus, how did you even find me?!
“Ah, yes. Sorry! Uh, yes that’ll be um two fif – two… two thirty.”
There’s a shaky exchange of a debit card and a forgotten peace treaty iced Americano before Seungwan takes an unconscious shuffle back from the register, eyes glued to the smudge on the toe of her right sneaker, unable to meet Joohyun’s piercing gaze for too long.
“Thank you, Seungwan.”
The way she lingers on the ‘S’ whispers shivers down the girl’s spine. She glances up at the worst possible time, too, nearly jumping out of her mismatched Muji socks when she sees Joohyun’s hibiscus-tinted lips bloom into a coy smirk.
“I’ll see you around.”
And with what a shivering Seungwan could’ve sworn was a terrible attempt at a wink, Joohyun is gone. Clutching at her chest, she tries to slow her accelerated heartrate, praying she doesn’t need heart surgery after what she’s just been through.
Seulgi’s so hearing about this.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Daebak,” Sooyoung scoffs, side-eyeing Joohyun as she twiddles her pen.
“What else did you say?” Jennie presses, taking a sip of her chai latte.
Joohyun merely hums, disclosing no further details of her little cafe incident. She misses Jennie’s disbelieving grin when the walking, talking definition of awkward bumbles into the lecture hall, just on time, armful of texts and messy cinnamon locks matted to her face.
Sooyoung can’t resist a jest. “Joohyun, look. It’s idiocy on legs.”
Joohyun bites back a snort as her eyes follow the girl stumbling and murmuring apologies all the way to her seat. She slumps into the chair with burning cheeks, brushing her hair back with her fingers and fiddling with her gingerbread fringe. Too cute, Joohyun thinks, gritting her teeth.
It happens about mid-way in the class. The mention of pair work triggers the uniform eye-roll, groan and grumble combo, more so from the seniors, who sure as hell don’t want to be paired with icky, snot-nosed first-years who can barely lift their spoons to their mouths. The grumbling evaporates when it is stated that, although compulsory, it is not a fixed-paired assignment.
Seungwan breathes a sigh of relief along with a few others, content to set up camp in the aisles of the library, perfectly undisturbed. But she suddenly feels paler than chalk; flashbacks of heeled boots, midnight cardigans and heart surgery flooding into her veins once more when she catches a pair of stealthy pupils regarding her from across the room. A deceptively sweet smile sparkling on those dreaded lips, breath-taking and utterly petrifying all at once. Even from the other side of a bloody lecture theatre, Bae Joohyun has Seungwan sweating bullets and unconsciously fidgeting at her collar to release steam no one else can see.
About a minute away from hurling herself out the nearest window, Seungwan diverts her attention to her notebook at the last second.
~~~~~~~~~~
Seungwan stabs her chopstick into the egg yolk, watching it dribble all over her rice. She’s jealous of her own best friend who doesn’t have to live every waking hour with a red sniper laser dot on her back.
Should’ve majored in art too, goddamnit, she curses, poking her lunch in a dazed stupor.
“Wan-ah!”
She scoffs at the familiarity, but Seulgi’s crescent moon grin makes Seungwan momentarily forget.
~~~~~~~~~~
The black cursive of Han Kang’s literature stares up at her as she tries to digest what she’s reading, but she swears her brain allocates the worst times for that sneaky Bae Joohyun to pop up like an unwanted advertisement. Seems like now, she’s going to have to sit through an entire trilogy.
Despite the crippling dread, Seungwan can’t help but wonder. They’re so silly, but she wonders them anyway. She feels free to let her mind wander in the safety of the university library.
Bae Joohyun; Seungwan’s mind is unchanged; she’s the most beautiful girl she’s laid eyes on. It’s a unique kind of beauty; mysteriously edgy, knife-like and femme fatale. The grin Joohyun gave her in class this morning, she knows she should be running from it, but it doesn’t stop the fact that it’s been playing in her head on repeat ever since.
Seungwan unintentionally imagines what it would be like to kiss that sunset-infused smirk right off her face.
Too bad she’s a mean one, she sighs.
She doesn’t get much further with the actual task at hand when her blood-pressure plummets; she watches leader of the killer senior pack, Bae Joohyun, artlessly sit down in the chair next to her. It’s like the world stops spinning for the second it takes their eyes to meet, and Seungwan quivers in her seat, thoughts of literature fleeing out the back of her brain.
Trying to be polite, she gives her a courteous nod and returns to her reading. But Joohyun just sits there, staring, peppering her body with smoking bullet holes – it frightens her in the weirdest way. She can’t help the tiny bubble of… excitement? At the fact that Hanyang’s notorious Bae Joohyun is sitting next to her. Probably to get close enough to kill her, of course, but she’d count her blessings, no matter how terrifying. The thread finally snaps, and Seungwan is able to channel her inner stone statue no more, wordlessly excusing herself and stumbling to the bathroom.
It’s empty and silent; exactly what she needs. She flicks some cool water over the burning in her cheeks and dabs at the heat welled in the corners of her eyes.
But just as she’s about to leave, Joohyun’s standing in the doorway; cloaked in all her intimidating aura and eclipsing her only exit.
“Bathroom break so soon?” Joohyun’s voice drips into her ears like melted honey as she observes a wry smile crawl onto her face, “we’ve barely gotten started. Let’s get back to work… partner.”
It’s kicking in only now what Joohyun is saying. And it takes everything Seungwan has to formulate a pathetic response.
“Oh right, a-about that,” she nervously chuckles, averting her gaze and scratching the back of her neck, “uh, I-I was just um… I don’t wanna drag anyone down with – you know because you’re a senior and all – was m-maybe thinking –”
She doesn’t get very far when Joohyun begins advancing, walking towards her with such sure, dominating strides Seungwan has no choice but to back away, the piercing squeaks of Adidas sneakers easily drowning out the clicking of Louboutin heeled boots. Joohyun sports that coy smirk the whole time she’s cornering poor Seungwan, further and further back, until…
A tiny yelp is torn from her as her back hits the wall. Seungwan strains up to meet her eyes, 5 inch boots are a very useful intimidation tool. Her heart feels about as fragile as sugar glass, and she thinks it would do her good to invest in those styrofoam packing peanuts and a roll of caution tape.
Joohyun observes the little caramel-haired mouse girl she’s caught; pressed against the cool, beige tile, both hands out in front of her, quivering like a jello pile. She quickly notes the way the top of Seungwan’s head just about grazes the bottom of the wall-mounted paper towel dispenser, and it stretches her grin even further. She looks irresistible, those doe eyes the colour of warm cocoa. Who knew she had a thing for sweet faces, well-intentions and weak-hearts?
Realising her hands aren’t doing anything to keep the other girl at bay, Seungwan drops them like a tonne of bricks - she’s never felt so small and helpless in her life. The rich scent of vanilla and mint tickles her nose; Joohyun’s too close, and she really needs those fragile stickers to go over the thumping in her chest. But she also wants to nuzzle in closer to that intoxicating shampoo smell.
“P-please… I-I didn’t mean to…”
Her voice sounds so tiny and fragile, it tugs on Joohyun’s heartstrings.
“You know who I am?” she demands in somewhat of a growl, caging the smaller girl in with both arms pressed on either side of her head, causing her to gasp out, “you’ve heard?”
Seungwan shrinks a little more, petunias searing onto her milky cheeks at the proximity, but terror-stricken nonetheless. It’s burning, and it’s too much.
A small ‘mm’ and a teary nod is all she can offer.
Joohyun shoots her a challenging smirk, a kaleidoscope of obsidian pebbles flicker in her darkened eyes as she brings a single finger under the girl’s chin, tilting her so she’s forced to look up.
“And you still think you have a choice?”
Seungwan wishes she could rear up at the challenge, hammer some humility into that smug attitude in front of her; put Bae Joohyun in her place. But who is she to change the way the world works? Girls like Joohyun toy with what they want, and get what they toy with; the natural order of things Seungwan has no hope of re-routing. Her resolve, her dignity and everything she’s built up in her 20 years on earth crumbles at her feet; she doesn’t bother picking up the pieces.
With that, she looks up at the girl who still has her locked in with her eyes alone, and meekly shakes her head.
Seungwan can finally breathe when Joohyun detaches herself from the wall and runs both hands down the front of her blouse. She hears a chuckle and before she knows it, there’s an arm around her waist, moving them in tandem.
She doesn’t see the triumphant smile etched into Joohyun’s rosebud lips, like she’s swallowed a coat hanger. All she knows is that they’re now bound by this assignment, and that Joohyun is leaving with exactly what she came for.
Seungwan hides a shy grin of her own.
I would like to talk about the last 5 min of this episode. I was wondering how the squad didn't find it wierd that Heedo and Yijin were going to be alone, in his apartment, at midnight. It was surprising how no one questioned it, with Seungwan hightailing out of there at 5 min to midnight , insisting others leave with her, while looking at Jiwoong and Yurim . Yurim, who lives 20 min bus ride away, left at the same time, saying she wanted to spend time with her mom. She didn't even ask Heedo to come along with her, and was returning her "bye" until Jiwoong asked Heedo if she wasn't leaving. Even then, she accepted the explanation pretty quickly, shut the conversation down and left promptly knowing Jiwoong would follow her too. This is the same clingy Yurim, who'd wait at the bus stop with Heedo for no reason. Same Yurim who was wondering why Heedo was getting out of Yijin's car in ep 4. And it just struck me. THEY KNOW! Except Jiwoong, who is probably starting to figure it out and is tactless, Seungwan and Yurim definitely have known for quite a long time.
Seungwan is not dense to pick up clues. The scene where Heedo and Yijin walk into the broadcasting room, she isn't surprised that they are together, holding hands and clinging to each other, she is just curious that he is wearing a uniform. She knows Heedo listened to his tapes, that he called her when he disappeared and how they are always holding hands.
Yurim has knows Yijin the longest, and knows how he acts around girls he is into. She probably saw Heedo confessing, Yijin lifting her in 3 different occasions, the talk about him asking her to trust him. She probably even knows that Heedo went to have dinner with Yijin! She is perceptive and could easily tell that Yijin and Heedo sounded close back in ep 3. Her being dense doesn't align with how she was shown previously. They definitely left them alone on purpose.
I'm pretty sure Heedo didn't stay back to kiss Yijin but because she didn't want to be alone or leave Yijin alone and cause she likes spending time with him. They have been alone a lot of times, but Yijin almost always dissipates the tension between them. He could have, if he wanted to. It was Heedo who tried breaking the tension by switching on the TV. It was working until Yijin said "I'll be fine with whatever happens now" and you could literally see the thought forming in Heedo's head. " What do you wish to do if the world ends now" with Heedo replying nothing really. You could see him relaxing at this cause he has come to believe that Heedo always speaks her mind and nothing is going to happen between them anymore and gives his usual heart eyes smile. But she learnt that actions speak louder than words, and in she goes.
I am one of those who feel that he should definitely reciprocate. It's weird how everyone's calling Heedo pure and him protecting her purity/innocence which is really absurd cause you can still be all that while being in love. That took a lot of courage and Heedo shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting always.
Red Velvet Reaction to S/O Cooking For Them:
--------------------------------------------------
Requested? ☑
"And I don't want the world to see me, cause' I don't think that they'd understand."
--------------------٩(◕‿◕。)۶--------------------
"Alright! I think it's good to go!"
You nod to yourself in satisfaction over the vibrant color of the food on the stove. It's her favorite food, and lately she's been very busy. You find it kind of sad that she's unable to spend the whoe day with you for your anniversary but oh well, the girls don't make their own schedules and she always does her best to spend all of her free time with you, so you're thankful for the chances that the two of you get. It makes things feel twice as important as it normally would.
"Time to plate it up!" You excitedly announce to yourself. You're no professional chef, but you've got an eye for design and such. So managing to plate up a home cooked meal in a fancy manner made you feel a bit relieved. Whoever said home made meals aren't worth the effort huh? No one. That's who.
As soon as you set down the plate on the table, you hear the front door opening and shutting. An audible "Baby, I'm home!" Resonating through the apartment you rent, you call out to your girlfriend from the kitchen, and soon enough you hear footsteps quickly making their way to the kitchen. She makes her way to you, a woman on a mission to give her girlfriend a tight hug after a long day at work. Like a phone on low battery power seeking charging stations. You let her soak in your presence, the arms wrapped round your waist and the lingering lips pressed to the back of your shoulder. It must've been a very tiring day.
You usher her to the table, and her eyes widen once she's snapped out of the Seek-Y/N-Mode. Tteokboki is on the table, set up in a fancy manner and she missed it! She grins at you in a very cheeky manner, apologetic but also very thankful for the effort you've made, and you can't help the roll of your eyes as you push her to sit down. You take the seat across from her, and you notice the way she seems to be alight and vibrating with excitement.
"What's got you so bubbly?" You ask, and she looks at you like you grew two heads, she gestures to the Tteokboki infront of her. It makes you laugh "She's so cute." You think to yourself. "Go on then! Tell me what you think!"
Irene/Bae Joohyun:
Tumblr media
Shy
The moment she takes the first spoonful of food, her eyes widen and she stiffens up. She looks down at the food like she hasn't eaten in days but she moves slow, eats slow. She clears her throat, taking in spoon after spoon with adequate intervals between them, but sitting up ramrod straight with a stiff posture. It then comes to your mind that Joohyun is doing her best to look graceful infront of you.
Ever the undeniable clumsy dork that tries to appear serious and refined when really, she's a child at heart.
Kang Seulgi:
Tumblr media
Expressive
Her arms wiggle at her sides before she takes a big bite, and as soon as the first drop of food hit her tongue, she starts to gobble up the plate set infront of her like she hasn't eaten in days. Like a hungry bear, taking in bite after bite. You sit in your chair with your mouth wide open.
You knew youdid good, but you didn't think you did that good.
Wendy/Son Seungwan:
Tumblr media
Talkative
Ever the vocalist, both on stage and off stage- Seungwan doesn't miss the chance to pay you compliments every chance she gets. Puffing one cheek full of food before talking, looking like a disfigured chipmunk. You shake your head before taking your own bite of food.
"Wannie, please, chew or talk but don't try multitasking."
Joy/Park Sooyoung:
Tumblr media
Comedic
Sooyoung immediately stands up while chewing, she exaggerates fake jogging ehile coming over to your seat. With a spoon mid-air, almost to your mouth in confusion of your girlfriend's antics, you furrow your eyebrows out of habit. She does a little happy dance before raising one of her hands for a high-five, the other one beckoning you to give her what she wants.
With a roll of your eyes, while dramatically leaning back on your seat- Eventually you relent and grant Sooyoung her awaited high-five.
Kim Yerim:
Tumblr media
Encouraging
Yerim takes a spoonful, looks you in the eyes and starts to lightly nod her head to communicate her approval of your cooking skills. You ask her if she's sure she liked it, and the light nodding turns into full on headbanging. How she hasn't rendered herself dizzy, or how she managed to not chew her tongue off is beyond you. But one thing's for sure:
She never fails to put a smile on your face multiple times a day.
--------------------٩(◕‿◕。)۶--------------------
A/N: Ahhhh, finally. The first real work after a hiatus...
twenty five twenty one didn't have REALISTIC final because:
1- heedo and yijin broke up but seriosly after all they have been through? they loved each other and they knew it. they could try to change somethings? yijin changed his career for heedo and heedo supported him always. heedo understood him always. even when he left without saying anything. i think she could understand again and yijin could TRY better. because he knew heedo felt alone all the time. their break up reason was nonsense. EVEN NOW she went to tunnel!! how could she marry someone else? who is he? how could he change heedo's mind? why minchae's father never showed up? WHO IS HE? i mean they married BEFORE yurim and jiwoon! how!
2- i'm proud of yijin's career. he managed to unite his family but what happened later? is he married? does he have a child?
3- seungwan was rebel, brave and smart. how could she end up doing a "boring" job? she quited school for her friends. i think she could easily quit her boring job too. and her father's funeral was weird... we didn't even know she had a father, like seriously? a father? now?
4- i'm happy for yurim and jiwoong but we could watch their wedding. don't tell me others (including yijin) weren't invited. also what happened to yurim and heedo's friendship? why minchae doesn't know yurim?
Pick a Red Velvet Member - What type of friend are you?
How to do this reading
1. Be calm and be comfortable. Close your eyes. Focus on the question. Then pick the member in the photo below for your reading.
2. Do not pick your bias. Just pick who draws you in the most from the photo. If you are drawn to more than 1 member, then check out that other reading too. This is a general reading so take what resonates and leave what doesn't behind!
Front to back
#1. Wendy/Son Seungwan
#2. Yeri/Kim Yerim
#3. Irene/Bae Juhyun
#4. Kang Seulgi
#5. Joy/Park Sooyoung
Tumblr media
1. Wendy/Son Seungwan
Tumblr media
You are like a parent to your friends. They like to seek you for advice. You also like to parent them a lot. You like to lecture them or share your knowledge with them. They enjoy ranting/complaining to you or sharing their feelings with them.
You look after your friends a lot. You genuinely care about them and will take time to listen to their concerns. You are patient with them. Sometimes you get tired of being an "emotional trash bin".
You are generally known as the mature one among your friends. You trust your close friends a lot. You can sometimes be too generous and people can take advantage of you. When you really think someone is your friend, they are like family to you. You won't ditch your friends for your lover. You are very loyal as a friend.
2. Yeri/Kim Yerim
Tumblr media
You are the fun and hyper friend. You are very energetic and love to have fun. You light up the room. You generally have a lot of friends but not many deep friendships.
You love to try new things. You're often the one calling up or messaging people to hang out. You love chatting with others too. You love socializing with friends and just chilling with them. You love doing activities with them too.
3. Irene/Bae Juhyun
Tumblr media
You are very independent. You have very few friends. You keep to yourself mostly. You either don't mind being lonely or do feel lonely with the lack of friends you have. You can sometimes secretly admire people who have a lot of friends.
You may be too busy to hang out with friends or meet friends. It's also possible that you are in an environment that's hard for you to make friends. Another possibility is that you have closed off yourself due to pain from the past. You may also are being bullied or have been bullied. It's also possible that you are or were a bully.
You tend to be more interested in your hobbies, career, school work and etc than about friendships.
4. Kang Seulgi
Tumblr media
You have some friends, but not too many where your social circle gets messy. You like having deeper, more meaningful connections. It can take you some time to open up to someone fully. You take your time to observe someone before making sure they can really be your friend.
Usually others approach you first to be friends but sometimes you will approach them too. You often meet friends unexpectedly like through group projects, work, friend of friends, online platforms, etc. It somehow feels like fate to connect with them.
Your friends can sometimes feel you're sort of quirky or offbeat but they appreciate your humor and friendliness. They think you're pretty unique and interesting.
5. Joy/Park Sooyoung
Tumblr media
Your friendships tend to be pretty superficial. You can hang out with people and have fun, but these sort of friendships are mostly just for fun or business. You have very, very few trustworthy and reliable friends. It's possible you have none too. Your friends are mostly there to use or gain from you in some way. The friendships feel very fake like those Instagram posts where people take photos of the friendship just to show off.
You can party a lot with your friends like go out with them to events, clubs, concerts, etc. You bond mostly with your friends via interests; however, nothing personal or deep is exchanged. Most of the talk is about gossip, drama, or the interests that you share. In some ways you can feel rather lonely despite seemingly having a group of friends.
Pt. 1
Wendy x Reader
You and Seungwan is now in 3 years in a relationship. But something change in her, she always not in home or go home late, and she reply to your text after several hours.
Your worried, that's why you decided to visit her in her office. While you walked tp the corridor some of her employee greet you with an awkward smiled. You noticed that but you decided to ignore it and continue to walk to Wendy's office.
While you stand in ftont of her office door you inhaled. Opening the the door slowly you was totally in shocked to see Wendy with this girl back hugging her and rest her head on Wendy's shoulder.
"Y/n" Called seungwan who is now very shocked to see you
"Oh, I'm sorry? I guess I disturb your romantic time." You said sarcastically looking to Wendy and you walked out in her office
"Y/n, wait" Wendy called you while running to reach your arms
"Let me explain" she said in watery eyes. You turn around and look to her eyes in a cold gaze.
"It's not what you think! I-its just nothing, we're not in a relationship you are thinking, it's just..." Explained panic Seungwan who doesn't know what to say next
"It's just what?" Asking her in a cold tone
"She's being so clingy to me and I cant, I don't know, I-m, im just"
"Enjoyed?"
"No! I don't! I don't love her Y/n, please"
"You don't love her but you always go home late and you really not going home! Where do you spend your night? One more, you didn't reply to my text or not answering my phone calls, and you what? She just nothing to you? What the stupid excuse Seungwan!!!" You said, this time you can't control your anger you want to say what you feel right now
"I'm sorry"
"Ha! I'm sorry? I guess we should stop this Wendy"
"No! Please, dont! I'm sorry please don't leave me" she said while crying
You don't know what to do. Your mind says you better to stop this but your heart says it's better if you fix this. You love her, you really love her. While you are thinking she hug you and murmured a hundreds of sorry. You back to reality and say to yourself to give her a second chance.
But after a weeks you feel like you being so irritated everytime you two are together. You don't want to to feel this way, because you know you still love her. But you can't control your emotion. Everytime she was near you, your mood suddenly change.
One day, you are at the grocery store to buy some kind of ingredients you needed. And you hear someone called your name in nowhere, you look to the side where the sound is coming from. You shocked when you saw yoyr Highschool friend smiling and running to hug you. You smile back and hug her.
"Y/n how are you?" Joy asking you in a very happy and loud tone
"I'm okay, how about you? You didn't message me anymore when you go to America" you said while pouting. Joy giggled to your reaction
"I'm sorry, I'm very busy in school! College is suck!" She said while rolling her eyes remembering the worsts days in her college life.
"Let's eat together" she said. You agreed and you two go to a restaurant near at the grocery store
You spend your time together that day till night. You missed one another very much. She tell you the things she experienced when she was in abroad. And her life now when she was back at your country.
"She didn't change, she still the Joy I know" you thought
"Let's go home, it's late" she said while smiling. You smiled at her
"Let's go"
-------
You park your car in front of her house.
"Goodbye Y/n, let's meet again next time" she wave her hand and unlock the car door to get out.
When you got home. All the lights are now turned off. When you go to your room, you see Wendy sleeping while hugging her olaf toy. You look at her for a second and you go to the bathroom to take a bath and do your routines. After that you go to your bed and thinking about Joy. You're happy. You know your happy cuz finally you saw your highschool friend after a long time.
After a weeks you always spend your time to Joy, you two always eat finner together after your work.
Wendy in the other hand know this things between you and Joy.
She was in her meeting place when she saw you laughing with this girl. Till that day she always hunting you and this mysterious girl.
"Why you don't confront her?" Asking her friend Seulgi
"I-i can't Seul, what if she was getting mad at me and asked me that if I can do it to her why she can't?" She simply answered in a sad face. Seulgi rolled her eyes and feel so sad to her friend.
You woke up and you smell the pancakes. You sure that Wendy was the one who cook. You get out of your bed and go to the bathroom to do your morning routine. After that you go to kitchen and saw Wendy preparing the foods. You quietly sit at the chair and wait her to sit next to you.
"Good morning y/n" Wendy great you. You just smile and start to eat. Wendy smiled dropped and focus to her pancake. There was a deadly silence between you two. Till Wendy talk first
"Y/n, let's have a movie marathon later." She said, her heart beats so fast
"Alright" You simply replied. She smile big
"I will order a pizza" she said. You nodded and continue to eat your pancake and excuse yourself when your done to prepare to your work.
Past 9 in the evening when you got home. And all the things was ready for the movie marathon
"Oh fuck" you murmured to yourself and look for Wendy
You actually forgot that you and Wendy will have a movie marathon when Joy texted you to meet her at the cafe in 7pm. Ofcourse you two spend you time together while telling her stories about her day
You felt so guilty when you found Seungwan, and says a sorrys because your late. You two still continue your marathon. But Seungwan is hurt. She can't focus on the movie because she knew why you're late. She know you and Joy seeing each other again. She don't want to think of it but she can't. She feel her heart clenching and she wants to cry.
"Y/n, are you happy with her?" She suddenly asked you. Your shocked, you knew she knows about you and Joy. You think for a second and answer her
"Yes" It's true your happy with Joy, but not the kind of happiness you feel with Wendy before
"D-do you love her?" She asked you again while sobbing
"I... guess." You know your lying but you still answer that word.
"Im so sorry y/n, I-i love you, and yeah, I'm... I'm gonna... I will - I will let you go" she said while sobbing
You look to Wendy, when you see her crying, you want to hug her and say that she was wrong, because Joy is your friend only. Your heart clenched, that time you feel that you still love her. But you stop yourself, you thought that maybe you two needed a time to think.
"Thank you" you murmured but you make sure Wendy will hear it. You stand and go to your shared room.
Wendy face palm and cried to her hands. She hurt she can feel her heart broke into pieces. She's not sure if she can move on and continue her life without you. She really love you. She really really do. But she can't blame you nor asking for a chance because she knew you doesn't love her anymore. And think that it's all her fault. That's why she respect your decision and try her very best to forget about you.
Tumblr media
Lame. Lame. Lame😂 Sorry this is my first story ever! If my grammar is wrong, I'm so sorry😅
Red Velvet Making Up For Slapping Their S/O
--------------------------------------------------
Requested? ☑
"Looking back on the things I've done."
--------------------٩(◕‿◕。)۶--------------------
Tick tock, tick tock.
"That damn clock has never been this annpying before." She says to herself as she stands up from her seat on the couch. It's 4 in the afternoon and you're usually home by this time, maybe you got caught up in traffic or maybe something held you up at work or maybe you just don't want to see her.
She shakes her head, starting to pace back and forth infront of the coffee table. Thinking negatively won't help her now, although it's difficult not to when the two of you wouldn't be in this situation had it not been for her failure to keep herself in check. She hopes that you'll come home today, instead of some other day within the week, it has been three days after her mistake however she doesn't blame you if you decide to take more time away from her. At her constant pacing combined with her lack of attention, she ends up accidentally bumping her leg on the side of the table and it makes her sit back down. As she nurses her leg which she's sure will bruise some time tonight, her mind is brought back to how she's spent the past three days preparing her apology.
Bae Joohyun/Irene:
Tumblr media
Unsure
Irene spent the last three days taking her stress out on the apartment. Doing laundry, mopping the kitchen, dusting everything, sweeping everywhere, washing every single dish that ends up on the sink instead of stacking them up. She figured you'd like time alone so she refrained from picking up her phone and spamming you with apologies.
She's made dinner, recalling how you used to tell her that you loved her cooking so much so that you'd always choose eating at home instead of outside whenever Irene felt like making things.
She's never been great at talking, and although she's surely apologize verbally she hopes that her gestures can do most of the legwork for her. Irene fidgets on the couch once more. Glancing at the clock on the wall.
5:00
As the sound of jingling keys reaches her ears, Irene smiles in relief and her eyes tear up, glad that she has a chance to make up for her wrongdoing.
Kang Seulgi:
Tumblr media
Gestures
She had gone out and gotten ingredients for your favorite smoothie and meal, as well as a bouquet of flowers. She's not as great as her group leader when it came down to cooking but she does her best as it's the thought that counts in her mind. The bouquet, because she's unsure what says "I'm sorry." other than words and she didn't want the apology to feel as if she hadn't given thought to it.
Because for the past three days, all she's done is think about how she can apologize without getting sidelined and talking your ear off. She figures she'll wing the apology speech.
But as the clock reads 5:00 and the lock to the front door starts to turn, all that Seulgi's mind seems to come up with to say is a panicked "I'm sorry!"
Son Seungwan/Wendy:
Tumblr media
Paper
Wendy knew she wouldn't be able to face you and keep her thoughts in order long enough to say a coherent apology while looking you directly in the eyes. So the songwriter did what she does best for the past three days she wrote and wrote and wrote.
She wrote down all the apologies that came to her mind whenever they came to her mind, she wrote the things she wanted to say to you for the past three days only to find out that you weren't there with her, and she's kept the letters neatly stacked on the top drawer of her nightstand.
As the sound of the front door opening reaches her ears, Wendy hurriedly scrambles to the bedroom to grab the letters from her safe keeping place.
Park Sooyoung/Joy:
Tumblr media
Determined
Sooyoung is quiet in her solitude, but more determined than ever. She refuses to give up without a fight, not when you're her one in a million. So as she's left alone she does her research on how to not act so impulsively in heated situations, talks to her group members, asks them for advice, does her best to keep her solo schedules scheduled so that you'll have more time together should you decide to take her back- She desperately hopes you will.
She's never been a great cook, she's not even on the level of a good cook if she's being honest, but she does know how much you love food and so she's kept her ordering app on hand, non-stop for the past three days, always ready to hit "Place Order" once she's sure you're coming home.
As your eyes meet from across the room when you step foot inside of the apartment, Sooyoung falters with the phone as her eyesight turns blurry. As her chest starts to constrict with emotions she doesn't know how to process, she can't help but feel as if she's the one who has come home as she feels your presence from the other side of the room.
Kim Yerim/Yeri:
Tumblr media
Stuck
The past three days felt like a torturous breeze to Yerim. The events had never left her mind and every time she walks into the bedroom, the sound of the slap and the sound of the shutting door rings in her ears. She tries to get on with life as normally as she could, doing her utmost to take care of the apartment and herself because you always did chastise her workaholic self for her neglectful habits.
Yerim knows she'll apologize, she's been wanting to ever since the second she made her mistake. But she doesn't know how she's going to do that, she's unsure as to what sort of gesture can convey tht she fully regrets what she has done. She's spent the days trying to come up with a plan but none of them felt natural. Planning never was her thing, she was always more spontaneous than the rest of her group members. As she takes this detail into account, she couldn't help but scoff bitterly at herself as that spontaneity is what led to this situation in the first place.
But all that's in the past, and what matters is the "Now" Especially when you're no less than an arm's length away from her. Yerim has trouble meeting your eyes and she struggles to say the two words she wants to say. As she feels your arms tentatively wrap around her, engulfing her in that feeling of safety she's missed for what felt like a lifetime- Yerim lets the tears go as she whispers countless apologies into your shoulder.
