Charles Sebastian Thomas Cabot - 1918-1977
English actor Sebastian Cabot is not uncommon in being far better known in America than he ever was in his homeland.
A big, bearded bear of a man, he is fondly remembered as the valet, Mr French, in U.S. Sitcom "Family Affair" (1966-1971). He also turned up in "Checkmate" (1960-1962). I have to admit, I have seen neither (and I don't know if Family Affair was ever broadcast in the UK).
Apparently, he turned up on game shows a lot. The only thing I think I remember seeing him in was H.G. Wells "The Time Machine" (1960).
Apart from being big, furry and cuddly (a man like I like 'em), from interviews I've seen he also had a gorgeous voice.
I'm always intrigued when a British actor picks up an American affectation (unlike someone like the great John Mahoney, who deliberately dumped his Lancashire for a classic American accent).
And, of course, even his polished English accent was acquired, given that he was a working-class Londoner (like me). Still, we're all allowed to reinvent ourselves.
It's a tragedy he died of a stroke aged only 59. He never got the chance to age into that hefty frame of his, nor give me the benefit of a more mature Cabot to lust after. It seems so unfair when weedy, unhandsome men get to live longer.
The only Cabot smoking a cigar I could find. And no leather gloved shots, but I shall keep looking (and dream of what might have been if we'd ever met...).

I watched 'Checkmate: A Human Touch' with Sebastian Cabot, and of course there's another delightful Old Lorre character I needed to draw. This time he plays a criminal mastermind called Alonzo Pace Graham who is out for revenge on Dr Carl Hyatt (Sebastian Cabot). He's just the nicest, politest criminal mastermind and his mournful 'oh nooooooo' when his plans get foiled sounds more like a petulant child whose toys get confiscated than anything else. I have some headcanons revolving around him now but it’s late and I need to go to bed, so here's Alonzo looming over dr Carl

The lovely Sebastian Cabot gets securely tied to a chair along with Jerry Lewis in the film 'The Family Jewels' - very nice!
Yes, I agree.
I know the rope work is a bit "ropey" but just the thought of Cabot secured by rope gets me excited.

So the other day, I made a post about a hypothetical Josie and the Pussycats cartoon revival, buuut I can't find it, sooo I must have deleted it? idk
Anyway, it'd have an art style similar to Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
Josie McCoy: Grey Griffin
Valerie Brown: Yvette Nicole Brown
Melody Valentine: Tara Strong
Alexander Cabot III: Matthew Lillard
Alexandra Cabot: Jennifer Hale
Alan Mayberry: Troy Baker
Sebastian (the cat): Dee Bradley Baker
I just had a funny idea for an alternate voice for Alan. Get this: he could be voiced by Markiplier. Imagine him (Alan) introducin' the band, and he says "Hello everybody, my name is Alan Mayberry, and this is Josie and the Pussycats."
