I’ve been making some fun sea bunnies from a pattern I recently picked up as an excuse to try out chenille yarn. I’m going to make as many sea bunnies as the yarn I have allows.
One will be selected to continue to live its best life with me & the rest will require good homes. Stay tuned for when the sea bunny army is released into myshop!

i love your ideas about mudmouths. the actual splatoon lore on mudmouths is so boring (that they're just a bunch of salmonids that got stuck in a pipe and covered in mud). make them freaky..!
Thank you!! Some added quick headcannons about the Homerun mudmouths:
Most Mudmouths were previously low ranking salmonid warriors, they were more accepting of being test subjects.
The above is due to a sort of Octarian mentality towards warfare (being “ Utility = Purpose “ ) , since most Octarian are raised to support the life underground — most Octarian have occupations relating to the Army, and serving in the Octarian Army is a required service. (Salmonids did not have a proper army, one was formed as a result of the Great Turf War. So their forces function near identical.)
Sometimes, when Mudmouths “swallow” inklings, they escape completely disoriented, and are seen attacking teammates — oddly enough, these Inklings seem to Splat a few moments after, even if nothing physically is harming them.
^ When Mud is administered via force / injury it has a sort of “Nightshade” effect. Where during this disordered state, everything is an enemy. Due to Salmonid’s outnumbering inklings, this is more harmful than it is effective, which is partially why the project was completely abandoned.
(Mudmouths joined the Homerun journey as a result of acting solely as a “weapon” to be tested.)
Most Salmonids didn’t recognize the Mudmouths as Salmonids, the scent of them was described as noxious, like chemical sludge, and more like “toy slime” than actual species. It reminds them of Inklings. Many Running Salmonids attacked them at sight, assuming it was an inkfish intruder.
Despite the similar appearances between all known Mudmouths: when washed with water you can see this sort of gelatinous body, held together by the same biology that keeps inklings together— but since Salmonids don’t have “collapsible” bodies, the bones sometimes scrape across the ground. Leaving what some describe as “wheel like” footprints. Or sometimes are mistaken for sea slugs.
^ Inklings can sometimes identify where mudmouths will emerge solely due to awkward shrapnel bones or appendages sticking out of ink puddles.
Mudmouths can come in different forms, sometimes emerging as hands, or beaks, or tentacle’d messes, this is assumed to be the result of Mud attempting to mimic the Inkling “swim form”.
Mudmouth’s forms are so unstable, that it seems certain low noises can collapse them.
Mudmouths are near scalding, despite being mostly pseudo ink, they run extremely hot. (Most running salmonids function at extremely high temperatures.)

Sandbox games. I mostly play TS4 and chess. If you're bad enough at chess, it's a sandbox game.

An animal you're irrationally afraid of?
Hammerhead slugs. I don't even think we have them here, but I'm too afraid to google. Honestly, I don't wanna know.

Autumn. The sky is such a nice blue and it means summer is fucking over!
A smell that brings you nice memories?
Cut grass. Makes me think of childhood vacations, daydreaming in a hammock, etc

My go to is gin tonic, but I'll drink anything gin. Non-alcoholic, matte leao (yes, the gross one with too much sugar that got even worse after Coca-Cola bought it).
Do you give your pets random table scraps?
Yes and no. If it's something he can eat, I'll give him the scraps in a slow feeder toy. When we're at my mother's, she spoils him rotten though.

I remember Chuuya saying something about how he needs to buy more toys for Dazai and I was like It'd probably be a stuffed crab because Dazai likes crabs but then I thought about it and I was like it'd be so cute if Chuuya got him a lil sea slug plushie 🥺. Like it matches the ocean kinda theme that they kinda have going and I just know it's gonna make Dazai think of Chuuya and I ju- sobs

[Taro is talking with R/n when he sees this blue slug looking thing about the size of racoon crawling up her shoulder, he gawks as she calmly feeds it a discarded tomato from her burger .]
Taro, recoiling in shock: What the hell is that?!
R/n: What? it's just Snorky.
Taro: What the hell is a Snorky?!
R/n: He's an artificial creature Tregear created.
Taro: Why?
R/n: I think it's because I said I always wanted a pet but couldn't have one cos of my allergies, I got a kitten for my 8th birthday and broke out in hives and my [parent/guardians] had take it away.
R/n: Tregear got real quiet and disappeared for a bit; few days later he showed up with this little guy... Well, he was little when when Tregear gave him to me, I think we spoil him too much.
Taro: ...And you're okay with it?
{From R/n's perspective she just sees this cute little bunny looking guy sweetly chirping at her.]
R/n: Of course I am! I mean, look at this cute little face!
*holds Snorky up to Taro.*
{From Taro's perspective he sees Snorky as a creepy blobly monstrosity with crazy eyes, a frothing maw and nubbie bug legs kicking at him.]

Snorky (or Snark II.) is a blue Sea slug like creature that Tregear created as a pet for R/n, with some improvements such as it's appetite and growth. Unlike the first Snark, Snorky won't grow at rapid and terrifying rate every time he eats something, his full adult size will be about the same as a Maine Coon cat. Also Tregear gave Snorky legs so he wouldn't leave a slimy trail behind. He pretty much acts like a house cat he chases toys around and uses a litter box.

Take 2 on some wip fruitbugs i've already drawn! ill link each initial drawing so you can compare if you want! Also short reinteration desc+indications of what have changed/new things that have been added conceptually.
Rose Apple, a Pink Spotted Ladybug who's a househusband by day, and a star by night! No one in-game knows he's one person, they're too fooled by the outfit change to guess. He's very societal-rule abiding as a househusband, to the point where players don't need to interact with him much to have a 'romantic' relationship. But as a star, Rose Apple defines society, by doing things so out of the norm that people follow his lead. He's actually the one that taught cis fruitbugs that it's ok to wear 'feminine' clothing. Whether he's cis or trans is up in the air now.
Santa Rita Pricklypear, a Brazilian Pink Bloom Tarantula that lives in the desert level. He's essentially a mechanic to keep players away from out of bounds areas- he can punch the ground to create small, temporary mesas/mountains to dissuade them from going too far. He's a grumpy man who takes his 'vigilante' job seriously, but if you get on his good side (which is hard) he gets easily flustered.
Mandarin Orange, an Eretmapodites quinquevittatus Mosquito who thinks he 'peaked' in terms of happiness during his childhood, in his world equivalent of the 2000s. As an adult, he's broke and unhappy and clings unto nostalgia daily and obsessively. He uses what little money he has to buy 2000s toys he doesn't have. It doesn't help that the game objectifies him, given he was initially female. He's recent so not much changes
Grey Speckled Cowpea who calls himself 'Lazaire', a Silver Ant who's kind of a saturday morning villain- he wants to make the whole world chrome/gray like he is. He can achieve this by simply touching whatever item or environment asset he wants to be chrome. However a simple dash of water will wear away his ability, making his efforts relatively futile, especially on rainy days. You can't really get past his goal and perfectionism, but you can join him in his endeavors and be his henchman. And potentially get close to him... Also know that as a Silver Ant, he's very fast, sometimes too much for the game's frame rate to handle.
Yellow Platanera, a Texas Wasp Moth who's a rockabilly star. He's pretty popular among npcs and players, but he feels like he'll never be as good as Pricklypear Glowkids in terms of music (despite the latter being a different genre (country)). Yellow Platanera doesn't mind getting close to his fans, entirely because he needs reassurance and for someone to feel worthy of love.
And Yellow Pitaya, a Hypselodoris Picta Sea Slug who's actually very fast, hyperactive and most importantly, violent. He crushes anyone in his path, just for the thrill of it. He's part of the dragon fruitbug group, and is unfortunately the shortest by far, which fuels his anger towards others. If you can accept him, maybe he'd be nicer?
