Secret Crush on You ep. 13 mini review ✐∗ ˖࣪ ༻
rating 𓄷 9.5 - by far my favorite episode, and I know I say that every episode, but no, seriously, this one was it.
spotlight couple of the week 𓄷 JaoSky and TohNuea (I thought I could choose, but I really can't)

review:
Okay, was not expecting that turnout with Nuea finding out about Toh's secret memorabilia. I for sure thought they were going to make it hella corny, with Nuea jumping onto Toh to confess how horny Toh's collection made him. But no, this was done with precious timing and perfect detail, casting over our initial problem with Toh feeling like his relationship wouldn't last and Nuea reassuring him that it will. They shared a pretty hefty moment together, and I'm glad we were able to finally get a moment with them that felt vulnerable and exquisite. For once, I didn't mind that they took up most of the run time.
Sky and Jao.??????? Literally it was perfect??? and everything and more than I wanted it to be?????? Genuinely, I wasn't expecting a bed scene from Jao and Sky, cause I would've 100 percent accepted it, but the fact that we did get one, twice in one episode, is crazy. They were so soft with one another, Sky made sure to be gentle, yet he let Jao know beforehand he didn't know how much he could hold back. I have never seen such desire in Jao's eyes but it was clearly there, and gosh was it amazing. Just to see Jao even be the one to somewhat make the first move to show that he didn't mind that Sky touched him or kissed him -- urgh, it was too good. I finally feel complete with this couple, and Now Jao is not afraid to show intimacy even around his friends, God, these creators are geniuses.
A crumb and a half of Daisy and Intouch. I'm scared at this point that they'll be rushed into oblivion. Next week is the LAST episode, and we've gotten next to nothing. What I'm thinking will happen is that we'll either get a flashback to moments that they've had together off-screen while we were busy with Nuea and Toh, or they'll explain that they've been in a relationship for so time now. Either way, it'll suck because I want to follow along with o their journey, not halfway to their destination.
As much as love Kongkwan and Fong, there was no reason to have them in this series if they weren't going to do anything but give us nothing. I know they're getting their own series, but they just feel lackluster here, to the point that they are basically irrelevant. I wish we could actually see some development between the two. Instead, they're just there.
Like I thought, there was no need to add Kong into the series for the very unnecessary drama. It's so irrelevant that it makes me angry. It does nothing to destroy Nuea and Toh, Toh doesn't think any less of himself because of it, and it's just pure stupidity. With the time they took out to introduce this conflict they could've used it for our two other relationships that have zero development.
They didn't show any Daisy and Touch for the next episode and so now I'm a bit nervous. Again, they most likely are going to have a secret relationship, because, at this point, it would be absurd to have them get together in the one episode we have left. Either that or they're friends with benefits since Touch isn't afraid to say some flirty shit out of the blue.

Thank you @nieves-de-sugui for tagging me 😘 I've already tried to do it twice, but I'm one of those people who, wearing a T-shirt of their favorite band and asked about the band's songs, can't remember any of them 😄 it's so emabarssing, like "what's your fav BL" me, a BL enjoyer: "blank stare". But I'll do my best! and I'll probably remember what series and characters I could write about 10 minutes after posting
Worst soundtrack / weirdest song choice in a BL I honestly don't pay much attention to music in BL's, as it's mostly pop music, I rely on @troubled-mind who is my guru when it comes to the music stuff in BL series 😎

Most stupid decision made by a character oh gosh, most dramas are made of stupid decisions lol. But there are stupid-stupid reasons that I tolerate and stupid-annoying decisions, that I hate. All "I will keep my beloved in the dark, for his sake" or "I will leave my beloved for years because of some stupid reason", or "this shit could have been solved by 1 (one) honest converstation" stuff falls into latter category. The drama that comes to mind is Step by Step, the characters made so many stupid-annoying decisions. oh wait, I know! I LOVED Ghost Host, Ghost House to death, and then one of them made a stupid decision. I'm not over it to this day 😤
Worst plot line if I have to choose one it's probably White pretending to be Black in Not Me

A show people love but you find bad people are gonna hate me for this 😬 but it's Not Me, Never Let Me Go, Between Us, Theory of Love or recently La Pluie. There are also series with a very devoted fan base that where just ok for me, like Bad Buddy

I WILL defend a series, or character when I think they are misjudged or misunderstood though, not necessarily my favs. hmmm, I think Oh! Boarding House is one of my favs, that people probably find mediocre or even boring 😄

One thing I really just need to say about Scoy is that unlike a lot of BL out there, this narrative and character development is so tight. No plot holes, no suddenly out of character/irrational reactions for the sake of drama, but instead an actual circular narrative that really tied back to the beginning to show the growth and change from that starting point with no loose ends or wasted chances.
Toh's collection is now not just pictures of Nuea taken from afar, it's pictures of them together, pictures they've taken of each other, their memories they both share, all put together in their shared space, their home.
Jao who always felt awkward and uncomfortable with himself and around others isn't afraid to go anywhere now because he found his home and his confidence with Sky.
Daisy really deserved so much more than a 5 second conversation, but the point still stands that she found so many people who love her as she is and just want to see her happy including someone who can love her as a romantic partner with no demands or disgust or uncertainty- only love, patience, and acceptance.
Nuea who had been treated like some untouchable, perfect idol, finally broke through the lens and was able to get Toh to see him as he is- an ordinary person full of love and devotion that just wants to have that love and devotion returned.
Sky who even at the beginning was compared negatively with Nuea, who never felt as cool or smart, found someone who sees him for all the good that he is, and loves him unconditionally.
I wish we could have had more episodes to fully delve into the stories of all the characters. I could watch so many seasons of these characters. Admittedly, some parts of the finale were a little rushed, but I really loved this series and I know I'm going to be re-watching it so many times.
The message is so beautiful and so well crafted.
Everyone, no matter how much they do or do not align with what people think is "normal" or "good" deserves friendship, love, family, and acceptance, and deep down that support is what we all want. The "cool kids" like Nuea and Sky, the "weird kids" like Toh, everyone just wants to feel seen for who they are and loved genuinely.
All those people out there that stopped watching because of "cringe" are the people that need this lesson the most, and I hope they give it another chance because that's really the point. Learning to accept other people even for the eccentricities and differences is so important. It's when we can look beyond those differences and see each other as real people, that everyone can feel safer being themselves and know that they are worthy.

Another thing I love about Chay (aside from uhhhh everything) is that he genuinely isn’t trying to cozy up to Kim. He showed up to play a song for Kim, but it wasn’t because he wanted to ask Kim questions or pester him into more lessons or whatever. He just wanted to play the song and prove he did his homework. Then he left, no muss no fuss. Kim’s probably spent his whole life with everyone around him trying to get close to him for personal gain, both as a mafia prince and as a musician. This kid, though, he just appears, plays a song, smiles a lot, and dips. It’s extremely charming.

You know what? I am so glad that kinn and porsche have fun together. It would be so easy to make their relationship tense and passionate and all-consuming (and it is! In many ways!) but they also just, like, make each other laugh. Their sex is joyful. They go on dumb cheesy dates and exchange forehead and sniff kisses. Kinn finds Porsche’s quirks charming rather than something he puts up with. Porsche finds Kinn and his awkward, hidden earnestness cute. They flirt SO badly. Outside of the sex and the mafia and the danger, they just want to hang out. Love this for them.
