rise of the guardians thoughts
Because we needed more of those from me right lol
Anyway-
The timing of Jack being selected to be a Guardian is really interesting.
Because in movie canon, the other Guardians came together during the dark ages, right? And they needed to protect things that were being lost to children of that era due to fear and despair: wonder, hope, dreams, important memories.
But Jack. Jack becomes a Guardian in the modern era.
The implication is that modern kids are losing their grip on fun. There's fear and despair inflicted on the young generations of today, by school, mental illness, and the constant barrage of information and guilt on the Internet putting the weight to save the world on them while they're still powerless to do anything about it. Even when people try to aim that guilt exclusively at adults (which a lot of media doesn't!), kids tend to try to feel in control of bad things happening around them by assuming they're their own fault. If they can blame themselves for divorce and abuse, why not world disasters?
And when hope isn't enough anymore, when good memories are formed less and less, when the wonder and magic are stripped from a child's world, where do they have left to escape fear and despair?
Fun.
And I think that's why Jack was chosen when he was.
And it could be so easy to make that connection and let your hope for the world slip, but that's not the point of Rise of the Guardians.
The point is that actually, taking fear and despair too seriously, even when you're the one/ones fighting it- letting it consume your thoughts and time... doesn't do anyone any good.
Sometimes you need to fight it by being lighthearted in spite of the world.
I think that's why it's remained such a comfort movie for the generation it was made in. We see ourselves in these more or less helpless kids, struggling against a constant storm of fear and darkness, and this movie finds a way to pull that innocence and lightheartedness out of us again. It's comforting to feel like there's defenses and barriers against despair that will never truly go away, even just for a moment.

Tooth fairy
Its early October,you know what that means, its Halloween time
The time where the vail between the spiritual world and the living is the thinnest
You and tooth usually celebrate together,she does get more work during hallowing because of all the candy but she spends the most of her time with you
She helps you hang up the decorations and spread the Halloween feels
However you havnt done that yet,not only that but you dont have that much time left you only have a month
Once tooth realizes that somethings wrong she'll immidatly do ask the other guardians if they had seen you or if they had heard something from you,the results all come back the same,you were seemingly no where
She decided to check the globe,that could have a clue right?
That's when she noticed there were many less lights then usual,and that when it started to line up..
People were forgetting about you.
The last time you had spoke before going radio silent you had mentioned that it wasnt even October and people were advertising Christmas things
She had realised that you had probally hid yourself away becuase of this
When she does eventually find you shes understandable very worried for you.
After she gets a thorough explanation she'll waste no time in helping you with preparations
However first off,she has to get you in the Halloween mood,as your current one is rather sour,and we cant have that!
She cheers you up by bringing you around and showing you places that are getting ready for Halloween
She brings you to see a small shop that has cobwebs,spiders,skeletons,ghosts the whole lot,she smiles as she sees a small one form on your lips
She then brings you to stores as parents and kids are choosing out pumpkins,baskets,sweets and costumes
When a smile finally Grace's your lips she hugs you tightly and tugs with her to get more decorations up and around
She understands what it feels like to be forgotten and she dosnt want that to happen to you
Bunnymund/Easter bunny
Hes used to people neglecting his holidays for others
But hes surprised when there seems to be lesser lights on the globe
Things line up really quickly in his head as the cogs start working
He dosnt waste a second,immediately searching for you in fear you've disappeared
Once he finds you he tries to calm you down reassuring you that aslong as hes there he wont let you disappear
He even decorates Easter island with some Halloween decorations
He gives you Halloween styled eggs as a way to cheer you up
He will decorate pumpkins with you aswell
since halloween takes place in fall he might take you to forests where the leaves have turned orange and are starting to fall
he will help you decorate places and even though hes not the biggest sweet tooth,with a big oof bribery im sure he'll try a sweet oor two
he'll constantly be there and comforting you
easter isnt all ways widley celebrated so hes probally had a fear of fading aswell
he wont ever say it but due to the fact that your holidays is overlooked in favour for christmas,he holds a small grudge
he knows its not norths fault but hes just salty
Jack frost
Honestly hes kind of tone deaf
hes very happy go lucky and isnt used or very good at adapting to change
id like to think that he was quite close to you even before becoming a guardian,because halloween is in the colder months of the year
it might take another guardian to point out your abscents or off behaviour
however just because hes abit tone deaf dosnt mean hes not smart
once its been pointed out to him hes going on a man hunt for you
altough he wasnt in an entirely similar situation,he still knows what its like to feel isolated,scared and alone,and as his S/o he dosnt want yuo feeling the same
once locating you the first thing he'll do is make sure your not fading away
if you are then he will moost likely panic
he will eventually calm himself down,realising that panicing wont help it at all
his first priorety is to make sure that your ok
mentally and physically
afterwards he takes you to do things to take it off your mind
some of his favorite things to do are skating and carving pumpkins,if your not good at either he'll help you
he loves decorating everywhere with fun decorations
his favorite halloween decore are those door bells that grab youor finger or smth(i hate those things with a passion,so i can imagine him loving them)

he has to keep a keen eye on the months and probally realise that its your holliday
his first reaction is to celebrate your holiday with you,he feels alot like a father figure to you and as such he feels he needs to celebrate your holiday with you
though the smile on his face dosnt stay long as he finds that many stores,instead of having halloween decoration.have christmas things

at first he thinks it might just be the store,and so he checks others
thats until he becomes aware that its most stores
why are they all decroated with christmas decore,they should be deced out with sceletons and pumpkins

after coming to this realisation he checks the globe before visiting you#
he gets quite anxxious once checking the globe
hes quick to find and omfort you,hes quite furious people are neglecting your holiday for his.christmas is still months away!
after calming you down he will go ALL OUT on halloween decorations,the north pole dosnt even look like what it once was,white robes with dark circles are hanging around the celeing,skeletons have been placed everywhere in different positions,fake spiders and fake spider webs have been thrown enywhere they can.
all the elves and yeti's take a day off,to decorate pumpkins.
he'll probaly also reach out to the other guardians,inviting them all over so you can all celebrate together.<3
sandy/sandman
sandy is very intune with the going oon in the world,aswell as being extremly intuitive
hes probally seen this coming though he didnt think itd be to such an extent where it'd cause you distress
after feeling a particullary cold gust of autaum wind its clear something is wrong
after checking the globe it seems that his hypthesis had become reality
he wasnt very surprised since he had a nagging feeling it'd happen,apart of him thinks that he might have just been denieing that you had the possibility to fade,that he was in denial
either way he had to push his own thoughts away as he had more importtant things to do,such as comforting you and restoring your holiday to its former glory,or at least try to.
after locating you hes quick to alert you of his precents though he may not be the best at calming you down since,he cant really speak.
hes most likely to put you to sleep and give you good dreams whilst brainstorming ideas to help your current dilema
once your awake and calm,he'll try his best to relay his ideas and help you
cutting pumpkins is a must
he will try his best to make candy with you
if you ever need some comfort just say the word and hes hugging you and trying his best to comfort you
he makes sure you have good dreams for days
he promises that he'll try his best to help you
he'll be dammed if he ever didnt go through with that promise to you.
the other guardians will most likely notice both of your distress and end up helpping,either that or sandy asks them directly.

Hello! I live your Bunnymund works amd my request is basicaly the second part of one of them if i'm honest. May i request headcanons of how is it to be the spirit of kindness and being in a relationship with Bunnymund, pls? Like, is he attentive? Does he have a habit that could be changed for the better of the relationship? There's any habit he's not dispous to tolerate frome his partner? How does he show affection? PDA or No PDA? Fluffy boy loves hugs (in private obviously), he's into light pda when in public, example: holding hands, putting his arm around your waist or shoulders.
Like I said in previous headcanons, egg painting dates are regular, no if's or but's, he loves having someone to talk to and help him prepare the lil ones for next Easter.
A habit he's not accepting from his partner is that they're mean to his friends, he has spent A LONG WHILE with them, so he's not accepting you hurting any of his friends feelings.
I headcanon that he uses lil glasses for reading or when he has a difficult time doing decorations on eggs.
Also he loves taking care of his partner, if their having a bad day, a headache,etc, he's always there to make sure you feel love.
Star gazing ! Star gazing ! You both lay outside the warren and spend almost all night talking to each other.
He's up to helping you with whatever duty you have.
He shows affection through words, most especially nicknames, example: sweetheart, darling, doll/dolly,etc.
He loves your kindness and lives for it, you make his heart go Doki Doki 💗☺️
You have scary dog privilege, whenever someone is talking to you, depending on who it is, he will stay behind you/by your side.
One time jack wanted to flirt with you just to piss bunny off, but he was already behind you giving jack one of his most scary glares.
He protects you at all cost, he knows you can fight for yourself but he's still obviously worried about your safety.
He'll make breakfast for you, (he loves cooking, argue with the wall)

Before going to bed he likes either reading or humming a song to you.
He's the type of getting you behind his back whenever he feels a threat in a situation.

my bestie suggested more Christmas Crossover AU and i couldn’t say no to that 😂 the differing elf lore is funny to me so i had to address it somehow. i think that after dealing with North, the elves would flock to someone who takes them (semi) seriously. and Bernard just hits that balance of grumpy efficiency 👌

The Brightest Star (North x F!Reader)
Every year since I have this blog I have written at least one fanfic for North when Christmas is close, I couldn't let this one be the exception, so I hope you like it.

You sighed as you tried to control your shaking hands, you really didn't want to ruin another machine, but nothing seemed to work. You couldn't help it, not when he was so close, even if you couldn't see him, you could feel it in your bones, that terrible, ancient fear that stabbed into your skin like a million needles, seeming to inject those horrible shadows into your being.
You shuddered when the memory of that terrible day suddenly came to your mind. You had blocked out most of the details, but you remembered perfectly the feeling of a deathly cold hand wrapping around your throat, stealing all the air from your body, the darkness slowly filling your senses and the screams of children echoing in your ears.
Pitch Black had escaped, but you could still feel his grip on you.
"Are you ok?"
You jumped when you felt a large but warm hand on your shoulder and thanked everything in your mind that you hadn't screamed when you saw blue eyes filled with concern staring at you.
“Yeah, I’m fine” you lied.
The man didn't seem to believe you, but he was kind enough not to push, so he just gave you a gentle squeeze and took a seat next to you. Internally you were grateful that he was so easy to work with, because you were sure that your teacher would already be questioning you.
You silently passed him the toolbox and returned to your own project, allowing muscle memory to take the reins and letting your memory wander back to that day, though not to Pitch's terrible memories, but to the bright light that you had next to you.
Nicholas St. North, retired bandit, loud but kind man, Santoff Claussen's savior. Again, you didn't remember the details, but you did remember the way the blanket of darkness around you was suddenly broken with the clean cut of a sword, and the cold that seeped into your bones slowly melted with the warmth of a pair of big arms. You felt safe even without knowing who the man holding you was.
North had saved you, he had saved your home, your children, magic, and because of that he had not only earned a place as Ombric's apprentice, but, without knowing it (and you wouldn't admit it), he had earned a permanent place in your heart.
He was a brilliant man, with surprising ingenuity, his inventions surpassed anything that had been created before in the town, and a heart of gold. Ombric had given him a place in his house, and since you were also technically his apprentice, it was a matter of time before you struck up a friendship with the former bandit, to the point that your teacher joked that you couldn't live without him anymore.
Not that you cared, you liked North more than you were willing to admit, and the man in the moon knew that man needed a family, a home to belong to, and you hoped, deep down, that somehow you could be part of it.
You just wished he could see how special he was, that he could see himself the way you and Katerine saw him. Despite his carefree attitude and the confidence he projected in front of others, especially in front of children or Ombric, you knew that guilt and memories of his past life still haunted him, that he often questioned whether he really deserved a place as a guardian.
"Do you think I'm worthy?" he asked
"You are" you smiled, reassuring him "you're a really bright star"

You smiled as you watched the elves running around, getting between the tables and getting in the Yetis’ way, who were already too used to it to really bother with them. You loved this time of year, the bright lights, the decorated trees, the colors, the warmth of the fireplaces, the cookies, the gifts, and in the middle of it all, him.
In the end, Ombric had been right, you couldn't stay away from North, so when he formed his alliance with the Yetis, moved to the North Pole and built his magnificent city where his inventions brought joy to everyone, you had naturally been at his side.
It had been a long time since you had finally admitted your feelings for the man, and with Manny's blessing (who had made you age as slowly as North did), you had sworn to share his mission of protecting wonder in children for whatever centuries you had left.
"Mrs. Claus" a cheerful voice sounded behind you.
You smiled as you turned to him. In front of you was Santa Claus himself, as imposing as the legends said, with the years reflected in his face, which still retained its childish warmth and as handsome as the day you met him.
"Mr. Claus" you replied "ready for your big night?"
Christmas Eve was always a busy and difficult night for North, but you knew that, like you, he would never change the children's joy at seeing that Santa had visited them for anything.
He simply smiled and offered his hand to you, escorting you down the hallway as you headed to the reindeer shed. You never accompanied him on deliveries, preferring to wait for him with a cup of hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies, but you were always there to watch him leave. He had said you gave him luck, and you never questioned it.
"Tell me, darling" he whispered "do you still think I'm worthy?"
Oh, so it was one of those nights. Despite everything he had experienced, despite how much he had done for children and for the world, there were still echoes of his ghosts walking through his mind. It wasn't as frequent anymore, maybe once every few years, but sometimes, he still needed you to remind him how special he was.
"North" you said softly "look around you. Look at everything you've created, the wonderful ideas you've made come true, look how much this place has grown"
Carefully, you let go of his arm so you could take his hands instead, making him look at you with an intensity and fragility reserved for you.
"But most of all, look at what you have become, everything you represent" you said "You are not only the guardian of wonder, you are more. Christmas is not only about gifts and beautiful lights, it is the memories that are created, the love that is strengthened, the joy that is shared, the illusion that is reborn even in adults. You represent all that. Even when the magic seems lost, people find it again in your figure, in your celebration"
North smiled and closed his eyes, savoring the feel of your palm as you caressed his cheek gently.
"You are the most important guardian, protector of magic" you continued "and you are the brightest star of Manny's new golden age."

Jack Frost Headcanons 4
Gosh I love this movie guys-
Jack and other spirits who died before being chosen have partial or full immunity to whatever killed them, i.e. Jack can breathe underwater, someone who got attacked has skin that's more resilient to whatever weapon dealt the killing blow, etc.
Jack doesn't hate shoes, he just thought the ones the elves tried to slap on him looked ridiculous.
Jack is the strongest seasonal spirit.
North eventually legally (by spirit law, anyway, whatever that is) adopts Jack.
Jack dislikes suit coats but is okay with formal vests.

Technically his full name is Nicholas North, but in the movie they only ever call him "North" so... I just went for that as his first name.
North Frost has a trapper hat and a traditional Kosovorotka Russian shirt. Decked out with iceswords.
North Redbird... uninspired name, but... he's based off a cardinal. His wings aren't transparent and glassy because his size is so massive. His wings are large and feathered that act like a cape. His swords are made of steal, silver, and real gold.
North Hare. A mix of a dutch and english spot rabbit. His swords are made from carved wood. North Sand.
