Scoops part 1

Scoops Ahoy had their employees do some stupid shit from their ridiculous greeting to the silly little sailor outfit with the too short shorts. The most embarrassing of all had to be the Birthday Song, a nautical themed song and dance they were forced to do any time a customer announced that it was their birthday. The whole song and dance is bad enough when Steve only has to do it for some little kids but today is worse, much much worse. The Hellfire Club came stumbling in in all their nerdy metalheaded glory and announced it was 'the anniversary of the birth of their most illustrious leader, Eddie Munson!'

They had almost definitely decided to celebrate at Scoops just to humiliate the fallen King Steve. That was the only explanation that made any sense to Steve at least. They didn't really seem like the type of crowd to genuinely enjoy a nautical themed ice cream shop.

This is the Worst. The song and dance is always the worst but this is a whole new level of embarrassing because it's for Eddie Fucking Munson. The King of the Freaks, yes but also an admittedly Very Hot freak. And now he's just staring at Steve as he makes a fool of himself. Eddie's face is red, probably holding back his laughter. Steve's reluctant crush on the metalhead, and the fact that he's into guys at all, is something Steve had only recently started to accept. He never expected to see Eddie at the mall. It just seemed like it would be too mainstream for him, So Steve hadn't worried about looking stupid at Scoops. He's never been so wrong.

As Steve nears the end of the birthday song Eddie covers his red face with his hair and the other Hellfire boys snicker and justle him around.

This is probably the worst thing that could happen to Steve at Starcourt Mall. He can't wait for Dustin to come back from camp so things can be somewhat normal again.
