I like mentally equating haircutting in humans are space orcs aus to those hoof maintenance/horn trimming videos that get like. at least ten comments each time going "???? so are we going to ignore the literal animal torture happening here??"

#like it looks really bad to us but this is not a harmful process (if done right) and is. very helpful to the animals in question actually #I've seen the “aliens think cutting hair is like insanely painful” thing before but I don't think I've seen an elaboration on. why.#like. fur sheds??? if there's fuzzy aliens or whatever it has to be atleast somewhat known this occurs #I can understand like. a scaled alien equating this to something like a violent ripping off of skin or something #but I. struggle to imagine an alien with fur coming to a similar conclusion #so I like to imagine hair cutting is only perceived as painful because the method itself to do it is seen as unnecessarily violent #like. why are you doing that??? your head fur should just fall out when it's ready to?? you're going to damage your coat???#and even then it's probably more of like. if you saw someone use a chainsaw to cut their nails. kind of reaction.#it's more. this is violent and potentially extremely painful and also there are better ways to do this specific thing.#saying stuff #i think.#humans are space orcs #I think I forgot to explain the hoof maintenance/horn trimming connection #basically it's like. logically yeah this looks better but it's seen as painful/even if you know this helps them it seems like it hurts

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a 2007 film directed by the Strause Brothers.

The film was released in the United States on December 25, 2007, in Germany and Australia on December 26, 2007, and in the rest of the UE on January 25, 2008.

From the corpse of the Predator Scar, infected at the end of the first film, a Predalien emerges, a Xenomorph born from Yautja and therefore much stronger than a Xenomorph born from a human.

Mrs. Yutani is the one who will soon co-found Weyland-Yutani.

Work began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver, also changing the name several times.

In Italy, viewing of the film was prohibited for minors under 18, while in the United States only for unaccompanied minors under 17.

However, it received heavy panning from critics, recording a 12% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also received two nominations for Worst Prequel or Sequel and Worst Pretext for a Horror Film at the 2007 Razzie Awards.

You know reading vol 5 of mdzs before all the rest (don't ask me why I'm a clown and there were Circumstances) has to be the craziest experience of my life. Because it took all of ten minutes of wwx talking to literally hit me so hard in the gut I had to sit down and listen to really loud music for a while to calm down.

Okay but after watching and hearing about Untold Origins, I am....actually slightly hopeful for a happy-ish ending for BSD?

I know we're years away from the manga actually ending, should all go well behind the scenes, but even so, the way the ADA - the organisation that Atsushi (our protag) is involved with - was created gives me hope.

Because you have these two loners, one alone by his own will and his fear of himself and others. And the other alone all of a sudden after a secluded but happy life with loving parent, growing slowly to fear the world. Yet in each other they find a family and find a new present, find meaning and colour in each other.

Fukuzawa learns to overcome his past, and Ranpo grows to look forward to his future. And together they create a place where their present will be safe, where they can help not only themselves but a very cruel world.

In addition, at the start, they are both (in essence) extraordinary but completely ordinary people. As in, Ranpo doesn't actually have a special ability despite his unusually high perception and deduction skills, and Fukuzawa doesn't yet know of his own ability and only has his near inhuman swordsman skills. And in that ordinariness disguised under extraordinariness, they affirm each other's humanity.

It's just so seriously special to me, as much as it's funny, that the founders of the supernatural-based agency weren't special in the sense of having supernatural powers. I can't quiiiite articulate it into words but there's SOMETHING in there about how the ADA was founded on a baseline of finding the extraordinary beauty of just being your own weird kind of human being, no powers needed. That, actually, being extraordinary was still being human.

And where I'm going with all of this is to say that...well, look at all the members of the ADA. And look at the way the agency was founded, by whom, and what it represents. The ADA was started on a basis of actually helping someone who felt alienated from the world find their place in it while also protecting them from it, and we SEE in Ranpo and Yosano and Kunikida - even in Katai, honestly, though he left - how it did exactly that. Helped someone perhaps not find meaning in their future, but definitely find love and hope in the now.

So why can't I believe that given what the ADA stands for - a family, a bright present, a place where one can rediscover their humanity and find a place in a seemingly meaningless world - the manga won't end with something like the way Untold Origins ended? People coming together and fighting their way through the everyday, just content in the fact that at least for now, they're alive and together?

#of course that might change if fukuzawa dies which then if so rip me #srsly i dont know how to explain the weird combination of find hope for the future and this is actually about finding meaning in the now...#...that bsd seems to have #its like the future is bleak and life is meaningless but we can make it less meaningless for each other #or like we are so alienated from the rest of the world because of some special gift we were born with...#...or some thing that we developed because of trauma/the past...#....but there IS a place for us not only where we can discover just how human we are...#...but where we can go ahead and accept the world anyway and even make our own place into it #like i could be way off and giving bsd too much credit but at the same time i can jope that our poor tiger gets his happy ending right?#anyway something something that post by faux-ee talking about how writing alienated writers but at the same time was the only place...#...they could express themselves and their humanity #idk i think i need more synonyms ive been repeating words and things so ill end it now #but yeah ive been pondering this a lot #bungo stray dogs #bsd #bungou stray dogs #bsd musings #spitting nonsense #bsd untold origins #bsd season 4 #bsd s4 spoilers #bsd spoilers #bsd theories

Love giving oc’s dramatic backstories then giving them normal lives afterwards

Human: Yes, I was first officer on the spaceship where our captain tried to sabotage our ship and leave us for dead, because he didn’t actually think we’d find an alien species so his plan was to head back to earth pretending he did and that they murdered the rest of his crew, so that he could not only become famous from the whole thing, but also collect the life insurance from all of us.

Human: I was the only one who didn’t drink the spiked beverage during our party, so when the alarms went off signaling that the ship was failing, I was the only one who was able to wake up and go fix what I could, where afterwards I discovered his betrayal and my captain (who I thought of as my best friend) tried to kill me.

Human: I was able to fight back and shove him into an escape pod, which he used to, well, escape, but not before pointing out that he had damaged the ship’s interior too much and that we most likely wouldn’t make it back to base.

Human: After he flew off, his pod was attacked by a hostile alien species, and he was killed before he could enjoy the irony of his story now being somewhat true. With the oxygen starting to fail, a dangerous ship with unknown technology attacking us, and the life of my unconscious crew in my hands, I, as the new acting captain, did the only thing I could.

Human: I steered the ship into a nearby wormhole, and when we came out the other end, we found ourselves back at Earth, but over a thousand years past when we had left it. And now we have to adjust to this new future where we don’t only have to learn about a whole bunch of alien species’ cultures, but also relearn our own, as human culture has changed drastically in this time.

Human: But that’s not what we’re here to talk about! I just want to welcome all you students to “Intro to Knitting”!

Random Student: ….what?
