Five Senses - Part Two
Chapter Four
Tumblr media
"Are you out of your mind!?!" Sunny yelled at him. "What do you think you were doing back there? Do you want to start a war at this rate?"
While the other two stared at him, Taeyong grunted and stood up in a haste, walked around the room until he reached his table, and in one swipe threw everything off. Before he could go any further, which would mean a destructed room, Sunny held him back with her strength and pushed him back to sit.
"What's wrong Taeyong!?!" she grabbed his shoulders. "What happened!?!"
"EVERYTHING'S WRONG!" he yelled back pushing her away. He turned to both Hendery and Yuta, his eyes softening at the sight of them backing up. "Their mothers, all of our half siblings and their mothers, their families... You can have only one soulmate, yet dad threw theirs in prison and kept them for himself. He broke families! He nearly did the same to Seulgi's mother while she was already pregnant. That's why she was in the human world, because they ran away. Her father hid them, and when dad tried to find her, he got all the other families to fight against him. But guess what, dad exiled them right away. Why else do you think Johnny was exiled? The revolution or whatever his parents took part in was for a damn good reason. Someone like dad doesn't deserve to be king! Now Seulgi left me because she cant bare to live in this palace let alone have me, the crown prince of that psychopath vampire king, as her soulmate!"
+
Seulgi laid in her bed, her pillow wet with tears as she slowly stopped crying. Her mother laid beside her combing her daughter's hair as she had been doing for the longest time, ever since she found her like this almost an hour ago and heard what had happened. She was horrified, somewhat even disgusted, that her own daughter was tied soulmates with the son of the man who broke families and had affairs.
But she was a firm believer that such occurrences have a reason, that it happened for something better to follow. While Seulgi shifted and moved into her mother's arms and drapped an arm over her waist, the elder woman figured that the most obvious reason would be for Seulgi to be the one to fix the corrupted mess the king had created. But as valiant as it sounds, being the only child and family she had, she couldn't let her child go through such a tough mission.
"My dear girl..." the elder woman whispered into her daughter's hair. "My baby, what did we do for you to go through this... Why did it have to be you? You're such a sweet woman, gifted with the kindest of hearts, you see nothing but beautiful things even in the most darkest of times... Why you?"
Seulgi fell asleep in her mother's arms, tired from all the crying. Her mother looked down at her with sorrowful eyes and laid a kiss on her forehead before tucking her in with her favourite childhood big teddy bear and leaving the room.
She stayed up that night, sitting out in their front yard looking at the sky, thinking about the state her daughter and where her husband could have been. It had been over fifty years since she last saw him, but her love never changed and she never lost hope knowing one day he'd come back and they could be one again.
"Excuse me?" she jumped at the sudden voice and turned to see a man standing a bit far from her. "Oh no, please don't be afraid of me. I'm..."
"Who are you?" she stood up as her eyes glowed red, but the man quickly came closer and held her hands, suddenly kneeling down.
"Please listen to me, I'm Taeyong, Seulgi's soulmate, the son of the king who... ruined your family." his pleads shocked her and she quickly pulled her hands away from him. "I came to talk to you, please. I know you hate my family to the core and you have every right to do so. But please, we didn't know about any of this. We were taught wrong, and I hate this all as much as you do. But I love Seulgi, and I don't want to lose her. I just want help, to find a way for me to still be with her. You're her mother, you must know something that can convince her to take me back. I won't force her to stay at the palace with us, I'll move here if I have to, just please... I need her..."

Five Senses - Part Two
Chapter Two
Tumblr media
"Wow... You're so pretty." he said staring at her from afar making her chuckle. "Are you Taeyong's soul mate? If not, I might have a chance when I become an adult."
"She's mine Minhyung!" Taeyong cut him off, causing the boy to frown. Seulgi chuckled, then looked to see a lady staring at her, then at Taeyong.
"Looks like someone found their soul mate." she said as she motioned Seulgi to sit with them. "I'm Sunny, his eldest sister. How did you two meet?"
"At a club, in the human world."
Sunny sighed and shook her head before looking at Taeyong who sat next to Seulgi. "I guess you're soul mates for a reason, very daring and adventurous."
Taeyong giggled, but Seulgi remained silent. "Actually, I live there." she said, causing all heads to turn to her. Sunny sat across her, staring at her the same way everyone else did.
"You're a vampire right?" she asked to which Seulgi nodded. "Oh. That's a relief. Then, how come you live there?"
Looking down to her hands she bit her lips thinking what to say. But before she could even finish thinking, someone ran into the room panting, then whispered something into Taeyong's ear. Seulgi noticed how the man looked like a guard of some sort, then saw Taeyong's exhausted expression.
"Dad wants us to meet up... Minhyung, Sunny, Donghyuck and I." the said people all sighed and got up leaving at a time. Taeyong looked back at Seulgi for a second and kissed her cheek. "Just go back to our room once you're done. I'll be back."
After they left Seulgi looked around confused and noticed everyone else keeping quiet. One girl looked at her and smiled, knowing she had many questions. She shifted to the chair next to her and spoke.
"I'm Hina. Looks like you have a lot of questions." she snickered a little.
"Well... One would be why did they look so pessimistic about seeing your dad?"
Hina smiled a little sadly before answering. "Well, we're all actually half siblings. Our dad is the same, but different mothers. For me, it's just my brother and I, our mother is from the Japanese clan."
Seulgi furrowed her eyebrows confused. "But, we only have one soul mate right?"
"Yes, well our dad doesn't follow that. Just now, the four of them, they're the only children with his soul mate. Rest of us different women. Mine and Renjun's mother are the only two foreigners, the rest of them are Korean."
"What do you mean the rest?" Seulgi asked shocked. "How many are there?"
"If I counted correctly, I think ten?"
Seulgi's mouth hung open in shock, unable to believe how unfaithful this man could be. A hand pushed it close, and she looked to see another young boy smiling at her. "It's not all bad, we have many siblings and it's quite fun. If anything, the four of them have it hard considering they bear a bigger responsibility. But he doesn't really hate any of us... well, except Yuta."
"SHUT UP NA JAEMIN!" Hina suddenly shouted as she stood up angrily. "Why do you always have to bring him into this!?!"
Seulgi quickly held Hina, not wanting a fight to break out, and sat her back down. She then looked at Jaemin who only sighed. "She should know, I doubt Taeyong has told her much. Remember what happened when Joohyun found her soul mate? Dad was mad that it was an exiled man."
Exile? Seulgi suddenly became even more curious than before. "Uh, Jaemin right?" she asked and the boy nodded. "What do you mean exile?"
"Well, one of our half sisters, Joohyun, she was visiting the Japanese clan, when she found her soul mate there. But it turns out he's from here, but he was exiled so he moved to Japan. When she brought him back by force, dad was furious because he was one of the people who revolted years ago. She ended up fighting with him so bad, she almost left the place. But Donghyuck's mum, the real soul mate, got him to exempt his exile to keep Joohyun. They moved out though, they just live nearby now."
Hina felt Seulgi's grasp on her arm tighten and could tell something was wrong. "What revolt?" Seulgi asked again.
"Didn't you learn about it? There was only one ever revolt, and it was against our dad by some vampires who didn't want to be ruled under him. We learn about it in school, but according to our books no one knows what the reason is, it happened even before Sunny was born."
Taking a deep breath Seulgi stood up and looked at Hina. "Who exactly is your father?"
The two looked at her weirdly, then at each other confused before Hina answered. "You mean the king?"
They watched as she stormed out, going who knows where since she wasn't yet familiar with the the building, but she was visibly mad. Her eyes red as ever, she somehow found her way back to Taeyong's room and started to take her things together. A hand grabbed hers and pulled her to turn, coming face to face with Taeyong.
"I saw you walking, what happened? Did someone do something to you? Tell me now." he grabbed her shoulders and urged her, only for her to push him away. Taeyong stood confused and watched her walk around to get her things. "Seulgi what's wrong? Tell me please. Why do you look like you're leaving?"
Seulgi finally turned to him, and he saw her eyes gleaming red again. "You're the crown prince, aren't you?"
"Uh... Yes I am?" he answered more as if questioning.
"Do you know why you found me in the human world?"
"No, but I assumed you were there for that night, like me."
Seulgi realised what Jaemin had said. They only know what they were taught at school. They don't know the real story about the revolt against their father.
The story of her missing father.

Lee Taeyong X Kang Seulgi

"Baby have you got your report card yet?" Taeyong asked while buttoning his shirt and walking out of his bedroom. His eyes scanned the living room until it fell on the figure of the ten year old laying on the couch lazily, groaning as a response. "Hurry up, let me sign it before you go today." he ordered heading into the kitchen.
The young girl sighed before getting up and fixing back her school uniform, taking out a file from her backpack and handing it to her father at the dining table, where he drank his coffee. Taeyong took it and looked through the card.
"B- in Geography?" he looked at his daughter, raising an eyebrow.
"The teacher is mean OK!" she exclaimed. "I swear daddy she absolutely hates kids and decided to teach just to punish us."
Taeyong chuckled watching the girl pout and slouch into the chair opposite to him, shaking his head before taking out a pen from his pocket and signing the card, handing it back to her.
"Well, you still got As and Bs mostly, so I guess that counts for a little present, don't you think?" he watched as she sat up straight with gleaming eyes, nodding enthusiastically causing her father to laugh.
A smile on his daughter's face was his immediate ecstasy, the cure for all the sadness he felt since her existence.
"After school today, I'll pick you and we'll go to the mall, you can pick out one thing, budget is 40,000 won."
The girl got up and ran to her father's side, hugging his neck tight. "I LOVE YOU DADDY YOU'RE THE BEST!"
"Wow, all for one present huh." he fake sulked, making the girl sigh in exasperation, and he just laughed at her, giving a soft kiss to her cheek. "Go get your bag now, you'll be late."
>>>
"Seojin please calm down." Seulgi's voice shook as she didn't know what to do anymore, her one year old fussing in her arms as she sat in the clinic. She was so tired, but couldn't rest a second at the thought of her baby sick to the point of crying.
"Kang Seojin." she looked up as the nurse finally called them in after what felt like forever, and quickly headed in to the doctor's office with her daughter in one hand and the baby bag in her other. She was quick to fall into the patient's seat opposite the doctor, who was focused on his screen before turning to them.
"Hello, I'm Dr Lee." he greeted, and Seulgi responded. "So this is Kang Seojin, one year old, baby girl, right?" she nodded, and noticed the doctor eyes her fussing baby who had calmed for a second when seeing the new face. The doctor typed away in his computer, before motioning her to sit on the bed and lay Seojin on it.
"So what seems to be the problem Ms?" he asked taking is stethoscope off his neck.
Seulgi looked at her baby still fussing uncomfortably, pulling on her shirt as a sign to carry her again. "She's been like this since yesterday, it's never happened before so I'm incredibly worried. I don't know what to do, it doesn't seem like she's got a temperature, and everything else seems normal. I'm so scared and tired..."
The man took note of the baby's breathing, who had calmed again slightly feeling the cold metal pressed to her chest. Seulgi watched as the doctor smiled at her, making playful expressions while moving the stethoscope around. She wondered if he had listened to her at all with how attentive he was being to Seojin's behaviour, but she knew paediatrics were very smart.
"OK, her breathing seems normal." he put the tool away, then looked at Seulgi, pointing to the baby's little dress. "May I?"
Seulgi stared confused, until she realised what he was asking permission for and felt touched, nodding immediately. He lifted the dress and with light fingers pressed around her tummy, making sounds at the same time to entertain the infant. She watched the way he interacted with her daughter, and almost felt sad if not for the fact she was in public.
"OK, seems like she's a bit bloated." he put her dress down and sat the infant up, holding her hands and playing with them a little as he continued speaking. "I suspect she's having trouble with gas. Has there been any irregularity in her meals? Or maybe something new you've been feeding her recently?"
Seulgi stared at her daughter and thought for a while. She hasn't fed her anything new in the time she's been sick this way, so the only option could be the first.
With a guilty face, she looked at him and answered. "It might have been the meal times. I work as a teacher, and uhm, she only has me, and I only have her..." she bit her bottom lip trying to stop herself from sounding pitiful. "I take her with me to the school and keep her in the day care part time which is free for me as a staff, but I've had to take an extra afternoon class recently, so she stays there a little longer than usual, so me feeding her gets delayed until I get home..."
The man stared a little perplexed. "Doesn't the daycare feed her?"
"They do, I still have to pay just that because she's so young so she requires special meal preparations, but I can only afford to do one for her in the time she's there. She does have some baby snacks in case, but it's not really enough to count as a meal you know..."
Seulgi felt ashamed as her flaws as a mother laid out to the doctor, and she could only pray he didn't judge her or spread the news of a mother being this incompetent. She watched as he stared at Seojin deep in thought, before picking her up and placing the infant on her lap, motioning her to come back to the table.
Once they sat, he typed away in his computer before speaking again. "I see no father listed in her records?" her eyes widened, even more embarrassment washing over her as she nodded.
"She has one, biologically, but... he didn't want anything to do with a baby. It's been just been me since then."
"Well, I can give you a prescription to help with her current bloating, however if her missing a meal continues it won't help in the long run."
He saw how she clearly hated that hypothesis. "What can I do? I took up an extra class for more salary just enough for us two. I can't afford them to feed her twice either." she felt her voice nearly crack, quickly looking away and taking deep breaths to stop herself breaking down.
The doctor rested his chin on his hand, elbow on the table, as he thought about a solution. "How about babysitting?"
"I can't offer enough for people to accept..."
He was deep in thought again, before suddenly raising his brows as if making a discovery. "How about someone young? They won't ask for much." Seulgi stared at him confused, which he clearly noticed before continuing. "You see, I am a single parent myself actually. I have a ten year old daughter, and she goes to the local private academy. The issue is, their classes start eight and end at two, not nine to five like the public schools, and due to office hours I also get off at five. She ends up going home alone, and honestly I trust her but it worries me."
Seulgi empathised deeply with him. She knew despite him having a higher paid job than her and being able to afford niceties more, being a single parent was never easy no matter what.
He continued as she nodded, assuring she was listening. "You work at the local public school right?" he asked, to which she nodded. "Great, hers is just a few minutes walk from there. If you don't mind, I was thinking maybe she could watch Seojin after her classes. That way you won't have to pay double for the daycare meals, and considering she's only ten you won't have to offer too much for babysitting fees either. As her father, I can assure you that it's fine."
Seulgi took his idea seriously, her mind crossing out thr pros and cons of it all. "How will she watch her? I mean like, where?"
"Well, I usually use my lunch break to pick her up and drop her."
Seulgi still wasn't convinced. "But, you don't know my house, and I'm not sure I can let Seojin go to another one like that just yet."
He realised her concern, and nodded before responding. "Where do you live?"
"Well, it's a ten minute walk from the school..."
"Oh that's not far at all, I can just drop them there from now on, and pick her up after work."
"Are you sure?" hesitation filled her voice as she realised how burdensome it sounds on his part. "It sounds like a lot of trouble on your part..."
"It's not don't worry, your place sounds closer to here than mine, so it'll be quick too. I'm only offering because I'd like for her to pick up some responsibility instead of being alone for so long, and it's only for three to four hours."
After much more hesitation, mental debate, and some final thoughts, Seulgi decided it was the only option that doesn't compromise her daughter's health further, so she didn't have much of a choice anyways. Sighing, she agreed to the idea, planning for a meet up first before the young girl would start her job.
The doctor wrote something on two separate note pages. "I'll write her prescription to get her current bloating down, you can pick it up at the counter. And here's my number." he passed both papers across his table as they stood, and smiled putting his hand out. "My full name's Lee Taeyong by the way, my daughter is Lee Yoora."
>>>
After a quick lunch meet at a cafe, where Seulgi saw how Yoora adored Seojin and clearly showed signs of being responsible, she finally agreed wholly to the plan, and now sat in her classroom staring at the clock. Yoora should have picked up her daughter by now and already reach their home, and she had promised to let Seulgi know when she does.
Seulgi had left a pre-prepared meal for Seojin, as well as some lunch for Yoora, and left instructions for everything on a paper on the fridge. If her instincts were right during their meet up, Yoora should have no issue navigating everything.
Her phone dinged, and she was quick to grab and check the notification.
Lee Yoora: hi! we reached your home, Seojin fell asleep, do you want me to wake her and feed or wait?
She let out a sigh of relief, and smiled at how seriously the young girl took her job.
Me: hi yoora, glad to hear that. it's time for her afternoon nap, so why don't you go ahead and eat first. lay her on her mat in the living room and check on the fridge, I've left some directions, and lunch for you in the fridge
Yoora sent back a thumbs up, and Seulgi relaxed, focusing back on her classroom where students started coming in after lunch time. Unlike before she felt much calmer teaching the class, though hints of worry did wash over every now and then at the thought of whether Seojin was doing OK.
As soon as school ended, she clocked out and went home right away. She stood in front of the door, taking a deep breath to steady herself, then opened it to find the house completely calm and quiet. She went in further until she heard a soft giggle from Seojin, and finally peeked into their living room/dining space to see Yoora on the table doing work, while her own daughter sat in her baby seat next to her simply entertained by the jingling fluffy pen the older girl was using to write. Yoora was smiling too, and Seulgi watched a bit longer when the ten year old looked back at the infant and teased her with the fluffy end, causing her to laugh more.
Her heart tickled at the sight of her baby so happy in the care of someone else. Seulgi had felt so alone since having Seojin, with the man leaving her, and her family living too far away to be able to help at all, she was overjoyed that there was someone else her baby could finally learn to trust. She had feared Seojin might have had a separation issue from her, but luckily that wasn't the case as she sees now.
"I'm home." she decided to finally announce herself and entered, greeting Yoora before taking her daughter and kissing her cheek. "I see you two had fun today." she chuckled as she spoke, before turning back to Yoora. "I'll take her now, why don't you finish your work while I make us something to eat?"
"Oh no I don't want to bother you." Yoora waves her hands, but Seulgi shook her head.
"It's fine, you'll need nutrients to keep you brain running."
>>>
Their routine soon became natural, and Taeyong was the most relieved when seeing how happy Yoora had been the past couple of months whenever he picked her up. Sometimes he'd end up a little late due to patient emergencies, but Seulgi reassured him it was no issue for her, and if anything it was more helpful as she was able to get more done without worrying abt Seojin. Yoora also loved the arrangement as Seulgi being a teacher helped her with some schoolwork.
"Daddy we should invite them over next weekend. It's Ms Seulgi's birthday on the tenth, I wanna do something special for her." Taeyong listened to his daughter, and hummed in response. He figured it would be a good way for the two adults to get closer, especially considering he barely knew about them as much as Seulgi knew his side.
Once he tucked away Yoora for bed, he went to his room and pulled out his phone, thinking for a little before sending a text.
Taeyong: good evening seulgi. how are you & the little one?
He waited a few minutes before a reply came in.
Seulgi: hi dr taeyong, we're doing well
Taeyong: great to hear!
Taeyong: so yoora & I were wondering if you'd like to join us for dinner next week, say Saturday?
Seulgi: oh, I think it should be fine. what's the occasion?
Taeyong thought for a second, before deciding to make it a surprise.
Taeyong: just a simple dinner party
Seulgi felt hesitant despite having agreed to it already, and once the day came she stressed about what to wear and dress Seojin in. In the end she settled for a simple sleeveless yellow dress, reaching just below her knees, and a black cardigan over it. She then dressed Seojin in a similar yellow dress with ruffled sleeves and white tights.
She called a taxi and reached the Lees apartment just according to their agreed time, following the text of instructions on which floor and house number to head to. As she stood in the elevator, one hand with the baby bag and the other carrying Seojin, she suddenly felt a slight wave of tension. She didn't know why, but she felt oddly nervous entering Taeyong's living space. They've barely met much ever since the arrangement, just simple greetings exchanged when he picked up Yoora, and once more when she went for a follow up check for Seojin with him.
The elevator stopped, and she sighed stepping out and finding their door. The apartments weren't luxurious, nothing more than simple and modest, but still nicer than what she could afford. Another wave of nervousness washed over her until she found their door, taking a deep breath before ringing the bell.
The door swung open fast as a beaming child appeared. "Hi Ms Seulgi! Come on in!" Yoora cheered, taking the bag from her hand and leading her inside to the living room. "Sit here. My dad's coming out, food is ready too, even for Seojin. Come on Seojin let's go play!" she spoke so fast before swooping the infant from her mother's arms and running to her room, where Seulgi could look into and saw a floor mat prepared for Seojin to play on.
"Hi." a deep voice from behind made her stand and turn, smiling at the man appearing before her in a white collar shirt and dress pants, the top two buttons of his shirt left open. "Yoora sure loves Seojin, she couldn't wait for you guys to come sooner, got ready way before me." he chuckled, motioning for her to sit again as he did next to her.
"I'm glad." Seulgi responded, her eyes drifting to the children again. "I've wanted for Seojin to grow up with people around her. But being alone with her doesn't give me much time for playdates." her voice drifted off, and Taeyong sympathised deeply. He hesitated in questioning the obvious, but figured it would be OK to do so given their similar situations.
"How about any family?"
Her eyes darted towards him, and he almost regretted asking it until she sighed and shook her head. "My parents aren't happy about everything. They still keep in touch, but they live back in our hometown so we barely meet unless during chuseok or seollal. Any other relatives... I just don't keep up with." she looked down at her lap, biting her lip which he noticed started quivering, before her eyes landed on Seojin again and she smiled sadly.
"I don't regret having her, I love my baby to the most. I just wish I could have given her a better life without so much... stress about others."
He didn't know what took over him when Taeyong's hand suddenly slide across the couch and held hers, their eyes fixed on each other as he gave it a reassuring squeeze. He waited for a little, until she gave one back, and they exchanged soft smiles before he released her hand.
Both parents unknowing of the spark each other felt inside.
"How about you?" Seulgi broke the silence. "What's your story with Yoora?"
Taeyong chuckled. "I guess it's only fair. Well, you can see she's quite old. I was a second year med student actually when her mother got pregnant. We weren't ready for anything obviously, but she gave birth to her still. But..." this time he sighed, eyes drifting towards his daughter, except unlike Seulgi, guilt took over his face before he spoke very softly. "I haven't told Yoora the truth. Her mother is alive and well, but her family was some rich powerful one. I honestly didn't know much about her considering we were just a fling to be honest, but when Yoora was born they forced her to give up the baby and transferred her to complete her studies overseas. She called me immediately to take Yoora, haven't seen her since."
He looked back at Seulgi, and chuckled again seeing her bewildered expression. He swore never to speak of this in his daughter's presence, but he was glad it finally get it off his chest and talk about it.
"My family was upset with me obviously, but my sister did her best to help until I finished my degree and started working at the hospital. Once I had enough I moved out with Yoora and well, here we are."
>
They sat for dinner, Seojin seated by her mother on Yoora's old baby seat while Yoora sat on her other side. Taeyong watched as the two paid attention to the infant, a new kind of happiness filling up in him. He's always wanted a domestic family life, but between his shifts at the hospital and raising Yoora, he had no time for meeting new people let alone finding the right one.
As they finished eating, the children were back in Yoora's room while he invited Seulgi out to the balcony, handing her a glass of wine. She accepted with a smile, and they stood in silence out in the dark night, both leaning against the railing of the balcony, looking anywhere and everywhere.
"Do you ever wonder what would your life be like if things were... different?" Seulgi's voice broke the silence, and he turned to see her gazing out at the city. He stared at her for a while before taking a sip, thinking of an answer.
He knew exactly what she meant.
"Sometimes... I love her, but this life isn't what I wished for her."
She sighed, eyes darting down to her drink. "Can I confess something?" she peeked to see him still staring at her, and nodding slightly. "I never wanted to be a teacher. Before this job, I had a basic corporate one just to keep things going for me. That's where I met my ex, and I thought things would go well between us. But... when I got pregnant, I knew I wanted to keep my baby, even when he rejected it and broke up with me. That's when I left that job and started as a teacher here."
She took a sip, waiting for some form of response. She saw through the corner of her eye how he looked at her, suddenly moving closer until they stood shoulder to shoulder.
"What was your dream job?"
"A mother."
Silence filled again, nothing but the sounds of the cars and few people going past the building down on the road. Taeyong kept his eyes on her, wondering if she was going to explain further. But she didn't, which wasn't exactly needed because he knew exactly what she meant.
"I wish the same." he spoke softly, her head finally turning towards him as their eyes met. "When Yoora was born, I was too young to care about my future. But now I know that, no matter how much I love her, this isn't what I wanted her to have. I want her to have a mother, siblings, a family life, something even the most capable single parent won't be able to fill up themselves."
They're eyes locked, a look of sympathy in both as they stared at each other for a while. Seulgi suddenly realised how long they had been staring, not to mention their close proximity, and quickly looked down shying away, taking a last swing of her wine. Like Taeyong, she had no time or space for a new relationship, especially when her daughter had just newly turned one. And as far as she had heard, no one wants to start a relationship where a child is a given from day one.
She peeked towards him again, and noticed his eyes stayed on her. Pursing her lips she turned to him fully, his glass now empty as he gazed at her, his eyes changed from sympathy to something else. He got up from leaning on his forearms and faced her as well, and she saw his eyes dart up and down her face.
"I'm glad you came into my office that day." he spoke softly, the distance between them getting smaller. "I see how happy Yoora is when coming home from you. She talks as if Seojin is her sister, even in school..."
She gave a shy smile in return. "I love having her around, and I know Seojin does too."
A quick smile appeared on his face before disappearing again, and Seulgi suddenly felt hot despite the light breeze.
Taeyong knew what he was thinking about wasn't exactly right, or wrong, it was in fact a very grey area. She was beautiful, she wanted the same as him, she brought everything he ever wanted to fix his life. The seal was his daughter loved her.
A gust of wind lightly blew past them, Seulgi blinking as some of her hair went onto her face. But before she could push it back, his hand was already up, fingers lightly pushing her hair off and putting it behind her ear. Their eyes locked for much longer, his hand still on the side of her face, his knuckles unconsciously tracing her jawline. She didn't move or flinch, not even when he suddenly cupped her cheek, his thumb rubbing her cheek this time.
The air felt heavy, Seulgi finding it hard to breathe all of a sudden. She wanted to move, but his touch felt so comforting all of a sudden.
"You've done well."
Three words, full of meaning. Seulgi had felt so stressed, scared, disappointed sometimes even with herself, she didn't realise that these three words was all she needed to hear to feel a wall break down in her heart. She felt so calmed, so soft, that she didn't bother to reject when his lips were suddenly on hers.
Taeyong played it safe, he moved close slowly, hovered his lips over hers at first, and when she remained still, he gave a soft kiss first. But once she kissed back, he let go of all hesitation as his hand moved to hold the back of her neck and pulled her closer as their kiss elongated.
Her skin felt like it was on fire, especially where he touched. She didn't know where it went, but his other hand was suddenly on her waist, simply placed there with no grip or push. Her one hand remained holding the wine glass by its stem while the other slowly gripped his shirt on his arm.
"Da-" they heard a light gasp, enough to break their kiss and quickly detach as they looked at the source of the sound, fear filling up both parents as they faced a still Yoora, looking as if she had faced Medusa and turned to stone.
No one spoke a word, Taeyong feeling guilty, Seulgi embarrassed, and Yoora still in shock. After about two minutes she gulped, looking at either adults, took a deep breath in, then out as she thought of what to say.
"So... you two a thing?"
"NO!" both parents simultaneously answered, shaking their heads.
Yoora looked more confused, then to their shock, a little disappointed. "Oh... thought it was a birthday miracle."
"Birthday?" Seulgi asked confused, to which the young girl covered her mouth before sighing.
"It was supposed to be a surprise. I remember your birthday was the past week, so I wanted to surprise you tonight. That's why I was calling you in actually." her eyes then turned to her father, who stood staring at the floor as if he was caught doing something shameful. "Was that your present or something daddy?"
Seulgi felt a tug at her heart. She hadn't celebrated her birthday since becoming pregnant, and even before that it was spent with a simple wish from her ex-coworkers during their lunch break. Her parents would send her gifts, but that was the most.
The father and daughter were quick to notice tears welling up in her eyes, and Taeyong signalled Yoora too take her inside to where she had readied the cake. She nodded and quickly grabbed Seulgi's hand, pulling her inside until the dining table, where Seojin was seated in the baby seat staring at the cake in awe.
"Mamma!" the infant called out to her mother, pointing towards the candles while laughing. Seulgi silently stared at the scene before her, feeling a deep warmth in the pit of her stomach at the words on the cake wishing her by name.
Happy Birthday to the most amazing mum, Seulgi
"Do you like it?" Yoora's voice took her out of her daze. "I wasn't sure what flavour you liked, but I noticed you baked red velvet cookies for your home so I got that!" she cheered a little shyly.
A tear finally spilled onto her cheek, but with a smile on her face as she nodded at the young girl. "I love it Yoora." she sniffed, when a hand cupped her cheek again, thumb wiping away her tear. She turned to see Taeyong next to her, and they smiled at each other. "Thank you both, you really didn't have to do this..."
"Of course we did." he replied. "You mean a lot to Yoora, she loves you. And well, you've taken a role in her life I could only attempt to."
Seulgi got the meaning behind his words, suddenly remembering the kiss back on the balcony. And through the rest of the night as they cut the cake and sat together talking, that memory flooded her mind every few seconds when she looked at the man in front of her.
Even as she went home and sobered up and laid in bed holding her daughter close to her chest, she started visioning how things would be if the four of them were a family.
Stop it Seulgi....
>>>
As the next week came, Seulgi sat with Yoora helping with her homework while waiting for her father to pick her up. Seojin was in her floor mat napping, her mother looking over at her every few minutes to keep her in check.
"Oh you know, Seojin said unnie today." Yoora suddenly spoke, getting Seulgi's attention off the book as she gasped with a smile. "I've been trying to make her say it to call me, took a few days but she did it. Is this how you felt when she first said mamma?"
Seulgi chuckled, filled with joy at the young girl's excitement. How she wished this was regular...
The bell rang, and she left Yoora to finish up to go open the door. Taeyong appeared with a smile, and a hand carrying three gift bags. She looked at them perplexed before giving him way into the living room, where he stopped and cooed at sleeping Seojin.
"What's all this?" she asked pointing to the three bags in his hand he had put down. He gave a more cheeky smile, then motioned her to sit next to her on the couch.
Yoora appeared out of the dining area, exclaiming softly at the sight of the bags before dashing to sit on her father's other side.
"I got off faster, but I knew Yoora would hate me picking her up earlier." he joked, getting a pout from the younger girl and a laugh from the woman. "I got some stuff for everyone."
Seulgi looked even more perplexed as he handed Yoora the smaller bag, which she immediately opened and pulled out a little purse from and hugged her father in gratitude. He pecked her cheek before turning to Seulgi, handing her a bigger bag. She took it reluctantly, opening it to look inside, gasping aloud as she saw the bigger purse inside.
"This... Taeyong it's a lot." she looked up and saw him smile at her. "I can't accept this, please."
"Please do." he put his hands on her as she was about to push it back to him. "I want you to have it. I noticed you'd carry everything in Seojin's baby bag, and you know, every woman should have that one good purse."
She was awed by his logic, still in shock when he handed her another smaller bag. "This is for Seojin, can't leave out the special one." he chuckled, taking out a small doll that rung a bell when moved around.
Seojin woke up hearing the bell, and was immediately up balancing on her feet and making way to them. Yoora called to her before grabbing the toy from her father's hand and taking her along to her toy corner to play.
Happiness filled Taeyong, and it was clearly evident on his face as he couldn't stop smiling for the whole time since entering. Seulgi on the other hand could only stare at the bags, hers full while Seojin's empty, while her face remained expressionless.
Once he looked at her and noticed it, he shifted closer to her on the couch and took her hand, giving it a squeeze. "Hey, what's wrong?" she looked up to see his eyes full of genuine concern.
"Taeyong, this is expensive... thank you but, its just so much for me."
She stopped when his other hand suddenly cupped her cheek, again, pushing her face to maintain eye contact as he smiled softly. "Please let me have this. I've always wanted to do something like this, and you know, you're thr closest that Yoora could have as-"
"Stop." she cut him off and abruptly got off the couch, push his hands away and dropping the bag to the floor. Right now, many thoughts ran through her head, but there was one she needed to clear up, to get off her chest. "I'm sorry Taeyong, but... I'm not here to play pretend."
She watched his knitted eyebrows as he stared confused, still sat down. "What do you mean?"
Sighing, she finally let it all out. "Taeyong, I love Yoora, but... she's not my daughter, she's not Seojin's sister, and you're not... you're not my husband. I don't know what happened that night with us, but it's made things so confusing for me. I agree this arrangement was really great for our kids, and to some extent for us as well, but I don't want it going some place without any guarantee about how it will end. Seojin is all I have, and as much as I hate it, I've come to accept that finding someone to full up the hole in our life is nearly impossible..."
Like the other night, a single tear fell down her cheek, except this time it wasn't a happy one. Stress and sadness piled up in her as she vented everything, and now the silence suffocated her. Before he could response, Seulgi turned away wiping her face and headed into the kitchen, grabbing a glass and pouring out water for herself.
Except her emotions got the best of her as her hand shook picking up the jug, water spilling around the cup. A hand held hers to steady it, and she weakly released as the jug was taken away from her. Taeyong then took the cup, filled it, then helped her hold it. She took a quick chug of water, trying to drown any emotions that had bottled up until her throat.
"I'm sorry." she put the cup down hearing his soft voice, a hand on her back while the other he used to turn her towards him. "I didn't mean to make you feel this way. I know how hard it must have been, believe me, I've gone through it for ten years. But I can say this, no matter how great your life gets through everything, the tiniest piece of you will always crave for what's missing. And so will your child..."
The tone of his voice changed, which lead Seulgi look up at his now sullen face.
"She never says a thing, but I know and can sense how much Yoora feels the emptiness of a mother. Ever since she started coming here, she's been so happy... you don't know this, but she talks about you both a lot in school, not just Seojin. In fact, they had an assignment a few days ago to write about their mothers, usually Yoora would sit out of things like that, but when she came home with a well graded paper... I knew at that point that you're so much more to her than just the mother of a baby she watches over."
This time, his eyes remained down, and Seulgi could see the slight tears welling up in them. His hands slowly dropped down as well, and she was the one to hold his face in both her hands, pushing up to face her. Once their eyes met, he quickly blinked away the tears.
"I promised myself that if ever I get the chance to marry someone, my first priority would be Yoora. But believe me, that's not the only case with you..."
He was quick to grab her hands when she was about to retract them the moment she heard those last words, confusion written all over her face and even in her eyes.
"Every time I see you with either girl, I just get drawn to you. Ten years ago, as a medical student with an accidental baby, I wouldn't have looked at you this way. But now, as a working single father, I see you and I think, this is what I want." he pulled her closer, arms circling around her waist. "You're such a hardworking woman, somehow you manage to balance work and taking care of an infant. I can't imagine how hard it must have been those first few months after giving birth. But you've persevered. When you told me about how alone you were, I realised it didn't matter that I did it for ten years or more, because you started alone without help, and nothing makes you any stronger than all this."
Staring into his eyes, she could tell he was being sincere, every word was meaningful.
"What I went through, Seulgi, it was hard. And seeing you that day at the hospital with Seojin in your arms crying, your face filled with fatigue, stress, worry, I wanted to do so much more to help you. And now, seeing our daughters so attached, plus how attached mine is to you alone, I wondered, what if we were a real family? I'm sorry if you felt uncomfortable today, but I wanted to test the waters by gifting you, obviously because you deserve it, but to also see how Yoora would react."
"You... want us to be a real family?" her voice shook. Taeyong sighed, staring at her silently before closing their distance and giving her lips a soft kiss, pulling away fast. He watched her expression, and noticed it was the same as last time. Except now, they weren't drunk.
"I'm willing to try." he pulled her in for a hug, one hand in her hair pushing her face against his chest while the other remained on her waist. A short smile crept on his lips when feeling her arms snake around him as she hugged him back. "I see the way you look at Yoora. And I promise, I will the same with Seojin."
"How do I look at Yoora?" she asked in a quiet voice.
"Motherly. And as her father, nothing can make me fall for a woman more than how they feel about and treat my own daughter, she means the world to me."
This time, a more comfortable silence took over as they remained in each other's embrace, Seulgi's index tracing circled on his back while she thought about his idea.
"Will you be present in both their lives?" she asked again.
"If I don't, you can kick me out of the house. I'm sure Yoora would agree to it." she smiled at his response when feeling him chuckle softly, but his words still carried seriousness.
"Will you treat Seojin fairly?"
"I promise with all that I have, I will treat her as if she's my own."
Sighing, she thought of one more thing. "And if let's say, we... have another one?" she gulped asking this time, in fear of his answer considering the sensitivity of this final question.
Taeyong pushed her out, but his hands remained holding her arms as he faced her, smiling though his eyes remained serious. "Maybe not anytime soon, let's focus on Seojin first. But, if you want another, what kind of husband would I be to deny you of that?"
>
"Sit Yoora." the young girl froze as they entered their apartment, scared of her father's sudden serious tone. He only ever spoke like this one time before, when she got in trouble in school for punching a girl (which she still claims was deserved because she was making fun of her).
She sat opposite her father in the dining room, but unlike last time she noticed his nervous expression as his hands fumbled, his face clear that he was deep in thought of what to say.
"What's wrong daddy?"
Taeyong sighed hearing her concerned voice, and finally decided to speak up. "How would you feel about Seulgi becoming your mum?"
"What?!?" she stood up, whether from shock, excitement or disapproval he couldn't tell. But be understood it soon as a cheeky grin took over her lips. "Are you serious, you're gonna marry her?!" she asked aloud, to which he motioned her to calm down.
"Nothing is confirmed yet baby. It's... just more of a thought. We're still discussing, and how you feel about it is important to me, an-"
"Daddy shut up please and just propose already!"
>>>
The fear of accommodation filled both parents. As per Yoora's approval and request, they decided to move in together sooner than planned, and planned to get married in before Seojin turned two years old, which gave them five months for now.
But even if Yoora agreed happily, it was a whole different case when living under the same roof. Taeyong had cleared out an empty guestroom for them, but Yoora had coerced them into letting her share her room with Seojin, saying it was too big for her alone and she wouldn't feel as lonely at night. Seulgi was worried about Yoora's sleep schedule, but the first three nights proved it to be an OK arrangement.
Seulgi remained in the guestroom, until a week later when they sat for dinner, and Yoora spoke up all of a sudden.
"Don't you think married couples should live together?"
Taeyong stopped eating and stared perplexed. "We are though baby?"
"No. Why would parents be sleeping in different rooms?"
This time Seulgi cleared her throat and decided to answer. "It's my idea Yoora. I just didn't want to overstep boundaries, I know how it's always been you two only."
Yoora hummed, nodding as she acknowledged Seulgi's concern as if she was an adult too. Later on however, as Seulgi helped Taeyong clear away dishes, he suddenly stopped her moving away as his hand grabbed hers in the kitchen.
"She's right you know." she cocked her head sideways, as if to ask what he meant. "Yoora. We should be in one room."
"But... isn't it too soon? I'm worried she'll feel like we're invading her space and life an-"
Her face flushed when he stopped her talking with a quick kiss on the lips, frowning with a pout at his antics to which he simply chuckled.
"She wants to feel like a family, it's been so since that essay assignment... but don't feel forced, if you want to take time before officially moving in with me, go ahead. I'll make her understand."
Seulgi thought about it, hands still holding his while her thumbs rubbed the back of his palm. A cute habit he noticed by now that she was doing again, she bit her bottom lip when deep in thought, and he couldn't help a quiet laugh escape his lips.
She looked up, causing him to stop immediately, waiting for something. "Let's try tonight?"
>>>
Yoora was the happiest, standing aside her father in her beautiful light pink dress, holding the box enclosed with a ribbon, in which she carried two very important rings.
She giggled seeing Seojin toddle her way across the aisle from the entrance up to the stage, throwing flowers whenever she remembered to, until Taeyong stepped down a little and picked her up, lifting her in the air before kissing her cheek, both giggling along with the small audience. He then stood her by Yoora, who looked back at the entrance as everyone stood, and she was sure she saw an angel appear into the wedding hall.
Her eyes trailed her new mother, just as her father's did as he covered his mouth, surely a tear appearing in his eye. Never did Taeyong think he'd get to experience this as he became more of an adult, standing at the altar next to the officiant, watching his almost wife walk towards him in the most beautiful white gown, her face hidden behind the thin mesh veil through which he could tell she was just as nervous and emotional as he was.
And once the rings were worn and both said their I dos, Yoora was the first to cheer lifting her little sister up in her arms and twirling around with her.
"We're a family Seojin!" she let her go and tugged her along to their parents, going first immediately into Seulgi's arms and whispering into her ear. "Thank you for becoming my mummy."

Five Senses - Part Two
Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Sighing, Seulgi took a minute to calm herself before she could speak, wanting to make sure he understood everything.
"The revolt against your dad, the king or whatever he is, it wasn't just for no reason." she started to say. "Quite frankly I'd like to say this to every one of your family, but I guess I'll tell you first."
Taeyong stood quiet and ushered her to sit on the bed as he did the same. She complied, but kept a sudden distance before speaking again.
Taeyong wasn't even hurt when she called his father stupid or useless. He was hurt that he didn't even know any of this, that they were taught wrong, brainwashed about the past. He never had a liking for his father for what he does, none of them did, but he never knew it could have been worse. He couldn't even say anything and sat still unable to think of a response, which only annoyed Seulgi even more. She got up and picked up her bag, but Taeyong quickly grabbed her hand.
"Your dad has many mistresses doesn't he? Well, did you know how he got them?" Taeyong shook his head. "All those years ago, the revolution wasn't started by some vampires for fun. They were started by the people who wanted him to stop his ordeal with mistresses, his unfaithfulness. And it was started by my parents. Your stupid father had picked specific women to take, my mum being one of them while she was pregnant with me! My dad hid us in the human world while he fought for us with others who tried to protect their loved ones just as much. But instead, your dad exiled them all to never be found, and I ended up growing up without a father. I don't even know where he is. My mum has been regretful ever since, wishing we just ran away together instead of fighting against your useless father!"
"Where are yo-"
"I'm going back home. I don't care how much we love each other, I can't stand being in the same building as your father, let alone be soulmates to one of his children."
Before Taeyong could say another word, Seulgi vanished, teleporting back to her house in the human world. He could teleport to the same place, but he knew better than that. He knew that for the time being she would need some space and decided to leave her be.
"Why did you lie!?!" he cut off his father. "Why did you lie to me, to the people, to the your own children!?! Why are you such a disgusting person!?!"
Instead he paced around his own room, grunting every few minutes and tugging his hair. Of course he was mad, not at her, but at their father. Unable to hold it on, he stormed into their father's room, where the elder man sat simply doing nothing.
"Taeyong you know better than crashi-"
"Taeyong what is this about?"
"Our textbooks, our history, our teachers, you, you're all liars! We learn about that revolt against you as nothing more than people who hated you. But they had a right to hate you, they had a right to want to dethrone you!"
"Lee Taeyong what is the meaning of this?" Taeyong turned around to see his mother walk in. She was a great mother, not just to him but all, and I mean all, of the siblings. She saw everyone as if her own and became friends with the so called mistresses as they raised their children together. Of course the women left at some point as they were sent off from the palace, but their children being half royalty had to stay, and Taeyong's mother made deep promises to keep them safe and healthy, and grow up well. "Why are you yelling at your father?"
"I have every right to do so mum, and you have every right to be on my side here!"
The lady's eyes quivered. "What do you mean?"
"I met my soulmate. But she left me all because of dad and his greed! You knew that having all those women was wrong, yet you stayed quiet. Now I know."
"What do you know?" his mother asked, voice shaking as she could tell the truth was known.
"Watch your mouth Lee Taeyong!"
"Now I know how he got those women. We were taught that every one of us have a soulmate fixed. But you!" he turned pointing to his father. "You kidnapped them from their families and tortured their soulmates, you disgusting piece of shit!"
"You watch your mouth!" he cut off his father. By now some of his siblings and servants were at the door, watching as the crown prince fought the king. "You don't deserve to be king, you don't even deserve to be royalty! How could you abuse the power the people trusted us with all for fun? You're doing nothing but tearing up our family! First with Yuta, then Joohyun, now me. If it wasn't for the fact that killing one kills their soulmate, I would be putting a stake through your heart right now!"
Before he could continue, two people ran in grabbing either of his arms. Both Yuta and Hendery did their best to drag him out, not wanting this fight to continue knowing that both their father and brother had terrible consequences when angry. They might just kill half of the population while at each others necks.
"You will regret this Taeyong! You are crown prince, behave like so!"
"I'd rather kill myself!"
Before he could speak anymore, Sunny grabbed the three boys & teleported them to the private living room, where the two pushed him down onto the couch.

Wedding Night
Lee Taeyong X Kang Seulgi

Seulgi's gaze remained down on her hands throughout the plane trip, her thumb playing with the beautiful diamond ring on her left ring finger, a new piece of jewellery on her. Her eyes drifted to looking out the window at the sky, a smile on her face despite the slight nervousness she felt.
Despite the a year of dating, then another 6 months of being engaged, Seulgi had never engaged in any intimate activities with her now husband. As much as she did fall for him, being paired up by their parents and sent to start dating right away wasn't something she could get over, especially when it came to intimacy, and she was just incredibly happy Taeyong was understanding of it, a trait that she ended up loving in him as well.
"Hey." she turned to him as he called her, a smile on his face. "What do you wanna eat?" he motioned towards the flight attendant, who repeated her usual line of the menu items.
She was so deep in thought she almost forgot they were on a flight to Guam, right after their wedding, heading for their honeymoon. And once she picked her meal choice and started to eat, the last one spun around her mind.
Honeymoon night.
It stuck to her even as they checked into her hotel, walking into their honey suite, and while Taeyong took in the interior while she stood near the bedroom area. She snapped out of her thoughts and giggled as her husband jumped onto bed, laying out like a starfish tired from travelling right after their reception.
He suddenly turned to her with a smile, his arm reaching out. "Come here." She stared a few seconds at him, biting her bottom lip before noticing his visible pout, which ultimately broke her as she decided to just lie down with him.
Taeyong felt fulfilled as she laid her head on his shoulder, his arm curled up to play with her hair as they slowly got comfortable. She had turned her whole self to him and had an arm thrown over his torso, making him even happier. He peeked at her and noticed her eyes closed, and figured they should take a nap before anything else.
A slight worry filled him, the same as her, although neither knew about the mutual concern.
>
After quick showers, dressing in comfy clothes, then dinner before they retrieved to their suite again, the couple sat in the TV room watching whatever they had selected. Throughout the night Taeyong kept his wife close to himself, always pulling her to his side, arm around her waist or shoulder, stealing innocent kisses every now and then.
Now as he laid down on the L-shape couch, he pulled her to lay her head on his lap, fingers brushing through her hair in the comforting silence. The movie progressed, when a romantic scene popped up, and Seulgi went stiff. She watched the couple on screen get comfortable with each other as they kissed, and felt a slight tingle in her body as her eyes drifted up towards her husband.
His eyes were fixed on the screen, as if watching in the most concentration. She took this short chance to stare at him, studying his facial features, then her eyes trailed down his jaw and neck, until the collar of his night shirt that was left unbuttoned until his chest.
She suddenly sat up and turned to face him, to which he looked confused at her. She gave a shy smile before moving closer, one hand brushing back some hair strands off of his forehead, eyeing his expression in the meantime. She saw the way he stared at her, and knew he could tell the meaning behind her eyes. She moved even closer, faces only inches apart, hand cupping his cheek, and placed a soft kiss over his lips.
Taeyong's eyes followed her lips as she pulled away, not leaving even as he spoke. "Sure?" he was responded with a simple nod, and immediately sat up in a haste. He turned the TV off, then grabbed the back if her neck in one hand, the other now around her waist, and pulled her onto his lap as their lips met again in a passionate kiss.
Just as it deepened, Seulgi gasped when suddenly feeling the cold of his hand on the skin of her back, his arm now hidden under her night shirt. Though as her arms locked around him, hand tugging locks of his hair, the cold was soon replaced as her body felt hot inside and out. Unable to help herself, she unconsciously moved her hips, to which he groaned and pulled her out of the kiss, noses still touching.
"Stop here Seulgi, before it goes any further." Taeyong spoke through shallow breaths.
Biting her bottom lip, Seulgi shook her head before repeating the action once more. "I don't want to." this time she pulled him back in to kiss again, smiling through it when he suddenly stood up, hands now on her thighs as he carried her around the suite. She felt her back hit a wall, probably somewhere in the lounge room, as Taeyong pushed himself on her, and she gasped being able to feel every part of his body this way.
He pulled away, but continued kissing down her jaw and neck. With her head thrown back against the wall, she winced feeling his teeth in the crook of her neck, hand in his hair tightening its grasp causing him to groan again. Suddenly she realised something else, as she noticed the restraint of her bra loosen under her shirt, and felt his hand flat against her skin. Through everything she had failed to notice when he crept back under her shirt and somehow manage to undo her undergarment, his face coming back up to hers with a playful smirk.
"How-" she was cut off when he kissed her again, and carried her off the wall until the bedroom. Gently, he got on the bed on his knees, and bent as he laid her down against the soft sheets. He pulled out of the kiss again, a soft look in his eyes this time as he scanned her face. Confused, she cupped his cheeks in both hands, to which he smiled before grabbing one and kissing her palm, something that made her feel warm and fuzzy inside.
"Why did you stop?" she asked softly, her other hand now playing with his open buttons, further confused when he suddenly bent down and kissed her cheek, then his lips hovered above hers as their noses touched again.
"It's our first, I want to make sure you're OK." he whispered.
As if she could feel any more in love with him, Seulgi felt like her feelings for him only grew more every passing day, or even second. As she processed her words, she realised it wouldn't just be their first, but hers as well.
Her lips thinned as she thought about it before speaking up. "It's... my first time ever." feeling embarrassed she turned her head aside, only to hear a chuckle and another kiss on her cheek.
"Mine too, baby." he whispered in her ear. She turned back to him immediately, eyes widened in shock. "Did you think I was experienced?" he laughed softly.
"I mean... I thought you'd dated before me?"
Taeyong couldn't help laugh even more, shaking his head before he continued leaving kisses all over her face, talking in between each one. "We're in bed together now... and my wife's thinking about my previous dates... How funny... but no... those were only dates... I never liked them enough... to go further..." he moved up again, facing her with curious eyes. "How about you?"
She bit her lip, shy to answer. "Dated once in high-school, but after that... I didn't care enough to find anyone until you came along."
They shared a short laugh, Taeyong bending down to kiss her again, their lips moulding together almost perfectly Seulgi felt. She allowed her hands to move down his shirt, unbuttoning the remaining, and snake into it as her hands reached his back. He pulled away and sat up, chuckling at her pout, before taking the shirt off in one swift motion. Her eyes scanned his body up and down, before she too sat up and pulled her shirt over her body.
"We're even." she commented as her hands reached for him, getting a laugh out of him as he once again laid on top of her, this time allowing himself to drop his weight completely, their bare bodies pressed against each other as they kissed, and both their hands travelled over each others bodies.
It wasn't long before they were completely bare, Taeyong having pulled the blanket over them to keep warm, his face now buried into her chest as he kissed his way down her body. Seulgi gasped at every touch of his hands and mouth, until he reached just below her tummy, moving back up her body until they faced each other again.
She stared at him, a little breathless, when he took her hands and placed them around his torso as if to grab his back. "Are you OK?" he suddenly asked in a whisper, to which she nodded. He moved his face closer before asking again. "Ready?" she nodded again, and he kisses her deeply, as if covering up her moans while entering her body. They pulled away and laid still for a while, both simply taking deep breaths getting used to the new feeling.
Despite the slight pain, something else bubbled up in Seulgi. Her eyes slowly opened staring up at her husband, who watched her with such loving stares throughout, and as he moved she suddenly felt like there was nothing and no one else in this world but them. She moaned high pitched at each push she felt inside, her nails digging into his skin and head thrown back.
Unable to help it, Taeyong dipped his head and captured her lips in another kiss, swallowing all her noise as his hands held her to keep still. "My wife..." he spoke into their kiss. "Mine." he suddenly got up, grabbed her legs and wrapped them around his waist, before hovering back down over her again. This move made her feel even more of him, and Seulgi gasped before he dipped into her neck this time, leaving harsh kisses which she knew she'd have to cover with makeup the next day.
"Tae... yong..." he knew she was close and pulled away from her skin, lips hovering over hers with a smirk as he felt her legs tightening around him.
"I know baby." he gave a quick kiss. "You're mine, my wife."
She found it hard to speak as he sped up, gasping at every feeling, until she felt her body suddenly go limp, eyes rolling to the back of her head. It was as if she lost all her sense, the only thing in her ability to feel was her husband finishing off right after her, then dropping his full weight onto her body after pushing her legs off of his waist. She could hear his deep breaths next to her head, then a kiss on the shell of her ear before his weight had been lifted off.
She didn't know how long it was she laid in bed almost senseless, until she felt the bed dip next to her and fingers pushing away her hair sticking to her face. "Baby..." a soft voice called out to her, right next to her ear, then a kiss on the temple of her forehead. "Come back to me." a hand cupped her cheek and pushed her face towards his own, followed by a soft giggle.
Taeyong didn't push her any more, and simply wiggled his arms under her between her body and the bed, then carried her up bridal style heading to the bathroom. Her head rested on his shoulder, and he kissed her forehead again, smiling when she wrapped his arms around his neck and snuggled into him.
Without putting her down, he stepped into the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom which he had prepared, and sat with her back towards him on his lap, hands now massaging her thighs under the water. "You good?" he asked, pressing his nose into her hair.
"Mhm..." Seulgi responded tired. She grabbed his hands and held them around herself, pushing into his embrace more as she got comfortable. She loved this, even though it was their first time, she felt calm and protected, happy and peaceful. And before she knew it, three words left her mouth, which she had no regrets of.
"I love you."
She felt his chest vibrate with laughter. "After that, I'd be concerned if you didn't considering we just got married too." She looked up at him, brows furrowed and pouting, to which he chuckled more and kissed her pout, arms tightening around her. "I love you, my wife."

Will It Work?
Kang Seulgi X Lee Taeyong
tags: @gerardeveryway @gomseulgiii @innssanityyy & anon who requested♡
Seulgi pursed her lips as she sat at the dinner table, in between her parents, opposite the man she just met yet knew she'd have to spend the rest of her life with. His parents sat either side of his too, talking to hers around the round table. She kept her gaze down and moved her pasta around with the fork, unable to eat because of all the thoughts circling her mind.
Will this marriage work? What if they're not compatible? Will she get a say if she wants to leave? Will he leave her first? What if he already has someone?
Sighing she took another small bite, when his father suddenly cleared his throat. "Well then, Mr Kang, I assume our deal can come to a finalisation."
Deal... Seulgi hated hearing that word regarding her, as if she was some business property. She knew all her life her family poured their lives into their works, which lead to her having completely different dreams than just taking over after her parents. In fact, that was the only reason she agreed to this marriage. It would mean a merge, and ultimately her future husband would have control over both, and she was happy to pass it on like that.
She watched her father nod. "I'm excited for the future of our companies, for sure we will climb higher in the market." the elder man turned to his daughter, while the other faced his son. Taeyong nodded, face still stoic, and got up from his seat and moved to stand behind Seulgi. He pulled out a box from his pocket, took out a ring, waited for her to present her left hand.
Seulgi stared at the ring silently. It was beautiful no doubt, but it had a meaning. If she were to let him put it on her, there was no turning back from this new life. She swallowed nervously standing up, and slowly presented her hand to him. He held it and gently placed the ring on her ring finger, all parents cheering which got more of the other customers at the restaurant involved.
She looked up at him and smiled, still nervous, only to get a half smile in response before he returned to his seat. Seulgi sighed and sat back down, trying hard not to regret anything.
>>>
It had been a month since that dinner, and now she stood in a white dress every girl dreamed of one day. So did Seulgi, but that was the only thing making her smile as she looked at herself in the mirror, loving the way the beautiful dress looked on her. But as soon as her mother came inside the room, her smile dropped.
This is it. She's about to marry someone she had no idea of.
Sighing, she followed her mother out to where her father waited for her in front of the hall doors. She didn't say anything, she had nothing to actually say. People looked at her with such happy eyes that she decided to everything to herself.
As her father walked her down the aisle, she saw Taeyong standing there with his usual stoic expression, looking away from her. It made her even sadder seeing that he didn't want to look at her even. When they neared the steps he finally turned to take her hand and help her up, eyes down the whole time. It was only when they stood in front of the officiant that he looked at her face.
The man pursed his lips, before going back to normal.
Seulgi had no idea what he was thinking. She had no idea about him at all. She could only stand there and pray this wedding ended faster.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Her eyes shook, wondering how would this play out. Her questions were answered when Taeyong grabbed her arm and pulled her closer, and quicker than she could process he cupped her cheek with his other hand and kissed her lips already. She was too surprised to respond to his gentle kiss, and could feel her cheeks heat up once he pulled away.
What was that...
Seulgi changed into a more simple comfortable dress for the reception. It was a soft yellow silk dress, sleeveless and backless, down to her shin. She walked into the hall with her friend and saw Taeyong talking to some people who she assumed were business partners, either her father's or his, and decided to go stand with him.
Taeyong felt someone coming his way and turned, his eyes freezing at the sight of his new wife in her new dress. Seulgi smiled as she came next to him and greeted the men, and Taeyong wasn't one to miss one of the younger ones eyeing her. Clenching his jaw, he excused themselves and pulled her with him away to a corner.
"What's wrong?" Seulgi asked softly, confused by his sudden action. He only stared at her with piercing eyes before taking off his suit and putting it around her.
"Don't take it off." he said before taking her hand and going back into the party. She was still confused, but too scared and kept the jacket on until they sat to eat.
It was soon time for the newly wed couple to go home, and Seulgi would be moving in with Taeyong in his penthouse. She was more scared than ever having no clue what would happen once they step into the place, and as they did (after a very quiet car ride) she just stood in the living room awkwardly while Taeyong finished untying his shoes.
He noticed her hesitation as he walked in as well, and called her. "Why are you standing here? Go to our room and change." he pointed in the direction of the master bedroom, and she quickly nodded and went in to find a lot of her stuff had already been moved in and organised.
She found her drawer of pyjamas and took a set, heading to the bathroom to clean up after the busy day they had. She decided to wear her clothes inside before leaving the room, feeling too shy to change in front of Taeyong especially after what he had done today.
Does he not like it? Is he that conservative?
She sighed as she dried her hair before leaving the bathroom, stopping in her tracks when she saw Taeyong on the bed. His shirt was unbuttoned all the way down while he leaned back on one arm and scrolled his phone with the other. She could feel her cheeks heat up again and quickly turned away.
Taeyong saw her come out and got up to shower himself. He stopped next to her, moving closer. "If you're hungry, call the maid for something. If not you can go to sleep, mines the right side." he spoke softly as if to not startle her, and she nodded. Once he went in the bathroom she looked at the bed, and saw her side was the one with an empty side table, and a box of her things from back at her parents house were left next to it.
She sat on her side and arranged everything onto the table and drawer, which she realised she had been doing slowly when she noticed Taeyong already stepped out of the bathroom. She turned towards him, blushing again when seeing he had nothing but a towel on while rummaging through his closet for pyjamas.
She turned her eyes away and looked towards the big window on the other side of the room, and stared outside at the dark night. She could still make out his reflection, and saw he had finished wearing his clothes and was now coming to bed on his side.
Taeyong got in under the covers, but sat upright instead of lying down. He pulled out his laptop from the side drawer and got to work immediately. Despite today being their wedding, he had to work on meeting presentations for his father, and being someone with a good work ethic he never disappointed his family with his results.
After some time he noticed Seulgi still sitting at the edge of the bed near the end, facing out the window. Curious, he moved forward to look over at her, and noticed she had simply been sitting there staring out at the city and playing with her fingers.
He wasn't sure how to approach her. Just as how Seulgi knew nothing about him, he knew nothing about her. Now he was worried whether his small outburst at the reception upset her. She looked beautiful in that dress no doubt, but seeing another man look at her that way angered him.
She was his wife, he had to protect her.
He closed his laptop and put it away before moving to sit to her left, leaving some space, startling Seulgi a bit. She peeked up at him, and he stared back with much softer eyes. "Why won't you sleep?" he asked gently. Seulgi shrugged and turned back to the window, causing him to sigh. He shifted even closer, their shoulders just touching, and with all his courage took her hand and held it.
Seulgi's eyes widened as she watched him touch the ring on her finger. Their marriage ring. Suddenly it hit her, it was their first night together, and her eyes shook as she looked up to see him deep in thought. "Do we have to do... uhm... do it now?" she asked softly, her voice shaking slightly. She had no experience of being intimate before, but she wasn't scared of it. She was scared because she didn't know this man, and it upset her further when she realised they're married yet had no bond.
Taeyong could tell her emotions by her eyes. He let go of her hand and simply climbed back to his side. "Come sleep." he motioned her, and she followed going under the covers on her side, leaving a small distance between them. "I'll be leaving early for work tomorrow. You can start packing whenever you're ready, our honeymoon trip is in 2 days."
>>>
The honeymoon was a four day trip in Japan, and the first 3 weren't as bad as Seulgi thought. They were awkward no doubt, but throughout their time spent together Taeyong was always with her and gave whatever she needed. If she was hungry, he'd immediately find the nearest best restaurant to eat at. If she wanted to shop, he took her to the mall. If she wanted to sightsee, he'd book a tour guide and had them take the couple for a private tour.
Seulgi enjoyed herself as much as she could, but on the third night she felt sad as she went through her photos and realised they didn't do much as a couple. Thinking about it, she figured the last thing she wanted to do was go around Disneyland as a couple. She waited for Taeyong to be done showering and come to bed while she prepared what to wear for the next day.
Once he came out, she approached him while he did his night facial routine. "Taeyong..." he hummed in response. "Tomorrow, can we go to Disneyland?"
"Sure." he answered without looking.
Seulgi continued. "I want to go for something we can do together..." she wanted to say as a couple, but held back worried how would he think of that.
Taeyong stopped rummaging through his things and turned to look at Seulgi, who was clearly nervous as she bit her lip and her toes kept fidgeting. "I'll find things we can do together, you can pick which ones to do." he closed up the small bag and turned to her fully. "Let's get some sleep now, Disneyland is a lot of walking." she nodded and followed behind him to the bed.
They slept just as they do back home, each on their own sides, and a gap between them.
The next morning they woke up extra early, knowing how time consuming their destination would be. As they sat in the car on the way, Taeyong pulled out his tab and showed it to her. "Here's things to do there, as a couple." Seulgi's ears perked at his words. "See which you'd like to go for, I don't think we can do them all since there'll be lines. But we're staying for the night parade and fireworks, so if there's time we can do more or rest."
Handing her the device, he then looked away out the window. Seulgi stared at him a little longer, before a smile took over her face. She had doubts what kind of activities he would pick out, but in the end they were exactly what she wanted.
Maybe we are more similar than I thought...
The walk around Disneyland was tiring, and Seulgi was glad she didn't mark too many things as they ended up taking several breaks in between. At one point she realised he was taking pictures of her throughout, which fluttered her heart, but she wished they'd take some together.
As he took another one and checked on it, she came closer. "Uhm... Should we ask someone for a picture together?" he looked up at her immediately, and she got nervous. "Only if you want... I know you might not, nevermind it then..." she looked down and shuffled her feet, wanting to run, but of course that's out of question.
But before she could walk back to her position, she felt a hand grab hers causing her to halt. She looked back at him and he pulled her closer, before looking around. "Excuse me," he called out to a father walking by, "could you help take a picture for us here please?"
The man nodded, and Taeyong dragged her to where she had posed before. Seulgi stood awkwardly, until he suddenly held her waist and pulled her even closer. She looked at him and saw he was facing the camera, smiling softly, and decided to just follow him.
It's just for the camera...
"One, two, smile!" the man clicked one picture. "Another one please." he said before counting again, but before he finished Seulgi felt her husband suddenly lean his head against hers. But she couldn't react, though her smile did grow. As the man announced one final picture, and counted to three, she could no longer hide her shocked expression when feeling a kiss on her cheek.
"Very nice." the man said as he came closer to return their camera. "I wish my wife and I could experience the spark of young love again." Taeyong smiled and thanked the man who returned to his family. He went through the pictures, showing some to Seulgi.
But she was still too caught up with what had just happened to focus, and just hummed along. "Let's go grab some dinner, then find a place to settle for the fireworks." he said, grabbing her hand and walking.
Throughout dinner she kept silent, only speaking when ordering her food. And Taeyong wasn't one to miss that. Halfway through he stopped eating looked up at her, getting her attention as his cutlery hit the plate.
"Is something bothering you?" he asked, stern but soft. "You've been quiet for a while."
Seulgi bit her lip, wondering if she should be honest or not. But one peek at him and she could tell he was an easy reader of expressions. "It's nothing... I was just thinking." she answered hoping it would let him move on. But of course she was wrong.
"About what?"
She sighed, putting her cutlery down as well. "About us. I'm... confused. I've never been in relationships before, but I feel like ours isn't going to be as easy as others. And, I'm worried..." she kept her eyes down as she spoke, too nervous to look at him.
Taeyong pursed his lips, staring at her for a while as worries filled his head as well. It's not that he had it any easier, he just wanted to make it as normal as possible. Finally he made his move, sliding closer to her in his chair until their shoulders just touched. Just as Seulgi looked at him, he grabbed her hand in both of his and started fumbling with it.
"Relationships aren't meant to be easy." he started to speak softly. "But I know ours is harder than usual. I don't know about you, much at all to be honest, and that's what's hard for me from making it feel normal. I try to, but I don't know what you like or you don't, what makes you happy, what you're comfortable with. I'm scared if I accidentally overstep boundaries. I don't want to make things awkward between us than they already are."
Their eyes met, simply gazing at one another before he suddenly kissed her knuckles. "I'm willing to give us a shot. I think you're a great woman, so I will try for you as I hope you do for me. And maybe instead of watching each other slowly, we can talk more to know about each other."
Seulgi's lips quivered, unable to speak, so she leaned onto his shoulder, getting comfortable when she felt him wrap an arm around her in a hug, the other still holding her hand. She smiled shyly, trying to hide it in his shirt, but he could tell.
And it made him think, this might actually work better than he worried about.
Realising the time, Taeyong moved out first. "We should go now if we wanna make it in time for the fireworks show. I'll get us some drinks on the way for us while we wait." Seulgi nodded and they got up, his hand grabbing her naturally, and headed out to their final destination for the day.
As they sat waiting for the show to begin, Taeyong leaned back on his arms, allowing for his wife to lean against his chest while looking through all the photos they had taken today in his camera. He looked as well, and both noticed the subtle smiles they had in all the pictures. It put Seulgi in thought again when coming to the picture of him kissing her cheek.
She smiled cheekily and got up, confusing her husband when she walked over to a teenage girl and passed the camera to her, saying something before returning to her seat. "I want some pictures here." she simply said. He nodded and sat up properly, his arm snaking around her waist again.
As the young lady started to count, Seulgi moved her head closer to his, smiling brightly this time. And from the corner of her eyes she could see him doing the same. One picture done, and when moving to the second one, the couple surprised each other.
"One, two, three, smile!"
Both heads turned, meaning for innocent cheek kisses, but instead they caught each others lips. Luckily the girl had caught it in the right moment, as they were quick to pull away and stare in shock.
"That was so cute!" the young girl squealed and laughed. Seulgi turned to her and smiled awkwardly, turning back to Taeyong, before they both bursted into giggles. Feeling content, the girl clicks one more picture unannounced before passing the camera back to Seulgi and dashing off excitedly. The two looked down at the last picture, smiles taking over both their faces.
Taeyong made a mental note to frame this picture up on their wall, it beats the awkward wedding one they had taken. And peeking at his wife's face he could tell she definitely felt the same. Unable to hold back, he quickly sneaked a quick kiss to her cheek, gaining her attention.
"I hope we can cover our walls with more pictures of your smile."
Seulgi gazed into his eyes as he did, and with zero hesitation moved closer into another kiss. It was an innocent one, but held much meaning as Taeyong cupped her cheek and deepened it. She quickly placed a hand between them and pushed him off gently, the same hand then playing with the collar of his shirt as she looked down shyly.
He chuckled, she was too adorable. He turned back to face the direction of the fireworks, before his hands were quick at work pulling her closer to the point she sat on his lap sideways, then rested his head on his shoulder. "It feels like I know you so long..." he whispered. Seulgi froze for a while longer, slowly getting used to this much closeness with the man she just barely knew about. "I hope I didn't cross the line."
She decided to relax herself, faced him with a smile and shook her head before laying against his shoulder again. They sat like that longer, fingers playing with each other's, when the fireworks soon started and they watched in awe.
That night, as they retired to their bed back at the hotel, Taeyong took the risk and laid down closer to his wife. He was careful and watched her expression, making sure she was comfortable with it. He noticed she peeked at him for a bit, but shifted her head towards his direction a bit, which he took as a green light.
Seulgi silently looked away as her husband made himself comfortable right next to her, their arms touching. He laid facing her, so she decided to do the same and turned on her spot.
The couple stared at each other with shy smiles, until Taeyong shifter closer to her and kissed her forehead. He took the chance to wrap her in his arms and pull her closer, resting his chin on her head.
Seulgi felt calmer than ever as she threw her arm over his torso and snuggled into his chest. All her worries her lifted with this one simple action, she no longer feared what might happen to them. All she could think about was working towards a happy future together, especially knowing his feelings and fears were the same as hers. It reassured her that she wasn't going to be the only one putting in effort.
This might work... No, it's going to work... she thought to herself as she peeked up and saw her husband drifting to sleep, feeling nothing but affection towards him. Yea, it'll work...

Just You
Part 3 of Fresh Start
Kang Seulgi X Lee Taeyong
>>>
Seulgi thought long and hard about her ex's request, until she finally gave in and decided the best thing to do would be to let Arin decide herself. She was twelve so her choice was more than valid as she didn't want her child to be uncomfortable or live through unfairness.
She told Taeyong, who a hundred percent agreed with her, and they sat in the living room waiting for the young girl to come down after calling her. She ran down smiling, stopping when she saw their serious faces and sat in front of them.
Seulgi took a deep breath before speaking. "Honey, I'm about to ask you something that is completely up to you and how you feel about it. Don't think about us for now." Arin looked scared, but nodded. "Your... father. Your biological father, he wants to meet you to talk. Nothing serious, he just wants to catch up, only if you'd like though."
Arin froze, and Taeyong could see her hands shaking and quickly sat next to her holding them in one of his, his other hand cupping her face towards him. "Baby it's up to you. If you don't want to tell us now, but we wanted to be fair with you in case you do want to talk so we decided it's best to ask you."
Arin looked down, her breath staggering. "I... I don't know... I'm scared..."
"Why?" her father asked softly.
"What if he takes me from you?"
Taeyong quickly held her into his chest as she let go some tears, Seulgi now moving next to her as well and hugging her from behind. "He won't baby." he spoke softly, eyes meeting Seulgi's sullen ones. "His family doesn't know what he did, he doesn't want to take you. He just wants to talk. But if you don't want to then you don't have to go."
Arin pulled out and looked at her parents, her eyes sad but determined with her answer. "I don't want to." she said straight forward. "I don't hate him, but I don't want to see him." Seulgi nodded and hugged her again, holding her daughter's face in her chest and kissed her head.
>>>
Seulgi didn't bother talking to the man, knowing no conversation started should be an answer enough to his request. Their lives went on as normal, and excitement as Arin's thirteenth birthday was coming up.
Arin decided instead of a party, she wanted to go on a camping trip with her family. Taeyong happily cleared out his schedule for the two days they'd be away, while Seulgi prepared a list and got everything ready.
On the way to the campsite they stopped by a convenience store for some snacks, only Arin and Taeyong going in as Seulgi knew how wild Hajun could get surrounded by all the sweets. Going in, Taeyong gave his daughter a small bag and told her to fill it up with whatever she wanted while he got them some drinks.
Arin happily strolled through the aisles, picking out her snacks. She came across her favourite chips, but found them to be on a higher shelf. Determined to reach it, she rolled up her sleeves and tiptoed, reaching her hand as high as possible, trying to tip the bag with her fingers at least.
She heard a deep chuckle next to her. "Let me help." a man's voice said, and the bag of chips was given in her hand. She smiled at the snack, then looked up to say thank you, when her smile dropped instead.
And so did the man's.
"Arin?" he asked, shocked to have met his biological daughter like this. Arin stayed quiet, peeked around for her father, then turned back to the man and bowed.
"Thank you for helping." she said and quickly turned around to walk away. Except this time the man followed.
Taeyong looked for his daughter, smiling when he saw her coming his way, but like her his smile dropped seeing Jongin behind her. Arin paced towards him and hugged his waist, stopping the man on his tracks. Taeyong looked up at him after grabbing his daughter, slightly bowing to greet.
"Arin, you should greet properly." he said softly to her. Arin hesitated, then turned around and bowed, keeping her head down even when she stood up straight.
Jongin coughed awkwardly. "You're bigger than last time." he managed to say. "Where's your mother?"
She looked at Taeyong, who nodded for her to just talk. "Outside, in the car."
"I see... Well, it was good to see you. You're a very strong determined girl." he slightly chuckled eyeing the chips. "Happy about that. I best be off." he was about to turn, when he suddenly looked back at Taeyong. "Listen, I know you two don't like me, but did you at least ask her?"
Both Taeyong and Arin looked perplexed, until the older realised what he was talking about. He whispered to Arin to go shop still and made sure she was out of sight before responding.
"I told Seulgi, and she left the decision up to Arin."
"And?"
Taeyong sighed. "She refused, so Seulgi didn't bother contacting you since she said no."
Jongin nodded, but seemed a little upset. "Why didn't you say anything?" he asked.
Taeyong was confused why he'd asked that, but responded calmly. "Arin is my daughter now, but anything regarding you is out of my place to make decisions on."
"Why?"
"It just is. I'm her father, but you're her biological father. You didn't want any custody when you divorced, or wanted to see her, so until she's an adult Seulgi has full rights to make decisions about whether or not she should be allowed to see you. But Seulgi gave her the choice, and she said no. I don't see how it makes any difference if I said anything more..."
Jongin stood still for a while, before slightly dipping his head and leaving. Taeyong sighed, looking aside and noticed Arin was hiding behind a shelf listening the whole time. He called her out and smiled, reminding her not to let this ruin their trip.
The two continued to the cashier to pay for their things, when Arin noticed her mother standing outside the car talking to someone. She quickly tugged Taeyong and pointed, but he told her to act natural as they headed out to her.
"I know I wasn't the best, but you seriously couldn't have convinced her to meet me for just a little bit?" they heard Jongin say as they neared their car, Seulgi's face distraught.
"Look, she's turning thirteen, she's old enough to make decisions about such things herself. Don't play victim as if we're abandoning you now. You went around with that woman behind my back, weren't even there when Arin was in coma, and easily asked for no custody whatsoever, or even to at least have visitations because your wife and her family had no idea about us existing. Does it look like I care to listen to your pleads? Whatever you have to say, you can tell Arin yourself and let her decide, because I don't want anything to do with you ever again."
With that she got back in the car and slammed the door shut. He grumbled and turned, face going still seeing Arin and Taeyong. They definitely heard everything, or at least half of it, either way they knew what Seulgi said.
He approached Arin, who moved to hide behind Taeyong. "Arin, will you at least give me one outing?"
As if she lost it, Arin huffed and stepped out, suddenly glaring at the man. "I don't understand why you want me in your life so badly after all these years. You're not my dad, you never were! I don't care if someone's dying or if it's really out of pity, but I have no feelings for you, so stop trying to be in my life!"
Jongin stood silently, anger clearly in his eyes. Taeyong noticed this and quickly held Arin's hand before gently tugging her away to the car. But before they could make it her other arm was grabbed tight.
"If it wasn't for me you'd never be born."
He doesn't know why, but that set off something in Taeyong, and the next thing he knew the man was on the ground holding his face, Taeyong's hand clenched in a fist. Arin stepped back scared, Seulgi already out of the car holding her daughter, as they watched him bend down and grab the injured man by the collar.
"F*ck off and stop harassing my daughter before I take this to court."
He lets go and turns to see his wife and daughter stiff in shock, sighing as he realised what he had just done. In all the years Arin's known him, she has never seen Taeyong be aggressive or violent, even when her parents fought he'd have a calm voice (which would still send shivers down her spine). Even Seulgi, who was with him through their years of puberty and growing up, and never once seen Taeyong get physical.
A crowd had formed, Jongin standing up shakily and walking away quickly, but not before looking back at Arin once more.
Taeyong walked over to the car with a lowered head, and simply got in into the driver's seat and started the car, waiting for thr other two to get in. They did so quietly, and he drove off to their destination, the only sounds in the car being Hajun and anytime Arin responded to him.
Taeyong was quiet throughout the whole day, even while they arrived at their tent and set up everything. At night Seulgi found him sitting far away, while the kids just started on dinner. She watched him sadly and decided it was time to talk. She walked over and quietly sat next to him, following his gaze towards the ground. His arms rested on his knees, and she grabbed a hand and held it in hers, rubbing it to warm him up since it was pretty cold.
Noticing how he didn't react, she decided to initiate. "Taeyong, my love." she called softly and shifted closer, holding his arm this time. "Please don't be so quiet, you're scaring me. Look at me, please." She cupped his face and turned him towards her, and he reluctantly finally looked at her, causing her to smile.
"Don't smile." his respond shocked her. "I don't deserve it. I was out of line today. I tried to keep calm but-"
"Taeyong." she cut him off holding both his cheeks this time. "Love, I know you my whole life. Whatever you did, you did for a very good reason. Remember, you're a lawyer, and a very successful one because you're so calm and collected. So please, just tell me what was it he said..."
Taeyong thought back to it, the memory of the man's words causing his blood to boil again. "He told Arin she wouldn't exist without him... I know he's not wrong, but the way he said it, grabbing Arin like that... He had absolutely no right to do anything of the sort to her." he spoke getting angrier.
Seulgi was quick to notice this. She brought their faces closer and touched her forehead to his, both their eyes closed. It was something she did whenever he was facing any negativity in life, and it always made him smile at the cute gesture.
Though this time, he simply breathed out to calm himself. She moved away a bit, when suddenly to his surprise she moved in again for a passionate kiss. His one arm snaked around her waits and brought her closer while the other held her face, and somehow he felt calmer, as if it was some stress relieving activity.
Seulgi stopped, their noses still touching. "I love you so much Taeyong..." she kissed him again shortly. "Thank you for protecting my daughter like this..."
"She's mine too." he said a little possessively. "I'll do anything for all three of you. Anything." now he just sounded dangerous, and Seulgi smiled at him, moving even closer into his embrace for a hug. They sat quietly, but in comfort. It had been long since it was just the two of them alone outside their bedroom (granted Hajoon wasn't with them that night), and Taeyong felt like he had missed out on having Seulgi to himself all alone.
"Should we go on a honeymoon?" it was Seulgi speaking. "Just the two of us? Leave the kids with our parents, go away for a few days..."
And despite wanting the isolation, Taeyong was very hesitant, much to her enjoyment as even though he agreed, even though they've booked everything, even though they're packed at at the door, the man just couldn't seem to leave his children behind.
"Arin please watch Hajoon, but also watch yourself. If anything, anything, happens, call us and we will come back immediately, got it."
Seulgi stood smiling watching him talk to their daughter, holding both her hands, his tone sullen and serious. He was always her dad, no matter who contributed to her existence, she was Taeyong's daughter and his daughter only.

I promise this would be the last time im gonna ask for a special chapter of fresh start 😭 im just so curious about what would be seulgi's mom reaction to her having a second baby with taeyong since she really wants taeyong for seulgi. Thank you 😘
No worries anon😂, although I don't have a whole story thought up for this specific scene, so maybe here's a short excerpt instead, hope you like it!
The way I see it, she'd be absolutely happy! Initially Seulgi's mum would be over the top ecstatic about the news, which they wouldn't actually tell them until it became obvious Seulgi was pregnant because she was still going through so much. She knew Taeyong would be the perfect dad as much as she knew he was already a perfect husband, and of course she wasn't going to say it out loud, but deep down she had been rooting for them to have a baby whenever she had hoped they'd be together instead of her ex son-in-law. (let's just say she was a dreamer, but who wouldn't be when seeing Seulgi blindly go through a bad relationship/marriage)
After a while though she'd start questioning things, eventually having a one on one with Taeyong about the new baby and Arin. But of course we all know Taeyong, he'd love both of them so much, and he made sure the message had gone through both his in-laws. He even showed the little diary planner he had involving everything to take care of pregnant Seulgi and Arin, even after the birth.
Seulgi's mum would easily trust him of course, but she'd still make her own planner and come over to help out almost every day. She'd want Seulgi so be relaxed to the max, but also made sure Taeyong wasn't overdoing himself with everything around the house.
Overall she'd be just as happy as the couple, and had her priorities the same way as them. I'd think when Seulgi went into labour, she and her husband would stay behind to watch Arin for the few days they'd be in hospital. And when the couple came home with the baby, she would've partially moved in to take care of Arin so that the couple could take time with the baby. She knew she shouldn't overstep her boundaries with a new baby, so she took up their other responsibility, and always reminded them that they're not bad parents just for being unable to stay next to Arin 24/7.

Kang Seulgi X Lee Taeyong

It took Seulgi some time to accept the fact she was pregnant while her daughter laid in coma, but she saw how well Taeyong took care of Arin, and simultaneously learned about pregnancy and newborns himself. After coming home everyday, he'd get busy with getting Arin's chores done, then before going to bed he'd read up and talk to Seulgi about pregnancy facts that fascinated him.
Seeing this Seulgi figured it's time for her to do her part too. By the time she was two months pregnant, she took it to herself to do Arin's chores, so that Taeyong could rest when he gets back. Of course he wouldn't let her do too much and kept pushing her to rest more than ever.
"Get out of the kitchen, shoo." Seulgi rolled her eyes as her husband pushed out of the kitchen again while she tried to make herself a snack. He then pushed her to the living room and forced her to sit, even lifting her feet up onto a cushion. "There we go, now stay here please. I'll get you something to eat." he instructed and left again.
He returned with a bowl of popcorn, placing a cushion on her belly before putting the bowl on top of that. He was always so careful, that her annoyance was always soon replaced with adoration and affection.
How she still wished it was him from the start.
"Eat. I'll go do Arin's rounds and then make dinner." he smiled and walked away, and Seulgi only wondered how was this man never tired. He went to work, came home barely an hour ago, and already started doing housework without a break or nap. She wondered if he was an angel.
And that lead her to feeling guilty.
Whenever she tried doing something to lessen his burden, he'd stop her and send her off to rest. Her doctor had told her to be careful because the first three months were a dangerous time, especially for someone who's already going through so much stress. But she still wanted to be able to do something.
As her pregnancy went by, her emotions started to rise. Taeyong became extra careful when speaking to her, though he noticed she seemed composed, he didn't want to take any chances of ticking her off.
Though one night caught him off guard. They returned to sleeping in their own bedroom ever since her pregnancy, and while shifting in his sleep, Taeyong jolted awake when his arm laid across an empty bed instead of hugging his wife like he intended to. He looked around the bedroom, and noticed the door creaked opened a little but, and quickly left bed to find his wife.
It didn't take long as he heard soft whimpers from the stairs, going to find his wife sitting at the top, hiding her face in her knees. "Seulgi?" he called softly, and when she didn't respond he crouched behind her and pet her back. "Love, what's wrong?"
Seulgi lifted her head slightly, just enough for her voice to be heard. "I'm... I'm a useless mother..."
Taeyong was caught off guard. He wondered if this was a mood swing, but so far hers have never been this bad. He sat next to her on the step and hugged her tight to himself. "Don't say that love. You are a great mother, and you'll be so again." he kissed her head before continuing. "Arin loves you so much. Our new baby will love you just as much."
"How?" she looked up at him, eyes and nose red from crying, tears still welling up in her eyes. "I couldn't protect one child, how will I protect another? I couldn't give one baby a healthy environment, what if I can't again? What if... what if I'm the one who hurts our baby?" She waited, but for some reason Taeyong kept a silent stare on her. Her heart paced faster as she got scared if she insulted him.
To her surprise he just smiled, albeit a little sadly, and cupped her cheeks, thumbs wiping away her tear streaks. "I know we promise not to speak of him, but listen to me. You protected Arin to your maximum, but raising a child alone is tough, and without support it's even harder." His hands moved to grab her shoulders, giving it a comforting squeeze. "What happened to Arin isn't because you failed to protect her, its because you had no one to help you do so. Sometimes, I even blame myself, if I hadn't been giving you the silent treatment, I would have gone to pick her up that day instead."
Seulgi's heart dropped seeing the regret in his eyes, his face clearly showing he was full of regret. She jumped slightly going closer to him, hugging him tight as she hid her face in his shoulder. "It's not your fault... you were there to warn me, but I overlooked it. I should have listened to you, but I was being stubborn... I'm sorry Taeyong, I still am."
"Shh..." Taeyong pet her back, one hand combing her hair as he kissed her head. "It's alright love, let's not dwell on the past." He pulled her out, smiling as he caressed her cheek again. "What I'm trying to say is, you're a good mother. You always have been and always will be. And this time you have me to support you no matter what. I'm here for you, Arin, and our new baby." his free hand went down to her abdomen, touching where the baby should be.
Seulgi teared up again, though a soft smile appeared on her face. Taeyong kissed her once more on the forehead before he stood up, pulling her arms along. "Let's go back to bed now, I can't sleep without you next to me." he pouted, which made her laugh much to his pleasure as he helped her up. "And I promise from now on, I won't pamper you too much out of your comfort." he kissed her hand as he spoke, and smiled noticing the look of relief on her face.
He guided his wife back to their bedroom, helping and tucking her in before getting inside the blanket next to her. Like a magnet his body immediately moved closer to her, his arm going around her body and pulling her even closer to his own, his other arm going under her head. Seulgi faced his chest, and as her husband slowly drifted off to sleep, she threw an arm over him as well and pushed herself against him more.
And as she drifted off herself, engulfed by the warmth of her forever love's, she smiled knowing she wouldn't have to worry about their baby as much as she did. She remembered all the good memories she shared with Arin as she raised her almost alone in a sense, yet how her daughter became such an amazing little girl. Her heart felt at ease now as she realised she didn't have anything to worry about being a mother.
Definitely not when Taeyong was by her side no matter what.

One thing i notice and find it fascinating that there's A LOT of fanfic/AUs that seulgi is mom or preggy 😭 not just seulyong i also read a lot of jaegi/seulkai au and seulgi always end up having a child or something 😭 she doesn't even give a mommy aura/vibes but i find it cute tho 😂
Ok firstly, which is jaegi???? lol
anyways, PERSONALLY when I write abt a couple progressing into life, I add it bcuz I like kids😅 it's not just for seulyong but for my other pairs too if I see fit (haven't done it for markoeun lol) nowadays I like stories to have slice of life in them hahah plus I often get seulyong parent requests so I guess others like it too?
Maybe it's bcuz I'm in my 20s now but when I do write abt seulgi, or anyone in general as a parent, I can picture what kind of mum she'd be, I mean I usually write abt them well into adulthood so yea, kids come in. But yea we don't really know or see her in that sense in real life lol, honestly my pairings are usually based on the plot & who I think wud suit it personality/aura wise
Ngl I didn't think this concept wud be common heh cuz ik a lot of ppl don't like the whole child/pregnancy concept to be end game🙃

4 years later...
“Arin, bring your brother down. We’re about to leave.” Taeyong shouted from the hallway downstairs for the children upstairs to hear. He Just finished putting on his coat then looked at his wife going through her bag one last time, confirming that she had packed everything. He smiled at the sight of her before moving next to her giving her a kiss on the cheek.
“What?” Seulgi chuckled and he shook his head. The couple turned to the stairs hearing footsteps running down, each child carrying their own backpack. Seulgi looked at them and smiled before carrying up the younger. “So I guess we’re all ready to go.”
“Yes mum!” Arin exclaimed as she hugged her father’s arm. “I’ve never been to Japan, I’m so excited! And we're meeting uncle Yuta too!”
Taeyong laughed as he locked up the house and went to the car where Seulgi had just buckled up three year old Hajun, then turned to help Arin in her seat. He went ahead and checked the last bag before closing the trunk and sat in the driver's seat.
The way to the airport was filled with music (mostly Hajun’s songs) and twelve year old Arin helping her younger brother sing the words clearly, followed by Seulgi leading them, and Taeyong's smile never left.
Three months after Hajun's birth, Arin was finally awake after almost two years. She didn't lose her memory, but it seemed the young girl didn't at all care about the sudden change in her life. From having a new father, to a baby brother, nothing made her question what happened while she was asleep. She was surprised at first, no doubt, but she had no hesitation accepting it.
While Seulgi was busy with the baby, Taeyong did everything to help Arin catch up on school and attend rehabilitation classes with her. As always Seulgi was worried if Taeyong felt it as a burden, however he kept reassuring her every day that Arin was his child now too and he loves her.
Of course at some point Arin had to know the truth, and oddly yet not surspisingly enough, it was Taeyong who ended up telling her.
"He didn't want to stay, he..."
"He didn't like us anymore, didn't he? He left us for other people?" the nine year old asked straight away, not wanting her father to beat around the bush. Taeyong sighed and pulled her to his chest, combing her hair.
"I'm sorry Arin."
"Why dad?" she looked up with a sudden but sincere smile. "You don't have to say sorry. You're my dad now, and I'm happy. You're the best dad anyone could ever ask for." she exclaimed hugging him tighter.
On the plane, Arin sat with her father while Hajun with his mother since he still needed extra care from her. It wasn't too long, but the children fell into naps the moment they took off. Both parents lifted off the middle arm rest and let them lay on their laps, Hajun having his milk bottle still in his mouth.
Once landed Arin was quick to wake up and help her mother while Seulgi strapped up a still sleeping Hajun to Taeyong's front. They went across the airport until they came to the baggage claim.
"Mum, can I go to the toilet real quick?" Arin suddenly asked, to which Seulgi nodded directing her to the nearest restroom. Knowing her child, she wasn't too afraid of her getting lost so she allowed her to go on her own.
After finishing up and washing her hands, Arin was just about to leave the restroom when she bumped into a man coming out the of the male one next to her. "Oh, sorry. Are you OK?" the man spoke and crouched down patting her head. Arin rubbed her nose and smiled at him reassuringly.
Only for her smile to drop in an instant.
She stared at the man, but she knew she had to be quick. "I'm fine. Sorry. Bye." she spoke quickly before running away towards wherever.
Why's he here... I can't tell mum and dad...
"Hey hey hey." she stopped at a halt when she felt a hand grab her shirt from behind. "Where are you running off to young lady?" she turned on her tiptoes and faced her father before squirming out if his grip and suddenly hugging his torso tight. Taeyong stood flustered by her actions before crouching to hug her back, her face in his shoulder as he heard her uneven breaths and knew for sure something wasn't right.
After a minute she seemed to have calmed, his hand combing through her hair and another now pulling her up to carry her away with him. As he neared where his wife sat with their luggage, he stopped and instead sat a little further away, out of her sight.
"Arin." he called calmly and pulled her out of his shoulder, cupping her face in one hand gently. He waited, for her to pick up enough strength to look up at him, which took a minute for her to do. He smiled at her and brushed her hair back. "Tell me. What happened?"
Arin bit her lip, not wanting to ruin their trip on the first day itself. But if there was one person she'd never lie to, it was Taeyong. She took a deep breath, before leaning against her father's chest. "Daddy..." she spoke softly, voice breaking in fear. "I love you."
"I love you too Arin." Taeyong replied softly, petting her back.
"You're my only daddy."
"Yes Arin. I'm your only dad."
"Even if I run into him, I'd choose you any day."
Tumblr media
The father and daughter kept it a secret, knowing the last thing Seulgi would want to hear on their family trip is her ex husband's presence in the same town as them. It was already their second day and they were visiting the Universal Studios theme park in Osaka with the Nakamoto family. Taeyong took note of Arin’s emotions, so far seeming overjoyed. He didn’t tell Seulgi this either, but the past two nights they were here, Arin had cried in her sleep, and when he asked why all she could say was seeing her biological father’s face in her dreams.
He didn’t understand why it was taking such an effect on her. Did she actually miss him but didn’t want to say so? Did he do something wrong back then? Did they talk at the airport?
Tonight as they returned, he decided he needed to talk to Arin. He needed her to come clear about this, because that was the only way he could help. As Seulgi washed up and tucked in Hajun, he excused himself to go check on Arin who slept in the room next to them in the hotel suite.
Looking into the room, he saw Arin just getting into bed and stared smiling at her. "How was it today?" he asked taking seat right next to her as she tucked herself in. The young girl smiled wide.
"It was great! I loved the minions!" she exclaimed. Taeyong chuckled combing her hair, his mind however filled with thoughts on how to speak about the topic.
And he decided the best way was to be straight forward. "Arin, be honest with me."
"Yes daddy?"
"Did something happen between you and, uhm... your ex dad?" he realised how badly he worded it, but nothing was coming to his mind. "You've been acting strange since you bumped into him..."
Arin bit her lips, her heart hurting. In all honesty she had no ounce of affection, she never missed him. But seeing him after so many years, especially after coma, it hurt her.
"I really don't know daddy..." she teared up. Taeyong got in under the cover next to her and pulled her to his chest, the young girl letting go of her tears immediately into her father's shirt. "I just, it hurts. I don't know why... When I saw him, he looks so normal, he didn't even recognise me. I don't even miss him, but it hurts..."
He shushed her, making white noise as he combed her hair when she suddenly pulled out and looked at him. "Please don't take it the wrong way." she quickly said before hugging him tight. "I love you daddy, I hate that man. I'm sorry he's making me cry. I know I promised I wouldn't cry over guys, but I can't help it..."
Taeyong chuckled sadly, shifting in his place so that she laid on his chest, head on his shoulder. "I'm not mad Arin. I'm worried about you. You're my daughter, I don't like seeing you sad." he let out a sigh and kissed her hair. "Let's try to forget that from now on, OK. I'll help you."
Taeyong knew that he couldn't just force her to erase the memory of her biological father just like that, no matter how much they love each other. Arin didn't lose her memory, she was a smart child even back then when she knew her father's love was absent. She knew, the moment she woke up and accepted her new reality, that he left them even before Taeyong told her anything. And no matter how much she despised him, it was no surprise that it broke her heart when he really didn't recognise her after all these years, and if Seulgi found out, it would've broke her heart too.
Tumblr media
On their last day, they stayed at Yuta's house as Sooyoung was persistent to have them overnight for one day at least. The children played out in the backyard while the dads started the barbeque, and inside the mothers cooked up some ramen and sides. Not too long after they heard an ice cream truck, and soon enough the kids were at the dads feet begging to go.
Yuta wasn't one to resist and took out some money, handing it to Arin who's the eldest among both family's children. "Knock yourselves out. Don't eat too much though, your mums will kill us." he winked.
Arin led the three younger out to the front road where more neighbourhood children lined up. She stood holding her brother's hand while her two friends conversed in Japanese with their friends. She didn't speak much, but could understand.
"Who are they Nako?" a kid asked Yuta's older girl, a year younger than Arin.
"Our friends from Korea. Remember, my mum's Korean."
When it was their turn, Nako helped choose while Arin payed, stuffing the change in her pocket. Yuta's kids were now playing hopscotch on the pavement with the other kids, Nako tugging her and Hajun to join them, though the three year old was mostly running across the lines.
“You are Nako’s friend?” a young boy, seemingly five or six, suddenly spoke to Arin as she stood aside to finish her ice cream. Arin was shocked to hear him speak korean but nodded in response. “That’s cool! I’m half korean too just like her.” he smiled raising his hand for a high five to which Arin responded smiling back.
“How?” she asked curiously.
“My dad’s Korean. My name is Akito, I’m five.”
“I’m Arin, twelve.” she looked away after responding, turning her attention to Hajun to make sure he wouldn’t get hurt. Nako suddenly called her to go back home and she grabbed her brother. “Bye Akito.”
As the children entered the backyard they heard Nako’s mother yelling. “I swear to God Nakamoto if you send them out alone again I will have your head on the barbeque instead!”
“Arin was with them...”
“She’s new here you idiot!” Seulgi yelled along. “What if they were lost! What if they were kidnapped!”
The kids quickly ran away to the living room, trying not to laugh at both mothers yelling at Yuta and finishing off the last of their ice cream before they were caught. Taeyong soon came in and sighed shaking his head, helping Hajun wipe his face to get rid of the evidence. “Please not one word about the ice cream.” he whispered, knowing Hajun was still too young to understand the concept of keeping secrets.
Luckily the young boy’s attention was taken away by the other kids playing with toys, and Taeyong returned outside to see the others were back to normal, except for Yuta’s slightly sulking face. They finished up with the barbeque and set it on the picnic table they had, the mothers bringing in the ramen and sides. The kids were called to eat, and surprisingly enough they ate more than expected despite the ice cream. Soon Arin and Nako helped clean up, while Yuta pulled out the mini pool for the kids.
While he filled it up, Arin was the first to come out in her swimsuit and helped throw some toys in, when she heard a familiar voice.
“Hi Arin!” she looked to see the young boy from earlier, Akito, waving. She waved back, when her face lost all colour. “Look dad, she’s the girl I told you about.”
Yuta knew all too well, and looked at Arin to see her completely still. He then looked back at the child who’s father now stood beside him, but he could tell he didn’t recognise her. “So she’s your new friend? Isn’t she much older than you?” he joked with his son.
“Arin noona is really nice.”
“Arin?” the man raised a brow once hearing the name, looking back at Arin then smiled.
Yuta could tell Arin’s discomfort, so he dropped the hose and went to her, crouching to her ear. “Go inside. Don’t tell your mother, go straight to your dad .” he whispered to which she nodded and quickly ran inside, not stopping until she reached her father. Taeyong had just finished helping Hajun into his swimsuit and let him run out, when Arin’s body came crashing into him and held him tight.
“He’s here...” she spoke softly, fear in her voice. “He’s outside.”
Taeyong pulled her out and looked at her shocked. “Are you sure?” she nodded.
“Uncle Yuta saw him too, he sent me inside... Dad, what if he takes me from you? I don’t want to go...” tears welled up in her eyes and Taeyong wiped them off and hugged her tight, holding in his own.
“No one will take you from us Arin, not as long as your mother and I are alive.”
Taking her hand, Taeyong walked out to see what was going on so far. He peeked out the main door and saw the kids already in the pool, Yuta and Sooyoung attending them. But his wife was no where to be seen, and upon noticing his presence, Sooyoung ran to him. “Taeyong, he was here. When Arin ran in she saw and came outside to check. They’re talking outside the gate...”
Taeyong let go of Arin and quickly went to the gate and, as bad as he felt, eavesdropped over their conversation.
“Well, I married and moved here now. It is my wife’s hometown.”
“I see...”
“Arin grew a lot.” his muscles tensed hearing her name from the man. “Glad to see her up and healthy. How long did it take?”
“Two years.”
“Does she remember me?”
The question made both the couple tense up even more. If Seulgi said yes there’s a chance he’d ask to see her, and if she said no he’d be sceptical about it and still ask to see her.
Hearing his wife silent for a minute, Taeyong decided it was time for him to step in. “Seulgi come, Hajun’s looking for you.” he walked out as if he heard nothing, pretending to be surprised by her ex’s presence. “Oh, hello. Long time no see.” he said extending his hand to shake. The man nodded with a smile taking his hand.
“You too. I see you two married, Hajun must be your child. Glad you moved on quick.” he chuckled. Seulgi nodded, still a little uncomfortable, before Taeyong took her hand and held it reassuringly. She looked back up at the man and sighed.
“He’s also Arin’s father now, I asked him to adopt.”
“That’s good.” the man replied, his face seemingly without much care. “Well I best be off, don’t want to ruin your party. Bye.” he bowed before walking to where his son was, and the couple watched him take his hand and head back home.
Tumblr media
The rest of the barbeque went on as if nothing happened before. Arin seemed to have enjoyed herself to her parents relief, and they themselves stayed optimistic not wanting to ruin the mood. As night fell, the kids were all sent to bed. Taeyong tucked in both his children into bed and noticed Seulgi standing next to Arin, the mother daughter simply exchanging gazes. He could see both love and hurt in their eyes and moved to their side of the bed. Taking Seulgi’s hand he gave it a chaste kiss before bending to Arin and kissing her forehead.
“Sleep well. We’re going back to Korea tomorrow, and to your grandparent’s house after so it’ll be tiring.” Arin smiled at her father as he did so after whispering, before he got up and walked out the room with his wife. Once in the other guest room where they were sleeping in, the two sat on the bed sighing.
“Why here...” Seulgi mumbled. “Everything was going great, and he just had to appear...”
Taeyong turned to his wife and moved closer, holding her hand in both his. “Nothing happened Seulgi... Honestly I don’t know why we were so scared? It’s not like he would actually want to take you or Arin back right?”
“You’re right...” she sighed again before hugging Taeyong, cuddling up into his chest. “He’s moved on even before everything happened. I have no reason to think about it like that. I have you and Arin and Hajun, and that’s all I’ll need for the rest of my life.”
Tumblr media
“You should visit us next time. Will you be coming fo Chuseok this year?” Seulgi asked her friend as they stood outside the Nakamoto house, Taeyong putting their lugguage into the back of Yuta’s car.
“Maybe, my parents have been missing the kids a lot.” Sooyoung replied. The women hugged before Sooyoung went back inside after the children said their goodbyes too. Yuta got into the driver’s seat and started the car while Taeyong closed up the back.
“Hey.” he looked behind, freezing for a bit at the presence of Seulgi’s ex again. “I know you probably hate to see me, but I just have something.”
Biting his lip, Taeyong made sure Seulgi and the kids were already in the car before nodding to him. “What is it?”
He suddenly pulled out a bag from behind him and handed it to him. “When you reach home, give this to Arin please.” Taeyong looked at the bag, then back at him and the man noticed the fear before he chuckled.
“I’m not taking her away from you if that’s what you’re thinking. I don’t plan on ruining your lives, I’ve done enough of that I believe. But... one thing I do regret was hurting Arin. I did fall out of love with Seulgi, I won’t lie about that, but I genuinely loved Arin. It was just hard for me to be a good father when I wasn’t in the relationship I wanted to be in. I probably sound like an asshole right now, but I was so caught up avoiding Seulgi and wanting to be with my current wife, I neglected Arin too when I really had no intention to. Then with how you were always around with her, it made me realise that you deserve them more than me. That’s why I was easy admit everything and let Arin go after the divorce. I loved her but I knew I couldn’t make up for what I failed to give her. I knew you were a better father to her than I ever could be, and I was right.”
The man's words didn't leave Taeyong's mind even as they went to bed. After reaching Korea they drove straight to his parents' house to visit and decided to stay the night before going home the next day. What he said in the end was what stuck to his mind the most.
"If possible I'd like to see her again sometime. My family don't know and I don't want them to get involved, I just hope to see her again after all these years. I know I was absent as a father, I just want to see how she feels about me."
He didn't tell Seulgi but he knew without her permission he had no right to decide on this. Arin was still her child, and this case involved the man who stepped out of their life. As he laid in bed staring at the ceiling, his worried face didn't go unnoticed by his wife as she got under the covers next to him. She moved closer and cuddled up to him taking his attention.
"What's bothering you? Looks like something has been in you mind all day."
Taeyong sighed and turned on his side to face her, thinking of a way to tell her everything. "So, you know when I was loading our bags into Yuta's trunk when we were leaving?" she nodded confused. "Well, Jongin came to me, with a gift for Arin I still have on my bag. He told me how much he actually missed her, and regrets ignoring her just because he was with someone else behind your back. He said despite what he felt with you, he still loved her as his child."
Seulgi looked down to his chest biting her lip, fingers playing with the buttons of his pyjama top. He caressed her hair soothingly before he continued. "He said, if it's alright, he'd like to meet her again, properly. He won't take her away, his current family doesn't know about him finding us. He just wants to see her again."

part 2 of Nothing Wrong

Slowly the employees became accustomed to the couple, lesser people making a fuss about it, and lesser people staring at Seulgi. It took some time but they started noticing how she actually wasn't taking any advantage, that in reverse Taeyong was the one who loved and tried to spoil her.
Of course she didn't let him, but she couldn't always control what he does so just lets him do whatever his heart desires. Especially during occasions and festivities, he'd never hold himself back with a budget when it came to buying gifts for her.
He never expected anything back, but on Christmas Seulgi knew her present would beat any new car or dress or jewellery he could get, and she smiled seeing him take it out of the little box. His eyes quivered, too many thoughts going through his head, unable to process a proper reaction. It was something he's brought up recently, saying they were ready and glad when she agreed.
He didn't think it would happen so soon.
Feeling his wife's hand hold his he came back to his senses and looked at her, eyes now teary but a smile on his face. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into a tight hug, peppering kisses all over her face and neck, until he stopped and just pressed his forehead onto hers, their lips just touching as they both smiled.
"Merry Christmas, daddy Yong." Seulgi whispered before they kissed.
>>>
Nothing could've made New Year's any more depressing than Seulgi's state at the hospital, Taeyong keeping a straight face as he held his dishevelled crying wife in his arms. As it turned out she was already a month pregnant by the time she found out, but she didn't know, so some daily work tasks plus other complications lead to losing the baby a week after their happy Christmas.
"I'm so sorry... I'm sorry Taeyong... I'm a terri-"
"Shh..." Taeyong kissed her forehead to stop her from degrading herself anymore. "It's not your fault, neither of us knew. It's not your fault at all baby. You're fine, we're fine."
Of course he was hurt inside, but he knew Seulgi was even more hurt. He also allowed the fact that it was a barely grown foetus to reason out not being too upset, so throughout the next few days did the same with Seulgi.
She didn't like how normal her husband was behaving, other than taking extra care of her for a couple of days of recovery, but she pushed to move on too following the same logic as him.
It took them a while to get over together, and they managed to do it well as they went back to work regularly, and life at home was back to normal. Both their parents urged for Seulgi to get a check-up considering the complications, but Taeyong dismissed it saying it's too soon, and not for anyone to bring it up again.
Time went by and it was soon Valentine's Day, and Taeyong was determined to make it as special as he could for his wife. She had been working extra hard to take her mind off things, so he had the maids prepare their apartment as comforting as possible for her to have a relaxing yet romantic night with him.
As her co-workers left earlier for their dates, Seulgi stayed until closing time before leaving, smiling when she saw her husband had been waiting for her in the lobby. She ran up to him and hugged, already feeling relaxed at the scent of his cologne. "Let's go home. I have a surprise for you." Taeyong whispered to which she chuckled. The ride was silent but comforting, Seulgi's head laid back against her seat with her eyes closed as she rested. Once they reached, Taeyong didn't hesitate to carry her up bridal style all the way up to his apartment.
He put her down once they reached the living room, softened lights and rose petals catching her attention. She chuckled looking at her husband before moving closer to him, arms around his neck as she tiptoed to kiss him.
"You're something else." she spoke between kisses. "I love you so much." she pulled away, her eyes suddenly teary. "Thank you for everything Taeyong... especially the past few weeks, I-"
"Shh..." Taeyong shushed her quickly, pulling her face into his chest. "It's all good now, don't bring it up. We're happy, you're happy, and I can never love you any less than I ever do."
Seulgi shed a few tears into his shirt when he pulled her out to press their foreheads together, hugging her close as soft music played and he swayed around with her in an attempt to dance. Of course she gave in and smiled as they went on with their romantic night.
>>>
Seulgi felt like she could just die any second. It was like the universe was against her. Like someone had cursed her to die childless.
A week after their romantic Valentine's night, Seulgi discovered she was pregnant again. She told Taeyong immediately and they took precautions right away.
But to no avail. A month later, she miscarried again. This time the doctors had no explanation regarding her physiological health, and simply concluded that it was out of luck. Seulgi couldn't handle it and locked herself away in the bathroom for hours, Taeyong sitting against the door on the other side silently, saying affectionate nothings every few minutes to reassure her he's always by her.
Weakly, after an hour, she unlocked the door. He went in and hugged her on the floor, where they both sat longer, wanting nothing than to just be alone. He told her not to attend work for the next week, which she listened to. He stayed home as well, wanting to give her his full time and attention. Only leaving the bedroom for food, Seulgi stayed stuck in bed while Taeyong did small tasks for work when he wasn't cuddling her.
Even after recovering, however, her heart felt empty. She knew what she was missing, but she didn't know how to fill it up. Her friends took her to a pet café, but she seemed uninterested the entire time. Her brother even took her back to their hometown for a day, but she only smiled quietly through the trip.
One day she did something she never imagined she would, skip work. She waited until Taeyong left for work saying she'll go later, but instead of getting ready for work, she simply threw on a hoodie and leggings and headed out. She silenced her phone, wanting complete peace and quiet as she walked through the streets heading nowhere. She let her feet take lead, and found herself at the park opposite to the local day-care. She sat on a swing and drifted off in thought, when she heard screams of children fill the air. Looking at the day-care, she figured it was their playtime as the children filled up the area going in any and all directions.
A smiled crept on to her face, but so did a tear down her cheek. "Are you OK eonni?" she looked down to see a little girl staring up at her. Seulgi guessed she was probably three or four, quickly wiping away her tear and smiled.
"I'm OK, thank you."
"Why are you sad?"
She sighed. "I want something, but it goes away before I can hold it every time..."
"Is it the cloud?" the young girl cheered, Seulgi looking perplexed. "I always want to touch the cloud, but it keeps moving away, and they're so up..." she pouted.
Seulgi laughed. She didn't know when was the last time she laughed like this, but she felt full. Her heart no longer felt empty, and as the little girl ran off to play with her friends she knew she might never feel like this again for a long time. Sighing, she watched the kids play until they were taken back inside, and noticed the time. Taeyong would be having lunch now, so she decided to just go visit him. She didn't care if it seemed off she came in like this, not even wanting to clock in.
She soon she reached the building and walked up to the lunch room where Taeyong would be. She was finally in a good mood and wanted to share this short moment with her husband, knowing how down she must have made the house the past few days.
Though walking into his designated spot, her mood dropped.
There he was, with a woman sitting right next to him. A little too close. Taeyong was smiling as she spoke about something she said, and it just sunk a hole in her heart again.
All she's caused him the past few weeks were frowns.
She shook her head off of all the negative thoughts and decided to just approach him, getting his attention the closer she got. His face showed worry and he immediately stood up. "Hi Yongie." she greeted hugging him, feeling content as he kissed her head.
"Did you not clock in today?" he asked looking at her, still holding her in his embrace. "Do you feel OK?"
Seulgi nodded timidly. "I just didn't feel like working today, sorry..."
"Don't apologise. It's fine, I'll get a sick leave in for you." she glared at him, still the same wife who doesn't like the advantage from him, but she knew he wouldn't budge this time. He dragged her to sit next to him, smiling when she saw him pull the chair close enough so their arms would touch, then stood away. "I'll get you some food. This is Soyeon by the way, a friend. You ladies talk while I come back."
Seulgi turned to the said lady and smiled. "I'm Seulgi, Taeyong's wife."
The lady chuckled. "I know you. Your husband's the type to never stop parading you around."
Seulgi chuckled, albeit a little nervous as she observed the lady. She was very pretty no doubt, and even her style was on point, her sitting position very ladylike. Beside her Seulgi felt like a bum, not having had energy to properly take care of herself the past few weeks.
"How are you guys acquainted?"
"Oh, we were friends in high school, dated for a short while actually for fun." the lady chuckled and grimaced at the memory. "Wasn't anything serious, it was just to play around."
That definitely didn't make Seulgi feel any better.
Taeyong soon came back with some kimbap for her, smiling as he sat next to her. "Eat up, I'll send you home." he said, but noticed her frown.
"I was hoping to hang out with you, in your office."
Taeyong sighed, pouting slightly. "I'd love to, but I have a meeting the rest of the day, that's actually why Soyeon's here." she turned to the lady who nodded.
"I'm working at a firm in China, and came here for a couple of weeks for a joint venture with your company."
Seulgi sighed but smiled at them. "It's alright then, I'll go home myself." she rubbed her husband's arm. "Go for the meeting, focus well. Don't worry about me."
Taeyong took her hand and kissed it. "I'll get a driver to send you back, you are not leaving alone."
>>>
She didn't know why, but despite seeing her husband's workload the next two weeks, the whole idea of Soyeon's presence bothered Seulgi to the core. During the first week of the joint venture meetings, she'd always catch the two hanging out together, sometimes not noticing her and walking past. And that hurt her, it obviously would. But she ignored when noticing Taeyong's serious face one time.
They're just discussing business...
Though it wouldn't be for long before she got bothered again, as she waited for Taeyong to get home for a promised dinner together. She suggested it, and he wholeheartedly agreed feeling they hadn't had much time to themselves. But here she was, waiting two hours for her husband, yet didn't receive a single call or text of his whereabouts. Just as she was about to call, she heard the beeping of the security lock, and ran to the door to see her husband trudge in.
His tie was loosely hanging off his neck, suit in hand, top shirt buttons opened, and his hair brushed through messily. He leaned against the shoe cabinet exhaustedly, dropping his bag on the ground in an attempt to remove his shoes but kept stumbling as he bent down. Seulgi moved closer and quickly grabbed his arm as he was about to trip again, grunting when he couldn't take it off.
"Sit down, I'll help." she said softly, guiding him to the bench near the door to sit as she crouched onto the ground to untie his shoes.
"Thanks..." he grunted softly. After doing her task she sat next to him, holding his hand in both hers. She was about to speak, when he suddenly sat up. "I'm going to bed."
"But, dinner? I was waiting for you..."
"I'm not hungry. You should have ate." he said before walking away to their bedroom.
At this Seulgi became upset. He never spoke to her this way, and she suddenly missed the clingy man she married and used to scold. She wondered what happened that caused him to be like this today, so dishevelled and cut off from her.
No smell of alcohol, so he wasn't drunk. Maybe stress...
Sighing she packed away the dinner, ate a little bit herself, then headed to the bedroom to see him already asleep. She climbed in next to him and hovered above him slightly, pushing away some hair from his forehead and kissing it. "Please tell me if anything's bothering you..." she whispered, pressing her forehead onto his gently, unable to hold back her sudden tears. "I miss you... I'm sorry I can't give you what you want, I'm sorry I'm incompetent as a wife... " her arm snaked around his torso, hugging his body tight. "Don't leave me..."
"What makes you think I'd leave you?"
Seulgi gasped and pulled away quickly, seeing his eyes slightly open looking back at her. "You're awake?"
"I am now." he responded before turning onto his side to face her. "What are you thinking Seulgi? What makes you think I'd leave you? Or that you're an incompetent wife?"
She looked down, unable to answer. She didn't want to, remembering that she promised herself never to bring up this subject in front of him again. It's just jealousy. "I just felt like you've been distant lately... I didn't mean to get so upset, maybe its PMS..."
Taeyong sighed and laid back down, pulling her with him into his embrace. "Sleep. I'm sorry about dinner, I'll take you for a date tomorrow to make up for it." he kissed her cheek, going back to sleep.
Seulgi just laid in her arms and prayed that her thoughts would go away.
As promised, he did take her out for a date the next day, and with no thoughts of work they were able to have intimate moments. Even at night when they returned to their bed, Seulgi smiled through the pleasure, happy to finally have her husband in her arms this way. Taeyong was being very loving throughout, even making sure she was fine afterwards as they sat in a bubble bath together.
"We needed this..."
>>>
The joint venture meetings took more than a month, which Seulgi found out was why Taeyong came back so exhausted that night as he had a fight with some of the shareholders, and he halted everything for an entire week getting mad, and later started them again for another two weeks. She laid off being clingy with him and let him do his work no matter how long it took, and busied herself with her own tasks.
Though she started noticing that it wasn't just her, but many other employees started talking about Soyeon, moreover in regards of Taeyong. She heard her co-workers whispering about how close they were, always together even after meeting hours. She ignored it all obviously, but it didn't work for too long once she saw them hanging out at the mall one day while she was there with her friends.
They were laughing together, and her friends gasped as she suddenly dropped the bag in her hand and ran off. They followed her until outside the building where she crouched down on the floor and heaved deep breaths, suddenly falling on the ground unconscious. "Seulgi? What's wrong? Call for an ambulance!" her friends rushed around doing whatever they could until the ambulance arrived and she was rushed to the hospital.
It was about an hour after she was admitted when she woke up, Wendy and Sooyoung next to her. "Seulgi, there's something you should know..." Wendy started to speak when the curtain flung open, Taeyong standing there panting and quickly moved next to the bed.
"What happened? Are you OK? Tell me everything!" he rambled on holding her hand in his, shocked when she weakly pulled it back. "Baby what's wrong?"
Her friends stood there awkwardly, leaving immediately when the doctor appeared. "Are you her husband?" Taeyong nodded. "You're wife is currently three weeks pregnant, congratulations. I'll be transferring her to our gynaecologist right away, so don't leave yet."
Taeyong thanked the doctor and waited until she left closing the curtain, then looked back at his wife. "Did you know?" she didn't respond, staring at the IV drip. "Seulgi what's wrong? Why won't you speak to me?" His phone suddenly rang, and she got a peak at who it was, tearing her heart even more.
But Taeyong was sharp. He noticed her expression immediately and cut the call before turning his phone on silent, forcibly holding her hand this time. "I won't let go until you explain to me what's going on. Talk."
"I don't want to." she mumbled looking away again. "Just go back to your meetings, or mall hangouts, whatever you call it."
"Seulgi-"
"Sir." Taeyong got cut off and they looked to see the nurse come in with a wheelchair. "We're here to help take her to the gynaecologist."
They sat in silence in the doctor's room waiting for her to come, when Taeyong suddenly took her hand again, holding it tight this time. "You saw me at the mall, is that what you mean?" no response. "We went there for lunch after the meeting."
"Of course you did." Seulgi mumbled looking away. Taeyong knew he had to keep his cool, and held her chin to turn her to face her.
"If you're thinking anything otherwise, stop. You know me Seulgi, I'd never go behind your back. Yes I had a meeting today, we happened to end early so Soyeon suggested we go to the mall and eat to get out of the office for a while. Also, she's married, so stop thinking about her like that."
Seulgi nodded, albeit a little sarcastically. "I guess it's my fault for having such thoughts..."
The doctor came in, putting whatever was left of their conservation on hold. She first went through Seulgi's symptoms, then moved onto the ultrasound scan. Taeyong silently watched the screen, and no matter how upset he was, he couldn't hold back the smile and tear pooling in his eye. Seulgi noticed it, and suddenly sadness filled in her heart.
"I'll just go grab the pregnancy book for you, and check with the previous doctor on your health since you fell unconscious earlier. Wait here please."
The couple were left alone, Seulgi sitting up on the bed silently. "Don't get your hopes up." she mumbled, loud enough for her husband to hear. He sighed and sat at the foot of the bed.
"I will." he said sternly. "Every time you're pregnant, I will pray and hope our baby comes to our arms healthy. Whatever happens after is out of our hands." He moved closer and grabbed her hand tight again. "And just so you know, I don't blame you for those thoughts earlier. I know I've been very dismissive of you the past few weeks, and I hate that I didn't tell you about work sooner so you wouldn't have had to think why."
He cupped her cheek with his free hand, pushing up her face to look at him. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much for you, but it's over now. The joint venture failed so I have nothing more to worry about, and Soyeon's going back tomorrow so don't worry about that either. Right now, I want our full focus to be on us, our relationship, our family." He sat next to her this time, hugging her sideways. "We were still newlyweds when we thought we could balance work and family, but everything until now proved us wrong. Starting from today, I'm putting you on leave, and I'll switch to working from home. I've thought about it, and figured after the last two times, the best way to prepare for a baby is to take time off and focus on ourselves."
He heard her sniffle, and knew she was crying when one hand grasped his shirt tight. "I'm sorry-"
"Shh..." he cut her off, kissing her forehead. "You have nothing to be sorry for baby."
>>>
Staying off work, with extra care, Seulgi was already seven months pregnant now and the baby was healthy. Taeyong did everything he could to help her maintain her health, both physically and mentally. Sometimes he had to leave for emergency meetings, but always kept her on call to make sure she was doing good.
It did take some time at the beginning for Seulgi to feel happy again, and he knew it wasn't her fault. With everything that had happened before, plus her changing hormones, she was bound to go through slight depression, and he was only thankful they worked through it quick and successfully.
Just like any other night, Taeyong sat in bed working with his laptop on a small table, Seulgi asleep next to him. Her body faced him, arm across his waist. Every now and then he'd look at her and smile, brushing through her hair, touching her baby bump, before getting back to work.
Once he felt he was done, he put everything away and got under the covers, pulling his wife into his arms and kissed her lips softly. He felt slight movement as her baby bump pressed against his own tummy, and chuckled at how the baby seemed to be shifting in its sleep.
He kissed her lips again, and whispered "I love you." before falling asleep himself too. He made it a priority to remind her every day she's loved, he loves her, their love is never ending, no matter the obstacles that come in their way.

Nothing Wrong (m)
Kang Seulgi X Lee Taeyong
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warning: mature tag(s): @gerardeveryway
"This is wron- Ya!" Seulgi smacked his back feeling his teeth sinking into her collar. "Get off!"
The man chuckled as she pushed him off, quickly fixing herself while looking to the door to make sure it's locked before looking back at him. "We're at work, you can't just make out whenever you want." she scolded. Taeyong simply shrugged, smiling while watching her collect the files she was supposed to just bring over. "Well, since you've approved of these, I'm going back to work."
Taeyong loved how dangerous it was, it was thrilling for him to touch her secretly whenever he could with the fear of being caught by almost anyone. It was his father's company so it didn't bother him to actually be caught by others, but he respected Seulgi. She was a great employee, and the last thing he'd want was for her to become the new punching bag for the lifeless gossipers in the building.
He watched as she left the room, eyes never leaving her figure from behind. He was so irrevocably attracted to her, and while the upper management noticed his antics and spoke up about how wrong it was, he knew it wasn't. He knew only he had the right to stare at her like that.
In the break room, Seulgi went in for lunch, taking out her homemade food from the fridge. She sat by herself at a corner, going through her phone as she ate, until she heard others coming in.
"Well, hello Ms Kang." she looked up to see her department manager. "Did you get those papers approved from the chairman's son?"
"Yes sir."
"Well, that was easier than expected." he added on, much to Seulgi's displeasure. Being one of the only women in her sector was hard, especially when the only other four women turned their backs on her too. She never understood why they hated her, all she's done is do her job properly. Seulgi was a woman of good work ethic, making sure she's finished off everything due beforehand before even thinking of having fun.
"She is the so-called favourite." she heard one of the lady's mumble to another as they walked in and turned to Seulgi. "How could you get done something that took us a week to get approved?" she asked sourly.
"Well, I did make an appointment beforehand, and clarified everything a wee-" she stopped seeing them roll their eyes at her, realising it was a waste of breath to explain herself. Sighing, she quickly finished up and cleared everything away before heading to the coffee corner. She heard them get up after some time.
"Let's go before we fall behind her." she heard one of the ladies say. "Hard to believe someone dressed like her actually gets things done with higher ups."
She knew what they meant, looking down at her blouse and pants. Yes she chose how she dressed, she liked it, but for some reason it did the opposite of what she hoped for.
Bringing attention.
She waited until she was sure they all had left before letting out a staggering breath, finally mixing things into her coffee. Her mind drifted off as she did, when she felt a pair of arms suddenly wrap around her waist and a body against her back.
"There's camera's here." she mumbled, only to hear a chuckle.
"I own the building."
"Correction, your dad owns the building."
Another chuckle and a kiss on her collar. "Well I'll take over some day." he leaned closer to her ear. "And when I do, I'll make sure no one ever talks to you like that again."
This got her full attention as she turned her head to look at him. "Don't. I told you, I don't want you doing these things for me."
Taeyong sighed, pressing himself onto her more with his head now resting on her shoulder. "I'll be the boss, and it's my responsibility to make sure all employees are doing well. And I'm allowed to be extra caring of you, you're not just an employee here." he suddenly moved away and turned her around, hands on her waist as he pulled her closer again so their foreheads touched. "You also happen to be my wife."
This was her weakness. Taeyong's loving smile to her as her life partner, her husband. She didn't know who he was when they dated, not even until after their engagement. She freaked out finding out he was the son of the chairman of the company she was already working in, so she always stopped him making things easy for her, which took much more effort than she thought. But it also meant not being seen in public together, not until much later at least, and that was torture for a man like Taeyong who was simply infatuated by his wife.
Seulgi smiled softly, getting another chuckle and soft kiss from him. "There's that smile I fell for." she couldn't help when he was being this way, finally giving in as she leaned into his hug, head against his chest. "You're probably the first ever chairman's wife who doesn't take advantage of their husband's power." he joked.
"That's because you're not the chairman yet, and I don't like that idea." she retorted making a sarcastic face at him. He could only smile, giving another peck on her nose this time.
"And I love that about you. But I wish you'd take my help when you know you really need it. I hate to see you suffer for no actual reason. They hate you for being a good employee? How lifeless."
Seulgi chuckled softly leaning back into his chest as they hugged longer, swaying gently side to side. She sighed feeling relaxed in his hold, closing her eyes hearing his heartbeat. After a while she pushed out of him, hands fixing his crooked tie. "Time to get back. I'll see you tonight." she pecked his lips much to his pleasure.
>>>
As night came, Seulgi packed up to leave when she received a sudden text from her husband asking her to come up to his office. Figuring there would be less people around, she replied and headed up immediately after clearing up her desk. She went in straight away seeing even his assistant had left, and saw Taeyong sitting at his desk, face hidden in his hands as he looked tired. She sighed softly and dropped her bag on the sofa before walking up next to him. She knew how hard work was getting for him, more than herself, and that despite his playful outlook he was in fact a man in need of rest.
Seulgi felt bad for him, her hand going up to his hair and combing through to soothe him, when he suddenly held her waisr and pulled her to sit on his one knee. His head was now resting against her chest instead as he groaned as a signal for her to continue massaging his scalp. She chuckled as she did so, resting her head on top of his.
Suddenly she felt his free hand squeeze her thigh. "Why do I feel blessed yet cursed with you as my wife?"
"What do you mean?"
He kissed the part of her chest exposed. "I'm addicted to you, you make me so happy. The curse is how hard it's for me to keep off of you."
Seulgi didn't know how anything happened. One moment she was sitting on his lap caressing his hair, the next she was grinding down on his lap, clothes half gone from both as they shared passionate kisses. Taeyong didn't let their kisses stop him from entering her, causing her to pull away and gasp at the sudden penetrance. She looked down at him, their eyes locked with each other and filled with lust, and started moving up and down this time. His hands grabbed her thighs tight as he groaned, moving himself to match her rhythm.
"This... is so-o... wrong..." her words came broken between pants. Taeyong held her jaw, pulling her face closer so their noses touched.
"There's nothing wrong with loving my wife whenever I want to." he said a little too firmly, sending shivers up her spine. "This is my office, no one's going to see, and I plan on keeping it like so." his eyes gaze across her opened front body, the hand holding her face now tracing down her skin until he grabbed her clothed breast gently, moving closer to kiss the exposed part.
"All this for my eyes only." he pulled down her bra as his mouth covered more, Seulgi moaning at the feeling of his lips touch her in sensitive areas. "All this beauty for me to ravish, all mine to touch and feel... You are a curse to me, that I can't hold back my urges every minute I see you."
She held his head closer to her chest, still moving up and down on him as she felt him deep inside her, a feeling that made her full both physically and emotionally. She rested her cheek on his head, her moans now softer, when she felt him pull down her bra more and doing the same things to her other breast. Suddenly his pace quickened, and Seulgi knew she was close to her release when he suddenly stood up carrying her, and laid her down on his desk after pushing aside whatever was there to make space.
Being able to see her better now, Taeyong was close too and he hooked her legs around his waist burying himself deeper with harder thrusts before leaning over her. He took both her hands and held the on either side of her head, staring intently at her face contorting with pleasure that they both knew only he gave her.
And nothing could feed this man's ego anymore than seeing his wife in this state because of him.
"Tae-"
"Almost baby... Say my name."
"Taeyong..."
He leaned in closer to her ear. "Who do you belong to?" his voice was suddenly so deep it shook her down to her core. "Who's the only man seeing you like this, making you the way you are? Who's the one filling you up with pleasure and love, the only one who gets to feel you inside and out?"
Her mind went blank. The last thing she remembered was moaning out his name out loud, before her eyes rolled back as she felt came. She didn't even realise when her husband came too inside her, but he noticed her exhausted dazed out expression and could only chuckle. He took a few seconds to compose himself before pulling out, pulling her up and back onto his lap as he sat back down on his seat, holding her to his chest like a child.
Seulgi was completely out of it, slowly processing everything as she felt Taeyong rub her back up and down under her shirt. Once it all sunk in she turned her head towards him and softly kissed his neck, which tickled him. He turned to her too, kissing her forehead. "Rest, we'll leave in an hour." He got up and walked to the sofas carrying her, lying down with her on top of him letting her catch her breath.
Seulgi thought about many things, mostly relevant to their relationship. She felt a hint of guilt for rejecting her husband's advances so many times because of other people, when all he wanted to do was show her how much he loved her. And she realised even at home she'd be swarmed with work to finish while he'd always take care of her, bringing her food or tea, or occasional shoulder massages.
"Taeyong..." she mumbled, feeling very relaxed from his fingers in her hair as he hummed in response. "I love you."
He chuckled lightly. "I love you too."
She got up, sat straddling on his waist while her hands her his. "No, I mean I really love you. I appreciate everything you do for me, and... I feel bad for treating you like that in front of others."
Taeyong quickly sat up and spoke before she could, cupping her cheeks in his hands. "Hey, I don't mind it. I know you're worried about your job, and trust me I love that you are. I love that you prioritised you're career so much, and you maintain all these rules for it. It makes you very down to earth, something I could never do myself without you making me." He saw her eyes dart down and pecked her lips to get her attention, smiling when she looked at him again.
"Do you know why I love you? Yes, I say that it's because you're sexy and beautiful, but do you know what makes you like so in my eyes? It's how nonchalant you are about my life & background, how you keep me in reality. The girls I've met before you, I'd loose interest the moment they notice how much I spend, or what so-called rich activities I've been doing, and start praising me about it. You my love, I can still remember the anger in your eyes when I took you to that expensive rooftop restaurant and paid for everything, and you refused to meet me anymore. That was when I realised how I've been too in the clouds with my life, and I came down to earth for you, and I've felt so good since. Not only did I get to realise my mistakes and fix myself as a person, I was able to get you back. You make me feel like I'm in the clouds, but for a whole different reason. I don't care that you don't let me hold your hand in public, because in the end of the day I'm the one who's arms you sleep in."
Seulgi always hated how good with words this man was, which was how he convinced her to get back with him after that restaurant incident. And she knew why. His real passion, writing. Lyrics to a song for her, poems about her, she saw it all when they were dating and knew she'd never get sick of it. Like right now, she held his cheeks, her thumb stroking against them as they smiled at each other.
"Thank you." she said softly as their lips closed in for another passionate kiss.
>>>
She heard the alarm, but that wasn't what woke Seulgi. It was the feeling of her husband's lips going up and down her shoulder and neck, an automatic smile forming on her lips as she turned to face him behind her. "Good morning." Taeyong whispered looking back at her. She turned around completely and snuggled closer to his chest. "As much as I love this right now, that was the second alarm. You're gonna be late baby."
Hearing that immediately sat up taking her phone, dashing off bed as she saw the time. Taeyong simply laid back chuckling at her, taking his phone to check through and relax.
But there was nothing relaxing about the first news popping up on his Instagram.
It was from the company's gossip page, something started by some random employees that his father and the higher ups found ridiculous but Taeyong thought it was pretty funny. But nothing about seeing a secret picture taken of hugging your wife in the break room was funny. He jolted up, pacing around the room frantically wondering how this all happened, and to only add on to his stress a video was posted of the couple in the parking lot. It was late when the two finally decided to go home, and figuring no one would be around, they held hands as they walked to his car, even kissing before they went in.
"SH*T!" he yelled, immediately calling up his assistant, the only person at work who knew. "Jungwoo find whoever posted those and take them down now! AND CLOSE THAT DAMN ACCOUNT!"
The man on the phone frantically agreed before Taeyong cut the call, just before Seulgi came out of the bathroom, towel around her as she finished showeing. "Why are you screaming?" she asked going into their closet, when he ran up and grabbed her from behind.
"Let's go out, today, now. On a date. Skip work, I'll make sure it doesn't affect you."
Seulgi stood in shock. "What's the matter with you?" she shook his hands off and proceeded to take out undergarments and her outfit for the day, when he grabbed her arm again and hugged her. "Taeyong, wha-"
"I'm sorry." he pulled away holding her close. "Just don't go to work today please. I don't want to see you hurt."
Seulgi was even more confused, but also very worried now hearing him. At that moment her phone dinged, and she walked away to check the message, her heart dropping at the multiple insults coming to her in her team's group chat.
I knew it, you wh*re
no wonder u get everything done
thought u slept with management, but ur a new level congrats
maybe thats why she dresses like that, i wudnt want ppl to see the marks left either
Before she could read more, Taeyong whipped her phone out of her hand and tossed it on the bed, pulling her in for another hug. This time she hugged back and he could feel the few tears on his bare chest, enough to break his heart. "I'm sorry baby, I've already asked Jungwoo to delete the posts, but for your safety don't go today. I'll go and get things straightened up."
They stayed like that a little longer, until Seulgi pulled out sniffling away the last tears. But with a smile at him. "Why do I have to hide? It's not like I've actually been sleeping around with a higher up to get where I am. You're my husband, I don't have anything to be ashamed of because of that. And, I just realised my worst fear isn't people finding out about this." she hugged him again, head against his chest as she closed her eyes listening to his heartbeat. "It's losing you. Losing what we have. No job could ever make me give it up."
Taeyong's arms wrapped around her tighter as he happily nuzzled his face into her hair. They stayed like that for longer until his phone rang, and he pulled out to answer it. "Yea Jungwoo?"
"Found the snoop, called them in for a meeting, oh and the posts and account have been taken down. Will she be coming to work? I can get guards to help keep the hustle down."
He looked at his wife, who was back in the closet getting ready, and smiled. "No need, I'll walk with her. Thanks." he cut the call, and finally started washing up himself and getting ready for work. He felt so happy finally being able to go to work together with her, driving as they shared their schedules, walking in with their hands held as they said goodbye, meeting again for lunch and after work. He only dreamed this day would come, and it finally did.
Not in a good way, but it still counts.
Just like he hoped, they did all that in the car on their way to work as he drove. He parked in front of the building and gave his keys to the guard to take the car down to the garage while they headed in through the main entrance, holding hands just like he wanted. Seulgi could feel eyes on them, but remained nonchalant about them as she greeted Jungwoo who ran up to the couple.
"You sure no guards? Or am I the only one feeling threatened here?"
She laughed while Taeyong shook his head, handing the younger man a briefcase. "Just take this up to my office, I'll come in a bit." Jungwoo nodded and left, and he turned back to his wife. "I'll see you during lunch," he leaned into her ear and whispered, "in my office madame."
Seulgi gasped and lightly smacked his arm, the eyes around them only getting more shocked at their public display of affection. "Shut it, its office hours, that's wrong." she scolded him lightly so only he could hear.
As always Taeyong smirked as he responded, "Nothing wrong with loving my wife, whenever and wherever." He kissed her cheek before heading off, Seulgi shaking her head with a sigh at his antics.
But she was happy. Despite all the looks of others coming at her, most of them now more surprised than disturbed, she was able to spend the day with one less thing to worry about. Despite the soft scoffs she heard from her co-workers, she smiled throughout the day.
Even after work, she felt relieved having Taeyong's arm around her waist as she tiredly trudged to his car, the eyes staring at them now noticing the rings on their fingers, realisation hitting them all.
"Wait, he's always worn that..."
"Right! How did we never think he'd be taken. Did she have it on too?"
"Yes, I've seen her put it on after washing her hands, she's very careful about it."
Taeyong smiled hearing all the murmurs, but he smiled more at the feeling of his wife next to him knowing there was absolutely nothing wrong with it anymore.

Paralysed
part 3 of Baby Fever
Kang Seulgi X Lee Taeyong
posting it here cuz @yutahoes liked the first, tho it's an old one so I'm not too confident🙂 also for the anon who requested more seulyong, here's a filler while i write a new one❤️
It still wasn't enough. They were still a little off from the total cost, but that didn't stop Taeyong. He let go of the part timers to save money, and worked around the café all by himself now.
Seulgi continued to work however she could. Knowing she didn't have much time, and that getting cured was only a chance, she tried spending less time at work and more time at home, especially helping out Taeyong and watching Serim. She dropped out of the daycare shift and stuck to just teaching.
Time went by, and Seulgi noticed her health getting slower. At one point she couldn't stand, since cancer was in her right leg, and Taeyong had to carry her around for a day. He pleaded her to quit her job, or at least take time off until she was cured, but Seulgi didn't listen. She didn't want him to work alone for her, and didn't allow him to buy a wheelchair either since it would cost more.
Waking up to another morning, Seulgi felt pain in her leg. But this time it was more than before, and she couldn't help grab it and cry silently. She looked to her side and saw Taeyong and Serim asleep, and decided to move away quietly to the living room. Through the pain she limped her way out if the door, when a pair of hands scooped her up and carried her back to bed.
"Stop moving." Taeyong instructed as he sat her up on bed. "Stop pushing yourself. Please, for me."
Seulgi could hear the sadness in his voice. It was as if he was going through this phase worse than her. He would stay up nights, stick by her side like glue, even when she showers he'll want to stay next to her scared something would happen. Seulgi looked at him and smiled sadly.
"I'm fine. I just wanted to walk off the pain a little."
"Please don't... Stop it just." he hung his head down and let out a few tears before looking back at her. "We've got enough, you can get the surgery. We'll go today."
"But what if it doesn't work... It's been too long, I've had it for too long. What if it's too far already?"
Taeyong brought both her hands to kid lips and kissed them few times in different places before pulling her into a hug. "It'll work. You'll get better somehow, I promise you will."
>>>
It had been five excruciating hours of just waiting and wandering around Seulgi's ward. Taeyong had her mother come and take care of Serim whilst he stayed with Seulgi in the hospital, glad that what they had saved so far was enough for the cancer to be removed.
But it wasn't enough for Seulgi.
"It's too complicated now. We can only leave it until... well, her time's up."
Taeyong fell to his knees and cried into Seulgi's lap on the bed, unable to believe he'd lose his wife. Seulgi threaded her hand through his hair, tears flowing out silently. She looked back up at the doctor with pleading eyes.
"Isn't there anything else?"
"Well... We could give you an artificial leg, but a lot of people don't like that. And it costs more."
"How much?" Seulgi asked quietly.
"------- won." (IDK how much, so bear with me for now)
"We'll take it!" Taeyong suddenly declared getting back up. "Give us that, we can afford it. And make sure it's the best you can do."
Seulgi was shocked and waited for the doctor to leave before lashing out at him. "Are you crazy!?! We don't have that much money!!! Get a hold of yourself Lee Taeyong!!"
Taeyong motioned the doctor to leave and to get things started. Once she left, he sat closer to Seulgi and grabbed her hands. "Baby, I can do it. Just please, don't lose hope. I can get it for you. Don't worry."
"But... I'll have a fake leg for the rest of my life T-"
"I don't care." he cried out suddenly. "Seulgi, I don't care if you have a fake leg, arm, kidney. I don't care if I have to carry you around for the rest of our lives. I don't even care if you can't have kids anymore! I just want you to be next to me until death. I can't live on knowing you're not there when I wake up. Like I've said before, I can sell everything I have for you, because I can work harder to get them back. But losing you... No amount of hard work or money will bring you back."
Seulgi bit her bottom lip, moving forward closer to him. Taeyong pulled her in and hugged her, crying into her shoulder as he felt her fingers comb his hair. He kissed her shoulder and neck, everywhere he could access, hugging her tighter and tighter.
"I love you Seulgi. You know I do. You know I'll do anything for you. So please, just for me, live on. Don't you want me happy?"
Seulgi pushed him out and cupped his face, and pecked his lips softly. "Of course. I want you happy. I know how much you love me. I love you too, so much. I just want you happy, I don't want you to suffer, especially because of me. It hurts me."
"I'm suffering at the thought of losing you... Nothing else is bad enough to make me suffer, but just the thought that you won't be around kills me."
She agreed to do it, and now was hour six. Taeyong sat on the couch, unable to eat or even sleep from anxiety. He just waited for some sort of news, anything at all. The door slid open, and he stood up in a flash, slightly dissapointed to see it was just his mother in law carrying Serim.
"She's not out ye-"
"Stop Taeyong." the elder woman cut him off. She came closer and pushed Serim into his arms. "You need to stop this. You're behaving strange, to the point it's worrying my husband even. You need to stop fantasising."
"What do you mean?"
His mother in law sighed defeated. "Taeyong, when Seulgi was diagnosed with this, we knew we couldn't afford it. Everyday we woke up, ready to hear her death, because all we could do was slow down the process with medication, but we could never stop it. Now imagine it... I had to think about it every second of my life, that I'm going to lose my only daughter any time. But I was prepared, and so was she. Why do you think she's such a strong girl, doing whatever she loved? Because she knew she wouldn't live long, so we made sure she could achieve all her dreams somehow. We lived knowing she'd be gone any second, and as much as it hurt me seeing my own child suffer, I've stayed strong."
Taeyong listened intently, when Serim suddenly started tugging his collar for attention. He looked at her and she smiled at her father, grabbing his nose playfully.
"Look at you." Seulgi's mother spoke. "You made me leave with Serim while you're waiting for Seulgi to get cured. You're pushing away even your child now just for Seulgi to survive. You've lost it. You need to learn how to accept things. I'm more than grateful for you coming into Seulgi's life, and even doing everything you could to save her. I can't express it enough how thankful I am. But I don't like how you've been behaving, because not only is it unhealthy for you, but for your family. Just look, you even pushed Serim away, aside from your café which you worked so hard to put together."
"I can work to get the café status back, but I can't work to get Seulgi back can I?"
"No, but if she hadn't survived, you could've worked to make her happy. If you had lost the café, but have Seulgi and Serim to take care of, your life would've been hard, and she'd be upset about that more."
>>>
"How do you feel Ms?"
Seulgi looked at her legs. It was odd, feeling only one limb instead of two, but it was better this way. She didn't like what Taeyong decided, but thinking about it he was right. She couldn't bear to leave behind the two of them now. Not anymore. So, she did what the next best option could have been.
"Well... Are you still sure about not having the prosthetic one? Your husband paid for it, so we could still get it done, an-"
"No, I'm fine."
The doctor nodded, jotting down on his clipboard. "Well, then we'll return whatever money wasn't required. And if all's well, you can go home tomorrow."
Seulgi smiled nodding as the nurses helped push her out, taking her back to her room. Upon entering, she was surprised to hear Serim giggle as Taeyong sat with her next to the window. He paused all movement as he seemed to have been telling the baby a story by pointing at things outside.
"Oh... When did you get here baby?" Seulgi squealed as Serim looked at her. Seeing her mother the baby smiled back and giggled.
"Mma mma!" she called outing her arms out, motioning Taeyong to take her to her mother. Taeyong stood with her in his arm as the nurse pushed Seulgi to her bed, and helped her back on.
And that's when Taeyong realised something.
"Where's the prosthetic leg?"
Seulgi and the nurse exchanged glances, and she motioned her to leave. Once the nurse was gone, she patted on the empty space next to her for him to sit. Taeyong sat and placed Serim between them, who started playing around with her mother.
"Seulgi..." Taeyong called once, wanting to know what happened. "Was it not enough? Do I need more money?"
"No honey. You did well. I just..." she looked at Serim and sighed. "I didn't want to live with a prosthetic leg. I was uncomfortable. I wanted to tell you Taeyong, that you should learn to let go..."
Taeyong looked away, tears evident in his eyes. Seulgi quickly grabbed his hand, forcing him to turn to her. "But, I couldn't think to leave you two. I realised you were right, leaving the two of you would have killed me. So, I decided to live... with a paralysed leg."
Taeyong's eyes went straight to her right leg, and he saw how it didn't seem to have any feeling in it. His hands slowly crept onto her calf, and ran across her leg up and down. He looked back at Seulgi, who smiled sadly.
"Just from below my knee. Since it was bone marrow, it spread across the bone only, so... The treatment would leave me paralysed. It's halfway of the prosthetic treatment."
>>>
Although he was as upset at first, Taeyong didn't care. He was happy Seulgi was back. She quit her job at the preschool, and spent time with Serim at the café. She would help around the kitchen in the café, which helped them add on a breakfast menu as well.
With both of them, work at the café was getting done easier and faster since no hired help was needed.
After another day of work, Taeyong closed up everything and headed to the stairs to see Seulgi holding Serim in her arms, on her wheelchair. He smiled seeing his wife and daughter having weird conversations, as it turned out Serim was a very curious child at the age of two years.
"Momma, can Serim draw?"
"Of course baby. Why do you want to draw."
"Momma draw, appa draw, so Serim wants to draw!"
Taeyong chuckled, remembering how he was sketching Seulgi one day with Serim on his lap. He watched Seulgi chuckle and kiss the child before letting her down, and they watched her climb the stairs on all fours. Taeyong then moved closer to Seulgi and slowly picked her up bridal style, her arms hooked around his neck, and he started going up the stairs.
"You know, you don't always have to carry me." she suddenly spoke softly. "I still have one good leg, so I can just go up-"
"Nope." he cut her off. "I like carrying you. And I want Serim to see this so that she knows her parents love each other."
Seulgi chuckled and pecked his cheek. She didn't mind it anymore. Living on budgets, living with one leg, nothing bothered her now, knowing her future was full of love and happiness.
All she could ask for was Taeyong and Serim to be next to her everyday of her life.

Worth It
Lee Taeyong X Kang Seulgi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

For a struggling student, any job seemed worth while, anything to make a little extra cash. Seulgi had already crossed out the impossible, and while waitressing seemed like a good choice, her friends found her something paying much much more.
"But there's no job description?"
"But, it's at this big company." her friend pointed out. "It wouldn't hurt to check out what the job is. It even says no professional experience required."
Seulgi had an idea of what this job might be, sugar baby. But with her friend's persuasion she decided to go check out anyways, simply to cut this out of her list too. She dressed in a black blouse and pants, wedged heels and hair down. If she was going to reject something, might as well look decent doing so.
Reaching the building, she sighed as she walked in and asked over the desk about the job. "Oh, it's still open. Just take that elevator up to level twenty, then turn right and you'll see a wooden door. I'll call up to their desk and let them know you're going."
Thanking the lady, Seulgi made her way up following the exact directions given. She checked herself on the elevator walls one last time before heading for the said wooden door. Her question of why the lady specified the door was answered when she realised it was the only wooden door, giving it a more executive, classy look.
She approached the assistant desk outside. "Oh, you must be here for the job. Just fill these out and wait here, you will be called in shortly." the lady smiled handing her a clipboard and pen. Seulgi bowed and sat at a seating area to fill out the form, though the questions raised her suspicion about the job.
Name: Kang Seulgi
DOB/Age: 10/2/1994, 25
Occupational Status: Unemployed, Management Student
Relationship Status: Single
Favourite Colour: Yellow
This is weird... Seulgi thought as she continued filling in the form.
Salary Acceptance Cash/Credit: Cash
How long are you willing to work?: As long as needed
Is your schedule flexible?: Yes
Are you OK with publicity?: Somewhat
Blinking in confusion, she finished up anyways and handed the clipboard back to the lady, who immediately went into the room with it. She sat back on the bench and waited for few more minutes, when the door opened again and the lady stepped out.
"You may come in."
Taking a deep breath as she entered the office, she was met by a man behind the desk who motioned her to take a seat opposite to him. Seulgi had her mind straight, and spoke the moment she faced him.
"Listen, before you ask anything, just know I'm only here because of my friend. I already know this job is going to be sugar babying, and I honestly don't want that, so you can just reject me now."
The man looked up cocking an eyebrow, and she finally took the time to actually look at him.
Damn...
"Well Ms..." he looked at the clipboard, "Ms Kang, as much as I admire you're straight forwardness, that's not exactly the job."
"Oh..." her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "I'm sorry, it's just, the description was weird... And the forms..."
The man chuckled, waving his hand up to stop her. "I guess it does seem like that, but it's not. Let me do some backstory, I'm Lee Taeyong, my grandfather started this company and my dad currently runs it. I'll probably take over in the next ten years or so, but for now I'm responsible for public affairs, meaning I have to attend many executive events in place of my father. Now I usually go alone, but it feels out of place."
Seulgi listened intently, wondering where this backstory was going or what it even had to do with the job.
"The job is simple, accompany me to these events."
>>>
When Taeyong meant simple, he really meant it. Three months in and Seulgi had made so much money, all she had to do was dress up, look pretty by his side, eat, then go home. Although, the only thing not simple was how there were events every two weeks.
She found it crazy how these executives would hold stupidly expensive events every two weeks just to eat and talk about who knows what, sometimes charity sometimes collaborations, then drink and talk some more.
"Like seriously, are these things necessary?" she grunted as she took a bite of her ramen. Taeyong chuckled shaking his head, but agreed with her.
"I never understood it myself, but that's my life I guess. Just do whatever you're told and keep it going."
Taeyong took the courtesy of taking her out for lunch the day after every event whenever he could, before dropping her back at her apartment. She first suggested to go back straight, but realised how tiring it was after the first event, so sometimes stayed over at his house and go back the next day.
"Don't you have a say? I mean, you could at least suggest them to not make it so grand. What's the point spending all that money on charity events instead of actually using it for charity?"
He pursed his lips, shrugging. "Even if I took over now, who'd listen to someone in their twenties over fifty year olds."
Seulgi scrunched her face hearing that. "That's sad. Why are you even wasting time with these things? You're my age, you've got the money, you should be living your life. Go out, travel, get a girlfriend, party for real."
Her persistence could only make him laugh, he knew it wasn't as easy as that. "It's a business thing. I mean, life is balanced out right? I've got money but no freedom, you've got freedom but no money."
Seulgi sighed shaking her head. "Well, when I do start making my own money, I'm gonna live with freedom."
They soon headed to her place, and Seulgi figured to invite him inside for coffee. Not only is he paying her for doing this bare minimum job, but he also pays for the lunches the day after, not to mention getting her hair and makeup done, and of course the dresses she wore.
He basically spent more than he should on her.
Not wanting to insult her, Taeyong accepted the invite and they headed in. "Wow, it's small..." he blurted out before realising how it sounded, and quickly turned to her. "I meant like, in a comforting way. It's like, cozy you know..."
Seulgi chuckled, shrugging it off. "It's alright, I know what you mean. I do wish for a nicer place sometimes, but I like the size of this." she hung her bag on the hooks behind the door and ushered him to the living/dining area. "Make yourself at home, I'll just get the coffee ready."
They soon sat together and talked more over coffee, not realising how late it had gotten. Taeyong got up ready to leave, and suddenly Seulgi felt empty inside.
As he wore his shoes, Taeyong spoke "I really enjoyed spending time with you." he smiled, which she returned.
"Same here. We should hangout more often, outside of work times... If that's OK?"
Taeyong nodded shyly. He in fact was enjoying her presence a little too much, as he realised when he got back to his family's penthouse apartment. He sat in his room alone thinking just how fun her life must've been, even as a broke university student.
Seulgi was on the roof of her apartment, where she'd always sit to keep her mind off her studies, but she couldn't help think of Taeyong. Unlike him though, she was a much more realistic person. She knew there was only ever a 10% chance she'd ever end up with him, and within that only 50% that she'd still be able to live her own life.
He was obviously a chaebol. And despite not acting like one, his future was clear, so Seulgi brushed off any thoughts of having even the slightest crush on him.
But it was hard not to think about him, with all the dresses he gave her for the events hanging in her closet, even the accessories on her vanity table. She tried to give them back, but he simply asked her to keep them for future use.
>>>
This was something Taeyong had warned her about, yet Seulgi wasn't prepared when the messages from her friends and parents started pouring in, most forwarding the same article to her.
The Lee's bachelor son spotted with the same woman at multiple events, could this be the new upcoming Mrs Lee?
She rubbed her forehead, as if it would help rid off the headache, before closing her phone and throwing it aside after a conversation with her parents. She didn't know how to tell them she was just doing this for money, without it making her sound desperate.
She could say he's just a friend who takes her to these events as a plus one, but who'd believe her. Everyone knew two people like themselves wouldn't be friends for no reason, and dig into how they met.
Another call came, but this time she answered seeing the name. "Look, I'm kind of not in the mood, so unless its important-"
"I know." Taeyong cut her off. "And I'm sorry. I did say this would happen, but I still shouldn't have allowed it to become like this. My parents are killing me with questions..." she heard him sigh tiredly. "I don't want to put pressure on you, so if you want to quit just say so. Don't worry about media, I'll come up with an excuse."
She knew it was the easy way out, but Seulgi felt bad making him go through all this hassle. It may have been on him, but he did so much for her besides the fact that he was paying her already, she felt this would be the time she can return the favour.
"Maybe I can help? It's not entirely your own story right?"
"I don't want you going through this Seulgi. You don't know what it's like."
This was the first time she heard Taeyong sound dead serious, and knew there was no way to budge him. He didn't sound one bit content with her offering to help, but she was persistent.
"Will your parents approve?" silence over the phone, she knew he was confused.
"Approve what?"
"Say you're going out with me, is that OK with them?"
"Definitely not." he sounded dejected saying so.
"Well then, why don't you just introduce me to them first, and when they reject I'll leave. Then you have the story that we were hanging out but stopped because of family."
She knew it sounded stupid, like something to happen in every K-drama ever about rich people, but it was a good shot. After another few minutes of silence, Taeyong answered.
"It's worth a shot. Come over tomorrow afternoon to my office, I'll bring them."
As always Seulgi dressed nicely to leave a good impression at least. She wore a laced blouse with loose pants, left her hair down and put on a bit if makeup, and finally some nice shoes. She reached the building and immediately went up to Taeyong's office, wanting to avoid anyone seeing her and asking questions.
As she reached the floor, she texted him and stepped out the elevator to see him waiting outside his office. They smiled at each other, before he suddenly hugged her.
"I'm sorry for all this, and thank you for helping me resolve it." he sighed. She could feel his quickened heartbeat when she hugged him back, but ignored it as they pulled out. "My parents are inside, they're a bit judgemental, so please don't take anything mean they say to heart."
Seulgi chuckled and rubbed his arm. "It's OK, I'll probably never see them after this anyways, so I couldn't care less what they say. Makes it easier for me to leave too."
Taeyong smiled, but she noticed the look in his eyes held a different emotion. "I hope we can still be in contact after though... It sounds stupid, but I really enjoyed having you around. I don't have many friends, none if you don't count the kids I grew up with within my parents circle, it was nice to finally have someone to talk to."
Her heart hurt hearing him out, and she went in for another hug. "Visit me anytime, we can always be friends."
They finally went into his office, and she didn't miss the disapproving looks on both his parent's faces. She stood in front of them and introduced herself as politely as she could.
"Hello, I'm Kang Seulgi."
"Sit." Taeyong's mother said spitefully. Seulgi complied with no hesitation, wanting to get it done with fast, and Taeyong sat next to her. "What do you want from our son?"
"What does he have to offer me?"
The elder lady scoffed before glaring at her. "I know cheap girls when I see one. If you don't leave him, we'll have you kicked out from wherever you work."
"Mum!" Taeyong interjected, surprising everyone with his sudden anger. "Stop talking down to people! If anything she should be working in my place, she's got an actual degree, you have no idea how smart she is! She works hard for what she gets, you ought to have more respect for her than for your friends using their husband's money for new bags every month."
Seulgi pursed her lips, quickly grabbing his arm and pulling him back in his seat and stared at him with angry eyes. Taeyong took a breath and sat properly, looking back at his parents who seemed even more angered by his sudden lash out.
Seulgi shook her head and turned to them as well. "If you want me to leave, I'll do it. I don't want things between us ruining his life and career." she stood up and bowed. "I won't disturb you any longer, good bye."
With that Seulgi left the room, noting to herself to never again look back at this life of hers. Taeyong however as in silence staring down at his feet, hoping she would keep the promise of their friendship.
>>>
It wasn't until weeks later, while lounging in his room, Taeyong received a call. Looking at the ID he scoffed in ridicule at how long it had been since she decided to actually talk at all.
After a few rings he finally decided to answer. "Yes?" he answered coldly, until hearing heavy breaths on the other side. His heart immediately softened. "Seulgi? Is something wrong? Hello?"
"Taeyong... Can you, please, pick me up... Please..."
"Keep talking to me, I'm coming." he answered, running around grabbing his wallet, keys and a jacket before leaving the house and going down to his car. "Where are you?"
"Bar, in Itaewon... The one next to the mall..."
He knew which one and was only shocked that she even went there. He's been there because he could afford it, so how did she get in? He drove fast and took only fifteen minutes to reach, but he didn't have to go in to find her seeing a crouched body on the steps of the entrance. The closer he came to her, the more he noticed her dishevelled state, front hair dripping and the front of her white blouse wet.
He in front of her and held her shoulders, noticing tears in her eyes. "What happened to you?"
Seulgi slowly looked up, eyes and nose red from crying. "I... I took a job here."
"Why in earth wou-"
"It's the only kind of work flexible around my schedule now." she cut him off. "But people are so cruel." she cried, and he quickly pulled her into his chest hugging her.
"Let's go, you don't belong here Seulgi. You deserve better."
The ride back to his place was quiet, but in a sort of comforting way. Seulgi was just glad to be out of that area after all the days she's worked there. She looked up noticing they arrived at his place instead of hers, but didn't say a thing.
They went up and he unlocked the door. "You know your room. There's towels in the bathroom, you can take a shower, I'll leave some extra clothes on the bed."
She nodded in response, and after leaving an extra hoodie and shorts of his own for her, Taeyong went to bed right away. He figured she'd want to be alone and fall asleep fast anyways considering she must've been very tired. It wasn't until past midnight when he came out to drink water, he heard soft whimpers from the guestroom. Worried, he went over but didn't go in and instead peeked through the open crack.
Seulgi sat in bed hugging her knees, her breathing heavy and hands clutching the blanket. Unable to hold back he knocked before entering, sitting at the foot of the bed.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
She looked up slowly, shaking her head. "Just a nightmare... About tonight..." He went closer and sat right next to her, pulling her into his chest while his fingers combed through her hair. "I'm sorry I called you. I didn't know who else to reach..."
"Why didn't you call sooner?" his question surprised her. "You promised we would stay friends, but you didn't contact me since that day..."
Seulgi had an answer, but she couldn't bring herself to say it knowing it would only drag them both into deeper mess. Gently she pushed him away and looked up at his eyes.
The ones she missed so much.
"I got busy. I forgot... Sorry."
"Liar." the only thing that came out of his mouth before Taeyong decided to get up and leave. Seulgi waited until his bedroom door closed before letting out a choked sigh, sadness filling her up. She got up as well, changed back to her clothes, and left silently.
But not before she noticed a notepad on the key table beside the door.
>>>
7 years later
One year since he took over as chairperson of the company, but Taeyong was already so well prepared that his retired parents were shocked by his progress, especially with all the sudden changes he made which they almost disapproved. As it turned out he spent most of his time preparing for it all in advance, spending every second in cooped up in either his office or apartment working than going out at all. Other than the occasional festivities, Taeyong completely isolated himself from any social and family events.
Another day of work, he sat in the car as his assistant went through his schedule for the day. "Oh and you'll also be meeting the new head of marketing. She's completely new to the company, she's transferring from another place."
"Why are we giving this person a high position already?" he asked without looking, eyes dazed at the landscape outside as they returned from another meeting.
"Well she almost became the head of marketing at her previous job, but for some reason decided to move here. Mr Jeong was supposed to take over the position so he already evaluated her. Apparently she's far more experienced than him so he gave up the position to her and will remain as their secretary."
Taeyong simply nodded as they soon reached the building, and after a quick lunch break headed to the meeting room to meet their new marketing manager. Entering he saw her from behind as she faced the secretary talking to her.
"Alright Jaehyun, you can go." the younger man nodded and bowed as he left, Taeyong coming in to take his seat with his eyes on the file of the new woman's profile. "So Ms..." he drifted off as he finally read out her name, his eyes widening as they scanned the rest of the page. He quickly looked up, the file dropping from his hands when he finally saw the woman, who smiled softly at him.
Clearing his throat he picked up the file and continued. "Ms Kang... what brings you to work with us? You were about to be promoted to a higher position at your previous employment, but you decided to take it here instead. How come?"
"This company has a special meaning to me, and I wanted to come back only when I feel like I was worthy of it..."
Taeyong looked back up at her, and noticed her glistening eyes. He processed her words, suddenly realising what they hinted towards.
The little paper on his shoes from seven years ago.
Don't hold yourself back for something not worth your time and attention. Keep going and fight every obstacle, I know you'll achieve greatness some day. And when you do I'll be there, hopefully worth your hugs again. - K.S.
He couldn't help tear up, and got up in a haste going towards her, pulling her up as well and crushing her in a tight hug. "Nothing is worth more my time than you." he sniffled digging his face into her hair, happiness filling his heart when he felt her arms around his neck hugging her back.
Happiness he hasn't felt in the past seven years.
"I'm so proud of you." she whispered into his ear. "I loved you, I still do. But I didn't want to be an obstacle in your life here... I'm sorry I left like that, but I wanted to be someone worth of your position."
"No." he pulled out of the hug and cupped her cheeks, their eyes locked in sad but sweet happiness. "You were the best I had, I meant everything back then, having you around at least as a friend was even good for me because I loved having you around, and I feel stupid for not realising sooner it was because I loved you too."
Unable to hold back, Taeyong pulled her close as he kissed her, and Seulgi was obviously one to respond. His hands went down to her waist and hugged her tight again as they kissed passionately, taking quick breaths before going for it again. In a minute Taeyong pulled away and instead trailed kisses from her lips to her cheek, down to her neck, wanting to shower her with as much affection possible.
But it would be hard to do in such a public setting, and he realised that soon as he quickly texted his assistant that he's taking off for the day and heading home, Seulgi's hand tightly held in his own even as they entered his apartment. The moment their shoes were off their lips were back together as he slowly walked them to his room, sitting on his bed with her on his lap.
"Marry me." he whispered between kisses, to which she nodded breathless as he kissed down her neck again, this time leaving love bites where she responded the most.
Seulgi was the first to wake up after their passionate night of love making. She couldn't move though, her body not only sore but also trapped by the arms of the man she's suddenly engaged to, his chest stuck to her back while their legs were entangled under his duvet.
She held the hand around her waist, bringing it to her lips to kiss it before playing with his fingers. She felt him shift, only to move closer to her causing her to chuckle as he hummed into her hair. Slowly she turned in his hold towards him, which she figured he realised because he snuggled his face in her chest now, her fingers playing with his hair while her free hand stroked his cheek.
She felt his hold tighten even more. "What's up with you?" she asked chuckling, getting a groan in response and a kiss in her chest.
"Don't run away again. Ever." she felt terrible hearing his answer and hugged him tighter to herself.
"I won't baby. I'll never leave."
"You were always worth it." he continued, "My attention, time, love, money, anything I gave you. You deserved it before and you still do now. Even if you asked for the company I'd give you, because you're worth so much more than I could have. Just never leave me again, please..."
She didn't. She never will, they both knew that was impossible as they sealed their marriage with a kiss, both all smiles and happy as the few people they invited cheered for them. Seulgi took notice of her now in-laws and could only chuckle at their embarrassed faces as they too clapped for the sake of it. As her husband promised, not them or anyone for that matter could ever question her worth.
She was worth everything he had and more, and he swore to make it that way forever.

Rose
Seulgi X Taeyong
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bonus part for You Are My Queen in celebration of SeulYong's duet Rose🌹
Seulgi loved to walk through the castle rose garden. It was her favourite out of the others in the castle, she would just sit around and admire the different coloured roses planted by Taeyong's mother, sometimes even pick out some to decorate their bedroom.
This was one thing she noticed was different between her and her King husband when they first met. During the time they'd spent together, before Taeyong had confessed that is, she'd walk him through the gardens and talk about the flowers to help distract his mind. Though now she realised he never actually listened to whatever she said, he was only distracted thanks to her voice, another thing that had attracted him to her.
And now after a year since their wedding, he still had no interest in the flowers. He'd only smile seeing her happily decorate roses around their bedroom, and only used them for their petals when he wanted to have a romantic night with her (bath or bed didn't matter).
They sat in the garden, Seulgi sitting against a tree reading a book while Taeyong laid his head on her lap relaxed, eyes closed while he listened to his wife's soothing humm, a habit she had when reading in full concentration. It was practically a scene taken from a fairytale, just so calm and peaceful, unrealistic for a King to be able to live in.
"Can we name our baby Jangmi?"
Taeyong's eyes opened in a split second and he immediately turned his head to look at her tummy. Seulgi laughed hard at his sudden reaction and hit his arm lightly. "I'm not pregnant yet. I mean in the future, I want to name our baby girl Jangmi."
Taeyong sighed and laid back relaxed, his heart beat slowly going down to normal. "Well that was a little disappointing, I thought you really were and got excited." he pouted before looking at his wife, who was clearly waiting for an answer. He smiled and took her free hand, laying kisses on the back. "I'll love whatever name you give our children. It's your choice entirely, as long as it's not some odd name. Then I should have veto power." the two chuckled before he closed his eyes again, laying her hand over them as extra shade.
Seulgi closed up her book and set it aside, and leaned against the tree relaxing herself as she took in the view of the roses around them. "They're so beautiful..." she mumbled softly, her free hand combing through her husband's hair. Taeyong heard her soft words, an idea coming to his mind immediately as he hid his smirk.
I'll do anything for you my love...
Tumblr media
It took only a week and half to finish up the planning. He was the King after all, and even though he never took advantage of his power for selfish uses, Taeyong would have the whole kingdom on their toes if it came to Seulgi. She came first before anything, even if it meant letting go of his position (which she'd never let him do) he'd do it.
And this time the people were shocked to hear the odd request from the King.
"You all have 10 days to prepare a ball, it must be rose themed."
The news spread and immediately everyone was rushing. Taeyong wasn't cruel though, he wouldn't have done such a request if roses were hard to find or not in bloom this season. But they were which made it a lot easier for the people to work and get things done quickly. Seulgi had no clue, and in the afternoon of the day of the event Sooyoung had suddenly appeared with a dress for her.
"But what's the occasion? Why are you making me wear this?"
"Just trust me. We have five hours to get ready, so eat first then we'll start on the hair and makeup for you. Ladies!"
Three maids appeared, one with the two friends lunch, one with a bag of necessities to help get ready, and the other holding the dress Sooyoung brought. They first ate, then got to work right away in getting Seulgi done up perfectly, and after couple of hours they finished it off with a rose headpiece.
"Great! Move along now, and tell the King we're ready and will be down in a bit." Sooyoung instructed and the maids left after bowing.
"Well," Sooyoung turned to see Seulgi standing with her hand on her hips, "will you tell me now what I'm doing like this?" the Queen asked, Sooyoung simply chuckling to herself.
"Just trust me, your highness." she mocked making Seulgi scoff.
They were soon heading down, and Seulgi noticed them going towards the ballroom. It was quiet throughout the hallway that they walked, until they reached the doors of the ballroom and she could hear soft voices murmuring. Turning around she suddenly noticed Sooyoung was no longer with her, raising her confusion even more until she heard the royal announcer's voice loud and clear from the other side of the door.
"Her highness Queen Seulgi has arrived!"
She turned back to the doors as they slowly opened, and could not believe what came before her. Roses. Everywhere. They decorated the upper railings of the ballroom, the other doors around, bouquets at every corner, even on the chandelier. Still processing the sight, she felt a finger push her chin, closing her mouth.
"You'll catch flies love." she heard her husband chuckle as his hands wrapped around her waist from behind, head on her shoulder. "Do you love it?" Taeyong whispered, and only then did she realise there were people in the ballroom too, everyone dressed in colourful rose themed outfits. She peeked behind at him and noticed they were the only ones in red, while other couples matched their own colours too.
Seulgi was in awe. Sure she's seen many roses in the gardens, but this was completely new to her. Pushing his arms off, she turned around and stared at her husband with gleaming eyes. "What's going on?"
Taeyong could only chuckle at her innocence, another one of her attractions he loved. He took her hands and kissed them before putting them on his shoulders as his returned to her her waist.
"I wanted to give you a party. Besides," he leaned into her ear, "it's your birthday."
Seulgi's eyes widened, her hands flying to her mouth as she gasped. She completely forgot her own birthday, and it didn't even occur to her once when she was suspicious of Sooyoung's antics earlier.
Taeyong laughed. "You forgot!" And it was clearly loud enough for the rest of their guests to hear and laugh along. Embarrassed she hit his chest, but he simply grabbed her hands and pulled her into a kiss. Seulgi obviously kissed back, she could never not. They heard some cheers from her friends, pulling away much later. "That was my second gift." he whispered pecking her lips once more.
"How many are there?" Seulgi asked cocking her head.
"Never enough to show how much I love you."
Tumblr media
The party began, first with dinner for everyone. Taeyong had invited just his family, her's and their friends, not wanting to make it seem too impersonal. As they finished eating, the cake was brought in, and Seulgi seeing the rose decorations used. But she became soft hearted as the chef announced that it was actually Taeyong himself who made the cake from scratch and looked at him with teary eyes.
Taeyong chuckled again and wiped off a year before it could trail down her cheek. "Now is not the day to cry my queen. Go cut the cake, and we'll dance after."
They did exactly what he said. Soft music played as the chef took the cake away after Seulgi blew the candles and cut a slice. He'd bring it back later for dessert anyways. Servants cleared out space, and all the couples were soon out ballroom dancing.
The royal couple were in the center, Seulgi's hands wrapped around Taeyong's neck while his wrapped around her waist holding her close possessively, a cute manner of his she'd never find a disturbance. The two could only smile as they moved around with small steps, wanting to savour every moment of the night. Seulgi felt so happy, and not just because of the party, but for having Taeyong in her life as here husband. Sure being King and Queen had a toll on her especially since she was never born into this life, but she'd never regret this, she wouldn't want it any other way.
"I have one more surprise for you." Taeyong whispered causing her to chuckle.
"What?"
"You'll see, it'll take a while, but it'll be yours completely."
Seulgi sighed and shook her head as a joke, suddenly leaning her head against his chest as they kept dancing smoothly. "What will I do with you?"
Taeyong laughed and held her tighter. "You'll never stop me from showering you with love. And I give you no permission to leave me, ever."
A smiled fell on Seulgi's lips as she remembered something she hoped he'd love. He would, she had no doubt, but she didn't know when would have been the right time to let him know.
Now seemed like the perfect opportunity.
She pulled out from his chest and looked at him, their eyes locked as she smiled shyly. "How can I leave the father of my child?"
They stopped dancing, Taeyong's legs coming to a halt as she felt his body freeze, eyes wide in shock. "You... Didn't you say you we- weren't?" he stuttered.
"Well yes, I didn't know I was back then. But it turns out I am... I found out yesterday."
There was silence, except for the soft orchestra music and the feet of others dancing, the couple stared at each other quietly. And for once Seulgi couldn't read through her husband.
"Yo- You're pregnant?"
She nodded.
"YOU'RE PREGNANT!" Seulgi felt herself lifted off the ground, hands clutching Taeyong's shoulders tight scared. "I'M GOING TO BE A FATHER!" he screamed as he spun her around in air.
Seulgi was right, he was happy. Beyond happy. Taeyong had wanted a child for weeks now, but he could never being it up her because he felt like he was sticking another burden onto her. He always felt guilty for making her become a Queen when she had no plans to, and despite their love, he knew she didn't want this life. That's why he promised himself to give her everything he has to offer, and never push her into anything he wants that would require her to work on.
That included a baby. He knew it would take a toll on her health and lifestyle to be pregnant and become a mother, he knew he won't always be around with how busy his life is, so he told himself to wait how ever long it took for her to want a baby.
Of course with his screaming all the attention now fell on them, cheers erupting as the crowd made out what Taeyong was so ecstatic about. He finally placed his wife down and held her to help her balance as she wobbled a bit, still in shock from his sudden outburst. He grabbed her shoulder and pulled her in, kissing her passionately.
Seulgi was still a bit shaken from being in air, but smiled through the kiss as she did so back, her hands making way around his torso and hugging him.
They pulled away, not caring about the questions thrown at them as they existed in their own little bubble, just the two of them all smiles as they looked at each other with gazes dripping with honey.
"I love you so much." Taeyong said kissing her again, pulling away quicker. "I love you so much it might kill me." he kissed her again, between each of his sentences. "My queen. My love. My angel. And now the mother of my child. God, how can you make me love you any more than I already do."
They returned back to their room quicker than he had planned, but Taeyong didn't care for the party anymore. He wanted to be with his pregnant wife in their own little world, even ordering the servants to stay out of their room until the next day.
The moment Seulgi started taking off her clothes, Taeyong quickly ran into the bathroom and started preparing the bath, adding in rose petals and bubbles. He went out in time to see her taking off her makeup, smiling as he walked up behind her and hugged her naked body, laying kisses on her shoulder.
"Let's bathe." he whispered, hands now massaging her tummy. "We should do it with Jangmi too."
Seulgi turned her head to look at him, chuckling softly. "Jangmi?"
"Isn't that what you wanted to name our baby?"
"Well yes, but what if it's a boy?"
"It's a girl, I know it is."
Turning around completely she circled her hands around his neck, her face unreadable. "But wouldn't you want a son? To continue as heir?"
Taeyong sighed, he hated that question and mindset. He picked her up in his arms and simply walked into the bathtub carrying her until they were seated against one side. She straddled his lap while his fingers traced down her back, both staring into space.
"I wouldn't care less if it's a girl. Honestly I'd like a daughter more. Besides there's nothing wrong with her becoming the next heir if that's what you're worried about."
Seulgi smiled, leaning her head against his chest as she visioned herself with their child, a little girl, running through the garden. She was chasing behind her as they played tag, and for a second she was missing, only to reappear with Taeyong from behind a tree. She smiled in pure joy, her heart filled with love and happiness of their little family.
"Jangmi will have the best life ever, you're going to be her father after all."
"And you her mother." Taeyong smiled staring up at the ceiling, having similar imaginations as his wife. "God, I can't wait. I want to hold her already."
Of course he didn't hold back. From the fifth month he had an extra room next to theirs changed completely for the baby, which turned out to be a girl after all. And he kept the theme to her name, with a rose themed chandelier, rose vine wallpapers, her furniture being a white which he then had painters come and paint rose patterns over them. As per Seulgi's request, he kept the colour pink.
And once little Jangmi was born, he had the maid do Seulgi's usual task of bringing roses from the garden to decorate their room.
"What's the significance of roses?" he finally asked one day. The couple laid in bed, three month old Jangmi between them shifting around. Seulgi looked at him and smiled.
"Thought you never asked, it's hilarious seeing you obsessed over a flower because of Jangmi's name." she chuckled first before responding. "Different colours have different significances. Pink roses symbolise gentleness, grace, sweetness, joy, appreciation and elegance, how I hope Jangmi will grow up to be." she said smiling at the baby.
"And yellow? That's your favourite colour."
"Yellow roses are a sign of friendship, and red romance."
"That explains a lot." Taeyong hid his face in embarrassment as they laughed at the memory of him giving her yellow roses during Valentine's Day, and Seulgi laughed at him but never said why.
Taeyong turned back to Jangmi, watching as she sleepily sucked on her finger. His smile never left since the day she was born, his hand now gently patting her chest. "From now on I'll have pink roses sent to your room, my beautiful girl. You will grow up seeing only beauty and smelling sweet things."
Seulgi chuckled sleepily. The once uninterested King was now in love with roses.
More specifically, his little rose.
