“Hi, Cookie! So glad to get your card mon. Have been so busy lately my writing time now is limited to Wed. & Sun after-noons now. Your Grandfather is pretty old. Say, that card was really a dilly! Don’t tell me you’re the farmer’s daughter? You really get around, huh? Write again soon. As ever, Julian”

Old Man of the Mountains in Franconia, New Hampshire.
The Old Man of the Mountains was a famous natural rock formation located in Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire. It was a distinctive profile of a man’s face, created by a series of granite ledges and boulders. This iconic landmark was a symbol of New Hampshire and appeared on the state’s quarter and license plates.
Sadly, this great stone face collapsed in 2003, due to erosion and weathering. Despite its loss, it remains a significant part of New Hampshire’s history and identity, and efforts were made to commemorate it, including a memorial site and a viewing area at Franconia Notch State Park. #newhampshire #rppc #whitemountains #oldmanofthemountain #Franconia #vintagepostcards

Circa 1930 real photo postcard from a strapping young swimmer to his friend, reading:
Bill
One of the pleasures I have got from coming to this school is getting to know you, and I hope I'll see you in the future. That was a marvelous time we had on the top floor of Dunbar our first year seeing how much we could get away with under Ken Willis' eyes. I certainly hope your are first catcher for the baseball team this year. Lots of luck.
Jim.
