Obey me characters as type of goths!
Tumblr media
Authors Note: This is my first time writing so sorry if its really repetitive and these are just some of my personal headcanons and little mini imagines. I myself am also relatively new to the goth scene these might now be 100% accurate.
I hope you enjoy!
Lucifer:
I could really just choose one but I think that Lucifer would really like romantic, vampire, and victorian goth
Just look at him
He already has the whole vibe
Out of all of them I think he would like romantic goth the most since he's an old romantic at heart
definitely uses to name caramia as a term of endearment to you <3
Likes to wear more formal attire such as suits and lots of jewelry preferably chunky rings
Listens to Lebanon Hanover
Imagine spending a night with him listening to his records, sipping on nice red wine and him speaking sweet nothings to you
Mammon:
This one was actually really hard but I think Mammon would be into gothabilly
He gives me the vibe that he likes any type of 50s style clothing (think greaser style)
Listens to Elvis Presley
Definitely into things like vintage cars and decor
LOTS OF LEATHER JACKETS
Collects vintage horror movies
He doesn't watch them (mainly because he thinks their scary) just collects them because he thinks they look cool
Has at least one pin up girl tattoo
Loves going to old diners with you and taking you to old car shows
Definitely uses old slang
Calls you sugar or babe
Dances rockabilly like it's no one business
please look up real 1950s rockabilly dancing it looks like so much fun
Imagine him driving in his Demonio with you listening to rock 'n' roll and going to a club and dancing all night long just laughing with each other and just forgetting everything else :)
Leviathan:
I personally think he would be very into visual kei
He dresses a little more on the colorful side
Tries to incorporate some of his favorite animes into his fashion
Also gets a lot of his inspiration from them
Makes him feel more confident and it's kinda cosplay to him so he really likes it if you dress up with him
Learned to play guitar and bass because he wanted to play his favorite solos
Loves to do your makeup (only if you ask him bc he's too shy to ask you)
He still gets kinda shy if you compliment him but he really appreciates it
Especially since his outfits take a while to get on
HE LISTENS TO MALICE MIZER I DON'T MAKE THE RULES
Imagine getting ready with him to go to a concert and just seeing how excited he is to see his favorite artist and just having an overall great time with him
Satan:
To me this one is simple
He is a 100% New England Gothic type of person
He loves learning about the history such as the Salem Witch trials
His favorite authors are H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King
His favorite book is Misery by Stephen King
Listens to The Shortwave Mystery
Fashion wise his style is more dark academia
Loves going to places that are haunted or hold cursed items
Frequent visitor of the Ed and Lorraine Warren museum
Also an old romantic
Writes love letters to you and closes them with a wax seal that has his sigil on it so you know it's him
Gives you flowers with special meanings
Calls you my heart or my joy since your the person who always makes him the happiest
Imagine him sending you a letter telling you to meet him in the library and he takes you on a date treating you like royalty and reading poetry he made specifically for you
Asmodeus:
Asmodeus would LOVE pastel goth
To him it's a perfect mix of dark edgy colors and bright bubbly colors
Loves accessories, mainly chokers and hair clips
Has A BUNCH of outfit choices for you if you want to try his style too
If you ask him to do your makeup say no more he's already sprinting to his room to get his makeup kit
Can and will dye your the brightest pastel colors if you ask him
His outfits are always perfectly coordinated
Pulls off black lipstick surprisingly well
Has graphic shirts and decorated socks for DAYS
Listens to Melenie Martinez
Calls you sweetie or love
Imagine him taking you out to Majolish, helping you buy pastel goth clothes since you've been wanting to try it out, he gives you the best tips about what accessories go best and him giving you endless praise saying how cute you look
Beelzebub:
Beel would definitely like health goth
He dresses more casually than his brothers since health goth is more wearing black and white sports brands
Really likes the music though
He listens to Molchat Doma during his workouts
I think he really likes tattoos but either is busy to get them or Lucifer doesn't let him
He works hard to keep both his physical and mental health in top shape so if you need a shoulder to lean on (both metaphorically and literally) or want a gym bro he's your guy
Calls you peach or honey
Knows a lot of comfortable goth brands if you want to buy some active wear
Imagine you come home from a long day at RAD and just being generally exhausted, you go to your room and soon Beel comes since he felt like you weren't feeling the best, he comes with your favorite snacks and you spend the rest of the night together enjoying each others presence
Belphegor:
I personally think that Belphie would be a trad goth but he barely has the time and energy for all that so I he would be an emo goth
I know what your gonna say BUT EMO AND GOTH ARE DIFFERENT I know that but I feel like he would find a way to combine them (also he thinks it's funny how it manages to get people angry)
Asmo takes his picture sometimes and adds a horrendous amount of blingees
Cuts his own hair
Owns so many band tshirts that his closet looks like a hot topic
I think he listens to Black Veil Brides or Twin Tribes
Acts like a stereotypical emo for shits and giggles
Always ends up forgetting to take off his eyeliner
Probably has a blog dedicated to astrology (Asmo got a hold of it and decorated it so much its like looking into the sun)
Probably has a few piercings
I think has has an eyebrow piercing and snake bites
Loves watching Tim Burton movies
Calls you my one and only or baby
Imagine waking from a nap to have a message from Belphie saying "Meet me in the planetarium", you go and he's there with a blanket and you two spend the rest of the night either stargazing, talking about astrology, or him reading to you some overly edgy poem talking about "your the light that reaches even the darkest parts of my soul" and "Will you be the Pon to my Zi?" (please tell me if you understand that reference)
It sounds super sappy but you know deep down he means it

The Quentin Tarantino Connection
When he was a teenager in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Quentin Tarantino was by his own admission way into ‘50s rockabilly music. “I was like the second coming of Elvis Presley. I dyed my hair black. I wore it in a big ole pompadour”, he said in an interview. In his recent book Cinema Speculation, he writes about discussing cinema with his mom’s black friend Floyd, who was into blaxploitation. He loved hearing Floyd’s first-hand accounts of being a black Elvis fan back in the 1950s, also rebuking claims that the King of Rock ‘n Roll was racist. He even included “Elvis impersonator” in his early résumé and it must have paid out because he was cast as one in an episode of the sit-com The Golden Girls in 1988. Incidentally, Tarantino was born in Elvis’ home state of Tennessee, where his mother is from, and as a kid was even left there for a year, describing his family as “hillbilly alcoholics”.
Tumblr media
Elvis often comes up in his movies. For example in a deleted scene of his now classic film Pulp Fiction (1994), Mia Wallace uses a hand-held video camera to interview Vincent Vega with either/or questions. She explains the game as follows: “There are only two kinds of people in the world, Beatles people and Elvis people”. Mia has no doubts about Vincent’s allegiance. With his swagger, callback to “Grease” and dance moves, John Travolta is an Elvis man through and through.
Tumblr media
Of course, Mia and Vincent later go a to ‘50s themed diner called Jack Rabbit Slim’s, where they have the famous twist contest dancing to Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell”. The waiters are all dressed like dead stars from the 1950s, such as Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and Buddy Holly. Even though, as Vincent would put it, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll must have had the night off, in Mia’s words “an Elvis man should love it”. Tarantino said that the design for the diner, where the guests sit in booths made like ‘50s vintage cars and the dance floor looks like a tachometer, was partially inspired by the nightclub with race car motifs in one of Elvis’ movies, Speedway (1968).
Tumblr media
Tarantino references Elvis here and there in his work. In the novelization of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that he wrote, for example, Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie) is described by his agent Marvin (Al Pacino) as having spent all his career “running pocket combs through his pompadour”, which by 1969 not even Elvis has anymore.
His biggest Elvis homage came very early on in his career, though. As a matter of fact, to finance what would become his first movie, Reservoir Dogs (1992), Tarantino auctioned a script that he had written, True Romance. It was made into a movie by Tony Scott and it ultimately came out in 1993. True Romance begins with a casual conversation about pop culture in the style of Mr. Brown with his infamous “Like a Virgin” theory in Reservoir Dogs. Clarence (Christian Slater) is at a bar, chatting up a girl. Like Tarantino, Clarence prefers ‘50s Elvis and praises Jailhouse Rock (the movie not the song) where Elvis was everything that rockabilly was about: “Mean, surly, nasty, rude”. And then, obviously interested in picking up the girl, he continues: “Elvis looked good. I mean, I ain’t no fag, but Elvis was prettier than most women, you know. Most women. You know, I always said if I had to fuck a guy – you know, I mean, had to – if my life depended on it, I’d fuck Elvis”. Tarantino establishes the rules for his story right away: just like you have fantasies where you wish you were Elvis or as cool as Elvis, or you wish you could fuck him, this movie is a whole fantasy where you wish you were a hero who had a crazy adventure and passionate love story involving pimps, drugs and guns.
Tumblr media
Clarence, an alter ego for the author, falls madly in love with Alabama (Patricia Arquette), a call girl. Clarence loves martial arts movies, comic books, hamburgers and Elvis, just like the film director. He also wears Elvis glasses and drives a purple Cadillac. Throughout the movie, Elvis pops up several times, in magazines, on T-shirts and on furniture or posters. The most striking appearance is obviously when Clarence sees Elvis (Val Kilmer) in the bathroom mirror, dressed in his gold lamé suit but anachronistically sporting his ‘70s big glasses. Elvis tells Clarence that he has to kill Alabama’s pimp, and there the adventure begins.
Tumblr media
In Cinema Speculation, which sits halfway between film criticism and memoir, Tarantino goes back to Elvis several times. He writes that Elvis could have been the biggest movie star of the 1960s, if it weren’t for Colonel Parker’s greediness and for the weight of his own enormous success in the music business. He even mentions excitedly that Elvis was considered for the role of Sundance in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) opposite Warren Beatty, before the roles went to Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
Tarantino has always took a liking for B movies, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that he’s not dismissive of Elvis movies as a whole and writes about a few of them in detail. He considers Flaming Star (1960), for instance, to be “a truly great fifties Western, and maybe the most brutally violent American western of its era.” According to him, the film director, Don Siegel, who would go on to direct Dirty Harry (1971), was a master when it came to film fistfights and chase sequences. This was because of his background in editing and his penchant for violence. Tarantino also praises Don Siegel’s unexpected use of shocking bouts of violence, of which there are several in Flaming Star. His protagonists, including Elvis’ Pacer, were often at odds with the society they lived in, which reflected the way Siegel felt around film executives and producers. “Pod people” is how he called them, in reference to his movie The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and in this category he included Elvis’ nefarious manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
Tumblr media
Tarantino recognizes that Elvis movies weren’t real movies but “ElvIs movies”, but he’s a fan of Roustabout (1964) nevertheless. He describes it as: “a pretty entertaining little picture chock-full of cool elements, Elvis entering the movie on a motorcycle—dressed head to toe in black leather […], a strong Big Valley era Barbara Stanwyck as his colead, a one-line bit at the beginning by Raquel Welch, the best soundtrack of any of Elvis’ color films, including a rarity for the King on film—Elvis singing a cover of somebody else’s hit, the Coasters’ Little Egypt, and the only film where Elvis gets to demonstrate his Ed Parker-taught karate moves.” Because of course Tarantino loves martial arts movies, just like Elvis did. And blaxploitation, hamburgers, comic books and being over the top. They would have been great friends.
Read here my previous posts on Elvis connections. So far I’ve written about Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol/Bob Dylan, the Clash and Jim Morrison.

GJ and ZZH Updates — September 03-09
previous week || all posts || following week
This is part of a weekly series collecting updates from and relating to Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan.
This post is not wholly comprehensive and is intended as an overview, links provided lead to further details. Dates are in accordance with China Standard Time, the organization is chronological. My own biases on some things are reflected here. Anything I include that is not concretely known is indicated as such, and you’re welcome to do your own research and draw your own conclusions as you see fit. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or additions. :)
[Glossary of names and terms] [Masterlist of my posts about the situation with Zhang Zhehan]
09-03 → 361° posted five photos from a fansite of Gong Jun at an airport, highlighting their clothes.
09-04 → The watch brand Tissot posted a video teasing their endorsement with Gong Jun that would be announced two days later. Caption: "Neon lights in the dark night, super players enter the venue and wait for the excitement, wait and see[.] The new Tissot global brand spokesperson will be announced soon! He is a young actor with unlimited possibilities, an occasional soul singer, and a constant happy player. Who is he? See you on September 6th!"
→ The Instagram posted ten photos of "Zhang Zhehan" at a glacier.
→ A teaser for yet another song (this one with very uncharacteristically sexual lyrics) was posted by Ranyi.
09-05 → The Instagram posted nine photos of "Zhang Zhehan" doing a rockabilly-style photoshoot. #ZhangZhehan trended on Twitter.
→ The lyricist for the Zhang Sanjian song made a tweet promoting it. He used the #TheRealZhangZhehan hashtag, indicating that he was likely fed what to tweet considering people outside the fandom wouldn't know to use that. His social media history indicates that he previously had some decent success, but hit a rough patch last year that he's currently trying to recover from.
09-06 → 361° posted a photo ad of Gong Jun in collaboration with the Asian Games.
→ Gong Jun posted a commercial he did for Tissot, announcing his new endorsement with them. (1129 kadian) Caption: "With love, always have fun[.] I am very happy to become the global brand ambassador of Tissot[.] Put on #Tissot super player series with me# Right now, you and I are super player" This was reposted by Tissot. Fan Observation: Some Dilireba fans apparently think that the 88888888 written with his signature in the commercial is a reference to her. If any of those fans are reading this, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but 8 is just his favourite number.
→ Tissot posted the same commercial. (1129 kadian) Caption: "Super players, you've been waiting a long time[.] Welcome actor @ Gong Jun Simon in becoming the global brand ambassador of Tissot! Every moment, explore endless possibilities[,] have fun and unlock more excitement. Super player attitude, defined by you"
→ The limited edition watch released for the endorsement announcement sold out in five minutes, and the other endorsed models sold out at all physical stores in Chengdu. CPFs were enough of a majority in the sales to receive a shoutout online from one of the sales associates, and there was some drama on Weibo of solos trying to report down CPFs' posts about their purchases.
→ #GongJun trended on Twitter.
→ Gong Jun posted three photos of himself from his shoot with Tissot to his Instagram. Caption: "Cool!" (originally in English)
Tumblr media
→ Gong Jun Outdoor Office posted two doodles Gong Jun did for the Tissot announcement. Caption: "Ah! Art! (The art has two wheels and the single door!)"
→ Tissot posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun. Several more were also released on their website and Taobao. Fan Observations: - Tissot mentioned Word of Honor in the blurb about Gong Jun on their website! [screenshot] - Several of the photo ads includes Gong Jun sitting at a diner booth with "5" in neon. Combining this with the neon "November 29" used elsewhere in the ad campaign makes an easy 51129 kadian.
→ The Instagram posted ten photos of "Zhang Zhehan" in a forest.
→ Hogan tweeted a photo ad of Gong Jun.
09-07 → Zhenguoli posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.
→ Tissot posted a video (flashing lights cw) of behind the scenes footage from their photoshoot with Gong Jun. (1129 kadian)
→ Gong Jun's studio posted a video of behind the scenes footage from the Tissot commercial. Caption: "Explore the secrets of time and seal the eternal hour. Let's keep the beauty in the minutes with @ Gong Jun Simon~" BGM is Tama by Else.
→ Hogan tweeted a commercial and two photo ads of Gong Jun.
→ The Instagram posted ten photos of "Zhang Zhehan" and scenery.
→ Gong Jun attended another Jay Chou concert (purely as an audience member this time.)
09-08 → MYFM, a Malaysian radio station, announced that they had invited Zhang Zhehan to a music festival they are organizing around the topic of AI. (Ironic.) At the time of this post nothing has been said about "him" (read: the scam gang) agreeing to attend. [article] The radio station is the same one that put one of the Zhang Sanjian songs as #1 on their charts when it hadn't been released yet back in January.
→ #ZhangZhehan trended on Twitter.
→ Zhenguoli posted five photo ads of Gong Jun. They later posted another.
→ BEAST posted a commercial with a voice over done by Gong Jun. (1129 kadian)
→ Tissot posted four photos from their shoot with Gong Jun. (1129 kadian)
→ The Instagram posted more of the same.
→ Hogan tweeted two photo ads of Gong Jun.
09-09 → Tissot posted one of their photo ads of Gong Jun to their Instagram.
→ Gong Jun's studio posted a vlog of him at the Jay Chou concert. Caption: "Excited heart, trembling hands! The immersive concert experience is here~ @ Gong Jun Simon (no delay version) is a fan who works hard to sing along"
→ Zhenguoli posted a photo ad featuring Gong Jun.
→ 361° released a commercial for the Asian Games featuring Gong Jun.
→ The Instagram posted five photos of "Zhang Zhehan" in a field.
→ Hogan tweeted two photo ads of Gong Jun.

I saw a post that said you had a gumshoe playlist on Spotify. Could you share it?
I'd say it's got American Diner vibes
The playlist was informed by the fact that in case 1-2, you meet gumshoe, he asks you if you know his name and one of the options is "detective suedeshoes" to which he responds: "thats right, pal. Don't step on my blue suede shoes." So the list has a bit of rockabilly and soul with some other genres sprinkled in

If you could have a date with your f/o how would it be? :3
Oh man! uhmm.. uuuhh...
Tumblr media
I've always wanted to go on a date with Josuke where we wear matching rockabilly-style outfits, and we go to to the arcade, or drive-in movies. We'd end the night sharing a milkshake at a cute little diner or something.
It'd be a lot of blushing, and holding hands, and stolen kisses. > w<

'Gone Ridin'' by Chris Isaak, from his debut album SILVERTONE, 1985...
youtube
I like Isaak's stuff when he really leans into the '50s-style rockabilly, which matches up perfectly with the bike riding theme. I can picture it: Being out on the road, on a Harley, middle of the night, only my headlight illuminating everything around me...
... probably somewhere in the wilderness... A desert, perhaps? In a sea of complete darkness...
Almost a lot like... This level... From CRASH BANDICOOT: WARPED:
youtube
Honestly, the Chris Isaak song I think syncs up perfectly with this level, and the other motorcycle levels really. Being a time travel game, CRASH 3 brilliantly made the biker levels these '50s Midwest highways, with diners and retro gas stations and such. All the cars are designed to look like they're from that period, too, which is neat. Both the police cars and the hot rods, the latter of which were prominent at the time. So prominent, that there was a whole subgenre of rock n' roll dedicated to these vehicles and the fellas using them to race, outrun the cops, etc.
In fact, I think of a few other songs that could match up well with one of these levels, like 'Hot Rod Lincoln' (particularly the uptempo cover by Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, from 1971):
youtube
Robert Mitchum's 'The Ballad of Thunder Road', 1958:
youtube
Jimmy Dolan's 'Hot Rod Race', 1950:
youtube
And plenty more, just a few examples off the top of my head.

Anthony's Stupid Daily Blog (706): Wed 21st Feb 2024
Watched a documentary about American diners which I’ve always had an affinity for. I normally hate  sitting in restaurants when there’s music blaring but the kind of music typically piping over the speaker systems in diners is rockabilly and rock n roll which I am a fan of so I wouldn’t be complaining about the music spoiling my vibe. Also I don’t think diners normally sell beer so I wouldn’t have to worry about drunk cunts making loads of noise and putting me off my veggie burger and blueberry pancakes. I can see why the specific kind of diner with the light coloured booths, the jukebox and the black and white checkered floors more or less died out because they were closely associated with the rock / rockabilly era. When that kind of music fell out of fashion the diners would have also felt outdated and I don’t think that trying to keep up with the times by starting to play newer music like disco or metal would have fit the decor. If I was a billionaire I would set up my own American style diner and spend all my time in my own booth reading and listening to my favourite rockin’ tunes. I’d let my friends and family come in obviously but I would also hire a few MMA fighters to work the door and if I saw anyone I thought was going to spoil the atmosphere I’d shake my head and have Knuckles and Scarface chuck them in a dumpster out back with the rest of the scum.
Read more of The Stranger Diaries. The first part of from the perspective of Clare the teacher who was a friend of the murdered woman. Part two now focuses on Detective Leah who is investigating the murder and Part Three is told from the point of view of Georgie, one of the murdered teachers students who’s boyfriend reveals he went to see her on the night she died. I’m happy to report that I’m enjoying this a lot and I’m glad that there is going to be at least one more book added to the “must read” section of the Edgar challenge before it’s over. I hope the remaining three books are as engaging.
I set off in a taxi to the town for my train to Newcastle for a chiro appointment. The driver I got was a big conspiracy theory fan and told me all about how the vaccine was responsible for the rise in autism while I smiled politely and tried to resist the urge to put my headphones in and start blasting some Slayer to try and drown out the bollocks. What makes me laugh most about conspiracy theorists is whenever they’re relating information they’ve been given by another believer in the theory they subscribe to they always punctuate it with “this guys backing up everything he’s saying with facts”. I always think “how do you know that these things your sources are saying are facts? Have you looked into it yourself to see if it’s actually factual? More importantly have you checked more than one source to check if it’s a fact?”. Anywho I thanked him as I got out and when I was about to go catch my train I turned around to give him a wave he had gone. Some might say that he drove off for his next job but I reckon the global media and the pharmaceutical companies probably done him in for speaking the truth. I told the chiropractor that my neck was feeling much much better since I started adding the toe touch exercises to my regimen and now there was only a tiny bit of pinching in my left shoulder blade which she said was a good sign and that we’re probably safe to start scheduling these appointments once every three weeks.
Fuck me today was a long day. But that’s a good thing
