Right... So apparently, I've earned a new present after taking down the Cyclopes Beast I named Bob — A New Pawn From The Riftstone..

The Riftstone has now coughed up a Pawn of my very own design and choosing - someone who can fight alongside me, and hopefully balance my Wizard's Magic with brute force. With nice hair. 

...Then a Ser Berne turns up out of nowhere, with the offer of "Training" us to "fight as one"... And, maybe, that would have been great if he hadn't then put us into a showdown that was a bit of a nightmare to say the least - and a timer only he could see and knew how long it was...! 

Yeh. Thanks for that, mate.... 

 L'eiito, Rook and I managed it in the end, though. Those two really are two good fighters.

ok i havent had any breakfast yet so im gonna pause for breakfast but i will say uh, im at level 4 and done the start area side quests so im really early but first impressions,

for anyone coming from dragons dogma 1 it has . the vibe yknow what i mean. the vibe is there. the goblins are stupid. gathering is the same. the pawns dont fucking shut up. merchants loop audio. everyone talks just like ur used to its full old english . the world just... like ur dropped into a location thats gonna feel identical to how the game starts in dd1 and its. its good. i feel nostalgic as hell. rook was here

i'm so happy about the hype dd2 is getting and it's so funny to see bc until very recently dragon's dogma was such a niche and unhinged game. unfinished. busted. memetic quotes up the wazoo. wolves hunt in packs. leveling system more convoluted than oblivion with the stat increments and vocations. the game underwent so many changes and had so much cut off that you need to squint hard to see the plot. (it's beautiful and a tragic undercurrent to the whole game) the pawns. everything about them. rook. feste. walking up to the griggles fight to realize the game dropped a random npc onto your ass as your beloved. or better yet, fournival. the whole beloved system lmfao. the way the game encourages you to break it. the absolute love and care that was put into the game. they're masterworks all you can't go wrong. it's going to be hilarious to see the way people who didn't play the first play this one.

I'm playing Dragon's Dogma rn cause the sequel is coming out and I always meant to, and... Pawns are immediately a much bigger deal than expected. These fuckers are canon. They're things that look like a person, but will starve if you don't tell them to eat because they lack the "spark" or "will" that makes people people. And like... I know people that'll starve if you don't tell them to eat. Are we sure that's the line? Rook is a mouthy kleptomaniac that clearly has Opinions about my ability to stay on task, how is that not a person? They have names! They wave hello before we speak! How is it that not a person?

It's a kinda wack starting point is the -uh... point. Having fun though

Help! I’ve been playing Dragons Dogma and can’t stop thinking about a pokemon AU!

-X legendary pokemon steals away a person’s heart and sets them on the path of slaying (capturing?) said legend and reclaiming what was lost.

-Team up with partner pokemon (starting with a Pawniard named Rook?) and gain access to the Pokemon Legion who will aid you in the battles to come! One of them in particular will become a permanent fixture in your team.

-Wild pokemon and trainers will stand in your way. Warring forces constantly battling against this region’s champion, a Legend Slayer in his own right, and the trainers (soldiers) who swear loyalty to his kingdom.

Dragon's Dogma 2 first impressions!

So far? Pretty decent! The graphics are pretty good, more detail than the last one. The first pawn from the last game, Rook, has made a return so that was cool XD! Poor guy looks like he's been through the ringer though lmaoo. Things seem just a little hand-holdy for what the game wants you to do which i'm hoping levels out after a while. Like it has a direction and it's doing it's best to have you follow it through the npc's.

The combat seems a little clunky to me. not as responsive as the first game and they did change a few things up with how the button layout and overall feel of it works. Not an initial fan but i'll get used to it and figure it out. The also split up the ranger into the Archer and Thief vocations. Not a big fan of that tbh because if you like archery like i do, now you don't have a close range weapon to defend yourself. Besides the initial four vocations, i haven't come across any others yet. The first game had hybrid Vocations and i'm hoping that's still here.

On another note, I MESSED UP WITH MY PAWN!!! Not too terribly but she sounds like a too-peppy know-it-all that honestly makes me giggle a bit XD. I might rework her later but for now, i'll deal! Raza looks amazing! I can probably get a few icons of her with the 2.3 hours i have but i'm hoping for at least one more cutscene before i do.

The pawns have also been talking about ladders but i couldn't actually find them.... I may just be blind though so that may require more testing before i call it a bug.
