Noted food historian Sally Grainger prepares an ancient Roman dish using Ferula drudeana during an experiment at Istanbul’s Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden. “Silphion is a fascinating plant, and I can understand why the Romans craved it,” she says.

Hi,
I make period drama style gifs for free. If you use gif packs, please like and reblog them. Most of my projects are already ready, but every day I post no more than 190 gifs. Because that was the reason why my previous account was blocked.
I tried to make gif packs in a format more familiar to you with a link to a separate page. However, unfortunately, I did not succeed because of the large format of high-quality gifs.
I want to explain about color processing. Usually, I improve the contrast, brightness and saturation, but leave the naturalness of the film. I don't make the contours too sharp because I like the aesthetic of it looking like a natural image.

(Edgar Allan Poe)
“Traum ohne Ende” (“Dead of Night”) (1945)

Vessels of Woven Copper Wire by Sally Blake Mimic the Patterns of Natural Lifeforms
August 18, 2022

From her studio in Canberra, Australian artist Sally Blake (previously) twists and plaits copper wire into baskets and sculptures evocative of the organic matter ubiquitous around the planet. Seed pods, sprawling networks of bulbous pockets and thin, sinuous veins, and mammalian bronchial systems emerge from the malleable material, and through intricately woven motifs, Blake accentuates the tension between delicacy and resilience inherent to natural life. “Visualisation of the natural laws and patterning that hold people in relationship with Earth, as well as the consequences of these unravelling, is my focus,” she tells Colossal. “I feel deeply about disconnections in human understanding and care of the natural world, which result in environmental crises”
Currently, Blake is working on metallic vessels for a solo show opening on October 20 at Canberra’s Grainger Gallery, in addition to sculptures for a group exhibition in Sydney later this fall. She has a few baskets, in addition to stitched pieces and other two-dimensional works, available in her shop, and you can follow her latest projects—which include drawing all of the world’s owl species—on Instagram.

Jane Eyre (2011), clothing from the 1830s to the 1840s. Costume design by Michael O'Connor. Historical clothing sophistication
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Analyse: This is probably the most wonderful Jane Eyre film! From hairstyles to costumes are very consistent with history, and they can fully reflect the clothing characteristics of different periods, which can be called perfect! As a tutor, Jane Eyre really doesn't need a lot of clothes, nor does she need to be very gorgeous. But Michael used different colors and patterns to make Jane Eyre's clothes simple but not boring. The rich Miss Ingram is the representative of fashion in the 1840s. It can be seen that Michael wants to put the most gorgeous side of the 1840s on her. Another woman with few roles, Jane Eyre's aunt, is a fashion representative in the 1830s. Her two sets of costumes, including her hair style, present the most representative shapes in the romantic period. It is rare that Michael also takes care of this role. It can be seen that the shapes of other roles are also absolutely meticulous! Recommend this version!

Great Expectations (2012)
"I have been bent and broken, but I hope into a better shape."
#great expectations#charles dickens#mike newell#films i done watched#2012#jeremy irvine#holliday grainger#ralph fiennes#jason flemyng#helena bonham carter#Toby Irvine#sally hawkins#Helena Barlow#david walliams#olly alexander#Daniel Weyman#robbie coltrane#Edward Fleming#william ellis#david nicholls#novel adaptation#Perhaps it's because he filled his works with so many richly drawn characters but I always feel a Dickens adaptation stands or falls on its#Casting. This is a hit and miss affair: Fiennes and Flemyng are well cast; Irvine makes a fine pip (which is to say he left me suitably#Enraged throughout the middles scenes. I always forget how much I hate Pip the ungrateful little sod. Joe is too pure too good...).#Grainger is fine but by the very nature of the part underused. Coltrane I'm uneasy about but the real crime is HBC as Miss Havisham. Great#Expectations is one of the most emotionally and morally complex of Dickens novels and Havisham one of the most complex characters (when#Played correctly!). HBC naturally plays her with much eccentricity and visual accessory and it just feels wrong. Similarly the casting of#David Walliams is a tonal misstep tho at least he is in a small role. Other than that it's a fine version if necessarily rushed. 2hrs isn't#Really long enough to do GE and if anything the producers needed to pare the story down; take out some of the minor bits (the aged parent#For example) and allow more time and more space to develop the main plots of Pip Magwitch Havisham et Al

JANE EYRE (2011) Grade: C-
Again, a film that should stay a book. I just don't see how the plot translates to a good film. The cast is good enough, as with the set designs, that you could stay till the end.
