I just had an idea. This kinda just stems from something that happens on the roleplay I'm in, but what if Jones could see the people that he lost over the years while he worked? Imagine if at the time of his attempt, outside of the encougement from the player, Chief King, Nathan, Rupert, Zoe, and Mia (they still likely had interacted with each other multiple times) while he was in the hospital were encouraging him to keep going.

This is rather short but to get something done and still have my writing abilities stay active ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amir swallowed nervously standing in the doorway of the lab before he stepped in reproaching Rupert with the materials he’d requested. The pair make no small talk but as Rupert adjusts his glasses and peered at Amir who was oddly silent when the lab was usually filled with the bickering between the two.
Rupert cleared his throat, sitting the test tube down on his desk. “Amir,” he stated his voice retaining it’s normal calm tone. “Is something the matter? You seem distracted and if you need to speak to clear you’re mind I am here if you need.” a tinge of concern flickered in his face.
Amir appeared taken aback by the sudden offer but the weight on his chest is lifted once Rupert says this. he took a moment before he began to speak. “Actually, I have had something on my mind for a while,” his voice trails off as Rupert waves Amir to come take a seat beside him.
“It’s important.” Amir added, his hands folded onto the table as they dart around avoiding making eye contact with him.
“Well, what is it?” Rupert questioned, he frowns slightly. “You’re taking a concerning amount of time to explain this, I’m quite… worried.”
“You know how I was joking about not having luck in dating and still being single?” It seemed to be an odd start but Amir was unsure how to word this but it’s successful in getting the point across and Rupert nodded in response.
“And you told me I should try to put myself out there because anyone would be lucky to get me? Well, I’ve never… really been that interested in it and I was debating a lot around it… and the conversation about not having had any girlfriends —- that I needed to get a girlfriend — or a boyfriend … which, was surprisingly open minded… it got me thinking.” Amir’s eyes finally look up meeting Ruperts.
“I’ve never really found any women attractive and I chalked it up to just not being into dating or not finding the right person… but I don’t like women, in a romantic sense.”
Rupert hummed in response, his lips tugged into a gentle smile. “I suppose it’s not a shock to me.” He said reaching over and he placed a comforting hand onto Amir’s hand. “I just didn’t want to assume in either which way.”
Amir’s lips part slightly and he takes in a deep breath. “And I’ve been getting… close with a friend of mine and I think I may like him.” He admitted, he shuts his eyes. “I think I may be gay.”
“Is that what’s been bothering you, Amir?” Rupert squeezed Amir’s arm before reaching up to his hand to give a slight squeeze and he pulled away clearing his throat. “I’m glad you were able to trust me with this.”
Rupert leans in closer. “And that doesn’t change anything between us. You are still a pain in my neck… but you’ve been there long enough I have gotten used to you.”
Amir let out a small chuckle despite the nervousness still beginning to settle.
“You aren’t in the same boat alone.” Rupert adds.

Info on them:
• Met at the park. Libby often goes to the park to feed the ducks at the lake. One of those days, she happened to come across Rupert, who seemed to be getting pecked at by some of the ducks. Libby was quick to the rescue and they immediately hit things off real well!
• Since then, they’ve both developed an interest in one another, and would often come to the park just to see and talk to one another once again! They bonded over a shared interest in forensics as well as old-fashioned tendencies.
• They both quickly developed little crushes on one another. Making the first move, Rupert went over-the-top by quite literally getting Libby one of every flower in the flower shop to prove how much he loved her. (He didn’t know what her favorite flower was and wanted to surprise her.)
• They met and got together in 2016, two years before the events of The Conspiracy.
• They often like to spend time together by sitting down for some tea and going on walks through the park.
• Libby is stuck in the “true love” mindset, she’s a hopeless romantic who’s always dreaming of happily ever after! The loss of her first husband really took a toll on her mental health, which explains her devotion to Rupert, finally being able to love again after such a loss.
• Rupert isn’t open about it like Libby is, but he feels similarly about her. She’s his first sweetheart he’s had in a long time.
The Conspiracy spoilers | AU
• After Rupert was found to be suffering from gas poising, he was put under Libby’s care, who took it upon herself to treat him as a devoted nurse.
• Libby’s aid in the attempted (in this AU) murder provided to be a great help to the GPD.
• Rupert had never told the other GPD members about Libby, nor did he hint to them that he was even in a relationship at all. The attempted murder was when the rest of the GPD learned of their relationship.
(Amir was surprised to learn that Rupert could still “get it” hah- sorry)

sorry it's been a while, the ideas are being created, so here is the new voting poll!

Criminal Case Paradise Fields AU: Ch. 5 Interests
Previous Chapter
(I had no clue what to write for this chapter so its a tad weird and shorter than the others.)
You, Rupert and a couple of the others were having a tea break, talking about each others interests, and what each other had been up to. It was a very long conversation as Rupert was very longwinded about the subjects he was talking about but it didnt matter as he seemed so happy and excited about what he was talking about. From what he studied in school to some of his favorite music from over the years when he was alive. You all decided to do a trade off trading each others interests. Couple of days later you all met again sharing what you thought of each others subjects. Rupert once again chatted the longest but once again you didnt mind as he was in the moment and being occupied with something else and is in the moment with the group.

Liberty is a seasoned nurse at the Grimsborough Hospital. She’s well known to be pure-hearted and rather ditzy, which particular occurs when she feels extreme bouts of excitement or exhaustion.
Libby also has a tendency to be a hard worker and a deep thinker. She’s very analytical and refuses to subject herself to uncertainty or doubt.
Shortly after having her youngest child (15/m), Liberty lost her husband to suicide. For a long time, Libby had struggled to come to terms with the fact. She had subjected herself to most of the blame and it had led to her dealing with her own bouts of depression and anxiety. While she was able to eventually clean herself up, Libby didn’t fully begin to turn her life back around until eventually finding love again.
Three years prior to the events of The Conspiracy, Libby had gotten together with GPD forensics expert, Rupert Winchester.
As a couple, their top priorities are one another. They refuse to acknowledge one another’s faults and focus solely on their positives. Both sharing professional knowledge on forensics as well as having old-fashioned tendencies, they quickly connected.
Sometime after the events of The Conspiracy, they’d decide to get married (With Libby hyphenating her deceased husband’s name with Rupert’s), which would eventually lead to them having a daughter of their own!
