The Rain Road as Gaeilge

I am by no means a translator, but I do speak Irish fluently and have played trad for years (although I've lapsed due to college and work), so when the fireside chat mentioned having the Rain Road in Irish I had to throw my own spin on it. I may also record a version of it in Irish but we'll see. Shoutout to @franavu for also inspiring me with their Dutch translation!

Sally isn't really evil per se... she's just sleepwalking! while having mild to intense nightmares! most of the time she just sleeps in her house, but once per day she takes a walk - a "patrol" - around the neighborhood before going back to sleep. every so often she wakes up Extra agitated, and needs to be soothed to sleep or she'll get destructive. in general, though, Nightlight!Sally just patrols and attacks anything that makes noise until it goes Quiet again

and Barnaby! well! he's having the most wonderful dreams <3

Rough sketch gi designs for the fanseason! only Kai and Zane have them, since they’re the only two going to the first realm.

it’s made out of thicker material with more padding to make it harder to damage, has a lot of pockets and attached bags for storage, and it’s also solid colors (lighter shade of red for Kai and an off-white grey for Zane), just because they were made quickly, and since they’re only temporary for the first realm, they didn’t need any elaborate design.

So my family trained our dog very well to recognise anything flat and on the floor as "bed". It's super helpful for cases where, for example, we're at a friend's place and she's overexcited and we can just point to the entranceway mat and say "go in your bed". It becomes inconvenient when we put something on the ground for other reasons and she just... lies on it lol (I digress).

Anyway, I'm thinking of a whumpee who is used to sleeping on mats (maybe they grew up having to save money on that sort of thing or maybe they have had to flee their home and sleep in makeshift settings for a while) meeting a caretaker who has a penchant for making/buying the fluffiest rugs ever.

After an initial period of trying to understand each other, Caretaker realises that Whumpee knows they can sleep in the bed but they still feel safer on the rugs. And the rugs are fluffy enough that it's causing no harm. Whumpee is just so grateful for how fluffy the rugs are and they do know they can sleep on the bed but also Caretaker understands them.

To be clear, my dog is not neglected. She has far too many beds and also a couch that belongs to her specifically. She just chooses the tiniest rug or the rugless corner for no reason. Well the reason is that she's a lab and she overheats.

#I grew up with money so I am grateful to have never had to really sleep rough #but my hometown started experiencing constant natural disasters as of like 10 years back (thanks climate change...)#and being the smallest and least vocal member of my family #I was always relegated to be the floor sleeper whenever people had to stay over because trees fell on their house or something #whump #whump prompt #sleeping rough
