The Timeline

Elon Musk buys Twitter to own the libs. Wait actually he changes his mind. Maybe actually yes. Wait. What about all the bots? Maybe no. Lots of people are jumping ship

Eurovision happened. Something about banana wolves and pussy salad? Idk man, but Ukraine won

Square Enix sold a bunch of IPs for... NFTs. Like Deus Ex and Tomb Raider. For. NFTs.

Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers came back in the weirdest possible way. Look aesthetics aside, I mean it when I say weird. Like Ugly Sonic makes an appearance weird. Like two characters got together that had no business getting together weird. Like Chip n Dale not sounding like Chip n Dale weird.

Avatar actually put out a trailer for its new movie. No no not the fun one with the bald kid or buff tomboy- the one with blue people that have sex with their hair

Warner Bros really weren't joking when they decided to make a co-op Smash clone of characters like Batman, Arya Stark, Jake the Dog, and Ultra Instinct Shaggy. It's real. I swear I saw it. I stg Batman and UI Shaggy really fought against Bugs Bunny and fucking Arya Stark. I wish I was lying.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is announced, and Sora has gone down from a size 32 clown shoe to a size 13 as he steps into the most disturbingly realistic world in the franchise yet.

Oh and this was a couple of months back, but Robert Pattison and Zoë Kravitz were interviewed by a Vtuber named LaPlus (La+?) Darkness from the Japanese side of Hololive, where she asked him how he used the bathroom in the Batman suit, and he gave a fun answer. He actually looked happy

And to end it on a somewhat bittersweet note. Scrat finally got the nut. That fucked up squirrel from Ice Age that caused several natural disasters, broke the laws of physics, broke EARTH- he finally. Finally got his nut. His struggle is over.

OMG THANK YOU, ANON! This is right up my alley! :D

So, as I'm sure most of you know at this point, Scrat's been my all-time favorite character/main F/O since I was 12.

And he's just. SO fucking cute y'all, I love everything about him. I love his nervous and frantic nature and of course his "nutty" personality. :3 I love how he becomes this blissfully sighing lovestruck dork when it comes to his acorn and of course Scratte.

I love that in spite of his hilarious yet unhealthy nut obsession, he grew to care about two others aside from his acorn in different ways. I'm of course talking about Scratte and Baby Scrat. <3 And that's the other thing, he can be a selfish little shit sometimes but he ain't too bad a father still! And he was a pretty good husband to Scratte for a while before he made that one really big fuckup that I love to make fun of him for along with some other stupid decisions he made. XD

There's just so much charm and personality to his character and I swear that I wouldn't have loved him as much as I do now if he spoke. I mean I'm sure I'd still love him obviously but him being this silent comic relief character and with no dialog from him in any of his scenes just adds so much more charm to him and I'm really glad that they stuck to that by not having Scratte or Baby Scrat talk either! And Chris Wedge does such a fantastic job voicing him and will always be THE one and only Scrat! ^w^

I also love that no matter how many times he failed to get his acorn and how unlucky he was, he never gave up and kept trying with all his might to acquire it. And now, after so many years of failing his goal, he finally eats it and gets the happy ending he deserved all along and I couldn't be happier for him. ;w; He definitely has his flaws when it comes to how he interacts with others when it comes to his acorn, but he's my ultimate meow-meow and his flaws make me love him even more tbh! It's part of his charm and the comedy of his character. UwU

So yeah, there you have it. Sorry it got kinda long but if you ask me about my f/o's, let alone my main one and I'll go off on a tangent for sure! Hope this was a good enough gushing over him. ^w^ Thanks again for the wonderful message, anon! <D

Headcanon:

Now that Scrat's finally eaten his acorn it means that he's decided to move on from his nut obsession and focus on being a father to Baby Scrat.

Also he comes across Scratte and they reconcile and she becomes Baby Scrat's mother (no I never got over Scrat and Scratte breaking up).

you guys got any unironic ice age headcanons i don’t remember much of this series and it’s fun to joke about but also that lady sabretooth in the pirate movie is a trans lesbian she has the swag i think

i will say that the pride edits we made are actually like, genuine headcanons and actually mod jay made a bunch of edits with pride flags for some of the background characters that we’re planning to post sometimes soon, but i personally mostly just care about captain gutt. sid is a transgay he/they though. - mod gutt

Scrat Tales review (spoilers)

Hoo boy, was that ever a crazy mix of emotions.

First, the obvious things- Baby Scrat is freaking adorable, and the shorts are funny.

Scrat looks amazing- I’m pretty sure they had improved his model and design that much more, even though I didn’t think it could get any better. It’s a crying shame Blue Sky was shut down- I think they could’ve gone on to do even greater things.

I can’t help but wonder if Scrat’s ever experienced true love before. With Scratte it more like a crush, an infatuation, and didn’t end very well. It’s pretty nice seeing Scrat care about someone.

It was also great to see Scrat get some character development. He was definitely expressing some emotions that he hadn’t before. There were many moments that were somewhat frustrating, though- he and Baby Scrat got tantalizingly close to learning to work as a team and not compete with each other, only to take a step backwards. I like to imagine they eventually learned to get along.

The last episode, “Nut the End”, was the real roller coaster, though.

I found myself asking many questions:

“Wait, was it the SAME acorn this whole time??”

“Wait, just how long is Scrat’s lifespan supposed to be? Why isn’t Baby Scrat all grown up now?”

“Holy heck, is Scrat DEAD?? They wouldn’t do that, would they?!”

“Wait, did Baby Scrat... attempt to murder his adoptive father...? That’s kind of evil... and also kind of genius?”

That last one had me especially conflicted. I wanted so badly for there to be a deep father/son bond between them, and ooze heartwarming d’aww-inducing lovey-doveyness all over the place.

All I can figure is that Baby Scrat, being an infant (or possibly a toddler by the end of it), hasn’t quite developed a sense of morality. I imagine he gets over making complicated plans to bump off Scrat later on.

As for the question of their species’ lifespan, my best guess is that Scrat was already close to the end of his normal lifespan. After all, only a year passed, and he didn’t visibly age during the time Peaches grew up. The babies probably only grow as fast as humans do.

Overall, I liked these shorts a lot, and I only wish there were more to further develop their relationship, and see more genuine father/son moments.

I was relieved that some of my concerns didn’t come true. I was worried that they would show Scratte abandoning the baby (although I suspect they were trying to imply it, based on his fur color), and place her in an even more antagonistic light, and end the series with her jealously taking him back or something.

It does, of course, leave us with the mystery of where Baby Scrat ultimately came from. Separation? Abandonment? Orphaned? We’ll probably never know.

Now that Disney is taking the reins, I can’t help but wonder what’s next for Scrat and the Ice Age series. Baby Scrat is gonna have to appear again. Will he grow older like Peaches?

There’s apparently another film in the works. I hope it gets a bigger budget than Buck Wild, and a slightly less chirpy tone. I’m sure Disney can afford to give it the full theatrical treatment.
