every day is a normal day until I am reminded of the utter look of shock on Subaru’s face when he realizes that the story he had told himself over the last, what? 9 years? was not necessarily entirely true...

“I tried to kill you from the bottom of my heart. I tried to live erasing your existence from my mind. But I couldn’t. Even if you thought I was just a stone, even if it didn’t feel like stepping on a withered branch... and still. That’s why I wanted to be killed by you.”

it’s a nice reminder that the stories that we tell ourselves to make meaning about what happens to us aren’t always necessarily the absolute truth, but a limited version of reality based on our own mental biases.

I was researching something unrelated and stumbled over the art of Kobayashi Kaichi. As you can see, I was unable to walk away from that . This is a redraw of his Blue Birds series minus the last picture (which was pretty too, but did not fit in my idea). I think there are no more blue birds in here, I yeeted the colour scheme out the window. But this was all I could think of, when I saw the series.
