I shall try to articulate my thoughts on Soundwave (ending, at least) after reading the 2005 IDW issues he was in. More specifically, the whole "believer" thing with Optimus Prime.

So, from what I've read, Soundwave doesn't strike me as the most important character of the whole continuity. Like, you've got Megatron changing sides, Shockwave's time-travelling, Starscream becomes Cybertron's ruler (*shocked*). Soundwave's just tryna do his thing with the True Decepticon WayTM, peace and all when there's no one else (of the commanding Decepticons) left.

Then he gets blackmailed by Optimus (damn bro seriously) and has to follow him into battle and then he sees him rise a Titan with just a word. (Also the whole thing where he reads a human's mind and finally sees them as equals? Looked a lot more solemn on Pinterest but I'm glad I still read it myself.)

And from this point, to me, Optimus and Soundwave have the same goal. Soundwave always believed and wanted all Cybertronians to be equals, and now he thinks so of all sentient lifeforms. Like Optimus.

You know the Autobots give me "yeah that'd be neat" vibes when they talk about equality (although I may not have read enough issues about them). They're like that cuz they're good guys, you know? They follow Optimus cuz sure, he's the Prime, he's the Autobot leader, but he's also their friend. Soundwave feels more like a vow.

And I think it's interesting he's the only one with Prime against Sentinel Prime (or whoever that truly was in the end in White Heat), even if I'm sure Sentinel was like "nope nope Arcee nope don't want to die". Sentinel calls Soundwave "a believer" (true believer? It's only been 12h and I'm already forgetting things) and just. He's a Decepticon. They've been at each other's throat for millenias. We're not talking about a goody-two-shoes Autobot who's always been on Optimus' side, or any bot who's not aligned. Soundwave wants the Prime title out the window in his quest of equality, and there he is a believer. A believer in the one true Prime.

And in the end sure, there are lots of bots who bring Optimus to defeat Unicron, Arcee first. Alive and dead ones. But I can't get over the fact that it's the faith of Soundwave that gave him the last boost he needed.

Idk I just think he's neat.

And in "Accidental Killing For Fun And Profit" news today, Grian managed to kill his own teammates a staggering FOUR times in a single episode! You can't blame him too much for the MLG Bucket Miss, but his pathological need to push buttons and lead violent mobs into crowds is not getting any less dangerous as the series goes on.

Personally, for me... I like computer guts more than organic ones. But a mix of the two? Liquid cooling systems filled with blood, artificial or otherwise.. Cyborgs.. I don't know. I like those.

DC Dimensions project plan: Deathstroke (Vol. 1)

This series is not an assured project. It is a concept that can still be changed or scrapped.

Synopsis

Deathstroke has been attacked by a mercenary called Mourn. His family is targeted by Leviathan, a secret terrorist espionage group. Their leader hired Shadowspire, a group of ex-military mercenaries specialized to eliminate metahuman threats, to capture Deathstroke and his family.

Characters

Slade Wilson/Deathstroke - A mercenary and assassin for hire. He loves his family and will cross any line to protect them. As long as the cause is just, he will accept the contract.

Rose Wilson/Ravager - Slade's daughter through a Thai woman named Lalana. She is also a former Teen Titans member turned vigilante in Bangkok.

Joseph Wilson/Jericho - Slade's son with Adeline Kane. He is also a Checkmate spy with psychic powers. It allows him to enter people's minds and retrieve desired information just through eye contact. If the will is weak enough, he can even possess them.

Marcus Shaw/Leviathan - The leader of the terrorist organization Leviathan. His motive to target the Wilson family is unclear.

Anton Reiter/Baron Blitzkrieg - A Danish special intelligence officer and the head of Shadowspire. He is a nobleman of Germanic bloodline, using his wealth to found his ventures. To face Deathstroke, he wears a prototype combat armor stolen from A.R.G.U.S. with the purpose of countering metahuman powers. The armor it is equipped with energy shields, it enhances strength, and is nearly indestructible.

George/Mourn - An assassin working for Baron Reiter. He believes he is better than Deathstroke. In the past, he has taken the contracts that Deathstroke refuses because he does not share the same moral code.

Dr. James B. Prosser-Smith - A high-ranking scientist of Leviathan. He is also a friend of Marcus Shaw.

Other Information

Burn Gorman and Charlie Day are my fancasts for Leviathan and Prosser-Smith.

The main inspiration for this project was the animated film "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons."

Dr. James Blake Prosser-Smith was named for a friend who died two years ago today (Mar. 25, 2022). Rest in peace Blake.

So Many thoughts about them #watch me shower myself in praise lmao. *chidi anagonye voice* shut up I’m confident now #I really like how different their demeanours turned out #this is supposed to be like. six to eight months before afarin’s death #so she’s really living her best life #has a loving husband and two wonderful children and spends her days working outside in the warm sun #showing off her muscles and tattoos to anyone who chooses to look #oh yeah those are tattoos on her forearms like the ones ghazan has it’s hard to tell in black and white #between her and her husband (who I can’t decide on a name for rip) they make enough for a comfortable life. a good life #before the sickness came. that is.#meanwhile the swamp tribes are full on being ravaged by it #nuying’s high risk so she’s almost completely isolated safe for her toddler daughter #even for someone living in a polluted swamp her health is worse off than most #she had a hard pregnancy. a hard birth. miscarriages before and after #but she cares little for herself. her daughter is always at the forefront of her mind #she’s already lost her husband. she can’t lose her only child too #she doesn’t know if she’d rather someone less likely to get sick watch over her. or have her close by so she could ensure she was safe #not that anyone would bother to look after her little flower anyway. not with everyone calling her a curse #I could go on about the tragedy of nuying for so so long but sadly tag limits are a thing #I might colour this later idk we’ll see. also might draw them again but with liu this time and label it dead mom club or smth #oh also yes nuying is ming-hua’s mom and afarin is ghazan’s mom if it wasn’t obvious
