A continuation of this from my necromancer!au. With the skeleton guys in the beginning (something that this Jaskier doesn't remember) it was more lighthearted. And it isn't the first time that corpses start to get reanimated it Jaskiers proximity too, but this time he pulled Aiden out of the afterlife and well- this is more of a warm bodies scenario and he is under Jaskiers thrall, if Jaskier likes it or not. lambert is so not going to be amused

Gaz : Hey, I just found out there's a haunted house not that far away and I've been binge watching ghost hunting videos lately, how about we rent some equipment and go try to find ourselves a ghost?

Soap : Oh uh....

Roach : Say yes, please say yes I've always wanted to go ghost hunting!

Soap : Sure.

Then at the haunted house there isn't a single ghost, except Roach, who makes all their equipment go crazy all by himself, and who has the time of his life. Gaz thinks he experienced something huge and Soap doesn't have the heart to tell him that his army of ghosts were actually just a dead Welsh madman cackling like the menace for society that he is from the top of the stairs...

bug biomass load will be filled

Every environment has a "bug biomass load" that load could be a diverse collection of species or it could be all American Roaches. It's up to you!

If you use general poisons you are killing the ants, the isopods, the beetles, the flies, the spiders, the centipedes. Most spray poisons aren't targeted. They have to be extra strong to kill the poison adapted Roach.

Baits are better, not ideal. Even better is environmental management. Eliminating the places and foods that attract the unwanted guests while supporting or being neutral to the wanted ones.

A basement w/ spiders, centipedes & ants will not be as welcome of a place for roaches.

Experiencing first hand why I've never seen ads for Hot Shot bug spray: caught a giant roach at my front door just after it crawled inside, and spent about 30 seconds spraying that damn thing before it finally stopped moving. It's cheaper than Raid by like 40 cents or something, so I figured I'd give it a shot, and man. Just pay extra for Raid if you want it dead fast.

Like this fucker would get sprayed, run around and hide behind something, I'd move it and spray it again, it would run off again and seem to shake the poison off, and it took a continuous stream of poison being blasted at it for at least 10 straight seconds before it stopped moving.

#it do smell nice though i will give it that #i think the bottle said it was lavender scented #i should put in a work order for ny door frame... tired of the huge ones getting in from outside. i got enough of the little ones inside #as it is #i keep having pest control come by once a week and it has made a noticeable improvement. but they never fully die out #i saw the teeniest tiniest one ever on my microwave earlier and squished it with a receipt #i hate roaches i wish they would all die forever #zen texts

Woke up at 5 as usual.

Went to start the kettle for tea.

Saw a spider with a bit of fuzz stuck to one of its legs, so I grabbed a piece of paper to get it off to help the little guy

Get the fuzz off, watch spider take off no longer slowed down by fuzz

See movement from corner of eye and look

It's a roach

Scream and run away, making dogs bark and waking up my husband

Spiders? Fine, lovely little creatures that I adore seeing around the house ourside

Roaches? Nightmare fuel, tiny little motherfuckers my dad used to throw at me as a kid to watch me freak out about them crawling in my hair/clothes

Anyway I'm hiding in the bathroom while my husband deals with thr roach

I mean there’s nothing in canon that disproves that the Core is super goofy. so why not

In Amphibia episode "the Beginning of the End" Darcy captures Anne and others and intends to "do what [Andrias] could not: kill Anne." This is easily the scariest Darcymoment to me, because of the ease of which Darcy does that and because Darcy makes this face:

This is not a Marcy expression. This is about as far from Marcy as you could possibly get. Marcy would never make this expression in this context. Why?

Well, know that Darcy has all of Marcy's memories. Marcy has known Anne since they were toddlers, and they hung out after school every day. She probably knew Anne's favorite foods and Anne's favorite color. They probably watched movies together, huddled under a blanket with moonlight streaming in from the window. Do you know what it takes to know all of that and still wear this expression? You'd have to be a special kind of fucked up to do that, and I don't believe that Marcy is that fucked up.

So. This image would singlehandedly convince me that Darcy really, really, isn't Marcy, and isn't influenced by Marcy in this way at least. Because if Marcy had any amount of say in this - the Core wouldn't be able to kill Anne. At least not with this expression.

Sidenote I actually kinda like that Marcy is completely powerless in controlling Darcy's actions. It makes her slapping away Aldrich's hand all the more meaningful because Aldrich takes away everything afterwards, leaves her in a dark room with nothing, just herself, some lonely little girl in her school uniform and not Marcy the chief ranger of the Newtopian Knight Guard. And she still rejects him.

Anyway. Where does Darcy's quirkyness come from? Well, Darcy says it might've "inherited some of [Marcy's] quirks" but it clearly doesn't get influenced that much from Marcy (see the above). From what I can identify "inherited some of her quirks" might mean that ol' Darce here enjoys Marcy's favorite foods more and falls over a bunch. I can't say anything conclusive on like, personality changes because the Core doesn't have a canon personality that isn't Darcy to compare and contrast to, which is honestly such a shame.

But. There is one thing the Core does when it has yet to become Aldrich-as-the-Core or Darcy-as-the-Core. And that is this:

It gets really close to people just to mess with their heads. This is a consistent character trait displayed both as the Core and as Darcy. This does imply that it has a consistent personality.

Besides, the Core literally named itself “Dark Marcy” because “the name appeals to us,” implying that that thing is canon goofy I refuse to believe otherwise!!

EDIT: Also the Core's first reaction to meeting Marcy is to demand Andrias kill her. Immediately. It's first reactions as Darcy to meeting Anne is to 1. mock her, 2. declare the rebellion over, 3. fecking kill her!? That's a very short path to killing, displayed both as the Core and as Darcy. Darcy is extremely hardcore and has no chill dot png.

Again, the Core doesn't have much of a personality, so I'm afraid the analysis has to end here. Sorry guys.
