TT: Wow. Bravo, Dave. You've outdone yourself.
TG: i wrote this one exceptionally fucking terrible to represent my inner darkness
TG: i can never unwatch those cinematic fossilized turds theyre like time capsules devoted to everything wrong with america
TG: you dont even understand how egregious that was
TT: I can sense the utter malaise and contempt in every word. It's beautiful.
TT: One particularly interesting point I'd like to make is the fact that you managed to refer to butts in a song about a male target, 10 times in the span of 37 lines. It's not an exorbitant amount, but it appears to be a running theme in your works. Very interesting, if you ask me --
TG: nooooo
TG: nope no
TG: not this shit again
TG: listen one of them is karkats fault
===
CG: ROSE, YOU JUST DON'T FUCKING UNDERSTAND WHAT HE'S DOING HERE AT ALL.
TT: No? Please, enlighten me Karkat.
CG: GLADLY.
CG: HE STARTS OUT WITH THE FRIGGIN WORD "ANAL" PRECEDING ALL OF THE OTHER MENTIONS, OF COURSE IT'S ON PURPOSE. IT INSTILLS THAT IMAGERY IN YOUR NUGBONE THROUGHOUT THE TRACK.
CG: AND YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED A RECURRING USE OF THE WORD "SHIT", IN TANDEM. BOG-STANDARD FOR DAVE, RIGHT? NO! IT'S PART OF THE EFFECT!
CG: MY THESIS: ADAM SANDLER MOVIES ARE PIECES OF ABSOLUTE SHIT AND THE REFERENCES TO WORDS LIKE "LOG" AND "SHIT" AND "ASS" ARE TO INVOKE THE SENSE OF TAKING A MASSIVE DUMP THROUGHOUT THE SPAN OF THE RAP, WHICH BY ALL MEANS WOULD BE AN EQUAL OR GREATER USE OF YOUR TIME THAN WATCHING THOSE MOVIES.
CG: RIGHT, DAVE?
TG: … yeah
TT: Okay, I'm willing to concede to that. On this subject matter, as an avid terrible movie enjoyer, you admittedly know better than myself.
CG: SHOULD KNOW BETTER.
TT: And you love them anyways.
CG: YEAH.
TG: hes right
TG: you hear that shit hes right
TG: fuck death of the author im verifying that interpretation

WOM - November 2005, Interview with Schneider
Only a year after their successful album 'Reise, Reise', Germany's last romantics are back. WOM Magazine spoke to drummer Christoph Schneider about Rammstein's new work 'Rosenrot'.
The lyrics to the title song 'Rosenrot' sound like a best-of from Grimm's 'Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot' and Goethe's 'Heidenröslein'. An album between fairy tale hour and high culture?
It's hard for me to answer that with yes or no. Of course, Till's poetry always borrows from fairy tales, in this old language and words that are no longer part of colloquial language. That's his way of writing.
'Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot' is a story about love. In the face of so much anger and aggression, do you have room for love?
Sure, that's also represented, as always with Rammstein. We've always had a romantic side. There's a song or two on every album where that comes into play. I find that on 'Rosenrot' the romance increasingly shines through. And I'm very happy about that too. You continue to develop. We're not as angry as we were ten years ago. Occasionally you have to listen to what is happening now.
What is now?
We are all ten years older than Herzeleid. You no longer only have this destructive, aggressive potential, but there are also other sides, facets.
With all due respect: You just recorded a track called ‘Zerstören’, it's about 'saw up, dismantle, injure, shred, rip, smash' - as a symbol for aggression out of frustration because of disappointed love.
Yes, that's often the case. If you are not loved, you have to draw attention to yourself in other ways.
One of the most controversial tracks on the album is undoubtedly 'Mann gegen Mann'. It says: 'Not a link is missing in my chain / When lust pulls from behind / My sex calls me a traitor / I am every father's nightmare'. Where does the desire for homoerotic fantasies come from?
In their story, Rammstein have already written, set to music and illustrated all possible variants of love. 'Mann gegen Mann' describes a side of love that we haven't explored yet. There is some homosexual potential in every human being. It remains to be seen to what extent this will come into play or become a philosophy of life. In any case, it seemed so interesting to Till that he wanted to write a text about it. As a band, we found it difficult to face such a topic as a 'macho band', so to speak. Some might be wondering: are they gay after all, or what?
Or homophobic? The way you yell out the word 'gay' in the chorus doesn't exactly sound like the song will be the anthem of the next CSD.
We were tempted to associate the supposed swear word 'gay' with heavy music. But you can tell in the text that we don't use that as a swear word, but in a different way of dealing with the topic — as a very idiosyncratic way of illuminating the topic.
Does your keyboarder Flake have to fear the worst at the stage show again? (Flake is partially penetrated with a strap-on in the song 'Bück dich'.)
(Laughs) Yes, but Flake is ready for anything anyway! Interesting to think about what visual rendition would go with the song!
It is said that the songs from 'Rosenrot' are leftovers from the last session of 'Reise, Reise'.
'Rosenrot' is also partly a follow-up album to 'Reise, Reise'. Half of the songs were created during those recordings. But at that time we couldn't fit all the titles on 'Reise, Reise' because they were too close together in terms of content and we detest albums that are too long. That's why the idea came up to record a follow-up album right after our tour.
The new album receives a lot of advance praise. What do you think is the reason for this?
‘Reise, Reise’ was a departure for us. It was colourful, had many different elements and you could see that Rammstein wanted to move. They want to go somewhere else. We realized that we couldn't find anything new in our style. Hence the change. 'Rosenrot' has become very versatile, it is very polarizing. There are extremely hard pieces and extremely soft songs. For me this album is a quest for what Rammstein can be in the future. It's hard for me to say that we've reinvented ourselves.
If 'Reise, Reise' was an album of departure, where did you arrive with 'Rosenrot'?
For me, 'Rosenrot' is not actually an arrival. It's the end of a chapter. But it also opens doors that we can go through. In any case, 'Rosenrot' has brought back a lot of energy that we haven't had for a long time.

LGBTQ+ Movies I Watched Recently (Part 2)
Happiest Season (2020) dir. Clea DuVall
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Abby plans on proposing to Harper when they visit Harper’s family for the holidays. Her plans get derailed when she learns that Harper hasn’t come out to her family yet.
Why you should watch it: Not gonna lie, Mackenzie Davis drew me to this movie; I’ve been in love with her ever since San Junipero came out. Add Kristen Stewart, Aubrey Plaza and Dan Levy to the mix and I’m sold. If you want a sapphic romance with a happy ending, this one’s for you.
Été 85 (2020) dir.  François Ozon
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Alexis recounts his six-week love affair with David during the summer of ‘85.
Why you should watch it: If you love 80s aesthetic and music, you definitely should watch this. The movie made me nostalgic of that decade and I wasn’t even alive back then! It’s a whirlwind summer romance reminiscent of Call Me by Your Name but with a more devastating twist.
Getting Go: The Go Doc Project (2013) dir. Cory James Krueckeberg
Tumblr media
Short Summary: An obsessed college boy pursues his internet crush through the pretext of making a documentary about him.
Why you should watch it: The script and the acting are the one-two punch of this film. The writing is incredibly genuine, and both of the actors’ performances made the lines feel even more natural. I’m not the biggest fan of mockumentary-style films, but this one felt like it was a recording of my own life. Hyper-obsessive college grad with a Tumblr blog? Might as well have called out half the population of this damn site.
Pihalla (2017) dir. Nils-Erik Ekblom
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Miku and Elias find themselves, and each other, during a summer in the Finnish countryside.
Why you should watch it: I’m a sucker for gays in the countryside™ and although this one is not quite up there with God’s Own Country and Call Me by Your Name, it still makes for a good watch. Miku as a character and his relationship with his parents was chaotic and fun. His relationship with Elias felt really natural and dreamy.
You, Me and Him (2017) dir. Daisy Aitkens
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Olivia, a mature responsible lawyer, wants to have a baby, but her girlfriend Alex isn’t ready for the responsibility. Things get even more complicated when their flirty neighbour, John, joins the picture.
Why you should watch it: It is one of the most feel-good lesbian romcoms I have seen in a while. But I warn you, there are some dark parts that can really sneak up on you. Yeah, it’s hilarious, but damn it made me ugly cry, too. Oh, and if you want to see David Tennant as an alpha male douchebag, here’s your chance. (CW: **spoiler alert** p̶r̶e̶g̶n̶a̶n̶c̶y̶ ̶l̶o̶s̶s̶ )
Giant Little Ones (2018) dir. Keith Behrman
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Franky and Ballas have been best friends since childhood, both on the swimming team, both incredibly popular. But after an incident during Franky’s birthday, they quickly fall apart and Franky falls from grace.
Why you should watch it: I think the film captures just how tumultuous coming-of-age stories are. Franky is going through his own journey of self-identity, and I’m happy that the movie didn’t rush in with labels. The conversation Franky has with his dad at the end also hits hard.  (CW: physical assault, allusions to sexual assault)
Our Love Story (2016) dir. HyunJu Lee
Tumblr media
Short Summary: A fine arts student meets an attractive bartender, and the two women begin an intimate relationship.
Why you should watch it: It’s a very intimate love story that isn’t rushed or dragged out for too long. We definitely see Yoon-Jo and Ji-Soo’s relationship bloom from start to end, but it’s not mind-numbingly boring to watch. Raw and unembellished, I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a realistic portrayal of wlw romance.
Die Mitte der Welt (2016) dir. Jakob M. Erwa
Tumblr media
Short Summary: The film follows Phil and his relationship with his family, his best friend, and a newcomer at his school, Nicholas.
Why you should watch it: This is technically a second watch for me, and I’m glad I rewatched it, because I was able to catch some glaring red flags that I missed the first time. I love this movie in spite of all the heartache it caused me. The story, especially the deal with Phil’s family, struck a chord in me. And the shots! Visually stunning as well!
Les Amours Imaginaires (2010) dir. Xavier Dolan
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Marie and Francis’ friendship is put to the test when a beautiful boy called Nicolas comes between them.
Why you should watch it: Watch it for the visuals -- the colors, the costumes, the cast. Seriously, the actors included here may as well be kept in the Louvre: Xavier Dolan, Neils Schneider, Monia Chokri, hell, even a cameo from Louis Garrel! Dolan said it himself that this is a shallow film, but it’s worth the watch just to see Neils Schneider wearing heart-shaped glasses.
Closet Monster (2015)  dir. Stephen Dunn
Tumblr media
Short Summary: A creative and driven teenager is desperate to escape his hometown and the haunting memories of his turbulent childhood.
Why you should watch it: Right off the bat, I am going to say that this film is dark. I tried watching it back in college but tapped out within the first ten minutes because something traumatic happens. Then I tried again about a week ago, finished it this time. It’s actually a very moving film. It’s violent and gory in some parts, but also ridiculous and wholesome in other parts. IT HAS A TALKING HAMSTER NAMED BUFFY! BUFFY WAS THE STAR OF THIS MOVIE FOR ME. (CW: gay bashing/sexual assault)
Straight Up (2020) dir. James Sweeney
Tumblr media
Short Summary: Todd and Rory are intellectual soul mates. He might be gay but she might not care.
Why you should watch it: The dialogue in this film is undeniably sharp and witty. Loved the fast-paced back and forth between the two main characters as they discuss relationships, sex, gender, and more. James Sweeney and Katie Findlay’s chemistry just pulled you into the screen. It was funny, it was sweet, it was heartwrenching, it was great! (CW: allusions to sexual assault)
Latter Days (2003) dir. C. Jay Cox
Tumblr media
Short Summary: A promiscuous gay party animal falls for a young Mormon missionary, leading to crisis, cliché, and catastrophe.
Why you should watch it: I saw this in santiagonex’s top 20 LGBTQ+ films with happy endings, and I honestly thought it was gonna be a feel-good watch. Instead, I got a rollercoaster melodrama filled with early 2000s gay culture, religious guilt, buttcheeks, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Needless to say, I got more than I bargained for. (CW: self-harm, conversion therapy)
The Old Guard (2020) dir. Gina Prince-Blythewood
Tumblr media
Short Summary:  A covert team of immortal mercenaries are suddenly exposed and must now fight to keep their identity a secret just as an unexpected new member is discovered.
Why you should watch it: Okay, I was debating whether I should include this here, because it’s not necessarily an LGBTQ+ film as much as it is an action film with queer characters. I decided to include it, because JESUS! I have never seen such respectful and well-written representation of queer characters and relationships. Joe and Nicky are the most unproblematic couple in history. PERIOD. Pray for sequels, everyone. This is the kind of representation we deserve in mainstream media.

crisis averted (1/?)
(this has been sitting in the drafts since february, who knows if it’ll get whipped into shape or not.)
“We have a crisis,” Comfry told him as soon as he accepted the incoming call, before he could even say the word hello. Dread settled in the pit of his stomach like a rock.
“A crisis?” Greg repeated, scratching his neck anxiously. It had only been a couple of months since Kendall had put Berry’s firm on retainer for their litany of public relations issues, but Greg figured that the team would know by now that he wasn’t really the right person to approach in these situations. Like, what did they even have a crisis manager for, if not to manage crises? “And, um. You’re calling me because…?”
“Sorry, I should have been clearer. We have a crisis. You and me.”
Well, this was news to him. “We do?”
“Boy, please.” Comfry heaved a dramatic sigh. “Don’t put on a brave face for me. You’re not doing yourself any favors.”
“Uh…? I’m, uh, not following?”
“It’s Valentine’s Day? And we’re both miserable, chronically single people. What are we gonna do about this, Hirsch?”
The tension in his shoulders loosened. Greg sighed, too. “See, but like, you can’t just call me out of nowhere and tell me that there’s a crisis when there’s not, like, actually a crisis? You get that, right?”
“Look, I’m off the clock,” Comfry said. “But that doesn’t mean that this isn’t objectively a crisis. You have plans tonight?”
Greg cracked a smile. “Uh, no.”
“Ha, me neither. Hence the distress call. So. I’ll be at your place in, like, an hour?”
“Yeah, sure. Hey, bring wine? Like, a lot of it?”
Comfry laughed. “I like the way you think, Hirsch.”
. . .
It didn’t really bother Greg that he was single. Honestly, it didn’t. He got the impression from other people that it was supposed to bother him that he was twenty-nine years old and living all by himself in a four-bedroom duplex in Tribeca, but then again, he should have been bothered by a lot of things that barely registered with him. Like, was he bothered by the fact that almost everyone on both the Hirsch and Roy sides of his family basically hated him? Or did it bother him that he didn’t have a long-term plan for his life beyond, like, surviving this proxy battle and hanging onto his health insurance? (A little, but whatever.) It was just one of those things that a self-sufficient adult was supposed to have on lock, right? A serious relationship, marriage and kids somewhere down the line? He wasn’t opposed to it in principle, hang-ups from his mom and dad’s divorce aside, but, like. It was so abstract.
Apparently it bothered Kendall, though. A few weeks back, he’d pulled Greg aside after an on-site meeting at Schneider & Associates.
“Question for you, bro,” Kendall had said, after the conference room cleared and they were alone. He drew up a chair at the end of the table and sat, propping his feet up on an adjacent rolling chair. “Uh, what do you think of Taylor?”
Greg blinked down at him. “Wait, who’s—oh, you mean Comfry?”
“Yeah, yeah. The assistant.” Kendall looked at him, expectant. “So, uh, you gonna go for it? Seems like there might be something there.”
It took everything in him not to burst out laughing.
Look, Kendall was a good dude. Smart, quietly generous. He’d hooked Greg up with an apartment, trusted him enough to help bring down the old regime at Waystar, had even promised him an office on the executive floor, when all was said and done. But he was also… kind of clueless in some respects.
One of two possibilities here: either Greg was believably straight-passing, or his cousin had no idea that gay people existed. As, like, fully-realized human beings, and not just as characters in a film screened at Sundance.
But Greg didn’t feel like having that conversation in the middle of the afternoon in a glass-walled conference room at their crisis manager’s office, apt as the setting might be. So he just shrugged.
“Oh, I don’t know,” he said, and Kendall gave him an almost pitying look. “We’re just friends.”
He liked Comfry. She was, for lack of a better word, normal. Didn’t live and breathe her job, didn’t want to talk strategy over drinks. She had a dry wit, only smiled if she genuinely thought something was amusing, so every single one that Greg earned felt like a tiny victory. It was kind of nice hanging out with someone who wanted to get to know him as a person, instead of, like, trying to suss out his motives or dump incriminating evidence in his lap. And she wasn’t family, so.
Just a few of the advantages that Comfry had over Tom, who was the second-closest thing that Greg had to a friend in this city. That, and he didn’t have a highly inconvenient and pathetic crush on her.
So, yeah. Maybe Greg wasn’t bothered by the fact that he was single, but the fact that he was pining for his cousin’s estranged husband? That bothered him a little.
“Fair enough,” Kendall said, lifting a hand in surrender. “But you’re a fucking titan of industry now, man. Might as well start acting like it. Carpe diem, you know? Spoils of war. Take what you want.”
“Oh. Uh, right. Much—much to consider.”
He told Comfry about it over drinks that night, and she laughed so hard she almost fell off her barstool.
“Tragic, really,” she said, once she’d recovered. “We could make a really hot couple. If you were about a foot shorter and, like, a girl? I’d be all over that.”
. . .
Greg didn’t really know how it happened, but it was a surprisingly short leap from drinking wine and listening to Comfry bitch about her Bumble matches to pulling up pictures of Tom Wambsgans on Google Images and scrolling through the search results on his phone while Comfry peered over his shoulder.
“So, this is your guy,” she said, and Greg looked at her. Comfry arched an eyebrow, bit back a smile. “See, when you said you were in love with an older guy, I guess I was picturing, like. Hugh Grant? Or someone devastatingly attractive. I don’t know, is Hugh Grant hot?”
“I never said I was in love with him,” Greg mumbled. He swiped along to the next picture, an older shot of Tom and Shiv at the RECNY gala. Comfry made a high-pitched noise, a squeal of amusement. “Shut up.”
“I mean, the tux helps a little,” Comfry mused. She reached for Greg’s phone and flipped through the search results, snorting at a screencap from the Brightstar hearing. “Hirsch, come on. He looks like a ventriloquist dummy.”
Greg snatched the phone out of her hands, scowling. “No, it’s just, like, really unflattering lighting.”
“Hey, look. I’m sure he’s… nice?”
“He’s not, actually,” Greg said. “Um, he’s kind of a dick. And he basically dragged me into a criminal conspiracy.”
Comfry pursed her lips. “Oh, honey.”
“But, like, if you knew him like I know him? You’d see that he’s a good dude. Like, deep down. Very deep down.” Greg stared at the sheen of flop sweat on Tom’s upper lip, the veins standing out in his temples. He tried not to blush. “Fuck, I don’t know. How do you even explain attraction, you know?”
“As your self-appointed crisis manager? This dude is a liability. Bad for your personal brand.” Comfry smirked. “But as your friend? And as someone who loves a mess? I say go for it.”
“Wow, thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” She poured out the rest of the Merlot into her glass and took a swig. “Oh, by the way, I charge by the hour for my consultations. But I hear you have deep pockets, so I’m not worried about payment.”
Greg snorted. “Yeah, okay.” He picked up the empty bottle from the coffee table and waved it at her. “More?”
“Obviously?”

Class Favorites: Rooting For Everybody Black! Year 2
Last year I went with Black People for my Artist Of The Year and I liked that idea so much that I brought something similar back for 2021. This is a playlist featuring all the songs by Black artists that will be on the official Akward Class Favorites 2021playlist, with a few other tracks by some of them mixed in. It’s a vibe, it’s a good time.
Disclaimer: Y’all know how it goes with bands and groups, so trust me when I say every band or group has Black People in it. That being said, the Eric Hutchinson track feels a little borderline, but his band has like 3 Black Jazz musicians in it and they’re all on the album cover, so they deserve love too, especially cause you can tell they really added that specific kind of soul to the mix.
_______________________________________________________________________
This is a rough mix that I tried order in a specific way, but at the end of the day it really just a vibe that starts with love of the Black body!

Specific Shoutout!
I just wanted to say how happy I am to see so many Black people in the Pop-Punk/Alternative music scene right now. I love the variety of this playlist so much and part of that comes from me being able to see US in what Spotify has declared my top genre of the year. I’m enjoying it now as an adult, but like I’ve said previously, this is what would have been so great for young Jai to see out in the mainstream back when she was in high school and middle school, so I’m hella happy that the alt Black kids today get to really see this. Also this is OUR music, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise or that you don’t belong!

TATMILB, CHAPTER 4
Penelope spent her life writing love letters, which didn’t seem like a terrible idea until the letters were mailed out and Schneider received one of them. Hoping to fool their exes, they agree to fake a relationship. But are they lying to everyone around them, or to themselves? aka my To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before-inspired AU.
Penelope x Schneider, ODAAT. available on ao3 with extra author’s notes.
Chapter 4: Ben comes to Penelope’s door bearing a letter. Penelope explains the situation to Schneider over ice cream. She scoffs at his proposal but can’t wave it away so easily once she’s alone with her thoughts.
Dear Ben,
It’s been a really long time since I felt the way I did when I was with you--I know talking about it makes me sound like a giddy teenager.
But in so many ways, that’s how you made me feel. I was full of lighthearted happiness, hormones and that need to know everything about somebody that only happens at the beginning of a relationship.
The story of how we met sounds like a movie: I poured my heart out to you, thinking you were gay and couldn’t possibly be interested in me, and you turned the tables by asking me out. A night full of self-loathing and guilt led to a moment where I felt really attractive. And considering how hard life had been lately, especially in the romance department, it meant a lot that you looked at me in my emotional half-drunk state and saw someone worth getting to know.
All of that makes how we ended worse. I’m sorry for what happened with Victor, for how easily and how quickly I became a cliche--the ex-wife who takes back her apologetic husband, who believes and trusts when she shouldn’t...who gives up a good man for a familiar one.
We had fun while it lasted, didn’t we? It’s the what-ifs that haunt me now. The possibilities. Maybe you would have gotten along well with my family, when it was time for you to meet them. Maybe you would have been a good husband someday.
I know I don’t have the right to hold on to you, to the idea of us, when there was barely an us in the first place. Some nights, though, I pull out that mental picture and let myself live inside for it a little while. I still feel happy there. I wonder if you do, too.
Love, Penelope
****
“Ben!”
Penelope steadied herself by gripping Schneider’s arm, which also helped to steady him as they wobbled in the doorway after their near-collision.
She saw the letter Ben was holding, on yellow paper she remembered too well, and offered him an overly-bright smile, aiming it like a shield. “We’re actually just on our way out. Gotta go get dessert for the family before there’s chaos, y’know?”
Her laugh was as forced as her smile, but she ignored the look Schneider gave her and hoped Ben would buy it. He didn’t know her nearly as well; not everyone had Schneider’s keen eye for her tells.
“This is Schneider,” she added, shutting the door behind the two of them. She kept her grip on his arm, pulling him past Ben.
“Yeah, hi,” Schneider said, with a facial expression that could best be described as ‘trying to do calculus in his head.’ Great, Penelope thought, now she would have even more to explain to him once they made it free of the building. And Ben.
“Listen, I don’t want to hold you up,” her ex said, lifting the letter to her eyeline. “I just wanted you to know that I got it, but that I’m actually--well, I’m engaged now.”
“Oh, wow! That’s amazing! Congratulations,” she said, shaking his hand and trying to hurry along as though that would be the end of that.
“Penelope.”
“Yeah?”
“I’m sorry. I really enjoyed the time we spent together too. And I did think about you--about us. For a while. That was such a long time ago, though, and where my life is at these days...I’m really happy. I hope you will be soon.”
The hint of pity she detected got her attitude up, but if she made a scene it might bring the family out into the hall, which was the last thing she needed to add to this insanity. She exhaled through her clenched teeth instead.
“Thanks Ben, I appreciate that. I’m glad things are going well for you.”
“Anyway, I wanted to give you this back. It doesn’t feel right keeping it, while I’m planning my wedding to somebody else.”
“Alright. We really gotta go, but I hope the wedding goes great and it doesn’t rain. Best of luck to you both!” she half-shouted as she sped down the stairwell, not bothering to look behind her. Schneider would catch up, and she needed Ben to stop treating her like a crazy woman who was still nursing a crush on him years after they went on a handful of dates.
Not that her behavior in the hall was likely to make her seem more sane.
Her cheeks were burning as she exited the building, and she wished the air outside were cool enough to settle her racing heart. There was no denying it now--all of her letters must have been sent, every single mortifying one of them. Her innermost thoughts and feelings, directed at men who were never supposed to read them. This was beyond terrible. This was a catastrophe. This was--
“Pen! Wait up!” Schneider let the exit door slam shut behind him, making short work of the distance between them on the way to her car. “You know, I can’t go with you to get ice cream if you leave without me.”
“I know. Sorry.”
The scoop shop was only a five minute drive from their building, but it was a deeply uncomfortable five minutes, with Schneider watching her from the passenger seat and Penelope stuck on the image of Ben and his pretty, sympathetic face handing her back old dreams on paper.
She hoped he really was blissfully happy with his new fiancée. She hoped they had a long and happy marriage.
She hoped she never had to see him again.
****
Schneider managed to hold back as they waited in line at the shop, but he was restless next to her, filled with anxiety and questions. Penelope wasn't exactly in a hurry to explain; her nerves mirrored his.
“Let’s just order ours, okay?” She said before they approached the counter. “We can talk while we eat it, then get the rest to go after.”
Schneider nodded. “Sure. Whatever you want.” He ordered an oversized monstrosity, filled with a jumble of flavors and toppings that Penelope eyed with suspicion.
She got cherry gelato and frowned when he paid for them both, but didn’t bother arguing. She was the one who caused this whole mess--there wasn’t much point to starting a fight on top of it.
Schneider sat down across a corner table from her and made no move to touch his dessert. “Listen, Penelope, I’ve tried not to push. I kept quiet through dinner, I didn’t corner you in a moving vehicle, but I’m kinda out of patience now. What was that back there?”
“At...the hospital?”
It was stupid to try and buy herself more time. She wasn’t sure why she felt so nervous to talk to him--this was Schneider. He always understood even her craziest moments. Yet there she was, still stalling. Keep on digging that hole, Penelope.
“Yes, at the hospital, when you kissed me!” The last part came out louder than he’d intended, and Schneider looked around like they might be under surveillance, before continuing.
“What was that about?” he pressed. “I thought that I was pretty clear about where I stood, and then you kissed me anyway. No means no, Penelope!”
“Yes...you’re right.”
When he put it like that, she felt even worse than just embarrassed. If she found out Alex was going around kissing girls who told him they weren’t interested, she would be so pissed at him. She would read him the riot act. What could she possibly say to defend herself to the one man who understood that better than anybody-- who knew her behavior totally contradicted what she believed in?
“Sorry.” She watched her gelato melting in its little cup, swirling it with her spoon. “You’re right, there’s no excuse.”
“I don’t want an excuse--though the apology’s appreciated. I want an explanation. It doesn’t make any sense, what you did. And you always make sense. Come on, talk to me.”
“I don’t have a good explanation.” She sighed, trying her gelato before it was completely liquid. It didn’t taste as good as it would on a day when her life wasn’t unraveling. “It was out of character. No argument there. It just sort of happened.”
“But why?”
“You’re going to think I’m crazy,” she warned him, resigned to the fact that she couldn’t avoid this forever. He practically lived in their pockets--she couldn’t avoid him in general.
“You just made out with me,” he shot back. “I already know you’re crazy.”
“It was one kiss! I did not make out with you.” She dug into her gelato more emphatically, letting him sit with his own melting dish for a minute, almost as annoyed at Schneider as she was at herself for ending up here.
“That letter that you got from me, it wasn’t the only one I wrote.”
“Okay.” He blinked, taking that in. “You’re in love with people besides me?”
“I’m not in love with anybody, you dope. And I didn’t send you that letter.”
“I’m confused.”
“I write letters. I always have. To process stuff, get my thoughts out. I didn’t have therapy, you know, before the last few years. And between my mom, and the Army, and Victor...I had a lot of stuff to deal with. I’ve never been a diary person, but when things got really intense, I would write...”
“Love letters.”
“Yeah.”
He nodded as he dug into his ice cream, listening intently now. Schneider was good at that, even when he was visibly baffled--like he seemed now.
“I used to write other letters too, when I was a kid, letters to my parents when I was upset or frustrated with them. But I never held on to those ones--I had this feeling that no matter how well I hid them, Mami would find them, so I always trashed those. It helped enough, writing them.”
“When it comes to Lydia, I think your paranoia was probably well-founded.”
There was a hint of a smile teasing the corners of his mouth now, fondness not just for her mom but for Penelope. The wave of relief that flooded her settled some of her anxiety. Kissing him had been dumb and desperate, but she didn’t want it to ruin their friendship.
One kiss couldn’t do that, right?
He pointed his spoon at her gelato, a silent request. She nodded, passing him her spoon for a taste. She hadn’t really been in the mood for ice cream to begin with; she’d just wanted a place away from home for this confession.
“So, yeah, I write letters sometimes. Not all that often, because I was with Victor for most of my life. There haven’t been that many guys. But when I needed to put those feelings somewhere, I wrote them down and tucked them in my favorite duffel.”
She took her spoon back and gestured with it. “Over the years, I wrote five letters, including yours. And somehow they disappeared along with my duffel bag. The letters got sent out. I realized it when I saw you and Max.”
“And Ben,” Schneider added, putting the pieces together. “So, if that makes three, is the fourth Victor?”
“Oh, god.” She knew, of course she knew, exactly who she’d written her letters to. But she was so busy fighting the initial panic, she hadn’t thought about Victor yet. “Yes, I wrote to Victor. A couple of times. Ay dios mío, I hope that one gets shredded in the mail. I cannot deal with that right now.”
Schneider was lost in thought for a while, long enough that she took her cup to the trash. “Who’s the last one?” he asked when she sat back down.
“Huh?”
“I’ve known you since you and Victor separated. After Victor, there was Ben, then Max, then I guess you wrote my letter, since it was after Lydia’s hospital stay. I can’t think of anybody else you dated. Did you have a secret lover?”
He looked intrigued by the possibility. She swatted him lightly on the arm. “Don’t be so dramatic. You sound like my mom. The other letter was my first big crush, back in high school, a boy named Joe.”
She reached for his spoon and Schneider let her, bemused. He knew she usually hated his topping combinations. She just needed a second to gather her nerve again.
“I really am sorry,” she tried to explain, more carefully this time. “For kissing you like that. And for you ever seeing that letter. I was busy trying to figure out how it was possible, and then I saw Max coming, with a letter in his hand too, and I knew what it had to mean. I haven’t spoken to him since we broke up, my head was reeling--I couldn’t imagine explaining to him why he was getting a love letter from me a year later. I panicked.”
Risking a look at him before pinning her gaze back to the table, she continued. “It hit me that if he saw us kiss, he might assume we were a couple and be thrown off enough that I would have time to regroup. We could pretend the letters never happened.”
Schneider’s face was unreadable now. When she gave his spoon back, he didn’t go back to eating, just kept watching her.
“It’s not logical, I get that, but like I said, I panicked. And I know it was wrong of me to pull you into this, but I really would like to pretend the letters never happened, if we could. Especially yours.”
“Yeah?”
She ran the risk of offending him--she was aware of that--but their friendship was too important for her not to fight for it. She couldn’t tell what Schneider was thinking, though. That same perfectly blank expression stayed in place. At least he hadn’t left the shop yet, Penelope reminded herself. He was still giving her a chance.
“Yes. I was in a terrible place when I wrote your letter, Schneider. It was a few months after Mami’s stroke, after giving up Max had me convinced I’d lost my chance at love, and I was so lonely and scared and sad. About all of that.
“And there you were, so present and kind...and, well, loving. All the time. You were the one person I knew I could count on and we spent all those nights together. No matter how rough the day had been with the kids or at the hospital, you would find a way to make me laugh. Remember?”
“Of course.” His face was still guarded, but his voice had that comforting softness to it. That tone that meant he was ready to help. The voice of her best friend.
“I was vulnerable then, and I wrote it all down, because it had to go somewhere. It took me a while to step back from that place, to get back to feeling stable on my own even when you weren’t around. And once I had that distance, that balance back, I could see clearly again. I was never in love with you, not really. I mixed up how much I care about you as part of my family, as my best friend, with love. I mixed up how good you were to me with the idea that we would be good together.
“Once everything was okay again I felt like an idiot about it, and I was so glad I never said anything. I don’t want to lose you. And I never would’ve sent that letter as some attempt to awkwardly hit on you. I’m mortified to even be talking about it now. So, could we just move on? Like this was a weird day but we both agree it was a fluke and laugh it off?”
“Sure, sure, sure,” Schneider agreed, clearing his throat. “But what about the other letters?”
“What about them?”
“If Max’s letter is like mine, a love letter with no extra context, then are you going to have to do this all over again? Tell him you’re not still in love with him?”
“I-I don’t know. I’m really hoping it won’t come to that.”
“Because he saw us kiss and that’s a magic barrier to all future confrontation...or because you can’t honestly tell him that?”
He knew her too well, Penelope thought. And she’d had to share enough deep emotional truths for one day.
“Wow, look at the time,” she said, standing and nodding toward to the front counter. “If we don’t get the rest of the treats and head back, they’re gonna think we lied about the whole dessert run.”
She put in the requests that she knew her Mami and Alex would want and moved down to the other end of the counter. Schneider followed, clearing his throat again.
“What is it?”
“Speaking of lying, I just got a text from Nikki about our kiss.”
“What? How does Nikki know?”
“One of her friends saw us in the parking lot, I guess. Nikki’s super pissed.”
“Have fun with that.” She shook her head. “Luckily for me, I only have to see Nikki at school functions and some of Alex’s games. You’re the one who decided to hook up with her.”
“She’s pissed in a jealous way,” Schneider added thoughtfully.
“I’m shocked.”
“Hey, Pen. Hear me out: what if we kept up the lie for a while?”
“As in, the lie where I kissed you and you freaked out about it?”
“My freakout was in response to your freakout. Glass houses, Penelope. But yeah, the kissing. The public display of affection, emphasis on public. It got Nikki’s attention, and I wasn’t even trying to do that. If seeing me with you makes her realize she misses what we had, maybe we could stop this vicious cycle of breaking up all the time.”
“You want to pretend to be into each other just so you can get back with Nikki? Gross. No way I’m volunteering to be used for that.”
“Hey, you used me first--and I didn’t volunteer.”
An aproned employee passed her the sack of ice cream and Penelope walked out ahead of him.
“It would solve your problem too,” Schneider suggested. “Isn’t that why you kissed me in the first place, to make it seem like you were taken?”
“I was temporarily insane,” she insisted. “What’s your excuse?”
“I’m just saying we could both get what we want. Think about it,” Schneider added before mercifully dropping the subject as they made it home.
She ignored Schneider for the rest of the evening, as best she could, until he headed back to his own apartment. If her mom or Alex wondered what took them so long--or why they ate their dessert on the way--neither of them asked.
****
Penelope was in her bedroom, finally able to take a moment to decompress from the chaos of her life, before it occurred to her to check her phone. She fought so hard to keep Alex off his at the dinner table; it helped a little when she set a good example.
“Three missed calls,” she told her empty room, staring down at the name next to all three of them.
“Yep, and you didn’t pick up even once.”
The day had clearly been too much for her, if her imagination was so easily manifesting Max there next to her bed. She closed her eyes for a moment and reopened them, only to find the illusion of him still watching her.
“You can’t call a guy back anymore? Especially after you ditch him in a public place? That’s not like you, Penelope.”
“I’ve been hearing that a lot lately.”
Okay, so she was hallucinating. Not a big deal. She was stressed out and had him on the brain, especially now.
“Got your letter,” Max said, smiling down at her where she sat. “Of course, you know that already. It’s why you’re avoiding me. How long do you think you can keep that up?”
“I have no idea. How long do you think you’ll keep trying to confront me with it?”
“Don’t ask me. I’m in your head--what do I know. If you want real answers, you should give me a call.”
“Can’t say I like that idea very much.”
“Yeah. If we talk, you’re going to have to answer my questions. Why did you send the letter, why did you write the letter, did you mean what you said.”
She swallowed hard, staring into Max’s warm eyes. What would she say, when she had to explain it all to him?
“Do you still...love me. That’s the million dollar follow up, right? That’s the one that counts.”
“I’m not ready to explain any of it,” she admitted. “I’m not ready to tell you how I feel. I’m not sure I know, myself.”
“Then you know what you have to do,” Schneider told her, popping up in the dark space where Max had been standing moments before. “Get your cover story on, chica.”
“God, don’t call me that. Don’t call anybody that.”
“All I’m saying is, you can’t avoid Max forever, right? There’s a solution staring you right in the face. What are best friends for, if not to act as a human wall between you and your relationship issues?”
Penelope frowned, trying to find a counterargument.
“Hey, if you’ve got a better idea, then go ahead...tell me no. A backup plan? Anything?”
“I’m thinking.”
“No, you’re stalling. And the clock is ticking on that strategy. But my plan, it can last as long as we need it to. Until you figure out what you want to do--with Max, Victor, all of them. We can be each other’s wingman and cover story at the same time, Pen. You help me, I help you...everybody wins.”
“Aaagh.” Penelope groaned, gripping hold of her hair for a second. When she lifted her head back up from her hands, she was alone in her room.
She didn’t know if Schneider’s idea was a brilliant one, or a terrible one. But at this point, it might be her best chance to save her sanity.
That was reason enough to consider it.

As I saw your answer about video directors crushing over Till ,I also remembered about Jens Koch. Except he's crushing over all of them haha. He's so precious! What's your opinion on him? Do you think any of the boys are crushing back on him? I imagine Paul smacking that ass daily,as he's walkin by lol
Going off what little I know about him, I adore Jens. I think they all do, and he certainly fancies all of them.
I really love how openly he's enamoured and I'm sure, in the nicest way possible, that the boys mess with him and joke about it. Nothing wrong with a little crush, especially since he does his actual job very well, and the way they've all joked about the possibility of them being open to m/m relationships/sex (Schneider and Paul have both said 'we aren't right now but who knows, we could be at some point, why not?', Richard says handjob things and jokes about Grindr, Till implies things just constantly, especially concerning Peter T) certainly implies they wouldn't be weird about the concept of a man fancying them. Just a little bit of joking around when they're posing for photos and making him blush.
Sometimes I wonder if Jens influenced some of the gayer decisions they made last year. He does clearly ship them at least a little, and as an adult that isn't straight he's probably mentioned some issues at some point, if Till isn't already fully aware (he's very connected with Russia, probably has looked into the Chechnya camps, and likely has gay/bi friends there which means he'd hear about what they have to deal with)
Jens discussing the upcoming stadium tour with the boys: 'Hey, guys, wouldn't it be cool if you kissed at the end of ausländer to... Uh... To show solidarity with LGBTQ people? Especially in Russia where it's a massive issue right now, yeah, that's a good exc— that's a good idea the fans will be so grateful for your support!'

Also he's a good photographer. I hope they keep working with him for that reason alone, but this other stuff helps.

Völkerball liveblogging
Dear lord this took me so long to edit you better appreciate it
Reise reise
Oooo~ but I still like the Hellfest version more :)) (Till’s face during the Hellfest chorus will always be my sexuality)
Schneider’s costume is fabulous but I’ll never trust those curls
Also vampire Reesh that’s a good look
Asdfghjklthe vagina entrance XDDD they really had to
Hello nice legs
I’ve watched this only once because i don’t like the sound. Someone said Till was sick and I don’t know what actually happened but his voice kinda sounds like it, especially more towards the middle of the live.
But the chorus is still so nice~
The tongue via Till’s fucked up slut face
Olli’s really serious
"Ist kein Licht am Horizont" REESH DO YOU WANNA KILL ME?? That was one sexy face
I really love Till’s expressions i want to kiss his face
The eyes! And then looking up to the sky<3 (was there even a sky or was inside I didn’t even notice XD)
I really don’t like Paul and Flake’s costumes
Fucking god that entrance is craking me up
Links 234
Hei hei hei!
I love how they all march on the stage
Bwhbwbwhwbhwbwhw XD
That’s a nice middle to wrap your hands around, mr Lindemann
I love when he’s hittig his chest on “links”
THE FANGS
Paul means business XD
You can’t not sing with them during links
Oh the solo<3 sounds so nice live
Thank god my favourite person from this stupid band is also the one most filmes otherwise I would’ve been in trouble
Dem boobs XD
Keine lust
I thought it was Sonne for one sec
He kicked the mic stand XD
Now you can hear he’s a little raspy
Yes Till we know the lyrics’ meaning and also that you’re horny
The chorus sounds nice again, it sounds better when he’s actually siniging vs talking
Who’s foamning at the mouth over that patch of skin under his pants, I’ve seen people talk about that (unfortunately it’s doing nothing for me)
"kaaaalt. Soo kaaaalt" I’ll keep you warm bby just don’t be sad T_T
Ok but Flake’s headpiece is actually hilariuous gotta admit
I really want to kiss Till *opening his mouth like a retarded owl* I don’t think I want anymore
Feuer frei
That was his I’m ready to slut pose XD
DONT HIT YOURSELF YOU DUMB BABY
Ooooooh Olli got shirtless (what were they calling this?)
I really like RZK’s top
Of course he’s gotta bully Flake
Chumby
I’m really trying to focus more on image but the voice is such a big thing for me and it’s clear he has something
The masks!! I love those so much
„Jaaaa”
Wow Schneider’s drumsticks went out with a literal bang
Asche zu Asche
4 lines later I finally realised what song is >.< and only because Till began to sing...
DID YOU SEE WHAT HE WAS DOING WITH THOSE DRUMSTICKS?!? I knew why I had a thing for hands/fingers
Asdfghjkl Richard strutting down the stage with his little red stripe<3
He’s a moody goth and I love his look did he just put his hands on his hips? XD
Till’s cheeks! I want to pinch his face
Everyone’s favourite part and THE NECK TILT ok wow now that was hot
Tho I usually preffer the “In zehn Tagen” to RZK’s “Ich komm wieder” now it was the opposite (probably because I couldn’t see Till that well) and Reesh acting all sexy was definitely improving it
Go Flake go XD he’s so serious and by the end he’s having the time of his life meanwhile Till is having an existential crisis (another)
Olli’s abs are heeeeella nice
Till with his hand over his heart didn’t help his case
Yeah Richard ok you’re sexy i get it holly fuck I’ve never been more attracted to him
And now i’ll never be able to unsee the neck tilt
That ich kom wieder just unmade me
Morgenstern
Bath time XD
I really like when Till slicks his hair back
Dear lord the chorus thank you for your voice sir and congrats on it
I really like the general image of a bassist playing their bass (other verb I could’ve used was fingering XD that’s literally what he’s doing!!)
Ooooh the keyboards sound so nice<3
DON’T pluck your eyes out!
The fire part is really impressive
I love then Richard is doign his gay boy pose XD and then the closeup on him while bobbing his head
I need to say once again the chorus sounds wundershon
Mein Teil
The first 2 seconds I thought it was MHB
Paul and Richard walking towards each other<3
Aaaand the epicness begins!
Schneider is fabulous behind his drums, can’t forget about him
YEET
The tongue’s is at it again
FLAKE POPING UP WITH THAT SMILE CRACKED ME UP you demented human
People are rocking the hell out this song
“durch Engelsscharen” Till’s expression<3
And the maddnes begins. Wow it was shorter than usual... obviously, it was at the beginning
Flake has such a special style of running I can’t XD
Stein um Stein
And everyone is gonna talk about him drawing a house xD it was cute (considering what the song is about)
You’re being a slut again
Aaaaah I want to complain about the playback but I really can’t I rather prefer him with vocal cords. At least the rest of the song sounded excelent!
The little sound at the end of „sein” and his face: childish enjoyment while talking about fucked up shit. If this doesn’t perfectly summarize Till then I don’t know what does
Schenider’s smile
No but really beside the screeching parts he sung it so well!
Were they trying to film Richards crotch? Whatever he’s sexy
Another reason why I watch this only once before was me being kind of meh regarding Till’s look he’s my favourite after all I gotta act the part
Los
My fucking god Scheider’s legs! I fucking love thighs. And he has a nice ass too
Richard’s smile!! Don’t kill me
Is it me or does Till start to stare into space and look generally Not Ok (tm)?
„fucking mickey mouse” XDDD
Los is among the last 10 songs on my list I usually just skip it
I died when I saw him with a harmonica the first time
Flake and Olli XD
Don’t manhandle poor Flake (I really want to say I wish that were me but knowing myself I would probably just deck Till in the face XD)
The sunglasses are sick
RZK and Till headbaning<3
Rip (rest in pieces) to keyboard
Du riechts so gut
THE BOW! The cute flamingo pose aside, that bow is one of my favourite pyro effects ever
And then the synchronised bodybanging<3
That „pang” never sounded so good?
WHY THE FUCK DID YOU EVEN MENTIONED THE NECK TILT REESH IS SO SEXY HERE I CAN’T EVEN
The deepest he sings the lees you hear the raspiness
Lord! The whole audience just fucking went for it
Schneider’s muscles, Richard’s little smirk and Till zombie 2.0
Even more bodybanging. Flake is enjoying himself
WHAT THE FUCK WHY ARE YOU SO PRETTY?!? (me to Richard)
Flake casually going back to his keyboards uthgjkhfzc that looked so cool and smooth
I promise I still drool over Till just... Richard is so prettily standing there! I cant ignore him!
The firesleeves are so cool and it looks so good, especially with them facing different ways
And freeze! Nice and dramatic
Till hammer time
That one guy really feeling the „DRSG” in the audience XD
Benzine
3 consecutive thought: it is Benzine fuck yeah, I can never tell if it’s Benzine or Keine Lust, Till’s terrified face
The most Rammstein song to ever Rammstein
Paul going wild XD but I still don’t like his hat
Flake is spazzing again
Du hast
Thank god I’m actually enjoying this song now, I skipped it for half a year
The drums and the beginning and the keyboards are <3
The tongue >w<
People are going wild
I like Richard’s dramatic gesturing. Pretty rockstar boy
The chorus sounds so good
Flake what is that on your head? XD is he a One Piece character?
Did he just casually shoved the mic into his pocket? XD
I much more preffer the newest effect from Paris onwards (which is also my top favourite)
Sehnsucht
This song has a very special and unique feel to it probably because it screams Live aus Berlin more than any other (and now I feel like watching LAB again)
It’s the chanting in the background probably
He’s sounding sick again :(
You have muscles in the arms (and probably legs too) and chumby in the belly it’s perfect
Lol @ Paul trying to look scary
„SEHNSUCHT!”
Ok Richard honey you can stop with the sexy neck tilt
He’s slapping the hell out of his guitar
Please stop pulling your hair out
Amerika
@Flake on that thing: wierd flex but ok
Sexy fishnet legs
Wow that’s a really soft and nice opening, pretty unexpected
LOL Flake taking off his hat like „sorry for your loss” but considering the song it’s expected from him XD
Beauatiful eyes<3
He’s just nyooming from one side of the stage to the other? XD
That eyeliner looks so fucking good on Till
Flake is suffering :)) (what the fuck was I talking about I can’t remember now that I’m editing)
Even Richard’s hair looks pretty! What the fuck??
The last scene with Schneider (and then his legs)
Rammstein
Those are some fucking guns he has right there
This is the most badass intrumental intro ever
“Scheeeeeein”
Oooooh so this is where that gif was coming from for some reason it thought it was Engel from MSG. Does this live even has Engel on it?
I love when drummers throw their sticks in the air and then catch them again
Ok the image of Till slowly backing off between Paul and Richard who were both vibing in their own way was really nice
Sonne
Schneider is enjoiying this isn’t he XD
For some reason this song doesn’t seem as energic as it usually is?
Was Till humping the mic stand? (more likely than you’d think)
Seing Flake and Till doing the hammer side by side is really funny, that’s some size difference
Ich will
Bye bye mic stand again
Till baby what did you do with your throat to make your voice sound like that?
Richard looking to the side during „ich will” hhhhhHhh
Let me slap that ass Till
I want to lick your face
Ohne dich
Ollie what are you doing
Asdfhjkl Flake comforting Till and the way he just rests his head on Flake’s shoulder is breaking my heart
Poor baby come here and let me love you
You can clearly see he’s trerrified
Lsnhxkvj his eyes<3
Nawwww they are kissing
I am silently thristing over Till don’t mind me
Please don’t cry T_T and then him looking over his bangs sfdghjkl
„is he... ya know” pose with a hand in the air Heirate mich style (aka Till Lehmann is a sub)
Look I know he’s suffering and all but I really can’t focus on that with all the water dripping off him
Stripped
No wonder I didn’t recognised the song it doensn’t even exist to me XD
Till pointing like „you. drop your panties. now” XD
I had half a mind to skip it but then I would have missed Till’s wonderful tongue performance
Was he flicking it to the rythm??
Hearing him sing in english is always so weird (I only recently rediscovered the gem the Children of the Sun is)
Richard what was that sexy face?
Ollie is braving the human seas, telepathy at its finest XD
Hmm that is a really nice lower back
Gangsta XD „how do you do fellow kids”
Paul is enjoying the show
Schneider has killer looks. Literally XD
YEET
Conclusions:
Half of it went really slow and then the other half went really fast? I don’t understand what happened
So this is the setting for Mit Dir Bin Ich Auch Allein... ok, good to know ;)
You sure this was a good idea 4 songs in and I already wrote 2 pages, now the total is at 6.
I’m not particulary fond of the looks and Till sounds sick so I usually avoid this live. Also some songs are weird with the energy so yeah
Richard is so pretty I can’t (and fucking hot how come I don’t remeber this??)

OFF-TOPIC: All the Rage
Tumblr media
Dave Chappelle has just released his latest stand-up special on Netflix, Sticks & Stones.  This stand-up special comes after four other comedy specials that have been beleaguered with criticism over Chappelle’s material about the LGBTQ+ community, particularly transgender people, and about the women who accused Louis CK of sexual misconduct.  And Sticks & Stones has attracted just as much controversy as any of Chappelle’s other Netflix specials if not more.
And that’s by design.
youtube
The special opens up with this quote from Kendrick Lamar’s “DNA”
Tell me somethin’ / You mothafuckas can’t tell me nothin’ / I’d rather die than to listen to you…
In Sticks & Stones, Dave Chappelle sets himself up as some kind of defiant martyr fighting the good fight against so-called “cancel culture” or any moral busybodies who get offended by any jokes he or any of his other comedian friends might have told at any point.  Many of those who express praise and enthusiasm towards Sticks & Stones defend it on similar grounds, writing off any criticism of it as people being “too sensitive”, “offended”, and “trying to cancel Dave Chappelle”.
Enough dancing around the subject.  I found the special really tired and juvenile.  What he’s doing here is thumbing his nose at any critic who had dared to take issue with anything he has said in his prior Netflix special in a way that eschews the thoughtfulness that Chappelle is capable of for petulance.  That might have been okay if it was funny regardless, but I didn’t think it was.  A better version of what Chappelle tried to do here was more than 30 years ago, in Eddie Murphy: Raw.  Eddie Murphy opened up this special complaining about criticism he got for his last special from Mr. T, Michael Jackson, and the gay community with much funnier jokes.  The crescendo of this bit was his brilliant story of Bill Cosby calling him on the phone to browbeat him about his foul language.
A bunch of the critics praising Sticks & Stones are calling it revelatory and a breath of fresh air in this moment of time.  Really?  All this is is Chappelle’s version of “PC gone mad” in response to criticism, which is not a novel concept.  Carlos Mencia’s whole shtick 15 years ago was to crack jokes using racial stereotypes and then spend the next ten minutes guilt tripping the audience into laughing by expressing faux-martyrdom aggrievement over “political correctness” or “sensitivity”.  This is as cliche a comedy staple as “take my wife, please”.  Other comedians who have gone this exact same angle include Jerry Seinfeld, Roseanne Barr, Larry the Cable Guy, Ricky Gervais, Bill Maher, Chris Rock, Andrew Dice Clay, Lil Duval, Jim Norton, Patrice O’Neal, Nick DaPaolo, Joe Rogan, Doug Stanhope, Rob Schneider, Lisa Lampanelli, Eddie Griffin, John Cleese, George Carlin, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, DL Hughley, Tracy Morgan, Adam Carolla, Amy Schumer, Tim Allen, Aries Spears, Russell Peters, Redd Foxx, Dennis Miller, Mike Epps, Patton Oswalt, Jeff Dunham, Sam Kinison, and Louis CK just to name a few.
Despite this being a cliche, I think taking the angle Dave Chappelle took here is more expedient for himself than ever.  A part of the reason is because our society has become more politically polarizing than ever.  A lot of the discourse around Sticks & Stones falls along politically partisan lines (yes, I know that includes myself too).  Most of the people defending Dave Chappelle so ardently are right-wing pundits/publications like Breitbart, Dana Loesch, and Gavin McInnes and most of the people criticizing Chappelle are liberal/pro-LGBTQ+ publications.  Chappelle and his defenders are using this special as a denouncing of “cancel culture”.  I hate that term and I hate the framing around it even more because it’s so vaguely defined other than the fact that it’s nakedly partisan.  The screeds against “cancel culture” are not so subtle digs at the left and reinforce a narrative that the left wants to censor everything and that the right are the true defenders of free speech and free expression.  It’s weird that the “cancel culture” designation never applies when the right-wing gets upset about Nike, Gillette, or Keurig coffee makers.
I think a better name for all of this is “outrage culture” and it’s nonpartisan.  So much of our public discourse is handled on social media, particularly Twitter, that rewards shorter and more attention-grabbing hot takes over lengthy, nuanced analysis.  And one of the easiest ways to grab attention is by being outrageous or inflammatory.  In response, online publications of all political stripes write their headlines in inflammatory ways that grab attention in order to be shared on social media.  Even if the actual article has more nuance to it, most people don’t read past the splashy headline anyway.  In regards to politics, it has further defined people, whatever their personal views may be, in reaction to what they aren’t or what they disagree with.  It’s partially why so many people have blamed things like the 2016 Ghostbusters film or Star Wars: The Last Jedi as the reason they voted for Trump or why they’ll vote for Trump again.  It’s also why so many of the people praising Sticks & Stones so zealously have attempted to use it as a rallying cry for Trump and Trumpism.  This also goes for any liberals who expressed a desire to buy Nikes or Gillette razors after the right-wing meltdown over them.
Sticks & Stones was a rallying cry to anybody that has defined themselves or their politics to being anti-politically correct (which isn’t only right-wingers, but largely encompasses right-wingers) to look to Dave Chappelle as a hero to wrap themselves around.  I felt the same way about Louis CK’s stand-up “comeback” where he mocked school shooting survivors, millenials, and non-binary kids.  CK was hugely popular on college campuses and liberal crowds despite never being “politically correct”.  He was also often very thoughtful in the way he towed that fine line when tackling touchy subjects.  But in light of his sexual misconduct scandal, he must have figured that he permanently burned a bridge with that crowd so he pivoted to a crowd that doesn’t care that he sexually harassed multiple women.  This same crowd also tends not to think too highly of the Parkland shooting survivors for their gun control activism or trans and non-binary people.
The thing is, Dave Chappelle and Louis CK don’t give a damn about any of these right-wingers or their pro-Trump causes.  They’re just looking out for number one.  Breitbart wouldn’t write fawning articles about Chappelle if the focus was on him expressing discomfort over a white person’s laughter over a blackface sketch he was doing on his show.  They wouldn’t rally around Louis CK either if he was still telling jokes expressing confusion as to why women would want to date men based off violence against women statistics.  Conversely, Nike and Gillette don’t actually give a damn about putting an end to police brutality or toxic masculinity.  If they were to discover that they could make more money off of using “Blue Lives Matter” sentiment or objectifying women, they would do it in a heartbeat.  This is all this whole shit is.
I suppose that’s ultimately the joke in all of this.  I don’t find it very funny, but I suppose I’m just too sensitive, right?

One Lie at a Time
y/n’s POV
I was in the Alvarez apartment helping Alex with homework.
All of a sudden, Lydia ripped open her curtain to reveal herself in a beautiful gown.
"Okay, queridos, your abuelita is going to church!" She said
"Vete con Dios, Abuelita." Alex said
"Shh! I'm watching Buffy!" Elena said
"I love you, papito. Ay and you too little one. Bye Elena." Lydia said
She walked out the door.
___________
Alex and I watched Elena's TV show over her shoulder.
"What's so great about Buffy? It's just a vampire show." I said2
"Well, it's an allegory for how strong women are in constant battle with an oppressive, bloodsucking, male-dominated society." Elena said
"Woah! Buffy's hot." Alex said
I smacked him on the arm
"I know, right?" Elena said
Her cell dinged
"Oh, no." She said
"What?" Me and Alex asked
"It's a text from the guy I asked to be my quinces escort. He said yes. This is a disaster!" Elena said
"Yeah, for him." Alex said
"No, for me. My whole plan to get Abuelita off my back was to ask a popular guy who would never do it. He rejects me, I full on fake cry, Abuelita feels guilty, and boom.. I escape the patriarchal tradition of having to be escorted to my quinces, and instead grow out my uni brow and read a poem about Frida Kahlo." Elena said
"Brutal?" I said confused
"Do I have to come to your quinces?" Alex asked just as worried
She glared at us
"Who's the guy?" I asked
"Josh Flores." She said
"Josh Flores? He's like the star of the baseball team. He should be dating a hot girl who got held back a grade, not you." Alex said
"Rude." I said
Her cell phone dinged again
"Oh, and now he says I'm cute? What?" She said
"So are you gonna tell Josh that you're not into boys? You know, that way?" Alex asked
"Well, all I said is I might be into girls. But I probably like boys, too. I don't know." She said
"Huh?" Alex asked
"Well, it's like.. I've never tried broccoli. So I can't say for sure that I don't like broccoli." She said
"We had broccoli last night for dinner." Alex said
I laughed
"It's a metaphor, Alex." I said
"Broccoli means boys." Elena said
"Oh, I see... but it's not like you tried girls before either. Sorry, I mean... I guess, cauliflower?" Alex said
"That's because cauliflower is a lot harder to find. I mean, how many girls do you know that like cauliflower?" She asked
"None. Although, Finn is pretty sure Denise Falto does because she didn't want his skittles." Alex said
Elena looked at him horrified
"Skittles just means skittles." I said assuring her
"Well, let's just say I'm open to trying broccoli. I mean, Im not gonna go out and buy broccoli, but if broccoli falls on my plate —" She said
"Stop. I don't want to know what your plate is." Alex said
She picked up her phone and started texting
"What are you doing?" I asked
"I told Josh to come over." She said
"What? Josh Flores is coming over? But I haven't showered." Alex said
"I can tell." I said
He glared at me
"What to wear, what to wear..." He said freaking out
"Yep, you two are not going to be here. You two, are going to Schneider's." Elena said
"Ooh, you're gonna have a boy over here alone?" I asked
"Yeah, you know, maybe it'll be great, maybe it'll be terrible. But either way, you won't be here." She said pushing us out
"Okay! But at least mention me to Josh. Tell him I'm awesome. No, No, too strong. Tell him I'm rad." Alex said
She sighed and shut the door.
_____________
I was sitting on Schneider's couch while Alex did homework.
"Hey, Schneider, can I use your laptop?" Alex asked
"Yeah, sure thing, man." He said from another room "You need to research something? Maybe I can help."
"I'm trying to get information on lesbians. Oh, wow. I just typed in les and it filled in bians. And then a lot of other stuff." Alex said
Schneider ran in and shut the computer
"Gross." I said
"Yeah, let's shut that for now." He said
"Or forever." I said
"Why do you need info on lesbians? Don't get me wrong I understand the curiosity, but..I'm not sure you should be doing that." Schneider said as they came and sat on the couch with me
"I'm just trying to find out if they also like guys." Alex said
"You have stumbled onto a real eternal question, buddy. But probably not something I should talk to you about without your mom's permission. And just thinking ahead, I don't think she's gonna give permission. What, are you worried about something?" He asked
"I'm just confused because Elena said she might like this dude, Josh." Alex said
"So?" Schneider said
"So...nothing." I said
"Wait a minute. Alex, are you saying Elena might be gay?" He asked
"Uh...no." We both said
"Because its a secret." Alex said
"Whoa." Schneider said
"She just said she might like girls, but she might like guys, too." I said
"Don't worry. We already had the broccoli cauliflower conversation." Alex said
I rolled my eyes
"That's smart. What did your mom say?" He asked
"She doesn't know. Nobody knows. Except y/n. You can't say anything. Elena will kill me." Alex said
"Okay, don't worry. I won't. Even though I have so many question." He said
I rolled my eyes and got up to go to the bathroom.
__________
When I can back, Alex and Schneider were walking out the door.
I shrugged and followed them.
___________
We bust in to see Josh and Elena making out.
"Okay! Hands off her! I am the go to make authority figure here. And I am shutting this unauthorized party down." Schneider said
"Sorry. Sorry. Sorry, sir." Josh said
"You were right. He is super cool." Schneider said to us
"Alex, you told Schneider?" Elena asked
"Oh, Hey, Josh. Alex Alvarez. Sorry, I'm a mess. I woke up with flat hair. You know how it is. Sup?" Alex said
"Wow, That was embarrassing." I said
"Okay, Elena, I'm sorry. But, dude, I don't think you're supposed to be here without a parent around." Schneider said
"I totally get it. I'll go. I'll text you later." Josh said leaving
"Alex, I can't believe you told on me!" Elena said
"And.. that my cue to go get food." I said walking into the kitchen.
___________
When I came back in, The whole family was there including Dr. B.
"Wow, what'd I miss?" I asked eating popcorn.
"How was you date, Mom?" Alex asked
"Hey, Alvarez, you left your phone in my car." Some lady said walking in
"Woah!" We all said
"This is your date?" Lydia asked
"So much to process today." Schneider said
"So much." Elena said
"Oh, honey, no, no, no. Your mom and I weren't on a date. I mean, she should be so lucky. We were just at therapy." The lady said
Everyone looked at her
"Um.. Therapy's the name of this new hot club. Fixed it. Bye, girl." The lady said leaving
"You were in therapy?" Lydia asked
"Okay.. Bye." I said walking into Alex's room.
_______________
Later, I was in Alex's room in his sweatshirt, with popcorn, watching tv.
Then, Alex walked in.
"Well, someone's comfortable. And taking my clothes." Alex said
"Oops?" I said laughing
"Whatever." He said sitting next to me
"Uh, why are you wearing Josh's letterman jacket?" I asked
"Because I look awesome." He said
"Sure." I said throwing popcorn at him
He threw some back at me and we got into a popcorn fight.1

The Pandora’s box chapter I
So this is it, I had to make my own Paulchard kiss fic as well even though there are several ones already. I had this idea for a long time and my head was almost like screaming for this to be written down, so here is the result.
Also, I had to break the promise with myself to make only fics with one chapter and I decided to separate this story in two - the two parts have quite different atmosphere and otherwise, it would have been super long.
Hopefully, you'll like my stupid jokes mixed with some fluff and even drama. The tension between Reesh and Paul is tightening!
The Stadium Tour is about to start and Till thinks they still need something to spice their show up a little – like a cherry on top. The perfect solution comes from an unexpected resource, leading into unexpected results.
One could even say that the Pandora's box will finally be opened.
Chapter I
Paul was awoken by distant chattering and panicking voices around. He opened his eyes slightly and saw blurry figures bustling around him.
What in the bloody hell is going on in here?
“Gott im Himmel, did he have an epilepsy attack or what happened? Shit, this is my fault, it was my idea in the first place…” Paul could hear Flake’s usually quiet voice, now loud and trembling.
“It’s nobody’s fault. We just have to make sure his okay,” Till interrupted the panicking keyboardist’s ramble. Of course, he was slightly alarmed as well, but he knew that in this kind of situation, it really didn’t help if everyone around you were being hysteric.
Even though Paul couldn’t see properly, he felt there was somebody holding his hand, stroking it softly at the same time. “I really don’t know what happened, we just have to wait…” the figure sobbed.
Paul got a bit annoyed about all of this. Why was everybody so upset about him suddenly? Without saying anything out loud, he decided he had to sit up. He wasn’t a cripple, for Christ’s sake.
But, his intentions were swiftly interrupted by strong arms.
“Let go of me!” he shouted and didn’t want to admit that moving had made him even dizzier.
“Shh, everything’s fine. You should rest now,” was the only answer he could hear from the same figure who had been holding his hand, now gently pushing him back to the floor.
Paul closed his eyes again and pressed his hand against his forehead. If he wouldn’t have had this terrible headache he would certainly have stood up and walked away from this - just like nothing had happened. “Okay, what’s going on in here?” He tried to pinch himself. Or am I dreaming?
Now, he finally saw that the person who had been next to him the whole time was Richard - his glossy eyes made Paul uneasy. “We…really don’t know, but thank God, you are awake again. We were so worried about you…everything happened so quickly, we didn’t know what we should do.”
Once again, a vague answer. “…okay? What’s going on in here and why are you looking like that?”
Paul tried to focus when his fellow guitarist looked at him straight in the eyes, his gorgeous face still fuzzy for him. “How much do you remember?” Richard’s voice sounded like it was coming from the distance even though they were so close to each other.
Paul tried his best to comprehend this all. “Well, something happened and suddenly, I’m on the floor and you all look like that. Please, can you just tell me, what this shit is all about. I’m sick of these unclear answers of yours.” He felt like the headache - which he’d had the whole day - was getting stronger when he tried to concentrate on thinking.
Till sat down next to them and sighed. “To make it short, you fainted while we were having a rehearsal.”
That sounded extraordinary. He had fainted before in school when he was an adolescent, but never as an adult. “But…why in the hell I’d faint in a rehearsal? Did something…unusual happen before?” Paul tried his best to recall but the incidents before were still so vague - and thinking still made his headache just worse.
All his fellow bandmates looked slightly awkward.
“Maybe Reesh could tell you it…more detailed,” Till managed to say finally.
It all originated from the day before when they’d had a meeting. Most of their upcoming spectacle was already planned - still, that infamous something was missing. Perhaps, some small details, or surprises.
“So, what do you think, should we…spice things up a bit?” Till asked while they were sitting around the round table which had become way too familiar for them during their rehearsals. Richard was yawning visibly - he thought that these meetings were the most boring parts of being a band. And in his opinion, the show was already great enough, so there was no point to add anything anymore.
“What do you mean?” Schneider asked.
“Something a bit unplanned, something which might shock the audience a bit - something political even, but not too much. I don’t know about you, but at least I don’t want to be in jail after our tour is finished.”
Everybody - expect for Richard, who was trying to annoy Paul by poking his toes under the table - tried to think something suitable.
“Hey, I have an idea!” Schneider yelled, and to Paul’s relief, his fellow guitarist stopped his aggravation finally.
“Okay, tell us,” Paul said and glanced his fellow grinning guitarist murderously.
“What if we dressed up as women? It was so much fun in earlier tours when I was Frau Schneider. This time, we all could come up with a female character for each other. I’m sure it would be a success!”
There was some amused snorting and slight giggling. Everybody knew that Schneider was fond of dressing up as a female, but he still didn’t have to suggest that every single time when they were thinking to add something new to their show.
Their singer was the only one who had the guts to say it out loud: “Schneider, even though you love it, dressing up as women is totally out of context. We already agreed that Bück dich is not included, and there are way too many costumes already, so I’m sorry to announce that Frau Schneider or any other female character is not gonna have her magical moment this time.”
Schneider pouted. “Yeah, every time when Till or Reesh has an idea, everybody agrees, but when I’m excited about something, you all think it’s Scheisse.”
“It’s nothing personal,” Till said with a sigh and tried to move the discussion to other subjects, before Richard would start his arguments against the drummer. “Okay, does somebody else have anything in mind?”
After another silent moment, unexpectedly, Flake raised his hand, his eyes fixed on the table. He was so shy and reserved that he always felt uneasy when everybody’s attention was at him. “I-I might have an idea, if it’s ok to tell it.”
“Of course,” rest of his bandmembers said all together. They still didn’t understand, why Flake always had to ask for permission when he wanted to express his ideas and opinions. He was part of the family as much as everyone else.
The keyboardist stood up and started his speech: “Well, in the era of gay rights, I was thinking that we could…well, this is perhaps a stupid idea, but--” He froze for a moment, and Till smiled at him and gestured. “Carry on, it sounds very promising.”
Flake cleared his throat and tried to force a smile on his face. “We could…umm…wave the rainbow flag at some point…you know, for example, when we are boating through the audience. And also…I don’t know from where this came from, but…some of us could kiss each other.”
He could sense the atmosphere getting a tiny bit awkward - or the truth was that everybody was just trying to comprehend what they had just heard, it had nothing to do with Flake. “I…it might be a bit shocking for some people, but not too much, or at least I think so. Besides, it might raise some interesting reactions from the media. Definitely not everybody’s gonna like it, but we could ask ourselves, when our band hasn’t been controversial.”
When Flake stopped, he dared to look at his bandmates, but couldn’t read anything from their expressions. He suddenly started to panic and stuttered: “E-es t-tut mir l-leicht, it was a bad and b-boring idea…maybe Reesh or Paul has something better. I-I’m not good at this…”
Till raised his hand. “Stop it, Flake.” Then he stood up and approached the embarrassed man who was still in front of everyone. Till put his hands on his friend’s shoulders and slowly, a smile was curving on his face. “That’s…a brilliant idea! I’ve always thought that you really are a genius!” Then, to Flake’s horror, Till hugged him. Everybody else was nodding and showing their agreement as well.
“Have to admit, it’s a good idea…”
“Not bad at all…”
Till and Flake came back to the table, the latter man resembling a ghost. Usually, when people were ashamed they started blushing, while Flake always turned completely pale.
“I have to admit that’s a brilliant idea indeed,” Richard said. “So, who do you want to kiss, Flake?”
“I-I didn’t mean it should be me! I…was thinking that maybe someone else…” with better looks and more confidence, he almost added.
“C’mon Flake, it’s not so bad,” Paul tried to convince the keyboardist. “Besides, you can choose whoever you want from the most perfect alternatives of this universe.”
“The man has suffered enough,” Till said because he didn’t want Flake to be any more upset. “I have forced him to do Bück dich and I’m already gonna cook him in the show, so maybe someone else should sacrifice himself.”
“Besides, I don’t want to be involved in the fanfictions which might appear after the…incident, if we decide to include it in our show,” Flake added.
Everybody looked puzzled and Flake thought that maybe he just should shut himself up finally.
“What’s a…fanfiction?” Schneider asked, innocently.
Paul gave a laugh. “Seriously, do you live under a rock or something?”
“Well, I’m sorry that I have a life and I’m not spending all my precious free time stalking the Internet!”
Oliver, who hadn’t said anything yet, clarified their drummer’s question: “Fanfiction means stories from basically anything - or anyone - you can imagine. The writers choose characters from the media they want - for example, us - and write whatever they want. Somebody could write a story about us being vampires in a haunted medieval village or superhero cats in space for example.” Flake was totally relieved that he didn’t have to answer.
Schneider snorted. “But I don’t get it, who wants to make stories…about us? Somebody who doesn’t have any other life?” It was impossible for him trying to figure out, what kind of person would want to write a story about them and even enjoy it.
Richard looked at the distance with a dreamy look. “I definitely like the idea and I’m not against it if people are writing about me.” Then he turned back to Flake and asked: “Can you tell me, from where can I find these fanfictions or what were they called?” A sly smile was forming on his face before he continued: “And why do you know so much about them in the first place, may I ask?”
Flake was an old Star Trek and Star Wars fan, so that was why he knew quite much about Internet and fandom culture. But he didn’t want to it say out loud, that he’d been stalking Rammstein fanfiction as well - just for curiosity, of course. “Well, there’s a site called AO3, if you really want to check it out. But I’ll warn you beforehand, some of the stories are a bit…questionable.”
Richard raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by ‘questionable’?”
Just when Flake was about to answer, again, Oliver made it first: “They are, to be honest, usually pretty gay. Our fans are crazy, I can tell you. And if you want to be more entertained, just go to a site called Tumblr and put our band’s name in the search bar. You won’t be disappointed, I assure you.”
The newly learned facts just arose more interest in Richard. “That’s…fascinating,” he said and was about to start browsing his phone. This sounded way too juicy to skip. He could only wonder what kind of content there was about him on the Internet.
But before anything happened, Till took the phone from the guitarist’s hand and laughed out loud. “Guys, guys, seriously…just check your fanfictions, or whatever they are, later. Now we must concentrate on the show. Only a couple of weeks left, so we have to work hard to polish everything.”
“C’mon Till, you can’t say that you aren’t interested at all what our fans are writing about us!” Richard yelled while Till was busy hiding his phone.
“So, who wants to do the kissing? Any volunteers?” Till asked and didn’t mind about Richard’s piercing gaze. Their lead guitarist looked like a schoolkid whose dad had just taken his Gameboy away.
“So, you are not willing to do it?” Richard asked sarcastically.
“Well, if nobody else wants, I’m up for it, but I just wanted to be polite.”
Richard stood up and announced: “I’ll do it, if no one else wants.” The idea of being involved in fan stories was alluring indeed and besides, he liked to be the center of attention.
“Very well,” Till said.
“So, who am I gonna kiss?”
“You can choose yourself, of course.”
In his heart, Richard already knew the answer, but still, he tried to make the atmosphere tense and was acting like he had hard time choosing. “The one who will have the honor to be kissed by me, is…”
Richard looked one by one at all his familiar bandmembers gathered around the table. Flake was out of question. Oliver was like kissing a tablecloth, so not very tempting. Kissing Till was quite boring, and he was already busy enough on the stage. Schneider would have been a nice alternative, but he was behind the drums all the time, so it might be a bit difficult. That left him only one - and the best - alternative.
“…Paul,” he announced finally, smirking like an idiot to his fellow guitarist.
Till turned to Paul. How I am not surprised at all. “Is it okay for you? And of course, we can rehearse it and stuff, no worries about it.”
“Yeah, it’s…fine,” Paul answered, trying to sound cool even though he felt a bit unpleasant twitch in his stomach when he visualized the kissing with his fellow guitarist. Of course, they’d had that awkward semiromantic moment before when Richard had showed his outfits, but this time, it was going to be public, for thousands of people.
Richard winked to Paul. “So, when are we gonna rehearse this spectacular moment?”
The day was going to end soon, so to Paul’s relief, they didn’t have any time left. “Maybe tomorrow, I really have to get home soon.”
“So, tomorrow it is then. I cannot wait,” Richard whispered right in front of the other guitarist’s face.
Paul was now seriously thinking maybe he should stay at home tomorrow and lie that he has a stomach flu. Then, he wouldn’t have to come and they all could forget the idea.
