Cue sassy old man marc barging into the castle and winning EVERYONE over somehow even the suspicious ragtag bunch of vale's adopted children. when vale drags himself home after yet another battle finding it harder and harder to turn back human with each passing day he brushes aside the curtain to marc's bed and watches him sleep, young and unburdened, his face terrifying in its beauty because its making the hollow place inside of him feel something like love.
