If you could eat any monster from dungeon meshi, which one would it be and why?

Not a particular monster, but the dish i wanted the most was FAIRY RING CHANGELING'D ASSORTED MULTICULTURAL DUMPLINGS. Oh my god. I think a lot about how dumpling style food from every culture covers most of my favorite dishes, and Im also someone who prefers sampling food here and there instead of eating a lot of one thing. So seeing this panel just made me like extremely excited

I have to think harder about a particular monster..I really wanna try stuff with slime and Im delighted by all of the uses for it. The man-eating plant tart uses slime gelatin as a binding agent and it looks so good.

Also not a monster but the exorcism sorbet was so delightful, the way they made it made me smile and it looks so good

Unfortunately I quickly feel sick if I eat too much of one thing (especially really savory food) and I really like light foods, so although most of the dishes in dungeon meshi looked amazing they are probably a bit too heavy for me to eat more than a couple bites of so I really loved seeing unique light dishes like these here and there

#I like savory food best and can eat more of it when its balanced out by a staple food #Which is why i like dumpling type foods and quiche and chicken pot pie and curry with a high ratio of rice #Anyways im getting very excited talking about food but that is the power of dungeon meshi. having a decent salary and thus being able to spend more money on food has me obsessing over the idea of cooking for other people

#wanna visit back home just so i can cook something nice for my mom #guy who will set up an alarm so that he can make a savory breakfast for you #accompanied by scones and a carefully selected tea that compliments them #ive also been lvling up my cooking skills lately.. properly studying on what makes things taste good etc #a few of my latest dishes have had the restaurant quality taste to them i must admit #there was one flop pasta but its okey. if i tried it again it would b much better #it was still good. basic homemade cooking taste. bites were a bit too homogeneous perhaps #sorry i enjoy being a tryhard at everything i do #diamond rank at sleeping. relaxing. and dreaming too... 💤#shion.txt

Misc. photos from the past year or so ~

#image commentary in tags once again since they don't allow captions anymore and I feel weird using the alt text for that --#1. napping bapy boye sneeping on his own foot as if it were a pillow #2. The little primrose that I have seems to bloom sporadically all year around as long as I bring it inside and don't let it freeze #in the winter. This was a flower that came up randomly like mid november lol #3. Rainbow where you can see a little bit of a second rainbow near the bottom of it :0 #4. CHILDREN.... love to see them.....#5. Halloween Candy ranking tierlist. not important enough to post on it's own. so throwing it in with one of these I guess lol #I am also not really a candy person at all and prefer bready stuff like cakes rather than chocolate bars (if I even have to have sweets #at ALL which usually I prefer savory food). I suspect the apple is controversial but.. I do love apples .... huzzah #actually am having applle and peanut butter snack right now as I'm writing this lol #6. Various bowls/cups/etc. that I got from a store at COMPLETELY different times like.. years apart from each other #yet at some point realized that they all mostly match in paint color and seem to be part of the same pattern #But I totally didnt make that connection until a few years ago when I was putting up dishes. I just bought them all invidually because it's #like 'oh cool! a cat' *1 year later* 'oh cool! a cat!' etc. lol.. I guess it must be a popular design if it's been around being sold that #long.#7. carne asada burrito and matcha bubble tea... oughhgh.... again one of my very rare meals where I actually go and get something..#probably my favorite meal currently. Something about the Chronic Anemia makes me crave beef burritos madly despite only having one #maybe twice a year or so ghjbhj.. plus the beans.... onions.... many of my Diet Forbidden foods... Also of course the little aishas #are there.... somehow they shall split the meal together even though it's like 10x bigger than their bodies.. they are also hungry #and vastly anemic... huzzah to them...#8. I've had this shirt for a long time but it fits very weird so I can never find a way to use it in outfits?? But I recently had #an appointment where a doctor needed to be able to look at my back and it's one of the only actual Shirts that I have (mostly i just own #long robes or tunics or jumper dress type of things that would be hard to lift up or etc. like... I dont even own a single normal 't-shirt'#or anyting aside from one giant tshirt that I sleep in in the summer lol.) So I wore this there.. I forget how much I love the pictures on #it.. how pleasant... little hummingbird... AND I think one of the flowers is supposed to be columbine ... !#photo diary

my mom's college is sooo nostalgic 😭

#i used to come here as a kid #when we had a holiday but mom and dad had jobs to mom would carry me and brother here #she has her own huge department and its separated from other staff rooms #and there's a huge blackboard that students would draw on with colorful chalks its still there 😭😭#and frames of different anatomical structures #and the kitchen inside #and menu cards prepared by students all over #she's home science and english teacher so she has it all a bit of nutrition stitching and sewing cooking medicine table manners #chemistry biology literally everything #and the students prepared files with pretty covers and id pick out all the decorations from the files when they passed out #and in practicals mom would make them prepare tastiest dishes everyone got a sweet and one savory to prepare #and mom always has craziest idea she loves cooking so you can imagine the dishes i got to taste #the glass and foil paintings are still there 😭😭🥹🥹#and the cutlery #there are lot more wall hangings now #and the one huge center table is reduced to two small tables #and the department has got one new teacher shes so young #i mean its not so grand but ofc its grand it contains my childhood #the canteen and bookstall don't work anymore no idea why the owners abandoned them after covid #im so 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹#im meeting my school friends here then we'll go shopping

does anyone else have this thing where you can only eat certain foods in the right context? (right in the way where it makes sense for you)

for example one of my biggest texture nightmares is mushy rice. I can't eat it if it's mushy, really bad to the point where it can ruin my appetite for days

however I p much devour suman (steamed sticky rice)

another example is I can't eat pork belly with mashed potatoes or like a ~western side dish, I have to eat it with rice bc I grew up only eating it with rice. so the thought of eating it w like mashed potatoes or mac and cheese makes me ill
