Women in Afghanistan have faced an onslaught of violence and human rights abuses since the Taliban’s return to national power less than a year ago — and the “scope, magnitude and severity” of violations are “increasing month to month,” according to a new report by Amnesty International.
Do what you can. Share. Reblog. Educate. Donate. Pressure. Pressure your politicians and governments to aid in repairing the problems they had a gigantic hand in creating.

A few months ago, I lost a friend whom I’d known for more than twenty years, and who had once let me come live with her when I was essentially homeless. When I started posting about Palestine, she ended our friendship, as I suspected that she would, as she is unable to tolerate criticism of Israel.
Recently I saw on Facebook that she has used her saved-up vacation time to take a trip to Israel and plant trees there. There are photos of her grinning and smiling in the sunshine, posing next to a mural that reads, “Protect Your Jewish Magic!”
This has been haunting me.
She is not a bad person. She is a beautiful, intelligent person who has had a truly remarkable life. She donated $1000 for me to use to help Afghan students take TOEFL tests. And I know, because I know her, that she truly lives with a profound and sincere fear that Someday They Will Come for the Jews. (She is the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors.)
But there is this derangement, this absolute inability to see and internalize what is happening— and this incredible disconnect between the stakes of her life (protect your Jewish magic!) and the stakes of life in Gaza (parents seeing all of their children killed).
It’s truly one of those points at which you think: am I crazy, or is the world crazy?

why are you "pro JKR" like do u think she gives a shit abt people like u😂 Yeah everyone enjoyed Harry Potter to some extent but she's just an obnoxious arse at this point. u don't need to fall to your knees for her or write paragraphs omg...
Putting aside her helping to save the lives of Afghan women, starting a rape crisis center and helping fight against illiteracy and poverty by donating and creating charities, her work brought me a lot of joy at a time when I needed it, and that alone is very valuable. There is no need to be so bitter about a post a stranger made on the internet, op. Have a blessed day 🌻✨

made a simple call script for calling congresspeople about the numerous genocides taking place worldwide currently, urging them to respond and call for intervention/ceasefire. feel free to use this, and if anyone has any advice for additions, please let me know. please do what you can, the people will be free.
Hello, my name is [name, optional], and I am a constituent of [congressperson]. I am calling about the numerous genocides happening worldwide. At this point in time, you are likely already aware of the genocide of Palestinian people, but there are many more genocides happening in the world, and the overlooking of such happenings, while innocents continue to suffer, must end.
Currently, Congolese, Armenian, Tigrayan, Yemeni, Guatemalan, Rohingya, Haitian, Native American, Kashmiri, Kurd, Sudanese, Ukrainian, Argentinian, Afghan, Moroccan, Libyan, Syrian, Lebanese, and many more people are experiencing genocide (or close risk of it, according to genocidewatch.com), ethnic cleansing, displacement, and the like. Also currently, the United States government continues to be not only complicit, but supportive of these attacks out of ignorance and selfish benefit.
In order to maintain current support, it is dire that you side with the people. Please do research on each and take a look into doing whatever possible to save the innocent people around the world from living a life of constant abuse and murder. Thank you for your time."

British exceptionalism means that we do not like to think of our politicians as extremists. Official paranoia, state-sponsored lying, half-mad ideas that play to bigoted prejudices: these evils do not afflict dear, sweet, safe old Blighty.
You need only glance at the press or watch the BBC to know that policies and politicians we would have no problem identifying as radical right if they appeared in Europe or the Trumpian corners of the United States, are treated as mainstream here in the UK.
To be fair, Rishi Sunak is not a typical strongman leader. He is small (5ft 5in) and without physical presence, oratorical skill, or a definable sense of purpose.
Sunak’s manner varies from  wide-eyed chirpiness when discussing his strangely marginal political passions – banning smoking, recruiting more maths teachers – to petulance when confronted with difficulties: “He comes across as snippy, and comes across as thin-skinned — which he is, when people challenge him,” said one former minister.
Labour politicians believe he will fall apart under the scrutiny of a general election campaign.
And yet this mediocre member of the superrich (our modern Malvolio married rather than earned his wealth) who received the best education the Western world can offer at Winchester college and Oxford and Stanford universities, is by any reasonable definition an extremist.
Sunak’s only saving grace is that he is as useless at extremism as he is at everything else and thus there is a limit to how much damage he can cause.
Within the past few hours Sunak passed into law the power to send asylum seekers to the quasi-dictatorship of Rwanda. The deportees will include genuine refugees, the victims of human trafficking, and Afghans who risked their lives serving the British armed forces in the war against the Taliban.
I have no doubt that radical right politicians across Europe would like to possess the same powers. But as things stand only Rishi Sunak has them and is able to set them to the Orwellian task of remoulding reality.
The UK Supreme Court ruled that the government could not deport people to Rwanda because it is not a safe country. It’s a quasi-dictatorship under Paul Kagame, a genuine and genuinely frightening strongman, who is engaged in covert warfare against neighbouring states. There’s no real judicial independence and the Rwandan government breached the terms of a previous asylum deal it had entered into with Israel.
The UK government has got round these objections by announcing that reality is now what Rishi Sunak says it is.
Sunak’s legislation declares that Rwanda is a safe country, even though it isn’t. From now on, an asylum seeker trying to stop the UK deporting him cannot use the actual existing repressions on the ground in Rwanda to challenge the government in UK courts.
Sunak says Rwanda is safe so it must be so. Maybe Sunak will move on to declare that black is white and 2+2=5, but for the time being he is limiting himself to creating an imaginary African republic where all is peace and light.
Lord Anderson, who as a former adviser to the UK state on terrorism is hardly a knee-jerk softie, put it well when he said of the government’s plans to end judicial oversight
“If Rwanda is safe as the government would have us declare, it has nothing to fear from such scrutiny. “Yet we are invited to adopt a fiction, to wrap it in the cloak of parliamentary sovereignty and to grant it permanent immunity from challenge. To tell an untruth and call it truth.”
To insist that lies are the truth is extreme. It is also the logical conclusion of the Brexit policy of concerted lying in the service of political ends, which has been running since 2016.
And speaking of Brexit and before I go any further, I should note that, with the exception of Geert Wilders, no European far-right leader advocates taking his or her country out of the EU. But Rishi Sunak was all for Brexit, and promised that “our nation would be freer, fairer and more prosperous outside the EU”.
We know how that went.
And we almost certainly know how the Rwanda deportations will go. They will fail, and Sunak will be a failed extremist because what he wants is impossible.
Look at it from the point of view of a right-winger who is furious that tens of thousands are crossing the English Channel and entering the country illegally. Throughout his life the Conservatives have betrayed him.
David Cameron promised to reduce migration from the hundreds to tens of thousands, and failed to deliver. Brexit promised to return control of our borders. Instead, small boats cross the channel in a parody of the Dunkirk evacuation, while legal immigration has gone through the roof.
No pro-European politician would ever say this, but it does not mean that people have not noticed. By leaving the EU, the UK swapped European migrants who were largely white and, if they had a religion, it was Christianity, for migrants from the rest of the world who are largely not white and, if they have a religion, it is unlikely to be Christianity.
Despite all this Sunak is still bellowing that he will stop all the boats, which is as impossible as David Cameron’s fake promise to reduce migration to the tens of thousands.
He is bellowing because Conservatives are terrified that Reform (the latest Farage party) will send the Tories down to a landslide defeat.
They are trying to unite the right by assuming that right-wing and radical-wing voters are stupid, and won’t notice the attempt to con them with impossible promises.
It’s not working. At the moment we are in an unprecedented situation, where Labour enjoys a poll lead on immigration.
For those on left who say there is no difference between Starmer’s Labour and the Tories ought to notice that Labour holds that lead even though it is absolutely opposed to the Rwanda obscenity, when Tony Blair’s Labour party would probably have gone along with it.
In the Commons yesterday, Stephen Kinnock, Labour’s shadow immigration minister, tore into the government.
He pointed out that the cost of the vain attempt to save Sunak’s skin – will be about “£2 million per deportee”. As only a few hundred are ever likely to go, tens of thousands more will be left “in expensive hotels, stuck in a perma-backlog at a staggering cost to the taxpayer.”
Assuming, that is, anyone goes at all.
Yesterday Sunak made a rather pathetic admission that no plane will leave for 12 weeks. We shall see. Despite the government’s best efforts to rewrite the law and threaten the European Court of Human Rights, there can still be legal challenges which may last until the next election.
Cynics say the government would like nothing better than the flights to be stopped so it can blame left-wing lawyers in the campaign. I think they are attributing intelligence to the prime minister he does not possess.
Put like this, the UK’s failed extremists do not seem so reprehensible.  But look at what they have done. Since David Cameron in 2010 they have never explained the necessity for immigration in an honest conversation with the public.
They have pandered to right-wing and radical right-wing sentiment and then infuriated voters by making promises they could never keep. In doing so they have prepared the ground for genuinely extremist politicians.
We have already paid a price for their trickery with Brexit and I doubt the full bill is in yet.
We are fortunate that Rishi Sunak is too hopeless to be dangerous. We may not be so lucky in the future.

Chapter One
Come, You.
Yandere! Hannibal Lecter x Female Bipolar! Reader. Reader Chan was a former Afghan Citizen currently living in America.
Chapter Summary. It is 2020 and you are on the brink of taking your life during the Pandemic. You need help. Lonely and middle-aged, Docter Hannibal Lecter, a psychiatrist, wasting time till retirement and he needs help to fill the void in his chest. Drugs and women were not helping. He needs your help. His stubborn and moody patient of all people…and a Vegan. Ugh.
Warning: Age Gap. Older man with much younger woman. Cannibalism. Yandere. Language Barrier. Obsession. Stalking. Crude Language. Mental Illnesses. Gas Lighting. Manipulation.
No.
Once more, your mean-spirited joke called Father said “No”. Again. He hardly said yes to your wishes. Your elderly friend in community college recently passed away due to Pneumonia.  His daughter on Facebook announced his condition and posted the location and time of his funeral one city away.
You were only nineteen and came to America age seventeen. You did not know how to drive on freeways. Your dad would not teach you or let you travel far on your own.  The City Village you came from was Baghlan, Afghanistan. A rural place in the mountain farms. Not as educated as the capital city of Kabul.
Your dad was close minded and rude. He was plagued with toxic masculinity and was suffocating you. The Virus made life more difficult. Your best friend passed away and the shut down of your school did not help. Your father would not let you step outside the house. And you were lucky to go to school in public. You hated online classes.
Tears trailed down your rosy cheeks and your fat lips reddened from being bitten. Oh, how you hate your Father! Damn him! Sexist Swine! Misogyny stenches came from him.
You leisurely took out the cell phone out of your purse and typed “suicide” on google images.
Is Everything All Right? Need help? Call us?
You licked your lips.
“Save me.” You whispered to yourself.
Doctor Lecter did not say anything as a client of his almost knocked the tray of snacks he placed on the coffee table. Ian was a womanizer who finally got his punishment. He got his heart broken and now was seeing Doctor Lecter for his “depression”. Lecter told him that he was not depressed. He was just mad and did not need medication. But, Ian being a spoiled and entitled Prick he was, he insisted. So, Lecter decided to write a report. Hannibal does not want to give medicine freely. As it was illegal.
“Mr. Kermif. Please leave.” Doctor Lecter firmly stated. Ian glared at the wrinkled face of his doctor. Hannibal was not backing down.
Ian clenched his jaw then slammed the door shut as he finally left the wonderfully decorated office of Psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter.
Another day. Another headache. Lecter was in college when SpongeBob came to television. He thought Squidward was pathetic and a born loser. But, as much as Lecter hated to admit it. He became a Squidward himself. How embarrassing that life defeated him. He is a late middle-aged man almost a grandfather age and yet single to the tea.
No wife or kids. He spent his days being a womanizer like Ian. But, he never cheated. He told all the women he has been with he does not want a relationship.
Regret filled the cold and voided heart of Doctor Hannibal Lecter.
His phone chimed to let him know that a new patient will see him first thing tomorrow at one in the afternoon.
As Doctor Lecter read the name of the patient. He cocked his head to the side and furrowed his wrinkled eyebrows in confusion. What a peculiar and odd name. He never heard of that name once. Not even in movies or fiction books. It was effeminate so he knew the new patient was a woman.
“Afghanistan.” He murmured. The profile said that English was your second language and Pashto was your first. How strange indeed. He met Pakistani and Yemeni people. Never an Afghani. Thanks to the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, Afghan citizens found it difficult to get VISAS in America.
Doctor Lecter can refuse to see you and assign you to another Doctor. He decided to see you tomorrow.
What could possibly go wrong? He has treated over thousands of patients for twenty-eight years of being a psychiatrist. What will make you special and different?

Have you heard of a woman named Kobra Hassani? Kobra is a hardworking and talented businesswoman, journalist and activist for the rights of women and the poor in Afghanistan. After the US withdrew its troops, the residents found themselves defenseless against the Taliban and Kobra fled the country. She went to get another education in Ukraine. But even there Kobra found itself under fire and had to urgently evacuate. The carriers promised her that they would send her to Poland, but in the end they deceived her and sent her to Russia. Russian politicians call the banned terrorist organization Taliban "normal guys." The Taliban goes on visiting delegations to Moscow. Kobra had already spent two years in a Russian prison, where she complained of violence. Today, a Russian court sentenced an Afghan journalist and women's rights activist: deportation to Afghanistan, where she will face the death penalty. Journalists and women at high risk in Afghanistan. Kobra Hassani - both. The Taliban tortures and executes unwanted women, including gang rape. Her story is hardly covered in Russian media; Russia loves censorship. The Afghan media won’t write about her either. The world community has lost interest in Afghanistan; it is no longer fashionable. I don’t know how long is left before she is forced to be sent to the Taliban - hours or a couple more days. I ask you to make her story public. It's about life and death I beg you • Share her story with the world. On all your social networks. Share this news with online communities and bloggers you know. Organizations like Amnesty International. • You can tag international organizations and even politicians in your posts. • I understand how terrible this sounds, but her life could have been saved by exchanging her for Russian prisoners in foreign prisons. Perhaps the international community should at least discuss this decision? There will not be a second Kobra - it is unlikely that any more refugees will want to flee to Ukraine, this was a long time ago. And Russia is also avoided. There will not be a permanent exchange of hostages, this is one unique case. Just one of these, but human life is important! • Remember that we have very little time. I know everyone is overwhelmed with big news and it may sound a little overwhelming, but all it really takes now is to copy and paste a piece of text. This can help. • You are not obliged to fulfill all the points, publish these proposals - maybe others will do something. Maybe they will even create a petition for non-Russian politicians who could influence this incident. • It is within our power to at least cover this story. Kobra is a hardworking, smart and talented person with a big heart. She had no obligation to become an activist for the rights of women and the poor, but while living in Afghanistan, she chose to be their voice. Perhaps now someone can become her voice? Let's not let her die in the shadows of obscurity. Sorry if I ruined your mood. But I promise you will feel better if you do even a small thing for her.

None of us wanted to be right when Dr. Paul explained 20 years ago that inflation, war, and empire are the death of nations. The US has committed suicide, we are just waiting for this beast to finish bleeding to death. The hubris and ignorance of the elite blinds them to these facts. They seem to genuinely believe it's still 1995. We are physically incapable of preventing the Russians, the Arabs, Persians, or Chinese from becoming dominate regional powers. We can no longer administer the global order with impunity. We could have saved 10,000s of our own soldiers lives, trillions in treasure had we not had the folly of the Iraq and Afghan Wars. Bin Laden won. We could have had peace, trade, security, and moral righteousness. Now we are desperately clinging to a bygone world order and sacrificing the wealth of generations for proxy wars. I pray our enemies have mercy for us.
Prepare youself accordingly.

Republicans are acting as if this is a normal election when the main candidate & former president is being threatened with prison to keep him from running & those who voted for him before are treated as terrorists/extremists for following the Constitution. People are wearing masks again as if everything about Covid was not a lie. Doctors are still pushing shots & boosters as if no one died from the “vaccine” & it actually prevents Covid - which everyone now knows was also a lie. People are signing up to use AI at home & at work as if doing so is not surrendering all our rights to those who control the technology. Men are using female restrooms, obliterating women’s sports, raping female prisoners behind bars & feminists everywhere are acting like it is not happening. Innocent Americans are still being arrested every day as part of the January 6/2020 election fraud cover-up, Their lives & families are being destroyed & many of them are held in solitary confinement as we stand by silently as if none of it is happening… Afghan soldiers & police who we trained, who fought side by side with us for freedom are still being hunted down & murdered while young girls are taken as terrorist wives & forced into sexual slavery & we don’t even mention it or think about it or talk about it. The media still reports on climate change as if it is not a total lie while our leaders sign us up for policies that were never about saving the planet & will actually push humanity into starvation & destroy the earth. So no, I am not having a good day or week or month or year. I don’t understand how anyone can still be blind or how we can be expected to fix all this without an act of God. Or two.

Ten donna midnight comfort sex, planet of the hat Fun sex, any others? (this is me asking for tendonna sex headcanons )
btw darling im so sorry i didn't answer this when you sent it. i promise i wasn't ignoring you.
it's just that i honestly couldnt come up with anything bc sex isn't really my forte. gentle everyday fluffy intimacy? or desperate pining angst? those're my game.
like the piano and drinks ritual after really dark adventures. Donna started it after Pompeii. The Doctor plays the piano and they drink away their heartache. (im saving the actual scene for a fic, but it's when he first fell for her, and then spent several weeks chastising himself and trying to make himself stop.)
or the fact that Donna is the most curious. She's the one who was like "what if i said something in actual Latin?" and she's the one he taught to drive the TARDIS (bc you KNOW she was like SHOW ME. SHOW ME HOW. NOW.) She spends her days just absolutely harassing the man with questions and taking notes. He (not so) secretly loves it. (i also had her learn some Gallifreyan in a ficlet once and that series escalated into him singing to her, so..... The Doctor sings. That's a thing.)
They read books together in the TARDIS library. When the Doctor gets antsy he wanders over to the chess board he has set up and plays it while she reads. Usually she ends up falling asleep on the sofa with her fuzzy afghan blanket and he has to carry her back to her room. If it's the first time she's reading a classic, he makes her read it out loud to him. It always takes ages bc she stops to react to big dramatic plot twists. (And when they read a Hercule Poirot he makes her do a French accent.)
They also watch TV bc Donna has to unwind. ("Do you live your life like that?" "Not all the time." She makes sure it's not all the time for him.) But he's not allowed to comment on any historical inaccuracies.
There's a garden on the TARDIS where Donna planted a bed of white lilies in honor of Jenny.
...annnd that's about all i got right now. :D

Ask for when you’re bored & want something to think about!:
If the england nt players weren’t professional footballers, what jobs do you think they’d have?
Kane would be a personal trainer. He’d have done a diploma in sports science at college and now runs GTG fitness (give to get). He specialises in weight loss and fitness for health reasons. He charges £72 a session, but hey, it’s London and he’s got overheads.
Tumblr media
Sterling would be a mental health nurse in the NHS. He’s got bags of empathy but he can also handle himself so it was a natural fit. When a big 6ft geezer starts throwing bins around on the ward, it’s always a relief to see Raheem come into the room to help.
Tumblr media
Bellingham’s a club promoter and influencer in Ibiza. He started in Maga and worked his way up, and now he’s got plans to open his own beach club to rival ocean beach. He’s got no intention of returning to the UK, and he’s got 6 figures in the bank account
Tumblr media
Rice is a cabbie.
Tumblr media
Shaw’s technically unemployed but he deals weed unofficially.
Tumblr media
Maguire is a graphics teacher that will probably be the head one day. He doesn’t go to the annual Christmas party, and he doesn’t drink at prom. If he sees you at school on your phone, even at lunch time, he’s confiscating that shit.
Tumblr media
Stones is a labourer. Painter, decorated and plasterer to be exact. He’s a complete tit at work, constantly pranking everyone and having carry on. He’s never not wearing a pair of paint covered joggies. He lives for the weekends and even when he’s hungover to fuck he’s picking everyone up on Monday morning in the van with the tunes blasting, a fag in his mouth and 100% energy, ready for another day of being a dafty.
Tumblr media
Trippier’s a night club bouncer. He knows everyone in town and he is extremely strict when it comes to his job. He certainly wouldn’t let Stonesy into his establishment on a Friday night, let’s put it that way.
Tumblr media
Pickford’s in the army. He fell victim to the military’s bad habit of razing young men down in the north east, and he was signed up at 17 years old. He’s done a tour of Afghan and the Falklands, and he’s still got PTSD from the former. He’s in the rifles and he’s a corporal now, meaning he’s got command of lots of tanks and guns. He’s not a dick about it though, and he won a medal for going back for one of the lads under enemy fire and risking his own life to save him.

I didn’t anticipate that submarine post taking off so much, but while people are here:
Please consider donating to the Afghans in Crisis Network, which is run by people I have worked with and which directly helps at-risk Afghans find and reach situations of safety.
Another great organization to support is the Afghan Girls Financial Assistance Fund. They have supported, and really saved the lives of, several gifted young Afghan women I know who would not have been able to study in the US without their help.
I also strongly encourage those in the US to contact your congressmen and senators about the Afghan Adjustment Act and the Afghan Allies Protection Act, which would try to address at least some of the massive trainwreck that is America’s treatment of its Afghan allies. (I’m happy to talk with anyone at any time about specific cases I’m involved with or the general substance of the bills.)

I love women.
Bibi Mubarika was one of the few remaining wives of the founder of the Mughal Empire in India, Babur. This excerpt is from the book 'Daughters of the Sun' by Ira Mukhoty. In this very specific paragraph, it recounts the time when Humayun, son of Babur and second Emperor of the Mughal Empire, was first defeated by Sher Shah Suri. After facing a horrible defeat at the hands of the Afghan leader, Humayun fled along with his haraman and remaining troops.
Bibi Mubarika was part of the haraman that was travelling with Humayun. But she decided to stay back in Agra when the others had decided to go other ways. Her courage saved her husband's grave from defilement at the hands of the enemy.
She lived through Humayun's reign and died early when her grandson and Humayun's son, Akbar became Emperor.

The appointment of special envoys
A reversal of the funding cuts to UNRWA
An increase in funding to and the development of NGOs providing humanitarian aid
A permanent and immediate ceasefire for relevant locations (such as Gaza)
- Voting NO on the supplemental funding package to send more weapons to Israel (if you are in the position to do so)
Thank you for your time. I trust that you will do what you would want other countries to do for us."
*before adding your name, check to see if your congressperson requires it. if not, dont give more information than required.
im going off of whats required in email forms for my congresspeople, but im not entirely sure if thats a good way to do it, so feel free to add if you have a better way, mainly for being able to know without having to ask directly, since i and others are calling while out of hours.
