Servant of Chaos WIP Introduction
[Listen, I tried to make a banner. But it's just not my thing.]
Introduction
After being kicked out of his home due to a scandal, demigod Rosaspina has lived in Inbury, a small village located on a mountain employing himself as a witch and solving his fellow villagers daily problems.
Until Chaos banged on his door and asked him to be a Minister, someone that incarnates the will of the deity they chose to obey. She tasks him a mission: find the missing Death... And maybe take down one of his own kind.
General Info
Genre: High fantasy
Status: 90% Of the first draft done.
Setting: 1815, completely invented new planet, still called Earth though. No, I didn't draw a map.
Themes: Loss, forgiveness, love, acceptance, betrayal.
Other features: Blind (and incredibly anxious) MC, regency vibes, lying and selfish deities, hard magic system, was supposed to be a retelling of the sleeping beauty but it's anything like it.

Will it be published?
I'm planning to edit and run it on Royal Roads in January 2024. There is no guarantee because I have a lot on my plate (job, family,house... Probably university too), but I will do my best.
For me writing is a hobby and I don't plan to be a "real author". If I'm going to have enough disposable income I will get it professionally edited - but considering my IRL expenses at the moment is more of a no than a yes. (As I'm also going to have eye surgery, ironically - and it's probably on me.)

I won't forget again.#They are evil dumbass 4 evil dumbass and I think we are all missing out on the sheer potential of the comedy between these two.#They have way too much power and are using it for the wrong reasons - which makes them truly great villains.#And when things don't go their way they become piles of whining sludge.#Wang Lingjiao is forever fascinating to me even though we only get crumbs about her.#She's a servant girl who's greatest asset is her beauty and her attractiveness.#Meaning she's had a life being in the gaze of people with significant positions of power over her.#I can't help but read her childishness and petty tantrums as someone who has finally been given the chance to not feel powerless.#If she was a more virtuous type we might 'like' her more but honestly...I don't think she would have survived to this point.#WLJ has only known power hierarchies her whole life. Probably accused of seduction before she even understood what that meant.#I love contrasting her with mianmian because they have similar(ish) backgrounds but different approaches to moving forwards#But WLJ's story is about flying too close to the sun and mianmian's is about going too close to the water.#Like the sea mist dragging her down into complacency - all the sect powerplays are mandatory to 'go along with' if she wants to climb-#-the social ladder. Yet she is the cautionary tale (and a foil to JGY as well) she leaves before sacrificing her own morals.#Mianmian flies away with her wings only slightly plucked while those who sacrificed everything to reach for the top crash and burn.

I find it endearing those two would get so happy when the prototype is near while other toys would feel intimidated by them XD
I will make more silly doodles about why Zero thinks so high of the Prototype in the future :D

Also Zero chirps when they are very happy (The only one who got to hear them is 1006 till now, Zero is a bit embarrased because he cannot control it but with 1006 he lowers his guard but also acts childish around him too HAHA)

Maul refuses to open up even a little about his past due to strict orders from Sidious not to. In essence, his own story is off limits in his own life.
This may be extrapolation, but I believe this expectation followed Maul throughout his entire career as Sidious' servant. I'd even say that after Maul escaped, he may have still felt psychologically bound by this little 'house rule.'
Maul may have profound difficulties opening up to anyone about anything, not only because of the trauma that you would expect, but because of an irrational fear that Sidious will punish him and those he talks to for telling "secrets."

The Devil
This Servant shows us the beliefs we hold that restrict us and keep us from true freedom. He encourages us to realise that we have placed these binds upon ourselves and can break free whenever we want.
You have many rules about how you should behave or act, what is acceptable and what isn't, and even what you are allowed to enjoy and what you shouldn't enjoy. All your life you have been told that some things are “wrong” or “sinful” but have you ever really stopped to think if you actually agree with these rules?
The Devil tells you that it is only you making up these rules- there isn't an ultimate and true morality, just your opinions on the nature of good and evil.
The Devil calls for you to let go of guilt and allow yourselves to do and behave the way you feel is right, not what you have may been told is right.
When you find yourself acting on a restricting belief that you no longer want, visualize The Devil’s sigil pushing this belief away from your body and far away from you.
MANTRA: The chains that bind me are now broken.

I used to think the whole "Human Order is putting you on trial for summoning too many Extra Class Servants" was dumb but...I mean if you work a bit with that and consider Extras are by and large NOT intended to be summoned normally, least of all to a Master, I can see it.
Although, I'd contend that in *most* cases, that should be the opposite of a red flag for Alaya - if Guda is able to keep a vessel of an Outer God under control? Or hell, an Avenger that explicitly hates all of humanity? that'd be a good thing, right? Like that is seriously the kind of person you want on your side, someone keeping world-ending threats in check.
Now, on the flip side of that, you have a Master who can let in a Servant whose whole being is to deceive the world itself, when Humanity is normally what defines a Heroic Spirit's very existence? And that Servant ALSO had a raging hateboner for the Human Order? Hm, then I can see that being a red flag...
Also the idea that we're in trouble with Alaya specifically because of Oberon is funny. He caused problems for us and hasn't stopped causing us problems. Silly little problems moth, whom I love. He should create more drama because it's enrichment for him.

Servant of Chaos 23 - An excerpt.
So, under the cut there is a ~200 words dialogue, this is from the rewriting.
Now I need to return to my first draft. I will probably rewrite something from 50 to 70% of the "Rosaspina deals with his father" part. Marking them fight once is enough, there is no need to redo the same thing three times. Plus I'm adding a lot of scenes there.
The only reason why I'm being successful with this project is that... I've ditched the planning part and I'm focusing on just the next scenes, not the whole picture.
When this draft will be over I will of course re-reread the whole thing and see if it actually makes sense or not.
A bit of context here: Fortune/Chaos is the protagonist great-aunt. She offered him a job, retrieving Death (and beating Bad Guy, but Rosaspina doesn't know that yet).
«I hear you. But why did you change your mind?»
«Because... I felt nothing until you told me about my mother. I've lost my sight, I should be desperate and crying and a mess, but I find myself unable to care. When I understood what was happening I went to bed and slept. I deserve nothing, I know it. And when I feel it's being stabbed in my hearts over and over until I can't breathe anymore. I've been begging Death to take me with Her. I can't deal with the pain and the nothingness, I tried to... take my own life, I just hurt myself even more,» he said, his low voice feeling like he was listening to someone else. Words he couldn't say to anyone else for years.
«You know, it wasn't my parent's fault. I've felt like this for ages at this point, and there is nothing that...»Fortune hugged him, patting him on the back.
«I can't keep going like this. I cannot. Please let me go at the end of this all, if... you can.»
«It breaks my heart to hear this,»She said, still hugging Rosaspina, «I'm broken, I'm sorry, I just wish I could go. »

Meanwhile . . .
Hsien-Ko pulls out the necronomicon again out of her sleeve and starts reading the very dark incantations to speak with dark forces of the plains while both she and Nemesis are walking through the halls regrouping with Raptor and the babies. Guess both she and the nemesis T-type settle differences and become allies.
" Lets see here... "
" STAAAARRRSSS..."
" Quiet! I'm trying to get us out of here, hopefully... "
Flipping each page she found the one she needed to cast now with the dark magic coursing through the jiangshi she begun the incantations and summon a greater demon to assist her.
" Quototh Iguro schumoth! "
The dark portal in front of them begun to open, and what came out is not a greater demon but another elder god that is a very powerful ally to the one and only bringer of chaos, Ghaszaszh Nyirh in the form of a dark priest emerged before them both with large spider-like appendages right behind his back protruding before they disappear back inside of his form.
" Hmmm? Who dares summon me upon this wretched place? "
The entity paused for a minute and smell the weirder of the necronomicon that is the former bride of the elder god Shuma-Gorath standing before him.
" Ahhh! Hsien-Ko? Is that you? "
Hsien-Ko stared then shifts her eyes on the pages thinking that she may have summon Ghaszaszh Nyirh by accident.
" Wait i-is this right spell? Oh god oh god oh god oh shit..! "
Ghaszaszh Nyirh takes her hand suddenly and planted a soft kiss showing his own hospitality.
" Ahhh it's been years since I have been imprisoned by the fool Dr. Strange, and my lord has told me all about you. "
" Y-Yeah well uh sorry but me and him had a divorce but I'm still like bound to him. I needed his help and that's basically it. "
" . . . Well, this is unexpected how long have I been asleep? "
" Hey its not like I dislike him, Shuma is a fine gentlemen and he treated me very well despite being a large eye ball full of tentacles you know? "
" Charming and what's this next to you? A sacrifice? Oh you shouldn't have... "

She'd be lying if she said the concept didn't send the smallest of shivers down her spine - something that could break through all forms of laws in mage craft. All her divinity and magical resistance would be for naught under that blade.
She gibes an innocent tilt of her head, staring at the dagger in a slight manner of mesmerisation.
"Say...you'd never think about trying to use that against me, would you?"
She doesn't expect to get an honest answer out of her - but she is keen to see her reaction to the question.

I have more ideas for Cult of the Primes (also considering other posts of this AU you post between me starting to type and me sending it in):
Maybe the cities dedicated to Megatronus and Prima are kinda swapped for a lack of a better term.
Like, Primes who succeed from Kaon/Megatronus's city are known for being some of the best Primes Cybertron (Primus's side) has seen and the city has exactly one known heretic that practically legend at this point, explaining why Kaon doesn't bring any more heretic Primes to Primus. They live in one of the harshest environment Cybertron can throw at them and they believe (and maybe it's basically proven) that worshipping Primus and Megatronus will protect their home from disaster.
Meanwhile, Primes who succeed from Iacon/Prima's city get some doubt from other cities whether or not they have Primus's best interests in mind considering the city has the most heretics. Like, 21 of the heretics were originally from Iacon and the next closest number is eight. The land Iacon inhabits is very bountiful, but they blame the fact they're close to the Unicron-worshipping cities as the reason why they have so many heretics. The rest of the cities don't really believe they because Vos is closer to a Unicron-worshipping city than Iacon and Vos only showed like four heretics. No where near the same amount as Iacon. Gossip mills say it's because mecha from Iacon are jealous of the other cities due to their prime being the so-called "first Prime" or even the fact that their city produces the most out of all the cities and should get special treatment. However, "it's just gossip, there's no reason to believe that" so it could easily be something else.
I can't for the life of me find the list we made for which Prime is for which city, but maybe each city produces something different that's traded with the rest of their side of Cybertron. Like, maybe Solus's city focuses on mining and smithing various tools made of the metal and gems they harvest from the mines like metal farm tools or gemstone jewelry. Maybe Megatronus's city has old coliseums and tunnels that they use to train various animals to help other cities with their jobs like cryo-pigeons with delivering messages through environments where comms aren't an option or volt-horses for helping pull equipment around. Stuff like that.
I might come up with more stuff later, but I don't have any other ideas right now so.
Heretics are to be rooted out, captured, and dragged in to be sacrificed and burned at the temples if they refuse to change their ways. Any who challenge the wills of the gods must not be allowed to proliferate, to spread their noxious ideals. If a heretic is found in your community, shoo them away and call for the church to bring judgement upon them, lest you be infected with their heresy and dragged down into the pits of hellfire for all eternity with them
Iacon having lots of these heretics despite being stationed just above the beating heart of Primus is so interesting. I like the idea of it being due to close proximity to Unicron's worshippers, but it doesn't really work with in-universe lore. After all, if they know that there are settlements that worship the Harbinger of Chaos... it wouldn't last long. The church would burn it to the ground and have them publicly executed for their crimes against the holy matrix
I'm also definitely here for the cities each having special commodities they produce correlating to their gods. Tesarus, the city of Solus Prime, is a city of artisans that treasure devotion through creation over all else. Everything they make is filled to the brim with their love for their goddess, endless praise and penace upon her holy name. Fine sculptures, vases, tapestries, weaponry, anything and everything that can be made by hand is best crafted in Tesarus 😌 I imagine Kaon as a city of warriors, with Megatronus Prime being their patron deity, Guardian of Warriors, and definitely one of the cities that has routine ritualistic sacrifices, in part due to the famous story of how Solus Prime was felled by their god's hand. Maybe they even have to offer a sacrifice to Tesarus, or vice versa, because of it 🤔 definitely smthn to consider
And finally, depending on whether or not we go with the sacrificial bride of Unicron idea, Kaon could perhaps have that aforementioned reputation due to their city producing two Holy Acolytes in a short span of time, one of whom later ascended to Sainthood. Kaon gets painted in a ridiculously good light, if we go that route

Was there any particular reason Clement AND his sister were raising servant morale but never made any moves on the PC? IK they’re probably completely inconsequential characters but that got me feeling some type of way 😭
lmfao "raising servant morale" is such a funny way of putting it. i didn't really have any answer prepared beyond "you can't really Force the player to have had a previous relationship that might conflict with their sexuality or worldview" but. the in-universe reason is probably the same as this sort of thing happens in real life... timing and opportunity.
Clement's not that bright so it was probably easy for Mrs Primrose to carefully watch the people she thought were most likely for him to become entangled with waiting to fire them at the slightest provocation (Lewis rarely worked up at the house before everything with the crows started going down) and his sister was more concerned with the ~*teehee* scandal~ of it all to annoy her parents, so she was mainly interested in the like. people with dirtier outdoor jobs like stablehands and gardeners and things like that. having secret liaisons in a thicket beyond the orchard and so forth
