time travel arccccccccccccc yessssssssss

I have been waiting SO LONG to reread this arc hhhhh yessss

starting off strong with the sexy roller cover. nice

I love the disconnect of ‘orion pax: outlaw’ compared to the last time we saw him in shadowplay where he was orion pax: supercop

he’s still punching people for JUSTICE or whatever so I guess not much has changed

oh my god this is the issue with the many many two-page spreads...the first time I read this issue I didn't realize that was a thing and GOD I was SO fucking confused. there's already a lot going on in this issue/arc but this made things so much worse hvbhjkdfbsk. I powered thru and still managed to understand most of the arc despite reading half this issue out of order (essentially) bc the website I read it on split the pages up and I couldn't tell they were supposed to be doubled (and also I'm dumb so I didn't figure it out)

anyways, the actual issue...windcharger is out here using his powers to rip a dudes arms clean off. wow!

and there's skids getting punched in the face. Ls

and glitch! a totally minor character of course...

MANNNNN I SO adore the panel of all the lost lighters appearing in a cloud of purple smoke, all posing epically....SO fucking good, peak sci-fi coolness vibes, A++

as usual jro killing it w/the titles, ‘elegant chaos’ is such a great name for a time travel arc

also reading the tfwiki has shown me that many of jros titles are song or album titles, to which I say - that's epic and I love it. with jro doing it, I feel like it straddles the line between referencing music and the very fanfic-esque ‘title things after music’ vibe. I love it

oh god I forgot they use bs cybertronian time units in this sometimes lmao...I mean of course they do but still like, what the fuck is a cycle. is that a day. I feel like these words all have no meaning/the meanings change drastically depending on continuity. I cant keep up and also I'm lazy and don't care enough to try

I really like the mtmte approach to time travel and paradoxes and whatnot. its just complex enough to be interesting but not too convoluted that it bogs down the story. perfect sci-fi fun!

mannnn chromedome talking abt brainstorm :( I'm sad abt those two hhhhh

and I love how at this point, nobody in the cast ACTUALLY knows brainstorm well enough to know what he’s really doing - including chromedome, who’s ostensibly his closest friend, somebody he’s known for a while - and even the readers don't really know what he’s up to...I like the mystery tbh

cant believe rewind wrote orion pax’s biography, omg. completely forgot abt that detail

cd saying ‘I love it when he talks history’ about rewind....hhhh I love cdrw so muuuuch

godddd the line rodimus says abt whirl - how they need people like whirl around who are ‘happy to get in the way’ of danger and death - that shit haunts me man like...rodimus is basically saying that he’s bringing whirl along to potentially die in place of someone like orion pax (nevermind the fact that whirl dying would ALSO fuck up the timeline)...like, how deep does it go?? is he saying that bc he knows whirl has been trying to get himself killed for a while now, or just bc whirl likes violence? mannn I cant...the character intricacies...man

anyways...I love rodimus he’s such an interesting character. you have that fucked up moment and then in the next panel he’s saying ‘if you want to call it a time phone, I wont stop you’ about the quantum walkie-talkie. he has the RANGE

oh and then rodimus casually volunteering chromedome to do mnemosurgery on anyone who might accidentally find out about them time traveling, which is again fucked up on multiple levels. the raaaaange

vjaksbhdhfusajbfdjk that panel of the lost light squad just standing there like idiots reminds me of that post where someone said abt that panel ‘these characters have a collective 3 brain cells’ or something hvbjadkfnksfdl

rodimus IMMEDIATELY breaking his own rules by trying to reassure pax that they're good guys by pointing at his autobot badge, even tho the autobots DONT EVEN EXIST YET at this point...my boy PLEASE go purchase some brain cells from the store

and the fact that rodimus introduced himself to pax w/his real name...shouldn't he go by an alias or st??? that seems like a good time travel rule since optimus and rodimus definitely know each other later

and like, did they not anticipate that some of the people in the past would recognize some of the lost lighters hgbajkhdjfnjksf like cd and whirl get Instantly recognized...great job guys

they are all SO bad at this hvbahskjdhfbasjkf I cantttt luckily for them the orion crew is handing them easy alibis

also I love the scenery here, the bg looks like rock but there's metal piping and stuff running thru it, its so cool...really adds to the whole ‘cybertron biomes are made of metal’ thing

AUGHHH and then we jump to rodimus ONCE AGAIN breaking his own rules and trying to save trailbreaker...IT HURTS MAN...god I love rodimus, I feel like him being broken up about crewmembers like trailbreaker dying is one part regular sadness over people he knows dying for tragic reasons, and one part personal guilt at someone under his command dying, even if he’s not involved/at fault. I love the dichotomy of this emotional reaction that comes only partially from empathy/emotion, but also comes from a kinda self-centered need for success as measured by people under your command staying alive. and taking into account rodimus’s life it totally makes sense that he’d act like that...GAH I love it. the complexity of it all!

orion pax saying ‘you should read [megatron]. it’s powerful stuff’ I'm screaming, so many LAYERSSSSS

oh man I didn't even notice but roller getting debris blasted into his face like that makes the whole ‘roller is tarn’ theory even more legit considering tarn’s face scars....

‘tighter the better’ hhh don't say that orion. but also, that’s the companion phrase to megatron saying ‘the deeper the better’ hvbhasjkhdfbaksjlf

I do love the semi-campy action hero antics that orion pax gets up to. its just so fun, even when the stakes are high and things are serious

oh man that last panel of trailbreaker holding up roller’s juice box...iirc the first time I read this I thought that was roller (cause of the juice box I guess? idk I'm an idiot) so I was like oh ok he must've come back or something. very much related but I didn't really think about tarn being a particular pre-established character and totally didn't read the whole ‘roller is tarn’ thing that was going on

which in my defense ruth also didn't pick up on any of that while reading this and eventually like 2 issues before the reveal I had to prompt her like ‘you should maybe be wondering WHO tarn is’ vhbahjksdfbaksjdf

so! issue 37! this issue is a solid favorite of mine, id say definitely top 5 or even 3. I'm super biased bc I fucking LOVE time travel, it’s seriously one of my favorite tropes ever, and this issue hits all the time travel beats I love. characters traveling to the past and interacting with people they know! conversations that have multiple meanings bc of TIME TRAVEL! trying to save someone who meets a terrible fate in your future! fun time travel action! the time traveling characters being generally terrible at hiding the fact that they're time travelers! ITS SO GOOD.

and I love the clever way everything is tied together here - where we get a nice continuation of shadowplay, with this taking place shortly after that with a lot of the same cast, and time travel classics like the good ole ‘if we hadn't travelled back in time and done what we did, the future we came from wouldn't have existed at all,’ in the flavor of ‘rodimus saving his baby self’ and ‘rodimus NOT saving trailbreaker’ and ‘everyone forgot about roller :(’

ok but like, did the lost lighters just go ‘oh well, guess rollers gone now.’ like they DID realize that the outlaw crew would have no idea what happened to him if they got their memories erased, right?? did the lost lighters figure that since roller never reappeared after this time period, that was how history was ‘supposed’ to go and they shouldn't mess with it? am I overthinking it? as usual: yes, probably. I love overthinking about comics, in case that wasn't obvious

basically...I love this issue soooo much. so so good and a bunch of fun tropes that I love. I mean the whole arc is like that for me since I love time travel so much. so I cant wait to (re)read more!!

Help help help. Idk what im doing with my life im so stupid idk whats happening like help. Im realy. UGHHHHH. I’m like relaly depressed like so depressed idk :(((((( i just need a tub of ice cream right now pLLLLEEEEEASSEEEE. i dk what to do with my life my grades are so bad my life is so bad i keep eating romwell is so toxic now godfrikin damnit im so annyoying i dont think i even really like him like is it just the feeling ye but i will write a song rn so im good for songwriting rip my classics..

SHIt shit shit. So ball was last night. Post ball depression probs? But like. Wtf. hmm i guess we start from the very beginning. So basically like we werent really talking last week but then it was like alg coz we started talking about ball online i gwess. OK SO yesterday basicalyl started at 2pm so we went to ally’s house and her sister did my makeup and ya went home and ivan and melaaa was already there. And we just hung out and like mela did my hair and stuff. But yeah then people started coming we took photos and ate a bit of food lotsa photos. Hmm like ezekiel renzo kneeko and miguel came first lol then like lory annrey sherry and dilbie. Then cynthia LOTSA photos i tell u, then erl? And then ella. The parents seemed to get along well so that was NICEEE. Tita ramos loved it. So yeah then i think romwell came and HFUIJKHGNJDAKSFJIDSOAKLFDSKALFMDSLF. Holy moly when he frkn came through the door my HEART MY MIND i freaked out mannn ommmmmmg. But yeah then i went up to him and we hugged and it was a reassuring nice hug that i love from him :))))))))) i was like shaking lol and when we were taking photos he was like STOP SHAKING fndklsafds. Woops. It was so very nice omg. So yeah we took photos with him putting my corsage on and i put on his buttonho le it twas nice. Nice nice and we did that kinda arm linking drinkign thing and yeah. And tita & tito ramos dropped us off and we took a scenic route coz we were so early lol, we were literally the first ones there. BUt omg ok when we got out of the car, he held out his hand and helped me get out of the car he did that to me before omg i rmb btu i lOVE. Love. he was so nice hte whole night. So yeah then we linked arms on the way to the venue and we held hands up the STAIRS and i kept my cool i think lol fkdsfkdsafsdja. Kilig to the bones mayn. So frkn nice. And we got a photo at the entrance and greeted like the header girls and teachers and stuff. LITERALLY THE WHOLE Time we were linking arms my lord god. We had photos and twas cute. Then we just hung around i think and greeted other people and talked and stufffff. It was like how it used to be between us? Like slightly flirty but like GOOD and i was happy and he seemd ok and i was ok and it seemed like nothing happened and we were all good everything was good. <3

Hmm ok then like linked arms to get dinner and stuff. Then i think we probs started dancing and getting litty and stuff then everything was kinda fuzzy. I guess the one other thing i wanted to talk about was the slow dance…. So yeah i went to ask john to dance bc of my frkn odds thingy and we danced for a bit until i was like yo go to jael and then i walked away and romwell and i saw each other and he went up to me and i took his hand and we went to the dancefloor. He asked me like in the car before if i knew how to slow dance i said no and he was like, ok ill teach u. He like intertwined his hands with mine. At first it was kinda just fun and sining along with the song and we were bumping into theo and raewyn a lot. And stuff like that like getting the hang of it at first and trying not to step on him lol we were looking at each other like quite a bit and then i started looking down and he like started pulling me closer to him like super close man like to the point where i couldnt see his face and our chests were touching at times and then he started leaning his head on my head i was liek SHIT and i like really fucking felt it omg these feelings hoyl moly bruh and i was like slightly closing my eyes i felt like DRUNk on his love or osmething lol what love tho rip. But it was like that and i was like smiliing hshshfjkdsjkfjdsafdsa. It was so NICE LIKE THE NICEST MOMENT OF THE ENTIRE NIGHT I want to feel taht again holy shit ijfklsfmdsa im crying it was probs the best moment of my entire LIFE. that was probs like a once in a lifetime thing with that guy but wow it was so frkn nice cneinceincninc. Then after we like made eye contact and smiled and like held ands for a bit and the photgrapher was there when the song finished and brought me back to reality and we got a photo :3 but it was like so much MORE than i expected like everything and more lol fuck. WHY DOES HE DO THIS TO ME. and then annrey and ella came up to me when we finished and was liek OMG THAT WAS SOG OOD and was like screaming for me like same. Cryyyy cryyy crycyrycrycryrcycryrycyycr. Anwyay. Yeah we just got lit after that. Then prizes and crap and frkn ryan and rosa thing. Then it was slow dance again thinking out loud lol and it wasnt as great as the other one. But was like the slow dance i EXPECTED but yeah still cool ??!?!?!?!

Sequoia Camping Trip 2017

August 23 - August 25, 2017

Daniel invited Christiana, me, and his best friend, Frank, to go camping for two nights and three days in Sequoia.

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

We dropped Dena off at Union Station at 5:30 in the morning, and slept from 6:30 to 7:30, until Daniel and Frank arrived at Christiana’s (an hour later than planned due to traffic D:). After hours of driving, we first stopped by the General Sherman Tree (the largest tree in the world :O) and took some pictures (the tree was so big, we had to take the pic using the panorama mode but up and down and not left to right lol).

Then, we finally arrived at Lodgepole in Sequoia. While we were unpacking, we noticed some thundering sounds and gray clouds above the mountain to the right of us… And less than an hour later, when we were seated around the not-yet-lit campfire, we noticed the clouds drawing nearer and nearer. Then, Daniel screamed as he felt the first drop, which made us get up and start shoving everything inside our tent, bear box, and car. So we spent the next hour and a half of rain in our tent resting, and playing Bananagrams and Monopoly Deal. It was actually a pretty nice experience listening to the rain fall on our tent hehe.

Once the rain stopped, we went outside to prep our gogi partyyy (samgyupsal and chadol). We were actually supposed to have the gogi party on our last night at Sequoia, but we realized the meat would spoil unless we get a bunch of ice for the entire day while we were out hiking the next day. So good thing Daniel and Frank thought about that. :) So the guys ended up cooking the meat and serving us hoho. That was very nice of them. :)

After dinner, we ended our night with some campfire time, making s'mores and conversations. Christiana even made a molarmellow #직업병 HAHA

Christiana and I woke up to a campfire and a breakfast already prepared by the guys, who woke up an hour in advance (thank you!!). Then, we got ready to go hiking! We found a parking spot super easily and started the hike up the Hump Trail.

Omg. This trail was hard af. It took us three hours just to go up. And on the way, the guys (who know their way around here) kept saying, “We’re almost there!” Turns out, we were "almost there" TWO hours later ! -o- lol

But wow I’ve never seen this much plants in one place. It was so beautifulll.

This pic was taken on the way down, but it was so shady because there were so many tall trees.

We took many many needed breaks on the way up because it was exhausting. Thankfully, I didn’t feel like I was going to faint (how I usually feel when I go hiking). BUT I was very very tired (heart racing and out of breath).

But the view once we got there was amazing. The pictures don’t do justice, but man… It was so so so pretty.

After taking the beauty in and lots and lots of pictures, we made our way down towards the lake.

Here, we (the guys lol) put the fishing gear together to try to catch some fish! Sadly, my fishing line kept getting tangled, and at the end of the day, Christiana and I did not catch one fish… D: Daniel and Frank, on the other hand, caught a whole bunch… no fair… We didn’t eat the fish we caught or anything though. The guys just released them back into the water. One of the fish that Frank tried to release actually turned into a sad story:

So he caught a fish and then removed the hook to throw it back into the lake. So he chucked it towards the water, and then BAM! it slams into a huge boulder and lands in the dirt… So by this time, we were all O.O / :O, and Frank makes his way down to the dirt where the fish landed, picks it back up, and actually throws it into the water this time. And then… the poor thing just floated back up to the surface… T.T So sad. :(

So yeah… After some fishing, we made chicken sandwiches and PB&J for lunch and then tried to fish some more.

Then, around 3:30, we headed down the mountain after taking this picture.

We took the Watchtower Trail going down because Daniel and Frank knew that this trail had a crazy view (like going down, there was a crazy view). A good chunk of the top half of the mountain, we were walking on a ledge. O.O

This was preeeetty thrilling. hoho

Poor Christiana and Daniel were getting pretty nervous. ><

So while going down this scary part of the mountain, we came across this cliff-looking thing that one of Daniel and Frank’s friend supposedly climbed up.

So Frank wanted to try it himself too, and I decided to follow because when will I ever climb up to the end of a cliff, you know? But Daniel and Christiana decided to stay behind and take pictures of us once we reach the edge of the cliff. Unfortunately, the thing was impossible to climb up because the path was extremely narrow and too risky try to go passed that tree sticking up in the middle of the ledge. So we just sat as close to the cliff thing as possible and snapped a pic there. haha

So the place Frank and I were sitting on was actually not too scary because it was wide and had places for us to sit. So Daniel and Christiana joined us! :D Look at us livin’ life on the edge. hehe

After spending a lot of time taking pictures going down the mountain, we continued our way back down the mountain, through the foresty part again. This time, I think we only took two to three breaks because it was so much easier going down. But towards the end, we were very very tired for we had a looong day… When we had around thirty minutes left, Daniel shouted, “Car!” as in, “We’re almost there because I see the parking lot!” But when we approached it, it turned out to be a huge white boulder…! L O L. It was so sad but so funny haha. So eventually, we reached the bottom of the mountain two and a half hours after we left the lake (so this includes our two breaks and the many many picture breaks we took lol).

For dinner, we each had two hot dogs: one pineapple sausage and one spicy sausage. We even added grilled onions and garlic from the gogi party. It was a good thing we had the gogi party the night before because we were super tired. The hot dogs were so much simpler to make and eat haha.

And the rest of the night was just cleaning up and more eating. We had the campfire going again, and we ate some corn, goguma, and s’mores.

The next morning, I got up at 6:30 because it was cold + I was uncomfortable sleeping on the ground + I was paranoid about leaking since my time of the freaking month started Wednesday night in Sequoia -_-. So I washed up and everything and just waited on the bench outside because I didn’t want to wake the guys up since they were sleeping towards the side of the door. Then around 8:30, I hear the tent zipper unzip, followed by a loudass fart. Of course, it’s Daniel, who has been ripping farts with no shame the entire trip lmao. So he started a fire as soon as he woke up, and the first thing I ate that morning was a giant marshmallowwww hoho.

So once everyone woke up, we ate the leftovers for breakfast and packed the car. We then walked over to a lake across the street from our campsite. That was pretty niceee.

By the time it was time for us to check out, we finished up our games of horseshoe and made sure everything was in the car.

On the way down, we stopped by Moro Rock and some more giant trees.

Turns out this Moro “Rock” was a 20-minute climb up. -_- lol Man… my legs were burning…

They should seriously rename it as Moro Mountain… This is a pic I took of Moro “Rock” on the way home:

But in the end, the view was amazinggg haha

After we made our way back down from Moro “Rock,” we visited some more giant trees.

And thennnn we made our way back to LA with just one stop and concluded our trip with BCD.

Twas a very very fun and exciting camping trip! Although I was disappointed that I didn’t see any bears or catch any fish, it was exciting since there was a lot of firsts for me - first time camping (not glamping lol), first time learning how to cast a fishing rod, first time playing horseshoe, first time hiking for three hours and not feeling like fainting, and first time seeing and admiring the beauty of nature (trees, mountains, sky FULL of stars, sight and sound of lakes/streams), I never realized how much I loved the beauty of nature. I always thought trees were trees and mountains were mountains, but mannn. Nature is so beautiful! lol
