Mona:*writing*

Thud

Mona:Hmm? (Are those two sparring again? Guess it is about that time.)

Thud!

Mona:*whips head around* …… sigh

She runs over to her window and opens it to see Aether and Scara tumbling on the ground as they fought each other aggressively. Their close were very messy as was their skin lightly bruised.

The boys were so caught up in their brawl that they failed to notice her approaching. As Aether pinned Scara to the ground and reeled his fist back, both of the were splashed with water.

Mona:HEY! *holding towels*

Scara and Aether:*turns head*

Mona:Too rough. Stop fighting.

Scara:And what gives you the right right to break up training?

Aether:We’re fine!

Mona:Your nose is bleeding….

Scara:Awww she’s worried I might hurt you.

Mona:Aether can break you in two.

Scara:So you admit you do worry about me? That must be very hard for you~

She splashes water on him specifically. The boy scoffed while Aether got off of him. As they stood, still ready to tussle, Mona got in between them and shoved the towels in their faces.

Mona:You two are acting like energized dogs, and right in my backyard no less. What training draws real blood!?

Scara:He doesn’t go down easy.

Aether:And he enjoys a challenge. I was giving him one.

Mona:Now you’re sounding like him.

Aether:*takes Mona’s hat* Now I look more like him too.

Scara:Hmph! In your dreams.

Aether:More like nightmares.

Mona:Can you two behave for half an hour. I’m trying to finish my star chart.

Scara:And that’s important to me because…?

Mona:I’ll splash you again.

Scara:Don’t miss.

He puts his hands on her hips and gives his coy smiles that makes Mona squint, her tolerance for the brat being tested. Aether draped his arms over her shoulders, which made her glance at his cheeky smile.

Mona:Don’t act all innocent.

Aether:I’m not. I’m just smiling.

Mona:Well smile as you find a more productive way to tire yourselves out.

Aether and Scara:*get a little closer*

Mona:…Easy now….

Scara:You’re the one who called us dogs. We were just fine rough housing. But if you really think we need a chew toy…

Aether:It is a little suspicious The Great Astrologist Mona didn’t foresee this.

Mona:It’s hard to foresee anything when all I hear outside is chaos! I also stand by what I called you Scara, so behave.

Scara:Say that when your face isn’t red. It’s not like we can stop you from turning into water, and yet you’re still in between us instead of studying your stars.

Aether:Be nice.

Scara:That’s your job. Not mine.

Mona:I don’t know why I put up with you two sometimes.

Kokomi:*watching*….Nilou? Can I say something that you won’t repeat?

Nilou:Go ahead.

Kokomi:By no means am I jealous, but I am deadly curious about how Mona…handles her life at times. You two live in the same house as Mona. How do-

Nilou:I’m warned ahead of time. Though…there’s been close calls and such. *red* Can’t say I’m jealous, but I am thoroughly impressed. Now, can I say something you can’t repeat?

Kokomi:Yes?

Nilou:I would not be upset if Aether dated Kaveh.

Kokomi:Oh my goodness!

Nilou:What!? You have Gorou. Mona has Scara; apparently everyone dabbles in making sandwiches. Where’s mine!?

Kokomi:He could end up falling for a kind woman.

Nilou:Have you seen Candace!? I’d clap! I love all kinds of bread. I’m still between them.

Kokomi:I’m so glad we met.

A/N ➸ Some sweet thing I wrote while sleepy. A little story about how I think naming Wanderer would play out with Aether

─── ･｡ﾟ☆: *.☽ .* :☆ﾟ. ───

The Sanctuary of Surasthana falls silent, and each second feels like an eternity to the wanderer, subjected to the traveller’s new form of torture. His eye twitches as he hears the outlander announce his newest proposal.

“How about…” He says, furrowing his eyebrows (for dramatic effect, of course!) “Kunimitsu! Doesn’t it sound nice?” After suggesting the name, he taps Paimon’s head, whispering something that makes the fairy laugh.

The wanderer’s amused, the name isn’t so bad, he thinks. He’d never think the traveller would be good at this, even if he’d never admit it.

“Are you sure?” He asks, curious of what other ideas the blonde could think of.

“Yeah! I think it has a nice ring to it, do you like it?” The traveller beams, filled with excitement. Wanderer finds it amusing, how he treats this situation as if he was naming a stray cat.

“I… accept it” He answers, looking away “What about a nickname?” Kunimitsu asks, wanting to annoy the pixie floating beside Aether

“Uh… Paimon’s only good at ugly nicknames! If you want a serious one, then don’t ask Paimon!” She says, shaking her hands and floating higher into the air with each word

“Just as expected” Kunimitsu says to himself, turning around and ready to leave, until the Traveller’s voice interrupts him.

“Hey! If Paimon can’t think of a nickname, how about I give you one?” Aether offers, placing his hand on the other's shoulder. The wanderer is surprised by this action, but doesn’t let himself show it, he rolls his eyes and gives off a mean comment on Aether’s behaviour, but doesn’t stop it, waiting for what the outlander thinks of.

If he didn’t show his surprise before, he definitely does now, with Aether’s head on his shoulder, and his voice whispering in his ear, he’d never believe anyone if they ever told him the Traveller did this sort of thing often, and with former enemies, no less.

All his thinking stops when he notices a sudden chill in his head. His hat is gone. Aether is running away from him, and exiting the sanctuary, with Paimon behind him.

“You fucker! Give that back!” He shouts nonsense, starting to run after them, to be reduced to a childish chase, because of his hat…? He finds the act hummiliating.

Meanwhile, Nahida watches the scene unfold, stepping out of the sanctuary herself, smiling widely and saying “Well, seems like they get along!”
