i came up with what i think is an incredibly cute idea for a mdzs au and i really might add it to my project list cuz it tickles my fancy.

i'm dying thinking about it so let me give as small of a summary as i can here lmao

*the big change here is LWJ. LWJ is essentially a lot less restrictive, but...mainly with WWX! Think of this slightly like a sober-drunk LWJ.

-WWX meets LWJ at Cloud Ressesses, as per usual. he's still strict, but something about him seems softer around WWX than with other people, and others notice it immediately while WWX has no fucking clue. (this doesn't mean he's not aware, this just means it's too early for him to understand there's a difference).

-LWJ intentionally catches WWX every time he does something against the rules, and is secretly the happiest guy ever bc he now gets to sit with WWX every day for hours. this will help it still be a surprise for WWX when LWJ starts opening up to him bc why does strict lan suddenly wanna friend me??

-it does not take long before LWJ is actually seeming to open up even if not in the way WWX expected. (at least a month so after his punishment) as a result, WWX stops doing as much bad things to get LWJ's attention, and simply hangs out with him a ton. (Jc is a bit jealous bc he always wants the two to hang alone. He doesn't think about it too much though cuz wwx is always outgoing so he thinks he's probably overthinking it- not that he thinks they're in a relationship at this point)

-WWX starts behaving a bit, just because he wants to hang around longer, but still ends up punching Jin Zixuan. As a result, LWJ convinces uncle to let him go to Lotus pier as both an escort and to study there since he's already a great lan student! (aka he just wants to stick around WWX) and after a great battle with the of eyes he is allowed to go.

-Thus starts the little adventures of our young couple doing whatever the hell they want for a while.

maybe i'll touch more on this later but

i decided to nickname the au "He's Definitely Sober" for now. if i change it i change it lol

i mean...think about it, just imagine this scene but with a sober lwj. i would literally die. it's like, some of my favorite things. I have always wished there was more of this lmao

Why is there a sudden push for sasu/hina to be the sister ship for Narusaku?

I’ve seen the argument “well sasuke and hinata have to end up with someone-“ but like… Kiba and Karin are right there???

Weren’t Sk & Ns considered sister ships back then? When did Sh even come to the equation? It’s all confusing.

I have no idea to be quite honest. I've been missing from the fandom for 5 years and when I came back in 2020, I noticed that too.

I think it's a bit of fanfic taken a tiny wee bit too far given the development that we have in the manga.

Like I get the appeal and potential, I have an old SasuHina edit myself because I saw it too.

However, yeah, if we go by development, NS & SK seemed to be the sister ships so to speak, all cuz Kishi went so far as to make it so obvious, lol.

But that wasn't always a guarantee in the actual fandom though, sometimes people just shipped one, or the other, it didn't mean that they necessarily sister shipped them so to speak.

I for one do, but solely due to the symbolism present in the story, even though I see the potential in SH, too.

And I see the appeal in KibaHina too as well, haha.

Got the attitude that he doesn't care about individual rankings or numbers, whether or not he's leading the top-scorer list, just about contributing to the team and succeeding as a unit. No time to contemplate the future but rather focus on each game individually and once it's done it's done, no use to dwell more than a day when all you can do is make adjustments and try again.

Was ranked among the top 5 players for the draft early on, dropped after his numbers in the league didn't add up to much (7+7 in 43 games). Criticized for not producing even though he was statistically among some of the most productive forwards given his ice time averaged about 12 minutes while perpetually being on the 4th line.

Had reasons to describe his game ahead of the draft, might as well tack an amateur view on here:

Left shooting LW (with the option to switch to C) who's still growing into his size but already knows how to efficiently utilize it.

Got the agility and intelligence to read and predict the play, allowing for a commendable transition game resulting in plenty of chances for him and his teammates to score on. Actually channeling all those skills at once (throughout a full match) and cashing in on said chances is something that'll come to fruition further along his path of development.

His stick-handling/shot release is a sight to behold. Can adjust his hands/body any number of ways, fooling the opposition, and still have it land exactly as intended. That is if he doesn't hesitate too long, which has happened. Once he's got the visual analysis while maintaining a fast pace down? Better look out! Needs to apply the same initiative and foresight when skating without puck.

hi! lol we would literally be here all day if i listed every single ot3 of mine and i'm sure there's plenty that wouldn't interest you if they're from fandoms you don't follow, but i'm gonna speak generally with a few examples: ot3s are great because I'm a multishipper and I love threesomes (and the occasional foursome/moresome) lol what can I say. Unless something is a squick for me I can usually find some way to make it square in my head. And I like gay stuff, so an MF is usually further enhanced for me by making it MFF or MMF (although i also like MMM and FFF). Sometimes there's also the appeal of just... weird or inconvenient sex. It's funny, it's experimental, where else can you get this kind of content. i love the vibe between Inu/Kag/Miroku in the early days of Inuyasha before Sango is introduced. i like Miro/Sango too but like, those three clowns might've hooked up pre-Sango days. and i often genuinely can't choose between one ship and another, or i don't want to write out a ship so that i can include another one. i like Ed/Ling from fma but i also love Winry and it's not out of this world to me that she'd be down for a threesome lol. (Actually the problem would be Ed... but I think he could be convinced.) For the other het ships i listed... Bat/Wonder Woman... like why not complete the trifecta and have SuperWonderBat? They are iconic for a reason and they're fun together. Actually this just works really well in general for American comics that have been so long-running each character has a multitude of possible ships, and probably some homoerotic tension with someone at some point? Other times i'm literally not interested unless it's an ot3, like something is missing without it? Tbh this tends to happen with underdeveloped het ships, when there's a rival/bff/villain character right there with whom the hero has plenty of development, but the creator also hasn't totally neglected the canon love interest (usually a female character who has been somewhat sidelined lol). That's your Sasu/Naru/Saku (Naruto), Inu/Kag/Koga (they teased Kag/Koga and I was kinda into it, but I need Inuyasha to also be there for me to get on board) and most of the canonical ships from the Final Fantasy canon. In general, if I'm supposed to be into a couple for ~aesthetic reasons~ or there is a ton of ship tease but no canonical confirmation, as with many rpgs of the 90s and 2000s, then I'm piling on all the aesthetics that appealed to me. If I'm feeling in the mood for something a bit more fucked up, fraught and ultimately doomed threesome is great: Link/Zelda/Ganondorf and Link/Midna/Zelda (Legend of Zelda), Anakin/Obi-Wan/Padme (Star Wars), Jean/Scott/Logan (X-Men) and Shinji/Kaworu/Asuka... even throw Rei in there, whatever (NGE). Finally there are ships for whom it just Makes Sense. Finn/Rey/Poe (Star Wars), Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna (Sailor Moon), Watanuki/Doumeki/Himawari (xxxHolic) just to name a few. Or ships featuring two people who are super horny and flirty in general that I can easily see adding a third (or fourth or many), which describes almost all the horny situations I'm submitting my main fandom (MASH) darlings to inside my brain and sometimes on paper. ftr there are ships for whom I think it truly doesn't work and if it's me saying that then trust me, I've tried. there's a good amount of ships I enjoy without it too, but i think i'm probably in the minority in that whenever i get into a fandom i'm holding three or more swatches up at time trying to figure out what can work.

I have a grudge against canon SS and canon-compliant post-ending S/NS, and just about every pairing in which one side is "taming" Sasuke or whatever and "putting him in his place". Very bad trope, not reccomended, likely to make me hate you from a distance.

My BROTP for them

It depends on the situation but Team 7 (part 1), Team Taka, Itachi and Shisui (non-massacre AU) and Obito (also non-massacre and Obito lives a normal life in watch he is the annoying cousin who can't get Sasuke to like him no matter how hard he tries)

My OTP for them 

I honestly really don't have any Sasuke ships I feel strongly for. I most consistently like pairing him with anyone in Taka I guess.

My second choice pairing for them 

I'm still fond of Sasuke/Gaara and think they should talk to each other because the specific aspect of knowing a betrayal from someone they cared deeply for and then learning a lot of what they've experienced was a lie is something they can both see each other in. And while I find the jokes funny, I'm not the biggest fan of the "Gaara hates Sasuke because he likes Naruto so much" thing. Gaara's learned empathy from him, if he sees Sasuke making his own efforts to move on from his more turbulent life I have no problem imagining he could have an interest in speaking to him.
