Random Headcannons:
Mischa is only allowed to play ONE song when the choir hangs out. Sometimes he'll play his own raps on YouTube but Penny can't show her support because she has flashbacks to JK-47
Constance and Noel have sleepovers where they just paint eachother's nails, have talks and watch movies all night
Ricky gets Constance to beta his fanfiction
Ocean has no idea how to use things like a blow dryer or a handmixer. She also can't braid hair so Constance does it for her
Penny let's Constance teach Ocean to braid with her hair and they bake cookies while they hang out
Mischa absolutely DEVOURS jello
Noel gets rides home with Mischa after his shifts. Sometimes he'll will show up early to just hang out and wait for him.
Ricky got Mischa DEEP in Zolar lore and he updates him constantly

ocean is the only member of the choir that doesnt have her ears pierced because shes scared to death of needles
mischa is banned from the only wafflehouse in uranium for reasons he refuses to explain
noel and ocean made a pact in like middle school to get married if neither of them were married by the age of 30
neither mischa nor ricky are allowed on aux under any circumstances because theyll play nothing but badegg and undertale fan songs respectively
mischa walks around in a t-shirt and shorts in the middle of canadian winter, hes just immune to the cold for some reason
ocean sorts all her stationary in rainbow order, she will explode if they get messed up
noel and ocean get into arguments about the best taylor swift albums constantly during choir
ocean is a lover and fearless stan for life an noels favorite is reputation

one time she did and both of them turned to her in sync, yelled "no!", and went back to fighting

noel was a theatre kid but was banned from all school performances after the nativity incident so he started taking art instead
constance is the same height as (if not a little shorter than) ocean but always wears platforms so ocean ends up being the shortest either way

everyone in the choir needs glasses just to varying degrees most of them just dont wear them for reasons ranging from "yeah thats understandable" to "WHAT THE FUCK RICKY
penny hates pants with all her heart and will only wear shorts or skirts no matter how cold it is outside
constance hates pants almost as much and will wear shorts all the way up to like december
mischa refuses to close any of the apps or tabs on his phone and it literally dies quicker than he did
ocean loves cats but cats hate her, if they dont kill her from allergies, theyll start scratching the shit out of her (she cant be within 500 ft of the potts household without dying on the spot)
noel literally had to lock penny and ocean in the choir room together for them to confess to each other
it took them 2 hours
the others were just outside playing cards the whole time
mischa taught ricky poker during those 2 hours and ricky absolutely wrecked him every single round
mischa rage quit after the 5th time he lost in a row
the piano in the st cassian music room (/choir practice room) has been horrendously out of tune for longer than anyone can remember and no one bothers to fix it (ocean tried once but failed miserably and probably just made it worse)

Noel was hyped and got so decked out for it (like face paint, glitter, about a million rainbow bead bracelets for the choir)
Mischa stole weed from Oceans parents to sell at the parade
Ocean was not very happy about this
Constance wore a shirt that said “free hugs”
Penny offered to have Ricky ride on her shoulders
She was convinced it was a foolproof plan until Ricky reminded her that she couldn’t see him signing if he was on above her head
Ricky painted his wheelchair wheels rainbow
Mischa punched so many protestors in the face that he almost got asked to leave
Ocean got gifted a drink by a butch and she was beet red for like an hour afterwards
(She dumped it out immediately after realizing it was alcoholic)
Constance got henna tattoos
Noel bought flags for each of the choir members
(No Ocean didn’t almost cry what are you talking about /s)
Mischa was covered in glitter by the end of the day
Noel may or may not have been responsible for about 90% of it
Ricky kept popping wheelies at people who wouldn’t get out of his way
Penny threw her doll at a protester
Ocean attempted to flirt with a girl one (☝️) time and then proceeded to get so flustered when she flirted back that she tripped and fell on her face
Noel got many many pictures
Ricky has like 15 different flags hanging off the back of his wheelchair
Constance brought pastries to give out at the parade

Like she didn’t get a single second of sleep making them pastries
She also brought a lot of water
Penny bought a rainbow ribbon dancer and she kept calling herself Indiana Jones and whipping it at the choir
Someone gave Mischa a flower crown
Noel dragged them all to a face painter
This one group asked Ricky if they could paint his nails and he was so hyped
He ended up convincing them to paint the rest of the choirs nails as well
Penny and Mischa both got their middle fingers painted rainbow
Ocean and Noel made a bet over who could get the most rainbow bead necklaces
(Noel won)
Ricky immediately sought out the furries
Mischa ended up very very drunk with about five new accessories and “fuck you” painted on his head in the bi flag colors
Constance ended up with the crystal girlies somehow and got like five mood rings
She also (temporarily) dyed her hair rainbow
They all crashed at the bakery afterwards

All of my rtc headcanons but they get worse and worse
Noel and Ocean secretly adore each other but as if they were brothers. They have a dynamic like "I can laugh at you but anyone who messes with you is dead."
Noel's mother used to watch old movies and that's where the boy's passion for this whole thing was born.
Constance's brother often tried to follow his sister no matter where she went (high school, choir practice, cooking class).
During choir practice, Noel would paint Penny's nails. He started doing it one day when she fell asleep in class and he decided to do it without waking her up. He succeeded and they both liked the result, so they've been doing it ever since.
Ricky wrote comics about the adventures of the Space Age Bachelor Man (he wrote and illustrated it) and his dream was to publish it one day. Penny was the only one he showed them to.
Mischa, Penny and Ricky are the BEST of friends. They usually meet in Ricky's house to watch superhero movies and read comics.
Ocean and Constance have sleepovers where they watch Barbie movies.
Ricky had a huge crush on Penny.
When Ocean was a little girl, she used to lived in the same hippie commune as Penny, so they were very good friends. But when her family left Elysum (shortly before kindergarten) they didn't see each other again until Penny joined the choir, but Ocean felt ashamed of her so she pretended she didn't know her. This hurt Penny a lot because she knew that Ocean remembered her, but she didn't say anything.
When the accident happened, Constance's brother was still a little kid so with the passage of time he forgot his sister's voice and he blames himself for this.
Ocean always felt identified with Matilda due to the lack of affection from her parents.
Constance always offered to let Ocean spend as much time as she needed at her house when she didn't want to deal with her parents, but Ocean stopped doing it because she was jelaous of the Blackwoods since they were the family she always dreamed of.
After the accident, Mischa's adoptive parents felt very guilty for not treating him as he deserved. When they recovered the boy's phone, they discovered Talia's messages and told her what had happened.
She did not believe them but she was left with the doubt and looked for it on the internet. That was how she found out.
Father Marcus told the kids to get on one last ride because they had to go home. They chose the Cyclone. He saw the accident and when he approached to bless the deceased, he fainted when he realized that they were his children. He woke up 7 hours after the accident and the coroner confirmed that it was indeed them.
As Penny lost her memories in the warehouse due to her body never being identified, the other kids also lost all their memories of her. That's why no one remembers her.
Penny wrote in her notebook everything that happened in the warehouse so she doesn't forget it. Months later, one of the girls who bullies her discover the notebook and she burns it. Penny cries but she doesn't cry because her notebook is destroyed, but because she no longer remembers the choir anymore.

so we all know Ricky has thirteen cats, but what about pets for the other choir members?
Noel has a black cat named Nyx! she lives like a goddamn QUEEN.
the Blackwood family owns a six-toed cat named Tippy Toes! he can frequently be seen at the cafe, standing on his toes, meowing at people. Constance also a White’s tree frog named Key Lime Pie!
Ocean has a betta fish named RBG (Ruth Betta Gillsburg)! she loves this fish more than she loves herself. her mental health rests on the non-existent shoulders of this fish. she would KILL for this fish.
Mischa has a hamster named Speed Demon! her actual name is Nancy, but she runs around a lot, so he usually just calls her Speed Demon (Speed for short). she has a GIANT tank; he’s very big on proper hamster care.
Penny can’t have pets because of her foster placement, but she really, REALLY wants a rat!

Uranium isn't exactly the most queer friendly town
so when you and Noel become friends you stick to each other like glue
he'd always been told to dial his queerness down, and you were no stranger to bigots trying to tell you what your gender was
but when you two are together, neither of you feel like you have to hide who you are
you two definitely do silly fashion shows and makeovers together
karaoke sessions are a must.
he'll gush about the guys he likes for hours if you let him
you take turns watching movies of your choice each sleepover
but depending on how long you stay up for (and how long it takes for Noel's mother to take his laptop away on account of it being too loud), sometimes you take turns choosing multiple movies throughout the night
when you sleep over at his, his mum always makes sure you don't sleep in the same bed (she doesn't think you're gonna do anything inappropriate together, she just doesn't think it's appropriate for kids your age to sleep in the same bed)
but you do anyway
Noel puts the spare mattress in his room for his mum to see but you rarely use it
Noel is always the first to fall asleep, and the last to wake up somehow
you two do face masks and skin care routines
not properly of course, you use literally whatever skin care product or mask you can find and make do with what you have
at around the 3 am mark is when you two begin confessing your darkest secrets to each other in an impromptu therapy session type of way
it almost always ends with both of you in tears consoling each other, before the 3 am sleepover energy kicks in and you're both cackling at nothing

i think you can tell a lot about a person by what their phone case looks like so here's what i think the choir kids' phone cases look like:
ocean: she probably has a plain navy blue otterbox because she is very concerned about protecting her phone and also doesn't think brightly colored phone cases are "professional." however, there is one small smiley-face sticker on the bottom left corner, courtesy of Constance
noel: he has one of those clear phone cases where you can stick things underneath. he probably puts a lot of thought into the theme of his phone case and spends hours meticulously curating the right items to put on his phone case. he probably has vintage newspaper clippings, dried rose petals, polaroids, movie tickets, etc. on there
mischa: no phone case, his phone is completely unprotected, the absolute madman. he took #yolo a little too seriously. he has a bright red iPhone though
ricky: cat-themed phone case, obviously. i also like to think it's heavily embellished --like he has dangling phone charms, stickers, etc. (all cat-themed or cat adjacent, ofc). i also think that a glow-in-the-dark, space-themed phone case is in the realm of possibility
constance: she has MULTIPLE phone cases and switches them out every few months. they're in all colors of the rainbow (pastels, neons, etc.) AND she has phone charms. she likes to stick polaroids of her friends/family on there and I'm also 89% sure she would be a k-pop stan so she probably adds photocards, too.
jane: either she does not have a phone, has a rlly old phone that can't actually have a case, OR one of those fuzzy phone cases with the stuffed animals on them.

choir asl hcs bc im in an asl class rn
Ricky and his family use actual asl and not "their own made up sign language"
Ricky teaches the choir asl (shenanigans ensue)
Penny picks up on it the quickest, as she's the one who spends the most time with him.
Mischa takes about as long as she does to learn, maybe a little longer to become fluent (he's really good at learning languages)
Ocean takes the longest and it frustrates her so much because she's always been the best at everything and everything has always come easy to her... except for this thing which is vital to the communication between her and Ricky
Constance has an asl tutor because she doesn't get the hang of it easily, the choir (minus Ricky) meets with the tutor each Wednesday at the Blackwood Cafe to sharpen their skills, but Constance sees her every day until she doesn't need to anymore.
Noel makes a competition out of how good he and Ocean are at asl. she hates it but it's all in good fun, and Noel isn't actually making fun of her for learning slower than him.
Ricky just loves that his friends are doing this for him. He knows it's the bare minimum, but after spending so long without people to talk to it's nice to have people who care about him.
Ocean apologizes to Ricky for not learning sooner, and they have a heart to heart about what it means to be a good friend and how Ricky is proud of Ocean for trying now and making up for lost time and also about how he forgives her for not making more of an effort in the past.
Most of the choir still talks to Ricky and mainly uses their knowledge of sign to understand what he's saying, but Penny will actually sign without speaking a good chunk of the time. It can be more comfortable for her and it makes Ricky feel a little more "normal" to have some who also doesn't speak around him.
Mischa and Ricky sign to each other in situations of need. Usually Mischa will pass Ricky in the hallways and if some kid is bothering him he'll sign to him, asking if Ricky needs backup or just someone to walk with him that isn't an asshole.
Noel and Ricky sign to each other when they're in class and sharing answers or passing secrets and jokes.
Oh, here comes the spacedolls hcs:
Penny asks him out in asl, Ricky tries not to cry
Ricky will sign "i really love you" to her at random times and she just melts
They sign really fast and so when the other choir members or other students walk past they're just telling elaborate stories to each other and their hands will basically be wavy blurs. It can be hard for the others to keep up but it's really cute to watch the two of them just beaming and signing to each other all the time.

Nischa Headcanons!
(Part 1 >:3)
❥Every year, they go to the fall fair and ride the ferris wheel. Noel tries to make it romantic, but Mischa just points out the stupid things that the people below them are doing.
❥Mischa wants to be the big spoon because "oh yeah I'm a strong guy I'll protect you" but he secretly LOVES being the little spoon
❥These guys are both snorers, but not they're not loud. Mischa just does it every night, Noel only does it if he's absolutely out of it.
❥Follow-up for the previous one, Mischa is a mouth breather during sleep and Noel is a nose breather.
❥When they go out to eat, they usually go to French or Ukranian restaurants.
❥They stay up during spooky season and watch scary movies! Saw V is always on the list.
❥They nap on each other during long bus rides.
❥Mischa sends Noel stupid TikToks at like 3 a.m. Noel wakes up for work with 99+ notifications.
❥Mischa always makes really stupid jokes, and Noel smiles. Not because they're funny, but because he loves his boyfriend :3
❥Mischa tries to kiss away Noel's tears when he's upset, but mascara does NOT taste good.
❥Mischa takes Noel to see movies that he thinks he'd enjoy (even if he himself doesn't), and vice versa.

My favorite headcannon for Noel is that he owns a dress very similar to the one he plays Monique in.
He never got the chance to wear it during his short life, it was kept in the back of his closet and he'd only take it out to daydream about being Monique. But he never got the chance to really wear it. After his death, it stayed there, untouched until his mother found it tucked away on a hanger.
(I also like to think that it was his Mom's from when she was younger!! He could have taken it from a collection of things his mother was clearing out the house after his father left.)
