Psalm 27:4 (NIV) - One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple.

“People are reluctant to pass over from the notion of an abstract and negative deity to the living God. I do not wonder. Here lies the deepest tap-root of Pantheism and of the objection to traditional imagery. It was hated not, at bottom, because it pictured Him as a man but because it pictured Him as king, or even as warrior.
The Pantheist’s God does nothing, demands nothing. He is there if you wish for Him, like a book on a shelf. He will not pursue you. There is no danger that at any time heaven and earth should flee away at His glance. If He were the truth, then we could really say that all the Christian images-of kingship were a historical accident of which our religion ought to be cleansed.
It is with a shock that we discover them to be indispensable. You have had a shock like that before, in connection with smaller matters –when the line pulls at your hand, when something breathes beside you in the darkness. So here; the shock comes at the precise moment when the thrill of life is communicated to us along the clue we have been following. It is always shocking to meet life where we thought we were alone. “Look out! ” we cry, “it’s alive.”
And therefore this is the very point at which so many draw back–I would have done so myself if I could–and proceed no further with Christianity.
An “impersonal God” -well and good. A subjective God of beauty, truth and goodness, inside our own heads –better still. A formless life-force surging through us, a vast power which we can tap –best of all. But God Himself, alive, pulling at the other end of the cord, perhaps approaching at an infinite speed, the hunter, king, husband-that is quite another matter.
There comes a moment when the children who have been playing at burglars hush suddenly: was that a real footstep in the hall? There comes a moment when people who have been dabbling in religion (“Man’s search for God”!) suddenly draw back. Supposing we really found Him? We never meant it to come to that! Worse still, supposing He had found us?”

A COMFORTER WILL COME
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I love this so much! The first time I saw this, the first thing I thought was happiness is a choice, and it is YOURS to make.
Just because there are others who may have more than you do, doesn’t mean you should start feeling bad about yourself. Rather, you should count your blessings on what you do have and think of what matters the most to you. Being happy for someone else can bring you just as much happiness.
As they say, counting blessings is much better than counting problems or other negativity. Always be positive and stay happy! Build your own happiness and strive to be Christ like!
Follow the example of the Savior!
Be an example others would want to follow!

***TRIGGER WARNING***
Just popping on because Matt called me at his lunch break.
He told me his coworker's son called and said, "Dad, you know I love you, right?"
Ut-oh, the coworker was thinking of his son.
Did he wreck the car, did he break something, lose something valuable, need money for something?
No, the son's best friend walked in on his father shooting himself in the head after arguing with the wife.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
-----------------------
Jesus, Elijah and Moses fasted in the desert for 40 days
Goliath taunted Israel for 40 days before David defeated him
God destroyed every living thing on Earth by flooding it for 40 days
The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years
I wish someone had sent this tortured soul who saw no other way out this song.
I'm not saying, things change in 40 days, nor am I saying things take as long as 40 years. In some cases yes, mostly in my opinion, no.
Yes, God does provide miracles, but remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
God gave us free will, He can not force anyone to do anything, but He can soften someone's heart, inspire them to do something, speak to them while awake or asleep.
Change takes time, but one constant in life is, things DO change.
I've been delving more into the Word nightly. The closer we are to God, the less we are drawn to things of the flesh.
Just my opinion. May this man's soul rest in peace.

“Go ahead and give God thanks for all the glorious things he has done! Go ahead and worship him! Tell everyone about his wonders! Let’s sing his praises! Sing, and put all of his miracles to music! Shine and make your joyful boast in him, you lovers of God. Let’s be happy and keep rejoicing no matter what. Seek more of his strength! Seek more of him! Let’s always be seeking the light of his face. Don’t you ever forget his miracles and marvels. Hold to your heart every judgment he has decreed.”
—Psalm 105:1‭-‬5 (TPT)

"That we, too, may hear Him and he may put questions to us that He Himself will answer, let us beg for Him and make an intense and anxious attempt to find Him and then we shall find the one we are looking for."

“For that same reason, human science (knowledge) cannot discover God; for human science is but the backward undoing of the tapestry-web of God's science, works with its back to him, and is always leaving him--his intent, that is, his perfected work--behind it, always going farther and farther away from the point where his work culminates in 👉🏼revelation.👈🏼
Doubtless it thus makes some small intellectual approach to him, but at best it can come only to his back; science will never find the face of God; while those who would reach his heart, those who, like Dante, are returning thither where they are, will find also the spring-head of his science.
‪𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝; 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.‬
It discovers a little of the way God walks to his ends, but in so doing it forgets and leaves the end itself behind…the very process of his work is such a leaving of God's ends behind. It is a following back of his footsteps, too often 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴.
To rise from the perfected work is the swifter and loftier ascent. If the man could find out why God worked so, then he would be discovering God; but even then he would not be discovering the best and the deepest of God; for his means cannot be so great as his ends.”
