The Tracker’s Daughter

Word Count: 5,057 Alec x reader Oneshot Warnings: Fluff, NSFW

Demetri had been around for over a thousand years and had undertaken many missions on behalf of the Volturi Kings in order to keep their world safe, a secret from the human world but nothing could have prepared him for the surprise he got during a mission in Oxford, England that he, Felix and the twins were on. He tracked some vampires who were on the Volturi’s radar for leaving a trail of dead bodies in their wake, more accurately in their homes without even attempting to dispose of them or cover their tracks. The human authorities were starting to take note of these ‘unexplained deaths’ and thought them to be the work of a serial killer.

Once the vampires were taken care of and the house was quiet the sound of a heartbeat could be heard “There’s a human in the house” Felix said as he turned his head towards the stairs “Really, what gave it away?” Jane asked sarcastically and Alec choked back a laugh as Demetri went upstairs to investigate “I’ll deal with it, start thinking of how you’re going to cover this up.”

Demetri followed the heartbeat to a room at the end of the hallway and carefully opened the door to reveal a child’s bedroom. The walls were painted pink and a wooden toy chest sat next to a small bookcase full of children’s books. Demetri felt his heart ache knowing what needed to be done. Killing human children was something Demetri avoided at all costs, seeing them as innocents and was glad that the Kings never allowed children to partake in the ‘tours’ of the castle.

Demetri slowly walked over to the bed and crouched down and lifting the duvet slightly noticed a three-year-old girl crying silently and began coaxing the little girl out from under her bed gently. “It’s ok…I’m not going to hurt you. I promise” His voice low as he didn’t want to scare her further. She scooted back towards the wall shaking her head. “My name is Demetri, what’s your name darling?” He asked softly “Y/N” She replied low after a few moments, her heartbeat fast due her being scared. He smiled at her warmly and held his hand out to her “Please come out Y/N so we can talk. I promise you are safe now” She looked up at him and soon as he looked into her eyes he felt something snap into place and all he could think about was keeping her safe. He held her close and breathed in her scent as he felt her tiny arms wrap tightly around his neck. “Let’s go home little one” He said softly and made his way downstairs. “What the…” “This is Y/N and she is coming home with me” Demetri cut off Felix off and he could tell by his friend’s tone that this was not up for discussion.

Demetri took Y/N home and raised her as his daughter as he thought this would be safer than leaving her to be discovered by the human authorities and them asking her questions which could lead to her telling them about him and the other vampires that had killed her family.

The Kings understood and supported Demetri’s decision to raise Y/N in the castle. “She will be loved and protected forever” Marcus smiled at Demetri seeing the start of a familial bond between the tracker and the human child. “We will look after her when you are away on missions” Athenodora said with a warm smile “Yes, and we will educate her in the castle” Sulpicia added, pointing to herself, Athenodora and the Kings. “Thank you for understanding the reason behind my decision and supporting me in raising her” Demetri smiled at the five royals and bowed his head “You are very welcome” Aro replied.

Y/N stayed in Demetri’s quarters with him and Jane offered to help him with her as he had no idea how to care for a child. “I bought her some clothes and pyjamas” Jane said to Demetri and watched Y/N curiously “Thank you Jane” He replied and took the bags from her. Jane offered to bath Y/N but she refused insisting Demetri had to do it. Once Demetri bathed her and got her dressed into her new pyjamas he read her a bedtime story and spent the night reading in bed beside her. She woke up in the night crying from a nightmare so he held her close soothing her back to sleep.

Time jump – Fourteen years later

Alec had always felt protective of Y/N as she grew up and found her fascinating and as she got older, he felt ‘drawn’ to her and couldn’t work out why, so he decided to speak to the one person he knew would likely have the answer.

He knocked on the door of Marcus’ private study and waited to be invited in “Come in” Marcus called out and Alec opened the door “Sorry to bother you master, but I need your help” “No trouble my boy, take a seat and tell me what’s bothering you” Marcus replied softly “It’s to do with Y/N” Alec began and Marcus nodded, trying to hide his smile “I have always felt protective of her and I care for her, although she never refers to me as her uncle as she does Felix…” “Does that bother you?” Marcus asks cutting him off “No, master. In fact, I’m glad she doesn’t…especially as I’m starting to feel ‘drawn’ to her…although I don’t know why” He replied “Don’t you? Can you not think of a reason for your feelings changing towards her now that she is grown up?” Marcus asked, curious to see if Alec would catch on. Alec sat there for a few moments thinking; realisation flashed through his eyes, something Marcus noticed “Mate. She’s…oh no…D-Demetri’s going to kill me…” Alec stuttered out, before swallowing hard “I don’t think he’ll like the idea of you of being mates, not at first…especially as you watched her grow up, but I don’t think he’ll kill you” Marcus replied softly as he rose and moved to sit in the chair beside Alec “He wouldn’t hurt her that way” Marcus added as he placed his hand on Alec’s arm “What should I do?” “Talk to Demetri about the situation before you speak with Y/N. He’ll appreciate that more than you know” Marcus advised “Are you sure about the bond?” Alec asked and Marcus raised an eyebrow “Sorry master” “Don’t be. I can confirm the mate ties are there and they will only get stronger as time goes on and the bond will fall into place when the time is right.” Alec nodded and felt nervous of what the future held for him and Y/N.

Alec made his way to Demetri’s room and took a deep unneeded breath before knocking on the door and opening it to reveal Demetri sitting at his desk. “Demetri can I have word with you please?” “Of course Alec. Come in” “Actually can we leave the castle, maybe go hunting? It’s a…private matter” “Ok, lets go Alec.” He replied and put his paperwork away and made his way to the door, grabbing his jacket from the coat stand. The two of them leave the castle and make their way to the Tuscan countryside, Alec trying to get his thoughts together along the way.

“Do you really want to hunt or just talk?” Demetri asked “T-talk please” Alec said feeling nervous “Ok, whenever you’re ready Alec” Demetri sat on a fallen tree waiting for Alec to start. “Demetri, I-I have found my mate…” “That’s great news Alec” Demetri cuts him off, smiling “I fear you may not be so happy for me once you learn who she is” Demetri stares at him for a moment thinking, observing Alec’s nervous behaviour. “It’s Y/N isn’t it?” He asks and Alec nods “I have always felt protective of her and I-I have only recently started to feel to drawn to her. Mar-Marcus confirmed it earlier today…” “He advised you to talk to me before you spoke to…” “Yes Demetri. The ties are there but…if you don’t approve, I will stay away” Alec cut him off this time “No, you won’t Alec, that’ll only hurt you both and I will not see my daughter hurt” “Thank you Demetri. You took the news better than I thought” “Well, Y/N was born to be with you. I won’t stand in the way of you and her being together. Just…don’t force it, let the bond form naturally. That’s all I ask” Alec smiled and nodded at Demetri, hoping Y/N will accept him as her mate as easily as Demetri accepted the news.

Demetri spoke to Heidi about Alec discovering that Y/N was his mate, needing to speak to someone about it. “Alec has spoken to me and advised that he has found his mate…in Y/N” Demetri paused and waited for her reaction “Has Marcus confirmed it?” “Yes, he has” “Dem, how long has Alec known?” “Not long, he had his suspicions and spoke to Marcus, and then to me. I have told Alec that I will not stand in his way of being with Y/N and I hope Jane doesn’t interfere either as it’ll only hurt Y/N and Alec in the long run.” Heidi nods and places her hand on his arm “At least we know he’ll love and protect her…and she’ll continue to live in the castle, which is a good thing” Demetri nodded and smiled at Heidi’s reply.

“Y/N, may I come in?” Alec asks as he knocks on her open bedroom door “Of course Alec” He enters her room and closes the door, taking a seat at the end of her bed. “I have something I need to talk to you about Y/N” “Sounds serious, are you ok?” She asks concerned “I’m ok…I need you to listen to what I’m going to tell you before you respond. Ok?” She nods and he continues “Y/N I have always felt protective of you, but more recently I have felt drawn to you...in a way I never would have thought possible” He paused trying to collect his thoughts for a moment “Y/N, I-I’m your…that is…you’re my mate” He was looking down at his hands and missed the smile she gave him “Alec” He didn’t look up at her, so she tried again “Alec, I accept you as my mate” His head whipped up, his eyes meeting hers, a look of shock etched onto his face “Wh-what did you say?” “I said I accept you as my mate” She repeated and leant forward to kiss his cheek, if he could have blushed, he would have.

Demetri heard the conversation and smiled, happy that Y/N accepted Alec and amused at the way Alec had told her ‘Not exactly the smoothest way to tell a girl she’s your mate” He thought to himself and chuckled low as he made his way back to his room.

Y/N and Alec had been dating for a little over a month when they shared their first kiss and it was awkward as hell for both of them, all tongues and teeth. “Should have asked Demetri for tips” Felix said laughing, Santiago nodded in agreement before adding “Oh wait, no you couldn’t cause you’re dating his daughter” Santiago and Felix continued to laugh “I hate the pair of you” Alec growled at them and left the room. “Practice makes perfect” Chelsea said as she passed him in the hall “Thanks” He mumbled in response.

Y/N was ready to take the next step in her relationship with Alec but was worried about it as her room was opposite her dad’s and her uncle Felix’s room was in between her dad and her boyfriend’s rooms. She decided to speak to Gianna as she was the only other human in the castle and not related to any of the vampires. “I see the predicament you are in, either way your dad and your uncle are going to hear you being intimate with Alec” “I know” Y/N put her head down, resting it on her arms on the table. “I have a few suggestions for you…” “I’m all ears” Y/N said lifting her head and cutting her off “…You could use one of the guest rooms in the East Wing of the castle or wait until your dad and Felix are on guard duty one night or away on a mission” “That won’t work with their hearing and I don’t want my first time interrupted by them walking in on us” Y/N replied before putting her head back on her arms. “Sorry sweetie, I don’t know what else to suggest” Gianna patted her head softly.

Unbeknown to Gianna and Y/N, Dora had been nearby and overheard their conversation and decided to step in and help her ‘granddaughter.’ She arranged a meeting with Caius, Aro and Marcus to discuss her idea, Sulpicia came along to support Dora’s idea. “Next Friday night I need you…” She looked and pointed at the three Kings in turn “…to send Demetri, Felix and Jane away for the weekend on a mission or something” “Why?” Caius asked confused “You didn’t mention Alec, why’s that?” Aro asked, curiosity shining in his ruby eyes. “Firstly, because I said I need the three of them gone for the weekend and secondly, I didn’t include Alec as he is needed here.” Marcus smiled knowingly and waited for his brothers to catch on. A few moments later, it clicked for them both “You want Demetri and Felix out of the way so Alec and Y/N can have some ‘alone’ time and by sending Jane with them, it’s less suspicious” Caius said “Exactly my love” Dora replied “So, are you going to help?” Sulpicia asked, eyeing her husband “Of course, consider it done darling” Aro responded.

Y/N couldn’t help feeling excited when she found out her dad and Felix were going to be on a mission the next weekend, and the fact that Jane was going too was a bonus as her room was the other side of Alec’s. Y/N’s nerves began to sink in the closer it got to the weekend but she was determined to progress her relationship with Alec. Alec on the other hand had no idea what Y/N was planning for their date night as she was worried he might accidentally spill the beans to his sister, Felix or Santiago.

Y/N had arranged dinner for two on Alec’s balcony and had hidden something ‘comfortable’ for her to change in to later in Alec’s bathroom after he had finished getting ready for guard duty. Alec smiled warmly at his mate when he returned to his room for date night to see that she had arranged a romantic meal for two and hung some fairy lights on the balcony to create a romantic ambience. He drank a glass of blood whilst she ate a simple pasta dish. “I would have eaten with you sweetheart” “I know Alec but then you’d have to deal with it afterwards and it would kill the mood” She replied with a smile and stroked his hand.

Once dinner was over Y/N excused herself and entered the bathroom to change and to give herself a pep talk “You got this Y/N. You love him and he loves you. It’ll be fine” “Y/N are you ok?” Alec called out “Yea, be out in a sec.” Y/N took a deep breath before stepping out of the bathroom dressed in a pale pink babydoll and matching shorts. “Wow” Alec breathed out and Y/N smiled at his reaction as she walked over to him. Y/N stopped in front him of him and his hands went to her waist and pulled her closer “You look beautiful” Her cheeks flushed a little at the compliment before she leant forward and kissed him. She bit his lip and he parted his lips allowing her to deepen the kiss, soft moans leaving both of them. Y/N climbed onto his lap so she was straddling him and ran her fingers through his hair before pulling away to breath. Alec resumed the kiss after a moment and ran his hands up her body over the baby doll and felt himself get hard, something Y/N noticed causing her to smile into the kiss as she grinded against him. “Are you sure?” Alec asked low “Yes.”

Alec laid her down carefully before quickly locking his door and removing his shoes and socks. He walked back to the bed and admired his mate lying on his bed. “Want some help?” She asked, nodding at him and he nodded in response, a smile on his lips. She crawled towards the end of the bed and leant up on her knees and undid the buttons on his shirt pushing it up over his shoulders before letting it fall to the floor. He leant forward and captured her lips in a heated kiss as her hands made their way downwards over his chest and stomach, stopping above the waistband of his trousers. She pulled away to breath and smiled at him before undoing his belt and trousers, letting them fall to the floor. He stepped out of them, kicking them aside and kissed her again, holding her hands in his.

Y/N laid down on the bed watching as Alec crawled towards her, stopping when he was above her being careful to prop himself up on his arms. She felt his erection pressing into her thigh as he leant down kissing her hungrily, his hand moving up her side. He cups her breast and squeezes gently, a soft mewl leaving her lips and he smiles into the next kiss and repeats his actions. He sits up slightly lifting her with him and removes the babydoll before she lays back against the bed again watching as he removes her shorts and his boxers. He added a second finger after a few moments and continued to move them within her, ensuring to brush them against her inner walls. Y/N began to writhe beneath him a little and felt a cold hand move to her hip, holding her in place. Alec could tell Y/N was close to her release and pushed his fingers deeper inside her, hitting that spot over and over again. The time came for Y/N to become immortal and everyone was curious as to who would change her, Alec, her mate or Demetri, her dad. “Alec, can we talk about my being changed please?” Y/N asked as they walked hand in hand through the garden one evening “Of course, what did you want to discuss?” “I want my dad to be the one to turn me. I want to cement our father / daughter bond” She replied and watched his face for his reaction “I understand Y/N” He smiled at her “Really?” “Yes. Really. If I’m honest I’m happy with your decision, it takes the pressure off of me changing you” He pressed his lips to hers “All I ask is that I am in the room with you when he turns you.” She smiled back at him, nodding before pressing her lips to his “I love you Alec” “I love you more Y/N” He wrapped his arms around her “Let’s go tell your dad of your decision.”

Y/N and Alec made their way back into the castle finding Demetri in the family room with Felix, Jane and Heidi. “Here come the lovebirds” Felix teased as they entered the room, everyone ignored his comment. “Dad I have something I’d like to talk to you about…” “You better not be pregnant at 17, because I’ll kill him” Demetri cuts her off and glares at Alec “No. Oh my god. No dad. I’m not pregnant” She replies, shocked that he’d think that but is happy when Demetri visibly relaxes. “Then what you would like to discuss?” He asks. “Why does the thought of Y/N being pregnant by me put you in a murderous mood?” Alec asks clearly offended by Demetri’s reaction; Demetri growls low “Alec” “Brother” Y/N, Heidi and Jane say at the same time “Not the time” Heidi adds looking at Alec, who nods once.

Y/N turns back to Demetri and sits beside him “I want to discuss being changed” She says and notices her dad seems nervous “I want you to be the one to turn me…?” “Really?” He asks smiling, although he is a little surprised “Really. Everyone knows I’m your daughter but I want to truly be your daughter” His eyes fill with venom and he pulls her onto his lap holding her close “Knowing that you want me to turn you means more to me than you’ll ever know. I love you” “I love you too dad” She kissed his cheek “Think of it as a reward for raising a human daughter for 14 years, not to mention eating all those baked goods despite the fact it tasted foul and you had to throw it back up” Everyone chuckled at this. He placed his hands on her cheeks and looked into her eyes “You have definitely made the last 14 years very…interesting around here but I wouldn’t change a single minute of it” She placed her hands on his cheeks “Really dad?” “Really. I am proud to call you my daughter” He kissed her forehead and continued to hold her.

Demetri agreed to Alec being in the room when he turned her, knowing that Alec wanted to help her with the initial burning sensation. “Thank you Alec, for accepting her decision to have me change her. It means a lot” “Can I tell you a secret Demetri?” Alec asks and he nods “I would have declined her request if she had asked me to change her” “Why? She’s your mate” Demetri sounded confused “I know that, but I know how much she means to you. If I’m being honest, I don’t want the responsibility of looking after your daughter as a newborn. As her mate, I’d rather help you train her instead” Demetri was shocked and just stared at him for a few moments “That is a very grown-up view of the situation and I am proud to call you my son-in-law” He squeezed Alec’s shoulder gently “I may only look 18 but I’m nearly as old as you. It was bound to happen eventually” They both chuckled “Y/N told me she wants to cement her father / daughter bond with you and having your venom running through her does that for her” Demetri nodded in understanding “Oh and don’t think I didn’t catch you calling me your son-in-law, dad” “Watch it” Demetri growled back pointing a finger at him, again they both chuckled.

“I’m going to stay here and let your dad take you out for your first hunt, and teaching newborns to hunt is something your dad is good at seeing as he trains the guards” Alec said looking them “Thank you Alec” Y/N kissed his lips and Alec wrapped his arm around her pulling her closer “I don’t need to see that” Demetri said as he left the room “Meet me at the entrance” Demetri called over his shoulder.

Ten minutes later Y/N and Alec walked towards Demetri holding hands “I thought you two said goodbye upstairs” “They did but I told them that Alec and I would join the two of you…a family hunting trip” Jane said looking at Demetri who smiled back at her nodding. Footsteps sounded behind them and they turned to see Heidi in jeans and a jumper “What are you wearing?” Alec asked surprised “An outfit that’s suitable for a family hunting trip” Heidi said with a smile and Demetri raised an eyebrow at her “I helped raise her and I want to be a part of her first hunt” “When was the last time you hunted?” Demetri asked, amusement clearly shown on his face “Shut up Dem. It’s like riding a bike, you never forget” She replied and walked past them towards the doors. Jane chuckled and took Demetri’s hand leading him out of the castle, Alec and Y/N followed behind their fingers intertwined.

They stopped once they reached the forest in Tuscany “There’s a camping site about two miles east of here” Demetri said and the others nodded before they all took off in that direction. Y/N smelt the humans and growled, eyes darkening with hunger and ran towards them. Demetri ran forward and grabbed his daughter by the waist “Wait little one. Focus on your surroundings” “Hold your breath sweetheart, it’ll help” Alec said and Y/N nodded. “Decide which human you want and be quick when you grab them so they don’t run and make sure to hold them securely before you bite their neck” Y/N nodded, taking in her dad’s advice. They all watched the human campers for a few moments before Demetri whispered “Now” They all ran forward and Y/N grabbed the dark-haired man around the throat holding him to her chest and bit down on his neck, the warm blood flowing down her throat easing the burn. She released him and he fell to the ground next to the blonde-haired female Jane had a dropped a moment earlier. Jane chuckled seeing Y/N’s top splattered with blood. “Everyone’s a bit messy the first time they hunt” Demetri said softly and wiped the drop of blood from her lip. “You did so well sweetheart” Alec said as he wrapped his hand around her wrist and pulled her into him and kissed her “I love you Alec” “I love you too” Alec replied and kissed her again.

Demetri and Alec trained Y/N over the next few months and the Kings were impressed by her calm demeanour considering she is a newborn. “I think growing up around all of us and knowing that becoming an immortal was her destiny, she had time to adjust to the news which has helped greatly” Caius said as he and his brothers watched Y/N take down Santiago with ease during a training session. “True. I also think having Demetri as her father helped, they always had a strong bond and that has only gotten stronger since he turned her” Marcus said with a smile. “I’m glad that Y/N found her mate in Alec as it means our family stays together and he is someone Demetri trusts with his daughter’s life and happiness.” Aro added smiling. “I don’t think Demetri would have accepted another so easily” Caius added, knowing that he wouldn’t have accepted an outsider as Y/N’s mate without first ensuring he and Demetri put them through some rigorous training, among other things. Marcus and Aro smiled knowingly at Caius “None of us would have easily accepted an outsider as our granddaughter’s mate” Aro said and his brother’s nodded.

“HA! BEAT YOU AGAIN!” Y/N called out loudly as she pinned Felix for the second time that week. “Well done Y/N” Demetri said with a proud smile on his face. “Thanks dad” Y/N smiled back at him. “Yes, well done. That was truly amazing to watch” Alec added before pulling her in for a kiss. “I love you Alec” “I love you too sweetheart.”

Alec smiled at his mate as she tackled her dad to the floor, catching him off guard “Gotcha.” A shocked gasp leaving Demetri’s lips before he reacted and rolled them over so she was pinned beneath him. “I win” He chuckled looking down at his daughter who sighed in defeat as he was the one vampire who she couldn’t seem to beat in a ‘fight’ during her training sessions.

‘I’m looking forward to spending forever with my Y/N’ Alec thought to himself, happy that he finally got his happy ending.

Anyone ever had Tumblr just not show the content they tagged?

I just posted the Volturi one-shot fic I mentioned working on about a month ago here, and I gave it all the appropriate tags but its not showing up anywhere. The post has very few views and I know that's not normal. Do you think it could be length? Should I break it up in to separate posts to see if that helps?

person A comes closer to the lips of person B by mistake and it comes to the first kiss

Lost in thought, Y/N sat on the windowsill in the Volterra library. The book in her lap was long forgotten, as was Santiago, who stood in the corner of the room and was supposed to keep an eye on Y/N. His job was to make sure that nothing happened to Y/N. He was also the only one who could keep an eye on her. His job was to make sure that nothing happened to Y/N. Since she was the only person on Volterra with the secretary, the kings felt she needed someone to be by her side and protect her in case of emergency. Since Aro put a lot of trust in Santiago, this became his task.

Sighing, Y/N thought back to the events of the last weeks. Her life up to this point had been just like that of any other young girl, except that she knew of the existence of the supernatural. This fact had been a minor matter until the day Y/N followed Bella to Volterra.

Actually, Y/N wanted nothing more than to keep her older sister from doing anything stupid, but the moment she entered the throne room and looked into the eyes of Alec Volturi, one of the witch twins and at the same time one of the most dangerous vampires of his kind, her fate was sealed.

It turned out that Y/N was the mate of the vampire and nothing would make one of the Volturi ever let her go home again. Even though Y/N should be happy that she no longer felt the need to constantly keep her sister out of trouble, the loneliness was getting to her. Alec barely spoke to her , some days even pretended she didn't even exist. Demetri, with whom she had made friends, always tried to build Y/N up with the guarantee that it was not her fault, but the past the twins had lived through. Y/N was aware that the blond vampire wanted to cheer her up with these words, but at the end of the day his words did not give her comfort or help her feel less lonely.

"I was called to the throne room. Will you stay here or shall I accompany you to your room?" Santiago looked at Y/N questioningly. She shook her head. " I'll stay here and wait for you , don't worry!" Thankfully he nodded and disappeared. Again Y/N devoted herself to the sunset, leaning her forehead against the cool window pane. Where not three minutes later she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

" It would have been better , you would have taken her to her room." Demetri looked down at Y/N's sleeping body with a grin. Santiago nodded with a smile , bending over slightly to pick Y/N up so he could carry her to her room. He paused in his movement when he noticed a presence at the entrance of the library. Alec, who wanted to check on Y/N, stood there frozen for a few seconds, until he broke away and crossed the distance between him and the others. Promptly he looked at Santiago and Demetri. Surprised, they looked at each other, nodded and stepped aside.

The black-haired vampire copied Santiago's gesture and carefully picked up his mate , but stiffened briefly as Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck as if of her own accord and buried her head in his chest. Leaving the library and entering Y/N's room, he carefully lowered her into the blankets and pillows of her bed. As he did so, he leaned forward so far that his lips were just before hers. Startled by the sudden closeness, Alec froze, while Y/N, who must have noticed the coldness of his lips, opened her eyes wearily. When Alec and Y/N realized how close they were, for the first time since the young girl had arrived at the castle, the vampire and human's eyes widened. Both just looked at each other for another moment and without another second of hesitation, Alec closed the gap between him and his mate.

Person A lets his thumb wander over person B's lips until person A can't stand it anymore and kisses person B.

"It's none of my business, but aren't you going to answer it?" Felix looked at Y/N in confusion and pointed to her vibrating cell phone. Both sat with Jane and Demetri in the living room provided for the main Volturi guards. Alec had been given an assignment to do alone, which was surprising because Jane and he usually did everything together. Annoyed, Y/N exhaled and reached for her cell phone. All three vampires raised one of their eyebrows questioningly. "Bella just wants to make sure I'm alive and explain to me again how evil you all are!" Without anyone else being able to respond, Y/N stood up, took the call and left the room.

"What can I do for you sister?" Y/N stood by the window in her room and looked out as she often does. Without waiting a second Bella started to talk to her sister. Since Y/N already knew what Bella would tell her , her attention settled on her lips. She absentmindedly touched them with her fingertips.

Not much had really changed since the kiss between her and Alec, except for the fact that Alec was now avoiding Y/N completely. The young girl slowly didn't understand the world anymore and began to doubt that anything would ever change between her and Alec or that it would come to a second kiss.

" Y/N are you even listening to me?" Bella's voice brought the younger of the two back to reality. " To be honest no." Bella groaned in annoyance. " I just want to know if you're okay and the promise to keep you as far away from every vampire in this castle as possible!" Y/N laughed bitterly. " Do you actually listen to yourself? I live with these vampires , I can't avoid any of them. Even if the castle is very big!" " But you have to try and especially don't let Alec get to you!" Annoyed Y/N closed her eyes and took a deep breath. " Let me explain this to you for a minute Bella. I'm Alec's mate and I'll be damned if I'm going to stay away from him. Besides, I don't understand what your problem is! You were the one who took me to Italy because you couldn't stay away from Edward!" " This is something completely different!" Shouted her sister into the receiver. " And in what way?" " Edward is a nice vampire , Alec and the rest of the Volturi drink human blood." " Just because Edward hunts Bambi doesn't make him a saint!" "Y/N I mean it!" The young woman snapped her eyes open. " And I'm not? I'm not going to stay away from Alec , because I've fallen in love with him in the weeks I've been here and no matter what you say about him or the others I don't care. I've made friends with most of them and the three kings won't even leave me alone without a guard.... Holy crap!" Y/N was just turning around to her bed when she cried out and dropped her cell phone in shock. Alec sat at the end of the bed and looked at her scrutinizingly.

" Y/N?" Bella's voice brought her out of her shock after a few seconds. She quickly bent down to pick up the cell phone. " I'll call you again later..." she hung up. Pressing the cell phone to her chest , as if it could protect her , she looked questioningly at Alec." How much did you get exactly?" Alec rose from his seat , his eyes still on Y/N , as he walked up to her and stopped in front of her , giving her the feeling the black haired vampire was looking directly into her soul . With her head tilted upwards, she looked at Alec insecurely. " Everything , I had to witness ."

Y/N held her breath as she noticed her cheeks beginning to glow. Lowering her head, she wished for nothing more than to sink into the ground. Surprised, she flinched as Alec gently stroked her cheek with his index finger. He enjoyed the goose bumps that formed on Y/N's body. Slowly and with his index finger now under her chin , he made Y/N look at him again and breathe again.

" Is there any particular reason why you are blushing so much?" Alec now placed both hands on the cheeks of Y/N's face and let the thumb of his right hand wander over her lips. His gaze continued to bore into Y/N's. She opened her mouth, but couldn't get a single word out. Alec grinned at her and came a little closer to her lips. Shortly before, however, he stopped. " Did you speak the truth when you told your sister that you fell in love with me?" Looking at him with wide eyes , Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat , nodded and , in a small moment of courage on her part , she overcame the last few inches between them . Grinning , Alec returned the kiss , enjoying it , as his mate wrapped her arms around his neck , while he placed his from her cheeks to her waist , pulling Y/N as close as he could . They both loosened for lack of air Y/N's side.

Forehead to forehead they stood in front of the window in Y/N room. The sun's rays that had sought their way into the room lay on Alec's skin and made him glisten. Smiling softly, Y/N looked dreamily into Alec's eyes. But a worry crept into the back of her mind and so Y/N asked him " You're not avoiding me now are you?" "No" Alec put his lips on hers again to confirm his words.

Good day / goodbye kisses without the couple really notice them

"Alec told me you've been ignoring Bella's calls lately." Jane sat down on the couch with Y/N and her question caught the attention of Felix and Demetri, who had just come in. Y/N closed her book, looked up at Jane and nodded.

Jane knew that Alec and Y/N were now officially a couple, so she tried to build some kind of relationship with her brother's mate, which worked. Both spent time together whenever Alec and she had separate tasks to do and noticed during that time that both had found a friend in each other that both had always been looking for .

" She keeps trying to make me know that I will die here if I trust even one of you." Felix laughed out. " Yet you are safer here than anywhere else." Demetri nodded in agreement. " If we leave aside for a moment the fact that you have managed to wrap almost every Guard and the Kings themselves around your little finger , you are the mate of one of the twins . You must be tired of life if anyone dares to touch a hair on your head!" Jane looked at him annoyed and Demetri raised his hands defensively.

" Who has to be tired of life for what?" Alec entered the room and looked questioningly at Demetri. Before he could answer, Alec leaned down to Y/N and kissed her. " Hey" smiling, she returned the greeting and snuggled into his side as he sat down next to her. Demetri and Felix looked at each other in confusion. They were namely still on the stand that Alec and Y/N were avoiding each other. "Tired of life is the one who hurts Y/N, since she is the mate of you and so this one not only starts a fight with you but also with me!" Jane had to stifle a smile at the stupid faces of the other two. Alec nodded in understanding and looked at the book, opened again, in Y/N's hands.

Demetri started to ask what he had missed, but again he did not get a word in edgewise. Santiago came in and looked at Y/N and Alec. " Y/N Marcus wants to show you something. He asked me to accompany you to him ." Nodding , she rose , gave Alec her book and kissed him . " See you later." Already she had disappeared with Santiago.

" Did that really just happen?" Demetri looked after Y/N and then at Alec. Felix murmured at the same time, " Since when are you.... I mean what have you been?" Now both twins couldn't suppress their smiles. " Y/N and I are together and yes Demetri you saw right!" Felix turned to Jane. " You knew, didn't you?" Demetri snorted. " Of course she knew , she always knows everything that has to do with Alec and lately everything that has to do with Y/N too!"

Stolen kisses in abandoned corridors

A knock made Y/N jump up in her bed. Confused, she looked around the room and realized that this was not her room. "Yes?" she called out. The door opened and Santiago looked at her with a smile.

Y/N had noticed that everyone in the castle smiled in her presence. Marcus had told her that it was because of her way of accepting everyone as they were and not letting any prejudices she had learned at the Cullens cloud her opinion.

"Alec said that you were here. He wanted to wake you himself, but Master Aro sent him and the rest on a mission." A warm feeling spread through Y/N's stomach, because now that Santiago mentioned Alec, she remembered that he had taken her to his room last night and asked if she wanted to move in. Y/N immediately agreed and spent the night in her new room with Alec by her side.

"Thank you Santiago. Are you with me again all day today then?" The addressed shook his head with a malicious grin. "When Heidi heard that you were alone today, she asked the masters if she could take you shopping. It's supposed to be cloudy in the city today." Y/N screwed up her face. "Shopping?" Nodding, Santiago laughed, knowing how much Y/N hated shopping.

" Y/N are you ready for our day?" Heidi forced herself past Santiago who had to pull himself together not to laugh out loud. Slowly the young girl got up from the bed and eyed Santiago angrily. Her angry look, however, quickly turned into a copy of the grin Santiago had shown her, which made him look confused." Can we take Santiago with us too? Then we'll have someone to carry our bags." Santiago looked at Y/N in shock and Heidi clapped her hands with joy. " That's a great idea! Get dressed and then we can go right away." Heidi turned to Santiago and put a hand on his shoulder. " I will inform the masters that you are coming with us. They will be thrilled for sure. Another one to keep an eye on Y/N!" With that she was gone just as quickly as she had come. "Should I be offended now that she spoke as if I were a small child or gloating now that I don't have to suffer alone?" Santiago looked at her offended. "Thank you, I got around shopping with Heidi for almost a hundred years and now.... you can be glad that I like you human!" The vampire left the room so that Y/N could get dressed.

" I haven't had this much fun in a long time!" The group of three just entered the castle of Volterra. Heidi was beaming all over her face , while Santiago looked like a porter and Y/N couldn't feel her feet. Y/N started to answer but caught sight of Demetri and ran to him. " When did you guys get back?" Demetri laughed. " I wish you a good evening too Y/N." A slight blush came over Y/N face and she mumbled a soft 'sorry' . Grinning , the blond vampire looked at the young girl that had become like a sister to him in the last months . " We've been back since noon today and we heard you were kidnapped by Santiago and Heidi to go shopping." Santiago looked at Demetri annoyed. " It was supposed to be just Heidi and Y/N , but the little devil spawn there in front of you had the great idea of appointing me pack mule!" " If you hadn't laughed at me , I would have spared you!" Y/N ignored Santiago's indignant look and turned back to Demetri, who was already imagining what it would be like to have Y/N running around here as a newborn. " He is in the throne room!" Demetri answered and watched with a smile as Y/N disappeared in the direction of the throne room. She could walk around alone by now, since no one would harm the girl anymore, she was liked too much.

Just as Y/N turned into the corridor to the hall, she was grabbed by the upper arm, pulled into a side corridor and pushed against the wall. She wanted to scream out, but a cool hand put itself over her mouth to prevent her from doing so. A very familiar grin and familiar pair of red eyes looked mischievously at her and the grip around her loosened. " Are you crazy? I'm still human , means I can still have a heart attack too!" Y/N placed one of her hands dramatically on her chest " It wasn't that bad now!" Alec laughed , put his forehead to hers , closed his eyes and placed his right hand over the one on her heart . He loved to hear her heart beat or feel it under his palm. He loved knowing that no matter when he touched her or she just looked at him or he stood inches from her , her heart always seemed to beat faster . " I missed you." He murmured with his eyes still closed , while listening to the sound of Y/N heartbeat with a satisfied smile . " I missed you too" Alec opened his eyes again to look Y/N in her beautiful ones. Carefully , as if his mate would break if he acted too quickly , he placed his lips on hers . Both lost themselves in each other and didn't seem to want to get out of their little world anytime soon.

Further down the hall Santiago carried Y/N's purchases to her room and heard, through his vampire hearing, that the two lovers had found each other. Only half-heartedly annoyed, he turned to Demetri." Please don't tell me they're making out like teenagers in an alcove of the castle while I get to bring Y/N's groceries to her room?" The addressed put a hand on his buddy's shoulder. " I so don't feel sorry for you at all!"

A breathed "kiss me" to interrupt the other

"I just want to know why you always have to annoy me!" Demetri looked at the red-faced Y/N innocently. "We don't know what you mean at all Y/N." Felix, standing next to the girl with a grin , ran a hand through Y/N's hair. " You know exactly what I mean!" The girl grumbled and tried to fix her hair. " We just think it's mega cute how you always blush when it comes to Alec." Santiago laughed. "It's called being in love, you old farts!"

The laughter of the three vampires ended and an indignant expression formed on their faces. " What did you call us?" Felix stepped towards them. " I said old men. Sacks." Now it was Y/N who had to laugh out loud. " Well wait!" The young girl was wide-eyed, turned around and fled in the direction where she knew Alec and Jane would be standing.

But before she even got close to them , she was over Demetri's shoulder. "Well, not so bad for an old fart!" " Vampire speed , does not make your age go away!" Felix and Santiago , who were now walking behind the two , had to stop laughing .

" Where are you carrying me anyway?!" Without answering Demetri put her back on her own legs after a short time. She slammed against a chest. Alec looked confused as he put his hands on his girlfriend's hips and pulled her towards him so she wouldn't land on her butt. The young girl held onto Alec's top in surprise, blushed again and looked at Jane. She looked at Y/N questioningly.

" See, we were right!" Santiago appeared in front of them with Felix , apparently they had calmed down. Felix laughed again and Demetri looked at Y/N with a self-satisfied grin.

" What was who right about here!" Alec looked questioningly around. Before Y/N could answer and defend himself at the same time , Felix interfered. Since he , Santiago and Demetri had made it their business to annoy the young girl with their blushes and at the same time try to make Alec jealous , he wanted to leave the black haired vampire in the dark. " That you are the only one who can make your poison dwarf of a girlfriend mouth dead!" " Poison dwarf?!" Outraged, Y/N broke away from her friend. " Poison dwarf" Demetri confirmed. "You're lucky Y/N isn't a vampire yet!" Laughed Santiago and Jane steered, " Otherwise you'd be the one running away now!" , to that. Demetri tousled Y/N's hair. " I think so too." Annoyed, she slapped Demetri's hand away. " You three are like the big brothers I never wanted to have!" Once again Demetri tousled her hair and disappeared laughing loudly in the direction of the throne room. Felix ran after him, pausing briefly to pat Y/N's cheek and say, " You'd miss us if we weren't here anymore!" Y/N just grumbled and avoided Santiago who also wanted to brush her hair as he followed the others.

Y/N turned to the two siblings and paused when she saw Alec's annoyed expression. Without another word, he turned and disappeared. Confused, Y/N looked at Jane. " What's wrong with him? Did I do something wrong?" Jane shook her head. " You didn't do anything wrong. My brother just doesn't like how close the three of them are to you." " But the three of them are just like annoying older brothers to me." Jane nodded. " I know , Alec just isn't used to feeling for someone what he feels for you...." " He's jealous?" Again Jane nodded and watched with a smirk as Y/N immediately set out to follow Alec.

Alec had retreated to the room they shared. Y/N entered shortly after him. Indecisively she stopped in the middle of the room and looked at her boyfriend , who had sat down in his favorite armchair. Alec looked at her expressionlessly , but turned his head back to the fireplace , which crackled away next to his armchair . Sighing , Y/N sat down on her bad-tempered vampire's lap without thinking twice .

" What is it exactly that bothers you? Talk to me and I'll change it." " Are you going to leave me for one of them?" Alec still didn't look at Y/N and therefore didn't see the horrified look on her face. " Alec please look at me." But when he still wouldn't look at her, the younger girl gently placed both hands on his cheeks, pushing his head back in her direction. Which forced Alec to look at his girlfriend. " We are mates , destined to find each other and stay together." Alec let out an unnecessary puff of air from his lungs to show he still wasn't completely convinced. " What if...." Y/N shook her head , came a little closer to his face and breathed just before his lips, " Just kiss me!"

Forgotten was the jealousy and uneasy feeling in Alec. In its place was a gentle smile, which only his mate and sister got to see and the knowledge that Y/N belonged only to him.

Person A pouts, person B kisses her

In the meantime two years had passed and thus the everyday life on Volterra had settled in for Y/N. She was not only seen as a family member in the ranks of the Guards and also respected, she had also found a firm place in the cool hearts of the Volturi kings.

So it was no wonder that whenever Alec was on duty she was in the throne room with him. But the young girl did not stand next to him, as in the beginning, but sat mostly leaning against Marcus' throne. She read in one of the many books that Marcus had ordered for her every month. No one had ever thought it possible, but Y/N had become like a daughter to Marcus. While she too had to admit that the quiet king was closer to a father than her biological Charlie Swan ever was to her.

When Y/N was not in the mood to read but to draw, she sat next to Caius. He would give her tips or they would draw together. Aro always entertained her when she didn't feel like doing anything. He told her about times long past and found it exciting to watch her reactions to various events.

On this particular day, she was sitting leaning against Marcus' throne and seemed to be completely engulfed by the book in her lap when the opening door caught the attention of everyone in the room and so did Y/N. The secretary was standing there with a tablet in her hand. The secretary stood there with a tray in her hand on which lay a letter. Since Y/N did not expect it to be for her, she returned to her book.

Aro stood up with a small cry of joy and stretched out his hand to receive the letter. However, the young woman hesitated and looked at Y/N. "Forgive me Master Aro, but the letter is addressed to Miss Swan." Confused, she looked up from her book again, closed it, remembered which page it was on, put it on the floor next to Marcus' throne and stood up.

Amused, Y/N wrinkled her nose. " What is it my dear?" Y/N turned to Aro and handed him the letter. " Bella is marrying probably the most annoying vampire in the history of the world!" Caius laughed up , another thing he admired about the young girl , they shared the same thoughts when it came to the Cullens .

She sat back down and picked up her book. " Don't you want to go?" Marcus looked down at Y/N. " Why? I made it clear what I thought of her opinion and we haven't talked on the phone since. I'm surprised she still remembers me...." Marcus raised an eyebrow. Sighing, she closed her book again and looked at him. " Besides , it doesn't say anything about an escort . Which means as much as I'm supposed to come alone!" Alec , standing next to Caius , tensed. For nothing in the world would he let his mate go anywhere alone , certainly not near the Cullens . " That's a good point..." Marcus looked more closely at the invitation , which Aro had given him . " Still , it's your sister's wedding ! You should go." Y/N pursed her mouth . " You will see your family there again." " We all here know that neither Cullens nor Swans are longer part of my family." " That's a good point again" Caius looked at his brother. Aro , who had been quiet , now turned to Y/N . " You will go to see what the Cullens are doing for the Volturi . For a human , you have a very good grasp . Take Santiago with you." Alec took a step forward. " Master..." Aro raised a finger. " You and the others have a mission."

"Stop pouting Alec!" Smirking, Y/N looked at her vampire boyfriend from her suitcase. The latter ignored her statement and just crossed his arms in front of his chest, while he continued to watch Y/N packing odds and ends from his seated position on the bed. At the lack of response, the young girl rolled her eyes " Aren't you a little old to be pouting dearest?!" Y/N walked past Alec as she spoke her words to get to her bedside cabinet. Alec , who still hadn't said a word , took advantage of his girlfriend's proximity to grab her by her hips . He turned her around and pulled her between his legs. She looked down at him questioningly as he wrapped his arms around her middle and buried his face in her sweater.

Sighing, Y/N ran her fingers through Alec's hair, "I'd rather stay here than fly to my sister, but you heard Aro and I won't be unguarded. Santiago will make sure nothing happens to me!" Alec turned his face so that he was looking up at Y/N now. "You know the Cullens! What if they suddenly make you think we're the bad guys? Y/N I don't want to lose you...." Shaking her head, she leaned down and rested her forehead against his. "You are my home, you are my love and my soul Alec. Nothing you say could ever change that." She watched as he closed his eyes at her words and savored them. So she took another breath and for the first time spoke the three words that neither of them had dared to say out loud until now. " Alec Volturi I love you..." She wanted to say something more, to assure him how serious this confession was to her, but Alec immediately opened his eyes and stood up. Y/N staggered back a few steps , but before she really threatened to fall , two hands placed themselves at her waist and pulled her close to his chest. " I love you too!" And thus both of them put their lips on each other.

Person A stops the kiss to ask person B if it is really okay to continue, person B just kisses him.

"You look like you just came from a funeral, not a wedding." Demetri looked at Y/N with amusement. She ignored the blond vampire completely and let Santiago lead her into the throne room. Confused, Demetri looked at Santiago , but he just shook his head.

" Y/N you're back!" Aro seemed to be genuinely pleased , however his smile disappeared at the sight that presented itself to him and every other vampire. Under Y/N eyes, gray/black rims had formed. The smile that the young girl had always had on her face had disappeared and been replaced by a sadness that no one wanted to see or had ever seen on her. Santiago stepped forward and, without a word, offered his hand to Aro. Lost in thought, Aro nodded. "What is it brother?" Caius looked back and forth between Aro , Santiago and Y/N , confused . " As I have seen , the Cullens have made it clear to our Y/N that she no longer belongs there." Aro turned to Felix and ordered him to send for Alec.

Marcus, who had a guilty conscience because he had been one of the main reasons why Y/N had to return, stood up and took her in his arms. Y/N still didn't speak a word, but put her arms around the vampire's body and clawed at his robe.

" They hate me , all of them..." muttered Y/N , without releasing herself . Marcus strengthened his grip a little , considering his strength so as not to hurt Y/N .

Y/N broke away from Marcus only when the door of the hall opened again. When she turned around and saw Alec standing there, she ran towards him. When she reached him, she literally threw herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face in the crook of his neck, where she began to cry bitterly. Startled, Alec put his arms around her and brought her body, carefully, even closer to his.

Every vampire's heart broke at the sight, but they also saw the anger in Alec's face and wondered what would happen if he ever met the Cullens in person again. To everyone's surprise, Alec spoke in a calm voice to Aro as he asked if he and his mate could leave. Which he allowed.

"What happened exactly?" Alec sat down on the edge of the bed while Y/N walked up and down the room. She didn't want to sit down , even though Alec had told her several times. " They treated me like an outcast. I stood in a corner the entire time and would be shunned or literally pierced with hateful stares." Again, tears came to Y/N's eyes. " Alec even my father and mother ignored me and only saw their , great Bella and they don't even know about you and all this." Y/N stopped in front of Alec's desk , leaned against it and buried her face in her hands . Alec stood up , stood in front of Y/N , put his hands on her wrists and pulled them away from her face. " Y/N..." " Alec I have filled like a parasite among my actual family!"

Alec contorted his face, almost as if he were in pain. Which was also true somewhere. He didn't like to see his mate so broken, and certainly not because of the Cullen clan. The black haired vampire looked his girlfriend right in the eyes. " You are not a parasite. Not here , not for a single Volturi and certainly not for me!" " Alec..." He didn't let Y/N say the sentence , as he wanted to show her how important she was to him , just as she had done the last years . His hands let go of her wrists , grasping her face and gently pulling it forward so he could place his lips on hers .

A startled and choking sound came from Y/N. Alec had never kissed her with such force and at the same time with so much feeling as at that moment. Without thinking twice, she wrapped her hands around his neck. He let his fall from her cheeks to her hips. When they broke away , as Y/N still needed air , they looked deep into each other's eyes again . This time Alec wanted to say something, but Y/N pulled him down to him. The kiss between the two became more and more passionate. Alec's hands moved from Y/N's hips to her thighs. He lifted her up, cleared everything from his desk beforehand with a wave of his hand and set her down on it. Breathing heavily , the young girl detached herself from him . Alec , who was now standing between her open legs , put his forehead right over her fast beating heart. He grinned slightly as he realized that it was he who was making her heart beat so fast and was also the reason for her skin getting warmer and warmer. Without lifting his head, he whispered, "Tell me when to stop! Because if we continue , I can not stop!" " Then don't stop..." Y/N's voice trembled. Alec looked up to see if she really meant it . " Are you sure?" Her answer was another passionate kiss. Her fingers found their way to the buttons of his shirt , which she undid one by one . When she had undone the last button , she ran her fingertips over his now exposed skin . Which elicited a moan from Alec and Y/N was now the one grinning at his lips. Alec released his lips from Y/N and moved on to her neck , where he sucked hard in a few places. Now his mate began to make sounds as well. When his shirt had found its way to the floor, Alec put his hands on the hem of Y/N's sweater. Detaching himself from her, he pulled it over her head. Immediately put his lips back on hers. His hands placed themselves as if by themselves on her back, where his right hand slowly began to stroke along her spine. Immediately goosebumps spread on Y/N's skin and her moans grew louder , her hands clawed him Alec's hair and her body bent even closer to his. " Alec..." She gasped his name , as he unclasped her bra and his left hand gripped one of her breasts . At his name , he looked at her again . His eyes were dark , almost black . But instead of being afraid of him , she only wanted him more . Alec , who must have understood her look , released her breast , which elicited a whimper from Y/N , embraced her thighs again and lifted her off the desk.

As Y/N lay on the bed, Alec bent over her. He placed a quick kiss on Y/N's lips, but moved on to place a second one on her pulse point on her neck. His hands, meanwhile, worked their way to the button of her pants. When his lips arrived at his mate's breasts and spoiled them , Y/N began to tremble under him. He opened her pants and took them off as far as he could. The rest of the way Y/N took over with her feet alone. In the same way he opened his pants and let them disappear. Only separated from her lower underwear , Y/N pulled him up to her. Both lost themselves in a kiss again. Y/N's left hand clawed into Alec's black hair , while her right rested against his shoulder. Their legs spread a little more as Alec made a pass at his underpants and hers.

Alec took Y/N's right hand , joined it with his and pressed it lightly into the mattress beneath them . His left he took for support to gently penetrate Y/N. The young girl bit her lower lip , while at the same time stretching her back to meet Alec.

"Are you sure you don't want me to get Alec?" Demetri looked at Y/N with concern. The latter trotted from the bathroom , where she had thrown up again , back to the bed . " I am sure Demetri. People do get sick."

Before the blond-haired vampire could reply, Y/N's cell phone rang. Annoyed , she groaned. Someone had been trying to reach her all morning, only she wasn't exactly eager to find out who that someone was. "If you really want to help me, please give me my cell phone. Before I go crazy!" Demetri laughed and handed Y/N the requested item.

" What in God's name does Bella want from me!" Y/N grumbled to herself as she called her back.

" Y/N?" " What do you want?" Bella sighed at her sister's hostile tone. But she couldn't blame her anymore, not after she had allowed Y/N to be treated like dirt at her wedding. "I need my sister." She murmured softly. Y/N laughed out. " There are two of them where you are. Blondie and the crazy one. Ask them if you need help!" Y/N was about to hang up when she paused at her sister's next words. " I'm pregnant, by Edward."

Silently Y/N looked at her cell phone screen and wrestled for a few seconds to regain her composure as she replied, " Edward is a vampire Bella. You can't have something like that." " But it did happen. "Demetri , who had not listened out of respect for Y/N , saw how she became even paler and worriedly got up from the armchair where he had sat down.

" Y/N? Are you still there?" " How?" " I don't know how it's possible..." Y/N interrupted Bella. " That's not what I meant. How did you find out?" Bella said nothing for a short while and then spoke in an unsteady voice. " My period stopped and I started throwing up.... Why is this so important?" The young girl swallowed hard and felt like she was about to pass out. Demetri put a hand on her shoulder. " Y/N why did you want to know?" But Bella fell on deaf ears. Y/N ended the call and turned off her cell phone.

" Y/N?" Demetri asked her cautiously and backed away several steps in surprise , when the addressed simply jumped up. Y/N literally fled to the bathroom and opened the closet. Her eyes fell on the newly bought tampon package , which was still unopened . " Demetri , how long ago was my sister's wedding now?" " Five weeks . You're starting to worry me even more than I already do at this point. Can you please tell me what's going on?!" With shaky breath , she closed the closet and turned to Demetri. " I need to talk to Aro. Do you know where he is?" Nodding , he motioned Y/N to follow him.

"Demetri said it was important?" Aro , Marcus and Caius sat at a table , on which lay several different old books. " Bella called me and told me something interesting." Now Marcus and Caius also looked at her with interest. " And that would be?" Caius raised an eyebrow , but Aro noticed that Y/N did not find the next words easy and accepted her hand instead.

Alec , standing next to his sister in one of the corners , watched the whole spectacle closely . His sister copied his tense posture. Jane also stood with him immediately next to Y/N , when she almost fell down from fright. Aro shouted so loudly with joy or anger that even the last vampire on Volterra must have heard him.

" Since you came in through the door of the throne room with your sister , you have always managed to impress me and no human can claim that until now!" Aro turned to his brothers. " Bella Cullen still seems to be human and what is very curious , she seems to be pregnant by her husband!" Caius dropped the book he had just been reading. Markus choked on his blood tea.

" A pregnancy between a human and a vampire is not possible. The Cullens just want to lead us around by the nose again and an excuse for Bella's human existence!" Caius seemed to want to add something else , but Aro interrupted him. Meanwhile, Demetri seemed to have the same thought as Y/N had after the phone call. Because he looked startled in their direction. "I would not say that so fast brother. Because as it seems..." , Aro turned back to Y/N and put a hand on her cheek, " Showing the same symptoms of Bella's pregnancy , also in Y/N." Now the other two kings jumped up and came towards Y/N . Alec , who was standing behind her looked down at her in surprise , while Y/N didn't dare look up from the floor. " Are you sure?" Marcus looked at her slightly excited. The young girl just nodded. " If this is really true , then it is a miracle!" Even Caius had to nod . "Alec , Jane , Demetri and Felix you will travel with Y/N to the Cullens. We want to make sure Bella wasn't lying and have Carlisle take a closer look at Y/N."

" Are you going to say something too, or are you just going to keep me silent?" Y/N's voice was quiet as she went back into the room next to Alec to change and leave immediately. The addressed stopped , turned to his girlfriend , who had also stopped and hugged her. Relieved, Y/N wrapped her arms around Alec's waist and buried her face against his chest, "If you think I'm mad, you should know that I'm not. If you really are pregnant, this is a gift and not just for the two of us." Y/N and Alec disengaged from each other a little. Alec took her face between his hands, which had become a habit of his, and kissed her. However, he also placed a kiss on her cheek , on her forehead and still everywhere he came close in her face. This made Y/N laugh.

What they both didn't know was that Jane , Felix and Demetri were standing not far away from them watching the scene in front of them. " Did you ever think you would see your brother like this?" " What exactly do you mean? Happy or maybe about to become a father?" " Both." " No, not after everything we've been through. But I'm glad she's giving him all these opportunities now." Jane turned in the direction of the exit. Felix leaned toward Demetri. "I don't know if it scares me to know this side of the twins or if I should be happy?" Demetri just shrugged his shoulders and followed Jane.

Person A gives person B a kiss on the hand to reassure them.

" Will you ever take your hand off her belly again?" Jane looked amused at her brother, while he just wrinkled his nose. Y/N had fallen asleep on the plane from Italy to America, and Alec had been stroking her belly while lost in thought. " Probably not. I'm not happy about having to go to the Cullens with her. Not after what Santiago told me and certainly not if it's true and she's pregnant!" Demetri gave a mutter in agreement , as did Felix. "Neither of us will let her feel for a second the way she told you." He nodded. " Still, I'm not taking that hand away!" That made everyone laugh quietly.

When they arrived at the Cullens', Y/N's worries were confirmed. No one was happy about her visit and without really listening to her, the Cullens started talking at her. "I told you not to call them!" Edward scowled at Y/N. " She is a dirty traitor and ..." " Try to finish that sentence and it will be your last!" Jane looked at Emmett for a brief moment and already he was writhing on the floor in pain. Y/N winced in fright at that. Which made Alec put his hand protectively on her stomach and press his mate even closer to his body. Bella who saw this gasped and got all the attention.

The Volturi had to admit that Y/N's sister didn't look too good and even though they would never say it out loud they were afraid for Y/N if she really was pregnant.

Jacob and Edward immediately stood by Bella's side, but she waved them away and held out her hand to Y/N. Alec, however, held his mate back. Alec, however, kept his mate at his side. Smiling , she looked at him , raised her joined hands to her mouth and placed a kiss on the back of his hand . Grumbling , he let go of her and the Cullens didn't dare say anything for a second , because they had never seen anything like this when it came to one of the Volturi .

Y/N took her sister's hand and carefully sat down next to her, "I'm sorry. , Bella's voice sounded sad. " I know and I forgive you." Y/N placed her hand on her sister's sunken cheek. Bella leaned into Y/N's warmth with a smile and closed her eyes. " She is not here because she betrayed us . She's here for Carlisle to see if she's pregnant too."

"With Bella, you can't see the fetus, but you can hear the heartbeat." Carlisle smiled at Y/N as he helped her sit up properly. Alec stood next to her and grabbed her hand again. When he noticed how much Y/N was trembling , he copied her gesture from earlier and placed a long lasting kiss on the back of her right hand. Rosalie, who was watching the whole thing closely, took a few steps back when she wanted to say something but Demetri just stood in front of her. "Nobody cares about your opinion, so keep it to yourself!" Grumbled Felix next to Demetri.

Carlisle moved the ultrasound machine back and forth until he could hear something. "Just like Bella, you can't see anything, but you can hear something. You are too pregnant with perfect certainty Y/N." Y/N didn't really react when she saw the black image of the ultrasound. Alec who was about to assure her that everything would be fine stopped as his mate took his hand and placed it on her belly. "What are you going to do?" But Esme's loud gasp made the whole room look at the machine again. Something was now showing on the ultrasound and tears came to Y/N's eyes. " They just had to be comfortable!" Carlisle words jolted Y/N awake again. " They?" " Yes they..." , He turned the device a bit and a second fetus appeared, " You're having twins."

" Well hopefully they will come after Y/N!" Jane turned to Felix and he was already on the floor. " Why do you always have to provoke her?" muttered Demetri , but silently agreed with him. Volterra did not need another Jane.

"How is my favorite pregnant woman?" Heidi laughed as she entered the room. "I'm the only pregnant woman you know!" Y/N tried to straighten up, but let it go. "And I think it will stay that way." Jane grumbled as she entered the room behind Heidi. " I still find it fascinating that you are not as emaciated as your sister was." Heidi helped Y/N stand up . Jane on her other side looked at Heidi. " Maybe her kids just like her more?" " Jane!" Y/N laughed. She immediately regretted it when she felt a sharp pain go straight through her stomach.

" What's wrong?" Y/N shook her head. " It hurts!" Again she put her hand on her belly. Heidi and Jane looked at each other. " Isn't it too soon?" Jane ordered Y/N to sit back down, just as she told Heidi to get Carlisle, who had arrived on Volterra today. " Jane , I'm scared." She grabbed the blond vampire's hand . " Me too , but we can do this . Together , as a family !" To underline her words , she squeezed Y/N hand once harder.

"We have to put her down!" Carlisle shouted the moment he entered the room. Alec, who had rushed to Y/N's side as soon as he heard the babies were coming, helped his sister do just that. "If you don't want to see this, go ahead Alec." The latter shook his head and grabbed Y/N's hand. " I promised you. I'll stay until the end." The young girl squeezed his hand a little tighter.

" Everyone out of here who doesn't need to be present!" Demetri and Felix stood in front of the door so that none of the newer guards would get the wrong idea when they smelled Y/N's blood. The kings were not far away either. Marcus seemed to be the most restless. He paced back and forth while the other two tried to calm him down. "We are not far away Marcus, if something happens you can bite them fast enough." He nodded , but was not reassured by Caius' words . " Besides , you heard Carlisle . Y/N shows no resemblance to Bella at all. Maybe it won't even come to an emergency!"

" Y/N you have to push!" "It hurts..." " I know! You just need to push a little more!" After good words from Alec and Jane, who also didn't want to leave Y/N's side and another painful ten minutes , the first twin was there. Jane immediately stood to receive the baby. She leaned down to Y/N and whispered. " It's a boy!" Y/N looked into her son's eyes , they were bright blue , and began to cry as she grasped his little hand .

Carlisle and a renewed wave of pain brought her back. She squeezed Alec's hand stronger and shook her head. " I can't do this again!" Alec leaned toward her and kissed away the tears on her cheeks. His mouth moved to Y/N's ear " You can do it , you did it with our son too!" She turned her head in his direction and they both rested their foreheads against each other. Y/N began to push again , which seemed easier to her this time. A few minutes later, another scream rang out. Alec stood up to receive the second twin.

Surprised, Y/N looked up when she heard Alec laugh for the first time. "It's a girl." He leaned down to his mate and Y/N took her daughter's little hand, as she had with her son.

Alec and Jane looked at each other happily. For they could not quite believe that they had gotten the family they had always wanted , with Y/N and the twins .

" Do you have any idea what we are going to name them yet ?" Alec looked at Y/N again with a smile. " I had an.... I had an...." " Y/N?" Carlisle nudged Alec slightly to the side. " We need Marcus and we need him now!" " What happened!!!" " She lost too much blood giving birth."

Carlisle took Y/N's hand with his left , while the right turned her head in his direction. " You have to stay awake a little longer Y/N... please! Don't do this to us!" Even though Carlisle had never been a friend of Y/N being Alec Volturi's mate and had also joined in when she was ignored , he had never wished her dead . Now that she was a mother, he wanted it even less.

A kiss associated with a heartfelt embrace

"In all these years, I have never seen Volterra so quiet." Santiago stood at the door to the room where Y/N was undergoing her transformation. Since the young mother had lost consciousness before Marcus could bite her, it was impossible to tell now if she had survived or if the poison had come too late.

" Everyone is worried about Y/N." Demetri had slid down the wall and was sitting like a little heap on the floor. " How is Alec? I haven't been able to check on him yet." " He's trying his best. Jane and Heidi are helping him with the kids , but he misses them! So do we all...." " I hope she wakes up soon....."

Santiago and Demetri looked at each other , then back at the door. " Did you hear that?" Demetri nodded, stood up and literally yanked the door open. When he looked at the bed it was empty. Immediately he imagined all the worst scenarios that could exist in this world , until a voice interrupted this . "I'm standing here!" Immediately the blond vampire turned around. " Jesus you're going to give me the first vampire heart attack in the history of our kind of woman one of these days!" Laughing, Y/N turned away from the mirror and walked towards him. " It is very unlikely that it will happen!" " You make it happen!" "Since I will now live as long as you, it could happen by all means." Santiago laughed and so did Demetri. "Come here little devil spawn!" Demetri held out his arms and Y/N accepted the embrace. So did Santiago's. " Let's get you some blood and then you can see your kids and Alec." " How is he?" " According to the circumstances."

" Alec." Felix stood in the doorway of the nursery and watched as the black-haired vampire laid his son down to sleep. the addressed turned and saw the happy expression on his friend's face. " She's awake." His gaze wandered to his sister who nodded at him , indicating that she would watch the children . "Where?" "She's in the throne room."

The opening of the door silenced the conversation between Aro and Y/N. Smiling , she turned to him . For both of them and everyone else present in the room, it seemed as if the world stopped. Alec's eyes wandered over his mate. She was wearing a black dress with matching black shoes. Around her neck hung the Volturi necklace. Her skin was pale and her hair seemed to shine. But what Alec found most intriguing were Y/N's eyes. Their red seemed to literally captivate him.

When the vampire was really sure that he was not dreaming and in front of him was really his mate, he was already standing in front of her. His hands wrapped around her upper body and he pressed her against him. Y/N arms wrapped around his neck as their lips found each other. " I thought I had lost you." Whispered Alec with his eyes closed , as they broke away from each other . Both were still standing in the throne room with their foreheads against each other . " Never!" " Promise?" " Promise"

You’re Perfect Just the Way You Are

Fandom: Twilight

Character(s): Felix Volturi x Trans male!Oc (more of a reader perspective)

At almost 2,000 years since being turned, Felix was one of the more older members of the Volturi Coven. Sure, he wasn’t as old as the Kings or Chelsea but he also wasn’t as young as his friends Demetri or Santiago either. He was at the very least old enough to have experienced many things throughout his immortal life. From the fall of the Roman Empire, his home, to gorgeous meteor showers and technological advances.

He had met many, many, vampires. Some of which were no longer on this earth and others that still somehow stuck around. He had watched allies and enemies alike go from being alone to being in pairs and perhaps even a full coven. And on the occasional time when he was at the right place at the right time, he had seen the special unique works of a mating bond taking place. However, while Felix had experienced many things and his room was filled with many treasures and gifts from his long life, he still hadn’t experienced everything. He was an elite guard of the Volturi; He had luxuries only millionaires would wish for; He had close friends that could only be described as family; But, he didn’t have the very single thing he craved for. His mate. His soulmate.

How he craved that he would find someone like how Chelsea has Afton or how Aro has Sulpicia. But as time moved on and he was getting closer and closer to his 2,000th year in his immortal life. Felix had lost all hope of finding his mate.

They had likely died long ago, resting in a peaceful grave somewhere in the world. Or, at some of his darkest moments, he even entertained the thought he never had a mate to begin with. That he was a monster, not kind enough to have such a luxury. It was days like those that he was thankful for friends like Demetri, who dragged him out of his room with threats of grabbing Jane or beating him up himself.

And it was on a day like today that he wished Caius hadn’t sent Demetri on that mission to track a group of rampaging newborns. He would have very much liked his most dearest friend at his side at this very moment in time.

“You… What?”

Thankfully his master, Aro, wasn’t angry at his gobsmacked state and gracefully repeated himself. The slightest hint of amusement in his tone of voice as he looked upon Felix.

“Dear Alice just called. She told me about the most excellent vision of you and your mate.”

“I—“

“Why would the Cullen Coven call to let us know of such a thing?“ Caius scoffs, interrupting Felix, “It’s not like we’ve been particularly close with them since Bella Swan and the Renesmee Cullen Case.”

For once, Felix was glad he had a head strong master like Caius. Always asking the questions some members were too scared or respectful to question Aro about. Though, not like it mattered as the king would find out eventually through his ability.

“True. Very True Brother.” Aro says, his voice light and airy as he drifted around the room, contemplating Caius’ words, “It is very hard to understand why she would tell us such a thing. But, nevertheless.”

Aro spins back around to look at Felix, “Alice and the Cullen Clan will be arriving with your mate this Saturday. Once I touch her’s and Carlisle’s hand then, all questions shall be answered.”

Though not exactly pleased, Caius says no more on the topic and with a huff he dismisses everyone from the throne room. As Felix leaves, he passes by some of the members of the guard. Some—most of whom he is closer to—give him playful pats on the back while the others just give him a curt nod and smile. It’s not until he gets back to his room and his phone rings, and he hears the playful tone of Demetri teasing him on the other end that it truly hits him.

3 days. In less than 3 days, Felix would finally meet his mate after hundreds of years of being alone on this earth. As if roaring back to life, his mind went wild with questions. What were they like? Did they have a favorite color? A favorite book? Would they become immortal like him? Would they conform to drinking human blood or would the Cullens have influenced them to their bunny diet?

Felix had plenty of questions but no answers in sight and it was at a time like this that he wished he could sleep. Something to calm himself down and pass the time with. However after Demetri had to go, he was stuck all by himself in his room with his thoughts. 68 hours to go and not knowing what in the world to do with himself in that time.

Today, he had feeding at 15 o’clock, training at 17 and guard duty at midnight till 5. But still 7 to 8 hours of downtime in between. 7 to 8 hours of driving himself insane.

Felix decides he was overthinking it too much. Why a constant fast and sharp mind was a gift in the immortal lifetime, it was also very much a curse. He decides to go see Santiago and Afton, hoping they would be up for a game of poker or pool before food. Thankfully they were, giving knowing smiles as if understanding how much he was being driven to the brim with anxiety.

They played games in the rec room until Heidi arrived, shooting the breeze and occasionally bringing up the topic of Felix’s Mate. Thankfully by the time Felix was once again back in the throne room, he felt much better and devoured his meal without care. Well without care until Aro had pulled him aside.

“I decided to call Carlisle for more details, and while I wasn’t able to get much, I was able to get some things.” Aro says quietly to him, a glint in his eyes revealing that he knows Felix has been driving himself insane for details about his mate.

Holly. Her name was Holly. Who knew a name of Old English origin that meant “the Holly tree” would be so important to him. Five simple letters, one vowel and two repeating letters. It was… perfect.

She was 18 years of age, not really looking to go to college. She worked at her grandmother’s bakery and that was enough for her apparently. She liked a simple life.

Holly. That’s all Felix could think about as he floats back to his room. Holly, Holly, Holly. And for the first time in a while, Felix found himself looking at everything around his room. Would she be fine with the werewolf head above the fireplace? Or the Roman Armor stand in the corner?

Felix had no idea what his mate liked but felt the need to check everything. She was his mate after all and his room was now also her room.

Other than his duties or being called down by one of his masters, Felix spent the next two days locked in his room. At first his friends were worried, concerned for the giant’s well being. But when Chelsea and Corin went to check up on him, they let out a sigh of relief when they saw he was simply cleaning out his closet. Making room for his mate to put her stuff in them as well.

Even though his friends teased him, from the closet to the books on his shelves and even the bed spreads, Felix double checked everything. Either making room for his mate to put in stuff or organizing it until he felt she would like it. He even drew back the currents of his room—something he hardly did—in hopes of brightening it up. A human thing he learned from the secretaries whenever they got depressed from the lack of sunlight.

It was then that Felix realized something. His room sure was dark wasn’t it? Felix had always liked the stone walls and the dark old wooden items of his room. However, he now worried about its gothic look and the impression it might leave on his current human mate.

He thought back to what the females of his coven usually liked. Something the average girl wouldn’t mind to be put into the room. He shifted from thought to thought before suddenly being hit with what Afton would get Chelsea every week after work. Flowers.

Without a second thought, Felix raced outside to the grand garden and plucked a couple bouquets after gaining his masters’ permission. They ranged from colors of cherry red to periwinkle purple and even a holy white. Thankfully they did the job and Felix found himself not minding the flowery scent that now wafted his room; Contrary to the usual Sand wood and Summer scent that he had grown used to.

Demetri arrived early in the morning on the third day and Felix was glad he was back. With the giant no longer fiddling with his room, he had nothing to do to keep himself occupied. It also did not help that his masters had given him the day off, not knowing when the Cullens would show up with his mate.

“Are you excited, my friend?” Demetri says as he greets the giant later that day, “I heard you had a bit of a decoration spree.”

“Yes. Very much.” Felix says, shaking his head at Demetri’s teasing tone. Though he didn’t try to hide the smile that made his way on his lips, showing he very much welcomed his closest friend’s teasing with open arms.

“So… what’s they’re name?”

“Holly.” Felix replies simply, giving Santiago a quick nod in greeting as the tracker and him passed the Spanish man in the hall.

“Ah, another girl to our league, eh?” Demetri jokingly replies, knowing it had been quite some time since any of them got a female mate. Him being one of them when Luke, his mate, appeared two centuries ago. “Heidi and Chelsea must be pleased.”

“Yes, I worry they might steal her before I even get the chance to see her.”

Demetri chuckles at his comment, “Ah, you joke old friend but you shouldn’t jinx yourself.”

“True, True.”

As they round the corner to the staircase, they see Afton racing up it and Felix’s smile instantly drops. He knew that grin on the blonde male’s face only meant one thing.

“Demetri, Felix,” The Swedish man greets before turning his full attention to the giant, “The Cullens are here.”

An unneeded breath gets stuck in Felix’s throat as he turns to look at Demetri. The tracker gives him a side glance before shaking his head with a sigh, “What in the world are you waiting for you big oaf? Go!“

While Felix spent a lot of time contemplating the experience of meeting his mate for the first time. Nothing could ever prepare him for this. His unbeating heart felt as if it was lodged in his throat and for the first time in millennials, the giant was breathing as if he needed it to survive. As Felix got to the throne room doors, he realized he got there way too quickly for his liking. He honestly wished he had walked at a human’s pace, maybe even slower, but the kings would instantly know he was stalling. Especially when it only took a little more than 10 minutes to travel from one side of the castle to the other.

The lower guards in front of the doors instantly nodded their heads as Felix approached them and when he nodded back in greeting, they opened the large stone doors for him. As it creaked open, Felix held his breath. He waited until the doors were fully open and he stepped in before he finally looked up.

First he locked eyes with Edward. Then Carlisle and the young pixie Alice, who gave him a grin. Next was Bella, the hybrid and that smelly mutt of theirs. And finally, finally, he locked eyes with her. Holly.

Felix felt himself instantly melt as doe shaped brown eyes looked up at him. She was perfect. No, she was more than perfect.

“Holly…” Felix breathes, his voice echoing around the silent room like a prayer. However, he is shocked as his mate flinches slightly. Her expression turning slightly sour as she glances at Carlisle and Edward before she bitterly attempts to cover it up.

What had he done? Why did she flinch? He looked at Carlisle and even Edward for answers but they gave him none. He even looked at that smelly mutt for something but the dog wasn’t even paying attention. It is only as Demetri walks in with Luke at his side that he looks at Alice Cullen for answers. She stares back at him in the eyes for a few moments before gesturing, with an ever slight flick of her head, at his mate. And it is only then that he takes in his mate more than he had prior.

While he wasn’t exactly up to date with human trends and culture, he definitely knew his mate’s choice of outfit was unusual.

His mate's hair was cropped short, only slightly longer than Alec’s but not by much. They wore a nice summer dress. One made of cotton that looked quite comfortable. But, by the way his mate scratched and fiddled with the fabric, they were anything but that. As his eyes traveled lower, he noticed that a nice pair of white socks and what he believed to be basketball sneakers adored his mate's feet. That didn’t match. Felix knew that much.

He passes a glance at Luke, the youngest of their ranks and the one that would know the most about current up to date fashion, who stares back at him. All he needed was a short nod from the young vampire to know the answer to his question. Something wasn’t right with the information the Cullens had told him.

He wasn’t the only one who realized something was amidst either.

“Is something the matter, old friend?” Aro asks, finally approaching Carlisle and his coven.

“Nothing at all.” The doctor answers curtly, giving the leader a small smile. Though it was too stiff for Felix’s liking.

“Well…,” Aro pauses as he chooses his next words carefully. Instead of questioning Carlisle again, he turns his attention to Felix’s mate, “Is something the matter with you, dear Holly?”

Felix feels anxious yet also relieved as his mate flinches once more. So it wasn’t him that they were flinching at.

“I—“ As his mate locks eyes with Edward, they pause, “No, not at all. Thank you for your concern Aro.”

What was that? Felix sends a glare Edward’s way. What in the world did that pompous idiot say to his mate?

As Edward turns to lock eyes with Felix to send the giant a glare at his thoughts, Felix returns it with a low growl. Yes, he was talking to you, bunny humper.

Edward’s eyes narrow at Felix and he sends the giant a final glare before turning back to look at Aro. The leader stared suspiciously at the vegetarian coven, having carefully watched the exchange that took place between Felix’s mate and Edward minutes ago. Suddenly Aro brought his hands up in front of his face as if he was praying but he was doing anything but that. From years of being in the guard, Felix knew Aro was thinking, thinking deeply. Strategizing his next possible move and the outcome of it.

“No—“ Edward suddenly spoke up, his mind reading ability sensing Aro’s next thoughts; whatever they were. However before he lurches forward, his sister grabs his arm. Stopping him in his tracks.

“Alice.” Edward hisses but the pixie doesn’t let go. Only staring at her brother in the eyes with a disappointed glint deep in those golden pools of hers. That was strange.

“Now, now.” Aro finally announces, speaking up as he breaks his thoughts. He gives Alice and Edward a stare and Carlisle a glance before he approaches Felix’s mate. He gives the young human a reassuring grin before stopping a little bit in front of them, “As the dear mate of one of our guards, Volterra is your home just as much as it is his. You are welcomed here and you will be treated with the utmost kindness. If anything is not up to par, please do not be afraid to mention it to Felix or one of us.”

As Aro trails off, he reaches out and takes one of Felix’s mate's hands. Felix expects the king to give a slight kiss on the back of it as a sign of a greeting and respect but the king suddenly stops short. The usual smile on his face was wiped clean off and he stared, eyes wide at the human in front of him, before giving a cold glance to the Cullen clan.

“What’s going on, Aro?” Caius says, finally speaking up from his place on his throne. His eyes squinting judgmentally at the Cullens, knowing it wasn’t normal for his brother to break his cool so easily. Hell, even Marcus was looking at the Cullens. Knowing something was the matter.

It looked Felix was correct. Something was off, very off. With a quick glance to Demetri, who had been paying attention since the get go, the tracker gives his friend a short nod. Showing he was ready to help step in if the giant needed it.

Clearing his throat and unneedingly licking his lips, Aro surveys the room as if needing to ground himself before looking back down at his mate.

“My dearest apologies,” The king starts, carefully cradling the human’s hand in between his own, “I had no idea. Please understand that we meant no harm. Felix would never do anything to intentionally hurt you, Harvey.”

Harvey?

Now Felix might be wrong but Harvey was by no means a girl’s name. However, Aro wasn’t one to make mistakes so—

“…Thank you…”

Ah. Felix jumps slightly. It was barely a whisper from his mate but he knew him and every vampire in the room heard it loud and clear.

“…I appreciate the apology very much.” As Felix gazes upon his mate, he sees the foggy sparking look in their eyes. One he knew very well. Tears.

It is then that it hits him. No. No, it can’t be. He knew Carlisle was religious. That he was a son of a pastor in his human life but he would never. The doctor was such a kind man. A caring man. He wouldn’t.

But it was the truth. He knew it from how his mate’s hands ever so slightly shook in Aro’s and the disappointed look Carlisle and Edward gave the leader for calling his mate by that name. By his real name.

Felix was angry. No, he was long past angry, he was furious. If he could, he would rip every single one of them to shreds and burn them to ashes. But even that wouldn’t be enough. He would need Jane to torture them and then Caius. It would only be when they would be crying, begging, at his mate’s feet that he would even be satisfied. And only partially at that.

“Master.” At Alec’s voice, Felix finally tears his gaze away from his mate. The young teen boy flicked his eyes between Felix and Aro before gesturing to his jacket.

Felix’s breath gets clogged in his throat. The dress. He can’t believe he forgot about that. Now, now that he knew everything, the article of clothing was no longer lovely. It made him sick. Sick to know that the Cullens had forced his mate into that, against the boy’s very will at that. And while it was only a jacket, Felix was eternally grateful to Alec. Especially as when the young boy approaches and whispers that the boy was free to take some of his clothes if need be. Knowing that they were the closest in size of everyone in the coven and Felix’s articles of clothing would definitely not fit his human mate.

“Thank you…” Felix’s mate repeats, his eyes still glossy as he stares at Alec who for once in his life gives a small smile in return.

“Aro—“

“Quiet!” Caius shouts, cutting off the doctor. Not even attempting to hide his anger as he stared furious at the members of the Olympic coven before him. The arms of his throne covered in cracks as he struggled to hold himself together with the over boiling anger currently present in him.

“Felix.”

Instantly, Felix snaps his head back to Aro. The leader gives him a serious expression and the next few words are all he needed to hear in order to act, “You two are dismissed.”

“You can’t—“

Edward Cullen’s words are lost in the wind as Felix grabs his mate and gets the two of them out of there. Felix thinks he made it back to his room in record timing as he carefully places the boy down on the chair by the fireplace. Knowing vampiric speed wasn’t the most stable experience for humans.

As his mate adjusts, Felix thinks. He thinks about his mate’s expression when he said… that wrong name. He thinks about all the time he called him a girl and said she or her. Even though his mate wasn’t present and he didn’t know any better, Felix feels as if he should be the one to be tortured by Jane’s power. For the fact he made his mate feel even the slightest bit distraught and possibly disgusted in themselves.

The sound of wood creaking brings Felix away from his thoughts. Oh no. Felix feels shame bubble up in his stomach as he watches the younger male gaze upon a vase of flowers nearby. The pink and white roses now looking sinful in his room.

“I’ll get rid of them at once.” Felix speaks hushly and for once in his life, the giant's hands shake as he goes to crush the flowers in his palms. Anxious and ashamed at them yet also eager to get them out of his mates sight.

“But why?” Felix pauses.

As he slowly turns around, his mates’ doe eyes look up at him with confusion.

“They…” Felix turns his head away from him, not wanting to see the expression his mate makes when he tells them, “When I thought you were a… I got them so that… you would like them because that’s the kind of thing a…”

He really was shameful. A disgusting pig that didn’t even have the guts to finish his sentence in order to tell his mate the truth. He should just roll over and die at this point. That would be the only way he felt would make amends for the suffering he caused him.

“I…” His mate pauses for a moment and Felix is caught off guard as the boy joins him at his side. The boy carefully brings Felix’s larger hands away from the flowers and as he looks the giant in the eye, Felix is silently relieved to see no disgust in them, “I still like them.”

“But—“

“Who said a boy can’t like flowers?” At Harvey’s question, Felix instantly shuts up.

It’s silent for a moment before his mate speaks up once more, “You know… I don’t hold you accountable for what you said. You didn’t know any better.”

While his mate spoke the truth, Felix shakes his head, “It doesn’t make it right.”

“You’re right. It doesn’t.” The male maneuvers his hand to enwrap his fingers in between Felix’s, “But, I forgive you. So please…”

Felix leans into the boy’s touch as he brings up a singular hand to cup his face, “…step away from the flowers and come sit with me.”

If he could, Felix felt like he could cry, “Okay.”

While the gentle giant didn’t feel as if he could forgive himself just quite yet, he allowed his mate to drag him to the bed to sit. He decided he would spend the rest of his immortal life making it up to his mate. First by getting him out of the offending dress and burning it. Then by beating up every single last of those Cullens for making him feel like nothing. Because he wasn’t. To him you were the most perfect being on the face of the earth.

And no one could tell him otherwise.

I watched as my family disappeared with no memory that I ever existed. I quickly wiped away my tear and turn around knowing that I need to hurry if I am going to put my plan into action. I quickly run back to my apartment grabbing my bag before heading to the airport and boarding my flight to Rio. That was three days ago now and I felt like I couldn’t breathe knowing that my family had forgotten about me but I knew that I had to get to Rio, by helping the Cullens I would be able to help my family as well so I stuck to the plan.

The whole plane ride I spent looking at photos of my family on one of the holidays we had taken together. The five of us made a deal that at least once a decade we took some time to go on a family holiday most of the time it was just us however occasionally Heidi or Santiago would join.

I was scrolling through and stopped on a photo that made me laugh and cry at the same time, Jane and Alec the two of the most powerful vampires in the world and for all intents and purposes my children were sitting on the ground wearing Mickey Mouse ears and sticking their tongues out at the camera, Demetri was standing behind them wearing a pirate hat and holding a foam sword with me sitting on his shoulders wearing matching mouse ears to the twins laughing at a grumpy looking Felix who was poking his tongue out with butterflies and Tinkerbell painted on his face at the request of Jane. I laughed as the PA system announced that we had landed in Rio. I quickly grabbed my bag before heading out to get my rental car.

It took a few days drive until I reached my location. I jumped out of my car and spotted two familiar vampires standing in the tree line.

“Alice, Jasper!” I call out gaining the attention of the two.

“Y/N?” Jasper looked puzzled but came up to give me a hug.

“I missed you guys at the house but I take it you were already on your way here.”

“We were, we didn’t know that Carlisle had called you.” Alice said running up to give me a hug.

“I was a late call in though I do not think your brother and his new wife were happy to see me.”

It was no secret that Edward was no my favourite person and nor was I his, I was close with the Cullens, Rosalie and Emmett and Alice and Jasper were my favourites I had helped Jasper escape Maria and help him and Alice get the Cullens, I was with Rosalie the day that she found Emmett, I admired her strength to restrain herself around a very bloody Emmett and I turned her when she thought she couldn’t do it herself. Carlisle and Esme were lovely though the way they doted on Edward annoyed me.

“You will have to forgive them they think they are better than everyone.”

“Jasper!” Alice screeched as I giggled a little bit.

“Alice, come you know it is true.”

“Jasper, Alice, as much as I love this catch up we are here for a reason, I take it you found another hybrid other than your niece.”

“You knew?” Alice said

“Yes, I helped him and his aunt when he was born, he was not the first one I had had an experience with.”

They both looked at me but shrugged off the comment. I knew I had to send them back to Carlisle, they needed to be there to help everyone prepare for the Volturi’s arrival in Forks. Before I could say anything Nahuel walked out of the small house.

“Y/N?” I hear him and I quickly run up to him leaving Jasper and Alice behind me.

“Nahuel, it is nice to see you again. You are a long way from Chile.”

“It’s been decades Y/N I needed a new start. You brought friends?”

“They were just leaving but before they do they will need your assurance that you will help but they cannot know about me.”

He nodded understanding I had put a shield up that they couldn’t hear me at the moment.

“Alice, Jasper, this is Nahuel, he is a hybrid and he has agreed to help.” I saw a look of relief wash across both their faces. “You to need to return to forks.”

They both looked at me about to protest. “This is not up for debate, they need your gifts and you need to be there when Aro and the guard arrive.”

“He wants me to join him doesn’t he?”

“Yes Alice, I believe that he does, that is why you need to be there. It will distract him.” They look concerned about leaving. “You will not be leaving with them I will be there to help but I need to wait until the right time.” They nod and say their goodbyes, before starting the journey back to Forks.

“Thank you Nahuel, for helping, I know you owe them nothing.”

“I know Y/N, but I owe you for hiding me from the Volturi.”

“I only wish I could’ve kept you hidden, I will send you more details but for now I need to go however we need to be in Forks in 3 days.”

“I will see you then.” I nod and head back to my car headed back to Rio. I got to my apartment when I heard a gust of wind behind me.

“I should have known you wouldn’t stay away.”

“You should have known the magic wouldn’t work on me darling.”

A/N: I’m back bitches. Bet you never thought I would finally update this series jesus it’s taken me forever. I am still struggling with those lovely messages but after getting a few more I realized they are just fans of other creators so whatever.

A/N: anyways how are you guys? I hope I can get back into a rhythm. School is finally letting up and I miss writing but inspiration is hard to come by. Also I worry about repeating things so if this is familiar idk I tried lol thank you guys for the patience 🤍

In the following weeks you began to feel more and more like yourself. Or what you remembered as yourself. It frustrated you that nothing in your past life came to mind. You had appreciated the extra help from Felix. Both with training and with trying to help you remember anything past you waking up with instructions from Riley. You hadn’t gotten much farther than knowing it was some kind of vacation or break. You knew you had gone with friends but you couldn’t even remember their names much less their faces. Felix offered to take you back to the location someday when everything had calmed down with the Cullens. You had been so against helping Victoria’s coven but now, I mean how many enemies can one family have? You had lessons from Heidi and Demetri about what rules the volturi had and why they had to track certain covens just to check in. You would think following what, maybe two actual rules wouldnt be too hard to follow.

You had begun to get curious. You asked Aro and Caius about officially performing any guard duties, apparently they thought it was best to keep you hidden unless necessary. A surprise for any possible battle. That was alright. You enjoyed being around Heidi and Sulpicia and Corin had showed you several old plants long gone that you had practiced growing when you had a chance. But you wanted to be out with Demetri…and Felix. You felt like you owed him. And you had begun craving his company. It was getting harder when he went on missions. Not that it was that often, but it freaked you out. There was a pain when he was gone for long periods of time. You had come to know he had never lost a fight, learned about the scars he bore, the little memories of his life before the volturi. His stories were in a word, sad. He was forced into a life of fighting to survive, anything he made was sent to his family from what he remembers, but he couldn’t remember faces either. They’re memory fading even in his human life, sending any kind of winnings was more out of obligation. Aro recruited him and he pretty much continued servitude in a different magnitude. He had left for a few years as a newborn, he smiled remembering how his strength now paled in comparison to that first year. Ironically, he said that was the most peaceful time of his life. You weren’t surprised, even now, there were few people who challenged him, besides Demetri and Santiago.

The scars. The scars were so much worse than you had imagined. He had explained about the children of the moon. You were almost 100% sure the person he saved was Demetri, but you didn’t ask. It wasn’t your business. What he hadn’t told you is that unlike most vampires his scars refused to fade. Any scratch from the children of the moon, vampire or otherwise had left some sort of mark on Felix. The trials he’d faced when he had come back to the volturi were harsh. Caius testing exactly how much he could handle had ended up with too many vampires on him at once. He had told you that test had left him plenty of scars all over, you had stayed silent watching his face. It remained unchanging. You worried asking anything more would cause him to stop confiding in you so you chose to stay silent whenever he would recount a story in his life, as if he was telling it about someone else. As if someone else had lived it. You chose only to ask if he was okay and he had only shrugged saying it no longer bothered him. That was the first time you’d seen him lie. You’d think hed be better at it.

It had been a long process. After the night he convinced you to come back to the volturi, he was only slightly more social. Nodding, maybe offering small casual conversation. He had found you in the library once after he had come back late from a mission. It had been the first time you found yourself wondering if he was doing alright. You were grateful he opened up at all. But his stories… you wondered if he would ever process them.

You began integrating yourself more into the large coven. Becoming closer to the guard members. You found a protectiveness growing inside you, it was becoming more glaringly obvious that you would be willing to protect anyone in your new family. No matter the cost. I mean, it’s not like you had anyone else. Nor did you care too much about your own life either, considering you knew so little about yourself. You began to leave the room to your quarters open, so if anyone needed anything it was clear you were available. It seemed to work well for the most part. It was a sort of unspoken agreement that went on in the castle, if your door was open you were available to talk or to help with any trials. Not that you were ever able to go. The queens had helped hone your gift and you enjoyed learning the things they had mastered over the centuries they had been alive. If you weren’t with them or Heidi you had enjoyed spending your time reading many of the books the volturi had accumulated over time. The only one who would still knock to ask how you were doing was Felix. Still, you enjoyed that he would try and make time to visit you when he wasn’t busy.

You were deeply invested into an old horticulture book, Sulpicia told you it was a book known for plants with healing properties. Sulpicia had once gained a piqued interest into the women being persecuted long ago, she discovered their knowledge went beyond what people were ready for and continued to study it over the millennia to see if anything had changed or improved. When Aro had told her about your gift she was quick to want to experiment to see if there was anything that you could do to help their kind, the two of you mainly focused on different plants and herbs known for healing pain and testing whether crossbreeding would prove to someday help any vampires with lasting pain from wars fought long before your time. You knew she meant Caius, but you also secretly hoped you could possibly help Felix. You had noticed he greatly under exaggerated the pain in his arm. You found him putting pressure on it often or would massage it as if it was sore. You knew he had more scars he didn’t feel comfortable talking about, but those scars ran deep inside him. You might as well do something useful if you were going to be stuck in hiding.

You could feel a gust of air pass you as someone rushed past your room. You heard a door slam before Felix’s scent hit you. You knew if he really wanted to that door would have been obliterated, which meant he was trying to restrain himself. That in itself was terrifying. You poked your head out of the room to see if anyone else seemed to know what was happening. Demetri came up soon after.

“Is everything okay?” you felt the need to whisper as quietly as you could

Demetri lips were a tight line, hesitant before he nodded towards your room. You let him in and closed the door to offer him some privacy, “I didn’t mean to worry you Y/n but you should know today’s trial was a bit unexpected. We haven’t dealt with an immortal child in ages.”

You felt the wind get knocked out of you, the transformation process was no walk in the park. To subject any child through that…leave them endlessly unable to grow. It seemed cruel. And the rules. Being caught guaranteed a swift but presumably painful death to both the creator and child. Your mouth felt dry, what was there to say?

“I’m sorry.” Was the best you could do.

Demetri half chuckled, “It isn’t your fault cara. But it certainly doesn’t seem to get easier. We weren’t able to bring them in before the transformation process was complete for the child. Its creator was trying to calm it on their way, as if they could appeal what he did.” You could see Demetris body stiffen, his teeth gritted together. If it was up to him he would let the vampire rebuild itself just to kill him again. You pulled him into an embrace. It couldn’t be easy, feeling guilty at cutting a child’s life so short, even if had been doomed from the moment they were taken from its family’s arms. Demetri was slow but receptive to your sympathy. His arms wrapped around you as he gathered himself together. When he pulled away he made sure to face you,

“Y/n you should know Felix had the unfortunate task of taking care of the child…”

“Is that why he was so upset?”

Demetri sighed, “As long as I’ve known him… he has always been quite good at masking what he’s thinking. When immortal children first became a problem it was made clear no one person would be the ones handling them. Still, the guard assumes Felix is fine with handling it because he is known as our executioner….Though I doubt his pride will ever let him admit it, there are some things that weigh on him more than other.”

You’d only begun to realize the tone he spoke at was so low you could barely make it out. Demetri was still working, still protecting his friend, “What happened?”

“…some of the guard tend to not have much of a filter. They simply see this as a job. Which normally is fine but regardless, the child calmed down the second Felix held them. He hesitated. Someone mentioned that he needed to get on with it, questioning when he began caring about things like this.”

You didn’t want to hear anything else, you felt a pressing need to see him. Demetri held your arm back. Your voice rose to barely a whisper, “Let. go.”

He shook his head, “Believe me I saw Caius handle said member. It isn’t—its not safe for you to see him right now. He needs some time to relax.”

You shook him off of you, “I’m not scared of Felix.” You left before he could protest anymore. You weren’t sure how much he heard. Demetri had centuries to improve how quiet he needed to be in certain situations. You did not have that luxury. You expected to hear no response at your knocking against his door. When you realized you were and were met with silence you opened the door ever so slightly.

“Hi, are you okay?”

He seemed surprised at your presence, his head lifting up from the small couch he was sitting on. Other than that he didn’t move a muscle, his head had turned back to glare at the fire roaring through the silence and you debated how much you could actually do to help.

“I’m fairly confident you’ve been warned by my friend that today wasn’t a great day.” He looked so…tired. The centuries of not sleeping seemed etched across his face. You stepped into his chambers and as gently as you could closed the door behind you. The soft click of the door, causing him to look at your direction. Clearly, no one has ever tried to push for an answer after his immediate and probably, automatic refusal to talk. For indestructible beings you found the lot of them to be cowards.

“I guess I’m a bit worried.”

“I didn’t mean to sca—”

“You don’t. That wasn’t what I meant.” Felix seemed taken aback by your irritation. You walked towards him slowly, until you stood give feet from where he sat. Ahi’s eyes never left you, he seemed worried as if he doubted whether his anger would get the best of him. You hadn’t had a moment to think Felix was ever someone to be afraid of. You suppose that he probably should have frightened you at least a bit, but thus far, he gave you no reason to worry, “you promise you’re okay?”

He opened his mouth to say yes, you surprised him when you reached your hand out extending your pinky. It was a simple act but you both seemed to understand exactly what you were asking him. Daring him actually. Daring him to lie to you again. He sighed and scooted over to one side of the couch he was sitting on. You were sat next to him in an instant. You waited for him to continue, refusing to say anything else before he changed his mind.

“A pinky promise? Really?”

“Strangely effective though, don’t you think?”

He chuckled, but even that seemed to pain him. Both of you remained silent for a while, “You can ask, I promise to answer.”

It was as if he was already separating two parts of himself. A process in which he would remove any emotion from the events that unfolded today. It was heartbreaking to see him like this. You supposed the coldness was what the people in the throne room saw. An effective mask, to say the least, “What do you need?”

“I- I’m sorry?”

“I would never force you to talk about something, it sounds like today was really intense. If you do want to talk I’m here. But I can just keep you company. Or we could go do something to get your mind off things. Like back to the sanctuary place I found and play with the dogs. Or if you really want to be alone that’s fine. But I need to know what would help. And I mean actually help, not just telling me you need space because that’s what you’re used to.”

“Help.” He quietly echoed, he seemed to be in a kind of daze. You reached out and grabbed his hand. There was in reality, nothing you could say. If and when you had to deal with an immortal child… it would have you tatters for weeks, if not months or years. The touch seemed to somewhat snap him out of it, “can I ask you to do something for me?”

There was a desperate tone in his voice that made you hesitate, “I can try…”

“Would you use your gift on me?”

“What do you mean?” You asked but really, you both knew that you understood exactly what he wanted

“I need to not think about it.”

“Felix. Falling asleep does not mean you will be able to rest.”

“Y/n please,” he begged, “I feel like I’m losing my mind, I need a break.”

“Felix I can’t control how long you’ll be out for. You could have over two days of terrible, horrifying nightmares which would be infinitely worse. What about the leaders, they need you. They would be furious. What if they punish you? What if—”

“Y/n please. They owe me a break at this point. I trust you.”

“Felix. I can’t control anything besides knocking you out.”

“Y/n I don’t think I’ve had a break in centuries. I could care less about what happens. Regardless all I am going to think about is that crying. I can’t… separate this one. She was so tiny, so…helpless? I’ve never had that moment where I’ve had to question what kind of life I could have had. Even as a human that wasn’t in the cards. That was never going to be my life. I feel like I can’t breathe and i need a—”

“Break. I know.” His pleas had worked. He had his limit. You doubted you would be able to say no to him regardless, “okay.”

“Okay?”

“Yeah. I’ll figure out how to explain it to the others. I’ll find Aro after.”

You saw panic in Felix’s face, “I-I’m sorry. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to you—”

“Felix relax. The more stressed you are the worse sleep you’ll have. I’ll be fine. Besides I’m faster than you so eventually I’ll win anyway.” You managed to get a small laugh out of him, before you gestured for him to go towards his bed. Before he laid down he brought you in an embrace you didn’t hesitate to return. It was sad really, seeing someone so strong look so weak. So tired. You only hoped sleep would bring him some kind of respite. You couldn’t bring yourself to let go first. Finding that somehow you were feeling comforted by his touch instead of the other way around. You both seemed to realize that you were holding on much too long for a friend helping another friend out. Still, you both seemed slow to pull away.

“Ready?”

“Remind me when I wake up that I owe you.”

“Let’s call us even for the time at that wildlife place.”

“I didn’t do anything.”

“You did a lot more than you think. But if you really want to pay me back you can take me back there when you have time.”

“Sounds like a date little one.” You felt yourself smile like an idiot. It took everything inside of you to not scream. Reminding yourself the way he spoke may mean something entirely different.

“Sweet dreams.”

Felix

It was a strange experience. Sleep. You wondered how long you had been out. Your senses being overwhelmed for the first time since your transformation. Your eyes were slow to open, your brain still scrambling to get a bearing on your surroundings. Most of your thoughts consumed by wondering if y/n was alright.

“Welcome back to the land of the living, my friend.” Demetri closed the book he was reading

“How long?”

“A few days.” He shrugged, “How are you feeling?”

“Rested.” You grumbled, “Is y/n..?”

“She’s alright. Taking a rest in the garden. She has been working pretty hard to keep a variety of plants alive around you.”

You took in the sight of various plants forming an arch of sorts around your bed. You had a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach, “What happened?”

“Your mate is a bit weary herself. The second you fell into your slumber she rushed to inform the kings. The whole castle could hear Caius screaming. I had given them a heads up but he was still less than pleased. She was pretty silent, just held her hand out to Aro. After that she was excused as Aro wanted to talk to Caius. The queens also were not very excited about how Caius showed his concern. After about six hours Y/n began worrying about how restless you seemed. Sulpicia and her were talking the second she left the meeting with the leaders. Afterwards she began bringing in various vases.” He gestured to the various things in your room, “She has been growing a variety of them. Supposedly calming. But she has been trying different combinations, it’s been pretty draining on her so Caius told her to try and relax so she took a walk.”

You tried to remember anything at all from the past few days. You had a vague memory of wanting to wake up early on. But it didn’t last. You weren’t exactly fond of that short time but Y/n had warned you it could be a miserable time. And afterwards you remembered nothing. Well, you certainly felt calm upon waking so whatever she did must have worked to an extent. You wished you could remember. Either way, while the feeling over that trial still lingered it didn’t seem so overpowering.

“I should probably find her.”

Demetri sighed, “Oh? You think so? And are you planning on telling her about the high chance of the mate bond yet?”

His question stopped you dead in your tracks, “Dem. I can’t.”

“Oh, come on Felix. You spend every second you can with her. You don’t think everyone has noticed you trying not to rush into her room just to talk to her. The only one clueless to how bad it is, is … well her. It’s starting to affect her too Felix. You honestly think she would be that worried about anyone else in the castle?”

Yes. “Actually—”

“It was a rhetorical question. Would she care of course, would she spend over forty hours continuously growing things to make sure you slept as soundly as you had, likely not. You’re hurting her more by not saying anything. And I am starting to grow quite fond of her so if you could, just move on with it.”

“It’s only been a few months. Its too soon. She is still adjusting.”

“Who is?” Jane interrupted, followed by Alec. “What? we heard you wake up.” She said in response to your clear confusion.

“Y/n apparently. Felix doesn’t want to tell her about the mate pull.”

“That’s dumb.” Alec stated, “If she finds out about it won’t she think you just dislike her?”

“A very good point, thank you Alec.”

You were absolutely not awake enough for this conversation, “Is she still in the garden?”

Demetri just nodded and you left to find her. Demetri or the twins could inform the leaders if they wanted to. You were in no way quiet but Y/n seemed completely unaware of your presence. She seemed to be taking in the sun as if she were a plant herself. The guilt that racked your body was immediate. You should have been more cautious in your plan. Had Aro not been there…you worried what Caius would do in his fits of anger, you’d seen it. And no matter how much the queens seemed to favor y/n…. The fact that she gotten herself to a point of exhaustion herself…

“Y/n?”

“Felix, you’re awake!” The sun was barely out. Autumn brought more clouds to the small town. Yet the light reflected off of the diamonds on her skin, you’d never been so enchanted by the prisms glittering her body. You spent the first week avoiding her like a fool, and the last month trying to spend any excuse to see her. You found yourself telling her things you’d never spoken aloud. It was as if your mind was waiting to meet her so it could unload everything you had ever wanted to talk about. She never pushed for more than what you were ready to share, and it made it easier to want to keep talking. Had she done so well, you worried about how deep you’d bring her into your world. You worried she would see you for the monster everyone else saw you as. You worried you were putting too much on her plate. And still it felt so easy to not worry about upkeeping a certain persona.

“How are you feeling?”

“Better than I have in years if I am being honest. Though I don’t remember much.”

“That’s probably my fault. I was trying to work with some plants that have been known to cause amnesia. I probably overstepped, I’m sorry.”

“Y/n believe me you have no reason to be sorry. I was not in the right headspace and it was a lot to ask of you.”

“I mean its kind of understandable. If you ever do want to talk about it, you know where I live.” She seemed to dance around saying anything on the actual subject. You wonder how scared you must have made her when you all but forced her to use her gift on you. You remember the warning Demetri had given her on that day. He of all people knew not to mess with you on those kinds of days. You would use any excuse to pick a fight. Y/ns voice still rang clear in your head. You wondered if she had changed her mind.”

“Y/n, would you still like to go see that place you found?”

She tilted her head as if debating on what kind of excuse could get her out of your question. Or perhaps regarding you for what you were, the executioner of the volturi. Dangerous by all accounts. The silence was making you crazy, it was taking everything to not retract your initial question.

“Are you asking me as a friend or as a date?”

“Would my answer change yours?”

“No.” Her certainty out measured your unease.

“Then I do believe we had made plans for a date.”

Foreign Exchange Student

Word Count: 6,301 Demetri x Reader Oneshot Warnings: Fluff, angst

Matt was 17 years old when he was turned, collateral damage after two vampires killed his parents and him, or so they thought. Matt had woken up alone and scared and had run into Carlisle outside Fork’s General Hospital. Carlisle explained to him that he was a vampire and that was the reason why he was craving blood. “If you want to stay in the area, you will need to be better at hunting and disposing of your meal or you’ll attract the attention of the Volturi and that won’t end well for you” “Who are the Volturi?” Matt asked “They are the governing body of our world and while there are not many rules to follow but they are enforced, so it’s best to learn them and stay under their radar.” “Ok, thank you for telling me and for the advice” Matt replied as he and Carlisle walked towards Carlisle’s car.

Carlisle took Matt home with him and he and Esme informed Matt all about vampires, their laws and that they were vegetarian by feeding on animals. Matt understood the rules and was aware of the treaty and although he gained self-control around humans rather quickly, he still craved the human blood diet after sticking to the vegetarian diet for a year. After a long talk Esme, Carlisle and Matt left things in an amicable way before he left to go to Volterra, wanting to meet the Kings and learn more about this new world.

Matt was accepted into the guard as Caius was impressed with Matt’s curiosity of the Volturi, their laws and the fact that he chose the traditional vampire diet over the unconventional vegetarian diet. ‘Caius 1 – Carlisle 0’ He thought to himself with a smile.

The Kings had allowed Matt to go to college and as a result he ended up being chosen as part of the foreign exchange programme, where he and a human girl would swap homes for twelve weeks. The Kings were not entirely convinced it was a good idea but Matt pleaded his case as he would be in Seattle, which meant his secret was less likely to be exposed due to the wet and cold weather. “I have enough self-control not to eat the human family I’d be staying with, not to mention Carlisle Cullen is only a short running distance from where I’ll be if I need help or anything. Also, I’m sure that the guards here can help you keep our secret from the human girl.” The Kings nodded “Very true and it was Carlisle who helped you get control in the first place despite not being your sire. We will do everything we can to ensure she doesn’t learn of our secret so she can return home at the end of her stay” Matt nodded as Marcus spoke “As we are allowing you to take part in this programme you must check in with us regularly” Caius added and Matt nodded as he replied “I understand and thank you masters.”

Marcus’ wing had an empty room that wasn’t being used for anything and so he offered it to be used by Y/N for the duration of her stay. Due to Marcus’ good level of self-control around humans his brothers did not question this generous offer. “The girl will be safer in my wing of the castle than in one of the guest rooms on the lower floors” “Agreed brother” Aro replied with a smile.

Heidi and Chelsea redecorated the room and made it a little more modern as it hadn’t been touched for centuries. The walls were painted a soft grey and a pair of silver and white curtains hung over the balcony doors. The bathroom was painted cream and new towels and flannels were bought along with new bedspreads, one was grey with soft pink flowers, one was cream with grey stripes and the last was pale pink with silver swirls. A large cream and grey fluffy rug was placed in front of the fireplace and Chelsea got Afton to put up some shelves so she could put some books in the room, thus giving Y/N something to do when she wasn’t doing schoolwork.

Y/N arrived in Volterra mid-November ready to spend twelve weeks with her ‘new’ family whilst Matt had gone to stay with her family courtesy of the foreign exchange programme. Santiago and Chelsea went to collect Y/N from the airport. Chelsea held up the sign with Y/N’s name on and watched as she made their way towards them with a small smile ‘nerves I bet’ Chelsea thought to herself. “Hello Y/N I’m Chelsea and this is Santiago, it’s very nice to meet you” “It’s nice to meet you too” Y/N replied.

Although the Volturi were prepared for a human to stay with them for twelve weeks, nothing prepared them for what happened on her first night at the castle.

Once back at the castle Chelsea took Y/N to the throne room to meet Aro and Caius whilst Santiago took her luggage up to her room. Santiago knocked on the door to Marcus’ private study and was greeted by Demetri, Marcus’ personal guard. “Evening Santiago, everything ok?” “Evening Demetri and yes everything’s ok. I just wanted to let Marcus know that Y/N has arrived and is in the throne room being introduced to Aro and Caius” Santiago replied. “Lovely, we’ll come down to meet her” Marcus called out softly as he rose from his desk and made his way to the door.

The atmosphere in the throne changed the moment Marcus and Demetri entered the throne room. Demetri felt a new tenor reaching out to him, no calling to him and he realised almost instantly who the new tenor belonged to as Y/N was the only new person in the room. “Ahh brother you’re back. Come meet Y/N” Aro says with a smile and Marcus makes his way up to his throne, Demetri following him but stopping beside Y/N, turning to look at her “Y/N meet Demetri, he’s one of the elite guards and Marcus’ bodyguard” Aro says pointing at Demetri. Y/N turns to look at the person standing next to her and her breath catches in her throat unable to speak. Marcus smiles knowingly and taps Aro’s shoulder as he holds out his other hand.

“Hello Y/N, it’s nice to meet you” Demetri says with a smile “It-It’s nice to meet you too” She replies looking up at him with a small smile of her own. “Well, our secret will need to be shared now” Aro said low to Marcus who nodded. Caius’ gaze went from his brothers to Demetri and Y/N and back again and then it clicked. He stood from his throne and approached his brothers “Are they mates brother?” He asked low looking at Marcus, who nodded. “That’ll make the next twelve weeks a little easier round here” Caius replied. “Y/N, I’d like you to meet my brother Marcus” Aro said, gaining her attention. Y/N turned to face the Kings and smiled at Marcus “It’s nice to meet you” “And you my dear” He replied smiling before turning to Demetri and giving him a knowing smile and a nod. “Demetri, please show Y/N to her room, she must want to rest after her long flight. I’ll meet you back in my study shortly” Marcus said softly “Yes master” Demetri replied and turned to face Y/N “If you want to follow me” She nodded and followed him, thanking him for holding the throne room door open for her.

Demetri pointed out things about the castle along the way, like how old certain paintings or tapestries were. He even showed her the three suits of armour but neglected to mention they were worn by the Kings during the fourteenth century after Aro saw humans wearing them in battle and thought it’d be fun to wear them in mock battles / training sessions in the castle gardens. He chuckled low at the memory.

“This is the West wing and this your room. You share the wing with Marcus” Demetri said as he opened the door for her. “Thank you for showing me to my room” She smiled at up him, oh how he loved her smile already. Demetri resisted the urge to pick her up and carry her to his room, fighting his instincts to have her close to him where he could protect her. “You’re welcome Y/N, goodnight” “Goodnight Demetri.” He closed the door behind him and made his way to Marcus’ study, wanting nothing to more than to talk with the King and have him confirm that Y/N really is his mate.

“Ah Demetri, I trust Y/N is settled into her room” Marcus said as the tracker entered his study “Yes, she is…” “What’s on your mind?” Marcus asked “I like her, I mean really like her. I want her close to me, want to protect her but I don’t dare believe I’m lucky enough to call her my mate” Demetri replied “Well believe me, she is your mate and you have our blessing to tell her about mates, vampires and our world. Also we are giving you two weeks off so you can get to know her initially without your duties getting in the way” Demetri’s mouth fell open in shock and Marcus laughed “Take a seat, I’m guessing you have questions” Demetri nodded and sat in the chair opposite Marcus. “Thank you for the time off it’s appreciated and yes I do have a few questions” Marcus nodded for him to continue “How would you suggest I tell her we’re mates; I mean I only met her an hour ago and yet I’m already drawn to her? How do I tell her that vampires really exist and that we survive on human blood without scaring her? How do I tell her that all I want to do is to be near her, hold her, protect her?” Marcus chuckled again “Let’s answer them one at a time” Demetri nodded and waited for Marcus to speak again.

“Firstly, I suggest that tomorrow you give her a proper tour of the castle and the grounds and introduce her to Gianna. Whilst doing this ask her questions about herself, her likes, dislikes, hobbies etc and she will no doubt answer you and ask you those things in return, thus you getting to know one another without any pressure. Secondly, tell her about vampires including that we have soulmates, be sure to mention that we only get one in our lifetime and mates are to be loved and protected forever. Also tell her about our diet but make sure you tell her she is safe with us, that no harm will befall her. Gianna will also be proof that she is safe. We can give her a history lesson once she’s been here a while. Thirdly, tell her that she is your mate, remind her of your previous conversation about mates, about the fact you will be protective of her whether she be human or vampire. Just to clarify only step one is to be executed tomorrow.” Demetri nodded “Step two can be done the day after and step three can be done after a month, this will have given her time to get to know you and come to trust you” “Thank you for your advice, truly. Please forgive me for asking this as I know it probably goes without saying but please keep her safe whilst she’s here sharing your wing…until I am able to have her with me in my quarters” “No forgiveness needed dear boy. I would have been disappointed in you if you hadn’t asked me to keep her safe” Marcus replied “Really?” “Yes, really. I know I said before she arrived that she’d be safe here with me but things have changed, she is your mate, your one true love and I would expect you to want her to be kept safe both with and without your presence” “Thank you again master, I am very grateful.” Marcus nodded and they sat in a comfortable silence for a bit as they both digested this evening’s revelation.

The following morning Demetri knocked on Y/N’s door with a tray of food. “Good morning Y/N, I have bought you breakfast” “Good morning Demetri, thank you that’s really kind of you” She smiled and stepped back allowing him to enter her room. “Heidi and Chelsea did a good job with the room” He mused aloud and she nodded “I like the colour scheme; it suits the room don’t you think?” He nodded and smiled at her “It does yes, who thought grey, pink and cream would be such a good combination.”

Y/N ate her breakfast as Demetri read one of the books from the shelves. “I thought I would give you a proper tour of the castle and the grounds, what do you think?” “I’d like that, thank you” She replied and smiled at him again. ‘I hope she still smiles at me tomorrow when I tell her vampires exist, that I’m a vampire, that everyone here is a vampire, excluding Gianna’ He thought to himself, his own smile fading a little.

As he gave her a tour off the castle they spoke about their favourite things, their hobbies and she asked about his job at the castle. Demetri found it very easy to talk to her despite the noticeable age gap between them, although Y/N was unaware of his true age. He discovered that he and his mate had lots in common and the few differences they had would only make life more interesting as the years went on.

Demetri took Y/N out into the garden and showed her over to the Queen’s prized Roses and took a seat on the bench there. “Y/N there are a few things we need to discuss” “Ok, I’m listening” She replied and turned to face him. “I need you to hear me out before you react and please know you are safe here. I promise” “O-ok” She moved back on the bench a little and he could tell that she seemed a little nervous now and he cursed himself for being the reason. He took a deep unneeded breath before speaking. “I am a vampire, everyone here in the castle are vampires with the exception of Gianna. She is human, the same as you.” Y/N laughed thinking he was joking with her but he didn’t smile or laugh along with her. “You’re not joking, are you?” “No, Y/N I’m not” He replied and watched for her reaction “You said to hear you out and to know that I am safe here, what else do I need to know?” He could tell from her voice and the change in her posture that she was unsure if she wanted to know the answer. “Vampires are immortal and we survive by drinking blood. Myself and my family survive on the traditional diet of human blood…” He noticed Y/N’s eyes widen and he quickly but gently took her hand in his, letting his thumbs rub soothing circles on her hand. “…You are safe here remember, just as Gianna is. Noone at the castle will harm you and your parents are safe with Matt too” “My-my parents. They-they have a vampire living with them…I-I need to tell them…” “You can’t tell them Y/N. The existence of vampires must be kept a secret” “But-but you’ve told me” “That’s because there’s an entire castle full of us, how long do you think it would be until one of them let slip our secret. Matt has good self-control around humans and we have friends in the area who are vegetarian if he needs help in regards to hunting…” “Friends in the area? You mean I’ve been living near vampires and not known it?” She asked cutting him off, shock clearly showing on her face and he nodded “Yes…” “Wait. Hold up. You said your friends were vegetarian. How can vampires be vegetarian?” She cut him off again and he chuckled “They are vegetarian because they feed on the blood of animals instead of humans.” Y/N’s mouth fell open slightly in shock.

A few moments of silence settled between them as she tried to understand what Demetri had just told her. “Are you ok Y/N?” His voice low, concern etched onto his face “I-I think so. It-it’s a lot to take in you know. I mean I thought vampires were characters from literature but it turns out you’re walking around amongst us humans and we don’t even know it” “I can understand that. It was a big shock when I found out about vampires after I was turned” He replied “Can I ask how long you’ve been a vampire? Unless that’s rude to ask then don’t worry” He chuckled again, finding her curiosity endearing “It’s not rude to ask and I’ve been a vampire for over a 1000 years now” “WOW!” She was clearly shocked by his answer “Well you don’t look that old, you’ve aged well Demetri” She complimented him and if he could have blushed, he would have. “Thank you, Y/N. Vampires are frozen at the age they were, when they are turned” “Oh, well that makes sense I suppose. How old were you when you became immortal?” “I was 21 at the time” “Ah I see, that explains why you look so good for your age” Again, if he could have blushed his cheeks would be rosy “You look very good for your age too Y/N” He replied with a smile and her cheeks took on a light blush at his words.

“Is there anything else I need to know about vampires?” “Yes, actually quite a bit but some of it can wait for another day” He replied and watched as she moved a little closer to him “Can you tell me the stuff that can’t wait for another day?” He smiled and nodded at her, pleased she was taking the news well. “Vampires have mates, soulmates to be exact and we only get one mate in our lifetime…” She nodded in understanding as he continued speaking “…Mates are very precious to one another and are loved and protected for forever.” “Forever is such a long time, what would happen if you fell out of love with one another?” “It doesn’t happen darling. Mates are for life, for eternity really. That’s why we only get one. If we lose our mate, we never get over it. Sadness, loneliness and eventually a deep depression befalls us. I’ve known a few vampires who have lost their mate and they have dealt with it differently” Y/N shifted a little closer and rested her other hand on his “The idea of soulmates sounds so romantic, to be loved and cherished forever would be every girl’s dream…and boy’s I’m sure…” He chuckled lightly as she added the last bit hurriedly “…But the consequences that befall your kind if you lose a mate sound horrible, unbearable even” “It is. Marcus lost his mate long before I joined the family and he hasn’t got over it but then the love the two of them shared was very deep, from what I have been told.” Y/N’s eyes became glassy “Poor Marcus. I can’t believe he has to spend the rest of his existence alone” Demetri hesitantly wiped away the lone tear that fell down her cheek ‘Bless her kind heart and soul’ he thought to himself, a small smile settled on his face.

Over the course of the week Y/N spent time with Demetri and they got to know one another better. He gave her a tour of the city on a cloudy day, wanting to show her what the city had to offer. “Why can we only leave the castle on a cloudy day?” “Because despite what literature would have you believe Vampires do not burn in sunlight and turn to ash…we sparkle” Y/N’s face broke into a wide smile and couldn’t help giggling “I’m being serious Y/N, I sparkle in sunlight and if we had left the castle yesterday I would have exposed my kind and I would have been punished severely” He replied and she stopped laughing, noticing a serious look settling on his face. “How severely are we talking?” “Dismemberment and thrown in the dungeon for a few decades, a century maybe…at least or…” “Or what?” “Death. I would be torn apart and the pieces burnt. Burning us is the only way to kill us” The shock that crossed her face and the hurt look in her eyes told him that she felt something for him, he just couldn’t say what that something was.

That evening Felix stopped by for a visit and terrified Y/N when his booming voice sounded behind her. “Hello little human. You smell delicious” Y/N jumped, a scream left her lips and Demetri was by her side in a flash, growling at Felix. “FELIX! REALLY?” He turned his back to his friend, placing his hands gently on her arms and rubbing them gently to calm her “Y/N it’s ok, Felix is my friend and that was his way of saying hello…” She nodded as she placed her hands on his arms “…He’s not the brightest of vampires at times” “HEY! I resent that D” Felix called back before slowly stepping into the room and approaching Y/N and Demetri. “I am sorry I scared you…but you do smell delicious by the way…” “FELIX!” “…But I would never harm you. I promise” He added with a smile and watched as Y/N nodded slowly “Hello Felix” Her voice soft and quiet. Demetri wanted to hit his friend for scaring his mate, but neither Felix nor Y/N knew what she was to him yet and so he took an unneeded breath and counted to ten in his head.

Later that night Demetri paid Felix a visit to his room “We need to talk” “Hello to you D” Felix replied sarcastically “Hello Fe” “What would you like to talk to me about?” “Y/N is my mate and although she doesn’t know it yet, I won’t stand for anyone scaring her or harming her…” Demetri stepped closer to Felix and poked his chest as he continued to speak “…And.that.includes.you” “Ok D. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to scare her and you know I’d never hurt her…your mate or not, she’s under the King’s protection for as long as she’s here” “I’m aware of that Fe…” Demetri couldn’t help growling at his friend as he continued to talk “…But she’s mine and I will protect her forever” Felix took a step back “Relax D. She’s safe with me and I’ll protect her too. I promise” Demetri nodded “Thank you” “You’re welcome and if you’ve finished growling at me, how about a game of cards?” Felix asked, his tone light. Demetri chuckled “Sounds good.”

Y/N went to Demetri’s room, curious to check out his book collection as he had mentioned he had a few bookcases in his room full of different genres. “It’s a like a mini library, I could stay here all day and read” She said over her shoulder, a light chuckle escaping her. “Then why don’t you? Spend the day in here with me…I mean?” He asked, his voice got lower as he spoke suddenly feeling a little unsure of himself. She turned to face him with a big smile on her face “Really? You don’t mind?” Demetri chuckled “I wouldn’t have asked if I did darling” She nodded and sat on the sofa with a book and watched as Demetri added a few logs to the fire before joining her on the sofa with a book of his own, pleased he got to spend another day alone with his mate.

Y/N had been at the castle for about a month and had become close friends with Demetri and Heidi. Felix still made her a little nervous although she tried hard to not show it. Alec and Jane were polite to her whenever they saw her but they were not ready to take the next step of befriending her. Demetri was ok with this for now as it meant he go to spend more time with her, something that he greatly enjoyed and appreciated. “So…when are you going to tell Y/N that you’re mates?” Heidi asked as Demetri and her made their way to greet to the ‘tourists’ “Soon, I’m just waiting for the right moment” He replied “Mmm, ok” Heidi replied, knowing that Demetri was stalling because he was worried that Y/N may not want him that way.

A few days later Demetri returned to his room after Guard duty to find Y/N studying in his room “Hope you don’t mind but I needed this book of yours and your room is quieter than the library. Afton, Felix and a few of the others were having a ‘discussion’…” Y/N used air quotes “…about Animal Farm. Apparently Felix is not convinced that it is a book with political themes as it involves farmyard animals…” Demetri could see the amusement shining in her eyes as she spoke “…Afton and the others are trying to explain / convince him that the author used the animals to portray the political views as he thought it would make the topic easier to digest” “I’m going to assume it got rather loud then” He chuckled and she nodded “If you want me to leave so you can relax I will and I’ll return your book tomorrow” Y/N said and began to close her laptop and books. Demetri placed his hand on hers gently as he spoke “You are welcome in here anytime darling, you know that” “But…” “But nothing” He cut her off “I’m going for a shower and to change and you’re going to continue working on that essay” “Are you sure? I know you’ve had a long day” “I’m sure” He replied smiling, liking how her scent filled his room. Y/N nodded and got to back to work “Enjoy your shower” “I will” He replied and made his way to the bathroom to freshen up.

Y/N ate dinner in Demetri’s room whilst she studied. Demetri was at his desk sorting out paperwork but couldn’t help looking over at her every few minutes. “You ok Dem?” Y/N asked “Hmm?” Demetri replied, he had become distracted “I’ve been trying to get your attention but you seem to be in your own little world” She chuckled “Sorry” “Don’t be. I just wanted to say my essay is done and I’m going to give you your room back” “NO” His reply louder than intended “Sorry” He stood and took her hand in his “You don’t have to go Y/N, stay…relax…please” Y/N chuckled “Ok, ok I’ll stay and keep you company Dem” She patted his chest before turning around and walking towards the sofa. Demetri took a book from one of his bookshelves before taking a seat next to Y/N on the sofa and reading to her aloud.

Y/N woke up in Demetri’s arms in the early hours of the morning and smiled seeing his arms still wrapped around her as they laid on the sofa. “Sorry I feel asleep Dem” Her voice held a sleepy tone to it “Don’t be, this is the closest I’ve gotten to sleep in about a thousand years” He replied low and she chuckled “Well, I’ll just go back to sleep then and let you continue to ‘sleep’ too” “Sounds good to me, although I think I’ll move us to the bed as there’s more room…” “As long as I can still sleep in your arms” “That’s a definite darling, don’t worry about that” He lifted her into his arms and carried her to his bed. He pulled back the duvet and gently laid her down before climbing in beside her, pulling the duvet over them. She moved closer to him and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close “Goodnight darling” “Goodnight Dem.” Y/N felt safe with Demetri even when she was asleep, something that surprised her considering he was a vampire who survived on human blood.

The next morning Demetri decided that Y/N needed to know that she was his mate as he wanted to start their forever together. “Y/N I need to tell you something, it’s important” “Ok, I’m listening Dem” She replied as she turned to face him giving him her full attention. “Do you remember the conversation we had about vampires and mates?” She nodded and he continued “Y/N you are my mate, my soulmate…” “Well that explains why I find myself falling in love with you so quickly” She said cutting him off and watched as his lips curved into a big smile “I’m falling in love with you too and I will always protect you whether you’re human or vampire” He replied and leant forward pressing his lips to hers in a soft and loving kiss. He pulled back allowing her to breathe before leaning back in for another kiss. He pulled away again and gently rested his forehead against hers. “Move into my room darling” “I-I’m not ready for that but how do you feel about regular sleepovers?” He thought for a moment and then nodded “It’s a good compromise darling” She smiled back at him “Thank you for understanding Dem” “Always darling.”

Two days later Demetri took Y/N out on their first official date starting at the Natural History Museum as she had mentioned about a new exhibit that had been unveiled recently. They then walked around the old, cobbled streets and Y/N noticed the market stalls. They walked hand in hand browsing at what the stalls had to offer and Demetri noticed a jewellery stall and bought her a gold heart-shaped locket. He put it in his pocket quickly so she wouldn’t see it as she approached him and slipped her arm through his.

Once they arrived back at the castle Demetri took her to the kitchen and the first thing she noticed was that one of the tables was covered in a white table cloth with a silver candelabra sitting in the middle of the table. Two sets of silver cutlery were laid on the table beside white plates placed on silver placemats. The smell of Lasagne and garlic bread filled the air and Y/N’s stomach grumbled low. “I think someone is hungry” Demetri spoke low in her ear and she nodded “It smells wonderful.” “Please take a seat and dinner will be served” Gianna said softly as she entered the room, Heidi following behind her. Heidi had laid the table exactly as Demetri has asked and Gianna had cooked Y/N’s favourite meal along with a Banana Rum cake for dessert. Heidi opened a bottle of wine and poured Y/N and Demetri a glass each. “This is amazing Dem, thank you” “You’re welcome mi amore” He replied with a loving smile. “Thank you Heidi, Gianna for helping him” “It was our pleasure hunny” Heidi replied and Gianna nodded “I also get to eat the lovely meal I prepared for you so it’s a win win for me” She chuckled “Dinner is delicious G” Y/N complimented with a smile “Just wait till you get to the dessert” Y/N nodded and smiled at her.

Once they had finished dinner they made their way upstairs and Demetri led her to his room, closing the door behind them. Y/N took a seat on the sofa and waited for Demetri to join her. “I have something for you darling” He reached into his pocket and pulled out the box and handed it to her. She opened the box and a gasp slipped from her lips “It’s beautiful, thank you Dem” She leant forward and kissed him “I love you” He kissed her back “I love you too darling.”

Over the next two months when Demetri wasn’t on guard duty or missions and Y/N wasn’t busy studying, they worked on building their relationship wanting it to be strong enough to survive being apart once she returned home to finish the academic year. “Mates don’t well apart but we’ll text and speak on the phone daily and when I’m able I will come visit you in Forks” Demetri said trying to sound upbeat when really he was sad at having to be apart from his mate. “Exactly, we’ll make this work Dem, I promise” She replied before going on her tip toes and kissing him, his hands going to her waist to pull her flush against his body.

Y/N’s last day in Volterra came too quickly for her and Demetri’s liking. “You all packed?” Felix asked from the doorway “Yep” Y/N replied over her shoulder “D will be ok. I’ll look after him” Felix said as he came to stand behind her, resting a hand gently on her shoulder “You’ll be ok too. You’ll have your family and friends to look after you” Y/N nodded in response, feeling tears building behind her eyes. She took one last look around the room ensuring she hadn’t left anything behind before taking a deep breath and following Felix downstairs to the throne room.

“I’m going to miss having you around my dear” Marcus said to Y/N as he gently wrapped his arms around her “Just remember this is your home and we cannot wait until you are back with us” Aro said as he hugged Y/N goodbye “Yes, the castle will definitely be quieter without you here…and I’m not sure that I like that” Caius added as he gave her a quick one armed hug “Safe travels my dear and come back home as soon as you can” Athenodora said as she and Sulpicia both wrapped Y/N in a tight hug. “I’m going to miss you all as well” Y/N replied, knowing she was going to miss the castle full of vampires.

Once Y/N had said goodbye to everyone Demetri took her hand in his and led her to the castle doors. He pulled her into his arms wrapping them tightly around her although being careful not to hurt her. “I’m going to miss you Dem, so very much” Her voice muffled slightly as she nuzzled into him “I’m going to miss you too darling. I wish you could stay” He kissed the top of her head “Me too but I can’t, I have to return home so I can graduate” “I know, I know” His voice low. He pulled back a little and captured her lips in a loving kiss “I love you my darling” Tears slipped down her cheeks “I love you too Dem.” He cupped her face in his hands and gently wiped away the tears with his thumbs.

Demetri and Y/N struggled to be apart as they and everyone else knew they would, the silver lining being that this time apart was just a temporary situation. Y/N cried herself to sleep most nights as she missed him, missed being around him and felt hollow inside, like a part of her was missing. Demetri felt like he had been ripped in two, he missed being with Y/N, missed seeing her around the castle and in his room especially since her scent had faded from his room weeks ago.

They both were counting down the days until they could be reunited forever. “Two weeks left” Demetri said aloud as he crossed another day off the calendar. He looked around his room and smiled at the few feminine touches he had added ready for Y/N’s return. He had bought a few fluffy blankets and some throw pillows as he knew that she liked to snuggle up on the sofa with a good book after a hard day studying. He also got Heidi to buy some dresses for Y/N so she had something nice to wear for their upcoming dates.

Demetri drove to the airport to collect Y/N despite originally asking Santiago to go as he was meant to be on duty but Santiago declined and offered to do his shift instead. “Go collect your girl, I’ll do your shift” “Really?” “Yea, but you owe me one” Santiago called as Demetri sprinted towards the underground garage.

Once Y/N had collected her suitcase and cleared customs she made her way outside the airport expecting to see Santiago but was surprised when she heard a familiar voice “Hello darling” She spun around quickly and smiled “Demi” She called out as she ran to him, he caught her easily and spun around with her in his arms. He put her down and captured her lips with his, the kiss was hot and needy “MINE” He growled in her ear as he buried his head in the crook of her neck “Always” She replies kissing his cheek and wrapping her arms around his waist tightly.

Once back at the castle Demetri parks his car and pulls Y/N into his arms “Dem” She squeals in surprise and feels her mate’s arms wrap around her firmly. They breathed in each other’s scents and Y/N felt her stomach drop as she remembered that she would have to sleep alone again tonight despite being back in the castle. Demetri picked up the subtle change in Y/N’s demeanour following their embrace and knew what was bothering her. “Move into my quarters darling” “Sorry” Y/N replied shaking her head, thinking she had heard him wrong. “Move into my quarters darling” He repeated himself “On one condition” She replied quickly “Anything, it’s yours” He replied just as quickly and she chuckled before replying “I want to sleep in your arms every night…whilst I’m human at least” “Darling, I will hold you in my arms every night for eternity” He replied before capturing her lips in a loving kiss. Eternity just got a little sweeter for both of them.
