//hello there friends - it's been awhile, and i know i owe quite a lot
first of all, i'm sorry it's taking me so long - a lot has been happening all at once
i'm getting ready to lose my home
i'm trying to brace myself to lose my last living grandparent
i've got some friends staying with me [and we're learning that yeah, we're friends, but we absolutely should not be roommates]
and did i mention that the unit above mine has a pretty severe leak? ask me how i know!!!
work has been busier than ever and i'm doing about 90% of what walks through the door these day
so i'm essentially running on empty
all that to say that i'm going to sit down this weekend and attempt to crank out my drafts, but that i can't make any promises
if anyone doesn't want to continue anything, i completely understand
i love you all to death and i hope your 2024 is going much, much better than mine

A reminder to abled people and singlets
(Tw for suicide references and talk about ableism)
I’ve heard all to many stories of visibly disabled people having random strangers say something along the lines of “you’re so brave, I couldn’t live like that” but as all my disabilities are invisible the closest I’ve experienced to this was seeing people talk about how they wish they could cure their kids of autism and stuff like that.
untill today, when looking on youtube I saw a youtube comment that said “That would be absolute hell. Imagine you have full thoughts and sense of self but you can't talk or communicate except by thoughts to another person. To be fully aware and there is nothing you can do” and a bunch of replies along the line of “I would be thought-screaming to the other head that controls the body to jump off a bridge or building… basically just be a screaming voice in his head begging/convincing him to ki11 ourselves the fastest way possible.” (that’s a derect quote, and only part of it) someone even mentioned “split personality”
so let’s talk about why this is harmful shall we?
For one thing, don’t say you would kill yourself, in any situation, if you’re not suicidal. I don’t know why I need to explain this but I do.
saying things like that can be very triggering to people who have experienced suicidal ideation or who have lost someone to suicide
second, saying stuff like this implies someone isn’t “normal” and that that makes them broken or lesser. This hurts, a lot. Like, I don’t know how to explain it in any other words

any disabled people or systems who have things to add please tell me, I know I didn’t do a great job explaining it

Important update
I think it’s time for an update as far as my ( lack of ) activity here. When I first started my new job ( which is rotating 12 hour shifts ), I had convinced myself that my muses would stick around the same way they had before, even if they’d be quiet at the time. After several months, it’s finally come to my realization that trying to keep up with tumblr’s updates and changes while dealing with fickle muses isn’t going to work.
HOWEVER. I still want to roleplay with you guys. I still want to work on replies here and there in the future from here and my other blog ( which I will be reblogging this from as well. ) The main thing, though, is that after I eventually get out the replies I want to continue, I will be moving likely 90% of my activity as far as plotting and actually roleplaying to discord. I’ll be using tumblr mainly for lurking and keeping my muses page up because I genuinely don’t have the time or drive to move everything to docs. I’m not even certain how the process works on discord, so those that do still want to pursue interactions with me, please be patient. I have extremely limited free time on days I work, and other things to attend to on my off days.
TLDR; I’ll be doing a few replies ( eventually, I must stress ) and then moving myself to discord.
