Hey ghouls,
It's Monday again, which means it's time for our 4th and final cast announcement for season three.
May we present...
The inimitable Marnie Warner, who is back as Eulalie's sister, Parker. What would this haunting even be without the sibling drama?!! Marnie Warner is a Chicago based theater and voice actor. You can hear her in podcasts across all genres, including Hit the Bricks, H.G. Wells Has His Regrets, Morland P.I, Where the Stars Fell, and Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemanson. When not doing theater-type things, she’s probably reading, going out for breakfast, or looking at cats on the internet. For more information, visit her website at marniewarner.carrd.co/
Mihai Matei joins us this season as Cemetery Ghost and Poltergeist 4. Mihai is a London based VA whose hobbies include DnD, games and cycling. Find Mihai on Twitter @MihaiMateiVA
Natalie Hunter, returns as one of the voices of The Apartment! Natalie Hunter is a voice actor, singer, and screenwriter, and works as a research administrator by day. She is passionate about storytelling, the ocean, her cat Luna, and coffee. Find Natalie online at nataliehunter.carrd.co
Nick Mercer joins the haunting as FF House Ghost 1 and FF House. Nick Mercer is a voice actor and audiobook narrator with an incredibly versatile narration style, ranging from “friendly, positive guy next door” and “intelligent, articulate professional.” His background prior to voiceover includes Theatrical Performance, Music Production, Sales, and Education. Nick lives in North DFW with his beautiful – and genius – wife Corrie , their daughter Zoey, and their two dogs, Maisie and Loki. When he’s not firefighting or performing voiceovers, Nick loves watching anime, playing D&D, and platinuming FromSoft titles.  Find Nick online at NickMercerVO.com
Paul H. Rollins is back as Nick, the gruff brute-squad member of You Haint Seen Nothin' Yet. Paul is a musician, aerosol artist, and cat caretaker with a M.S. in Microbiology.
Ray O'Hare joins us this season as Bill, McMansion, and Longfellow's ghost. (Oooh, there's that morbid Victorian poetry, huh?) Ray has over 20 years of professional stage experience, and as a voice actor has appeared in video games, animation and audio drama. He lives in the Boston area with his wife and daughter, and past jobs include toy demonstrator for FAO Schwarz, historical reenactor, and graveyard tour guide.
Roanna Cruz joins us this season as Poltergeist 5! Roanna is a bilingual Filipino American voice actor based in Los Angeles. Whether it's a commercial, animation, game, or audio drama, she just loves collaborating on productions and having fun in the recording booth! To learn more about her, visit RCruzVO.com.
Sian Luxford joins us this season as Professor 1! Sian Luxford is an actor based in Sydney, Australia. Sneha Kumar joins us as E. Drawing Ghost 3 and the Airport Gate Attendant. Sneha Kumar is a voice actor who has been in the field since 2018. She is very excited to be a part of the cast and deliver a wonderful performance! Find Sneha online at https://skumarvoice30.wixsite.com/sneha-kumar
We're so delighted Tal Minear is returning as Myrtle, who's GOING to make the rest of You Haint Seen Nothin' Yet think about the consequences of their actions, dammit! Tal is a SoCal based voice actor, sound designer, and fiction podcast producer. They're the creator of Re: Dracula, Sidequesting, What Will Be Here?, and several other productions that can be found hiding under rugs and around corners. Tal can be heard in audio fiction shows such as Tales of the Echowood, Mayfair Watcher's Society, Deconstructive Criticism, and more. Find them online at talminear.com
Tarek Esaw joins the haunting this season as Poltergeist 3! Tarek Esaw is an Arkansas-based voice actor with a background in theatre. When they are not drowning in schoolwork or struggling at their 9-5, you can catch them at a D&D session or binging horror movies. Their voice can now be heard in the audiodramas Among the Stars and Bones as Hudson Desha, Tales From the Fringes of Reality as Sparrow, and the upcoming animated pilot Myths in Manhattan as both Julius and Pour. Find them on Twitter: @TarekEsawVO
Tim Lowe is back as our weird and wonderful radio host, Jon Harker, who, hmmm.... no.... spoilers. You'll just have to listen to find out. Tim is a podcaster and voice actor who has appeared in numerous shows. He regularly hosts Minds at Yeerk and has made several guest appearances on shows such as Judging Book Covers and Panelology. He has appeared in a variety of shows such as The Lafresian Chronicles, Tunnels, and Haunted Hell House of Horrors. He can be found on Twitter @Remobware which he will be more than happy to explain if you tweet at him.
Trenton Butt joins us this season as E. Drawing Ghost 1. Trenton Butt is a twenty-one year old voice actor, finishing their final year of college while also pursuing voiceover at the same time. They have been featured in various award-winning video games, indie animations, and trending podcasts, as well as being a published author. When not in the booth, they can be found either bothering their dog Letty, or playing video games. Find Trenton online at trentonbuttvoices.com
And that's it, folks. That's our slate of ghosts, ghouls, haunted humans, and show-within-a-show characters for season three.
I'm pretty sure this cast is the best one there is to be found in the void, and I can't wait to show you what we've created... sometime this month.
Yours ghoulishly,
Courtney

Bibhu Mohapatra: Heritage as the Foundation of Creativity
Bibhu Mohapatra, a celebrated fashion designer born in Rourkela, Odisha, has made a significant impact on the fashion scene in New York City. His exceptional design skills have adorned prominent personalities, including First Lady Michelle Obama and Jennifer Lepage. Mohapatra’s journey into fashion began with learning stitching from his mother, rooted in traditional methods. This connection to his heritage has deeply influenced his creative process, resulting in opulent and ultra-elegant designs recognized globally.
Tumblr media
Biography & Career Bibhu Mohapatra was born on June 7, 1922, in India. He pursued higher education at the University of Utah in the United States. In 2014, he married Robert Ronae Beard. Mohapatra’s professional journey in fashion began at J. Mendel, where he eventually left to establish his own label, the Purple Label. Since 2008, he has been offering stylish clothing, fine costumes, and accessories. His debut collection at New York Fashion Week in 2009 received high praise, and his luxury women’s ready-to-wear lines have since garnered attention worldwide, including cities like New York, Houston, Palm Beach, Mumbai, and Beijing. Mohapatra’s collections are available in various boutiques globally.
In 2021, Mohapatra’s Spring collection for the Met Gala drew inspiration from Amrita Sher-Gil, and his designs continue to reflect his unique blend of Indian heritage and modern aesthetics.
Collaborations and Collections Bibhu Mohapatra has been associated with Forevermark, a division of De Beers, since 2016. He launched a remarkable diamond jewelry collection that year, complementing his Fall-Winter 2019 collection showcased at New York Fashion Week. His first exclusive collection, “Artemis by Bibhu Mohapatra,” was followed by another De Beers collaboration in 2019, marking a decade of his influential presence in the fashion industry.
Inspiration from Heritage Mohapatra attributes much of his creative inspiration to his mother, Sashi. In an interview with Elle India, he shared, “For me, my first language or sensibility of colors and patterns came from my mother, Sashi.” Honoring her influence, he introduced a new line named “Sashi by Bibhu” in the winter of 2018/2019 at New York Fashion Week. This collection, running alongside his luxury lines, offers affordable designer clothing inspired by his mother’s legacy, featuring items like fluted skirts, silk blouses, cocktail dresses, and trousers. Mohapatra emphasized that the collection is a tribute to the powerful women in his life and aims to meet the practical needs of everyday fashion.
Charitable Works In his home state of Odisha, India, Mohapatra has supported traditional hand weavers by designing collections of hand-woven silk saris. He also co-founded the India Society in New York, which assists fashion and fine art students with internships and tutoring in universities across the U.S.
Honors and Awards In 2021, the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, invited Mohapatra to design costumes for their post-COVID reopening, honoring Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. He also served as the primary costume designer for Verdi’s opera Aida during the 2012 summer season at the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, New York.
Mohapatra’s accolades include the “Young Innovator Award” from the National Arts Club in 2010 and membership in the Council of Fashion Designers of America. His work has been featured in exhibitions such as “Surface” by SCAD Atlanta in 2010, and he was a finalist for the 2014 International Woolmark Prize.
Conclusion Bibhu Mohapatra’s motto, “creativity from the roots,” highlights his dedication to blending heritage with innovation. His success as a designer in New York City, while staying true to his Indian roots, serves as an inspiration to many. Mohapatra exemplifies how staying connected to one’s origins can foster humility and authenticity, making a lasting impact on the global fashion industry.

Meridian, Mississippi-born singer-songwriter Steve Forbert has been in my consciousness since the late ’70s, when my brother bought his first three albums and I loved Forbert’s 1979 hit “Romeo’s Tune” (from his second album Jackrabbit Slim). I didn’t bother buying any Forbert albums until about 2017, for whatever reason, and then late last year I decided out of the blue that I needed his brand-new album Moving through America. (I purchased that when this page was on hiatus, so there’s no post to link to.) I loved that album so much that my enthusiasm was running very high when I went to Milwaukee to see Forbert perform there on March 25 at the intimate venue Shank Hall. Forbert has done seemingly dozens of fan-club items and one-off tour releases, so I went to the gig ready to hit the merchandise table hard, and that’s what I did. I came away with the nine albums shown above, a mixture of those early reissues (the top three packages), a couple of oddball items in the middle there, and then the bottom four discs in the photo above are relatively new releases. You can see from my notes above the photo that Forbert has hopped around like wild on all manner of tiny little labels. Of his first four albums (again, the top three packages in the photo), three of them (all but Little Stevie Orbit) have scads of bonus tracks. When I start amassing this many albums by a single artist, it can only mean that I’m planning a catalog study, and I look forward to beginning Forbert’s in earnest come next January.
I was so excited at the merch table that I just started pointing at things (”I’ll take of those, and one of those, and one of those...”). I was amazed by how many different things he had available, even if none of them was one of his weird, fan-club or tour-only things. Still, until that moment I only owned two Forbert albums on CD (along with a handful on vinyl), so it was like being in a candy store.
The merchandise person was a bit of an oddball, a raspy-voiced woman in a mask, and I still wonder: is that Forbert’s wife?! Surely not. They seem roughly the same age, but if they’re a couple it’s a bit of an odd couple. At one point when I was making my selections she seemed taken aback that I wanted so much, so I asked, “Is that okay?” She hollered in her brash rasp, “THE MORE YA BUY THE LESS I GOTTA CARRY!”
When I got back to the hotel, I could not believe my eyes. Seven of the discs were pristine and sealed new copies. Mission of the Crossroad Palms and Young, Guitar Days, however, were used copies, and not just any used copies, but trashed copies with significantly scratched discs; one of them had a guy’s initials in magic marker on the disc itself, and the other had a big sticker on the tray reading “DISC AT COUNTER.” What in the absolute blue blazes?! Never in all my days have I seen torn-up used CDs at a concert merch table. Surely this could not be Forbert’s doing? I blame that nutty woman! And they were not used-CD prices; I paid something like $13 or $15 a pop. Damnation! I prefer to believe that this was an accident and Forbert would be mortified if he knew about this. I just can’t believe he would knowingly sell torn-up copies of his own albums, let alone at full price.
Below we see the front covers of all nine purchases, including the bogus used ones, presented left to right beginning with the top row and in the same order that they are listed above and shown in the first photo (top to bottom).
Tumblr media
Here are the back covers of the same, in the same order.
Tumblr media
After I got all these home, I did some research to figure out exactly how many CDs this man has released, once all the fan-club items and other oddities are considered. Forty! Forty Forberts! I have made my brother listen at length to my incredulous reaction to there being Forty Forberts in this world, and as you will see in subsequent posts, I am making my way toward accumulating all forty. Some of them will be impossible to find, I fear, but when I do start this catalog study it will take me well over two years even if I have to skip several of his more arcane releases.

Artist Statement
The way of seeing prompt is our first class project, and it is an adventure. I am doing techniques I have not done before. It is exciting and scary at the same time. I wanted my project to be very creative and unique; I looked at the examples my teacher provided a lot and did research on the different techniques. I traveled a lot when I first arrived at SCAD, so it helped me find pictures. I found the nature picture in front of a store by the shop I bought my bike. The pattern was in an antique thrift store that caught my eye, and the man-made picture was actually from 2018 when I ran a 5k in Pittsburgh. Reconstructing these photos with different methods is intriguing and eye-opening. I have never realized the number of lines and patterns one can make with them. I am also trying new techniques to create these images, from using morse code for patterns to using coloring book pages for one of the collages. I liked the painting portion of the project; it just made the pictures pop. I was not too fond of the collage portion; I picked very detailed pictures, so translating that onto paper was tricky, mainly because I have not used an x-acto knife like this before. I wanted my project to be different and creative. It is kind of a battle between wanting to try to make it as creative and detailed as possible and realizing that I am new to this, and I am learning how to create specific techniques.   What I would do differently next time is definitely pick more simple photographs or at least have one detailed and two simple ones, so I can have more time to explore and be creative. I am happy about how this turned out and am realizing how much I learned along the way.

Architecture in Toronto (No. 1)
The architecture of Toronto is an eclectic combination of architectural styles, ranging from 19th century Georgian architecture, to 21st century postmodern architecture and beyond. Initially, the city was on the periphery of the architectural world, embracing styles and ideas developed in Europe and the United States with only limited local variation. However, a few unique styles of architecture have emerged from Toronto, such as the bay and gable style house and the Annex style house.
Toronto's older buildings are influenced by the city's history and culture. Most of the city's older buildings adopted designs found in other areas of the British Empire, such as Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, and various revival-styled designs that were popular during the 19th and early 20th century. In the years following World War II, the city experienced massive growth and adopted a number of modernist and postmodernist architectural styles, including the International Style and the towers in the park concept. With adoption of the Greenbelt throughout the Greater Toronto Area in 2005, the region has experienced a large condo boom with many designs adopting neo-futurism and neomodern styles. Since the end of World War II, many prominent architects have done work in city, including Toronto native Frank Gehry, Daniel Libeskind, Norman Foster, Will Alsop, I. M. Pei, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Reflecting this eclectic combination of architecture, Lawrence Richards, a member of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Toronto, has said "Toronto is a new, brash, rag-tag place—a big mix of periods and styles."
The growth of the city is influenced by the geography of the city, most notably the Toronto ravine system and the Greenbelt, a permanently protected area of green space, farmland, forests, wetlands, and watersheds within the Golden Horseshoe. The natural geography of the city also provided builders with a variety of resources to build from. The most abundant raw material was the shale layer underlying the city, as well as the abundance of clay, making brick an especially cheap and available material, and resulting in many of the city's buildings being built from brick.
