I was driving up to a friend’s for the weekend on Friday and nearly broke down in tears because I saw a billboard on the side of a southern highway. It had the same yellow background with red text that those awful, ubiquitous “Jesus Saves!” billboards have. I nearly missed it.
It said:
“Rejoice! God loves trans kids!”

It’s finished! And in time for the intended recipients’ wedding!
Look, I had to buy an entire 14” hoop and use 22 count AIDA for this. And stitch with a deadline less than three months out from when I started. I am punch drunk.
ETA: Just checked the timestamps on my progress photos. I started this piece on January 13th. Which means I did this in 36 DAYS.

So, at my last vocal lesson, we tried a new technique, and it clicked for me. I immediately thought to try it with the first song I ever set to chords, because the difference would be immediately obvious, since that song was originally sung in a very different style.
When I tell you I am mad about how much better it sounds!
I’m even madder that when I applied the same technique to some of my more recent songs! And they also sounded so much better!
I am enraged! I am proud! I am awash in what the fuck!
