Un emocionante viaje a Cusco

En 2001, vivíamos en Venezuela cuando mi amigo Nicolás me llamó para invitarme a un emocionante viaje a Cusco, pasando por Bolivia y el salar de Uyuni a la vuelta. Mi hijo Sebas, que entonces tenía 16 años, estaba a punto de terminar el colegio en junio de ese año, y se incorporó rápidamente al programa.

Para pedir permiso para faltar al colegio de Sebas, tuve que ir a su colegio y explicar que sólo serían unos días laborables, debido a la Semana Santa y las vacaciones. Afortunadamente, no hubo ningún problema.

Cuando llegó la hora de partir, sólo tuve que preparar mi Cherokee en Buenos Aires para el largo viaje que me esperaba. Después de revisar los neumáticos y llenar el depósito, partimos hacia el aeropuerto de Santo Domingo, uno de los dos que sirven a San Cristóbal, para tomar el vuelo a Caracas y de allí a Buenos Aires.

Una vez en la capital argentina, nos pusimos en contacto con Nicolás para coordinar dónde nos encontraríamos en Salta, desde donde comenzaría nuestro viaje. Decidimos salir temprano y tomar la RN 34 pasando por ciudades como Rafaela, Santiago del Estero y Tucumán para llegar a Salta.

A pesar de la emoción del viaje y de la buena velocidad que llevábamos, decidimos tomarnos la ruta con calma y disfrutar de los hermosos paisajes de Argentina. Finalmente, llegamos a Salta y nos encontramos con Nicolás en el hotel acordado.

A partir de ese momento, nuestro viaje se convirtió en una experiencia inolvidable, llena de aventuras y descubrimientos. Visitamos Cusco y las ruinas de Machu Picchu, atravesamos el salar de Uyuni y exploramos Bolivia. Cada momento del viaje fue especial y emocionante, y estoy agradecida de haber tenido la oportunidad de compartirlo con mi hijo.

Este viaje a Cusco fue una aventura inolvidable que siempre recordaré con cariño.

Salar de Uyuni Tour Day 4 We got up at an hour even the sparrows would raise an eyebrow at to gawp at the sky. Worth it! The galactic core was right above us, all dusty and spectacular and wonderful. Obviously it didn't look with the naked eye like it does in the photo, that's Lightroom jiggery pokery. I'm continually impressed with my little #SonyRX100 We watched the fiery skyball creep above the horizon then shovelled some cake into our chops before our driver took us to a particularly vast expanse of white so we could repeatedly demonstrate the lack of perspective on the salt flats. It's not as easy as it looks but it's a metric fuck tonne of fun. One last thing we put in our eyeholes was the train cemetery which is basically several rusting hulks of very old trains left to rot in a field and rebranded as a tourist attraction.
