Hermitcraft Pokemon AU thoughts!
(If using this as reference please tag as 'Hc poke au' so I can see, also feel free to tag me :))
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This has been haunting me for a while so I figured I would throw them here for some people to enjoy
Basically this region would have a gym for each type, and the order is pre determined so each gym holds pokemon of a certain level. Once you get through all of them four are randomized to be your big trail at the end, with their real Pokemon.
The pokemon trial is a BIG DEAL needing to be signed up for and then selected as it is so intensive.
The main antagonist is an organization researching 'Sculk' who got infected :)
As well as an unusual myth that seems to be interested in a few of the members. The Watcher.
Now onto hermits and the rough order of gyms!
OTHER ROLES:
Rendog-
He is the host for the trails, the charming man who will guide you along your journey. However, somethings seems a little off about him...were his eyes always red? He is not infected with Sculk like the others think, instead The Watcher is using his eyes to gain information about its victims.
Xisuma-
Head pokemon professor, oversees all other branches of research as well as the trail. Elusive to the public, who has never seen his face, but close with the gym leaders as he is the one who calculates pokemon level for that year. Absolutely distraught at the appearance of Sculk, and values the safety of his friends over himself.
Cubfan-
An odd pokemon professor, researching the effects of pokemon moves on humans. He is considered odd, and many protest actually using people for his trails, but he is very careful and ensures consent. Was chosen to go and supervise the Sculk trials alongside the company to see if its harmful to people. (wink wink nudge nudge)
Mumbo-
The youngest pokemon professor, he focuses mostly on the evolution of pokemon and how and when it occurs. He is likely the professor you would see the most, interacting with gym leaders and Ren. When Xisuma begins to evacuate things, and Cub goes missing he is forced to run everything himself. On top of that, his close friend Grian goes missing. Absolutely crumbling under the pressure of the many tasks.
DocM-
The head of the organization researching the Sculk, he seems unaffected by the possession. (Until too late hehe) Cold on the outside, friendly on the inside he won favor of many gym leaders, even if the HEP and public are skeptical of his involvement. He is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery.
Cleo-
She is the head of HEP (Human, Environment, Pokemon) who focus on the human treatment of pokemon and the protection against pokemon rampages. They were tasked with monitoring the Sculk situation. With their 'no bs' attitude, you'd think they would have no friends with all the goofballs around, but its actually just a front for their pure sarcasm.
Joe Hills-
A member of HEP who came from distant lands, wont tell you exactly how or why but will spin fanciful tales of adventure. Actually under arrest for breaking pokemon out 'illegally' in his original region. Protected by HEP now, at least for a while.
XbCrafted-
A field expert HEP member, usually taking care of water based missions. He is close friends with Keralis and beef, often teasing that he could defeat their regular teams easy. During a mission to investigate Sculk along a beachfront, he goes MIA. He is eventually found stranded on an island with all his pokemon fainted, talking to a volleyball with Keralis's face on it. He is fearful of the man after being haunted by the small volleyball child.
Zedaph-
The last member of HEP, hard to spot and even harder to understand in a conversation. Smart enough to be offered a spot as a professor but denied it as he 'doesn't want his creativity limited.' Takes care of the technical aspects.
Etho-
Former Champion, held the title for many years before willingly giving it over to his apprentice. He is many peoples spark for wanting to be a trainer, and he is still incredibly talented. (Despite Gem's boasting.) Now he wanders across the land to revisit friends and watch the youngsters train.
Gem-
Current Champion! Rumored to be Etho's sibling or otherwise related she takes great pride in her title. Known as GeminiSlay, her pokemon are ruthless, mostly tanks and quick attackers. She often worries about how the public compares her to Etho despite their obvious differences. She takes care of her gym leaders, but always looks for opportunities to drop in for surprise battles, especially with Pearl and Joel.
Grian-
Very close with Pearl, former water gym leader but retired the position to her after she defeated him. Now he takes joy in annoying the other gyms and assisting Mumbo is his research. Still an expectedly powerful trainer. Snail, marine biologist man, surprisingly smart. Goes mysteriously missing during the Sculk breakout, and is found stolen by one of the legendaries of the region (the Watcher.)
GYM LEADERS:
BdoubleO- Grass
Disgruntled about being the first gym leader faced, but takes great pride in wowing the trail-goers and being a difficult first challenge. He takes excellent care of his gym, and enjoys his trail. He claims to be the only Gym leader who defeated Etho. One of the longest standing leaders. During the Sculk infection, he helps to maintain a safe area and contact Etho for help.
Pearl- Water
Takes excellent care of her pokemon and it shows, they are fiercely loyal and in tune with her. Sometimes seeming to move as one entity. Admires Gem for her determination and skill, the pair have a joking rivalry. Also very close with Tango, she likes having the upper hand in battling. She pushes Tango to train his pokemon better against water types. She leads the search for Grian when he goes missing, facing off against the legendary by herself.
Tango- Fire
A bit hot-headed, he can sometimes gain a one track mind when it comes to his projects and forget about his responsibility as a gym leader. He created his own trail, and ensured it was as far from the scorching flames the trail-goers would expect (Decked out themed.) Close to Zedaph, and often helps in HEP contraptions. When his dungeon starts to gain a consciousness of its own, he is surprisingly delighted, even if it costs him possession.
Impulse- Rock
Stubborn, vengeful, and critical he relies on his combined Gym to help even out his flaws. Despite what he considers fatal flaws, he is intelligent, loyal, and protective of his friends which compliment his other half. Like earthquakes he is a powerhouse with his pokemon, often intimidating trail-goers. Although they are very quickly shown otherwise with his welcoming personality.
Skizz- Ground
Overly trusting, friendly, and slack he relies on his combined Gym to help even out his flaws. Impulse pushes him to grow and match his level, as well as not immediately giving up on a grudge. While he calms and grounds Impulse's intense energy. The pair make a deadly duo and are the trial-goers first introduction to the concept of double battles. Warm and welcoming he surprises a lot of people with his demeanor.
Scar- Normal
While normal types seem boring, Scar would adamantly disagree. They have very few weaknesses, and have the potential to learn to many moves outside of their type! A lover of all pokemon trail-goer expect scar to be easy, but are very wrong. His Persian, Jellie, is not as friendly as her trainer. Distraught by the loss of Grian he is incredibly frustrated he cant go to look for his friend due to his wheelchair.
Keralis- Bug
Wide eyed and not that competitive Keralis aims to just have a good time. He showers any trainer who makes it to his gym with compliments luring them into a false security. Despite not being competitive, he is ranked higher than the rest for a reason. Bug types are underrated. Keralis was terrified when XB goes missing, he completely closes his gym to go looking for his beloved princess.
Ijevin- Poison
Goopy spooky guy, takes great joy in being so relaxed and still absolutely destroying people. Stock up on poison heals and hope he's having a good day! He is also one of the original leaders, and has fallen into a comfortable groove and gained mad skills. Overall reliable, and sturdy.
Beef- Fighting
His bulky figure leads most people to believe he is a ruthless fighter, and while this is true, he also has a heart of gold. During XB's disappearance he too closes his gym, strong arming any authorities away as he searches for his friend. He is the one to first find XB, who is fearful of Keralis after being haunted by the ball man.
Hypno- Psychic
A slinking, cheeky figure. No one has ever seen his eyes, and it is rumored that he can brainwash people with his gaze. It is of course not entirely true, but he continues it as it tons of fun watching trial-goers squirm as he watches them. Close with Wels and Ijevin, who takes great pride in making fun of being super effective against his pokemon. One of the older gym leaders.
Welsknight- Steel
What better category for a knight? With speed and tactic he tears down those who get in his way. He takes pokemon battling very seriously, but only because the competitiveness brings him joy. If he wins or loses, he had an amazing time. Although it can be hard to tell, the glare he gives while focusing would make anyone nervous. He plays heavily into the knight bit, people are unsure if je truly believes it (he doesnt.) But...recently he seems a tad more aggressive. And was he always so fascinated with the colour red? The watcher has taken a particular interest in the knight, and is attempting to use him in much the same way as Ren.
(Joel) Smallishbeans-Dark
His sarcastic ease makes most trainers doubt his skills, and he takes great pleasure in watching their faces fall as they realize it is NOT an easy fight. He is not what you'd expect for the Dark element, and he enjoys using contrast to highlight the shadows rather than just cast everything into night. One of the newer Gym leaders, he insists Etho would not get past him in a pokemon battle, and has spent most of his carrer jokingly threatening the man, and trailing after him to beg for a battle.
Iskall- Dragon
With a cackle he unleashes literal dragons upon trainers, likely named something ridiculous (such as The Sweed). He is very close to Stress, and the object of her terror via adoration tiny pokemon. He is also close with Mumbo, yet they drift apart as Mumbo takes on more responsibilities, due to the secrecy of projects he starts to feel resentment towards Mumbo for ignoring him in favor of Grian and Scar. However that quickly changes as the Sculk is revealed and Grian goes missing. Still reminds Mumbo that he wont judge him and wants to help when things get to be too much.
Stress- Fairy
She finds it absolutely hilarious that fairy types are stronger than dragon, and often terrorizes Iskall. Using the 'pretty but deadly' motif she dances circles around her opponents. Her pokemon are absolutely gorgeous! :) She cares deeply for the other leaders, and helps to calm and care for their mental health as the Sculk attacks happen.
False- Flying
The strongest of the gyms she is known as the 'Queen of hearts', as she often destroyed the dreams of those who dared to face her. She is the last hurdle before the final stretch, trainers often get sloppy now and she takes advantage of it. The longest reigning leader, she doesn't seem to want to retire anytime soon. Very close with Ren, but too busy to immediately notice his changes.... She is vital in helping drive off the Sculk, her powerful team helping to clear infected Pokemon and trainers.
big ass update!! I dropped Clownpierce to pick up Grumbot, which im not sure if i regret yet!!
Cub has started to spread his sculk, and so far as infected Grian. Bdubs and mumbo are next. Ive yet to talk to the rendog rp'er if Renn will be infected too. Cub also plans on releasing his monster soon.
Mumbo, Grian and Scar are currently having issues with their relationship, because Mumbo and Grian decided to adopt a child without Scars input.
Week 22 Transcript
Video
Intro
Extra extra, read all about it! Welcome to the Empire’s Recap, and today we will be going over the chaos and drama of our (somewhat) respected rulers!
This week, there’s no time for intros - there’s work to be done!
Pixl
Pixlriffs heads right back into the End with iJevin this time, after a quick trip to make, I mean FIND, some dodos.
[PIX] Abracadabra, LORE! There we go.
[JEVIN] Oh my god, that was amazing!
[PIX] and LORE! There it is.
[NARRATOR] Making this farm requires spawning a new End gateway, which means fighting the Ender Dragon, from Dodo-back this time. With the help of community tools and destroying the intended spawn location, they force the gateway to appear in the middle of nothing, perfect for making an Enderman farm. This’ll help Pix achieve his goal of getting godlike with ender pearls, though first he and Jevin have to actually get an endermite to spawn, which takes unusually long. Finally, the farm is up and running, complete with an overflow flush so that the server isn’t overwhelmed by Endermen.
In the Overworld, Pix decides to face the overwhelming amount of cats that Joe Hills has been breeding by giving the man something else to do with his time.
[PIX] Wh- Why, Joe? Why all the cats?
[NARRATOR] The museum needs a security guard, to keep anything else from getting swiped, and a man with his love of poetry and history seems perfect for the job. And maybe those cats can be useful, or at least moved off of the bridge.
That handled, Pix pops back into the end to improve the new Enderman farm just a bit. He adds a pearl voider to clean out the inventory, and a minecart system to make passage to and from the farm as quick and hopefully un-glitchy as possible.
Not content with one massive project this week, we find Pix placing an infinite amount of buttons in the process of making a Wither Skeleton farm. I’m starting to think this man’s definition of relaxing is “more work somewhere else”.
That, or the wine and cheese parties that happen in the froglight orchard, as he tells a visiting Rendog, who has a very enticing offer for him. Pieces of history, the Firsts of Rendog himself, a collection that Pix is eager to get his hands on. He gains a single piece in return for a dodo, that Rendog swiftly falls in love with.
[REN, LOUDLY] Her name is Deirdre!
[PIX] There you go, alright, she has a name now. And she’s all yours.
[NARRATOR] After sacrificing snow golems to a bound Wither in the End for wither roses, Pixlriffs makes the first spawning platform for the skeleton farm, and it’s so effective that he swiftly runs out of food. His trip back to the Overworld is far from uneventful, however.
Joe Hills, in his duty as museum security guard, noticed some odd patches of sculk popping up around the buildings. And then found out that Cubfan had placed more than a few sculk catalysts in the area.
[JOE] Anyway, I found the first few sculk catalysts and I put them in the evidence locker here, and… then I found another ninety.
[NARRATOR] Even with all the identified and removed catalysts, there’s still more in the area; a single mob burning in the sun could set off a chain reaction. Pix thanks Joe for his thorough and continued service, and returns to the Wither Skeleton farm to distract himself from the infection riddling the Ancient Capital, because if he can’t stop it, he can at least stop thinking about it.
Xisuma pops in yet again, happy to help move piglins in exchange for some of the wither skulls. They get just enough that even a few losses moving them into the farm are acceptable, and though only one layer is finished, the farm is shaping up to be quite strong. And dangerous - wither skulls in the wrong hands could spell a lot of trouble, and there’s a LOT of wrong hands on the server right now.
Joel
Those wrong hands include whoever replaced all of Joel's torches and lanterns with blue soul equivalents and left all of the replaced lighting in a chest with no explanation. Well, there was a sign, something about souls and skulk, but Joel is no less confused.
He plans to build a temple for Hermes in Upper Stratos, but first, he needs to gather some materials. His expedition into the nether goes awry when he accidentally places his bed instead of an ender chest, and explodes himself, along with all of his stuff. After putting together a set of backup gear, he finishes gathering all the items he needs for the build, and heads off to the ancient city to obtain another swift sneak book. He lucks out, finding one in the first chest he searches.
Joel then builds Hermes' temple, complete with golden throne for his boy. Hermes also has a new outfit, and Joel brings him over to Sanctuary to show off his new dapper fit.
fWhip also comes to visit, asking for Joel's protection from the Sheriff and his Hotguy. Joel, eager for any chance to fight and kill the Sheriff, agrees, and even pays fWhip to set up an opportunity to do so.
[FWHIP] I’ll call on you when I need ya.
[JOEL] Alright, cool.
[FWHIP] Thank you Joel!
[JOEL] Just—Just-- Just blow any horn, at any time.
[FWHIP] …You got it! Okay!
[NARRATOR] Finally, he moves part of the wall surrounding lore city outwards in preparation for building a temple to himself, but for now, the sheriff best be wary of goat horns sounding.
Jimmy
This week begins with a new dilemma for Jimmy. His strongest alliance and friend, Scar, has tagged Jimmy for the Hermit’s game of tag. As funny as the tag hat looks on the tiny sheriff, Jimmy wants to immediately get rid of the large responsibility. Afterall, he does have many other responsibilities in order to uphold the law back in Tumble Town.
Pearl finds herself as the Sheriff’s target after the tag machine tells Jimmy he must use fall damage. The plan is simple, somehow convince Pearl to climb to the tallest part of Hermitopia, retrieve her wings, and push her off the edge.
[JIMMY] Oh hello!
[PEARL] Oh, gosh!
[JIMMY, LAUGHING] Wait, that was the most British reaction I’ve ever heard!
[NARRATOR] Easy… kind of. The challenge proves successful when Pearl is a bit too trusting of the Sheriff’s law and hands over her wings to be inspected. With his plan being a success, he hands over the tag hat to Pearl. It was too big for a tiny toy anyway.
However, another hurdle presents itself soon after when Grian and Joel decide to spawn a wither right next to Tumble Town. Jimmy’s worry ends up being for nothing because the wither remains in the ‘wasteland’ and only hits parts of Tumble Town, which is also known as Joel’s kingdom seeing as he’s built most of what was damaged. Jimmy retrieves the star from the two outlaws but ends up in a high speed chase, forcing him to trade his prize for the wither skull and a bunch of random trash the others didn’t want.
Jimmy vows to get back at the God for his shenanigans to which he soon follows through. The sheriff happens upon something named an invisibility switch that reveals the secrets of Stratos. Turns out, the kingdom of Stratos is not floating, but held up by stilts.
[JIMMY] His base is being held up by-- by stilts! It ain’t flying! It aint hovering! It aint a God! He’s a liar!
[JIMMY SNICKERS]
[JIMMY READING SIGNS] I thought you were a God and you had like Lore and stuff. Your base isn’t even hovering. Bit cringe.
[JIMMY] There it is. There it is! I got him. I got him!
[NARRATOR] Later, Jimmy meets up with Scar who is wearing Scott’s hat that Scar had to trade the spare sheriff hat for. Scar swears he’ll get the sheriff hat back… eventually. This does not stop the two from showering each other in gifts. Jimmy bestows Scar with the deputy badge and Multiverse Jellie in return for a villager trading centre and stacks of iron for a Tumble Town beacon.
Finally, Jimmy heads back over to Hermitopia to try and sneak his way in only to find the Hermits have added a face to the build, a face that is unrecognizable to Jimmy.
Sausage
The economy is thriving in Sanctuary! There are a whole new array of villagers, ready to trade their goods. But a special guest arrives! Keralis laughs at everything Bdubs, including the cute dodo named Bdoubledodo. He makes plans for a more effective wood farm under Sausage's current one.
Sausage needs a disguise to infiltrate the Hermempire. He devises a clever outfit of sunglasses and goes undercover with Oli. They encounter Impulse and point him in the direction of fWhip's course, while freaking out over the sleeping Grumbot.
Meanwhile, back at home, Sausage has a vision, this time teleporting him to a dungeon that seems awfully familiar. And then, from the shadows, another him appears! And he is evil, but thankfully, he gets rescued by Bubbles.
Safe back in Sanctuary, Sausage builds his Casita. It's got everything: from a meditation room for him to a new bedroom for Hermes. But actually, Sausage decides that's not good enough for his boy. So he builds him an entire house, called Hermes’ tower. It's fit for a prince.
In another reality, something is brewing. Evil Sausage is planning something, and it's not good.
Scott
Something weird is at work in Chromia when all the torches and lanterns are replaced by soul versions! I mean, come on, corruption is so last season.
[SCOTT] Guys come on, a corruption-like thing spreading over a server? Like that’s so last year.
[NARRATOR] Updates from the stream include the somewhat illegal acquisition of Jimmy’s sheriff hat and Scar’s head to be placed in the tavern.
[SCOTT] I got some important items. One item being Scars head, the other item being a Sheriff hat!
But! To decorate the tavern slightly more than just some heads, Scott takes Pearl's suggestion to add a sunflower field out front.
[SCOTT] Just like that, we have a little sunflower patch outside the tavern, which I think looks super cute.
We’re going underground with this market and Scott realizes that he probably should add some more entrances. Make everyone complicit, you know? The sheriff can’t arrest them all.
[SCOTT] Ok, here is the entry from Sanctuary side, and again it’s a one way in so I’m going to need to go round and go back up into Chromia, and I think I do the other one over here in Joels area.
[NARRATOR] New entrances aren’t the only new thing, as there appears to be some sculk catalysts lining the walls and a new stall set up selling deputy badges.
[SCOTT] Ok so deputy badge, I will take one, thank you very much. *Cha-ching noise*
[NARRATOR] New pirate Cleo surprises him with some questions about the market, and makes some purchases of her own.
[CLEO] I… don’t have a diamond, but I can steal a diamond.
[SCOTT] There we go.
[CLEO] That is a thing that I can… *laughs*
[SCOTT] I love it.
[CELO] If I- If I wear that around Jimmy, is he going to absolutely lose it?
[SCOTT] He’ll probably be very confused if you suddenly flash it, just-- you can just be like, ‘it was a totem I don’t know what you mean’.
[NARRATOR] Cleo must’ve told Joey though, as next time Scott visits he gets a gun to his head and an interrogation about a missing trident.
[JOEY] Oh, so you just like to take things that don’t belong to you, and sell them to strange people?
[SCOTT] I have no idea what you’re on about Joey. Also isn’t taking things that don’t belong to you your entire thing?
[JOEY] Yeah, exactly, so leave it to me!
[NARRATOR] Apparently, Scott can defeat Joey with the power of customer service and being unfazed by a gun. At least he got a profit out of it!
[SCOTT] --and somehow also scam Joey twice, like I’m—I’m actually very impressed with that. You know, maybe this life of crime is actually made for me. Huh!
Joey
[NARRATOR] Joey says he’s ready for anything, and immediately gets proven wrong by ZombieCleo showing up in her new non-pirate hat. She knows how observant her Captain is, (or isn’t) and she’s got a message for him: his magical trident has been stolen! He checks, and she’s actually telling the truth.
Outraged, Joe follows her to Hermitopia and to the secret black market inside of the Greatbridge, which is apparently where his trident was last spotted as Scott of Chromia stole and sold it! He thanks Cleo for the lead, lying in wait until the thieving salesman himself appears.
And appear he does, checking on his ill-gotten wares. Joey threatens Scott at gunpoint, and bribes him with gunpowder, and the mixed messages do the trick: Scott sold the trident to Animalia’s own Mayor Lizzie! He also invites Joey to make a stall of his own, smoothing over the ruffled feathers. A black market is practically a second home for a pirate!
But first, he needs his trident back. Joey bursts into the Critter Council, holding all of them for ransom from a terrified Mayor for an amount of plunder so exorbitant, even Pirate Joe doesn’t know exactly how much it is.
[LIZZIE] How much is a bajillion in… pirate terms?
[JOEY] I think that’s like probably, like uh… *laughs*, ten stacks or something.
[NARRATOR] Mayor Lizzie pays up, returning the trident and paying the pirate, who returns home to Eversea feeling rather pleased with himself. And look, someone left him a little gift; does the pirate have a secret admirer?
[JOEY] Aw, that’s so sweet…
Shelby
[NARRATOR] If you're wondering how we got here, Shelby has finally emerged from her journey into the fog with a recap of the first encounters with the Hermits. Truly, the strange man - Tango, he said - is lucky he found the Evermoore. She’d prefer not to have lost souls wandering around the Mangrove anymore than they already are!
He’s not the only strange occurrence, and after False’s doppelgänger shows up, and the two are very happy to see each other – she finds out there was a group came through a portal but were apparently separated!
[TANGO] -Hermitcraft, yes. And we were sent through a portal by Grian. Do you know Grian?
[SHELBY] Grian… No.
[TANGO] No, you don’t. Ok. Well—
[SHELBY] No, we don’t have one of those.
[FALSE, OVERLAPPING] Uh.
[SHELBY] Welcome to the mangrove—
[SHELBY, SURPRISED] Oop—Is that Grian?
[TANGO] That’s the Grian! Yep!
[SHELBY] That’s the guy!
[NARRATOR] She equips them with an iron sword before setting out to Sanctuary, it’s probably the most welcoming place on the server. She’s not the only one with that idea, and the three of them meet up with a much larger group of people, including all the people fWhip and Joel found!
Sausage turns up with Keralis and Jevin in tow, but he’s a little late to stop the ransacking of his storage room.
She takes off back towards her swamp after hearing that there are some more visitors, and it’s Scott, Katherine and their collection of new people!
She directs them all to Sanctuary and ends up at the border of Eversea, where Joeys “new pirates” try to murder her! The truce is definitely off now!
[JOEY] Now, get her!
[SHELBY] NO!
[CLEO] Now!
[SAUSAGE, IN THE BACKGROUND] No, Shelby, run!
[SHELBY] I thought we had a truce!
[KERALIS] No, no, no.
[XISUMA] Kill the witch!
[JOEY AND CLEO] Kill the witch! Kill the witch!
[XISUMA] We were told to do it I’m so sorry!
[SHELBY] No!
[JOEY, ANGRILY] NO!
[SHELBY] So much for a truce with Joey. Sounds like we are no longer friends and not in a truce. And he wonders why Katherine didn’t pick him.
[NARRATOR] Old habits die hard, and Shelby and Tango meet again while ransacking fWhip’s storage room. He’s still wearing the hat she gave him, and ends up agreeing to have a few lessons on witchcraft!
One must always do brewing in a proper area - gotta make a good impression! - so Shelby and Tango travel to the Evermoore where she can teach him about potions! He listens intently, but he’s disappeared when she turns around!
Maybe he drank something and turned into a frog!
[SHELBY] Tango? Are you—did I? Why I didn’t even… Did you drink something? Tango? Did I make you a frog? I’m so sorry, it was an accident, I can fix this, I can fix this! I can make—oh my god.
[TANGO] What? What, what, what? What’s the matter?
[SHELBY] Oh my god. Wait, Tango? Are you speak--You can talk?
[TANGO] ...I’m right- I’m right here. Hi. Hi.
[NARRATOR] Oh. Oh good, he’s fine! It’s fine!
The two “new pirates” come skulking around, they’re called Cleo and Xisuma, and *apparently* they’ve been ordered to murder her, but actually want to recruit her to a scheme to kill Joey?
…she’s in!
[SHELBY] This goes against all of my morals—yeah no I’ll do it.
[NARRATOR] Joey is very mad after the murder and reveals he knows a secret of hers - blackmail, of course. What could he know? He can’t know anything! Well… that letter for her grandmother…
One of the new guys, Cubfan, comes over upon request to use his massive axe and science brain to figure out something about the fog - he comes back not quite right.
She decides to take a look for herself, which may not be the smartest idea. She gets further and further into the forest and finds a massive, massive frog.
He must be so old! The vines are so overgrown… maybe he got lost! She decides to help him out, and tries her best to lead him back towards the Evermoore again.
They get there, and the frog lets her put a saddle on him - he must like her enough, even though he’s not talking to her.
Outro
And with that, join us next week for more chaos and shenanigans! Thank you for watching, liking, and subscribing, and thanks to everyone helping with the project, check them all out below!
Change has come to the Hermitcraft server once again. The new update, with all the new blocks and experiences it has to offer, as well as a new authority figure!
Rendog has been crowned king, and his first decree was to demand all but a single stack of diamonds from everyone, to reverse the damage done to the economy during the diamond pillar contest. The money can be earned back by doing various tasks to improve the server. It seems inevitable that there will be an uprising against this arguably reasonable attempt at bringing order to the hermits, and who better to lead it than Grian? But it seems he has other ideas, for now. He doesn't want to be predictable, so for once he refuses to follow his natural urge to disrupt and rebel, and instead 'gladly' throws as many diamonds as he can into the king's collection.
Having made a point of not doing what we expect of him, he then takes on the challenge of the new Deep Dark biome in hopes of causing as much chaos as he can. He dares ImpulseSV to plant three wardens in others' bases, and returns to the city later to gather materials for his own use. How could he not make a jumpscare trap out of the new shriekers? As always, he takes the prank several steps further, combining as many shriekers as he can into a massive box of pure cacophony and terror!
He also makes decorative use of the sculk, those eerie blocks from the dark depths, as the future ceiling of his Rift laboratory. In the entrance to that area, they almost look like a starry void... but then, they would. That part of the base is, after all, somewhat reminiscent of his base in season 8, isn't it? Nostalgia is a big theme this season, Grian has implied many times that the past may come through the Rift somehow eventually, and now it seems to have begun...
(You know, I just can’t help but wonder. Sculk is formed when things die near a catalyst. I’m not saying a block of material can be evil, but if anything in Minecraft could have a darkness to it, it would be those items found in the Deep Dark. What effect might an entire ceiling of the stuff have on the Rift... If this season’s theme seemed spooky before...)
Tumblr media
More Info below the cut
You can read the last chapter a week early*
The last chapter of It Spreads will be posted publicly on December 21st on all my socials, as well as on AO3. The PDF will stay up forever and will be the only place the art and bonus material in it will exist, so if you want more lore that's where it'll be!
What's in the PDF?
The whole PDF has a total of 140 pages! 113 pages for the actual comic, some bonus art, and a bunch of lore doc pages and some concept art I haven't shown yet!
How much will it cost?
35 USD is the starting price but has the option to pay more if you want to leave a tip!
I don't want to pay for a fancomic
That's fine, no pressure! The last chapter will be out a week after the PDF is released and will be on my socials for as long as my accounts exist, so you'll be able to read it in whole regardless. I've worked on this comic for free for a year and the whole comic will come out and STAY free! This PDF is more if you want to throw some support at me and get some fun bonus goodies in return.
How will it be available for?
Yes. (No time limit)
BUT I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE AU!
Hold onto those questions! I'm going to be posting a google form for people to send in questions about the setting and story. The form will go live the day after the public posting of the last chapter and I'll be answering the questions live on my twitch channel!
Whether you get the PDF or have just been a lurker reading it, I cannot stress enough:
THANK YOU for reading!
